He is a Great Prof! He is funny and makes economics not that bad. I would definitely recommend him.
If you have the chance, take this professor. He truly cares about what you get out of the class and at the same time wants you to get an A. He will work with you in any way possible. He has a big ego and he will tell you that, but he is funny about it. I had him for Microeconomics. He wants to get to know you and build a relationship. Plz take him
Dr. Rohlin will tell you exactly what is on the exams if you go to his study sessions the week of them. The homeworks are extremely easy which i got all As on. Microeconomics can be a tough subject but not when you take his course.
Great teacher! My favorable at Kent State. Definitely would recommend Dr. Rohlin. He makes hard material seem easy.
I am actually interested in Economics because of Dr. Rohlin. He makes the material make sense. He will do anything to get everyone to pass. He's hilarious and uses class participation. BEST professor I've ever had.
Shawn is an amazing professor! He makes the material very easy, and is pretty funny! He tells you what will be on the exam and is a pretty chill guy.
Awesome professor, very knowledgeable, and cares about his students. He doesn't use a book as the class is discussion based.
He is a great professor, but if you don't take notes in class or have time management it can be difficult. Also take advantage of the SI sessions available! But overall he's very interactive and keeps you interested and want to go to class. Not to mention nice to look at.
Microeconomics is probably one of the hardest courses at Kent if you are not a math/business major. Shawn is probably one of the best professors I have had at Kent. He's funny, presents the info in an easy way to understand. He even wore an afro wig for Halloween and gave us extra credit on an exam. Work with him and he will work with you.
Rohlin is a very cool teacher. I was scared to take this class and he made it interesting with his weird stories! You have to take notes and draw the graphs or you will be lost at test. Follow the practice study guide and ask ques. He takes attendance everyday. COOL guy, take his class.
Took microeconomics with Rohlin and he was awesome. Really wants to see all students do well. Not many teachers will go the extra mile for students like he will. He and his SI are so funny together. His SI Chad is really hot too so that doesn't hurt.
He is a great professor and makes everything s simple as possible. He really wants you to succeed. It's fun to watch him and his SI Chad in class joke with each other. His SI Chad is really hot too ;)
Dr. Rohlin is a great professor. The subject as a whole can be a bit difficult to understand at times but he tries to make it as easy as possible for his students. He genuinely cares about his students and is willing to work with you. He is also hilarious so he makes class interesting and tends to let class leave early! And SI was super helpful!
very difficult class, but he made it interesting. VERY attractive. favorite professor in my three years at Kent. You can miss two classessemester
Dr. Rohlin is by far the best professor I've ever had. Attendance was required, but you'll want to attend class since it's actually fun. His grading criteria is clear and his exams aren't too difficult if you go to class. He always has the highest average among the microeconomics courses at Kent.
Rohlin had me rollin', he was hilarious and very helpful, and if you don't pick him for micro, you will probably fail. And he was easy to look at.;)
Dr. Rohlin is by far one of the most exceptional professors I've ever had. 350 characters is not enough to explain how wonderful he is. He makes Microeconomics enjoyable and easy to understand. GO TO CLASS. He makes the lectures more easy-going by telling jokes and stories which are usually hilarious. 1010 would recommend.
uses same example every time which is weird ( Pizza ) , !! awesome guy
He has been hands down my favorite professor overall. Awesome guy, extremely funny, and knows what he is talking about. Gives out as much help as you want, and knows how to entertain. He also tends to end class slightly early.
This was by far the most difficult class I have ever taken. But he made it interesting and he was really funny. If you have to take this class, I strongly encourage you to take it with him!
Dr. Rohlin is my favorite professor I've ever had. Micro econ was pretty tough, but he makes the class interesting with his good looks, corny jokes, and funny stories. I would take any class he offered just to have him as a teacher again.
Dr. Rohlin is AMAZING! He tells awesome jokes, and I love that he learns students' names for examples, and actually remembers them. Microeconomics is tough, but he really tries to help you out as long as you actually try.
Best professor I ever had, all my 4 years of kent state
Ive never had another professor help and work with me so much, as he did. He will go to the ends of the earth to help you understand. If you do poorly, its because you brought it on yourself. Extremely nice. Very helpful. Enjoys teaching. Prepares you well for exams. Wish more professors were like him
I withdrew from Microeconomics 3 times over the past 2 years. Took it with Rohlin and received an A grade. He is an awesome professor that will do everything he can to help you learn and understand the material. Really goes out of his way to help students, and get to know them also.
awesome guy. wonderful professor
was nervous taking this class, but I am actually doing well in it this semester with Dr. Rohlin. There's not enough space to convey how wonderful a prof. he is. He is never impatient, and does anything he can to help students and answer their questions. Prepares us so well for exams. Also a very nice person, and even learns students names.
Best economics professor at Kent State! Wish he taught all classes in the college of business economics program
Awesome, awesome professor! You would be crazy not to take microeconomics with him. Makes the material fun and exciting! Goes out of his way to help you understand. Prepares you immensely for the tests. Drops your lowest exam. He is the best professor I ever had in my 6 years here
Dr. Rohlin is the best professor Ive had here at KSU. Wish he taught every ECON course. Explains the material so well. Makes dry material, very very interesting. Tells you everything you need to know for exams. drops lowest test. GREAT guy, awesome prof. You would be stupid to not take it with him
He is a good professor. take with him you won't regret
He is the best. I am going to take principles of macro just to be in his class again! he made boring graphs and materials interesting. the only class that I was always present at! I mean YOU don't want to miss even 1 class! The best!!!!
Shawn was a great teacher, tests are hard but they are similar to the homeworks. Go to class, do the homework and you'll pass! The textbook was necessary. Don't take microeconomics with anyone else.
Dr. Rohlin is awesome! So glad I took micro with him because he makes it bearable. Super funny and has many entertaining stories! Also, despite what others say, I found his tests and hw to be super easy. Hope to have him again!
Dr. Rohlin was the most helpful prof. Ive had in the 3 semesters Ive been at Kent. I did well in his class, and was worried about taking micro before the class began. Dont take this class with anyone else. he is an awesome professor
First of all, he's nice to look at. Second, he's one of the best professors to ever teach microeconomics. He knows what he is teaching. He is all about helping students and genuinely wants to help you understand the subject and pass the class. You shouldn't even consider another professor is rohlin is an option. book not necessary. takes attendan
Really, really invested in helping students pass AND actually understand everything in the class. Definitely will take him again for Macro!
I enjoyed going to this class even though i was not very interested in the subjet. Professor Rohlin is a great professor becaus he keeps you interested during the lecture. He jokes around a lot which is refreshing and gives examples using students and real life situations. You do need to study for the exam. He alsogives you your grades back quickly
Took this class before with a different professor and had to drop. He is so much better, if you are taking micro, take it with him. Lectures are fun and easy to follow. If you do the work you will for sure get a decent grade.
Dr. Rohlin is the best professor at Kent State University. I have never met another professor that was not only passionate about the field they taught, but willing to do anything they can to help you learn the material and achieve a decent grade. I wish all prof's were like him. I failed micrecon the first time and achieved an A I his.
I took this class 3 times, Fall 2009, Spring 2010, and my last year in 2014, and withdrew because the first round I had a prof. tell me I wasn't smart enough to pass. I took it with Rohlin and earned an A. Ive never had such a helpful professor in my life. I not only enjoyed his class, but now I want to go to grad school for economics.
I can't convey enough about how much I love professor Shawn Rohlin! He is extremely nice and really wants to do anything to help you achieve what you are capable of. Never impatient. Always so helpful. Very attractive. Tests extremely fair. Attendance helps your grade. Wish he taught all my upper division econ courses too. A true gem!
Dr Rohlin exemplifies the outstanding professor. I had him Spring 2015, in room 200 I believe by the vending machines. Huge lecture hall of so many students, and was never too busy to stay few minutes after class to help me understand something. Very nice to me when I went to office hours and explained concepts so well. I now love this subject
To sum it all up in just a few words ... he is awesome, completely absolutely awesome. I havent skipped one class all semester, because Rohlin is so entertaining and I am learning a lot also. Talk about getting your moneys worth for your tuition dollars ... to learn so much and be entertained everyday. If only all professors were like this
I LOVE HIM. Use his office hours-- he teachers groups during this time and is more than happy to do so. He's funny and he makes a topic I hate interesting and easier for me than it ever was in high school. His homework is helpful and the exams are hard but study and everything will be just fine... 10/10. He's also eager to answer questions.
Even though the material is pretty dry, Rohlin was such a great teacher and really made it interesting!
The best teacher in this whole university!! Shawn is the best teacher that i have ever had. He wants his students to succeed and makes reminds us to come to his office hours. His lectures are funny and interesting. He is a great guy and if you do poorly in his class that's on you.
Last Spring, my other 4 courses I probably attended a good 50 percent of the time. However, Micro, I attended every class! How could I not? He is a hottie. Extremely funny and has the ability to make a boring class, fun to sit through and learn. Take him trust me. Really cares about students and their success. Oh, and I got an A. So there's that.
okay, genuine, nice people and professors alike are a rare commodity in this day and age. sure, ive had some nice professors here at Kent, but Rohlin, trumps them all. He is the BEST. Always replies to emails. Never too busy to help you during office hours. Never impatient. Always in a good mood. Very fair tests. Hilarious. Take him!!!!!
The most fairest professor ever. Straight forward exam questions. Never to busy to help in any way. Makes us laugh everyday , which is a plus as sometimes some of us have no other laughs in our stressful lives. Also one of the handsomest men I have ever seen in my life. If you want a great helpful professor and learn a lot, take him.
His last name is Rohlin for a reason, cause that's what you'll be doing in some lectures. Overall a great professor, although he has a tendency to go off on totally unrelated tangents often. Exams are not too similar to lectures, be warned.
Dr. Rohlin is probably the most helpful and greatest professor to walk across the stomping grounds at Kent State University. Ive never met another prof that enjoyed helping students to the degree he does, and cared about their success. He really tells you everything you need to know for exams. He is really funny and great looking. I give him an A+
Dr. Rohlin truly cares about your success and tells you everything you need to know for exams, and you will find no trick questions whatsoever. Never too busy to help you with anything you might need. Also very funny guy. Micro is a boring class, but he makes it really interesting. Go to class. Work hard, and you'll do excellent.
I'm a B student with horrible mathematics skills, and if I received an A in this class, this man obviously is doing something right. He is an amazing econ professor, explains tedious material so well in a way everyone can swallow. Tests are straight forward and always willing to help. A must take!
I'm terrible at math and was dreading his class, I got a C on all 3 exams and didn't have to take the final but with attendance and homework grades, I passed his class with a B+! He structures his class so those mathematically challenged can still pass. Go to class, get perfect scores on homework, and you will pass He really cares about his students
I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR. I was absent from class due to surgery and he completely understood. He is so knowledgeable about Econ and really wants to see his students succeed. The class is in no way easy but he really helps you if you ask. Skipping class is not in your best interest because you'll miss a lot. Tests are multiple choice. TAKE HIM!
Awesome professor. Most helpful prof in the whole university, wants you to succeed and will work with you in whatever you need. Very fair tests. Being young, explains concepts well to students understanding. If you have to take Micro he is a safe, great bet! Believe me.
Nice and very fair econ professor. The class is as tough as nails, but her homeworks are easy points and help your grade out a lot. If you can do the homework, then her tests wont be so difficult. Very understanding.
Dr. Rohlin is one of the best professors I've every had. He makes learning economics fun and is more than willing to help at any time. Highly recommend doing all the homework, and the book is also very helpful.
Being a business major you have to take ECON 22060. I honestly dreaded taking this class, but signed up for his section because I thought he was very hot. In addition to the looks, found him to be an extraordinary professor. I learned a lot, and he was super helpful. Very fair, understanding, and taught and explained things well. Take Rohlin!
Shawn Rohlin tries to make microeconomics fun and I appreciate that. However, its hard when the subject matter is so boring and hard to understand. He sets up grading so that if you do pretty well on homework and don't skip class and do average (c) on tests you can get a good grade in the class. I appreciated that since i'm a terrible test taker.
This class is awesome - really allows the opportunity to practice understanding the content of long research papers and summarizing them for groups. You'll also probably get to do an Economic Impact Study which is a cool experience as an undergraduate. A unique class - and if you don't have Dr. Rohlin as a prof while at Kent you're missing out.
Dr Rohlin is one of my favorite professors I have taken at Kent State. He is very helpful and available if you need extra help with the course and its very entertaining in lecture. One of the nicest professors I have met
Dr. Rohlin is probably my favorite professor I've had so far! He is extremely willing to help because he genuinely wants his students to succeed. The subject matter is difficult, but he does what he can to make it easy to understand. 3 exams and a final, He'll drop your lowest score. Around 11 homework assignments, there to help maintain your grade
Probably the BEST professor I've had! His lecutres are AMAZING, I actually wanted to go because they were so good and funny. Love him and would highly recommend him!!
Didnt find him to be very helpful and there are things you'll find on the exam which arent always addressed in class.
Awesome teacher, wish I could have taken him for more classes. He really wants to help students and is passionate about what he does!
His exam not from what he says on class
I think the class would be better if he conveyed things in a different way. Talks a lot about self and tells so many stories that there isnt time to cover everything which you will find on exams.
He is hilarious. Loved having him as a professor. He puts an extra effort to make sure all questions are answered at the beginning of class and tried to cater the class to those who did not have an understanding for economics. He truly cares about student success and is available for meetings and help even on his personal time.
Exam questions are pretty difficult. Talks an awful lot about himself. Not always patient either. I've seen him even get frustrated with foreign students with language barriers or other students that dont understand. Take this course with Dr. Reynolds.
He is awesome! He makes really dry material in economics as interesting and relatable as it can be. You must come to class and he tells funny stories to break up the material. I would definitely recommend him.
there are items on tests which arent exclusively covered during lecture. thinks a bit too highly of self and the stories he tells really does reflect that. I wanted to sign up for an econ class, not a "let's toot our own horn" seminar.
Exams are pretty difficult and he tends to be really arrogant.
Where do I start? Wastes so much time talking about himself. Very grandiose. Not everything is covered, which you may find on the exam. Plays favorites with certain students. Name drops. Backpedals when you question something.
Very egotistical man. Sidetracks during his lectures to tell so many irrelevant stories, for the sake of drawing attention to himself to convey how smart, or handsome he thinks he is or how many people of importance he knows. No wonder why on exams you may find a few questions pulled from the sky, never covered because all of class is bragging 101
Found the exams to be fairly difficult and I studied at least 12 hours each week in the course. I wasnt someone who just expected to skate by. Homework does help. Thinks quite highly of himself. Very boastful.
His Lectures are a bit scattered, convoluted and his patronizing delivery is even less appealing. Sure, he wants you to learn, but when you are struggling, he is not the most helpful and his tests are more difficult then he wants you to think they'll be
I definitely don't recommend this guy. Goes off on tangents. Long winded, unrelated explanations. The material was confusing mainly because he was distracted and talked more about his personal life. Going to the lecture is not enough you'll have to find other ways to study.
I am not particularly good at econ so having a clear professor who can explain things well is a plus. Rohlin doesn't explain things well and when asked for clarification just repeats what he said. He is definitely not helpful with preparing you for exams. studied several hours weekly. I did not like him AT ALL nor do i like conceited people.
Professor Rohlin is one of my favorite professors at KSU. You have to attend class and the exams aren't too bad as long as you study. He's hilarious and tries his best to make ECON fun. Highly Recommend
He's hilarious and tries to make econ as fun as possible by telling jokes and real world examples. The best for econ at KSU.
I really dont get how he explains, he is funny but if it wasnt for the quizzes i'll be failing the classes. He just talks about his personal life and how much he loved syracuse.
To sum it all up: I am really surprised that his class doesnt have a mirror on every corner and a pool of water for him to stare at his own reflection. Talks in circles. Reverts every topic to himself. He should try to be cognizant of the fact that if a student didnt learn, maybe the Prof didnt teach
Excellent professor. He knows how to teach and relate things to the class in a practical sense. He has a great sense of humor and is very inspiring. Sometimes it's difficult to take notes because he is a little unorganized but overall the greatest professor I have had at Kent State.
He tries to be funny, but his exams are reasonably difficult. Likes talking about himself and very conceited. Wish I would have taken this class with someone else.
He is hilarious and makes the lectures entertaining and relatible. You have to come to class but he is one of the best profs at Kent State.
Uses humor to fuel his lectures, if you've had Econ before it's easy to follow along but sometimes the content can get lost in his anecdotes. Overall good teacher, if you study from the past homework questions and NOT the book and you will do fine on the tests. He uses only homework questions on the tests.
I'm an average student and a tough student to please, but I enjoyed Rohlin as a professor. He was a great resource inside and outside of class. He rocked.
worst economics professor, ever. dont take. repeat dont take.
I enjoyed Dr. Rohlin's class. His lectures can sometimes go off topic, but he truly cares for students and wants them to succeed. Go to his office hours if needed - he is ALWAYS willing to work with you to help you do well. Tests will be difficult, so study material and use the textbook for lecture reference. Extra credit is not heavily offered.
To sum it all up. He simply cannot teach, coupled with the fact that he has an ego as large as Mt Everest.
His teaching is pretty abysmal. Test questions more complex then homework. Talks in circles. Loves talking about himself, is extremely arrogant and conceited. Take with Reynolds or Leontieva.
TAKE SHAWN! These snowflakes have no sense of humor. Solid professor who uses his own experiences as great real world examples. Don't need the textbook, but it helps. The exams are EXTREMELY similar to the homework's, I've earned 90+ on both exams thus far. 100x better than my mircoecon prof. He inspired me to pursue minor in economics.
First professor I ever truly enjoyed. Never minded going to his class because it went by quickly with the content amount but how tolerable he makes it. Tests are easy to understand and pass as long as you study a little and review the homework questions. Would recommend to anyone who has to take micro or macro.
If you think Rohlin's macroeconomics is difficult, maybe you should pursue a major outside of the college of business. He makes this a very simple course, whether you understand his sense of humor or not. Exams are just like the homeworks, easier even. If you put some effort into it, you'll get an A.
Wow. All I can say is I love the econ major, but don't appreciate the departmental organization and who they delineate to teach classes. I think Macro and Micro should strictly be taught by Park, and Rohlin should teach the electives, like something along lines of ego-system economics or economics of ego.
He keeps the class interesting and gives real life examples to help students learn material better. He really sets students up for success and cares enough to help you if you don't understand something.
100% would take him again! Took him for both Micro and Macro and they were the most enjoyable business classes I have taken. He makes the information enjoyable and relatable. However, if you dont go to class you wont pass. Take notes and pay attention and you will be fine.
He's hilarious and makes boring topics fun. You have to go to class though.
The class is pretty easy but you will not learn a thing. Half the time he doesn't even know what he is talking about and will even admit it. He is entertaining though so class isn't too awfully boring but he is almost NEVER on topic. I wouldn't take him again, but if you want an easy class and don't care if you learn anything then go for it.
Great professor! Rambles but with a purpose to relate the boring ECON topics to real life. Very funny! I had him for micro and macro - excellent decision. Tests can be tough but easily manageable. I received A+ in both classes.
Excellent professing. He proves Economics applicable and has a passion for the subject. Go to class, take good notes (his lectures may be unorganized), and you will do very well. He's also very welcoming during his office hours and offers great financial advice. Do not buy the book!
Kudos to me for enduring a whole semester of his nonsense and still earning high marks. Now, I need to get him a gift. I think a T-shirt that displays, IT'S ALL ABOUT ME will do justice to what we all put up with.
Dr. Reynolds and Park seriously need to teach every section of Micro/Macro. I came in thinking how bad can it be. It can be BAD. I was lost in every lecture because of the magnitude of sidetracking. He is a master of self promotion and talking himself up, but absolutely cannot teach.
Probably the absolute best professor I've ever had. The homework can be tough but he's willing to meet with you to go over it and help you. He's passionate about economics and will do anything to help people understand.
best prof! He makes jokes and makes dry material more interesting.
Will not take again for upper division econ after this class. I was lost virtually all the time. I studied 10-15 hours a week for just this class. The lack of clarity and arbitrary exam questions on tests wrecked my 3.8 gpa to a 3.4 after just this class. Please avoid this one
doesn't teach effectively. loves to hear himself talk. exam questions are pulled from who knows where. I didn't have a good experience in this class and with this professor. He's alright right, everyone else is always wrong kind of professor.
one of the worst classes Ive taken and am a junior. I didn't learn one thing this semester since the emphasis was on entertainment and not teaching. He doesn't explain things that a beginner can grasp and the test questions are more complex then you are told. I wont be taking him again
avoid this professor! I will say he can be humorous and entertaining which is good for some, but if you are looking for a professor that wants to enable you to learn and have a fair chance in terms of straight forward exam questions, you'll have to look elsewhere!
To be honest, I regret taking this class completely and switched from the econ major after this class. I was lost the entire time and came to every class and studied hours upon hours weekly. Its as simple as that, he cant teach. The way he conducts class is pretty confusing.
Not a good professor at all in my opinion. Explanations are very unclear and exam questions don't correlate well with what is taught in class.
Dr. Rohlin is a great economist and really knows what he is talking about. The exams are pretty hard because there is a lot of information jammed into 33 questions. Luckily he drops the lowest exam score at the end of the semester. At the end of the day, Dr. Rohlin is a smart, pizza loving father who really cares about his students.
Dr. Rohlin is by far, one of my favorite professors at KSU. His teaching style consists of giving direct definitions and then examples of problems and how to solve them. The exams are pretty easy if you understand the content. If you are having trouble understanding something, he offers multiple resources, all of which are very useful.
Dr. Rohlin makes the topic of microeconomics very easy to follow. He ends each class early and clearly explains all of the topics. If you come to class and read the textbook then you'll be fine. He's a teacher that is devoted to the success of his students and is well suited for a career in teaching others. 10/10 professor in my opinion.
I was really worried about this class at first. Shawn is a great prof, he's hilarious and really does care about his students. Homework is a great and easy way to keep a good grade in class. His lectures and examples really help you to understand the material. Overall great professor and guy, would definitely take a class with Shawn again!
Shawn is an amazing professor and truly is passionate about his job. He made microeconomics simple to understand. He stated many times he always wants to help students with anything he can. He's very funny and makes the class enjoyable. He takes his time to explain things until everyone understands it. Definitely would recommend.
worst economics teacher in the department. cannot teach. totally invested in ego and self aggrandizement
Best econ teacher ever!!! you won't regret to take his class.
Shawn was an entertaining professor. Economics is a dry class so he made it a lot less painful. I didn't use the book, I went to class and took notes. Shawn makes it easy to reach him outside of class, he will go over the homework with you before you turn it in, if you visit him during his office hours. I highly recommend taking this professor!
Shawn's a great guy and a captivating teacher. Anyone who left a negative review must have failed or has a terrible sense of humor.
A really kind guy that wants his students to succeed in class and the rest of life. He's a funny person that makes a difficult subject like microeconomics easy to understand. He makes himself available for help and he is really encouraging. His tests are not that bad if you study and do the homework and ask questions if you're confused.
This professor has a large knowledge of economics and is able to bring the material to students in understandable ways. Also provided a stock day where he described a process for students to enter into the market in via mutual funds. I would suggest this professor to absolutely any student.
Dr. Rohlin really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is very funny and mixes humor in with dull economics. He will meet outside of class and is just an all around great guy! So glad I ended up having him as my prof!
Although it is a hard course, Professor Rohlin makes it very enjoyable and easy to understand. He is very pro-student and even has super office hours just for our benefit.
Had him for an ECON elective. The class is too big, so everyday is student presentations followed by short discussions led by him. He isn't very involved with my class, but he knows this so he is easy going with grading. I have still learned a lot despite his hands-off approach. He is also just very charismatic and funny.
good professor, for those taking micro econ with him I suggest you sit in the front (I sat in the very back corner and could not see, had to write down what I heard), he adapts to the class, knows what he is talking about, friendly, available, HE TELLS YOU WHAT WILL BE IN THE TEST, also read the book (very useful on hw and the test) and good luck :
This professor has truly inspired me as a student. Please, if you need a credit for Microeconomics, MAKE SURE HE IS YOUR PROFESSOR. He is extremely caring, and he wants the very best for all of his students. You will learn to respect him both as an educator and as a person. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Super hilarious and funny. Does not use power points instead he writes on the board which I appreciate. Fewer people on laptops and it is a more interactive class.
Truly one of the worst professors I have ever had. Wastes so much time. Asks questions on exams that are not clearly covered in class.
One of the kindest professors I have ever taken a class with. He cares so much about his students and will always find ways to better the class. Very funny, makes things simple in class, and very understanding. If you have to take an economics course take it with him. He will also help if you have any extracurricular activities. Very good grader.
Wow! He is one of the best professors I have had! He is a great teacher! Thoughtful! I couldn't ask for more from him.
Dr. Rohlin is really funny and keeps lectures entertaining by telling jokes and trying to make material relatable. He is fun and makes economics not so boring.
He is simply a great professor. Really cares about his students
he was wonderful! Very kind. Always puts his students first.
He's awesome! So funny and makes material relatable! Definitely take him, you won't be bored
Dr. Rohlin is a great professor and he makes it abundantly clear that he will help you pass. He understands that many who take this course don't really need it to do well in their major, and he makes sure to fully explain every concept until the class understands it. He goes above and beyond. A solid view also.
Prof Shawn is one of the most caring and compassionate professors that I've had the pleasure of interacting with! He takes the time to make sure each student understands the material, and is really flexible when it comes to stopping his lecture to further explain what he's talking about. An absolute delight!
Professor Rohlin has an amazing personality and is very likeable. The homework was very easy if you know how to use quizlet. You had to study a decent amount for tests which I did not. Easy A if you study for the tests.
Dr. Rohlin is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is a very smart and hardworking person. He takes his job seriously but also makes it fun! (which I think is the best, he is definitely not a boring teacher). His office hours are great as well, he makes time for everyone even with his busy schedule. 110% recommend him to anyone! :)
Gives tons of opportunities to learn from him. Many office hours and very smart professor. Wants the best for his students and tries to learn everyone's name which is funny. Can get confusing sometimes but overall a great guy. Test can be hard but makes up with homework and attendance.
Professor Rohlin since the first day of class has demonstrated extraordinary care for his students and takes a lot of his own time to help outside of class and grade tests accurately and quickly. His lectures are funny and engaging, and they are presented in a way that ensures youll score high if you pay attention. It is hard to fail this class.
He is cool asf
Absolutely love Dr. Rohlin. Makes understanding economics easy if you do not like econ or have trouble with it, explains everything very clearly, and will take time in lectures to explain homework problems if someone asks. Very accessible out side of class, always stays after class, has plenty of office hours, and will gladly meet in the evenings.
Very nice guy who cares a lot about the subject and his students. Includes humor and real-world problems with students into lectures to help everyone better understand. Hw every week make sense if you take notes in class. Notes are to the point and understandable. 3 tests overall (+possible final) drop lowest grade. Going to office hrs helps.
Very kind and cares about students a lot. Easy to reach outside of class and makes time for you whenever you need it. Drops lowest exam and homework grades at end of semester.
Shawn is one of the greatest professors I have had so far. easily my favorite without a doubt. Truly cares about everyone and is willing to help you out in anyway that is possible. Grade is based off of HW attendance and 3 exams which is very fair. His exams are straightforward and he always gives a very generous curve which goes to prove how great
The study guides for the exams only cover basically half of the actual exam. He's a hard grader that does everything with paper which is super old fashioned and annoying. We have to pass around an attendance sheet that doesn't get to everybody half the time. The exams and homework's are just pretty difficult for what he actually teaches you.
Great person took for macro and the class was graded based on homework (super easy) attendance and test. Test are kinda hard but just study questions in the notes
Attendance is mandatory and makes up 10% of your grade. You don't need to have the book as I have never used it and everything in exams is covered in the lectures. If you miss class he has them uploaded online along with the slides. Overall the lectures were entertaining and even though I hated macro I loved going to his class.
A really great professor! He genuinely cares about his students and truly wants you to succeed. His lectures are clear and engaging, and while the class is challenging, the difficulty mostly comes from the tests.
Dr. Rohlin is an amazing professor. It is hard to fail this class if you show up. If you go to his super office hours that happen right before class you get the answers and help with the homework. Dr. Rohlin is most certantily in the top five professors I have had while attending Kent State over the past 3 years!
I took it online. Rohlin was pretty easy to reach, and his video lectures were informative without being too long. Can't ask for much more out of an online course.
