Favorite college course I have ever taken. He is inspiring and always there when you need help. He makes you look at education from a whole new perspective. Really passionate about his work, HIGHLY recommend!

Super easy. Just go and take notes and you'll pass. Also 30 minutes - 1 hour of homework every two days, but this was the summer class. He gets really into his lectures w/ hand movements, eyebrows going up and down, head bobbing, etc. Young, well groomed, modestly handsome.

Hes a fairly new & young professor. I took his second class hes ever taught, but for his second class he was pretty awesome. It was a 6 week summer class. Very lecture heavy, & you NEED to participate in order to get credit for your assignments. Over all, he is very passionate about what hes teaching and super helpful. Bit of eye candy as well.

I love taking his summer class! He kept all the lectures interesting and is really passionate about this subject. If you hate history classes, take this class because you'll enjoy every minute!! I learned a lot and the assignments are lot hard at all! He's young and really cares about his students. He hates quizzes so you won't have any.

Very fair. Writes EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW on the whiteboard so GO TO CLASS. Outline style notes. Keeps lectures interesting with fun history facts. Summer class was 6 weeks and had biweekly essays and one midterm and final. 6/12 essays (10pts. per) are mandatory while the others are for extra credit for up to 30 extra points.

He is the best professor I had so far! He knows what he is talking about and he makes learning history so much fun. If you take notes and do all your work this will be an easy A for you! He is basically awesome.

I had a good experience. Participation is needed to get credit for homework assignments. No tests or quizzes, your understanding is based on short written analyses. A paper is given for midterm and final exams.

He is a hard grader on the essay but through writing so any mimi essays, your score will go up. No test/ quiz only write essays and given time to write at home. He very funny and keep class entertain. His lecture is easy to understand. I enjoy going to class even when it was night class. that's say a lot:)

Professor makes history so much interesting. This is the only history class I have not failed. Weekly participation for in class discussion is required, therefore it is important to keep up with the reading and online short essays. There are no quizzes. Midterm and final consist of online essays. You'll actually learn some history in this class!

I'm a college freshman who's always disliked history. Professor McNee is a young guy who is nerdy, funny, and knows how to relate to his students. He's a great guy who explains history in a way to make it enjoyable for anyone. He's super cool and for someone who doesn't like history, he's the right choice.

Hard grader, only has essays for homework along with readings, but no boring textbook. He's nice, and easy to talk with. If you want an A on your essays, talk to him about your Thesis before hand and make sure he thinks its solid.

shorts essays instead of the quiz, and 2 big essays instead of exams. easy essays and easy A if you read the book and take note during class. I would recommend using a laptop to take notes instead because it is easier to go over all the notes when you have to write the big essays.

Best professor ever! I was tempted to switch my major to History because of him. That says a lot. He makes it so interesting and fun to learn. I love having essays instead of exams. I get test anxiety so this was the perfect class for me, however, if you do not like writing, this may not be the course for you.

Professor McNee is fair, understanding, and runs his class well. He's a young guy but he definitely knows his stuff. Sit close up so you can see. Summer class consisted of 12 Essays, 3 of them were extra credit. Read 23 Chapters a week. 2 Essays for every week covering one chapter. Midterm and Final consisted of 750 word Essays, all of it were used from in class textbook and lectures, online research not required. Overall a very nice and respectable teacher with good taste in TV shows!

Amazing history professor! His outline style lecture notes are easy to follow, and he is willing to help out through email and office hours. He assigns 12 short essays (250+ words), and the midterm and final are take-home essays (750+ words). I find his essays to be a more effective way to learn the information than just memorizing a ton of names.

Professor Mcnee is an outstanding guy. When I walked into class on the first day, I thought he was just another student. He made history class enjoyable and something that I desired to know. Every week you must write a 1 page paper; however, he said he would rather give a 1 page paper compared to a 13-15 page essay at the end of the semester

Amazing Professor. Would highly recommend. We did use the textbook. All the assignments are essay/short paragraphs styled. The class requires participation but it's not too hard. Just answer one question and you're good. Overall, would take again.

I was scared to take this class bc I HATE speaking in front of the class. But trust me, it's not that bad! There's a short essay every week and in order to get credit for it you must participate in the discussion. Literally just say anything. Also last 2 essays are EC so I ended up with more than 100%! He is not a tough grader, just put in effort

McNee is an excellent professor, it's clear he cares about his students and is super friendly! He doesn't assign a lot of work but going to class is necessary in order to pass b/c you're required to participate in order for him to grade your assignments & you'll need lecture notes to complete both the midterm and final which are both essay format.

Really awesome professor, keeps the class interesting and enjoyable to be in. Try not to miss class too much otherwise you'll get lost during discussions throughout the week. Also make sure to participate often

Professor McNee is great. He rounded my grade up and got a B in his class. You will write essays and have to participate in discussions in order to receive credit for the essays. no test or quizzes. There is Midterm and Final and definitely recommend taking him.

I am so grateful I took this class with professor McGee. He used canvas for studying material, and its my understanding that he will do even more next semester. No text book. Taking about a professor that cases about students in a budget. He is so inspiring and his organization skills are impeccable. Get ready to learn lime in no other class.

I was hesitant to take a history class over the summer. I did not like the class I took for HIST 312 and I thought that HIST 313 was going to be the same. I actually enjoyed taking Professor McNee hiss a funny guy. His lecture notes are very clear and well organized. Mid-term and final were take home essays.

Took Prof. McNee's class over the summer and it felt well paced and easygoing. Lecture notes are straight forward and his enthusiasm/personality made lectures interesting. The work/tests in the class is really straight forward. He is a young, quirky guy and I can tell he really loves teaching and having engaging discussions with his students.

I HATE HISTORY but Professor McNee made it easy to get through. Basically show up to class, turn in the homework and participate in discussion every Wednesday and you will pass the class. No test taking, just essays. He is one of the nicest professors I have taken!

McNee is a great professor! History is not my forte, but he actually made my experience in this class bearable. Every Wednesday you have to turn in a 250 word essay and participate at least once in class discussion to get credit for it. The midterm and final are both 750 word take home essays. Very passionate about his topics and does a great job at teaching it. There is a lot of information, but there were no in-class tests. Both the midterm and the final were at-home essays in which students had the opportunity to get his feedback on before turning it in.

Really good professor and easy going. He likes doing weekly discussions but they're super easy. Super funny and likes to make jokes in class during lectures, however, he does make spelling errors when doing his lectures and does his best to fix them or you can call him out on it. He is an amazing professor and by far has been the best history professor I have had. The class was enjoyable and expected the opposite due to history being boring. One day was a lecture and the next time meeting was a discussion. There are two tests which the second one is the final and it is a take home. Recommend you to take the class!

The class is super easy to pass. You have to participate at least once to get credit for the essay you have to write every week. There are also a few extra credit opportunities. Amazing prof who made history very enjoyable. I love his lecture style! He writes his notes onto the board as he lectures. This made it very easy for me to follow and understand what he was saying while I copied the notes. Tip: Listen to what he says during lectures and write it down on your notes so you an use it for future references in essays.

Prof. McNee is one of the best professors. The class is very organized. No tests or quizzes. Each week, he assigns a short essay about that week's topic. Very simple and he makes his rubric clear. Midterm & final are larger essays but it's nothing too bad. He's very nice and passionate about teaching. He's always willing to answer questions.

I slacked off and was at an F before the midterm i did all the extra credit essays and got 9 or 8/10's on the short essays and pulled my grade up to a B. Don't skip class,take notes,+go to his office hrs if you really don't know what to write about he will help you

Prof McNee is bar the best Professor I have had for History 365. His lectures are so interesting and full of information. Participation is key for a good grade. Honestly love this professor, taken his classes 3 times before leaving CRC and I will miss him. I definitely recommend taking him if you're okay with short-answer essays weekly. McNee is one of the best professors I've even taken and although his grammar is wild, he makes up for it with his humor and does his best to relate to other students.

Prof. McNee has been my favorite teacher throughout the remote learning experience so far. He is really kind and easy-going. If you don't like class participation, it's probably not the class for you, but he made our class feel like a little family. Professor McNee was delightful, but I found his lectures during distance-learning near impossible to follow. He doesn't use any type of Powerpoint or presentation to accompany his lectures and just rants while you're sitting there wondering how to spell the name of the King he just mentioned. Had to rewatch every lecture multiple times.

I took the class Fall '21 online. He gave a lecture every Mon & Wed with Wed being the day you'd participate with at least one comment. Every week (except for 3 weeks) you have to write an essay of 250 words. There is a midterm and final which are essays of 750 words. You're required to be a leader for 3 Wed's (just answer some questions), so EZ!

The most perfect class I have ever had. I took his class in Fall 2021. Prof, Shay is the best one ever. Very fair grader. You must do the assignment weekly whic is a short essay over 250 words and participate in the conference days where you will sign up for three conference days where he gives questions prior to the conference day to the student.

U.S. History of 1865 to Present was exquisitely tuned-up with assessing growth development and USA from reconstruction periods until today's modern day times. I would honestly recommend including in-depth updated coverage of California state and local government and politics upon answering homework prompt questions. Prof.McNee operated tech-savvy!

This professor is very organized so expect the same schedule every week. Explains things very we and goes into detail. Actually answers all questions have in class. Checks in with students if you didn't understand something. As long as you do the assignments every week it is very easy to have an A or a B in this class. Very good professor.

I enjoyed his teaching quite a bit. The class is very reading-heavy, and if you have issues with your hearing, I recommend you sit in the front. There are 3 mandatory presentations, but they aren't as scary as I thought.

Professor McNee would do his lecture while making it interesting and would throw a couple jokes here and there, keeping you engaged. The discussions were a little lacking if it wasn't your week to discuss sometimes. Overall one of the best professors I've encountered.

Amazing professor! During my online history course, he was giving us to write 300-word essays instead of regular tests on memorizing the dates. For the final and midterm, he just asked us to write a 900-word essay. Doesn't accept late work, but has extra credit assignments. The lectures and class discussions were very interesting.

Answer questions and get credits. Having essay assignments every weeks but it's easy. If you need help, just tell him and he's willing to help. He teaches with great enthusiasm. I DO RECOMMEND his class.

Loved this class, Professor McNee is funny and I liked how organized he was. His lectures actually make sense and he does a good job at keeping the class engaged. You do have to do some reading (it's not a lot) and there's a short essay every week, but once you get into a routine, the coursework isn't too much of a work load.

Lectures were very easy to follow. His discussions are in person with half the class, and you all discuss a few Q's. Make sure you do the readings to prepare for these discussions because you will receive a group grade. The 2 exams are one-on-one oral exams that he allows a paper for notes. All in all, I would take the class again! Very easy!
