Energetic! She knows her stuff, very intelligent, helpful, and has time..well, she will tell you when she has time to meet with students ahead of time. Very good class! Every professor has their good and bad days. I like that she is very encouraging and talks to all equally.

I took this in the summer session and though it was intense, Dr. Wicks was very helpful and guided the students very well. She is very passionate and she talks a lot, though sometimes off topic.
Dr. Wicks, is a really smart professor!!!! She uses innovative technology with all anatomy and physiology systems. Some include; brains, hearts ,eyes and cadavers.I really like how helpful and caring she is toward the students. She brings a lot of her research and clinical experience in the classroom.

Dr. Wicks is an amazing teacher.She is so sweet and does everything possible to help her students. It is difficult material so you have to do your part in reading the book or slides she provides. Dr. Wicks is an outstanding professor! She was so helpful & was always available to her studuents. I was having such a hard time with biology before, but she made it all seem so effortless. Very engaging, fun & ejoyable. I loved attending her classes!!!
Dr. Wicks was BY FAR the best teacher I had at MXC. Her teaching skill are wonderful and if you need help she is right there. She has tons of energy and her class is never boring. She also is very smart and knows what she is talking about. Dr. Wicks also will help look for jobs for you if you are in need...I call that going above and beyond!!!!
She has exact study guides, if you want an easy A take the class. But as far as teaching goes, it was a TERRIBLE experience!

She is a wonderful teacher! I liked that when she stated she would give tests she preps you for the exact text that she will give. No surprises! She is very animated and loves helping her students!
Dr. Wrick is not only a excellent teacher, she's a great person. She actually cares about her students. And she brings tons of energy to the classroom which is always refreshing. Now I will say that her class is an easy A IF you study the material. But yeah awesome teacher!
I took this class Bio 226 during Spring 2013, and I was accepted into a Masters Program ! Dr Wicks .structures learning around real problems, settings–Since all students are learning, Her assessment allows students to understand their own learning styles....She's really good in teaching!
Dr. wicks is a wonderful professor who truly cares about her students and is very passionate about her teaching.Dr.wicks wants you to succeed and does her very best to show you the road map to success. If you read the material and come to class you can receive an A. The class is hard,but it challenges you to learn.I would take Dr. Wicks again.
Awesome instructor! Her enthusiasm and passion keeps you engaged during lecture and she keeps you on your toes with her style of quizzes and exams, many questions are short answer.

Really Great College Professor
Extremely moved by Dr. Wicks, she gives off this energy that makes oneself over look the bad things in life. Great motivator, but specially excellent professor! She makes you earn your grade!
Okay class. Not much structure in her teaching style, I like structure. Can ramble about current events and herself for 30 mins or in 15 min increments during class. 2 big tests, midterm and final. Others are quiz's which aren't bad. Labs were okay. Too many group projects, 3 total. Nice personality. Semi available to her students.
Dr. Wicks may know the ins and outs of what she is SUPPOSED to be lecturing about, but 95% of the class discussion was about everything other than A&P. Her class is definitely a self learn class and there are too many presentations. She was never on track with the syllabus and I can tell you all about what Spring 2015 will be doing.

Dr. Wicks is the best Anatomy professor I have ever had. She is helpful and makes sure you know the material like the back of your own hand! Her class is tough, solely because she expects your best. However, in the long run it is worth the effort and will give you the grade you deserve.

Dr. Wicks is an interesting professor. Very funny and always has energy. She does digress a lot but makes the class goes by fast. I learned so much because you are required to read prior to each class. she was always available for me and she's extremely approachable. She's the best instructor I've had at MXC. Her dedication to her students is gr8.

Dr. Wicks is a cool professor and she wants to give out all A's, but unfortunately everbody want get an A. At the end of the day if you don't come to class you run the risk of missing a lab, because there is a lab worth 50-125 points each class. Just go to class and do your work and you will get an A. She is a fair grader. Take her!
Dr. Wicks is amazing!!! She is a very educated lady, knows her stuff 10%. She can recite everything she knows of BIO 227 back and forward. Super! Tough class, but she makes it seem smoother.
Dr. Wicks is the best professor I ever had. She does such a great job of making the class enjoyable and has great knowledge on the subject. She is always available whenever I needed help with anything. Show up to class all the time, do all your work, and pay attention and you should do well in her BIO 226/227 class.

Spends all her time talking about current events and trying to get electronic devices to work. She seems to know what she's supposed to teach, but can't explain it in a useful way. I spent the whole class learning via Youtube when I was paying her to talk about celebs and their autopsies. Be present for labs. Easy A class, but you won't learn.

Dr Wicks Provides really great Clinical Cadaver Anatomy ! I just love the offsite teaching she does for her class at Rush University , Quite Unique!!!!
Wicks is very sweet and knowledable, that doesn't mean she teaches well. If you are pre-med or nursing, take someone else that can actually teach you. She is pretty rude, one sided and talks about everything else for the whole class but will have a lab and expect you to know the material. She will not have you ready for anything in the future.

Dr. Wicks is very straightforward in what she expects of her students. Show up to EVERY class, participate, and DON'T be late. She always stresses what will be testable content. Advice: download power points and notate what she stresses (i.e heart anatomy, diagrams, charts).Read the chapter from the anatomy book to fill in knowledge gaps.
She does speak about politics which made a lot of the students feel uncomfortable especially if they weren't on the same side as her. She's a great professor whenever she doesn't talk about politics and that's when I can respect her as a teacher; however, if a professor doesn't allow you to express your beliefs then why should any? Few years ago. Friendly, supportive if ya make good 1st impression, very energetic. Wants students to succeed. Cannot teach. Scattered. All true about celebs & politically polarizing. Didn't read my short answers on exams, just gave me points. Retaking A+P now; it's like taking it for the 1st time. Gave me letter of recc, was like a child wrote it.

she's is really an amazing teacher, coming to class is the key to passing her class, just study and you'll pass. she is a fair teacher who wants to see everyone pass. she gives extra credit every now and then too.

Amazing teacher! Make sure you read and study your chapters so that way you can follow along with her lectures. She will make sure you know what to spend your time on for the test. You will do well in the class as long as you show up pay attention and study what she tells you too.
I repeat do not take this class online at least with this professor. She doesnt given any instructions on the assignments, she doesnt give accurate due dates for her assignments. For example she will given an assignment on Monday and expect you to complete it but Wednesday. If this is an online class you should at least given the students time.

Prof. Wicks is by far the best professor I've ever had during my whole college career. She cares so much about her students and ensures all of her students pass. The material for the class is definitely a lot and she does her end by teaching the material during lecture and lab, so you have to make sure you put time to study outside of class. 11/10!
Professor Wicks is a nice lady, not a tough grader, & gives out credit just for showing up to class sometimes. She tells you what to look at for test & doesnt give out a lot of homework. However, I feel like this class wasn't organized and didn't learn much. She got off topic too much during the lectures so most of the time you're teaching yourself
Remarkable and Tough Professor!
A lot of CCC online professors aren't the best and I would say she is mediocre. Her grammar was sloppy with emails but at least she'd reply back. The material was easy but she would always grade things late, which honestly stressed me out. I can also tell she has issues with technology but overall she was patient and fair.

Brain and spinal cord dissection in this Anatomy class appreciated Professor Wicks is thorough for each dissection explaining physiology mechanics including pharmacology highly recommend this class !
She does NOT play, helps you out so much, and truly cares! But if you skip class you won't pass!!
You skip her class, you will fail. 100 lab points given daily, she goes over exams and quizzes in detail. The only homework given is to read and memorize the criteria. Easy A for the midterm. Sounds easy right? BEWARE!!! it all comes down to the Final! you miss it, it's an automatic fail. You score less than a 70 on final your A can become a C.
DON'T TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO LEARN! Don't be fooled by the good reviews! She rushes through presentations, so you pretty much teach yourself everything. She tends to go off on tangents every class period, which is very distracting. Everything was unorganized/rushed since she doesn't use a syllabus. You MUST go to class to pass!

Fabulous Teaching Strategies Not an Easy A.
Best bio teacher I've ever had. Very understanding and committed. I wish i had taken her for 121 and 226. Lots of opportunities to get good grades
Enthusiastic, but loves to talk. Really rushes through the material and does not explain the material well. Uses phrases like "you need to know this" to explain something and moves directly into the next topic. She is smart, but I wish she would show that and actually explain topics in class rather than running through them.
There is no question that she absolutely knows all the information and is a smart. person but she is a HORRIBLE teacher... she cannot even complete one sentence without getting distracted and saying something completely unrelated. If you want to get an easy A then definitely take this class! But if you want to learn 100% do not.
Really Technological Savvy Professor ! She. well versed with. Blackboard and Bright Space ! I highly recommend this Professor for the new remote system and Online Science Education !
Professor Wicks is a very smart teacher and was able to teach us when her computer was down. Due to the coronavirus we had to start remote learning. The lectures was extremely long and we didn't get any breaks and this class is 3 hrs long. She can be very rude at times. I pass with an A but I wouldn't take her class again.
If you want an easy A go ahead and take her. If you actually want to learn the material though I wouldnt recommend her. Shes not good with technology and is all over the place with her lectures. She goes over multiple chapters a day and goes really fast. You will most likely have to teach yourself everything.

This is a professor who is tenure and she will make sure you know that repeatedly through the course or when you try to ever correct her. She can be rude when challenged for a professor who has ALOT of trouble using zoom. She is very knowledgeable and it's clear that she is, but doesn't know how to teach. Get ready to learn everything on your own
She is very knowledgable & smart but she is unorganized & not tech savvy at all. This was an easy A but I didn't learn anything. She moves too fast with the lectures & expects students to perform verbal labs at the end for daily participation points. She will definitely annoy you sometimes, take at your own risk. She probably shouldn't be teaching
She is very technologically challenged. She did not answer any of my emails throughout the semester. She is okay, she goes through the lectures quickly. She will call on everyone to answer a question at the end of her class for points. I learned nothing in her class.
Do not take this professor. The class is all over the place. No organization whatsoever. Easy A, but you will not learn anything except about her teaching doctors at Rush. She is knowledgeable about the information but is a horrible teacher. Do not be fooled by the other positive reviews. They are EXTREMELY biased, trust me.

Knowledgable but TERRIBLE at teaching. Maybe it was because my class was online, but her method was to read each med term off of her slides for about 2 hours and then calls your name at the end to ask you to say a few words for points. Her mic muted during classes for an hour and she didn't realize or go back. Easy A, but waste of time and money.
Professor Wick is great I took her course Summer fast pace 8 weeks but you will learn. She does everything verbal from labs, to exams. She is a great professor attendance is mandatory don't come to class you won't pass.
I took biology 227 in the summer semester. I was very worried because this semester has only 8 weeks and the class itself is difficult. But professor S. Wicks treats everything with understanding and tries to ensure that everyone successfully graduates from her class. I did not regret choosing her.
She denied such a sweet classmate to ask a question, it was about which type of fruit diabetic people can consume. Never in my life I have had such a bad Professor. I've been wanting to report her but don't know where to do so. She is mean and disrespectful. She gives students an A so that students do not report her. What a shame. Don't take her!!

The Best with Extensive Experience in Teaching. Research. & Practice!
I had her for anatomy and physiology 2 and I learned nothing. She doesn't know how to teach and talks so much in the beginning of class, and it's not even related to the class. It's only an easy grade because she grades attendance and makes you participate at the end of class for points, that's all you get graded for. Don't take her classes.
This is my second time taking Wicks due to the fact that my credits expired. I took her class during the summer. She was a better teacher 5 years ago than she is now. She gets off topic a lot. Quizzes are take home so that's an easy A. You have to teach yourself. She will call your name for participation points.
I was terrified to take A&P 2, but I got a 98 in her class. If you want an easy A, take her!!! Easy take home quiz. For exams, you have a midterm and a final, the exams are in person and you take it on the computer. Listen to her classes and she will give you the questions on the exam. TRUST ME AND TAKE HER!! You will have to teach yourself though.
