One of the best, funniest and craziest professor in the English Department. He know the subject very well and know what the students need. If u are a ESL student and planning to take his class, then u are very lucky. Cause he never give up on anyone, especially ESL students. He will use all kind of weird teaching style to make u understand.

Professor Ramos is a very good teacher. Though he asks for essays, he gives back rewrites to help your revise your paper and realize what mistakes you made. Also helps you with the reading he gives for homework. You can always go to him for help.

Omg Shawn is the best professor in CSI..he explains material very well and he makes you love the class..he gave me a lot of knowledge and inspired me to be a better person..He is also capable of getting everyone in a great discussion in class.. Prof. Ramos is the absolute best. He makes the class fun and interesting, and you will never be bored. He really is inspiring and super passionate about writing. He truly helped me to become a better writer. Got an F on my first paper and after telling me my mistakes, I redid it and received an A on the rewrite and all the rest! Take him.

He is FANTASTIC!!!!! I normally don't like to have to write paper but he made it fun. Interesting subject matter, he is engaging and NEVER talks down to you. I wish I can take him for ENG 151, he sets the bar for how all professors should be. He is the rare gem of professors that actually like doing their jobs.

Awesome class, great professor. VEry helpful, and lets you re-write papers once for a better grade. Hes very understanding but hand in work on time, otherwise its your lost. He gives a decent amount of work but its all feasible.

Best English teacher ever. He really inspired me to write better. He doesn't always take attendence but you should still attend class. He gives you permission to leave early. I watched the "Sopranos" the last month of class and the final was to visit the 5 major locations used for filming the show!!! Be prepared to write alot and have fun writing.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. I've never learned so much, laughed so much, and had so much fun just from going to school. Taking him is an absolute must. He lets you do a draft on your papers, too, and drops your lowest grade. TAKE HIM.

one of the greatest professors of all time! i never knew i can laugh and learn so much in a semester. he is really outgoing and helpful. the work is a little tough, but he gives a rewrite for every paper so you can improve yourself. i still can get over how good of a professor he truly is. Very passionate professor. He made the class more supportive and everyone knew each classmate. He helped us with punctuation by doing open class quizzes. Rewriting the papers was a good thing this way you'd get a better grade. They only thing that ticked me off was that he allows people to call out. I'd raise my hand and never got called on.

Every time I attended his class, I felt like I'm at a comedy club. He's a really smart guy, knows what he's doing, and picks great books for the class to read.

Very fair towards the students and class overall. He will admit to his mistakes and offer up what he can to make something right. He once missed a class with no reason, and allowed us two options. Write a paper, or help out the community. Highly recommeneded. On a side note, I now know how to use a semi-colon, thanks to his teaching.

Great guy!! A couple papers and an exam but if you need help with any of it he'll help you no problem. Really cares about helping his students and let's you go early. Funny and loves the sopranos.

I love this guy, I wish we were friends in real life because he is just that great of a person. So thorough, he teaches in a way that really sticks the material in your mind, and teachers life lessons as much as English. One of the most amazing teachers I've ever had in my life. Take him as a prof, you're making a mistake if you dont!

He is truly a great professor. His main goal is for students to succeed in his class and empower his students to do better in future. He changed his intended curriculum to lessons on punctuation to help struggling students writing. Very theatrical reader but helps understand the material. Several short papers but gives a clear grading rubric.

Ramos will make you into a better writer. From semi-colons, ellipses, and even em-dashes, he will go over anything that you are not comfortable with. Ramos is also an intriguing individual with his entertaining stories and his personal life; however, on the first week he said "love is lovebut business is business" so he is NOT a push-over.

Professor Ramos is a great professor. He helps clarify things some students may not understand. He makes class enjoyable and interesting and doesn't fail to make you laugh while doing so. There are a couple of major papers, a few small ones in between, and some class discussions; but, he also gives extra credit. Overall he is and awesome professor!

His papers are actually interesting to write. He's phenomenal at explaining things unlike most teachers. You can't bring in late papers but he gives MORE than enough time.

Never seen a teacher so determined to help a student as much as he is. Explains his grading. From the beginning he says Love is love business is business. Ramos made me learn more in a 3 hr class than I did in hs. You can speak to him about anything, and will always try to be a understanding as possible. He doesn't forget where he came from. He will not give a paper out without writing one himself. and making sure u understand the topic. Gives you the grade you deserve. Attendance is barely taken

I had this professor in high school and wanted to make sure I had him in college. He is funny, interesting and crazy, but in a good way. He isn't too hard and doesn't ask for too much. I definitely recommend him for everyone. I had him from 6:30-9:50 he always lets us out at least an hour early. He makes this long class pretty interesting.

I had this professor in high school and made sure I took him in college. He is absolutely wonderful and is really passionate about the subject. Only gives 3 papers the whole semester which are so easy and maybe a quiz here and there. Really knows what he's doing and is willing to help you out. I would highly recommend, easy A.

Professor Ramos was my first English professor in CSI! I ended the semester feeling so proud of myself and confident in my choice of being an English major! I wouldnt have been this confident without professor Ramos. I had his night class which was long but he made it worth it because of how funny he is! Amazing professor! Teaches in a great way!!

This is a very easy class to pass. Professor Ramos is very lenient and understanding. Last paper due was a 10 page paper, but he makes the papers really interesting so it wasn't hard at all. Also, he does class on the exact time scheduled, it is not mandatory though.

Professor Ramos is an amazing professor no exaggeration. He cares about his students and is the most understanding professor there is. He is funny, but also makes you very interested in things you never thought you'd be interested in. He is patient and helpful with his students and won't continue until he knows we fully understand the material.

Although the class was on zoom, money well spent. Gives amazing feedback on papers. This class was definitely memorable, and I will miss it. It sparked passion in me to write again.

BEST PROFESSOR. Definitely choose Professor Ramos as your English teacher. He truly cares and his class will never make students bored. He goes over his essays really well. Professor Ramos even spends his Saturdays helping students.

There are 4 papers total and he will guide you through them. Each class (semester) has a different theme. Is super relaxed and genuinely wants to help students with writing. A stickler for grammar but it's for the best. Put in the effort and you will get an A. Just make sure to hand in your drafts and participate in class.

Took him spring 2024. One of the nicest people I've ever met & I wish he taught more courses. The way he teaches is a bit unorthodox, but that's what made class so fun. He's hilarious & makes you forget you're sitting in a classroom. He teaches abt essay writing & the history of rock music, which was so fun to learn. Don't walk, RUN to take him!

Professor Ramos made English 151 enjoyable, educational, and different in the best way. Learning about music, artists, and producers, while writing, made the class fun and relatable.
