Mr. H makes it extremely easy to pass this class. He uses himself and his life as examples and makes the classroom feel like a small setting by engaging with the whole class (150+). His humor and his love of music also has made this class a great experience for me, even though I will not be pursuing a sociology degree.

Professor H. is so awesome. Not only does he give you the information but he gives you scenarios so that it is easy to apply what you are learning to the real world. He has a great sense of humor so it's not a drag to go to class, you'll get a few chuckles in between sentences. Definitely take him. He's great and very passionate about teaching.

Fun class..i was just taking it for my basics so i wasnt too interested..but the professor made it interesting and easy to pay attention. He posts all the notes online which helps a lot. Attendance is mandatory but its a fun class so just go to class.

Fun class. Ocasionally goes off on tangents, but keeps everything interesting. A class you actually want to go to because its fairly fun. Although most of the class is lecture, its not just a boring sit down takes notes type thing.

A great professor who uses powerpoint and lectures more than the textbook. Tests are easy and straight off powerpoint slides (which are given to you) and other grades come from discussion posts online as well. Seriously easy A. And the guy is really cool so you cant go wrong.

Dr. H. is the best professor (i.e., very indepth discussions, funny, Yes-cool and that make him likeable, relates text material to the real-world with application). I'm a really interactive learner and professor hedgepeth really emphasizes that. He invites the class to interact in conversation with one another on controversial topics in today's society. His test's are pretty straight forward and his personality is really easy going which in turn makes the class a lot more enjoyable.

Dr. H. utilizes the student's knowledge paired with his to teach and bring about enlightenment. It really validates the student into the fostering of critical thinking. What an ingenious way to teach. He's not run-of-the mill. You will actually learn in this class if you do what is required. Cry babies don't get him or get the brillance of Dr H.

Easy A. Studied one day before test for 40 minutes and easily aced test. Definitely make a friend in class so you can cover each others back in case something comes up.

I learned alot from this class. This was a summer class so it was mandatory for you to be there every day. He let the class participate 100% which made the class very interesting because of everyone's different viewpoints. I definitely recommend this class and this professor! :)

Great instructor. I took his class last semester and failed due to my own choices but enjoyed the class entirely and retook it this semester and now have an A. Its easy as long as you put forth the work. He's very entertaining and the class goes by quickly. I highly recommend this instructor.

The class is all around fairly easy, if you show up to class and don't fall asleep you will generally walk away with a great deal. Only real down side is that debate is incouraged in class which is perfectly fine except for the fact that most the people that speak just want to hear their own voice or have no idea what they are talking about.

I was an SI for Soc 1013 section 8, as well as section 11. I must say, that compared to many professors he is by far one of the best to take for this introductory class. He will grade you fairly and if you study you are guranteed to do well. I highly recommend him to any student looking to take a sociology class.

He was so much fun, and I never really had an interest in Sociology before taking this class. The discussions were some of the best and insightful I have ever had with a lecturing professor. One has to really work hard to fail this beginning Sociology class; Prof. Hedgepeth gives many opportunities to succeed and it is up to the student to choose.

Power point presentations he read from. He provides the slides for test prep and provided a study guide for the first test. Study. He won't give you the grade but he will help you get it. And attend SI Sessions too.

everyday i went to this class i learned something new. he is a really fun laid back professor.

Though sometimes the material is emotionally challenging I beleive that Professor Hedgepeth does a great job of keeping the class discussions educational and not personal.

Take Hedgepeth for any class he offers. You learn a lot through the way he teaches. There is a lot of discussion and this is how he likes to get material across. It really helps if you share your perspective. Basically, there are group presentations, some tests, and a current event folder. I took him for Poverty and Difference and Deviance.

During lectures, he mostly relates things to reality (your life). But when it comes to the test majority of the stuff is from the text book. OH and its best if you participate, he loves it when people do! And we do get attendance check by doing one question assignments, but his class is decent for you to go to and just learn.

This is an interesting class if you are interested in society and how it affects you and those around you.Class participation makes it even better.I did not enjoy the group project because it was very difficult to get people to cooperate. This professor cares about his students putting effort into his class. He is big on class discussions. He is a good professor. I made an A in the class, and to be honest none of the work was stressful. You will have to do in class presentations, usually just one major one, and sometimes he will call on random people to present current events.

Good professor when gauging engaging the class in discussions, but sometimes the discussions deviate from the lessons. It's easy to get lost if you don't do the outside readings BEFORE class.

He is a pretty easy teacher. We only had two test. A midterm and a final. The test was very much like the power point and not difficult. If you just study his power point you can make an A. We also did a group presentation and got an A. It is a very engaging class and he expects participation. Downside= it is a liberal class.

Dr. Hedgepeth is an awesome professor. He is easy to follow and he knows his material. He communicates through blackboard so check it often. He will post the PowerPoint?s so just take good notes of the examples he is using. I would most definitely recommend his class to all.

I really enjoy this class. Professor Hedgepeth is really funny, great teacher. Being a full time mom and working 45 hrs a week I end up missing some classes, which isn't to my benefit. He is very entertaining and there is so much value to watch he teaches.

Very good teacher.. enjoyed lectures. Talks about a lot of personal experiences which makes the class more interesting. You'll get a good grade if you show up to class every day and take notes.

The class itself is not great. The required textbook is ridiculous - contradicting itself and siting unrealistic solutions to the social problems discussed. However, the prof is very laid back and does make class time interesting. There's lots of class discussion, and the tests are based off .ppts. Only take this class if you're a sociology major.

Hedgepeth is freaking awesome! Super funny, like stand up funny. I loved going to every class, you'd get a good laugh ever time. His teaching is straight up crystal clear. Go to class, he does random quizzes for attendance. But the quizzes are super easy, its just to show that you were there. Don't worry about the SOTT(sign of times). There easy.

Great teacher to take for all of his classes. They all have the same format- Group presentation, current events each week, and take home tests which you can get most of the information from the slides from class. He's really laid back and makes class interesting. Easy A

Attendance is mandatory. Tests are take home, short answer/essays. Really easy to get an A in this class if you just remember to show up! He's a really nice guy with a lot of personal attachment to this class. Will eventually need to use the books for assignments & exams.

He is an amazing professor. I'm making an A in his class right now and I know if I were to read the book a little bit more I could make an A+. Only a midterm and final(online, very easy), and quizzes in class. You never know when he's going to have a quiz so it's best to come because they also count as an attendance grade.

Very cool prof. Relates the material to real world, mostly through his experiences(some are pretty funny). Wants students to "wrap their brain around" the info more than worry about the small stuff. Just do the work and participate in the class and get the A.

Excellent professor! His class is a lot of fun and you will actually learn something if you attend! Shows a few extremely informative movies, lets you take online exams, and gives points for attendance. I would definitely recommend him for a fun and easy A!

Took him this semester for Poverty class. Great class and his style is easy going but has high expectations as well, which is fine by me. I enjoyed the class and loved the material presented but the only drawback was a few of the students were extremely sensitive and take debates personal.FYI he is very handsome:)

A very intelligent and friendly professor. His Introduction to Sociology course is not very difficult and he tries to make his course relatively fun by trying to engage with his students. Should be able to make an A or B if you put some effort. Recommended

Dr. H is fair. The course isn't difficult if you pay attention and take care of your business. Attendance is checked randomly via "Attendance Checks" so you need to be in class when it's in session. I went into the classes I had with him this semester thinking he was going to be an A..Hole, but turns out, I'm taking away good info from the course.

This professor is awesome. His exams were open book/ open notes online format. Quizzes were easy and mostly based on your opinions and thoughts about special topics. He does random attendance checks, so show up to class! You'll learn the material and get an "A" with ease.

Dr. H. makes everything super clear that's why the class seems easy rather than unclear and difficult. Story telling is about self-disclosure. He explained that the first day of class. Yes, there are 5 books, but I found each of them to have so much relavance in this class. Dr. H. explained how each book would be used in the class. So, those that wine or complain didn't listen or were absent. This is a thinking class, not a rote memorization class. I love how Dr. H. personalized the class; it wasn't TMI. Totally recommend it.

Class is easy if you pay attention in class and review the power points he gives you. There is a group presentation that is required so get on it as soon as you find out. Watch out for quizzes and make sure any assignments gets done.

Class is easy but contains a lot of work. Stay on top of things and its an easy A. Let it pile up and you gotta put in some extra work when everything is due. Exam 1 and final were online and i think he said it was his first time trying this so if your lucky he'll continue to have them online.

His intro to Sociology class was pretty easy. As long as you pay attention to the power points and keep up with the simple assignments you'll do fine. He's a really sweet guy with a lot of interesting stories that made the class pretty fun. I would recommend.

Obviously it can be a depressing, touchy subject. It's discussing reality! Show up & pay attention there is no way you wont get an AB. He does ramble but it's all applicable. He holds your attention through lecture and is very personable. I highly recommend his class. Group project isn't difficult. Several textbooks- i recommend just sharing.

Have to show up in class because he gives pop quizzes that he uses as attendance checks (each worth 5%). Tests are online (midterm and final), but can be tough as the questions seem to come from left field as the information wasn't from the book, PowerPoints, or notes. Paper due about every other week, but overall, easy A if you try.

He's a great professor. He tells a ton of stories and is far from monotone. He gives pop quizzes, so don't miss class. If you are absent you need to bring a doctor's note or have proof of an emergency. Initially, I was overwhelmed with all the assignments that would be required; however, the class is just so entertaining that I didn't care.

This man's class was the least stressful class I had taken my first semester of freshman year. Very cool guy with a nice personality. He gives pop quizzes that are attendance grades (they are at the end of class and usually reflect on what he was talking about throughout the lecture). He makes the course interesting. By far my favorite professor yet. Such a funny guy and so clear with assignments. Assignments are so easy, as long as you do it, there should be no reason that you do not receive an A in the class. I definitely recommend Hedgepeth, you won't regret it.

Tests are almost straight from the PowerPoint slides. It's worth going to class, because Shaun presents the subject in an interesting way. The class is fairly easy, I didn't do much of the homework and I have a B in the class. Will be an easy A or B if you do all of the work.

Overall,I really enjoyed this class. However, I did have to leave in the middle of class once because I was feeling ill and I got a zero in return for not being present for the attendance check. So you MUST go to class. The tests aren't too bad because they are online, but there is a lot of pretty long assignments. I would still recommend!!

Have like 5 3-page papers. Only 2 tests, both online. Have 15 SOTT which are like current events that tie into class discussion. A lot of work, but easy. Does do pop quizzed for attendance. No late work turned in, all turned in online. Super nice, and as long as you pay attention you will do good. No need for book.

TAKE HIM. He has 2 exams but there are online so you are able to take them anytime throughout the day and he post all of his lectures online. He takes attendance throughout the semester.

There are only 2 tests, they are take-home and online-open notes. There were 6 home work essays 3 pages each. DO ALL OF THEM. I missed one of them and ended up getting a B+. Overall easy course and great professor

I took this course online and every week there was 3-5 assignments on the chapter we were supposed to read as well as a discussion over the chapter. When I had questions, he quickly responded and I would definitely recommend this class if you're good with self-teaching and writing about your learning!

Shaun is the greatest teacher I have ever had, this class is a MUST take! The only reason you won't get an A is if you're lazy! Two tests online which aren't bad at all. Six, 3 page Essay assignments which seems horrible, but I PROMISE you, if you just turn in at least two pages of mediocre essay you will get a 100! 15 current event essays--EASY

I love professor Hedgepeth!! It's real easy to pass his class, but it's also real easy to fail. You must go to class, he gives pop quizzes worth 100 points. He gives a ton of easy homework assignments. Two exams which are the midterm and final both online. I don't think I would take him only because he gave so much it was ridiculous. Easy A though.

Professor Hedgepeth is a great online professor! he was very clear on what he wanted and the assignments are easy. If you're the type that doesn't like papers, even on easy subjects, this class is not for you. About 3-5 papers/assignments per week that are super easy. 10/10 would recommend

An overall easy A. THere are about 3-4 papers due every week but don't let the deter you, the topics are easy if you read the chapters. I actually found that I enjoyed learning about the topics because they can be applied to everyday life.

Hedgepeth is the greatest online professor to walk this Earth. I can guarantee you he doesn't even glance at any of your assignments/essays/tests, just gives out 100's like candy. If you take this class online, you're buying your A. But beware there are 3-4 assignments due every Sunday night.

Literally the easiest online class you can take. You can submit a paragraph for a 6 page paper assignment and he still will give you a 100. Possibly the most pointless and easiest class I have ever taken.
