Unorganized rude to everyone, even the students older than him and condescending. He also has trouble forming ideas so if your not familiar with sociology prepare to be confused. And I feel I need to go back to the rude issue, he any question is greeted with a sneer & condescending tone. Most of the questions are about his typos AVOID AT ALL COST!!

THINKS HE'S TEACHNG AT A FOUR YEAR INSTITUION. ALWAYS LATE TO CLASS, PLUS HIS GAY. PROFESSOR, SERIOUSLY, U NEED TO TAKE IT EASY ON THESE STUDENTS.

The words rude, obnoxious, and hostile do not even begin to describe this "professor". He has a major chip on his shoulder. He has clearly gone through too much in his life and feels the need to take it out on others. I DO NOT recommend this professor. Take another professor if possible.

He is always late to class. He never write you back on a email. He is rude also he is very unorganized. whatever you do dont ask him questions.

DO NOT take this class. Most of the learning you do is based on films and readings, and homework which is obvious..I mean you're in college. However, he can be rude and vague. only one test which is hard and a research paper. He's always going of on how assignments can't be late but hes always late.I can honestly not wait till this class is over.

It was his first time teaching at Farmingdale state and I hope his last. I have no problem with writing in college however he does not grade the assignments until the end of the semester, so how are we suppose to know how exactly we are doing in the course. He says he will post assignments/ material on blackboard but never gets around to it.

He's an ok teacher but his attitude is disgusting. He assigns a lot of readings and watches quite a few films. He does not reply to emails often so try your luck. If you don't understand something best bet is to ask a classmate because he hates repeating himself & tends to give nasty attitudes.

One of the worst classes I have ever taken in my life. Not only was he very disorganized but had a crazy attitude. For the last month of school he didn't show up for 3 weeks. On the last day of class he gives us a last minute 5 page paper to do and rush every student through a 5 minute presentation that half of your grade. The class is SOC240.

He is the worst professor ever. That attitude has to go. He is so unprofessional, always comes late to class and don't know how to talk to people. i wouldn't recommend him to be honest.

honestly never rated a prof before but from the beginning of my class with this prof he was sketchy. he graded my assignments late when they were always on time. you would think that since he has a "PHD" he would be more professional. his attitude and disrespect is the only reason I won't take him ever again !

Honestly was not a good professor. He was rude and always made sure everyone knew he was smart and had a "PHD" (beware he says this a lot). Applewhite also doesn't like to be told he is wrong. He once yelled at me when I tried telling him something he didn't post online. Never got an apology. Also doesn't grade on time. He's all over the place.

If you want to take him good luck. He is very rude and unprofessional, he doesn't respond to emails. you also have 3 final exams, 1 reflection paper and revel app assignments also if you don't make it to zoom lectures you have to write a brief written assignment regarding his lecture in order for attendance. Just submit your work on time.

Unprofessional and disorganized. Do not respond back to e-mails. More interested in presenting his accomplishments, rather than teaching. He will disrespect you if you don't call him Dr. Applewhite, and if you have a different opinion than his you are a target. Quizzes make no sense with the chapters of the book. Book is expensive and mandatory.

Worst Professor I have ever had. Very disorganized with unclear deadlines and late to post assignments and tests (according to his own syllabus). Does not like to be contacted and does not reply to emails (which is essential in a remote setting). The class was not hard to get a good grade in.

He is the worst. Do not take him. He is disorganized, didnt post on BB till March. He doesnt like you asking clarifying Qs. He interrupts when students try to answer. He does not answer emails. He does not assign HW himself its all on REVEL so prepare to pay $80. He is really rude. Do not take. Avoid at all cost. If you do take him, good luck.

He literally would cancel class or show up late the first few weeks of class, but when you didnt show up it was a problem. He was so unorganized but hated when students didnt know about the homework or had clarifying questions.

This Professor is so unorganized I HIGHLY recommend don't take him avoid this professor because he is very disrespectful towards the students. I tried asking a question in class and he was rude and told me he does not answer questions in class. He doesn't I mean does not reply to your emails whatsoever so if you have a question you're on your own

Hates being wrong, never replys to my emails, I literally sent the same email to him three times still no reply, he does not like students being late yet shows up late like. Do not take the class if you want a bad grade.

He's sassy and a smarty pants. You will have a lot of work to complete if you take this course ( 3-4 page essays and you'll pay 75 dollars for revel, which also has assignments.) He gave us 1 hour for 100 questions on a quiz! If your work isn't long enough he'll says he wont grade it & Its not worth his time. Maybe he should teach at Harvard!

A unorganized professor, professionally and personally. Appears unkempt, like he just rolled out of bed. He often does not show up for class, and cancels last minute. Does not respond to emails. Ever. He is rude and disrespectful to students and seems bothered that students show up for class. Angry. Avoid at all cost. He should not be an educator.

I wouldnt recommend taking this class because of the Professor and the amount of work that he gives; like why do you want 3-5 page essays with no double space and no heading? I think assignments would be much better if we got the chance to create our own questions and found solutions for them, like real sociologists do.

As a woman I dont think you would enjoy this class because I feel as though too much information is based on a dudes perspective, ideas & solutions.

Not fit to teach anything to anyone. Extremely disorganized, posts assignments and never explains them, blames students for his own mistakes, end of semester and haven't received any grades, assigned our final project with two weeks left of the semester. Feel like I should be refunded for this class.

I was counting the days for this course to be over! This is the worst class I ever had. He is so rude and gives out assignments that he doesn't care to grade. I would not recommend.

if i could give this professor a zero rating, i absolutely would. this is the worst professor i have ever had my entire academic career. he does not answer emails, is very condescending towards students and believes that just because he is a professor, he can do no wrong. the kicker is that the semester is over, and i dont know my grade at all

This was the worst class and professor I have ever had. Do not take him as he is very disrespectful toward any student. He does not take questions or respond to emails. He never explains any assignments so you are left in the dark the whole semester. Overall, a horrible experience and he should be fired. I do not know my grade has barely graded.

Honestly passing the class is not hard just do the work. But if you have questions dont expect to have answered emails. Hes very nice nasty and a little snotty. Gets rude because you asked a simple question for clarification. Also didnt feel like I learned anything about sociology. I feel like it was a waste

He isn't good at responding back to emails or even questions in class, he doesn't hear you out and can be very rude at unnecessary things.

if you are a serious student that wants to learn something by the end of the semester then do not take this professor but if all you care about is a grade then attendance, participation exams and assignments is all you need. worst professor i ever took.

Does not take teaching serious, was super serious about posting assignments saying we had a week once he posted it, but would post assignments on a Saturday and make them due Wednesday. Argued with a student because she did not see the office hours zoom link which was not there, and screamed at her for not "seeing it".

Textbook/assignments are online but still costs money. Study guides he gives for exams are useless and he puts material we haven't learned in class on the midterm, my class went from full to there being only like 8 of us left by October. Cancels class at random times on short notice, also didn't make an announcement when he returned to class.

I advise anyone that is planning to take sociology. IM TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW, DO NOT TAKE SHELDON APPLEWHITES COURSE. if youre not religious, you will be at the end of his course. He is extremely unorganized and on top of that he is extremely rude to students who are struggling. If you value your education, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

I feel like he's reluctant to give out good grades and also not very clear with what he wants from us in his assignments. Wish I could go back and register with a different professor. (He's also kinda rude when you don't get the assignments).

Took his 8 week online asynchronous course. No postings for 3 + weeks. Not one single email of 10 was answered. Readings are assigned one month in advance to the corresponding quizzes and tests for them. Given 1 week to finish roughly 4+ hours of work at a time. 80$ Online textbook is required to take course but not listed when signing up. Veryeasy

Professor should be fired to be honest. I have no idea why they keep him here. This man can't do his job properly and yet has the nerve to be a tough grader. BMCC needs to fire this degenerate, I'd strongly advise you to not take this class if you have an ounce of self respect for yourself.

The laziest professor I have ever encountered. Didn't receive any grades on assignments throughout the whole semester even after several conversations & making annnoucemets to the class saying he was going to post our progress report. He cancelled class last minute & once didn't show up without notice. HE SHOULD BE FIRED

The worst professor. Gives tons of homework but doesn't care to rate them. He is extremely disorganized. Has a lot of attitude, classes are interesting though. The only good thing was the SI, very kind and explains very well. Do not take this class, specially if you are a freshman.

Don't recommend taking this class if you look forward to a bright future. This professor is very inconsistent and lazy with grading assignments. He can also be rude at times when approaching him. Leaves plenty of work that requires plenty of reading. All of this for no reason, he doesn't grade nothing.
