I dont know what you people are talking about. he is really an easy grader and the tests are easy too! It all depends on the person I guess! I thought the class and his explanations were good enough. I didnt even need to see my book to study thats how easy it was!

Lester is a very good professor. You just have to make sure you go to class everyday and get his notes. His notes are the most important thing b/c his test quesions comes from the note. His tests are soo easy, you don't even need to look at the book. He's an easy A.

He provided detailed outlines with study objectives which, if you studied, would enable you to get A's. He is accessible, helpful and friendly. His tests are rigorous but fair.

He makes it easy class because his test comes straight from the outline notes you suppose to study and he also gives a clue on what to study for.There isn't even a reason to study the book because it has so much information that might not be cover in class, but if u r unsure on some information you can also look up or used it as an extra st

I think Prof. Lester is a good teacher. He is funny, and if you get to know him he is really a nice guy. I never used to like Biology at all, but I actually enjoyed his class. It was stressful studying for tests but you just have to do what you have to do. Thanks. Del = )

i took this class with different prof. before him which was horrible. after i took his class i got the knowledge of micro. now i speak and live micro. it was so clear when i took it with him. he is not easy but clear very acknowledgable about the subject. just be in class and take his notes plus read the book to get more info. excellent prof.

if you read the book and study his handouts you should be okay in the class, studying is the key to passing this class, overall he is easy and hard at the same time. i enjoyed his class and if i had to take it again i would.

Good Prof. Just go to class and take notes. Most of the test questions come straight from the notes. Nice guy. Helpful.

He is the best teaher ever, I had a low "D" in the midterm but with his help I end up gettin a "B" in the class, and I am not good in Micro at all, he made the class fun, I strongly recom him.

I took him for Mircobiology, he's a great teacher, just study the handout/notes and you will do fine on the test, Final is optional and Lab is really fun and interesting, i promise you will love this class.

Professor Lester was one my favorites! He's straightforward with what he expects us to know and explains the materials so well! This class was an awesome experience and I have become so knowledgeable with Micro.

I took him for Microbiology. He is The BEST. He is very helpful and easy.

Great teacher. Very clear and helps you if you need it. Just take read his outline notes, and you’ll do fine. I would recommend him for a teacher. A few of his test questions are a little tricky, but overall there fair game.

I wouldn't say he is the BEST teacher at Montgomery College, but he is THE BEST TEACHER at Montgomery College science department. All the fun and kowledge are in his class. U DON'T NEED A LAB munnual for his LAB!!! However, he is really helpful, test is not hard. If you get 89.0% in his class. He will give you an A!!!

Simply an awesome professor! I enjoyed his teaching methodology. He is extremely helpful and ver clear in his instructions. He made microbiology not a burden but something to enjoy. Follow his handouts in both labs and lectures and you will be fine. Most of students got very good grades in his class.

He's a good teacher. Very helpful, he will review before tests if you ask him in advance. He records every lecture so listen to that to help you study. You need to study a lot for the exams, but if you do the review questions for each chapter you should get at least a "B".

Prof. Lester is the MAN! He manages to make sense out of even the most complicated topics, and he offers plenty of bonus points in lab. He has notes for each lecture on his website; study these and you will get an A in this class!

Prof. Lester is a great teacher! His class is easy to follow and he explains anything you don't understand until you get it. His outlines are easy to follow and make studying really easy, as long as you study the class is easy!

No matter what anyone says, I had a HORRIBLE teacher @ Takoma, and when I took his class, people didnt take advantage of the fact that he REALLY knows his stuff, test question can be tricky, really know the material, he records lectures, and you need to go 2 get notes, u wont know from the letures, b/c he uses power points TAKE HIM!

Prof. Lester was great. Not a very hard class, I barely cracked the text book and I got an A. Pay close attn to lectures and take notes on his handouts. He certainly doesn't like anyone missing lecture, but he posts audio recordings of it on his website so you don't miss anything.

Professor Lester kept the class interesting. The exams were a bit tricky at times but, as long as you kept up with the material...you should be fine. Labs were a breeze. He is awesome at giving out lecture notes. You have to be in class to get the notes b/c it's fill in the blank. Very helpful.

His soft spoken lecture lost my interest sometimes. Not many jokes in class. Exams are fairly easy. Textbook and lab manual are not required. He provides lecture notes on his website as well as audio of the lectures if you miss class. Lots of bonus points in exams and lab assignment.

Very Good Prof! Interested in Bio, class it's self is also very intersting. Lab quizes/tests are piece of cake if you pay attention in lab. Lecture attendance not mandatory, but lab is. Great Prof!!!!!

He is a highly organized, symphatetic and quite young professor, but during his lectures I many times drifted off to daydreaming. His voice is so low! Continuously uses his handouts, so the book is practically useless. He gives 4 big tests from the lecture, 2 practical from Lab and quizes from Lab. You have to study hard, he is sometimes tricky!

Easy course if you prep for Class. Heres what I did to get a stupid high score on every test: Look at the study objectives at the end of the lecture notes before class, highlight those on the lecture notes, this way when he talks about the really important stuff that makes up over half the test you will know its coming and take better notes.

Very knowledgable, extremely helpful , very organized, fun lectures, provides recorded lectures on his website (my favorite), his tests are very reasonable, the test is made from the notes , there is always 1 or 2 questions for extra credit (over 100% is possible) , overall 2nd best biology teacher at MC after prof James sniezik. 5starts !!!!!

Lester is the BEST professor ever...He's love his job so much that he's always happy every time he's in class. He makes micro bio super easy and interesting. Basically, he tries to make you learn at the same time making it fun. But his tests are tricky so just make sure you read the questions carefully and study hard. Definitely take Lester

He is an excellent Prof. This is your chance to get an "easy A" with some effort on your part. His classes fill up fast so stay up to register @12:01am when registration for classes open up.

I love professor Lester. I dropped a class at Takoma because I thought the professor was terrible. Lester was very clear about his expectations and made the class very interesting and he was very passionate about the subject. I learned a lot from his class and getting an A is not difficult, you just have to study and pay attention to what he wants

Professor Lester is an awesome professor. He explains things clearly and gives you notes that you fill in so that your not always taking notes and miss everything. He also records his lectures and posts them online if you want to go back and listen. I honestly recommend this class. It's an interesting class.

He is a really good teacher, his lectures are very straight forward and they correspond directly with his exams. If you just look over HIS notes you will do perfectly fine in his class. He is also very approachable. Very interesting class and great teacher, so no complaints!

Lab-straight forward and fun,pay attention to lab review and you ace the exams. Lectures are recorded. Powerpoints provided. No need for the book. Pay attention in lecture, what he explains most- essay Q. The lecture exams are difficult, study the powerpoints- ALOT! Every point counts, offers some E.C and culm. final in place of lowest exam grade.

Excellent professor, I highly recommend him, he gives you the resources to succeed including bonus questions on lecture and lab exams. Micro generally is not the easiest course so you've got to study hard especially for lecture.

Very heat Prof. He is not easy at all. You must listen to what he says and study to pass the exam. The lab is very easy, you may be bad in lecture but have a B in the class. He has a low voice so you must pay attention to listen to what he is saying. He encourages every students to study and do not make it easy to study. Overall, he is great.

A brilliant instructor, period. I have learning disability, but handled to get an A in the class and didn't even had to take the optional final. Exams are hard though, but very manageable if you study HARD. Listen to every word from his recordings and your A is guaranteed. Learned so much, thank you Prof. Lester, you definitely rock !!!

If you want to succeed in this class, listen to his lectures that he records and puts on his website and you are sure to get an A on every exam. He is straightforward about what will be on the lab practicals, quizzes and exams. SO be present, ask questions, and most importantly listen and you will learn a lot and do well :-)

I love Prof. Lester! He changed my life and love biology even more. I never thought I would love micro but he really made the class enjoyable. He's also very helpful, and very approachable outside of class if you need him. His tests and quizzes are challenging, but it's definitely possible to get an A. Take him and you won't regret it!

Final is optional *because* he drops the lowest exam. He records lectures and sometimes lab reviews (no other lab recordings avail). This class should be a semester of studying material and an A. Folks who don't dedicate 6 hours for an A won't get it. The material is hard and repetitive.

HE IS THE BEST MICRO PROFESSOR HANDS DOWN. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO GET AN A IN THE CLASS, LISTEN TO HIS LECTURE RECORDINGS AND TAKES NOTES. ALWAYS IF YOU HEAR HIM SAY SOMETHING LIKE, "I REALLY LIKE THIS THEORY OR PICTURE" KNOW IT WILL DEFINITELY BE ON THE EXAM. YOU CAN ALSO REPLACE YOUR LOWEST TEST SCORE WITH THE OPTIONAL FINAL.

I would take this class with Lester again. The only reason I liked micro was because of Lester. He's a great guy and totally fair-game. Write down everything he says and shows on the board and actually study it and you'll get an A in class. The key is to stay on top of the game, look at what you need to know before getting to class.

He is way better than other microbiology professors in Rockville,. he gave a lot of extra credits .exams are straight forward form his class. you just need to Listen to his recording voice and take notes to get A.I was easy and enjoyable class for me.

Professor Lester sets you up for success. He has all of his lectures recorded online. He makes you print out his outlines for lecture before hand. This ensures that you at least glance at the lecture before class. This also allows you to read along with lecture while he speaks. It was nice to be able to pay attention instead copying everything

The best professor, hands down, at Montgomery College. He made what is usually a difficult class, very fun. That's not to say it isn't a lot of hard work, as with any class, you MUST put in the effort. Labs were very easy going, and very fun. With him you will learn a lot and gain an appreciation for Microbiology. TAKE HIM!!!!!

Prof. Lester is a great professor. His class can be difficult if you don't pay attention to lectures. He gives you all the tools to be successful in his class and even has audio recordings of his lectures so you can go back and re-review his lecture. He does not ask trick questions. The things he repeats more than 3 time will probably on the test.

Professor Lester gives you all the tools needed to get an A, but you have to do the work! He provides audio recordings of lectures and handouts that you fill out during lecture . His tests are extremely straight forward if you study and review his lectures. If your not willing to do the work expect to fail as the material can be tough

I took this class during the summer so it was manageable. He helped us apply what we were learning to the real world. Be prepared to study a lot for quizzes and lecture exams. The lecture recordings online are really helpful for when you're reviewing for exams. Always read the lab manual before labs to be prepared for lab. He can be funny as well.

One of the nicest and consummate professionals in his field. He makes the class pretty easy. He's also the quickest grader I've ever had in my entire life. Can be sarcastic and at times and very bold but aside from that great professor. He is unquestionably knowledgeable. He is very clear and records his lectures and gives study guides.

I came to class , no absences ! If you do that you will pass! I rarely studied for an exam and got an B as my final grade for the course . The exam is multiple choices , some has extra credit short answered question , and couple short answered question. He is funny ! Show up to class very important to get a good grade

Good professor, tough grader. Not the easiest class but he gives you all that you need to succeed. All that materials are posted to his website the first day of class. Listen to the test reviews online and answer the review questions at the end of the notes and you will get A's. Print out all lab grade sheets and turn them in or he will take points

Make sure you study well the study guides for the exams and you will do fine. The lab is hard tho. The professor is overall good but he could be unclear about the labs.

He explains his lectures very well. His exams are almost identical to the study guides so make sure to do them! Lots of failing grades in this class because they probably don't do the study guides he provides. If he emphasizes something in class multiple times you can bet it's going to be on the exam! Fav prof from MC. Very knowledgeable and made class relatable to our lives. Posts lecture audio online so you can go back and listen, which I did to study for exams. I didn't do study guides since no answers were given. Grades are posted quickly. Just a cool dude and takes interest in his students lives outside of school. I definitely recommend.

Professor Lester changed my views on microbiology when I took him this semester. All the negative comments I read on here before taking his class were unjustified because I believe its only lazy students who will discourage you from taking his class. Study his lecture notes,listen to his recording and make sure you study after class.

Professor Lester is amazing! Please do not be afraid of the previous negative comments on here, he seriously cares about students and wants everyone to succeed. He gives us handouts with full/fill in the blank notes so textbook is rarely needed if at all. The practice exams are extremely similar to the real ones. You wont regret taking him!

Micro is hard but will be easier w Lester compared to other professors. He provides notes, study guides, and audios (LIFESAVER). Exams are based on his notes so master them! No HW. He goes over lab really fast so pay attention. Hes sassy but he cares about his students. He says you need the textbook but we only used it once

I took micro with him. You cannot find any other professor like him to provide you with everything (I mean everything!) you need to learn and get an A. His audio recordings are insanely awesome. Listen to them CAREFULLY and learn WHATEVER he says in lectures, especially for case studies. Lab is clear and straightforward. HIGHLY recommend him!

I took Bio 150 in the Spring and I thought it was gonna be super difficult but if it weren't for Professor Lester, then I would've failed. He was super caring during when covid hit and he did not give us loads of assignments because he knew students were going through a lot. I highly recommend taking Bio with Professor Lester, you won't regret it!

I was terrified of Micro since I struggled in Biology but Prof. Lester was really good at explaining things. Listen to his audio lectures, they are a real lifesaver! I would suggest sitting close to the front since he speaks softly. His tests are very straightforward. Multiple choice + written answers. Lab was not hard, and he was very helpful.

READ THIS IF YOURE NO SCIENCE STUDENT! (I failed bio 150 the first time) so I was terrified to take it again but passed , due to the virus he was very accommodating with the stress some of his students would have to endure outside of & with school, test are based straight off the power points & assignments are managable and replies fast to emails!

Would I take Professor Lester again for Microbio? No. It does not seem like he tries to make lecture fun, and he is a really quiet speaker. As for coursework, he allows access to extra resources like previously recorded lectures. His exams are based a lot on what he says during lectures.

This was NOT an easy course! This professor was decent though. He provided recorded lectures and labs which were pretty helpful. It is not impossible to get a good grade, the only thing is that you have to write down a lot of notes, and dedicate a lot of time studying! He provides summarized study guides for lecture and gave good lab exam reviews.

This is tough class in general. Prof Lester is very clear is thorough in his lectures, just pay attention. The exams are hard but if you create flashcards and listen to his recordings you'll do well. He is very passionate about microbiology and wants his students to do well while understanding the concept. Grades and responds to emails fast.

Micro is a tough subject, but Professor Lester makes it manageable. His lectures are clear, and the recorded videos are a lifesaver. Definitely use unstuck AI and create flashcards to ace the exams. Dedication is key, but it's worth it.

Lab attendance was mandatory but not lecture. This is a hard course, but he gives you everything you need to succeed. If you pay attention and study what he gives you, he prepares you for an A. Clear Study Objectives are given as well as recorded lectures so you can go back on your own time. He is quiet and took me time to adjust but he's great!

I honestly did not find his class super hard, although I did stress every exam because I would study last minute, but I feel like if you read the textbook, watch the recordings and also STUDY and learn the study guides he gives out. You'll pass!!! Of course it's not easy but as long as you put the work. I found him funny and nice.

good teacher, he always tries to tie into the real world and little ways of remembering things better. His exams have extra credit and usually says "this is important" when hinting at extra cred. Study the things he provides and you should be good. This course is very material-heavy, be sure to study outside of class. Textbook does help at times.

He makes the class super interesting. He does review sessions the class before big lab exams. He will help walk you through any questions. He also has some really good practice exams to use before any exams, however I would really recommend reviewing the slides and videos.

If this professor has a bad thing is the fact that he speaks very quietly, but overall he is a good professor and I would totally recommend it. Do the exam study guides and you will pass, go to his office hours and he will answer them.

He's genuinely such a nice professor but his class is hard. He makes the material manageable and he's really funny. He made me love microbiol. Professor Lester is an amazing professor. Although in some of his lectures you might have to ask him to speak up quite a few times but professor always made sure to give you the necessary information for you to be able to pass your exam. Professor Lester is always willing to help; he is very easy to talk to. 100% would take him again.

LOVEEEEEE this professor for microbio. He's very straight cord with his material and expectations. He doesn't want to trick you, he wants to teach you. He's very quick and great with grading, he's also very good at providing feedback to help you understand. LOVEEEEEEEE PROF LESTERRR!! Provided prerecorded lectures which help plenty.

He is a good professor, but he wants you to not JUST memorize the information, he wants you to apply it and think critically. I enjoyed his class, he's acessible, but study hard bc definitely a difficult/heavy class.

The class is very content heavy and can be difficult, but professor Lester does a great job at making it as understandable and manageable as possible for everyone. TAKE HIM!!!

10/10 Would take again, makes some dated jokes but that's because he's a boomer. Gives the fastest Grades and is brutally honest which means you know what you need to improve. Overall a solid professor
