Hands down the best professor I have had in my career at Sac State. Extremely knowledgable, and his stories from when he was an officer makes you want to attend class everyday. The reading is a must for the chapters, but the material is very straightfoward. A rare very helpful professor!

Hes a jerk and shouldnt be teaching the class. Always talked about how the white man treated the black man and its still our fault how our ancestors treated eachother. 1st time in his office hours he called me a spoiled brat cuz I said my parents are paying my tuition and didnt show me any respect the rest of the class. I will never take him again.

I can honestly say I didn't learn anything useful in this class. Uses a book that is severely outdated, only because it shares his views of race in America. He encourages discussion but gets irritated if you say something he doesn't agree with. He's an easy professor, but his class was useless.

Teacher is very one sided. He believe one way that that's his way, his perception, and his background. If you not really a rebel and you don't mind hear a close mind person talk then take this class. it's easy, the guy is very wise when it come to how to be a cop. He's a smart guy but i sometimes wonder if he could support he teaches with facts.

He is by far the most unfair teacher I have ever taken. He does provide extra credit, but when I went into his office hours the first time he told all I me I was "white privileged," and that everything has always been handed to me. He sat me down for an hour to tell me what kind of person he thought I was, none of which was positive.

Moffats exams are based off his lectures and what HE says. Go to class if you want to do well on the exams since they're not recorded. He is a good professor, he provides you with tons of info and stories of his own personal experience. He doesn't accept late work or offer extra credit.

Dr. Moffatt is a great professor! He is lecture heavy. He expects you to come to class, pay attention and take notes. He is very approachable and encourages you to ask questions and reach out to him. He will not spoon feed you grades, he does expect that you earn them. You can definitely learn a lot from him if you put in effort though.

Honestly one of the best professors i've had. He was very cooperative and a nice teacher. There's 3-4 exams throughout the semester and you have to respond with the information he provides in his lectures, which is why it's mandatory to go. We made a group-me for our class to it was helpful. Make sure you participate/turn on your camera.

Professor Moffatt was amazing!!! Very easy grader, funny, caring, and inspirational. Most of our grade is based on the midterms and quizzes. I'm sure we had no homework besides that. He does not do lectures with a slide, he does it old school but I find it much more interesting and everything he says correlates with our quiz/test questions.

Just go to class, write down what he says, and boom easy A. He literally sometimes tells us what the questions will be on the exam, and goes over notes if needed and will help in office hours, also great lectures, they are amazing, 10/10 would take again.

I would 100% recommend this course to anyone interested in criminal justice. Professor Moffatt is very caring about his students and his profession. No homework or assignments other than a midterm, and the final. So simple! Whats on the midterm/final is said in the lecture so just go to class, take notes and you will pass easily with an A.
