I really enjoyed taking his class, he is very passionate about what he discusses and that makes it more fun for the students. Super sweet and considerate, all of his assignments are done online. The only thing I would say is that he never really hands grades back which is scary because then you dont know where you stand.
Professor Connor is very straight forward in how he grades and how you can do well in his class. He does not give a ton of homework and gives interesting relevant lectures in class. I would definitely recommend taking his class!
He is a good teacher who always provides a lot of interesting information on the topics learned. The homework load isn't too heavy. He helps a lot for your essays and is really specific for what he expects in it.
He was overall a really good professor. I had no troubles with him in the slightest. It just sometimes when he starts on topic he will keep going and going and going, until I want to get up and leave, but when it was interesting it was interesting.
Good professor overall - definitely be prepared to write! He's really intelligent and loves to learn new information. Participation definitely matters, don't be afraid to give your opinion.
Overall, this is a very interesting course. I definitely learned a lot of new information, things that I have never even heard before. Overall, just make sure you actually put effort into all the work and follow the syllabus!
Theres not a lot of homework and the papers are not that difficult. Hes a good teacher but sort of unclear on what he wants from the papers. Keeps class interesting.
I thought his lectures were really interesting and the workload wasn't too heavy which was good. He's also a nice and easygoing guy and is very willing to help if you seek him out.
Class was held in an open manner where discussion about articles were at topic. I really enjoyed the formatting of the course
Really interesting class- a lot of discussions and I learned a lot. Definitely take this class if you are interested in early civilization and the future of technology. Overall he was a great professor
Professor Connor is a very good professor- extremely intelligent and well read. Other than the midterm and final papers lets you get you're writing pieces done on your schedule. If follow the syllabus and give effort you're guaranteed to get at least a B.
The class was very interesting and I did not dread going to class. Very fair grader, tells you what he wants, just follow instructions. Homework is light just do the homework and get easy a on quizzes and homework. Overall positive experience. Gave lifelong english and writing advice also
Great course, interesting and varied topics, very flexible on what the class covers, class always held y attention. I would have liked more feedback though, everything is handed back through an online portal so there isn't much feedback on specific writing elements.
This course covered a lot of interesting topics, and the homework is essential for the easy weekly quizzes. I would take this class again, and recommend it to everyone.
Fun and engaging class, covering a wide variety of topics with a very nice style of lecture that does engage his students. Make sure you do some reading though.
Lecture heavy but they are very helpful when it comes to the class.
Took him for my seminar weekly quizzes and questions are easy points. The position pieces are very straight forward don't wait until the last minute. Class was fun overall, lectures arent bad. He is very into politics and will talk for days about them.
He's objective and doesn't let his political or moral beliefs interfere with material. He doesn't assume he's inherently better than students, and by nature is open to feedback or debate.
Awesome
Really nice guy, quizzes every week but are super easy. The essays are clear but don't wait till the last minute. Cool class
Its 2 months of talking about human evolution and 1 month about aliens
Does not explain things well. Very often gives lectures in class that do not at all pertain to the work we do outside of class.
Do journals , 3 essays , relatively easy work but most is done outside of class . Lectures in class interesting but sometimes off topic . Plus one easy presentation
2 readings with questions & 1 personal journal due at the beginning of every week, 3 essays over the whole semester, make sure you understand the prompt, they can be kinda confusing. Focused on traditional English class stuff but also on life itself Connor made this 8am worth it with his impartial and super informative lectures. Take this class!!
Tends to go off topic and spend entire class periods talking about politics and current events. He's a nice guy though. Essay questions and journals are due every week & there are 3 essays in total. Hasn't graded anything yet, which is annoying. Make sure to ask for clarification on homework because he doesn't always explain things in class.
Fantastic class all around!
Gives NO feedback at all! He grades NOTHING, comments on NOTHING, and the only time you know how you're doing is when he puts in the final grade. Pisses me off bc I don't know what I did wrong or right, so how exactly am I supposed to become a better writer? I worked so hard and got no explanation for my grade & I can't even do anything to raise it
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! 3 1,000 word papers, 2 1,500 word papers(midterm/final), 2 essays to do questions for weekly, and 2 current events presentations. Feedback is given but only upon request via email and it is a jumble of sentences that make no sense towards how to write better. TRUST ME FIND ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!!!!!!!
Awesome guy. Super cute and sweet. Wants his students to be well informed on the world. Had him for engl 101 and 102. There definitely was more work in 102. But always gives you the chance to pass things in late. He just wants his students to come and care. Overall, I love this man!
Very interested in current events, and is very vocal on his opinion of President Trump. If you do not like current events do not take his class. Very paper heavy, be prepared to write a 1,000 word paper every other week. He's very nice and easy going.
He really cares about his students and want them all to do well. The work load isn't too bad compared to other classes. Sometimes the lectures can go off topic, but it is all interesting information. This class definitely requires you to actually care about how you are doing - email for grades and comments back on essays. Overall a good class.
2 readings due every monday, 1,000 word paper every other friday due, 2 2,000 word papers, and 2 current events. Not terrible, the work helps you improve. but most classes are just about politics, but it's an easy class, and he is caring. Not a bad class/professor to take.
The essays you write are not that bad, you have a lot of freedom about what you wan to write. The essay readings due on Mondays are kinda annoying and feel they didn't add to much to my writing. But overall not bad and is really nice
Second time taking a class with Prof. Connor and both times were great. He is willing to help but you have to reach out through email and he will give you everything you need. The work load is a bit more than other classes but it isn't hard, writing papers on your choice of topic makes them easy.
I really enjoyed freshmen year english because of Professor Connor! He cares about his students a lot and wants to see improvement throughout the semester. He lectures about relevant things going on in the world around us and relates it to our english class. The work load is completely fair and as long as your on top of your work you will be fine!
Professor Connor is a well qualified teacher who cares much more than the common college professor. This class is writing intensive, so I understand that is not everyone's forte. He grades paper's much more leniently than other teachers. He has a lot to say and he respects all opinions.
This class was really enjoyable because Professor Connor was very interactive with his students, has a sense of humor, and is really smart. Ask him a question and he'll know the answer. He knows EVERYTHING because he's very educated and cultured, which is important. He cares about his students and POC. I would take his class again.
Stay on top of homework because its easy to fall behind, easy to contact via email and class discussions are nice helps you understand what's going on in the world.
Very great professor! lectures about relevant, current, and interesting topics/events. I'm not into english but he makes this class fun and interesting. the work load is more than other classes but as long as you put in effort you will succeed in this class. If you have the chance to take him definitely do, i would take him again if i could!
Great teacher. Although is political views lean towards one side more than the other, he always looks at the message and rhetoric of current events and incorporates them into his class. Very fun class to take, try and be involved.
Well prepared Knows topics well Cares about learning
Awesome professor! Had him for English 101 and specifically took him again for 102. He's got a great sense of humor, and cares about his students and their grades. His class is laid back and the topics of discussion are always interesting. Just make sure you stay on top of homework and blackboard responses it's very easy to fall behind.
One of the best professors around. Always has something to tell to the class which takes up most of the class. The reading is the most annoying part of class just because the questions are very long. There is a lot of reading throughout the year but he isnt hardcore on when you finish the readings questions as long as its by the end of the year.
if you participate in class then you will grow a great relationship with him. this is my second time taking him. you will learn some great things. I never could write a thesis statement as easy as I can now until taking this class.
You may need a book at best but you definitely wont need a textbook. Wont crucify you if you skip a couple classes but try and be there. Lectures are a lot of the class and open, if you show up and are half alive, youll pass. Good amount of essays but you have lots of time to do them. Very reasonable professor with due dates if you communicate
This was definitely my favorite class this semester. He's the reason I was educated on what was going on in politics and current events. A genuinely nice guy and actually cares about his students and teaching. He provides a good balance of work with casual conversation in class so I'm not dying of boredom. Very flexible with passing in work.
Shawn gave us a lot of weekly reading (roughly 4-6 articles a week) but the right ups for the week were short and easy. These are the majority of your grade, and youll have two fairly long essays to write. Overall one of the best professors Ive had!
Great professor
This was my favorite class this semester. Not hard at all as long as you do the work. Great professor and cares about his students. He is very easy going and understanding. I recommend this class.
He is so respectful and caring for his students I loved taking his class , and I would definitely take another class with him .
One of the best Professor / teachers, that I have ever had.
pretty chill guy, would take class again
Pretty straight forward for what he is expecting of you. The essays that you do are essay only three of them. You do have homework every night. You do two presentations. Overall fun class.
He's a cool guy. He keeps his students informed on the news and important topics. The class is explanatory. Get ready to work but it's not much. There is homework almost every night but they're easy and take up to an hour tops. Be prepared when coming to class. It's a fun and good class, take him!!
He has a schedule for the whole year so there is no surprise work. You do two rhetorical presentations, with a partner and without. The homework is usually read a chapter answer some questions or write 250 words on a topic. He also goes step by step through the essays and will give you constructive feedback.
Professor Connor is incredibly engaging and makes class very enjoyable. He relates class to current events and makes it exciting! I would for sure take another class with him. The homework is very easy as well. No complaints. )
Best english professor Ive had, the essays read covered relevant themes and all of the work was enriching.
Professor Connor was not the best but also not the worst professor I've had. The biggest thing was that the prompts/ questions/ etc for papers were unclear. He would assign homework's that he said would have to do with our essays but not tell us beforehand or the reasons behind them. I would not take him again. homework heavy.
Professor Connor is a great guy who cares about his students and is passionate about the course material. His lectures are exciting and keep the class up to date with current events. Certain homework assignments on the syllabus are slightly unclear, but overall the course is straightforward. He does grade essays very aggressively.
He is a very nice and caring professor that cares for his students. He is really funny and makes English class enjoyable. There is a lot of work to do for this class with homework due almost every single class. If you do not mind all the work this is a professor for you.
Prof Connor is very organized and will help you through all of your assignments if you happen to need it. The schedule he gives in the syllabus is a little inaccurate, but he will will tell you everything you need to know if you're unclear on what to do. The feedback you get for assignments really tells you what he wants, and is helpful.
Professor Connor gives out journal entries everyday 300 words and expects them to be done right away. He gives out a syllabus with the class schedule for the semester. He's a tough grader. He likes putting people on the spot asking why they haven't done their homework. If you're 2 minutes late he'll say it loud enough for the entire class to hear.
Not a hard grader, gives help every chance he gets even through email, may have a few essays to do but not on hard topics he helps you through them. Hes very understanding of situations if you come to him. Homework every day but if you do it on time it doesnt pile up and its not too much work that you cant handle it. Gives good feedback
Professor Connor is an supportive teacher, and gives constructive feedback on most essays. Sometimes his solutions to your problems are unclear, but when you email him he will email back. If you are looking for a good Professor for English 102, I suggest you take him, as he makes the class interesting, and is less harsh than most.
Solid feedback on papers and tells you what he expects, rubrics would be pretty nice to have since essay requirements sometimes are unclear. Other than those solid guy and definitely would take again.
Your always kept up to date about what is happening in the world when walking into his class. He gives a lot of lectures and discusses the reading we did the day before. There is a lot of reading (40 homework assignments total)
Such a GREAT professor! Yes there is assigned homework almost everyday, its nothing you cant do. The essays that are assigned are not bad at all. However, Hes a tough grade when it comes to essay, Ive always received B. Hes very helpful, loves to communicate. I just wish he could post my grades on blackboard.
Prof. Connor is an easy going professor. He begins class talking about politics which makes it interesting. He gives 3 essays and allows you to chose your topics. The essay prompts are sometimes unclear but as long as you meet the requirements youll be good. He gives a lot of homework but its usually short and easy. Highly recommend him!
Overall, I enjoyed Professor Connor's class. It is very lecture heavy and homework is assigned almost every night, but it is honestly not too challenging. Hard grader when it comes to papers, but gives a lot of feedback and opportunity to achieve a better grade. Readings were pretty interesting too, not bad!
Overall pretty chill professor but gives a lot of homework assignments so it is easy to fall behind. Usually starts every class with news and politics so you will always be caught up with our world. Actually have to show up to pass and be involved in class, because if not you won't pass. He genuinely cares about his students and their success.
I started this class fairly enthusiastic and put quite a bit of effort into all the homework, reading, and papers. I began to lose interest because the homework was never graded so I was unaware if I was putting in an adequate amount of effort. The class would be better if he gave less hw and more feedback.
Great teacher, talks a lot. Get the class very involved in the world around us.
Prof. Connor is a great professor who if you work hard for and show up to class is an easy class. But if you tend to slack of on homework/attendance I wouldnt recommend him to you.
You can tell from the start Shawn's a great guy and a great professor. The class isn't hard at all, just keep up with the daily journal exercises and come to class. Absolutely an easy A.
Really like the class, amazing lectures.
If youre dreading English and want a class that wont make you feel horrible, I suggest professor Connor. He spends most of class talking about interesting topics that later relate to your papers. Hes very laid back but makes sure you get work done. If you fall behind, he understands and gives you time to catch up. I highly recommend him!
Wonderful teacher! This isn't a class you just miss everyday and expect to get a good grade, in fact you will barely pass. However, if you want to get a good grade you MUST participate in class discussions and peer editing. Professor Connor gives quality and sincere feedback. He also makes very clear how he's gonna grade you.
Great Professor helpful and responds in a timely fashion
I took professor Conner for my ENGL 101 course at my freshmen year he is the most amazing professor I have ever seen, he knows a lot of good stuff and he teaches students with passion which reflects on the student performance I would recommend everyone to take his classes. He gives weekly journals which are easy to do and you have to write 2 papers
By far one of the best professors i've had. Participation and respect is a must. More than 3 absences will affect your grade. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
he is a very good teacher, you just have to keep up with the homework. It's an easy class.
Is a really good and understanding teacher. Is always listening to your ideas and opinions and actually cares what you say. Would highly recommend having him as your professor.
Overall this class was relatively easy. Most of the issues that stemmed from taking this course didn't necessarily come from the course at all. I felt that most of my issues this semester were just motivation based however, Professor Connor made the home/class work seem like more of an experience than a chore. Making me want to stay on track.
I enjoyed this class. I think that making the syllabus more understanding and less confusing to find things would be more helpful. I know I fell back a few times because I couldn't find things, but then I got back on track. Overall, everything besides that was fine. Sometimes things got hard and stressful, but I did my very best that I could.
I overall enjoyed his class. I met some amazing friends in the class. He definitely knows his stuff, has us read interesting essays and articles, and really wants you to succeed. But sometimes he can get a little too political in the class and some assignments can be confusing, but overall its a good time.
really great professor has helped me a lot. I even chose him for next semester to take eng102. he does give an excessive amount of homework but this can help you raise your grade up and he gives positive feedback on your assignments really good professor
Professor Connor is a great teacher, I would take his class again.
Great professor who you can tell really cares about what he teaches. There are a few papers and a lot of reading but the content of the class is very interesting, even if you arent into comics or comic movies. Also, you get to watch a few clips! Worth taking as an elective or an English requirement.
Professor Connor was great! It was a Comic Book theory class, and while I was expecting to watch comic book movies all semester, I was actually challenged by this course! We reviewed all kinds of different viewpoints of how a film could be filmed, and looking at films through a different viewpoint that I never would have thought of before!
Amazing guy. I definitely would take him again in an instant.
I decided to take the Comic Class (Literary Types) with Professor Shawn Connor. Hands down, he is the best English professor Ive had in my three years here. Great humor and personality, it is difficult to not get along with this guy. Hes caring about your grade and will have no problem guiding you to finishing strong. I highly recommend him.
Very passionate about his craft as a professor. Pours his soul into lectures and helped excel me to become a better writer. Comic Film Theory is pretty goooood 10/10.
Easily the best professor I have had in my 2 years of BSU so far and one of the most passionate teacher I've had in any school. Not perfect (sometimes, he can be too passionate and lose track of time for what we need to go over), but definitely a keeper. Would recommend on the basis that you take his Comic Film Theory/Film Theory course.
Professor Connor is a very informative teacher who is always willing to help answer questions about the class. The only problem I had with his class is the essay prompts were a little vague and up in the air. Also be prepared for philosophy, as that is the heart of this class. Overall, I would take a class with this professor again.
This was a flagship class by Prof. Connor. It focused on Literary Theory as it translates to film -with a stress on Comic book movies (Marvel Universe, mainly). The text was self-admittedly difficult to understand and the professor, while enthusiastic about the subject matter, did little to clarify the theories other than a few summary lists.
Very nice class and one of my favorite ones this semester and made settling in very easy. I plan on taking his class again next semester.
Professor Connor is an amazing professor, and cares a lot about his students. He always tries to push you to your best, and offers help whenever he can. No tests, no quizzes, but a few papers. If you show up and put effort into papers then you'll be fine. Overall great class, 100% would recommend.
Hes a great and genuine person, He understood what I am going through and helped me with my essays
Good teacher
Pretty good teacher, he cares about the students a lot.
Overall a great teacher, relates things to the students, gives life advice, a clear grader. Do your work; you will pass the class. Doesn't get much more straight up than that. A simple pretty much pass or fail class.
Great professor, dont give tests. He relies on communication so participation in class is a must with in the endnote is very helpful. One thing I dont like isnt hat you dont know your final grade until the very end, wouldve been helpful to get grade every now and then
Overall a very enjoyable class.
He is a really good professor. He teaches about current events and uses interesting articles and stories. Highly recommend him, my favorite class I took this semester by far.
he gets really distracted by politics and loves to rant about politics, but he does do a good job with making the class interesting and the class I took was a writing in new media class at Stonehill because he teaches both at Stonehill and Bridgewater.
Very intelligent and informative, very respectful, makes class interesting by keeping content up to date with the modern world.
Not a lot of work. Papers are given a lot of time to write. Due dates are flexible. Engaging class. Fun environment
Professor Connor is a very good teacher who keeps lectures relevant and entertaining. Attendence and participation is important. Also gives good feedback on papers.
Good lectures but tends to be bias in many of them.
Professor Connor cares about the success of his students. He makes it clear exactly what he wants done on his papers, and is willing to work with his students on their work. He also likes to keep his students informed on current and relevant issues.
Really interesting and enjoyable class, he is a funny and laid back professor, if you do all his work you will get good grades, he can be a tough grader but not if you explain yourself well and have good grammar. Highly recommend the course and professor!
A good professor that really tries to help you out with your writing ability in every way possible. He likes to teach current events, more specifically political current events and tries to be neutral with his views, but it doesn't really work. He expresses his leftist views and ideas very often. Overall, he is a good man who wants to help you.
In this class, there is minimal difficult homework assignments and not many writing assignments. Classes are always interesting and easy to stay engaged. This class consists of going on twitter and other media platforms and talking about new posts and whats going on in the media at that time.
Enjoyed the class showed respects towards students and engaged in numerous conversations of real-world happenings and news. Lots of political talk and slander. Essays were manageable and gave free roam with prompts
Alot of writing but he is very helpful and gives ample time for each assignment.
Help improve your writing skills, not very hard to complete tasks. Allows you to write about what ever you want and it can be on films, shows, etc.
The book we used was really confusing but he did a well job of explaining it in class
Really enjoyed Prof. Connor's class. He is a great guy who makes his class engaging. I felt his method of work assignments (a rolling google doc) became quite messy and confusing very early on, and stayed that way. He gives few assignments, but plenty of opportunities to fix your grade through the semester. Participation and attention required.
He's a real good guy, and his class is really chill. The only problem is Prof Connor is literally all over the place. What he assigns in class usually differs from the syllabus, and it's always a guessing game to what is due, and when it is due. Love the guy, but his disorganization seeps from his class and into my life to create unnecessary stress
I don't like writing that much, but I feel like my writing improved significantly and I enjoyed him as a person in general
This class helped me perfect my writing skills and abilities to a college level. I liked how we went over our essay drafts in class, to give us a better understanding of what we had to do.
Class was fun. Notes were easily accessible so there was no excuse.
He's a really nice, enthusiastic guy, who seems like he cares about the students and their work. However, he gets off topic easily, and as a result it never felt like we got through what his syllabus wanted us too, each day. If you're slack on the homework, you're in luck because he gives good notes throughout the entire class.
Professor Connor's class is super interesting, and even though there is a lot of reading and a few fun tangents, it is definitely worth taking for a writing course.
He is a really funny and nice teacher. He makes the class really informative and fun how he relates what we are learning to comics and movies. I would suggest to be more clear with homework and describe what he actually wants us to do for homework. I really enjoyed his class and I'm really happy that I took it.
Nice guy but not quick to respond to emails
Solid Choice, watch out for the Critical Theory text book.
If you need help with an essay definitely go to him before you start your outline or draft. He is super helpful with brainstorming for essay topics and ideas if you actually ask him for feedback during workshop times. He grades super reasonably if you put in the effort to complete the work and its really not that much if you stay on top of things.
Professor Connor made this class fun, easy to follow along and enjoyable. He really pushes for students to succeed in his class and makes sure he is available for any and all questions. If he is lecturing he is constantly asking questions to make sure his students are understanding and is willing to stop and clarify whatever is not understood.
Overall, Professor Connor is a great professor. He always gives clear, direct feedback and will be honest with you about your performance in class. He gives plenty of time to complete a paper, sometimes even in class which is helpful.
Always willing to help improve students' writing in class and gives good feedback on what to do better in the future.
I took Prof Connor's comic film class as a cornerstone and I'm glad that I did. Writing theory is by no means the most interesting thing in the world but Prof Connor applied and taught it in a way that was interesting and fun. I enjoyed coming to class and he is a great guy. I wish it revolved less around comic movies and more just regular film.
This class is very interesting, even without much knowledge of comics it is a great class to be apart of. I came into the semester with a fear that I wasn't going to be able to keep up but Prof. Connor told me that I could get it done and I did! I loved this class, would recommend!
Professor Connor's class was really good if you like comic movies and super heroes in general. I would recommend the course because the only downside is that you don't really know your grade in the class. Overall his lectures were really interesting and I learned a lot about writing college essays.
I took a class called "Comics and Culture" taught by Professor Connor at Stonehill College. Professor Connor is passionate about what he teaches and cares about his students understanding of the course. He is a fair grader and will note when hard work is put in. I recommend anyone to take a class taught by Professor Connor.
He knows what he wants and encourages students to do them. Some of his topic questions for essays may be difficult to understand or do them without thoroughly asking him; so you as a student have to ask! He also gives feedback for your essays. I took my film/comic theory course with him. I wish I could get to see more films as examples in it.
A lot of lectures but they're interesting and it's cool to see how movies tie into the material, which also helps make the material easier to comprehend. I have been able to become a better, stronger writer, and I know that his formula for thesis statements was invaluable and will be used by me for the rest of my academic career.
Helped me write better essays
Professor Connor is great. He takes time to meet with students, he answers any question asked in full length, and he is very helpful. This comics course talked about different ideas in great length. He accommodated students who did not know any comics. Instead, he would teach films they liked and understood, I highly recommend this class.
Very understanding that many students are having a hard time with online classes. Gave me an extension on my paper when I emailed him about a problem. As long as you put in effort, you'll get a good grade.
He loves to give an unholy amount of homework to do. Does not understand the meaning of military service and why one cannot be in his class, therefore I lost point for lack of attendance because of that. Would not take him again. Definitely the most difficult professor Ive had to work with.
Professor Connor is my favorite professor. He's funny. His syllabus is easy to use and contains a ton of information. It seems like if you just do the work, you get a good grade. He talks about rhetoric in the news and current events which can be super interesting. We have a lot of homework. Mostly readings, thesis statements, and 4 essays.
I was suggested by a friend to take Professor Connor's English class. There is a lot of reading homework with multiple articles a night, not all being super interesting. They all do correlate with what it is being done in class or what the next essay topic is. 5 essays throughout the semester most not being too bad. I would suggest taking him.
He is a professor that cares about how you do. He is a tough grader but it shows that he truly wants to make sure you get the subject. Yes there is a lot of homework, but it's college so you're bound to get a lot of homework. Overall, a very respectful teacher that cares about his students and truly wants them to succeed.
Professor Connors class is a solid choice when looking at classes. He is very easy to reach outside of class and very easy to talk in class. However, he gives A LOT of reading homework and doesnt even grade it all until the end of the semester. The essays he assigns are hard to understand but the rubrics are very clear on what to include in it.
Very nice professor who definitely cares about his students. He assigns a lot of reading as homework so just be prepared to stay on top of it. He's a fair grader as long as you get the work done., it is much more reading heavy than English 101. I would choose to have him as a professor again for sure!
A good professor who makes the class relevant to what we see going on in today's society surrounding the essay topics and readings we do in class. Be prepared to read and respond to some lengthy articles a few days out of the week. Essays are not too bad as you have a very clear rubric to follow and can choose the topic that answers the prompt.
Professor Connor is a nice and respectful great professor. As difficult as online classes can be, I was able to learn something each class we had. The class is overall quite easy to finish off with a very good grade. The professor is always opened to help answer any questions students might have during or even after class through email.
Professor Connor is a great teacher. He is always willing to offer help and tips for your writing along with any other class questions. He does assign a good amount of readings but they are fairly easy reads.
Good professor with a lot of knowledge and seems to care about his students. However, at times it seems like there is an overload of work.
Professor Connor is an amazing professor, he is caring, understand and truly want's his students to succeed. He does assign a lot of work and is tough on grading, but only because he truly want's his students to learn from his class. He is understanding but not dumb. He is a genuinely good professor and I would take his class again.
A list of homework assignments is given but is confusing and it is hard to keep track of assignments
Professor Connor is great and helps if someone needs it. He takes time to explain things even out of class. Sometimes the workload for the class is a lot! Instead of being able to do the work properly it might be more of a checklist - doing it so that it is done in the time given but not doing it as well or intense as it could be with less work.
By far the worst professor Ive ever had. No help whatsoever.
professor connor is a very good teacher to have. although somtines the homework can be a lot it is still managable and is easy to find. He has a lot of knowledge and seems to genuienly care for his stdents and what he is teaching.
If you have questions that he can't answer he is available when you need him outside of class, in my opinion he responds in a timely manner.
Good professor, sometimes the workload is a little too much. I is very easy to fall behind.
Prof Connor is a great guy who truly cares about his students. He thoughtfully picks out readings relevant to what he is teaching. His class consists of 4 papers, along with homework and class work. He is flexible and understanding. My only issue was that his class is extremely hard to navigate. He is disorganized and assignments are hard to find.
10/10 recommend taking Professor Connor. He's super nice and funny, gets off topic sometimes but makes his way back somehow. If you don't watch news he will tell you everything you need to know, He gives you some essays but nothing stressful and is very clear what he wants from it. It's been amazing to have him as a teacher.
Good professor, nice and funny. Keeps you educated on the news and what's going on in the world, with knowledge behind the news he's sharing. The homework workload is a lot. Answers emails fast and wants students to succeed always available to give feedback and help.
I would 110% take Professor Connor again I think he was a great dude. The class has a massive work load, so be prepared to do a ton of work every week. It is very easy to fall behind if you miss one assignment though he is very understanding.
I very much-loved having Professor Connor this semester! I've felt very overwhelmed on some of the long essays, but he helped lessen my anxiety on it by breaking it all down of what he expected to be on it.
Amazing professor, he cares about his students and makes everyone feel welcomed. Class is laid back a good morning class to take. There is also a pretty easy schedule to follow. I would highly recommend professor Connor.
Honestly, one of the best teachers I have had for English. He truly cares about the subject and puts his heart into each little thing for the class. Very helpful to other students and his class is very easy to manage. Just work on two homework assignments that are short essays, and then occasionally work on big essays that are very manageable!
Do the work, and he'll make sure you pass. Best professor I've had at this school.
Best Professor at BSU
Good professor overall. Very caring about your ideas and input. Makes the class interesting to learn about and funny. Homework isn't too much but, when given can be difficult. No textbook either.
very good at keeping lectures interesting, and accommodating, only thing is he isn't always super clear on instructions for the weekly assignments.
Makes class interesting, genuinely cares about the subject he is talking about and his students, workload is fair and he is super understanding. Just manage your time and stay on top of things. Definitely would take again.
- One of my favorite professors at Bridgewater. - Lectures are informative. - Passionate about course material.
I would like to say that prof.conner is the best professor to go to when you need help with something. The course is pretty easy, you just got to do the work and actually put in effort. He tries to make the class entertaining and respects others around him. Highly recommend having him as a professor.
Professor Connors is my second English professor at Bridgewater State University and halfway through the semester I have nothing but good things to say. He covers important topics right from the first part of the semester and understands rhetoric very well. He was also talk about current events and is engaging.
Interesting class and teacher is motivated
very knowledgeable guy who knows what he is talking about. gives good feedback/helps edit your work to be as good as it can be. a lot of assignments/papers but its a102 class. i am a little intimidated by him but hes not mean he just likes to get stuff done. We also have good discussions in class about controversial topics which is cool.
Professor Connor brings up good current events that relate to the overall subject of the class. It is good to see a professor provide up to date examples for the subject we are learning. In this class I am seeking to strengthen my thesis statements when writing and understand how to write in different rhetorical styles.
Great Professor. material he used was fun and it was things we could relate to
Very nice guy, lectures are great since he's passionate about the subject he's teaching. very helpful. would def take a class with him again
Prof. Connor is really nice and easy to talk to. The course can be challenging at times. The classroom consists of a lot of lecturing about politics.
He is by far the best professor I had all semester. He gives you clear instruction, is understanding, and replies quickly to emails. Yes, he talks about politics, but is clear to not sway either way, teaching the class rhetoric used in politics. He lets you write about things you are passionate about, would take this class again.
Very nice guy, but too political and gives the same exact kind of homework every week, gets very boring which makes it hard to do.
Professor Connor is very flexible and enjoys going out of his way to be there for his students. There are two Journal entries due each week with one being about current news/media and the other being an independent practice. Just stay on top of the work and you will get a good grade as he is very understanding about life outside of class.
I appreciate Professor Connor's class schedule. He gives us time to work in groups as well as individual work time which allows understanding the content more. He is very helpful and organized. Assignments are easy because you know what to expect. I would take this class again.
He enjoys talking about current events and makes class interesting. He has the same schedule for each week but the homework he gives you is due on sundays. Hes a professor that cares about his students if you mess up and show that you want to do better he will work with you and help you understand and will let you redo it to show that you know.
Nice guy and good teacher. Very political though and can be a bit much.
If you're addicted to twitter and love politics, this is the perfect class for you. The class is a medium difficulty, you have to do 2 assignments per week (cultural and lesson plan response) and you have 3 essays in the semester. Not bad overall
Very chill! If you just show up and do the work the class is actually very enjoyable.
Good guy, enjoyable class, but a very tough grader.
I liked how he focused on rhetoric in the real world because that is likely where most of us will use it in our lives. Every week was separated into three parts; I enjoyed having this type of structure because I knew what to expect coming into each class. This course is very organized and easy to do well in if time managed correctly.
Professor Connor is great. I had him for ENGL 101 and 102 and I would retake his class. His lectures are engaging and exciting and the homework pertaining to the lectures was actually not bad at all and didn't take much time. He is funny and cares for his students! He allows many opportunities for extra credit and gives good feedback! 10/10
Professor Connor is a great professor, just takes some getting use to his teaching style.
Pretty straight. forward work not too hard
Minimum of two assignments per week, pretty political, loves twitter
Politic heavy, but knows what he is talking about and will help you when you need it.
Great person. 2 writing assignments every week (300 words is the highest one). Gets teaching points across.
I enjoy the CR's the most. You challenge your students to go outside of the box and to write about things that they might not even know about. Personally I love that as a writer and a student. The LPR's I do like them they just aren't my favorite. I don't know what it is about them but it is what it is lol. Thank you for inspiring your students!
Weekly there are 2 writing prompts due on Sunday nights, they are usually small. Everything is laid out and all the resources you need are made accessible at all times. He is very passionate about his teaching and is open to hearing other arguments. He might seem tough but he is pushing everyone to be the best that they can be.
This course is pretty self explanatory. I do not like how mostly every assignment we have is talking about rhetoric. I like how clear directions are given that we are included a lot of resources to help us throughout our work. Grading is a little harsh though. Overall, I would take this class again.
I actually really enjoy this class. All of his assignments, course guide, expectations, and syllabus are all very accessible making this course so much easier than my other classes. Be prepared to write a minimum of 500 words a week and be prepared for lectures.
good course if you like current events
Professor Connor is amazing. He keeps the class interesting and relates the content to what's going on in the real world. He is also very organized and gives good descriptions of assignments in class and on the schedule. However, I wish his Twitter was more organized for the CR assignments. Sometimes it's hard to find the exact articles we can use.
Professor Connor gives a reasonable work load, and talks about interesting things in class. You can always expect the same homework each week, a cultural response (CR) and lesson plan response (LPR). I would take Professor Connors class again, and I would recommend his class to others.
He displayed material clearly and on every Monday discussed how the week was going to look. He is very caring and cares what goes on. His ability to convey the material is very clear.
This course contains an average amount of writing, he is very fair and provides a lot of knowledge to his students.
Professor Connor is a very political & strong with ethics throughout his course. We get the same assignment every week just on a different topic, I wish he would change it up a little Very fun class if you like politics, gets students involved as much as possible
I think his class is very informational but the CR very political heavy u feel like it can be a little more inclusive with what he wants I to write about. And for the LPR i feel like he should give us more time to write it because I always get so stressed. Maybe introduce it on Mondays then go over it again on Friday
Shows genuine interest in what he teaches and wants students to participate. Homework can be overbearing at times and finding assignments when you are absent can be difficult at times due to the schedule sometimes being off. Overall a good professor.
Allows students to form own opinion while unbiasedly showing both sides of the story
Professor Connor is very clear on his expectations and is very well organized. If you need help, he is happy to give feedback and insight.
I appreciate that Professor Conner does not give too much heavy homework because its very easy for work to pile on. He is understanding and willing to work with students to help them get a good grade.
This class would easily be a 5 if it was less political. Almost every CR or LPR has something to do with politics or news that's going on in the world at the moment. I think the Class is setup perfectly. He is a good teacher. Someone who likes politics I highly recommend.
Only critique I could impose is the syllabus is annoying to go through with all the links you need to click to get where you need to be. Other than that the class is insightful and I enjoy coming to the classes.
He. is very easy to talk to and he also helps you with any work if it's needed and explains everything if you have any questions
The class is very easy if you pay attention in class. great prof.
this professor is good at communicating with students, goos at explaining assignments and giving you a clear view the assignment
He's a cool professor. Grades relatively easy. Show up to class and do the two easy assignments every week then this class should be easy for anyone that takes it.
The class I am currently taking is very informative about current day news and conflicts. I am glad I am taking this course because it helps me learn about worldwide issues I most likely would not be aware of. As a student I have had plenty of time to do homework throughout the week.
He is a very passionate teacher, and he cares a lot about what he is teaching us. Would definitely take his class again.
Actually cares about what how you feel about what we are going over in class
He's good professor, he does talk a lot but you can tell he cares and he's takes time through his day to get ready for class. Homework every week but besides that its not too hard. Blackboard is difficult but that's not his fault, I think he should also give the option to write on paper as well.
Very caring professor, great class discussion, gets students involved, light work load, would 100% take his class again.
I am currently taking him for ENGL 101 and hes the absolute best professor I've had so far. I'm taking him again next semester too for ENGL 102. He's very understanding and will take time to make sure you understand the material. His homework is always due by Sunday. He is a great professor. Trust!
i hated english in high school but loved his class. there was two small writing assignments every week due and only two big papers. the assignments are so easy if you pay attention. such a laid back guy
This class was very manageable and more engaging than my English classes in high school. I definitely recommend taking him for English 101 and 102 as the workload is manageable and there are only 2 essays and up to 300 words per week for assignments.
It's a simple class with two weekly assignments, due on Sunday at midnight. Grading is clear, and it is easy to get a 100 if you follow the directions and complete it on time. Professor Connor is a good professor who is very nice and respectful.
Looking back to the beginning of the semester I remember our first group discussion and what I remember most was how well it wasn't not just because of the people I had in my group but because of how easy Professor Connor made it and how clear it was.
Professor Connor was an excellent teacher with clear goals, criteria, and assignments. Never did I feel I was thrown into an assignment without understanding what was asked. Personally, I kept up really well during the entire semester, all assignments are well scheduled and well formatted. I think the class is excellent for a basic required class.
A lot of unnecessary work for essays. A great professor but the amount of questions he has you answer for the sources you'll be using for your essays are repetitive and heavy. You have to find 10 sources and answer 19 questions in complete sentences per source. All adds up to about 20 pages of writing with over 5,000 words every Sunday night.
Professor Connor gives a lot of helpful feedback on the assignments, even though there are a lot of them they are all there to help you with upcoming essays or assignments. He cares a lot about the subjects he is teaching and wants to know your opinion on the topic he talks about.
Homework is super excessive and super repetitive, politic focused class, he's organized and explains everything very well. Very difficult with attendance, just a few minutes late you will be counted as absent. Assignments start getting boring after the first because it's the same process over and over again.
I have not had any issues with professor C he has helped in everyway he could, if there was one thing for me to add if I were him is a little more explanation on directions early on in the semester as I wrote a essay that allowed me to skip 101 and I had no clue the expectations and barely understood the directions the first couple assignments.
Great professor. Very helpful when it comes to explaining and helping with an assignment. Doesnt give work that isnt necessary. Even if it seems like it a lot, in the end it will make essays ten times easier to write.
A good amount of busy work. Especially when having to answer 21 questions about 10 different sources. Sometimes it isn't clear about directions, especially in the beginning of the course. Nice guy. Do your work on time and stay up to date because if you're behind, you will not catch up and he won't let you catch up.
The work is easy and can be done but it is time consuming. I prioritize this class over others because if I didn't I wouldn't be able to get it done. It is very important to not procrastinate in this class. Overall, it is a great course I enjoy talking about topics that are currently happening because it makes it easier to be engaged in class.
Professor Connor is a good professor. There are a couple of weekly homework assignments, they can be very time-consuming depending on what it is. You will have plenty of time to complete an essay and be prepared for the due date. Professor Connor provides resources and tools to help with writing and research for an essay. I'd recommend the course.
Awesome professor, definitely one of my favorite so far. The class can be hard at times, especially when assignments are due. I usually have to prioritize this classwork over my other classes to keep up. The assignments are lengthy and there is no time in between essays. Super interesting lectures and overall I like the class.
Professor Connor is a very down-to-earth guy and is understandable and flexible. He is accommodating and gives amazing feedback. He is willing to work with you out of class.
Professor Connor was great for 101, but after taking 102 with him I don't think I would take him again. 102 is double the amount of work, and it's tedious. The research evaluations are excessive and time-consuming. This class is way too political for me personally, and he says he doesn't show bias but he definitely does. Overall a nice guy though.
Great professor. Cares about improving your writing and you will become a better writer taking his class. He is biased towards the left but makes it clear. He is willing to discuss views that oppose his and will listen. Professor Connor at times seems lack the full context of some political situations. Which tends to stem from the biases he has.
Essay outline assignment is a lot, but it does help with the essays.
Professor Connor very clearly cares about his students success and well being. However, the work load in his class is sometimes hard to manage for a full time student like myself. For example the 200 repeated questions on the LPR assignments. Good teacher but a few things that would make the class better if changed.
I liked him at first but not anymore. He says he doesn't put his opinion into things but he clearly does and i now hate the class. This was my first time taking him and I do not recommend. I have to prioritize his class over others. And if you are a republican don't take this class. He will make it his duty to tell you your opinion is wrong.
Professor Connor is straightforward. Many say that he's unapproachable because he comes off aggressive, but it is solely to better yourself and your work. There was long homework and he usually gave 2 assignments a week which felt horrible, the long assignments made essays/research papers a lot easier and less time-consuming than usual.
Professor Connor discusses how rhetoric is used in everyday media. Some lectures/assignments felt long, but interesting. I was never invested in the news however, the course made me realize how insane people are with their words. As an introvert, the group work is painful. The research evaluation assignment was brutal but made papers simpler.
I genuinely enjoyed all of the lectures throughout the course learning about current rhetorical debates and issues going on in the world. The workload is somewhat heavy, but I could have done a lot better. Professor Connor will always be more than willing to work with you if you just talk to him. One of the best classes that I have ever taken
What I enjoyed about this course was the different and also wide variety of cases and rhetoric tools we were allowed to choose from such as the OJ trial and immigration. What I did not like however about the actual class was that the 200 questions we had to do for the essays.
Professor Connor was a fantastic professor. He was well organized, he has a syllabus set up every day of the course with links connected to each weekly assignment. His course load is minimal and is easy to understand and navigate. Professor Connor also wants his students to succeed and was very understanding when life got in the way.
Professor Connor is a very consistent teacher. There won't be a week where you do not know what is due or how to do something because he spells it out. The weekly assignments are simple for the most part and each assignment is one part of one of the three major essays he has for the semester.
Professor Connor's ENG102 class is challenging but rewarding. The workload is heavy, but the feedback is valuable. Engaging with the materials and using tools like unstuckstudy ai can help manage the workload. Despite some political leanings, the professor is fair-minded and open to discussion.
Professor Connor's English 101 writing rhetorically. He is very understanding and will help you if you put in the work and ask for help. You get four excused absences but if you have a valid excuse he's made exceptions. Everything is posted on the syllabus for due dates and when the quizzes are.
Prof Connor is a smart and intelligent person who grades kinda tough and you will write papers but they are engaging. Using politics and the current climate to further their classes discussion. He's funny and thinks critically and often shows current news from his bluesky account and encourages us to think critically about what rhetoric we see.
This semester's English course with Professor Connor was a great class. I especially loved our group discussions about the news...they were so interesting and made me realize how much rhetoric shapes the way we see the world. The assignments pushed me to think more critically and I can already tell my writing has improved because of it.
Scrolls through Twitter for 1/3 of the class periods, which was a waste of time. He brings politics into every class lecture. Sometimes isn't clear about directions. The work itself wasn't to hard. Total of 4 essays, with plenty of assignments between them. I personally don't like him as a professor, but he's an amazing person outside of class!
In this class, Writing Rhetorically, I liked the fact that we took a long time in class discussing the news and everything happening in the real world because I normally don't understand and I liked that the professor took his time explaining it.
In English 101 with Professor Connor, I found the lectures, discussions, and assignments engaging but sometimes overwhelming due to the fast pacing. The class improved my writing and analytical skills, though I need to manage my time better and seek earlier feedback. I also believe more peer review would benefit everyone in the class.
This semester has been a pretty rewarding and challenging experience, Ive learned a lot for both personal and academic growth. One of the key things was the exposure to new concepts and theories that have expanded my understanding specifically polotics. I feel so much educated about topics such as learning the rhetroic of polotics.
Lectures were engaging, Professor Connor does not talk about a certain topic for too long, and found everything to be at a good pace for me. The assignments were very manageable for me. I would just say try and show up to as many classes as you can, and keep up with the work.
I really enjoyed this class. We speak about important world issues.I think that it is very informal for people who usually dont look at the news.Even though a lot of people dislike politics, I think it is very important that we have discussions about it.We were able to speak about our opinions in a respectful manner and interact with our peers.
Lectures were engaging and enjoyable. The assignments and group work were well spaced and never felt overwhelming. If you follow the rubric and dedicate time to complete your work, you shouldn't have trouble earning a passing grade.
Great Professor! Highly recommend!
I think there could be more opportunities to individually work on writing with the professor's assistance in class. I found those parts of class to be the most helpful, and I would love it if there were more of them. Overall, this was a good class, and I would recommend it to others.
I really like Professor Connor. He gives great feedback and is overall a great teacher. He talks a lot about the news and politics but the course is all about rhetoric so it makes sense. He genuinely cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. I would absolutely recommend taking him and would take him again.
My experience in Professor Connor's rhetoric course was very good. My favorite part was at the beginning of class where the lecture didn't really feel like a lecture. I liked how he uses current events as a way to teach rhetoric. Not only did I learn about rhetorical strategies and how to use them, but I'm more up-to-date on news than I ever have.
I greatly enjoyed Professor Connor's Engl 101 Writing Rhetorically class. The class was structured in a way that felt laid back, yet was extremely informative. He was always available to help. Very fair grader and if you ever needed something he was free to talk! He respected all his students views, by far by favorite professor of the semester.
Professor Connor is a good teacher with very clear grading outlines and very fair grading. You know exactly what assignments you're going to have and when they're due. Just be prepared for talking about the news of the day every class for at least half the block.
Good teacher, I learned a lot about rhetoric and politics, easy grader, nice guy, easily connects. The class was easy and fun, a few big writing assignments but nothing crazy if you paid attention in class.
Great teacher, nice guy, teachers rhetoric and politics pretty well. A lot of writing, but nothing insane if you paid attention. Easy grader and very understanding professor. Would take again.
As long as you stay on top of your work and put in effort you'll do well. Good understanding guy just be upfront and honest and you'll do well.
He gives good feedback on work and makes assignments clear and directions accessible. I like discussing the news at the start of class to stay up to date
Great professor.
Prof Connor is an incredible professor. He takes time to talk to his students and gets to know them, he gives great feedback and is very understanding. If you have the chance to take any of his classes you 100% should. Very political driven discussions but they are incredibly informative. Amazing professor.
He is genuinely one of the best teachers I've had. He makes it a goal to keep us informed on what's going on in the world, and I genuinely appreciate that. The only issue I had was having to do stuff over break, but it's needed to keep us on track. The weekly reading quizzes are nice too, just check the syllabus for what you have to read that week.
Great professor, just be prepared for some heavy homework assignments that should be completed over multiple days rather than all in one sitting.
Overall a good teacher, good and honest feedback. If you get your work in on time and go to classes you should be fine. First 10 minutes of class he will talk about the news and keep us updated on what has been happening, mostly politics. You'll have a mini quiz every Monday about a NYT article but he gives you the questions, would recommend.
Overall, a great professor, but the only thing I would change would be to have reading quizzes every other week so we could have more time to focus on our essays and not have to worry about preparing for the Reading Quizzes on Monday.
A great professor but constantly pushes his opinions and political beliefs on everyone. I feel very uncomfortable sometimes. Other than that work is easy and gives a good amount of time to finish assignments.
Professor Connor is a great teacher who really gets you interested in the big things happening around the world and in our country as we speak. He talks about real-world issues that everyone should know. He connects with students personally and does not make us feel like we need to be too serious when in class.
classes are chill, he spends most of the time talking about news on twitter. workload isn't light but not that heavy.
Professor Connor is very open-minded to a lot of things. He values information and truly wants his students to leave his classroom with more knowledge about topics regarding politics, social media, life itself. He tries to get hipped to the Gen Z things so he's really fun for that lol. other than that he's an amazing professor.
I have taken Professor Connor's English 101 and 102 and honestly I have nothing negative to say. At times the work load can be a bit heavy with a few assignments a weekend but it is usually an average and respectable amount of homework. He is very friendly and really just wants to help you succeed. He is down to earth and respectable. Recommend.
Professor Connor is full of knowledge and extremely passionate about what he teaches. I would 100% recommend taking a course taught by him. He gets to know his students and cares!!
Starts every monday with the same test about different articles, super easy. He is a nice grader and is willing to help you with your essay if you reach out. over all 9/10 teacher. Super helpful and nice. Just make sure you do your work.
Genuinely had a great time having Professor Connor for the semester. Very helpful and wants to get the best effort out of his students. It may seem like tons of work at first, but it isn't too bad as the course goes on. Be prepared for daily reading quizzes though.
I enjoyed the beginning of class discussions on modern events. It gave me an opportunity to see what is going on in the world since I don't frequently see the news. I appreciated your input on the issues as it gave me a perspective to think about rather than the monotone story the news sets out.
While at first the class was stressful and tough, by quickly learning the expectations I needed to meet, and being able to communicate any questions or concerns with the professor, I thought it was a very enjoyable experience, and Professor Connor a great teacher. Fun environment, with lots of resources available to help you in assignments.
Mr. Connors is a great person that cares a lot about his students and encourages us to stay up to date on the news. His class offers a unique blend of school and real word topics going on and connects it back to the rhetoric we are using in class. Quizzes were hard and Mr. Connors is a very understanding person if you show effort in his class.
I took Professor Connor's class because of his great reviews and the fair workload. I enjoyed having time to work on essays and learning about current events in class. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the professor was passionate. I didn't enjoy the group work or Monday quizzes, but overall, the class was a great experience.
Mr. Connor is a great professor. He pushes everyone to do their absolute best and isn't afraid to encourage his students to ask him questions when needed. Even though his class had a lot of work, the work helped build our writing, which I found very beneficial. If you are a current student, don't be the one who regrets not taking his class.
Throughout Professor Connor's English 102 class I have taken a lot of information from it. This class has helped me learn to correctly format my thesis statements as well as taught me how to properly research my topic.
Professor Connor is one of the best professors you can have. He genuinely cares about you as a student and a person. All the work he assigns has a benefit to you. I have 100 percent become a better writer. I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Professor Connor is a great teacher and if you make sure to do the readings and show up to class it is a very accommodating class and an easy A if you put in the work.
In my personal opinion I enjoy when a teacher talks about events happening in the world around us. Adding to that also hearing his opinion on different topics gave me a different perspective.
Great Professor. I had the opportunity of taking both ENG101 and ENG102 with Professor Connor and highly recommend. Easy to pass if you pay attention and do the work. Do not be scared to ask him questions because he truly cares about his students!!
Overall decent but teaching style of professor isn't best for my learning and understanding ability.
He is so nice I love him so much. The only thing that could be improved would be a better explanation for our assignments. Sometimes I get a little confused but that might just be me.
Can you input a sample paper of the people who done a great job at an assignment and give as a guide to other students to say that's what you're looking for? When I finish my assignment I'm always feeling skeptical if I'm doing the right thing.
Great lectures on current, real world events that help enlighten and educate me. Assignments have great due dates, given a lot of time for every assignment which is good for balancing other classes. Never leaving class confused on what is due and what we learned that day.
sometimes when you email him he doesn't get back to you at all. He gives lots of papers in such little time which can be overwhelming.
He tries to organize his lessons via google docs but it just ends up being confusing and you get lost in the links. I end up opening 100 tabs to do one assignment. He is not well organized and the assignments and due dates can be hard to manage. He is not very clear on instruction and when you ask questions the responses are still not very clear.
He's not too difficult and is really understanding. He cares about his students and likes to talk about politics and current events, which makes class interesting. There's a quiz every Monday, so be ready. Most assignments are on Google Docs, so it feels easy to skip class since attendance says it's “mandatory,” but it doesn't really feel enforced.
One area that could be improved is the pacing of some assignments. At times, I felt that multiple major tasks were due close together, making it difficult to give each one the attention it deserved. . I sometimes waited too long to start assignments, which left me feeling rushed. Sincerely,Ryan
