As a student of his 8 a.m. class, he is the sole reason I am up and smiling that early. A lot of hands-on activities that go along with readings/lectures. There is often in-class group work that is upbeat and fun, but also educational. Not an easy A, but not a hard class either, you get what you work for. HIGHLY recommend, you wont regret it.

Chofla is an overall good person-works really hard to listen to feedback of students. Group tests. You read a chapter a week and have a quiz once a week (but VERY easy). E-mail responses are very quick. Very funny and caring. Would recommend him to anyone. I learned a lot but still had fun. You get points for showing up to class so might as well go

I think that I learned more from Dr. Chofla than any other of my professors' combined. He is an amazing teacher, so inspirational, and is really funny and energetic. He gives a lot of in class time for your final project so there is really no way you can fail and if you do it is all on you. He gives you awesome feedback. Top Notch in my book!!

This is my first semester at BC. Dr. Chofla REALLY helped me outside of class. He met me so many times and answered my questions. So many teachers make you feel stupid. Professor Chofla assigns a lot of homework. He explains it though. It makes sense. I wish I could take more classes with him.

Assigns a lot of homework, but it is very interesting. Lectures and videos in this class are good and interesting. I came into this class as one person and now different. I can't quite explain it. Here is a teacher that really cares about the topic he is teaching. The class is based on a lot of group discussion and each class period is worth the participation points. He does include videos and personal experience to make the lectures interesting. There is a lot of support on making sure there is time for you to get your work done.

Child development is not my major (pursing nursing), but this has been one of my favorite classes and for sure teachers. The Doctor is a Doctor for a reason. He needs to teach others at the college. I love my nursing program, and the teachers, but they dont always seem to know what theyre doing.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. He really cares about each student. Show up to class, do your work, and an A is guaranteed! I really liked the fact that it's easy to reach him outside of class, and he answers very fast. Do not think that you can pass this class easily though; a good amount of work is required outside of class.

CDF40 has a lot of homework, but Dr. Chofla is there to make sure you succeed. He responds quickly to email and goes out of his way to make sure everyone succeeds. This course is fun and rewarding. As long as you put effort in the require hours, you will be fine. All you need to do is show up to class for regular attendance, go to your lab and do your lab work. Usually for a 2 hours course, long and boring, but, Dr. Chofla is hilariously FUN and ENTERTAINING. This makes a DIFFERENCE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING!

Doctor Chofla is a great teacher, yes! He also clearly cares about his students outside of class and afterwards. Hes written me a letter of recommendation which helped me get into a teaching internship at Chico. He was there during class and I know hes here for me when Im not even his student. Chofla requires attendance, you to bring your book to class, and the class has a lot of reading. I was a little confused at first, but since the weeks are similar it makes complete sense now. No matter how bad of a day I was having this semester, going to Dr. Chofla's class was what I looked forward to. You always wondered what interesting documentary or conversation were you going to have today. We even left the classroom a few times and had class discussions in other parts of the building and outside.

If it wasn't for Dr. Chofla, I would not have passed this course, or this semester. The course asks a lot of you. You had reading, quizzes, labs, and observations. I got very sick, lost a relative, but Dr. Chofla helped me through it all. He is tough. He doesn't accept work that is not your best work, but because he cares like no one else.

Dr. Chofla is easily one of the best teachers I have had so far here at Butte College. Right upon meeting him, you can tell that he truly loves what he does and his students. Participation and showing up are the biggest things in his class. Everything is open book, to ensure that we learn as much as possible. Overall, I would take him again!!!

Chofla is AMAZING! I had a serious medical issue and was in the hospital. He dropped by to leave a card at the hospital. I returned to class abc finished the class. I got a C but would have failed if it wasnt for him.

I am in Dr. Chofla's CDF14 class and think he is my favorite teacher. He assigns a lot of work but class is so fun. You cannot miss class but I don't want to because he makes it worth it. You need your book right away so get it. He uses the book code which is expensive and you use it by the third class.

You CANNOT MISS CLASS, but of all my teachers he is my favorite. There is a lot of homework, but you can do most on your phone. No class tests! Stay on your ready or you will get behind.

Easiest and most fun class I have taken. You do weekly assignments and quizzes online which are super easy. One major assignment that is quick and easy and he tells you exactly what he expects. Lectures are always fun and interactive. Definitely recommend this professor.

Dr. Chofla is amazing! Unfortunately, because of classes switching to online I was only able to enjoy his crazy fun in class lectures for a month or so. He is one of the most caring professors I have had! He worked so hard to make the transition to online classes easy for his students, which I really appreciate since Im not used to online classes.

I was skeptical of Dr. Cholfa at first. He and I don't share the same values or way of living, but oh my goodness was he awesome! I loved Dr. Chofla! I took the online class and everything I needed was right there for me and the class was organized. He made little checklists for us to use (it was optional) to make sure we were keeping up with the work. The workload was easy and manageable, and he gave out so much extra credit. He's a funny guy and always willing to help.

He was a super fun teacher and was super nice. When we needed help he was always willing and responded fast. He made this class really entertaining.

Take him if you can, you won't regret it. He really wants emphasizes that he is learning along with you the student and wants to make you feel like you're getting something by showing up to class. Dr. Chofla is a fantastic professor. This class has a ton of reading, and a lot of information to learn. I really liked the Learn Smart with the Connect code. Dr. Chofla is very involved in the class, and gives wonderful feedback. I looked forward to class, and I learned an incredible amount.

Great teacher. However, there is a ridiculous amount of work. A discussion, one or two 1-2 hour movies required, Learn Smart (takes 45min-1 hour), & a 45 question quiz. Every. Single. Week. They take late work until the end of the semester which is incredibly helpful, but definitely would not be necessary if there weren't absurd amounts of work.

Amazing teacher! I took this course strictly online, and even through an online course I can feel his passion for teaching. He always gives feedback on assignments feedback that helps you learn from him and learn from yourself. He is kind and thorough in explaining assignments, and I always felt that he graded fairly. Prof Chofla is outstanding. He will work with you and cheer you on to pass his class. CDF63 is difficult because you will need to complete the lab portion with the children where you need to create activity plans, write about your experience and show your knowledge of what you are learning. Be prepared for this class and give your best effort.

Has a ton of energy and is entertaining which makes class being mandatory, its heavily graded for showing up, so important. All quizzes are online and open-book, no exams.

I have taken Choflas class for CDF 12 and CDF 63. He is very engaged in his classes, both online and in person. There is a lot of reading in online course but he makes it fun and is super active in all the posts. He is very kind and willing to work with you on assignments. Do your work and its an easy pass, even for me with terrible ADHD.

Prof. Chofla is a great teacher - his instructions are clear and he provides so much support. I'd recommend using Unstuck AI alongside the textbook for an easy A. The class is manageable if you stay engaged.

Dr. Chofla is very organized when it comes to giving us our reading material, assignments, and quizzes. No other teacher I have had in the past has been as organized as this professor. He also gives you chances to fix your mistakes and will regrade your work to give you a better score. He knows his stuff when it comes to Child Development.

He allows students to make up missing work and repeat quizzes. He is understanding, provides positive feedback, and encourages students to redo their work to improve their grades. His lectures are informative, if you complete the assignments and study thoroughly, you will have no problems with this course. I would definitely take this class again.

Professor Chofla was an amazing professor. The work in Canvas was in an easy format, and was a check list so that you could easily tell what you had already completed. Professor Chofla was also extremely compassionate when it came to late work and graded based on the quality of the work. I would 100% take a class with this amazing professor again!

Shaun-Adrian is highly relatable, and I thoroughly enjoyed taking his classes.
