VERY DOWN TO EARTH LADY, I ENJOYED BEING IN HER CLASS. TOUGHT LIFE LONG LESSONS THROUGH ALL THE TALKING. SPEND TIME ON YOUR PAPERS AND ASSIGNMENTS.

Fun class as long as you did your journal entries, turned in papers on time & came to class. Would recommend her to anyone else looking for a good english teacher. Would take a class being taught by her again.

Appreciated lessons on real life incorporated into boring subject matter!! My fellow students need to grow up and learn to talk about real life!! It IS english class, but would you rather talk about diagramming sentences and avoid real life? LOSERS!!

What are all you people talking about? Shavval is awesome! I loved this class, you probably have to be competent in the subject before taking the course though, in order to fully appreciate her methods. She might not be as lenient as other Profs. but she is clear, and extremely nice too.

Shavval is a smart woman, but she is quite boring..even when she thinks she's being funny. She knows what she's talking about though and you get the grade you deserve. Easy class if writing comes easily to you.

3 papers and a journal due...allllll semester long. easy class

Very nice and helpful if you need anything she's available. Her class is soooo boring, however. It's better if you just skip most of the time and write good papers. You'll still get an A.

Pretty simple class, no homework, just 3 papers. Nice Lady, boring subject.

a great teacher if you want to actually learn something that will be usefull in real life. I liked talking about contraversal subjects, she has a lot of passion in her job and could make you think if you came to class with an open mind.

She was a great teacher. If you need help, let her know and she is more than willing to help! I loved Shavval. She always helped, even when I was unable to attend class due to family issues. I always looked forward to this class.

Shavall is sweet! she was very helpful and grades fairly.

Shavval is a VERY nice lady. Really relates to her students. I ended up with a B+ but I think it was partially my fault for not putting enough time into the research paper. I would definitely recomend her. It's always good when you look forward to going to school!

She is an easy going teacher who understands that English is not everyones forte, and tries to keep that in mind when she is lecturing. She tells lots of stories and she's really laid back.

She wants her students to understand English and how important it is. She has a lot of compassion for what she does and it shines through her personality.

Mrs. Shavval was a very good teacher very helpful , sweet and kind. I learned alot from her and she is a great teacher and always used great examples to make sure we understood in class.

Good teacher if you have never had to write of paper. REALLY boring if you already write well. Helpful if you ask, reasonably accessible to students considering her workload. You may argue a grade with her and often get a better one (if you argue it well, whining will get you nowhere)Genuinely interested in helping students improve their writing.

Best english teacher i ever had!!! she is very nice, down to earth, and relaxed. not rude and picky like some professors. she is a very good teacher. very good at getting u to understand it even if it's your worst subject like it was for me.

Shavval is really nice, and very helpful. She gives you slack on paper dates and is easy going. She does tend to go on tangents, however they aren't too distracting.

Shavval is a very educated and compassionate instructor. She is very concerned about all of her students improvement in English. If you are interested in learning take her. She is one of the best instructors at GRCC. You would do yourself a favor in taking one of her classes.

Prof Fleming does talk a lot, but she is trying to relate to things everyone can understand. She likes to point out diversity and encourage conversations. Fleming is passionate about her education and always willing to stay after to work with anyone that needs help.

She is a great professor. This was by far the easiest class in my schedule. You have to write 4 papers and I think she gives points for participation and attendance.

AWESOME TEACHER! very communicative. dont be afraid to ask questions. No TESTS! just papers! so that means NO FINAL EXAM! :D.

Stylish writing is Professor Fleming's main lesson. She does a great job of teaching how to properly write and to create sentences that not only convey thought, but display thought in an interesting format. The class is definitely worth what I paid, and perhaps some more.

I really enjoyed having her as a professor. If you're a good writer, her class might be a bit boring for you. She is really focused on the basics and wants her students to apply what they learn in their future careers not as professional writers. She is very kind and willing to help. She spends time with each individual student on each paper.

I would recommend Professor Fleming to anyone who needs some extra push with writing. She is inspirational and is a great encouragement to those with self esteem about writing. Professor Fleming only assigns four papers the whole semester but each one has lessons behind it to help students improve their writings levels.

She was a wonderful teacher, a few good essays and good topics to write on.

I was VERY inspired by Shavval!! I also really enjoyed peer editing!!!! She really cares about her job and she TRULY believes that ANYONE can reach their goals NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!

Highly recommend for English. She's very sweet and has you do good peer reviewing for your papers.

I took Shavval Fleming for English 101. You do 4 essays and thats all. I find her to be a harder grader than other teachers. But if you are good at writing essays take her write really good essays and youll pass with flying colors.

I really enjoyed this class. It was very easy, but I still felt as though I learned a lot. Shavval is very caring. She made me feel as though she cared about me as a writer, and I think that alone pushed me into wanting to improve and enhance my writing. I would take her again if I could.

She is really caring and truly wants all of her students to succeed.

Minimal textbook use. Had 5 writing assignments the whole year. TOUGH GRADER!!! She was very boring, but provided some good insight with a few lessons she explained. Easy class to pass. She allows you to miss class and encourages you to take an"emotional day" to yourself. Overall, average teacher. Pretty boring & would take her again. She's chill.

Very nice professor, grades pretty easy and essays were fun to write. The only thing was that there was no many graded things in the course, maybe 12 or so, so if you do bad on one thing it affects your grade heavily and there is no room to really bring ur grade back up. Prof was very kind and overall chill though.
