Great teacher. You don't need a cup of coffee for his class, he wakes you up with his fast pace and electric personality. The subject matter is hard so expect to work, but if you do just what he says, there's no reason to get lower than a B.

The best teacher by far at ISU. i have never seen someone so enthused about his career. No matter what he is doing, he will drop everything to help all students. When its nice out youll see him playin bball with a bunch of kids at the courts by manch/hewitt. very personable!

I LOVE Dr. Hitchcock. I don't know how he does it. He's given me and I know many others not only great chemistry knowledge, understanding and enjoyment, but also recommendations for med school and lots and lots of laughs. He's WAY too good for "government work!"

Dr. Hitchcock is an amazing person. I had him a couple years ago for Organic Chemistry, and I still have not encountered a professor that comes close to being as great as he is. If there is no test in a week, he will offer about 4 help sessions. If there is a test, he will offer around 7 with "all night chemistry blow outs". He's great.

He's the most hands on teacher we have in the department. He will feed you the information, so be ready to eat! For some of the quicker students this class can seem slow, but he has a tendency to brush over some of the more confusing things. The exams are long but straight forward, including a lot of browny points, but serious challenge questions.

I thought the textbook was too expensive ($250!!) so I am using my own book. Took 2 tests so far..A's on both. Definitely have some sort of book.

Probably one of the best teachers I've ever had. It is a tough class and you really have to apply yourself. He is always available and really goes out of his way to explain the topic to anyone struggling. Even that one question kid every class has will not be unanswered. Its almost a requirement to have his class to restore faith in teachers.

Dr. Hitchcock was the best professor I have ever had in my college career. He had so many study sessions with anyone that was confused from lecture. He was very quick grading tests. Basically just pay attention in lecture and go to the study sessions. You will be fine.

He holds study sessions, answers questions, and inspires his students to work hard. If you take orgo, it is a must to have him. I know I would have failed it if he wasn't my professor. He is a gem.

This professor is one of the most caring teachers I have had. He really wants you to succeed and will make sure you do not fail as long as you are willing to do the work. You have to keep up with the material everyday but he gives you practice exams for every test and extra worksheets for each chapter. Take advantage of the material he gives you.

Dr. Hitchcock is an awesome professor. You can see that he actually wants his students to succeed in class, and makes times outside of class to help go over the material. If you struggled with any other chemistry class, he will help you understand the difficult concepts you may have struggled with.

Dr. Hitchcock is very enthusiastic and you can tell that he really wants everyone to be successful in his class. He is very reachable, even giving students his cell for if any extra help is needed. The exams are exactly like the (optional) homework that he assigns, and he gives a lot of extra credit. The book is not necessary.

He was genuinely a nice professor however, I just have an extreme difficulty with chemistry. This was by far the hardest class I have ever taken and I think I would have gotten an F in the lecture if I did not have Dr. Hitchcock. He gives out packets with problems and important concepts for every chapter.

Dr. Hitchcock is an amazing lab instructor. He is very safety cautious and very attentive. He writes down and explains the mechanisms that we are being done in lab. There are lab papers to be typed and lab notebooks due as well but this is a very exciting lab. Especially once you reach the unknown portion of the lab

He gives his students all of the materials that they need to do well on a test and tells them exactly what they should do to get a good grade in the class. You definitely have to go to class because he writes all of his lectures on the board, so there are no lecture slides.

Dr. Hitchcock is one of the best professors I've had at this school. He's enthusiastic about organic chemistry, but he's very clear in the way he teaches. There's nothing you won't expect on the exams. The class grade is based on five exams, a final and your lab grade, but he does give out some bonus points. I never expected to do thisgood in orgo.

He answered every question with great explanations. If I have the chance to take another course under his instruction, I would take it!

Professor Hitchcock is an amazing professor, he is passionate about organic chemistry. The labs for this class suck a lot and I didn't know what I was doing but you will get through it. Attendance is not mandatory but GO TO CLASS it is very worth it. I would def take another class with him, he makes lecture interesting eventhough orgo is not a fun.

I did my undergrad & grad degrees in chemistry at ISU. Dr. Hitchcock was not only the best chemistry professor I had by far, but the greatest teacher I have had in my entire life. Countless students in my classes with him said the same thing. If you show that you care about the class, he will literally sacrifice his free time so that you succeed.

Now that I've finished it, I cannot recommend Dr. Hitchcock enough to students who have to take organic chem. Professor Hitchcock is amazing! The material of his class is difficult but he finds a way to make it understandable. It's important to show up to class and listen to his lectures.
