First math class i took in college. Great teacher!! Never got lower than a B on any test. Final grade was an A+. I passed with a 95%! Very clear, makes material very understandable. Just pay attention and ask questions.

she seems really nice and easy to talk to. The thing I hated was how she taught-she used an overhead projector and after working 8hrs on the comp you feel blind. Also taught new material before giving test on old one.

sheila is great, yeah she drills you with work yet that is the way i learned and held it in, she is really good, and yeah... watch out for the thong.

Very organized, explains well, gives lot of examples. She covers the material well. Put in your time and you should do fine. I studied a lot and got a B. It helps when you practice the homework assigned.

Sheila is a great teacher. Take her or Mr.Andrew Medin they both are great. The Only thing with Sheila is that she never lets you out early. She could be done with her lecture 25min before class ends and the rest of the time she gives examples.

I took her on summer, and it was such an easy class. She covers her matearial in a way everybody could understand it. She assigns you homework from each chapter. Just be on class everyday and you will pass the class. she such an azazing tacher

She is really clear when she explains the work. she gives example of every possible way on how to answer a problem. Her test are straight forward.

Shelia and Andrew Medin are the best, HOTTEST teachers on our campus. They are so clear you don't NEED to ask questions. Never haveI come across teachers who could break down formulas the way they do. They both have a gift not just expertise. If you do not choose one of the Medin's you will be doing yourself an injustice.

this teacher is great. explain ever thing well. just do the homework and come to class and you will do good. she is the best teacher math in southwestern college. explain the problems well. if have a hard trouble in math you should take her.

i took her a while back for math 45. i regret not taking her for math 65. i havent had a prof teach nearly as clear as she had for me. ive gone through 2 others and they werent as good as medin. shes a great teacher that makes sure you understand. its pretty much how much effort you put into the homework that will decide you outcome. shes good.

Sheila is very good!She knows everything about math, she taught me shortcuts that I never thought existed.There are 4 exams, 10 quizzes (1 for every chapter).You don't need a text book in her class she did a copy right with the author, so the "note book" for her class has everything you need to know.It was $65 when I bought it.She drops 1exam 2quiz

Awesome teacher!!! Explains everything extremely well and if you need any clarification she is willing to spend time explaining it until you understand it. All homework is done online but she gives you like 2 or 3 weeks to finish it.

Just come to class everyday, pay attention, do work, and overall apply urself!!!

This teacher loves math and loves people. She is easy to talk to and her instructions are clear. She has no problem helping students and I get the feeling she wants us to get it right. I could have done better if I had completed all assignments.

Her teaching skills are very good. She breaks things down so you can understand and does not rush threw the material. you do not need a "textbook" for her class but she made a binder of notes you need.. for purchase and is very useful. If your math is not your strong subject take her class...

Wonderful Professor. Took the compressed summer session which makes the course more challenging, but was able to keep up and understand the concepts thanks to Sheila's knowledge and teaching expertise. (She's a very patient and caring instructor.) Used Math XL, and a course binder (she authored) rather than an expensive textbook.

This class alone is easy, but she especially makes it easy because she repeats herself so much that you cannot forget any informationlessons. There's only 5 tests, which can easily be passed if you do well on your online hw and quiz! She's a bit sarcastic when answering people's questions, but don't be intimidated! She will help you.

Every once in a while you'll come across a professor that is just meant to teach, Sheila Medin is one of them. Math comes natural to her and she takes multiple approaches to the material so that everyone understands. She is very attentive and straightforward. Thanks to her I not only understood the material, I truly began to enjoy math. SWC's best.

Good lecturer, clear expectations, and works with you when life happens (like if your wife gets pregnant in the middle of the semester and her ultrasound is scheduled for test day and you're going to be late.) Only down side is that she requires homework be 80% done before you can take a quiz, which can be troublesome if you're facing a deadline.

She's one of the best teacher I had in math 45. For her class, it would only require to buy mathxl code and the binder book that you can buy across the street because she uses that as her notes in the class.

Sheila is a great instructor! I hadn't take a math course in five years and she made it seem like I was doing math just the night before. She's easy to understand despite her accent. She makes it a point to know her students' names and she's a stickler for attendance. You don't need the book, just a math note binder sold at Otay Books & MathXL.

Such an amazing professor! She really knows how to break things down so you truly understand the concepts and when to use them! I have taken (and failed) many math classes in my day and hers was the first class I have taken that I never once felt totally lost. She also doesn't have you buy a book, just the online code which is much cheaper!

Professor Medin is awesome. She cares about students and lectures well. Study for test and pay attention and you will be good to go. The best part of class was when she would step outside to yell at the crow that would regularly squack during lecture. Also, shes beautiful :).

Prof Medin teaches quickly. One or two chapters she covers over and over but you need to be a quick learner. She gives you an opportunity to pass her class that is for sure! Beware of questions if you can't take a little lash back. I think shes the greatest though not everyone can keep up or tolerate. You can pass her class and that counts. Mathxl

Sheila is great! I've always struggled with math, but she breaks down the concepts and repeats them over the entire semester to help reinforce them. Homework in MathXL and she creates a binder for us to use instead of a book ($55 Otay Books). She speaks and works quickly, but she's accurate and concise. Show up and do the work, you'll pass!

this professor is tough, strict, she doesn't treat everyone equally. However, if you do not skip classes, work really hard, do all the homework, pay close attention to the class, don't make questions, and take all the test and quizzes you'll be fine.

Mrs. Medin is by far the best Math professor I've taken. I took this course at City college several times and did not pass it. I took this class on the summer and yes it was a lot of hw and it was fast but I learned a lot. She was so nice I wanted to hug her however she is a tough grader and very strict but nothing out of the ordinary. Love her!

I am not good in math. But her teaching made me understand math faster. Her class is never boring time passes by fast because she is always lecturing, reviewing and doing math problems. ALWAYS go to class, you'll be lost if you miss one class since she covers a lot. we used MATH XL, los of homework. She is an amazing teacher.

Math is hard but professor medin explains in detail to make it easier. Provides study guides which are so helpful. She shows you how to even use the calculator correctly, makes a differnce. arrives to class 30 min early for students who have questions. She provides extra credit if you dont miss. I enjoyed her class even though I hate math.

The class started with more than 30 students and end with 15. The class isn't difficult. She explains clearly and give examples. If you put attention to the class and do some exercises in the MathXL, you will get >90 in the test. Homework worth 15%, so you can skip if you get tired (too much). She give an extra 10% for your carpet that do in class.

Professor Medin is extremely nice and cares for her students success in her class. There were quizzes and homework given on MyLabMath. I took her course during the spring 2020 semester before everything was switched online and despite switching online, I was still able understand the material well. I would definitely recommended taking her.
