Professor Kellie is a nice guy. He is really into this chemistry stuff and he makes it easy to understand. It helps to have a working knowledge of the Starwars universe though.

Mr. Kellie was a great teacher... a little geeky, but made a really boring subject half way intresting. I liked him enough to take him twice.

Great teacher. If anyone is going to take Chemistry at ECC. Dr. Kellie is absolutely the one to take. No doubt about it.

Wow! Best class of my life! I loved this class, love chem anyways, but this class made my want to be a chemistry prof. Dr. Kellie was a great prof. always in his office when needed. He loves Star Wars and Hitchhikers Guide, included 42 in a lot of problems. Loves what he does and makes it fun. Had an example for almost every lec Wish he taught more

Took online class. A lot of work but I learned a lot. His lectures clarified a lot of what the text said, both are necessary. Don't count on him being in his office during office hours unless you schedule a visit.

Probably the worst online class I have ever had, it involved massive amounts of homework. Granted, I understand that homework is necessary this amount was unrealistic. There were so many components to his course that I felt lost at times. If you are looking for an easier chemistry class take CHE 120. Much easier. Overall nice guy...

Took him twice. Loved his classes. Pay attention, and show up to class and you'll get an A. Over-confidence gets you nowhere in his class. Dr. Kellie is always in his office. He'll stop what he's doing to help if you need it. In class, if you don't understand, he'll stop and clarify for the entire class. GREAT TEACHER

Always willing to explain and help.... He does give extreme amounts of homework at times, but he does it for us to understand!! Always answers emails and has lectures recorded online along with Powerpoints if you do have to miss class!! Great teacher!!

Great Prof! I hate Math/Science, but Dr. Kelley explained anything I was having issues with. Always willing to help, even held a private study group with me and a few others who were struggling before an exam. I would strongly recommend taking his class. Really enjoyed it!

Dr. Kellie is really fun and loves the subject material. He is very open to questions and easy to talk too. If you don't understand something, he is very willing to work with you until you DO understand. The work seems a bit tedious at times, but it's worth it!

Best teacher I've ever had. Be prepared for nerdy references! It's a tough subject, but Dr. Kellie is super helpful and can guarantee you'll make a good grade if you try at all.

"CHEMISTRY IS EASY, LIFE IS HARD!" :D I love this teacher. Yes, he loves star wars, star trek, doctor who, etc. Awesome! but he's also great at what he does, teaching students Chemistry. If you ever have those times where you don't understand something, but you're too embarrassed to ask, he goes around and he won't stop until you actually get it.

Dr. Kellie is an awesome teacher, he really knows his stuff and knows how to teach chemistry to students. I would take him again.

Dr. Kellie is the best professor you will ever have, especially when it comes to Chemistry. He genuinely cares about his students, and if he sees that you're trying he will be willing to help with anything. Great lectures, and made chemistry a lot easier than most professors. You need to study though.

I had Dr. Kellie a couple years back for Chem 1 and 2. He's an exceptional teacher and goes above and beyond to help his students. He expects you to put in the work necessary, but he'll always meet you halfway. A warning to those of you going to take Chem 2, it's much harder than Chem 1. Don't be afraid to ask him for help.

I took Dr. Kellie for 4 semesters from 170/175 to 180/185. The class itself can be difficult at times, but Kellie is more than willing to help you in any area you have questions on. He's there for his students and makes it so that you'll remember the class and what he taught. I love Kellie's class. I wish he taught organic so I could have him again

You will love the nerdy references he makes! Dr. Kellie was an amazing teacher who let you have second chances in completing assignments if you didn't do so well the first time!

He knows how to do his job and is very knowledgeable of the subject. He is very helpful and friendly and willing to work with you. Chemistry is a hard subject to learn and he makes it as enjoyable as possible. I highly recommend him because he is actually there to make sure you pass and does not throw you under the bus!

Nerdy, but an incredible teacher. He will spend any amount of time making sure you know the material. He may appear to be rude at times but he doesnt mean to be as he lacks social skills( his words!). If you have to take chemistry please take this teacher over anyone else. Also take the labs, they're super fun!

If its not your strongest category your PROBABLY better off taking it in class, however; he is a great teacher that responds promptly. There is alot of work, as its a online chemistry class so what else would you really expect! Cons: If you fail ONE category(test,lecture quiz,exam) then he WILL fail u. the class isnt easy but its doable believe ME

Taking CHE170 with Kellie on campus was great, but DO NOT TAKE THE ONLINE CLASS!!! Lectures posted online are needlessly long and not edited for time. You will have a harder time learning the concepts if he is not there to show you them. If you are going into Chem for a career, do yourself a favor and take CHE170 on campus. You will thank me later.

Dr. Kellie is an amazing chem professor! He is caring and willing to work with your schedule and catch you up if you missed something or are confused. His lectures are hilarious and he makes chemistry fun and exciting.

By far the best teacher I have had in college. You can tell he really cares about chemistry and genuinely wants you to learn and enjoy the subject. You must listen to his lectures to pass the class because of his lecture quizzes, but I found them to be quite enjoyable. Also gives multiple chances to get extra credit on homework and EOC questions.

I don't know what else to say, but thank you to Dr. Kellie. Easily one of the best teachers I have ever taken! He has such a love and knowledge for this subject and it is contagious! I have never been the best at chemistry, but he's made me excel and understand it! You will actually REALLY ENJOY THIS CLASS! This class is AMAZING!!! I WILL MISS IT!

Took online chemistry 1 and 2. awesome professor! Homework is due every single night. BUT, if you use the internet to help you out, you will have no problems with this class. He has youtube lectures that are mandatory for his lecture quizzes. The online lab was a little tougher though, but very manageable! Makes chemistry as fun as you can make it!

Dr. Kellie has amazing skill when it comes to teaching. Not only does the information that he relays solidify in perfect sense, he keeps you entertained through boring segments! He keeps your focus and there is no way you wont pass unless youre lazy. I wish all teachers/professors would take some notes from him.

Dr. Kellie is a great online professor. It's been 8 years since I last took a college course so I was nervous, but he is great at presenting the content of the course and providing lots of good examples. Tests are 80%, but as long as you put in the time/effort on the homework and take notes on the lectures you will be successful.

Chemistry may seem intimidating, yes. There's a lot to understand and memorize, and the periodic table is almost as long as War and Peace. But there's no need to fear, Dr. Kellie is here! His entertaining lectures, nerdy references, wonderful explanations, and passion for helping students will truly make chemistry easier than life!

Best chemistry professor I've ever had. It's not as scary as it seems, but you do have to put the work in. Lectures are hilarious. He gives lots of examples. Time management is CRUCIAL. The online class/homework takes A LOT of time. Lectures are mandatory to pass. There is extra credit potential.

The online lectures are forever long (speed them up to 1.75 ), but he is very good at explaining things. If you need extra help he makes himself available through the discussion boards and email. He is the nerdy kind of funny which I love and seems to care a lot. You will be very busy during his course but there is plenty of extra credit.

Great teacher, a giant fun nerd which is great if you're a nerd like me. His lectures are interesting and fun. You'll learn if you do the work. Chem is hard but this was fun. I took it online and if i lived in the area I would 100% take his live classes. If you need chem, I'd take this guy.

I just took Dr. Kellie for chem 2 online and he is one of the best professors I've ever had (and I never even met him in person!) The grading criteria is spelled out simply, the lectures are long but entertaining and informative, and he responds to questions in a timely fashion. I never had to use the textbook because I learned from his lectures.

Best teacher Ive ever had! He really strives to make sure everyone understands a topic before moving on, and there isnt a stupid question to ask! Lectures are entertaining and you WILL learn in this class. I wish I had him for every class.

I found Dr. Kellie to be a responsible professor who was helpful and made good use of materials. I found Chemistry to be a lot more interesting the way he taught it, good personal interactions with his classes. I recommend his classes anytime!

Dr. Kellie is the most funniest professor you'll ever see. he has lectures videos and i promise you that you won't feel bored while watching it. he makes his class, enjoyable and easy to access. you will get an A+ if you just watch the videos, and do homework, test chapters, take your exam. but you fail if you don't pass the (quiz) is not chemistry

I took Dr. Kellie's Chem 170 and 175 online during the summer. He was very helpful anytime I had questions and I had a lot. You get a good amount of tries on the homework because he wants you to learn and not just pass. There were even opportunities for extra credit in assignments. There are plenty lectures and homework but points make worth it.

At first I didn't like him, but after getting used to his sense of humor I really enjoyed his class. He seems to enjoy what he teaches and does a good job with his lectures.

Dr. Kellie is great! He's got a good sense of humour and a passion for his subject matter. He's great about answering questions on blackboard and replying to emails. I took him for 170, 175, and 180 all online. There is a lot of homework, but you get a lot of attempts at the problems, and he'll answer questions in about a day. He makes it chem fun.

OK, I took Dr. Kellie on the recommendation of some friends for an online Chemistry II class. He had video lectures that explained everything and if you asked a question he made new videos to answer you. He grades easily on the homework but there is a lot of it. Also, he is a total nerd so he mentions super heroes and star wars every lecture.

I dreaded taking chemistry but had to. It turned out to be my favorite online course. Dr. Kelly delivered absolutely hilarious lectures in the dad-joke, groaning sort of way. He gave a lot of homework but would make a video to show you how to work any problems you couldn't solve.

You have to watch his YouTube videos to know whats going. He has a sense of humor which definitely helps you learn the material. He suggests you do hands on learning even though its an online class. Lots of work so if you work full time make sure you drink tons of coffee. Definitely worth it in the end though.

Enjoyed the course. Didn't have to read the book, he covered everything in his lectures. Lots of Homework but you get multiple attempts on each question and he has an online answer key for lots of the problem. Would take and again and recommended him to by brother.

It went a lot better than I expected. Dr. Kellie made the material easy to understand. He gave a lot of homework but we had several attempts on all the problems and extra credit. Only thing, I would say is I wish there was more in class time so we didn't have to do any video lectures.

Very well organized, clear schedule, and the recorded lectures are very thorough! If you don't watch the lectures you're screwed, but the little jokes and references definitely makes them bearable. One of my favorite teachers for sure. I wish he taught at a 4-year college so I could have him for future chem classes.

Dr. Kellie has great teaching techniques. He records his own lectures, so not much use of the textbook. There are a lot of extra credit assignments, and he is easy to get ahold of. There is a good make up policy on late work too. I have learned a lot from him. Would definitely take him again.

Dr. Kellie took a subject that I grew up learning to be a really dry boring subject, and turned it into something that was incredibly fun and engaging. I dreaded hearing the word chemistry and after the class was done I've come to love the topic. His sense of humor only added to the fun of the class, so be prepared for a fun time!

Dr. Kellie is amazing! He is quirky, has a sneaky way to make sure you watch the lectures, but I enjoyed the class. It is a very intense course in 8 weeks but I managed. There is flexibility of 2 weeks with due dates but I highly suggest keeping up with the on time due date and not the emergency due date. His lectures make chemistry more relatable.

Dr. Kellie opened the door to college Chemistry with an exciting sense of humor and appreciation for the science. He seems to really care about the students and his lectures are conversational, full of humor, and require attention. He was direct, encouraging, and grateful in all our dealings together. He inspired me to be spontaneous and grateful.

I took Mr Kellie for his CHE170 online. You have to watch a lot of lectures that have hidden words throughout them , but if you watch them they are an easy 100%. He has a lot oh homework but the assignments are easy if you watch the videos first. His quizzes / tests are short and are open book!

Lots of hour long lectures, about three a week, all of them have lots of good examples and full of humor. Lots of extra credit peppered in with homework and quizzes are based on his lecture videos. Honestly, watch the vids and you'll be fine, there's no homework they won't prepare you for. With him chemistry is easy and life is hard.

I had to take a science lab and lecture and this was the only one online. I expected to hate it, but instead, it turned out to be my favorite online class. He keeps the lectures entertaining and gives us extra credit projects. I am terrible at science and still got an A because of the extra credit. He was quick to answer questions.

One of my favorite online professors. It was pretty much just like taking a regular course. You listened to a lecture twice a week and then did a homework assignment. Tests after every chapter. Easy, finished early.

Amazing professor. Dr. Kellie does his best to make chemistry both easy to understand and enjoyable as well. His lectures are clear and concise, homework is on point and rarely outside the course material, and above all manageable .

Dr. Kellie was so much fun and has hilarious lectures. The work was not difficult and was not too time consuming. Overall the class was great, I actually wish I had taken Dr. Kellie's class in person. He explained the material in a way that was easy to understand.

I was a little hesitant to take an online Chem class but Shawn Kellie exceeded my expectations. The lecture videos were very educational and funny, but make sure you pay attention for the quiz to follow the video. He also allows a lot of extra credit.

Professor Kellie way of teaching is amazing. He says terms you would never think you would remember but the jokes and stories to remember certain words or meanings really did help me understand the assignments better! So far has been the best class I have took!

The workload for this class is a little on the heavier side, but he gives excellent lectures and is very easy to understand. No one would struggle in any class if all professors were like him.

His lectures are very easy to understand. When you get stuck on homework he will normally always have worked homework problems for you to watch and know what you're doing wrong. I really enjoy how his class was set up.

Professor Kellie is a magnificent teacher who seems to have a clear passion for chemistry and teaching his students. Professor Kellie has become one of my favorite teachers, and I haven't even met him in person yet!

Everything is clear and plain as day. I loved his lectures throughout the entire course as well. I was allowed to work ahead as I had another class I was about to be going into that was in person and needed my full attention to which I am very thankful for as well. Lectures are very easy to understand as well as all of the assignments.

Dr. Kellie's lectures are amazing. He breaks the material down really well so you can understand why things work the way they do. There is a lot of content with lecture videos + homework, but if you follow the schedule he sets in the syllabus, it is definitely manageable. I really loved the pop culture references!

All I'll say about his lectures where you have to write down random words he tells you to write, be sure to watch the whole thing all the way through, he may try to get you to slip by putting in one more word mere seconds before the end of his lecture recording. He'll definitely keep you on your toes.

If you procrastinate in this class, you will not pass. But overall, this class was good. Take notes and make sure you understand the content before taking the test.

Dr. Kellie is great at making chemistry easy to understand. My only complaints are that lectures can get very long due to the nature of the subject; the issue is that there isn't as much editing as there should be, leading to a lot of dead space in the lectures, and that homework length is inconsistent, with some at the end being unnecessary long.

I took this class because I needed a science course with Lab. Dr. Kellie, is amazing, he made the class fun, and I stayed engaged. I wanted more, and still do. I am still going to continue learning, even though I do not get higher than an A. "Chemistry is easy, Life is hard" I really enjoyed your course Dr. Kellie and "May the force be with you"
