Shaun is a great teacher, so what if she's a feminist! that's her god given right, and she does no male bashing, she just sheds light on the female perspective. I think it's rather refreshing. Organization would help though:)

She's very fun and disarming... so be sure to do all your work because she's not easy. She's not very organized, so as a result, what is on the exam is also not very clear. She's really good at answering questions, which is why we never finish the classes. She genuinely seems to have no bias for anything... great teacher!

ARGH...2 people below: How can you complain that her spelling is terrible if you spell "ridiculous" as "rediculous"?! Shaun is a GREAT professor; she may not be the most organized but she makes people interested and is incredibly knowledgable. I'd take another course with her in a heart beat.

She's knowledgeable and will answer your questions extremely thouroughly. Keeps class interesting and makes students involved; she doesn't just talk from notes. Very willing to help you understand class, prepare for exams, and help with papers. You'll know all about her family by the end of the semester, but she's fun and personable. Great course.

Tries to gain her students acceptance. Speaks in meters best described a though she's hosting a radio show. I will give her her due,however, she is a popular professor. Not many Professors can boast this, but then again, not many professors give out extensions like thier candy.

TAKE HER COURSES! She is interesting and very kind. I honestly don't think I was bored once in two semesters with her. Don't miss this prof!!

I had 2 classes with her in Fall 2005 and Winter 2006, POli 1103 & 2203. She IS ONE OF THE BEST PROF IN DOUGLASS, BESIDE DR. TIMOTHY PATERSON IN ANTHROPOLOGY! She IS VERY HELPFUL, if you are stucked, SHE WILL GO THE EXTRA LENGTH to HELP. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER... TOO BAD I AM GONE FROM DOUGLAS---TO ONTARIO.

OK, she is very disorganized, can't keep her 2 classes straight and all the papers are mixed up with missing pieces. However she's very considerate and very interested in what she is teaching. She is like the soccer mom that can name every political uprising in the last 60 years. I think that's great. She's also doing noble work on the side. GREAT!

She's great! She is very considerate and very helpful. But more important thing is that her class is very interesting! Before I took this course, I was not that interested in politics but now I'm more interested in politics and got more familiar with it. I've heard she was disorganized but I didn't feel it at all. Her organizing topics were clear.

What a mightmare!!! She is so disorganized and class is canceled on a weekly basis. She lost my essay, how do you lose an email? What a waist of time and money. She is passionate about what she teaches but that doesnt make her good at it. Easiest class ever, NO book required. Great class for those who are in school cause daddy said so.

She may not be the most organized of professors, but she more then makes up for that. She hands out copies of her own notes when the lecture is over, which is really helpful in case you’ve missed anything. She is amazingly passionate which makes the classes that much more interesting and she is super, super nice! She gives out incredible review

She is a very nice and good teacher. Her teaching style is very open and clear. Her notes are simple and effective. She is one of the best teachers in the school and the course was very fun. I would most definitly take her class again.

she is an is one of the best poli sci profs in Douglas college and I highly recommend her, she is not disorganized ...as long as you pay attention in class & review your notes,and the handouts you will do well on the midterm & final exam.She is very helpful,but she is a tough when it comes 2 grading your papers.Over all i would highly recommend her

Very very easy prof, as long as your honest and you put in the effort. Marking is relatively easy, she doesn't seem sharp but don't be fooled..specialty is American politics...by far the nicest prof at Douglas

Shaun is passionate about her area of expertise. She is also very approachable and friendly; she wants to help her students. She is inclined to be a bit forgetful, so she may need to be reminded about something she said she'd do, though. A good instructor overall.

Best Prof

She's very helpful and understanding. Her lectures are very interesting despite the subject. She doesn't use the book much so you should take notes. However before the exam read the book and her notes and you should be fine. She's not very organized but her class has a positive learning environment and she's really fun.

Really really easy. Sometimes late to class or cancels the class because of her son. Very nice and funny professor. Messed up at the end and got a B+, otherwise had an A on all tests and papers.

Awesome teacher. Relatively easy, posts really good and comprehensive notes online. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. I've had 3 classes with her and haven't re the textbooks at all. She'sa bit unorganized but really knowledgeable and there is great in class discussions. Nothing is very formal, I would recomend her for a social science credit.

It was either POLI 1100 or 1101, the introduction course. I either liked her lecture style and didn't. Her class is fun and lectures are not like "lectures" becus she doesn't use powerpoint nor t/b. I liked that, but it at the same time makes it hard to study for midterms and final. But her tests are fairly easy tho. Overall I enjoyed her lectures!

She is a great teacher who cares about her students and if you try she will do everything she can to help you. She makes the course content interesting and relatable. Is a bit disorganized at times but will clarify anything when asked.

One of the best Profs i have had. She makes it really easy to approach her and ask her any question. Makes her grading to benefit you as a student as much as possible and tests are straight from notes. Never seen her without a smile on her face. If you pass on a class with her you deserve a slap.

Although she will be late for class and her lessons plans may not have the most structure she really does want you to do well. She's super clear of what she wants if you talk to her during office hours or after class. Posts all lecture notes online AND gives review outlines of exactly what is on tests and exams. Textbook is supplementary reading.

Good professor, very friendly and wants you to succeed. Cares about her students. Her lectures are unorganized and unclear but as long as you pay attention, you will do fine on the tests. Paper is weighted quite heavily. No real "stand-up in front of the class and present" style of presentations.

She is such an awesome teacher! This was my first semester at Douglas, and she made the transition very smooth for me. Very helpful if you have questions for her in her office, or just want to chat about your paper. No midterm, all tests are from the notes she gives us. Nothing unfair. Final paper you can chose your own topic. She marks very fair.

Shaun is a good teacher - she clearly wants you to do well and will give you a study guide prior to each test. Her notes are confusing and unorganized sometimes, so pay attention. She arrives late sometimes and there is not much homework. Term paper and 3 tests, textbook not really required. Participate and focus and you will receive a good grade.

She was very nice, approachable, and helpful. Her lectures were based off of notes (available online) and were partly written on the white board or spoken.

not only my first poli-sci prof but one of my very first college profs. the class is pretty long & you can easily get lost or confused if you're not paying attention or taking notes so that's a must. but she is very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject and also very funny and nice! i hope to take another of her classes before i graduate.

I love Shaun. She gives you a review guide for all the tests, posts all of her slides online, she's nice and knows her stuff. The only negative is that she tends to ramble during lecture. But just take notes and focus and you should do fine.

Shaun is a very friendly professor. Her lectures can get quite long as she may ramble on about a certain topic. She at first posts the lecture notes before the class, but then slowly starts to post them after. Midterm, 2 small assignments, participation, term paper and the final. She is a hard paper marker, but gives reviews for the exams.

amazing prof, she'll go above and beyond to help you, and she's extremely knowledgable about her field. you can discuss/ask her anything and she'll give you the info you need, whether its world events or your final paper.

I took four classes with Shaun and loved her. She was one of my first college profs and easily one of the best profs I've had in my post-secondary career. She was definitely the reason why I decided to pursue POLISCI. TAKE HER CLASS.

Shaun is a great, great professor. Her and Micheal Sporer are the best instructors I've ever had. She is the perfect example of what a poli-sci prof should be; fair/balanced, completely non bias and open to your views. Super welcoming to any opinion, yet also very knowledgeable about the subject mater. The paper is fairly long - 15 pages.

Shaun is absolutely one of the best Poli Sci professors at Douglas College. Her lectures are engaging and informative but not overloading. She grades firmly but fairly and is open to adjusting grades if you're passionate about the topic. Honestly one of my new favorite profs.

Shaun is very knowledgeable in her field, I only took an introductory course but I was impressed with her intelligence of the field. Lectures can get side tracked but she will be more than happy to clarify the topic. Makes an effort to quickly respond to emails and is very reasonable with her assignments and exams. + Accommodates extensions.

Super sweet lady, she is very flexible when it comes to due dates and extensions. Very in detail lectures, if you listen in class you barely need to study for the tests. No final exam, only a final paper. Overall loved her class!

One of the most thoughtful and caring professors I've ever had. Our class discussion was fruitful and engaging, with people never walking away angry even when disagreements arise. Papers, tests and assignments are all fair and she gives good feedback.

She's very understanding.I had an instant where my babysitter canceled last min and she allowed me to bring my daughter to class to finish my work, engaged her in doing arts and craft.
