I took his summer class and eventhough it was short he did a great job teaching. He made it very entertaining with his stories and examples. He makes it very clear what is going to be on the test and he really likes to see people succeed. Definately take his classes if you get the chance.

This class was very interesting and he uses many stories and examples from his vast experience in psychology. I loved this class and he is very helpful, he reviews very well for tests, he does not test on any material he does not cover. i definately recommend this class!

dr lloyd is by far the best teacher i have had at tcc....he made me not ever want to miss his class. always had interesting stories, very useful info learned in this class. incredibly easy tests and only 1 paper...i highly recommend taking him, he is awesome.

This is the best teacher at TCC. He makes the class easy and interesting by telling us about his experience. His test are easy because all the stuff he says in class is exactly like his test. Sometimes his phone rings, and it sounds like a chinken; CUOCUO. If you get the chance to take his class, TAKE IT. COOL TEACHER.

This guy is increadible!! I cannot imagine a better teacher. Half of his lectures are stories of experience to help understand disorders etc. He does not teach and test on a lot of the boring/technical stuff in the book. All that he teaches is really cool. I never miss class and haven't looked once at my watch in his class. Take him!!!!!!

This is a wonderful teacher, if you go to class and take good notes, you will pass this class. Very interesting stories relating to his work within the field, very knowledgable. Use a tape recorder, hard to read handwriting, but gives you everything you need to pass his class. Very clear.

Awesome teacher. Only downside is even with a good marker, you can't read his writing. Simple fix, listen to the key words and find them in the book for spelling and definitions. His class is VERY interesting. He tells you exactly what you need to know an the test and he tests on what HE taught you, not the book. One paper!

He is SOO cool. seriously, his class is so awesome, i find myself sitting on the edge of my seat, listening to his awesome (sometimes really sad though) stories. 3 easy tests, one final, one paper (which was kinda difficult for me), and that's it. pick him, he's really great. he loves what he does..god bless him though, that man needs some markers!

He keeps you interesting and laughing. He's very understanding and the tests are all multiple choice. He tells you exactly what you need to know for each test and the paper he grades easily. I would take any of his classes!

I would recommend Dr.Lloyd Shayn to any students. No uses of books, his test are strickly from his notes and he gives great notes. So if you ever have to take Psychology 2012 I recommend you take him, because hes a great teacher.

I love Dr. Lloyds teaching strategies. He is very fair as far as his grading, all test are strictly from his notes, you save money by not having to by a book, and there is only one paper due in his class. I have taken him for two of my psychology classes and will be taking him in the fall for a third class. I strongly recommend Dr. Lloyd.

Dr. Lloyd was a gr8 teacher. He gave good notes.All test were practically str8 from the notes. He explains everything very well w/ personal and real life examples. I'd recommend to anybody. Overall he's a really good teacher!!!

This guy is amazing. He is actually a Dr. of Psychology and has been in the field for 20 years. He knows what the hell he's talking about, not just teaching from a book. He has seen everything, and he incorporates his experiences into his lessons... that makes for the most interesting class I've ever taken. Highly recommended!

this class is based on the notes he gives in class. if you just listen to him talk and study your notes you will pass every test. attendance is not mandatory but you do far better in the class is you show up. dr. lloyd knows what hes talking about & explains everything with examples. he is funny and a overall nice guy! this was my favorite class!

I found Dr. Lloyd very caring, and easy to get a long with. He presented the lectures clearly, and try to make them applicable to everyday life. I loved this class! Easy easy! Test are easy and he tells you stories that make it interesting. You learn alot about yourself and get an easy GPA booster all at the same time.

Excellent teacher. Very clear, but his handwriting is horrible. His tests are pretty easy, but ask him for subjects that might be lists. His paper is extremely hard, simply from reading the articles. Other than the paper, I loved his class.

This was an easy class, and he doesn't really require the book. All the stuff he teaches is pretty interesting, and he manages to keep up a good pace. Though he may sound condescending sometimes, he does care about his students. The only thing I would warn you is his hand writing resembles hieroglyphics, and he tells all sorts of horror stories

Lloyd lectures, take notes carefully, tests aren't hard, but detailed. Gives xtra credit. Will not tolerate cell phones. Sometimes came across as condescending and annoyed when asking too many questions. Definitely has tons of experience in the field. I was turned off when he talked about killing anyone who ever harmed his daughter-inappropriate.

I LOVE this teacher! This is my second time taking him and I got an A in both classes. He does not use the book at all DONT BUY IT! The only down fall he has is his hand writting but he will tell you if you cant read it. Otherwise take good notes and memorize the lists and you will do fine. Plus he has the most interesting stories.

I really liked this class and the teacher although at the beginning I had to get used to his style at first I thought he was kind of scatter brained cause he jumped subjects but the tests were easy and the class was fun i didnt use my textbook at all either... i would take another class if i needed too

This was my first class with him and he was great! He has alot of experience in the subject he teaches, and can give you real life information. I have taken almost every class he teaches. He is a great teacher. Very easy and you never need the book he is strickly notes!

One of the absolute best teachers i've had so far since being at TCC. i took his class over the summer and it was SO easy, i would recommend taking it then. No papers, 40 question test, and we didnt even need the book. I looked forward to his class every time i went!

He's an amazing teacher! Definitely worth taking. He explains subject matter thoroughly and allows ample time to copy down your notes. He's entertaining, laid back, gives extra credit and always makes sure you can ask questions before the exam. I missed a day of class and he helped by getting the transparencies of that day so I wasn't behind.

Dr. Lloyd is a good instructor and knowledgeable in his field--psychology. Attendance is required, listen to his lectures and case studies, and take notes. You do not need the book, but you do need to listen and interact with the instructor. Good class and very interesting to learn about why we are who we are.

Mr Lloyd is an extremely good teacher and offers lots of extra credit. if you show up for class or atleast get the notes from someone else you should get an A. the main thing you should study for tests are lists that he gives thoughout the notes and he tells you which ones to know and then just read over the other info before the test. I took him during the summer. At first we didnt take a whole lot of notes and then it starts to pick up. He tries to give a lot of examples of situations involving the text. We never use our books even though he told us to buy them. We have a test about once a week. You have a total of four test, final isnt cumulative.lots of extra credit!Take him!

ONLY THE BEST EVER! Take notes-study notes-BS on in class paper-take the easiest test I've ever taken-get an A in the class. I have graduated from FSU and taking some other prerequisites for grad school and out of the four years I have been in college he was the most helpful, interesting, awesome, bad ass teacher. Just take notes. Take notes. Oh yeah his notes aren't even that long like 4-5 PowerPoint slides per class. But take notes and DONT buy the book.

For test reviews he does group studies in class that earn u extra credit:) and questions he gives on the review r on the test! Got takem!!

A bit of an odd duck and says some questionable stuff but that's to be expected from a Psych teacher. This class was very easy - I skipped about half the days that weren't test days and still got an A. Worth taking if you need to fill up your schedule but don't want too heavy a load.

The Good part: Very laid-back. You'll get an A if you put the right amount of effort in, and a B if you don't. It's worth it to study but the tests are easy to pass either way. The bad part: His opinions and attitudes are a little old-fashioned, to put it lightly. There are times when you'll have to restrain yourself from arguing with him.

He makes going to class something to look forward to. Text is required for in class writing assignments. It IS a big expense, but it IS exceptionally good. I do wish he would put a stop to the few who want to make the class a time for their personal therapy session.

Love this teacher! If you like psychology, you will love it too. He makes it so interesting and easy to understand. There is a sign in sheet for attendance but it isn't mandatory to go. If you miss class, you will miss at least 2 pages of notes which is bad unless you know someone in the class. Test is literally a copy of the notes. So easy!

Very intellectual and knowledgeable teacher. He knows what hes teaching and how to properly teach it. The tests are the exact notes, if you go to class and take the notes you will pass. He will work with you on anything you need help with just dont try and bullish him he will see right though you

He is very easy. no book was required, notes are taken from power point, tells you what to study for, gives out extra points,awesome teacher. however, you will not want to miss class unless it's an emergency. make sure you have a reliable person to copy notes from if you miss and study them. There are 4 tests (final included) and 1 written assignment. You don't even need to buy the book because all of his tests are based off his power-points. I've made a high "A" on every test because I just studied the easy notes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you need to get notes from someone else if you miss a class. Trust me, EASY A!

If you are a psychology major/are interested in it, take this class with Dr. Lloyd. He has worked in the prison system and is extremely knowledgeable on this subject. This is the best psychology class I have taken yet. I would consider it an "easy A" as long as you go to class every time. Don't see how you wouldn't want to anyway.

Dont buy the book you do not use it. He teaches totally from his lecture PDFs. He doesn't use blackboard. Attendance is not mandatory but come to class for the notes. His test comes word for word from the notes. He's an awesome teacher and funny. If u don't like studying don't take him. He expects u to know everything he talks about class is short.

I left TCC to Keiser after a terrible experience with an A&P teacher. However, I'm happy I attended TCC to experience of this class. He praises hard workers, highly interesting, and inspiring. For a gen-ed class, he made it highly enjoyable and interesting. Don't buy the textbook, I never used it once. Type powerpoint notes- it will help!

Very good professor. He's extremely available and willing to help students with whatever they need. MUST attend class (not graded) but because he doesn't use blackboard. Going to class is the only way to get the notes, or ask questions. The power points he goes over in class, is exactly where his exam questions come from. 4 exams, 2 written exams.

I took Sociology and Abnormal Psychology with him. As long as you attend class, take notes, and study, you'll do fine. There's 3 tests and a couple in-class writings but he's very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable, and there's no reason you shouldn't pass.

If you are a psychology major, you will love this class. It's all about mental disorders. It can tend to get a bit boring, but that's because it is lecture based. There are 3 writing assignments (super easy, I promise) and 3 exams + your final. You have to attend class if you want to pass because everything is based on the notes. Need book for DSM.

Very nice guy and he lets you know what he expects of you and wants everyone to do well. He'll award random bonus points in class, so it's def worth coming to class!

He is an amazing instructor. Our first assignment was to draw a man, a house, and a tree. He could easily tell personality traits from behaviors. Because of this, he dealt with me in a way that CURED ME OF MY DEPRESSION! The man is a genious!

He tells you assignments and when due up front, there is a research assignment and in class writing assignment based on your notes, super easy. No book!

Amazing. Two in class diagnosis essays, three tests and one non-cumulative final. One easy homework assignment. This guy is a genius, hilarious and amazing stories that help you remember the content that he teaches. Powerpoint based class, but all condensed and valuable information. I looked forward to attending his class. Clear, fair grading.

Dr. Lloyd was amazing! He has A LOT of experience as a cognitive psychologist in the criminal justice system, which he draws upon frequently. Multiple choice tests were a breeze and the in-class diagnostic essays (where you diagnose a patient based on their symptoms) weren't bad. All material comes from lectures. Side note: he's a bit opinionated.

I had him for social psych and had to take him again. He's a great teacher, he explains things very well. You can tell he REALLY knows what he's talking about instead of just reading off a PowerPoint. There are few grades in the class, so the tests are weighted heavily, but if you pay attention in class & study some outside of class, you'll be fine

I took him for abnormal psych & social psych and he is wonderful. He doesn't post online so you need to come to class to get the notes. He gives extra credit the day before the tests and the questions on the extra credit are on the test. He used to work in the prison, so he has stories for everything and his lectures are very interesting. Take him!

Dr. Lloyd is great! Just show up to class, take notes from his PowerPoints, and study the notes and you will be good to take any of his tests. He has few writing tests where you will need you textbook to do the test, unless you trust your brain 100% to remember all the disorder you learned in class. But you will enjoy the class if you up in effort

Dr. Lloyd gives lectures that are easy to follow and all interesting because he actually knows what he is talking about. You will definitely like this class if you actually put in effort :D

Show up to class, take notes off of his PowerPoints, study your notes for tests,and you should get at LEAST a B in the class. You might need your book for few writing tests. Dr. Lloyd teaches so well because he has dealt with most of the stuff that he teaches, he knows what he is teaching. Make an effort in the class and you should be straight :D

Mr. Lloyd was a great professor. He teaches the material well and you can tell he is very interested in his lectures. The textbook is a must due to it containing a DSM which is needed for essays. There are only two essays and three tests including a final. The test and essays are very easy as long as you pay attention and don't miss too much class.

DR. LLOYD'S CLASS WAS GREAT. I LEARNED A LOT I DIDN'T GET ANYTHING LOWER THAN A 92%. HIS CLASS WAS NICE SMOOTH AND EASY. JUST STUDY AND YOU WILL DO GREAT. YOU DONT NEED A TEXTBOOK HIS LECTURES ARE VERY STRAIGHT FOWARD. IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND JUST ASK AND HE WILL EXPLAIN IT JUST HOW YOU WOULD LIKE HIM TO. HE GS EXTRA CREDIT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

By far the best teacher I've had at TCC. The lectures are great, there is only one homework assignment, and the tests are very clear. You have to show up to class to pass, because he doesn't post lectures but take notes and review them and you'll do great.

Dr. Lloyd is absolutely wonderful! He's been the best professor I've had at TCC and I've already taken 70 credit hours here. He's clear, interesting, and wonderful to listen to. I got an A and I've retained far more than I thought I would. Everything you learn in this class is relevant and learning from him was a joy.

Easy A!!!! No Textbook needed. Just come to class and take good notes from PowerPoint and study notes. Wish all my classes were this easy. Also gives extra credit.

Dr. Lloyd is one of the best professors I have ever had. We had four tests (he canceled the final), one super easy research project (fill out form), and lots of extra credit. We earn extra credit by answering 10 questions correctly before every test, and it adds up to about 25 points. His tests are verbatim the PowerPoints, so just take good notes.

Do not skip class, every thing is in the notes just make sure to find time to study. He gives a good amount of extra credit. just come to class and listen. gives good study guides. wonderful teacher ,would take again.

Super great guy. Very intelligent and interesting to listen to. His class is super easy if you just show up. He doesn't care about attendance but going to class is very beneficial. No HW, no assignments, just tests and one research project. All u do is listen to him and take notes. He lets you use the book on tests. I'm def trying to take him again

Absolutely awesome professor. Lectures are so interesting the class just flies by. He lets you use computer to take notes. There was like one or two homework assignments but nothing is too challenging at all. Tests are super easy if you listened to the lectures, and he usually reviews important info before tests. Would take him again.

I took Dr. Lloyd about five years ago for Psychology and Human Development. I look back on his lectures often when thinking about this field of study. I am pre-med at FSU and absolutely loved his lectures! Do not miss an opportunity to take him for these classes! Use the textbook to compliment his lectures!

Teaches from PPTs but his in-depth examples make them really interesting. 1 small research assignment. Gives 5 extra credit points before every test. No study guide, so good notes and attendance are a must. 2 in-class writing assignments that you can use the book for - he grades pretty tough on these.

Shayn Lloyd shows the importance of psychology when applied to the real world, which you may not get with other teachers who go by the book. His stories of some of his past patients will stick with you and amaze you. He has a couple group projects but tries to make it fair, textbook only needed once, in class writing assignments were pretty tough.

Professor Lloyd is an amazing professor. His tests are pretty straight forward, as long as you look over the notes you should get an A. He gives extra credit before every exam so be sure to go to the class held before the exam. I recommend him highly, especially those majoring in Psychology. He can really help you succeed and give you lots of tips.

I LOVED this class! The textbook was definitely not required & his notes are more than enough material (his tests are 100% from his notes and comments in class!). He's a wonderful, entertaining professor! He gives SO many opportunities for extra credit. I took the Wednesday class (7p-9:45p)&he always let us out early, but ALWAYS gave us great info!

He is the best I took him for PSY2012 and DEP2004 I passed both with an A. His lectures are straight forward whatever he puts up write it and study it and you'll pass his class with flying colors. You won't need to purchase the book unless you think your going to skip class. He gives good examples on things he teaches if you don't understand.

He is an amazing Professor! He explains everything in a way which sticks to your memory and allows you to think about it. He provided a lot of personal experiences as examples and he is very encouraging. Go to class, it is worth it and the notes are the exams! Would definitely take his class again!

I took the summer express class, and despite the daunting task of covering an entire semester of information within a 6-week period, Dr. Lloyd was very informative and made sure the class understood the material from his lectures. The textbook wasn't necessary( as he throughly covers the course material), but get it if you learn better that way.

This class was very easy. All you have to do is show up, take good notes, listen and study the notes you've took. Test are very easy as well as long as you study your notes.

Dr. Lloyd was my first professor I had on campus. I took his class during the summer and wish I would have taken his class during the spring/fall to have more classes to attend! His stories are very interesting and he has a good sense of humor. The class was overall pretty easy and tests were almost word for word from your notes.

I took both his CLP2140 class and his CLP1001 class and they were both great. He teaches from powerpoints so you need to show up and take good notes. He gives you a quiz the class before each test and those quizzes are only a few questions and are open note and you'll get extra credit towards your test. Show up, take notes, review and you'll pass.

Dr. Lloyd is awesome! I took him for Human Dev over summer and I am about to start his Abnormal Psych class. He has a bunch of stories which can be real entertaining. He does not put anything on Canvas which could be a problem if you rely on it. His lectures are awesome and very informative. I plan on taking every other psych class he teaches.

If you don't like attending class then DO NOT take Dr. Lloyd! His exams are only based off of his lectures so buying the textbook is a waste of money. Exams are easy but that is about the only thing that counts towards your grade. He hates phones and will not let you record his lecture or take pics of slides. Does not post anything online.

If you go to class and get the notes the tests will be an EASY A! Go, he offers credit. You have to have a legitimate excuse & PROOF if you miss class on test day. Just go, it's easy. Very interesting class!!!

Professor Lloyd is the real deal when it comes to Psychology. Even though I took an express class with him; I learned a lot of things that will help me pursue my Psychology major. He has lots of interesting stories to tell. I should warn you though, he doesn't tolerate disruption like cell phones.

Literally the nicest man. He always tried to make us laugh. You have 4 exams, one multiple choice and one essay. Both are super easy if you take solid notes. I would recommend you take him if you want an A. He really gave great advice and was amazing at giving lectures.

Attend class, provides random extra credit but attendance isn't necessary. Only 3 exams and 3 easy papers, his class is a breeze. His lectures are pretty interesting and he's shares lots of his experiences and stories.

Dr. Lloyd is a spectacular professor who knows his material very well, and has been practicing and teaching psychology for decades. He goes above and beyond to help students in class with extra credit and test reviews, in addition to out of class by helping students through their own personal mental health concerns. He is truly an awesome person.

His class is lecture-notes based with no homework assignments. You will have 3 tests and an non accumulative final. Textbook optional but I got top letter(A) by just taking notes and asking questions. He also gives extra credit points(up to 20 this time around) that you can use on anything. Great professor, take if you don't like homework.

He was a great professor. The tests came directly from the notes and lectures and he did a pretty good job lecturing. But he does NOT like cell phones, so be aware of that. But overall he did a good job and he was funny sometimes.

Dr. Lloyd was excellent. He made sure to give students everything they need to do well in his class, but doesn't spoon feed the class either. As long, as you try, you will do well. He gives notes while talking, and everything on the test comes from that. He gives no homework, if you care about that.

He really connects with his students and makes it to where everyone in class is super interested in what he's talking about. His stories and theories on everything are super interesting and fun to listen to. He's chill but he doesn't put up with phone use in class.

Best professor I have ever taken! He made every lecture interesting and I took 3 of his classes. The class was so interesting that I actually paid attention in class and just took good notes. I got A's in all of them. I would recommend him to anyone.

Doesn't give homework, gives extra credits like candy. Be ready to participate in group projects, attendance is mandatory because he doesn't post his power points online. There is a book that you can buy for this class, but I personally didn't get a book because we never used it. Dr. Lloyd has a lot of experience and is very diligent.

Professor Lloyd is one of the best teachers at TCC. This is the second class of his I've taken, and I wish I could take more before graduating. He makes psychology interesting and truly cares about his students, even helping them through personal problems when he can. The entire class is 4 tests and two in-class writing assignments. No homework.
