Dr. Dickerson is a great lecturer for a class that is difficult in general. As long as you show up to class, it will be easier to study for the tests. Dickerson does not go through PowerPoint slides like the other professor of this course. If you like a professor who rewrites notes to make it easier to understand I recommend you take her.

Dr. Dickerson is literally the best chemistry professor! UGA Ochem is notoriously difficult, but Dr. Dickerson made it enjoyable! I know a lot of the reviews say she's rude and condescending, but she did not come off that way in my opinion. She was always so nice & helpful when I had questions, and it was clear she actually cared for our success!

OChem is hard, full stop. Dickerson won't baby you or lie to protect your feelings, but she's competent, honest, and fair. Your success in the class mostly depends on how much you study on your own, but she's always communicative and makes herself super available (office hours, email, staying after class) to help. Also quite a funny lecturer.

O-Chem is already a hard course at UGA, but she makes the experience better. She's very funny, accessible, realistic, and honest with her students. To summarize, she simplifies content, writes notes with you, squarecap for attendance, recitation, exam resources, and plenty of office hours. Use the textbook and Pearson outside of class to do well.

Very fun and caring professor. Has sarcastic humor, but can come off as rude to those who do not like that. Provides many resources for exam preparation. Squarecap questions almost every class for participation. Does handwritten notes. Do lots of practice problems from textbook. Interactive with class. Uses questions to guide students to answers.

Honestly, Ochem no matter what will be hard here at UGA. You will need to put in a lot of work and utilize outside resources, it'll make such a difference. Dr.Dickerson is honestly one of my favorite chem professors at UGA! She is very sweet and tough on her students but the way she cares for her students is what makes her such a great professor.

Dr. Dickerson's lectures were extremely example heavy which helped a lot in learning the material. If you benefit from practice problems definitely take her. She's fun and sarcastic which makes the lectures as enjoyable as Ochem can possibly be. Ochem will be hard no matter what but she does her best to make sure we understand it.

No matter what, ochem is a terrible class. No professor can save you from that, but she did her best to try. There is so much material in this class that it'd be nearly impossible to cover everything in depth. The textbook is very easy to understand and has a Pearson Plus feature that is a game changer.

O-Chem is hard. It has wide variety of topics and lots of content. However, I think that Dr. Dickerson did a great job. Her examples weren't as difficult as test questions, you could follow along when you learned it, but definitely need to seek other sources for practice. Show up and engage in learning every class and recitation and ask questions.

Great class examples and funny during lecture. Squarecap questions daily for accuracy. Kinda sassy and dismissive if you go to talk to her at the end of class/recitation. Obviously tests are hard, do recitation, use textbook problems and get ScienceGuyz.

It's not Dickerson's fault that the course is hard. She genuinely wants you to succeed. Yes, it's frustrating that chem exams are hard and the course is test heavy, but I loved her. Office hours were extremely helpful, and she cares about her students. I highly recommend her, but you have to put in the work, just like all chem at uga.

Maybe it was just Ochem vs gen chem but I enjoyed the class and her teaching style way more. Class was still hard but Dickerson was aware that we are human and learning the material for the first time.

She's condescending and pretty rude on average, but I benefited from her lectures because she is engaging and goes at a good pace.

The best chemistry professor I have ever had, if not the best professor period. Very helpful and wants to see you succeed. The class is not easy, its chemistry, but she makes it much more enjoyable and is always willing to help. I would honestly be willing to take more chems if they were all with her.

I've taken orgo and passed at another school but had to take it again. I think Dr. Dickerson teaches at a slow and comfortable pace compared to other orgo classes. I think I saw some reviews saying she is rude before signing up but she is very nice and those people are just sensitive. Not especially hard for an Orgo class.

I LOVE YOU DR. DICKERSON! But in all realness, she is an excellent lecturer, and is very good at explaining complex topics. It's ochem, so I hate her class, obviously, but I am SO glad she was my professor. She WANTS to teach you and help you. Super great office hours and review sessions.

This class is hard. Dr. Dickerson is a good lecturer by all means, there's just no way that you'd ever be able to get all the information solely out of lecture. She is funny and interacts well with her class - I don't see the same passive aggressiveness others mention. OChem here is hard and lab is somehow probably just as hard yet separate.

It's no secret: orgo is already an extremely difficult class. Dr. Dickerson is a good lecturer but her lectures could be a bit confusing + I couldn't figure out the best method for notetaking. I wish there was more organization on a department level. It also seemed that the key to passing was a ScienceGuyz subscription. Class Divide, literally.

Ochem sucks, but I liked her class. Fun to listen to and I liked the way she explained things. You still probably need SG and the tests will definitely be terrible regardless. But I really liked her as a teacher and imo I'd say she's your best option. Don't let yourself get behind in the content because you won't catch back up

I am absolutely awful at chemistry but Dickerson is great and made it way more interesting. Of course this class is super difficult but I enjoyed the content so much more than gen chem 1 and 2. The only reason I'm not giving her a 5 is because she is hard to reach over email sometimes. Overall, she is a wonderful professor.

Dickerson is a good lecturer but can be a tough/blunt person. Lectures are way too simplified compared to exam material. Get a ScienceGuyz subscription and put in the hours. The spring exams are also always much easier than the fall exams which isnt fair but thats just uga chem being awful like always so take ochem 1 in the spring.

Dickerson was a very nice person but her lectures often did not cover all the content needed for the class. Things that were not learned in class were often on the webassign quizzes and recitations. Make sure you start studying for exams multiple days in advance because the content is very hard. Also, get ready for lab reports every week!!

I felt that Dr. Dickerson was an engaging lecturer, who taught a little bit too quickly for the content to truly stick. Her style involves a lot of back and forth with the class, meaning that she expects people to talk back to her and answer questions out loud. While it is expensive, Science Guyz definitely helped out on the tests.

I liked Dr. Dickerson. She has a very sarcastic personality which is why I think people say she is mean. I will agree with others in the fact that she is not great at responding to emails. I enjoyed her lectures and was able to learn from them. Ochem sucks no matter who you take but Dickerson is a good teacher.

Dr. Dickerson was the difference between night and day in Ochem 1. I love her so much. She is so kind, funny, understanding, and she is an amazing lecturer. She truly wants all her students to succeed, so please go to office hours if you are struggling/ have any questions/ just want to get to know her better. The best period.

She was always sitting down while teaching and she goes by so fast. If you want a lecture heavy and fast professor, this is a good class. She won't stop for you, but as long as you pay attention, it's a good class if there is no one else..

Dr Dickerson is amazing! She teaches clearly and will help you after class if you still have questions. She uses powerpoints and they are well organized. No matter what prof you have chemistry is just a hard subject you have to put the work in for an A.

Dr. Dickerson was a great professor overall. She was funny, and she explained things in a way that someone with no background knowledge would understand. The UGA ochem exams are hard regardless of professor. Get scienceguyz, only reason I didn't fail.

Ochem is going to be hard, but Dr. Dickerson does what she can to make it easier. She always answers questions, and she has a ton of office hours. She also uploads her own videos to elc and includes practice questions in every lecture. She is very engaging, and her lectures are worth attending. The tests are hard, though.

All chem profs work together, so exams suck. Prof was fun and likes to have students interact back with her. O'chem is hard in general. She will try to help if she can. I would read textbook bc many exam Q on it. SciGuys full semester w/tutoring is best bet for understanding and for recitations. She'll do attendance do Qs, dont get caught cheating

Out of all the Ochem profs, Dr. Dickerson is one of the best. Her lectures are well organized and easy to follow, she posts all her notes and annotated notes, and she clarifies what we need to know for the exam. It is a fast paced class, but that will be the same no matter the prof. She can also be really funny even if she is harsh sometimes

I really enjoyed her dry sense of humor, and her office hours were really helpful. A lot of people say that she was rude, but she really isn't. Chemistry is hard, so you have to learn how to study; you can not blame the professor. People do poorly on their exams and blame their professors. I promise you will be fine if you put in the work.

I took her class last semester and thought it was hard but took Ochem 2 and realized she did so much for us. Can be hard to approach but go to office hours and study sesh and show you want to try. Lectures are organized and straight forward. Ochem is notoriously hard but she explains things well even if it doesn't seem like she has a good attitude

Class was pretty hard but she was a cool teacher. If you go to her office hours then you'll do a lot better and she is pretty understanding. I think she makes the exams so she emphasizes questions in the office hours of stuff that's probably gonna be on them.

The best chemistry professor I have ever had! Made a super difficult course seem approachable and able to do. She was funny too, I loved her tbh, don't really know other chem professors that are this hype.

she's the best professor out of all of the profs. she's def. passive aggressive and snarky sometimes but she means well. she does care but you have to put in work to go to her office hours etc. go to class. give lots of extra practice and uploads things timely. def take her if she's available.

Ochem is hard there is nothing anybody can do about it. Dr. Dickerson is one of the best lecturers for Ochem. She explains things in a way that is very easy to understand and keeps people engaged. She can be a little mean when answering questions but if you dont take it personally you are good. Science guyz is a must for any professor though.

She's the best professor for organic chemistry. She teaches and explains concepts in a way that makes them easier to understand, but sometimes it's too simple. She does SquareCap every lecture. I still would recommend getting ScienceGuyz.

Organic Chemistry is going to be a difficult class no matter who your professor is. Out of all the professors offered, Dr. Dickerson is truly the best. She is straight to the point and blunt, but an amazing teacher. She offers so many materials and practice problems, which you need to do. Be prepared to work hard, but an A is 100% achievable.

Dr. Dickerson is the go-to professor for Organic Chemistry. She explains concepts clearly, walks you through problems step-by-step, and posts tons of helpful resources on eLC. Her daily class announcements keep you on track. She genuinely cares about her students—go to her office hours!

Dr. Dickerson is a great professor for ochem 1! I really recommend her since she's straight to the point, funny, engaging, and cares about her students. Make sure you come to lecture for SquareCap! As long as you practice outside of class and go to lectures you will be just fine! I also recommend ScienceGuyz for anybody no matter your skill level.

Dr. Dickerson is my favorite chemistry prof I've had. She gets a bad wrap but she truly wants people to understand the material. She does not like multiple choice, but in Ochem, it makes sense. The only way I succeeded was by reviewing the material BEFORE class. If you put in the work, you will be fine. She is the best option for orgo

She is the best chemistry professor that I have had at UGA. If you go to class and pay attention to lectures and study the slides and other materials, it's possible to do well. This is a very fast paced course with a lot of recognizing reactions so make sure you stay on top of knowing reactions. She has lots of office hours which are very helpful.

I liked her, my grade is mostly due to my lack of attention this semester. The 2nd exam was more difficult than anticipated, but it is ochem 2 so it can be difficult no matter what. Def like her lecture style more than other ochem prof's, all in all she was good and I recommend her the most!

Dr. Dickerson is a great professor, ochem 2 is a hard class but she makes it approachable and is always available to help. I highly recomend taking her if you can.
