Although he is ****, the class is very straightforeward...you do work, you get grade you want
Easley is the man! I had him for three political science classes. He makes class very fun and interesting. If you show up to class, you can easily get an A. I regard these classes as some of the funnest classes I ever took! So sign up and enjoy
awesome teacher. opinionated but respects others opinions. funny. keeps interest. you get the grade you deserve
Web Based course: The schedule of assignments was only posted about three weeks in advance at any given time. Tedious, arbitrary document analysis essay assignments pop up from time to time. Two texts read simultaneously take up alot of time, and although the cahpter tests are 25q multi-choice, the midterm was a gruelling timed 3q long answer essay

prof. easley is a great teacher, it was the best government class i've ever had. he's not to bad on the eyes either!!!
Awesome Prof, if you need this class or just want another class definitly take him, he's really nice and very interesting.
I liked his personality. I would suggest that you pick up a digital recorder because you won't have time to listen to his lecture and copy notes from the overhead. Very knowledgeable and funny. Midterm and Final are only on his lectures which kills your grade if you can't write fast enough. He does allow laptops last I heard but check it out.

Very good professor. Good personality, easy to get along with. Nice, fun class. Not hard if you pay attention. Definitely would recommend!!!
By far one of the most intelligent faculty members at the institution- brilliant, interesting, passionate and helpful. Great prof and great guy, wants to know his students and if vice versa.
Dr. Easley has complete command of his topic and makes it fascinating and relevant as well. You will LOVE American Goverment after this class. This class puts you right there with those paying top dollar at much pricier universities. You get the same quality level as you would at a more elite institution for community college prices.
I found this class to be very easy to understand. I also think that the material was presented in a clear and concise way. He makes class a thought provoking environment. I would highly recommend his class to the person that either just has a passion for political science or someone with just a little interest.
This is an easy class that is focused on the material and making sure that people learn the material. I also think that the material was presented in a clear and concise way. He makes class a thought provoking environment. I would highly recommend his class to anyone.
Great guy, fairly easy class as long as you read and pay attention
Easley was one of my favorite professors. He made learning about govt. fun. Make sure you take notes during class so you can get a good grade on final. The test were not hard at all. It was an easy class but you learned a lot at the same time. Way to go Easley!!!!!!
WOULD NOT RECOMEND TO TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE FROM THIS TEACHER. TEXTBOOKS ARE GREAT VERY INTERESTING MATERIAL, ONLINE TESTS ARE FAIRLY EASY, EXAMS ARE COMPLEATLY OPOSITE FROM WHAT THE TEXTBOOK HAS TO OFFER + 3 ESSAYS NEVER SAW A WEB BASED CLASS WERE YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO LECTURES THIS IS NOT A HYBRID CLASS. LECTURES ARE THE SAME AS TEXT BUT USELESS
Dr. Easley is a very good at his lectures. You do not have to attend any of his classes, whether you do web based class or in class because he records his classes and you can view them online. Has a good sense of humor, keeping his lectures easy to listen to. The only thing I'd ask of him to to turn up the volume on his recordings, just a hair.
Easley is an awesome teacher. I wasnt excited about taking American Government, but he made the class fun, interesting and thought provoking. Also nice that he records his lectures, so if you miss class, you can get the full lecture online. Readings every week and online quizzes, but this is a college class after all. I would reccmmen him to anyone
Great professor! Records lectures, which is great for online classes or students who have missed classes. Makes American Government interesting and fun.
he is not easy, this was the second class of his ive taken and it was online. He made the online lectures easy to listen to and to understand. His essay questions are hard but if you comprehend the information that was taught you'll be fine. The multiple choice questions were very hard and tricky. I reccomend him to anyone studying social sciences.
Not an easy professor. Taking web based class. Might get more out of lectures if online students could see what he was pointing out on the powerpoint or hear what the students are saying in the class. Not flexible at all, not willing to work with students or help out. Sounds like he'd be much better in person rather than web-based.
Great Teacher! He really makes learning Fun, I took his Online class and he made it doable. Just make sure you keep up with the work or else it can pile up very quickly. Definitely would suggest taking his class.
He seems to like better in campus students than online students, but I learned that he treats each student the same: with respect and consideration. Very helpful, write him any time something happens, with any problem you have and in the shortest time you will receive an answer. Highly recommended. Pay att. to the lectures is all you need for tests
Scared at the beginning, but with his help you get over it. Very helpful, any problem, don't hesitate, write him and you'll get the fastest answer ever. I like the respect he has for his students and for being fair with in campus and online students. Highly recommended and don't be intimidated. I started hard, but I made it. Good luck!
very good, but hard professor. had to study A LOT for his exams
Excellent Professor. I took his online class. It would be wise to be prepared to do a lot of work and study word for word his lectures. Exams are not easy, but I learned a LOT and loved the class in general.
He is kind of a DB, on a high horse about being a Dr. Speaks a language of his own so lectures are kind of hard to comprehend. The quizes are relatively easy based on the book. His tests are a pain, based on lectures only. Some multiple choice and the rest essay. So pay attention to the lectures and try to understandd him.
took his online class. quizzes were really easy and based off the book. exams are based off of his lectures, which he records during class and posts for online classes to watch :(. he is very helpful and raised one of my exam grades from an F to a C after i scheduled an appt with him. no other grades though, just quizzes and exams.
His tests are extremely difficult and he does not give study guides, but if you do badly he will go over them with you and alter your score if you can show that you understand the material. There are quizzes every week out of the book in addition to the tests on the notes, but they are pretty easy and all of the answers are in the book.
He is absolutely one the best professors at Tri-C. His passion for politics makes the lectures interesting and engaging. He is also super helpful and never makes you feel dumb. Even if Political Science is not your major, try to take a class with him. I guarantee you will not be disappointed and I hope you will enjoy the class as much as I did.
Dr. Easley's class is not easy, but he explains everything in great detail. He speaks in an advanced collegiant language so pay close attention, because the exams are based on lectures. Quizzes based on text book material. I hate politics, but it is a necessary evil and he makes sure you understand how our govt works and its importance. VOTE!
He is a good teacher however I listened to his classes online and his tests are horrible. There are so many questions that we do not go over in class making the test more of a guessing game.
This professor is horrible. I took an online course, and not once did I get a response to an email, he didn't stick to the syllabus, and he showed no help whatsoever. He didn't seem to care if the students succeeded or not, but rather cared more about throwing in random assignments without telling us about them. DO NOT TAKE. At least if it's online
Dr. Easley is a very passionate teacher. As long as you put in the work, you will pass. I was a online student, but he did allow online students to come to his in class lecture. I found him to be very interesting, and made a class that I was forced to take very pleasant. I hate politics, but he made the class fun!
Dr. Easley is a good teacher. If you like politics, take this class. If you don't, you should still be prepared to learn. It is not an easy A but it isn't hard. Tests are 100% from his lectures. He makes it interesting and is very knowledgeable. I recommend this class.
Prof.Easley is a great professor. He will help you if you need it. But his quizzes, book exam, midterm, and final are hard as hell. I recommend this professor but make sure you take good notes each class and re-listen to all lectures before each exam (lecture based exams) and read the assigned philosophy book and don't put it off.
Exams are HARD!!!!
He was absolutely great. Really a passionate teacher and solidified my hopes of becoming a political science major. He was awesome! Would recommend.
An amazing professor that is dedicated to teaching his class and helping his students. I have much respect!
An amazing professor with an extreme passion for politics. I've been to two state colleges and Tri-C and he is one of the most helpful I've had.
Very, very rude and not understanding in the least. If you read his syllabus, you would probably agree.
I took his online class and liked it a lot. Not much work has to be done. You listen to lectures and complete a few learnsmart activities. There are three tests. As long as you listen to lectures and read some parts of the book you will be fine. Nice professor who responds to emails. Strict on due dates
Test questions are mostly short answer with a few multiple choice. Listen to his lectures and take notes so that you know what you're talking about. He is willing to meet with you and give you back points if you can demonstrate that you know the material, but just got tripped up by some of the multiple choice questions. Very nice guy.
I have to say Dr. Easley is a passionate and knowledgeable professor. Strongly recommend his class if you are interested in politics. Get ready to read texts and put efforts, time and energy to it.
There is short weekly quizzes that are very simple and automatic A's. Other than that, there is 3 section exams throughout the course that are very hard. I am a straight A student and really struggled. You'll think the class is really easy until you start studying for that first exam. I took this class online and did not really enjoy it.
Professor Easley was an incredible professor. He has a deep understanding of the material and works very hard to make it accessible to students. He tried a new curriculum during my time with him--the book was terrible but his teaching was invaluable. He was willing to work with students who showed initiative. I would take his class again.
I took his online class and I really struggled. His exams are base on his lectures and get ready to write short essays answers. Youll have to do the book activities, which consist of pre and post test. The tests are worth 40% of your grades, they are a pain in the butt.
Professor Easley gave notes the whole class with a homework assignment each week (review the chapter from that week & take a online test on it, open book). His assignments are clear & managable if you put in the time. The 3 tests we took in class were challenging. The course can be difficult but he was always available for extra help.
Nice teacher, class is super boring though. If you are interested in politics you will enjoy it.
Great teacher! Enthusiastic and funny, and really knows his stuff. Always there for extra help if you need it - he posts all of the powerpoints along with recorded lectures online. Very approachable.
I took his online class, not too much reading but lots of lectures to listen to and annotate. Overall not a hard class, tests are open note but the questions are pretty difficult. Always quick to answer questions though.
From someone who knew nothing about politics, this professor has defiantly taught me somthing useful . He was a great teacher who was able to get the point across. He let us use our notes on all 3 test including the final exam . He may be my favorite professor at tri-c. Would defiantly recommend and would take his class again.
Professor Easley is the best professor I've ever had at Tri-C. I took his class online, and his lectures were always very helpful and informative. Tests could be tricky but open note. Most importantly, he was EXTREMELY helpful whenever I had a question or concern about the class. He is a fantastic guy and teacher, I would strongly recommend
I took this class knowing that as a Political Science major I desperately disliked International Politics and that I had to just get a passing grade so I could continue on to my law classes. I disliked the need to watch every single lecture and not being able to print them out and listening to others comment on lectures. Weekly quizzes were easy.
I took this class during the summer (8-weeks) this class needs a lot of time and energy to be placed into it so IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO GET TO WORK DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!. The lectures take to much time because it is filled with students talking about things that are not related to the class (the lectures are filmed in the past and are posted)
I took this class at the same time as I took POL2030. I also did this during the summer. I liked this class but the lectures were filled with students that would talk about things that were not related to the lectures (the lectures are filmed in the past and are posted online). The lectures are what kill this class they easily could be cut in half
I read the comparative politics book, didn't need the political ideologies book. The class wasn't difficult but there are few assignments so you can't mess anything up. That and the quizzes are multiple choice with more than one correct answer, you have to determine the most correct. Largely the answers are straight from the book and very specific
He's a nice guy but he doesn't give extra credit, you can't miss any assignments he doesn't care about the reason. His test are on his lecture and the midterm and Final are on his lecture. I don't think he gives you enough time to take the test and he give's short essay answer. I really don't understand his test. I will not be taking him again.
8 week The quizzes and homework saved my grade they are 40% and the (3) Tests are worth 60%. Lot of PowerPoints to go through and hard to figure out whats on test. PowerPoints are very entertaining I just couldnt figure out what material was important. Dont cram the PowerPoints you should do well in this class. 60s on 3 tests and I passed W/C
I absolutely love this teacher, taking another class of his next spring. His teaching is great, very passionate about teaching other the topic of government and politics. Online homework is kinda tough but as long as you read everything and pay attention you'll do great.
Took his class online. The online quizzes and activities are pretty easy but his tests are very hard. You watch his lectures, which are very long. Tests are what dropped my grade.
I took his online class and judging by what some previous people have rated him here I was expecting the worst. However, after taking this class I found it to be good. The homework and quizzes are relatively easy. The tests are hard, BUT if you carefully listen to the lectures you'll be fine. He even gave me an A even though I got an 89% in the end
Really fails as an Online teacher. Is very inconsistent with syllabus and grading. The lecture test's include questions that aren't even discussed then he realizes it and puts them elsewhere. Grading scale makes no sense. Book assignments are easy. But he doesn't provide any guidance on the exams. Not enough time to take tests calmly.
I heard bad things about him, it wasnt that bad. took this as a College credit plus in HS. I just wanted to get gov done with. I hate history, and took it online from home. All quizzes for MindTap are on quizlet. His tests are straight from lectures, write everything down from his videos! Open note Tests. Lots of time inbetween exams. time mngmt!
Took his class as a CCP student. Took it in person on campus. (for those who don't know CCP is a high school student taking classes at the college). His class is very lecture heavy and not definitely better to take in person. I even missed a few assignments and he let me redo them, when I emailed. Overall I loved his class and would take again.
I loved this POL101 with Professor Easley! He seriously had interesting lectures, and I don't even like government that much. He makes really detailed lectures that are virtually the same as a face to face class. His tests are straight from the lectures. There aren't any tests with surprise information. Overall he is a great guy and a great class!!
A good amount of lectures but easy to handle if you manage your time. Reading assignments and quizzes between lecture exams but a lot of time between everything to get it all finished. His lectures were entertaining and you could clearly tell he loves what he does. I never had to contact him because all of his announcements were very clear.
Dr. Easley really encourages you to do your best, and takes the time to help you if you don't quite get the content. He notifies you about exams early, but be sure to watch the lectures! The exams are based on the lectures (open notes), and quizzes are based on the book. It's easy to do well if you do the work.
This is the second class I've taken with Professor Easley as my instructor and I cannot express any other feeling other than positivity. The grading criteria is clear, the workload is manageable (and this was a summer class), and the test material was directly based off the lectures. I highly recommend everyone to choose Easley as their instructor
This professor was really inspirational, almost makes you want to change your major to Political Science. If you want to learn and show that you care about the topic, he will truly help you out and truly try to help you understand everything that is taught in the class. If you pay attention, you will learn a ton, and you will enjoy it!
I definitely recommend taking this class and taking this class with Professor Easley.
He seems to be really passionate about his field which is really inspirational. I took his online class, and it was lecture heavy. The quizzes and other assignments throughout the week were easy, but the lecture tests were kind of hard. You either have to go in for the tests or do ProctorU. Just take notes and you'll be fine. (open note tests)
Very full of himself and likes to hear himself talk. Gives long lectures about things irrelevant to his class just to seem cool. Is very rude responding to questions from students. Seems like he doesnt want to teach. Offers a terrible online layout and vague instructions to complete assignments, take it with another professor!
This was a great online class! The grading criteria is very clear and manageable. The book work and doc analysis are very easy, whereas the lecture tests can be difficult. Lecture exams are open notes so writing everything down from the lecture videos really helps a lot! Overall, with the class being online Ive learned so much about politics!
Dr Easley is passionate about teaching and political science. There are many lectures. You must take good notes if you want to do well. Hes accessible if you have questions and provides timely feedback. I learned so much from him!
I took the 8-week course: it was a lot of information in a short amount of time. If you could handle all the work given, it was an easy A. Only three tests and three papers. The tests were super simple and straight forward. I would take another class with Professor Easley.
He challenged me more than any other teacher at Tri-C, but he also caused me to learn the most. He's really a great teacher. He's passionate about teaching , and he will make you grow as a person and student. Be sure to pay close attention to his lectures. His lecture exams are very detailed.
I recommend not to take this class online! He only gives out lecture videos and questions to answer from books. The test questions/answers don't make sense compared to the lectures and homework. He's unhelpful, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES!!!!!
Has interesting lectures that are broken up into smaller sections that make it easier to digest information. A tough but fair grader. The class has a decent amount of work but if you manage your time well it's not overwhelming.
Detailed and entertaining lectures that he splits into 15 min sections so it's easier. Clear due dates+expectations. 3 tests with material from lectures, 2 doc analysis, chap textbook reading+assignment that takes about 1.5 hour per. I really learned a lot. He was very helpful when I was accidentally kicked from the class! Seems really nice!
I would take this class again. I really like Prof. Easley. He's knowledgeable about comparative politics. There is a textbook that has quizzes. Then he will have exams based on the lectures. YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE LECTURES OR YOU WILL NOT PASS THESE EXAMS. You will have 4 document analyses based on articles. I learned a lot through writing those.
His coursework is clear & the grading scale is listed. He is more than willing to meet with you via computer outside class hours (online class). I will take future courses with this instructor.
He did not teach and just made us watch super boring lecture videos that has nothing to do with the test material.
Very good educator, he understands the subject well and teaches in a profound manner making the class easier to understand.
Professor Easley gives clear requirements to pass his class. You have 3-4 weeks to watch lectures, do some online homework, read a few pages of a given paper, and take an exam. His lectures are very in-depth just listen to them and take thorough notes, and you will pass with a good grade! He is always willing to go over tests & fast at grading.
Easy A, if you do the work. I got Covid at the end of term and still did fine; even in the 8 wk course there's plenty of time to complete each 'section.' But no getting around listening to ALL the lectures. He bases questions on his anecdotes to ensure you've been doing what you're supposed to-- the "got'cha" component was annoying, but I get it.
You need to pay attention to his lectures as they are the majority of the test. There are a total of 5 big tests and 14 chapter readings. You need to do your work and pay close attention to do good. He is a very good professor and helped me out a lot.
Easley gives you 5 big tests throughout the class and 4-ish assignments per test section. So if you fail 2 or more tests, you're kind of screwed. As long as you attend the lectures and take notes though, you will pass just fine. We didn't technically read from the textbook but it was needed for an access code to do the assignments.
I tried to email this professor when after I had an emergency appendectomy and never received a response. Because of this, I received a C because the test I missed was put in as a zero. Never got an answer from him or the school about this. So disappointed because he seemed like a nice guy and had good lectures and class materials.
Professor Easley is straight forward and his lectures are heavy, and REQUIRED. I listened to them, and still did mediocre on the exams. The only thing I disliked about his class was that his grading on the exams was not available for review following grading. I really would've liked to know what I got wrong and where I needed to study more.
Longer lectures than I was used to, but overall very knowledgeable and great professor!
This professor was the hardest prof I ever had. I had an emergency and missed about 4 quizzes, I emailed him but never got any reply. I was frustrated because I never had professors that never cared. HIS LECTURES DID NOT HELP AT ALL!! I highly recommend not taking his class!!
He made his own video lectures, which I found very helpful, but based the exams completely on them, which he graded very severely.
The entire class is just note-taking off a PowerPoint all semester from day one, just gave a brief intro about himself and then notes. Very unengaging class and no hands-on work. You have around a 50/50 chance he'll even respond to your email and if he does it's super unhelpful. Do NOT take this professor even if it's your only option.
The most boring professor on the planet. Way too many notes to take, unnecessarily difficult tests, and hardly teaches just reads off of a slideshow. This class had the potential to be interesting but this professor has shown that making the class interesting is not important to him. If you miss even a day, best of luck to you with catching up.
Bad side: Difficult professor, asks test questions to trick you. Often times spelling/grammar errors in quizzes and tests. Tests are challenging, so I definitely recommend taking detailed notes on lecture videos. Good side: He is a fast grader. There are no midterms or finals. He is definitely well-educated and makes analogies for his lessons.
challenging. not because of the material, but because of his way of "teaching" and testing. the test questions are worded unnecessarily hard.. i have to look up definitions for half the words used in questions. his powerpoints suck, you have to be present in class to understand what the abbreviations and two word explanations in his them mean.
The work was due every month so just don't get behind, do the work and try to pay attention to the lectures. Good, chill class.
Best professor at Tri-C
I took Pol-1010 with Prof. Easley and it went great. I am a CCP student, so I took this course online. We were assigned three sections of video lectures and quizzes each section with different due dates, online book sections, end of section "essay" questions, and a few other quizzes. Personally, I would highly recommend taking this course with him.
This class was asynchronous, syllabus is very clear and due dates are clear as well. Coursework is released to you to do at your own pace (as long as it is in by due date). Mini lectures, reading with questions, articles with questions, and section tests. Loved this class and professor!
