SHE'S AMAZING! She commutes Monday, Wednesday, Friday to UTC from UTK. She really cares about her students. Extremely easy. Class discussions are fun! Go to class, have articles annoted, participate in class discussions and you'll do just fine. I plan on taking her for English 122 as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Ms. Monds is really great! She is always up-beat and has a smile on her face. She expects a lot but always gives a lot of help! She was by far the best teacher I have ever had. She taught me how to structure my paper. Love, Love, Love her!

This is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. Her class is one of the few that I don't mind attending all the time. I really liked Professor Monds' class. She was interesting, caring, and really tries to connect and relate to her students. She is a little slow in getting papers back, but that's probably because she actually reads them and gives a ton of feedback. I highly recommend her if you want to enjoy class and learn something!

Professor Monds isn't easy but she is fair. She'll work with you on any draft you need help with & will do so as many times as you are willing to meet with her. She will "bleed" on your draft and be honest about what works & what doesn't...but she will help you. I love her. She taught me write, argue, be proud of my work. She's the best!

On the first day of class she makes everyone describe themself in one word, the word that that "pulsate" to, or something like that! If I had to describe her in one word, it would be LOUD! But loud in a good way. Loud like passionate, interesting, engaged,excited! Wait...that's a lot of words!

Sheena is great! Very helpful, can be funny, knows what she is talking about. I had her for 122 and wrote less papers than in 121. She tries to make class interesting. I had to work a little bit but she was awesome!

I loved this class! The topics we talk about are very interesting.If you need help, she will clearly explain and go over it until you get it. The work she gave pushes you and makes you think(wasn't easy or extremely difficult).

Dr. Monds is amazing! I didn't have any real interest in English and she still made it fun. We read articles that actually apply to our own lives and then had to decide our opinion on it. Ms. Monds is a good teacher, BUT, some of the topics we discuss get really redundant. Prepare to go through at least three ink cartridges! She challenges you with the papers we write, which is great. She made me into a better writer.

Sheena Monds is Amazing and she is a very helpful teacher and will do everything in her power to help you out. But she can be a little challenging sometimes and the topics are everywhere. She is a passionate, dedicated professor. As long as you put effort into your work, you will come out with an A. She drops fifty points and a paper portfolio is your final. Getting extensions are pretty easy on the papers and you don't have to buy the textbook.

I really enjoyed her class. I didn't expect to because I don't usually like discussion, but she made us all feel comfortable and challenged me to step up and participate in my own education. I didn't see the favorites thing in my class. She seemed to work with everyone, challenge everyone, give us all the same attention.I loved the class!

Even though her class was challenging, she also puts in a lot of time to help you. She sat with a group of us working on our papers for over 6 hours. She also met with me everytime I asked for help. She make you put forth effort, but if you do, she will give you tons of help. I learned more in her class by far than I did in 121. Take her!

I really loved her class! She did her best to keep everyone interested and include everyone in the conversation. Ms. Monds discusses interesting topics and is really funny. 4 major projects, participation, meetings, and revisions make up the class. I'd highly recommend her to anyone! She treated us all like a family!

Took her for both 121 and 122. The only reason not to pass her class is pure laziness. Anyone who tries and takes the time to meet with her and do 3 short papers and 1 medium size paper will probably make an A. Minimal reading. Probably four 3-5 page papers to read a week. You probably shouldn't be in college if you fail a class with her.

I was tempted to give Ms. Monds a bad rating just so it would be easier to get into her classes. I've been trying for days to get a seat. All five classes were full in the first 5 minutes of registration. BLAH! Still, I couldn't say anything bad about her. She's great! Just wish I could find a place in her 1020. I am not very good in english at all, so I was not looking forward to this class. Ms Monds though is an awesome teacher though! If you have trouble with anything you can go talk to her in her office and she is more than willing to help you! A very easy A if you go to class and do your work!

Ms. Mond is incredible. I took her both semesters of freshman english. She is funny and entertaining and makes english interesting. Above that she is very helpful. You will know exactly what to do and she have lots of evaluation so you know how to improve. She is very flirty with the guys too.. so watch out.

Monds isn't hard by any means but defiantly not the easiest. very understanding and laid back. Gives alot of little assignments all semester so you will always have some type of work. If you need to go step by step to write papers monds is for you. Very easy to understand only complaint is all the daily assignments more annoying then difficult.

Monds is one of those teachers who you can tell cares about you really learning something in her class. She doesn't just tell you to memorize or give you just enough to get by,she fights you to make you do better. I am the kind of student that needed that. She made me work. Hassled me when I didn't. She told me to do better-and then showed me how.

This class made me think deeply and see the world differently. Prof Monds takes difficult concepts and makes them easy to understand. The class involved readings, discussion, documentary films, activism, and a final project. She made the class fun, interesting, and most of all, meaningful. We talked about things that really mattered. Love her!

SHEENA! She is the coolest professor ever. She isn't someone who just wants you to regurgitate material; she actually cares about your understanding. Sweet as can be with the mouth of a sailor, but it's hilarious. She's different than most professors because she actually speaks her mind. Really cares for students individually. Makes material fun!

I LOVE SHEENA MONDS! Intro to WSTU was definitely an interesting course. She is laid back and super easy to talk to. You will become friends with her by the end of the semester. There are quite a few assigned readings, but they are short and the quizzes to go along with them are easy. Practically gives you the answers to test&finals in review sesh.

The thing that really separates Professor Monds from others is that she truly interacts with students and our work. She doesn't just provide written feedback- she sits down with you and has a conversation with you about your idea and about what needs to be improved. I was hesitant to take Women's Studies. I had no idea what to expect. Afterwards, I believe everyone should be required to take this class. So many important conversations. College should be about ideas and thinking that challenge you to see the world differently. This class and Prf. Monds do that. She's a world changer. So is her class. Take it.

I went in with already having basic knowledge of the issues we discussed in class, so for me it was a very boring class. Professor Monds is wonderful, very helpful. Definitely go to the review sessions for her tests! There is tons of extra credit offered as well. She seemed to talk a specific subject to death so be ready for long lectures.

I love this class! While it is an introductory course, Professor Monds provides a good mix of intro and more complex topics. One of the comments below said the "lectures" were long. This was not my experience. She rarely just lectured. The class was an open discussion and it felt like a place where we could all talk and share our ideas. So good!

You will work in this class, but Professor Monds is worth the work. She provides really detailed assignments sheets and is very approachable if you have questions or need help. She meets with you often and provides a lot of help and direction on assignments. No tests, 4-5 main assignments and a group project. Really enjoyed her class and her!

Monds is an all together wonderful person. She makes it a priority to get to know her students. She is extremely helpful on all assignments. The class consisted of 2 papers and a film project, so there is no heavy work and half of the classes are outside work. I personally will continue to take her classes and recommend you to take her too!!

Prior to Women's Studies, I had Monds for English. She's super chill and refers to herself as a badass (which she is). The class includes multiples readings each class along with a reading quiz about once a week. Each class period includes a discussion over the reading to help prepare for quizzes and tests. I highly recommend Monds as a Professor.

I took Sheena for Intro to Women's Studies and I loved her. She creates a fun, safe class environment. She cares about her students and will work with you to make you succeed. Her tests and quizzes are easy as long as you do the readings. Lots of reading but interested articles. Highly Recommend, would take again if I could.

Mrs. Monds was probably the best professor that I had for the school year. She is a very caring person who will reach out to you if she feels like there is something wrong. Her class works a lot, but she goes over everything in detail hoping that you can fully understand the assignment. Also, Mrs. Monds gives extensions on some of the assignments.

Dr. Monds could make any subject interesting because she is passionate about it and truly tries to engage everyone in the subject. She is a really nice balance of relatable and yet so freaking smart. I loved this class, even though I initially dreaded it. The group film project is a really cool assignment and she gives a lot of feedback. 10/10

This class was life changing. I feel like everyone should be required to take this class. Professor Monds makes the material interesting. She encourages discussion and critical thinking without judgement or being condescending. There is a lot of reading, attendance is a must, and participation does help your grade. But, the class is worth it.

TAKE THIS CLASSSSSSS!!! Sheena Monds is the best professor I have ever had! She is the most caring and genuinely wants you to succeed. Not to mention, this is the only class I looked forward to going to her class.

If I could I would take her again. Extremely engaging with her students and very understanding. She makes herself very easy to contact. Lovely person and very funny. You will love her class as long as you keep up with assignments when they are due, which they are not hard.

Dr. Monds is really worth the hype. She is funny, makes class interesting, and walks you through the assignments giving feedback throughout. At first she is intimidating but she is also one of the kindest people. She has high expectations (and grades hard), but she also spends a lot of time helping you get it right. Would definitely take her again

I got more from this class than any of my other college classes. You do read a lot and are expected to engage in class and in small weekly assignments, but the readings and assignments are interesting and thought provoking. Professor Monds is so smart, but she makes even difficult topics or concepts relatable to your life. Not easy but worth it.

Professor Monds is awesome, she is a great professor and really connects with you on a personal level. I didn't do a good job in her class grade-wise but I always looked forward to going to her class. She is excellent at her job not harsh at all, if youre looking for a great professor with not a huge workload take her classes!

Sheena is one of the best professors you will have for writing. She will help you get to the finish line even if you are someone who struggles for writing.

Sheena Monds was an Awesome Professor for ENGL 1011. The class does get heavy, because it is a hybrid course. Loves that each assighnment has a checklist for you to make sure you completed every task. Also love that she helps students writing get better if you are somone who struggles at writing

He was very kind and lenient about due dates. Her canvas is a little confusing but once you figure it out its easy. There are alot of assinments but they are usually pretty small. There was only 2 papers and one group assignment.

Prof Monds was AMAZING. So thorough in her lectures, a fantastic person, and she truly cares about her students' success and their understanding of the material. Lots of reading and participation is key, but I learned a lot in this course and I highly recommend her to anyone taking WGSS in the future!
