I had her when she started teaching and she adjusted the work load accordingly. Shes lovely and has a solution to all your needs if you have issues with the class. She is also well connected in the stem community so take the opportunity while you can. She really cares about her students and enjoys watching cute animal videos during lecture.

I love Shuana Price. She knows what shes talking about and she cares about her students doing well in her class. She makes lectures interesting and she is easy to follow. Her exams are not too hard, just make sure you review the power points and do the mastering biology homework. I would take her again in a heartbeat.

I took her for Bio 111 lab and sometimes she is all over the place but she is not that difficult and she is always willing to help. If you do your work you can easily pull off an A. Her lab exams aren't that bad either. she is very understanding and approachable, I definitely recommend her!

I had Dr. Price her first semester teaching here at Loyola. I overall had a wonderful experience taking her for BIOL111. She is totally willing to help her students because she truly wants them to succeed. She also has really good pre lab powerpoints that are super helpful in studying for the exams. Also, she is hilarious! I loved going to class.

Price is very chill. Her class is straightforward. There's worksheets and a decent amount of homework. She was frazzled at times but only because it's her first semester. Anyone with a brain should ACE this class especially if you know your shiz. If you didn't get an A maybe it's time to change majors or drop premed cuz this the easiest its gon get

Dr. Price is a good teacher and her prelab quizzes are easy even though she will throw some hard question. I recommend going in and talking to her if you have questions. Her practicals can be difficult at times and the wording of her question may confuse you. Just ask her for help! She is a very intelligent professor! Might have to work for an A.

Dr. Price is an incredible and caring teacher. Shes is crazy funny and made an 8:15 class enjoyable. Her tests are pretty straight forward and she gives a lot of homework which are pretty easy and boost your grade. She also does in class worksheets, so you have to show up, but they boost your grade a ton.

I had Price for her 1st semester at Loyola and although 111 has stale content, she made it bearable. She is a little all over the place, but she grades fair and can be very helpful. She comes from the Field Museum and loves what she does in Biology. Content not too difficult grading wise, but study for 111 regardless and you'll do well with Price.

Love Shauna!! She's a star. I had her for BIO 101 lecture and 112 lab. She is great at explaining concepts and is adorably funny. I came in with a grasp on the topics already from AP bio however if I were seeing the material for the first time I think I would have understood her explanations well. Shauna is amazing! Her personality enough to sign up for one of her classes, she very sweet and funny. Lecture at times can be a bit confusing but if you ask questions she will clarify the material. Lab exams are very detailed, so make sure you study. Overall I would recommend her classes.

Dr. Price was a great teacher, but she really makes you work for it. Very lecture heavy and you need to do a lot of work outside of class if you want to pass the tests. She is hilarious but sometimes that takes off from our lectures. I liked her class but you really need to study. Like, a lot.

Price is the best professor in the Bio department. The class is lecture heavy but she will make sure students understand the materials by going over the harder stuff multiple times. She is very easy to reach out to outside of class. Exams are easy and questions are from her slides. Also some of the exam questions came right from the HW assignment.

Great professor! Ecology is a pretty easy class to begin with but its super easy to get a good grade with her. In-class activities for completion (so go to class), 3 homework assignments, 3 quizes, 3 summaries of research, and a presentation. She can be a little disorganized but super nice and her lectures are easy to understand. Take her!

I really love Dr. Price! She's really nice and super funny in lecture. She can be a little unorganized and marks things wrong on homework/ tests that aren't wrong but she always fixes it. She curves the tests if people do poorly. She gives out extra credit for showing up to class like candy so definitely go because she just does it on random days.

Any biology class you take at Loyola you'll have to do the readings. Shauna did have launchpad homework assignments which my prof last semester did not. 5 tests, 8 homework assignments, and many in class activities. Some extra credit for participation on random days so try not to skip. Minute-papers give feedback to Shauna to explain harder topics

Dr. Price is an awesome bio teacher. Her lectures are very easy to follow and they arent something to dread. She does make exam questions a little complicated but as long as you keep up with the material and homework youre guaranteed to do well. I would recommend Dr. Price to anyone.

She cares a lot about her students. She's been really accommodating and she will go out of her way to make sure you succeed in this class. The tests are a little difficult, but she always spends time reviewing and helping everybody out. Really knows her stuff and is passionate about what she does.

Honestly one of the most helpful professors. She offers plenty of extra credit. The textbook is not necessary because she goes mainly off of her slides. Exams are not too difficult if you study. Super accessible outside of class. Her amazing personality makes the class and the material interesting.

Dr. Price is a really great choice for a professor - she's super kind and caring and gives out extra credit like candy. You're graded by in-class work, online homework through Launchpad and tests. Try not to miss any lectures because she assigns in-class work randomly. Would definitely take her again if I had the chance.

During covid she is one of the few professors who said they will help you and meant it. I'm sad that I won't have her in the future because she made me excited to learn. Dr. Price really, really cares about her students' success. She goes out of her way to make sure literally everyone understands what's going on. Only homework assignments were mastering biology once in a while, and the test information was directly from her lectures (NO TEXTBOOK READINGS NEEDED!) She is very friendly and always responds to emails.

Really the only thing in gradebook are the exams and homework (she grades hw for accuracy). She's such a nice and understanding professor that's always willing to help. Her lectures are clear and usually you just have to know what's on the slides. Her exams are hard though and if you get a low grade on them it's hard to recover.

Dr. Price is the sweetest professor I have this semester. She offers so much extra credit and she makes the lectures interesting. This class was pretty tough, and you really have to study awhile in advance for the exams. She is very caring and is accessible outside of class. The SI sessions also help a lot.

I took Ap Bio in hs and the experience was terrible. Price turned bio around for me, she actually teaches and doesn't expect you to teach yourself. Homework is reasonable, and exams are easy if you pay attention to the homework. Only thing is she makes you purchase Top Hat, just an extra fee people should be aware of. But regardless I love her.

Price is a really nice professor and I've loved talking to her both in and out of class. She's a great professor with helpful office hours and interesting lectures. The downfall? Her exams. You'd think you're in BIO505 or something with the difficulty. Answers are impossible to guess on as questions ask for the most minute of details. Such a shame.

I am so glad to have had Shauna for BIO111 lab. She makes the material much easier to learn and, oftentimes, will work through the labs alongside you. Dr. Price was one of my favorite teachers last semester. You have to study for her exams. The exams are based on the homework and top hat questions. She got side tracked sometimes but she gave the class life. Tip: don't take notes during the class, pay attention then review them. You will be lost while you're copying her slides(she shares slides).

Dr. Price is a fantastic instructor! She is super passionate about biology, which makes her lectures interesting and fun. All of her exams are multiple choice, and they're not very challenging. I missed maybe half of the lectures and still finished with an A. If you can, take her for Biol 101 and 102.

I LOVE HER. I will say though that her exams are hard and be prepared to study if you want a good grade. She takes her exam questions from TopHat and Mastering Biology (she literally tells you this), but don't solely rely on this to get test questions right. She gives out TONS of extra credit and your participation grade is based off TopHat.

Dr. Price is the best! She tells you exactly what you need to know for tests and almost all of the questions on the practical have a word bank/are fill in the blank. She makes sure you know what you're looking for, which is nice for dissections and stuff. This class is for lab, so you do have to put effort in, but she is super helpful!

She slows down lectures if she can tell the students aren't understanding, she uses videos and models, and her discussions are extremely helpful. Super sweet! Exams are worded VERYYYY AWFULLY....BUT she knows that and gives a TON of extra credit + curves exams to make up for it. Lectures are sometimes over-complicated so you may need to use outside sources sometimes. Overall definitely doable, I studied for exams pretty well and ended with a 98. She wants you to succeed so don't worry!!

Shauna is a very good person and can explain things well during lectures. However, her exams are nearly impossible. The averages for our exams were usually 60s or below. I studied everyday I had her lecture, and still managed to not do well. She does give a lot of extra credit, but sometimes it doesn't make up for the loss of points.

Dr. Price is a good lecturer and gave a lot of extra credit. I did not find the class too hard, and honestly think the class grades were so low because of covid during their high-school years. I was in high-school pre-covid and the content was pretty much what I had learned in school. Exam questions very similar to tophat and homework questions.

She's chill and cares about her students. Doesn't make the class harder than it has to be for her or you. If you go to class you get extra credit too. Tests all multiple choice. I'd definitely recommend her for BIOL101/102.

Probably the best BIO 101 teacher there is. Gives out so much extra credit just for attending lecture, and then turning in an anonomyous survey after tests. Honestly very hard to fail the class. As long as you attend lecture most of the time and pay attention you will be good.

Attendance was not necessary for my class which was helpful since I don't do well with large lectures. Very clear study guides and notes that help you study for the exams. Dr. Price is so kind-hearted and easy to talk to so always feel free to ask for clarification or any questions. Small quizzes every week were pretty easy but exams are tougher.

My favorite professor at Loyola!!! I had her for bio101 and got her again for bio102. Her tests are similar to the homework and quizzes. And she just started letting her students use 1 notecard for the tests and quizzes. The test questions are more application-type, but everything you need to know is on her slides. AMAZING & super nice!!

Dr. Price is a great professor. She is always willing to guide you to the correct answers during labs, and is super clear with what she will put on the exams. Exams come straight from lectures so if you pay attention and review lecture slides (posted on Sakai) you will be just fine. Quizzes at the beginning of most labs but they are very manageable

Very clear with what we need to know for tests. Lectures can feel like they drag but that is normal for biology. Very forgiving on missing quizzes and lets you make them up if you email her before hand and have a good reason. LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT!

The class is easy as long as you keep up with the work. Dr. Price gives lots of extra credit and goes over the content in lots of detail so that everyone understands it. Even if you don't study or take notes, the tests are very accessible as long as you listen to the lectures.

Dr. Price is either a love or hate. She uses an online platform instead of a textbook, so if you learn better with a textbook I would not recommend. For gen bio I found it quite difficult (I also didn't really do the work), but she was very sweet and willing to help, along with offering lots of extra credit.

Don't know why the other people in these reviews are crying lol if you put in the work you will get a good grade, its that simple. Shes so sweet and really nice! Gives a bunch of extra credit to help your grade! If you think she isn't a good match for you just take another professor instead of venting on here.

DEF take her Bio395 human insect interaction class!! We had 1 presentation and VERY chill discussions in class. All the readings we did were really cool! I'm not too fond of bugs, but I learned so much about insects and she made the class really interesting. She's very sweet and even got us a tour of the insect collections at the Field Museum!

I absolutely adore Shauna Price as well as her dedication to her field and her students. I took her my freshman year (will be a senior this year!) for 101 and 102 and keep in touch with her to this day. She truly changed the trajectory of my college career and I cannot recommend her enough. So caring, respectful, and understanding. Take her class!!

Shauna is amazing! She uses Codon which is an easy to use/read website for the textbook. Four exams (including final) are all based on Codon readings/lectures. All multiple choice. Graded mostly on exams with other points coming from Codon assignments. Super easy class and Shauna is always willing to help.

Good teacher, but reads just off the slides, tests are mostly based on codon and real life situations and not much on vocab or understanding, get just notecard for cheatsheet
