She teaches thouroughly, but she messed up our first test. Made it way too long for the time given. That shows definite signs of a new teacher to this subject.
She knows the material but she has a hard time explaining it. I suggest people not to take her not in less ur are very good in calculus
you have to know what your doing on the test becasue there is not a lot of time

Interesting class but the tests tended to be long for the class time.
I didn't really like how she teached her stats class, her notes are easy but when it gets to exams- i thought it was hard. if you rely on step by step teachings i would recommend prof grant.
Took her class and dropped it coz was doing bad. took it again the very next semester with another teacher. that one dropped so hamilton walks in the first day and i'm just open-mouthed! I repeat: She knows the material but she has a very hard time explaining it. tests are alright.. just make sure to do the homework on time. got a B the 2nd time!
She gives random attendence grades so make sure you show up to class. I don't really see how you could not make a B in her class if you just show up and do the hw. She is very clear but is not helpful in any way outside of class. She seemed very agitated when I came to her office for help. Just do the work and you will pass.
She's a pretty okay teacher. But the only thing that's really bad is that she goes straight from the examples in the book. Kinda pointless. Gives attendance quizzes! Just do your HW and you're good to go. I like math, so this class was pretty easy for me, but others in my class seem to think otherwise. I guess she needs to work on her explanations.
This class is one where you definitely need to keep up with the daily assignments and reading the book before class. You will not make it through if you don't do the assigned problems. She allows you to ask questions from the homework and before tests--take advantage of this time as it is not easy to catch her otherwise.
WOW! Talk about a waste of money. The woman was not helpful and canceled class at least 4 times. She reads from the book, but doesn't prepare you for tests.
Okay teacher and cancels class often without any notice ... If you attend the class and keep up with the homework you'll do good!
I would not recommend taking this teacher unless you are very confident with all math skills. She knows the material but cannot teach. Also cancels class a ton!!!!
i would not recommend this prof to anyone. she tells us if we do not pass our 2nd test than we should drop out. also, she says the 2nd test is harder than the first one, which my friends and i failed.. my friends are very bright students too!! the students in the class asks stupid questions to waste time, so she rushes her lectures! she doesn't car
She's not that great of a professor. When she explains concepts, I really didn't understand. Plus, her exams are quite difficult even if you do study! Exam 2 was very difficult (the practice tests definitely didn't help me), but exam 1 was alright (do the practice exam and hw questions and it'll help a lot). Retaking this class SP 09 taught by so
This class is quite hard for me. I did well in College Algebra (received a B), but did horrible my first test (I got a D) and am contemplating dropping out after taking my 2nd exam. Her notes in class really didn't prepare me for the exams, which had different format and questions. She is also very busy and is hard to get a hold of if you need help
statistics class. supposed to be easy. she reads from the book and does the examples from the book. horrible teacher. rude, controlling. condescending, too busy for students. fake. cancels class without notice often, controlling. takes attendance grades. favorites. i have taken calculus and made a B, i study & go to class. questions dont follow lec
this teacher is the worst that i have had. she reads from the textbook and does the same examples in class. tests are different from what she 'teaches' asks stupid questions and is obsessed with attendance/behavior instead of teaching. waste of time and money. i am a hard working and intelligent student that likes math! :( Want a refund.
I'm great at math so this class isn't too hard, I always do the homework and have done just fine on the quizzes and tests. but if you struggle with math you should NOT take her, she uses your homework as examples straight from the book. She's never there on time and canceled class at least 4 or 5 times already this semester w/o notice.
I was very irritated that she cancelled class so often with absolutely no notice. The final exam is departmental and we were about 1 1/2 weeks behind the syllabus. Consider a different teacher if you aren't really good at math or able to teach yourself. If you need individual attention, get a different teacher!
I took her for Elem. Stats. but ended up dropping. She knows what she's talking about but she cancels class frequently due to illness. She cancelled 6 times before I dropped and all were on short notice. Only take her if you can teach the subject to yourself and/or have the time to got to a tutor on a regular basis.
Her class was kind of easy. She takes attendance everyday. Only thing that frustrated me was she was cancel class on such short notice. It you do the homework for practice you should pass.
I am not good with math, but I had to take stats for my major. This teacher would make everything seem so easy when going through the book examples. I did the homework, studied the notes and found that the tests weren't written like she had taught the material in class. If you are doing bad she doesn't help you, she just tells you to drop!
I don't know what everyone is talking about-her class was easy. She answers your questions after class if there isn't time in class. True, she does the examples from the book, but she also takes a few of the harder problems from the homework and works them out. The attendance quizzes are nice. If you do the assignments, you will definitely pass
She is the hardest teacher for the fact she does not teach. She practically reads straight from the book so you end up teaching yourself or going to the tutorials. She loves taking attendence every day. She ended up dropping the lowest test grade and substitute in your final grade if it helps you. She is in her mid 30's and HOT!!
First off, Shelley is a babe. She teaches completely from the book and uses test questions directly from it so do the homework! Also, go to class because she takes attendance on the daily but she also cancels class a lot so I guess it evens out. Bottom line, Shelley is hot, go to class, do the homework.
on a scale of one to ten shelley is HOTTTT! dayum! she goes from the book, so if you keep up with homework, her class is pretty straight-forward AND SHES HOT! hot! hot! hot!...HOT!
Shelley, Shelley, Shelley... Where do I start? Besides her questionable intrest in accessories, her class wasnt that bad. As for her appearance, I wouldnt go as far as saying that she is a "babe." But her class isnt hard, she will work with you so you don't fail, just show up to class and do some of the work.
This is the first math teacher that I have been able to understand everything by just watching her lectures. Attend class, bring your book and do the homework. You will pass. She does miss class a lot but doesn't hold you responsible for the material missed. Take her if you can! BTW, attendance will earn you extra points at the end of semester.
I think she is alright. Her class is easy. DO your homework cause it helps and if everyone does bad she will give you extra points based on homework. GO to class because quizes are 10% of your grade and most of them are attendance quizes. She teaches straight out of the book and cancels class alot. DOnt act up in class she hates it.
Very nice!!! She will answer questions all period for you. Make sure you go over your homework and you will be okay. her tests are harder than expected, though. quizzes are not a big deal to her at all. she is a very nice person, and is easy to ask questions. she is truly an awesome teacher.
She doesnt let you know when she cancels, shes more worried about being a dictator. She comes in with a bad attitude nearly every class and loves to embaress you. The material is not that bad, its a fairly easy class. She takes attendance everyday but loves to not show up! Never ever informs you..30 mins before class someone puts up a sign...
I usually like all my teachers, but I dont necessarily like her. She tells you to come to class or it will effect your grade.. but then she cancels class 30 minutes before class. She cancelled class last minute on a test day.. She doesn't seem like she cares to much bout students. She gets annoyed with questions and talking. Go to SI if u take her!
Shes not as bad as everyone is saying... The only complaint is that she canceled last minute on two test.. She said she was sick but I think she was just un-prepared. Apparently doesnt miss class enough for me to complain about it... Good lecturer but goes really slow. Good teacher overall.
This is coming from a person who is VERY good at math. In order to pass her class, you have to READ the book and do your homework every night. She asks true/false questions on the test that come from the book. She misses class a lot and only tells us right before. She cancelled a test once... She is OKAY, but this is not a blowoff class.
She's really not a bad professor. Statistics isn't a blowoff class, but she makes it as easy as she can. You HAVE to go to class and do assignments if you expect an A. She's very helpful 1 on 1 and obviously cares about her students. Be prepared to work; she can't just hand you your grade.
She is an okay professor at best. She taught us more about bean diagrams than she did about the actual formulas that should be used to solve the problems. She canceled class a lot thats the only good thing about her class. Other than that it is basically up to the student to teach themselves and learn the material by doing homework problems.
Amazing profesor, shelley hamilton makes math easier to understand. I was really worried going in because I am horrible at math, but it was like a lightbulb came on. you DO have to go to class, and DO your homework. not a blow off!!
Do NOT take her if you want to save yourself some humiliation. Everyday students are met with the same HORRIBLE attitude. And if you ask her a question that she thinks you should know, she makes sure to embarrass you. Basically you have to know what she is teaching. On tests she gives a lot of problems but not enough time!
Hamilton is a good professor. She answers homework questions at the beginning of class and will give thorough expplanations for anything you ask. Attendance is not mandatory but is necessary to do well on her tests, which were very hard for me. However, I did not really try that hard.
she was a pretty good teacher explained the material very thoroughly and made sure we understood. DONT come to class late though, she chewed off this kid that came late one day and called security to come get him. shes crazy but a good teacher...lol if that makes any sense
WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. SHE WAS INTERESTED IN TRICKERY WHEN IT CAME TO TESTS. THIS WAS AN ONLINE CLASS AND SHE WAS UNORGANIZED AND JUST READ FROM THE BOOK FOR HER LECTURES. I WISH I COULD HAVE A REFUND. SHE ACTED LIKE SHE DIDN'T CARE AND WAS MORE INTERESTED IN PASSING OUT HAND SCRIBBLED NOTES THAT DIDN'T HELP.
She's qualified to teach the subject, but doesn't show much interest. Rather, she likes to complain about how busy she is when she doesn't have many classes to teach. Power-hungry, loves to emphasize authority - went as far as to call security after a student refused to say "Yes, ma'am" to her question. NOT A LIE! Needless to say, time was wasted.
No nonsense, knows material, expects attendance and that you read the book and do homework.
It is CRUCIAL to do your homework, and attend class. I found her to be very helpful and clear in her teaching. Make sure to read the definitions/summaries at the end of the chapters cause that's where she gets some of her test questions.
DO NOT TAKE HER! not sure why people are saying she is easy to understand and a good teacher. Nothing we went over in class was on the test. After the first test half the class dropped. You must do your homework! If you ask a question she either makes you feel dumb or doesn't answer what you asked. Many people I know dropped her class!
Very helpful, goes over homework at beginning of class. Study definitions in boxes,DO the homework or else you won't do well on exams. I don't see why people say she's horrible, she just expects to listen and put away their phones. Rounds up when grading, so that's a plus. She will add 2 points to your final grade if you missed less than 3 classes.
I dont know why people say she's extremely hard. If you go to class and do the homework just once and do the test in supplemental packets, you can get an A on her test. She's really helpful. She always helped me in her office with anything I needed. You can understand her better than other teachers. You can study the day before and make an A.
She's a nice lady, but as a teacher she tries her best to explain the content. She's just been doing this so long that she explains it the way she understands, and not the way a bunch of people who've never heard of the stuff would. Her class is hard. I had to study my butt off and read and reread the textbook just to make a B in her class.
Do the hw and go to class! Can't emphasis this enough. Stats is hard enough but she explains it well and wants to make sure you understand. If she sees you care and put effort into it she will work with you to make sure you pass. If you don't care and and don't try your grade will reflect that.
Took this class online and thought the class ran smoothly and clearly. There were a lot of cry-babies in the class who started rallying at the last minute against the teacher for vague, unfair reasons, but she was very helpful and her lessons were thorough and easy to understand. It was an easy A. And this, from someone who failed algebra twice.
Statistics is tough and having a professor that was negative and in a bad mood frequently made it unnecessarily unbearable... frequent mood swings. She does give points away and is nice to some people some of the time.... but just too unpredictable.

Expects you to attend and apply yourself. Sometimes a little hard to understand, but spends plenty of class time answering questions... Almost too much. I went half the semester without needing my book and have maintained an A, but homework is recommended. Kind of boring if you already know the topic. She moves very slow, but overall an easy class.
Stats can be a bit confusing. Teacher is pretty clear though. Just do the reading and homework and you should be pretty well off....She is a bit rough on the aspect of not getting up during class.
This teacher SUCKS! I took this class online and she never responded to students emails for help. Students would blow up my inbox with questions that only the teacher could answer. Videos were boring and wordy. All around bad experience with this class!!!! Avoid taking her!!!
Took this class for summer(as I have taken most of my classes online)& was completely CONFUSED! Videos were useless & professor did not respond to ANY emails til the end of course! MOST of the students were absoluelty disgusted as more than 75% of class was angry at end of course with the grade recvd! AVOID the professor by ALL means!
I taking her class right now. It's an online statistics class, it was the biggest mistake in my life. If you need to take this class never take it online. Lecture class is better and more clear. I emailed her regarding a test and I still haven't heard from her. Everyone else enrolled in this online class hates it.
She is extremely helpful and even has recorded her lectures so you can get on blackboard and watch them over again if you still arent sure what is going on. She is more then happy to answer any and all questions you have over anything. definitely recommend taking her.
I took her lecture class and she was very clear and good at lecturing. She welcomed questions and would help you if you asked in class, not sure how she was at responding to you over email. Overall she's good at teaching when she's in front of you and she's easy to follow.
She is a pretty awful teacher when it comes to statistics. Went to other professors lectures instead. the TA was pretty bad and monotone too. Avoid taking her at all costs. My GPA is always above a 3.5 yet i got a C in this class. Luckily i got an A on my other 4.
Took her online course and it sucked! The videos are pretty clear and you feel like you understand and know the material UNTIL you take the quizzes and tests! Hardly enough time to finish the tests and some quizzes. Don't take this class.
She is a good teacher but her way of lecturing is not helpful....test are extremely hard...and she does not like questions@!!!
She is a great teacher and explains things thoroughly to make sure everyone understands. You do have to do all homework problems and you should do fine on the tests, the hardest for me was the T/F. Time yourself on the practice tests and don't look at the book. The 2nd test is harder, probability, but you are building on the same concepts.
Those that say they didn't do well did not apply themselves. She is extremely helpful and makes sure everyone understands. The material isn't particularly hard if you actually try to learn it and ask questions when you don't understand. I took the winter class and came out with an A, and I am no math person.
One of the best online classes I've ever taken. Organized, detailed, easy to follow. Take notes when watching the videos. Do practice tests. All exams online except final. Prof responds to emails quickly, sometimes has TA to help answer questions and hold on campus study groups. This class should be mandatory before going to a casino.
Bubbly personality, but thats where the good news stops. Takes forever to explain things, gets very defensive if you question things, and for gods sake...who in this age still uses an AOL e-mail address to communicate with, let alone use for school purposes?!!? and good luck getting any e-mail reply in less than a week. Final exam was a nightmare
I took her online statistics class and didn't have any problems. There's not much you can say about a teacher you never see. Only thing I can say about her is she doesn't respond to e-mails very quickly. She seems like a very nice lady.
This teacher does not play! She does not have time for childish people. She gets to the point. You MUST do the work taking her in class with the abililty to access her online teachings were very helpful as well as old test to use as a review! Do the WORK ask question and youll be ok
This class is AWFUL!! Took it online. The ones giving good reviews saying you have to do all the work to make a good grade... not true. I have done everything she said and more. She breaks down the material really well. However, despite all the material the quizzes and tests are NOTHING like the material she covered. Do NOT take this class!!!
If you do your work, attend class, and watch the supplemental videos if things still aren't clear, you'll make an A without much trouble. She can be a little condescending at times, but she's usually pretty clear with her teaching.
Pros: She really knows what she is talking about. She wants you to learn and, although this is a FAST paced class (especially if math is not your strong point), she will do what she needs to help you learn. Cons: She provides constant interruptions during exams, makes tons of mistakes-in the homework, not while teaching-and she can be feisty.
Took this undergrad class online (already have a masters degree) for a review. Course material appears to make sense when presented, the quizzes and exams do not reflect the material and are outrageous. Exam questions are not unreasonable--she just does not present the material that relates to the question. Very condescending and defensive.
She test straight out of the book and in detail. no point in going to her lecture because one, she talks too fast and include too many tedious, needless details in her explanations that they're very little explanations at all. Two, she's rude and hasty when teaching and explaining a problem and doesn't have much variety in ways of explaining.
She's a very good teacher. If you do what you're told in class, EMAIL QUESTIONS if you can't talk to her after class, and attend breakout session you'll do fine. I'm an English major and I suck major a** at Math and I'm managing an 89 in the class. If I can do it straight out of high school you can too.
I definitely recommend taking stats with Hamilton. I'm terrible at math, but she makes it easier to understand. The math isn't very heavy, either. It's not an easy class, but this is college, not many are. If you do your work and pay attention in class, you will do fine. I'm a first year freshman, and I'm managing just fine.
Very condescending and makes her teaching methods very childish. There are better ways to teach Stats and i found myself using the book more than the lectures to get a grasp on it. If you took stats before, find another professor. If you have no exp. in Stats, she'll help you out understand it but not enough to do well on the test.
She does her best to make the material as understandable as possible. She takes questions and answers them fully, and is very straightforward.Hamilton is great.
She's quite easy. Help you to pass the class. take this professor.
I had her for Statistics. She is a good teacher. For those who are not good at math, I'd recommend her for her clarity and how well she can explain some of the concepts. However, you will discover she is a bit rude. But that is secondary as far as my rating was concerned. The tests are fairly straightforward. She prepares you well for them.
She explains the materials clearly, tries to help you pass her class. Plus, she has videos of all the lessons on blackboard. Strongly recommend her.
Getting an A in this class all depends on how much time you can put into it. She puts up lecture videos and explains things at very slow rates for people who might be a little rusty in math. Homework is assigned but not required, although it is extremely helpful because it shows you what will basically be on the test. Breakout sessions required.
SMART LADY but doesn't take the BS from anybody. Course was a little hard, but not too easy. A lot of material is covered, so its a must to keep up. Offers a lot of chances to drop low quiz grades, get points for attendance. Just study and you should do fine.
Prof. Hamilton was very clear about her expectations and was very thorough at teaching statistics. I had my doubts but this class was interesting and tough, but her videos online are a life saver! Don't blow this class off whatever you do. She also wears a lot of tight fitting animal print clothing.=)
Great teacher. Be sure to go to class.. easy 100s. Her online videos are a life saver. Study hard and you'll do well. Final was departmental and wording was completely different than all other test. Hardest test I've ever taken. Overall, she's a great teacher.
Don't take this class ONLINE unless you already have a strong foundation in STATS. The exams don't cover the material given in the text or lectures. I took this class twice and failed it both times. I have 4 degrees (3 with honors) and have never experienced anything as discombobulated as this class was. Pure voodoo!
When asked why exam is different from lecture & textbook, the instructor replied: “While the questions may not be identical to practice questions you've already done, the methods and concepts that you used in the practice exercises may be used to answer or solve the exam questions." This is what your going to be dealing with in this class. Run!
As a non-math major I find Statistics very interesting & very relevant from a research aspect; I am admittedly not a fan of math. The online videos are very good and helpful, but only up to a certain point. The quizzes & tests require more time than given & do not accurately measure a student's comprehension of the material. I do not recommend.
MATH 1308 is supposed to be an easy course, but it ends up being quite challenging. Her teaching style is not very interesting, and the textbook is very wordy and easy to get bogged down in. The class size is too large to ask a lot of questions. Once she gets started on a topic she keeps going. She's not a bad lady or anything.
I hate Statistics. Hamilton is a good teacher, but she does not curve for such a hard course. The breakout sessions are helpful and the videos online are also very helpful. Not many professors offer that. Sometimes she is not clear. Several times I ended up getting points back because there was mistakes in the exam key. Overall, this class was okay
Loved this class. Took it online and had never taken stats before. Tests were easy if you did the homework and watched the videos. Never had to read the text except to clarify some things. Could have used more time on the final- really had to rush. I usually hate math, but loved this class!
she is really helpful. To get an A, break out sessions are a must. u dont have to go to lecture, watch all her videos, they are very clear! do practise hw problems from the book and if u have any questions, go ask her. she is very fair, if u can do the above mentioned, you shud be able to make an A. also do practise exams v. similar to actual Exams
She's a good one! If you don't go to class, all her lectures are online, but I would suggest the extra help of class. Go to breakouts, they are good for answering your questions. She gets pissed when people disrupt her, which I'm all about. I learned a lot from her class.
I took Stats with her, and she really dumbed it down, which is great because I hate math. However, she is very rude. GO TO BREAK OUT SESSIONS. The papers they give you are the exact same as the quizzes, which you take every Friday. I didn't like her, so I never talked to her and my semester was just fine.
Hamilton is a great professor, explains well during lectures, and answers any and all questions. Make sure you do the HW even though its not mandatory, because it really does help. she also has videos that are hand in hand w her lectures. Made an A in the class. Not hard at all.
SHE IS SUCH A NICE LADY!!! im not good at math, took this class and did well. exams just like practise exams, quizzes just like worksheets from BREAKOUT SESSIONS. Final bit hard... you can get an A if you watch all videos and do practise worksheets, and know concepts from "box" in books.
Took in wintermester, 2-week course. I'm terrible at math and I did nothing but watch the videos and came out with a B. You can make a C in this class with a little effort, and an A is definitely obtainable with hard work. 3 tests worth 20% each, Final Exam 35%, Quizzes 5%. WATCH THE VIDEOS and you will get by.
Statistics. Honestly you don't even have to go to her class. She posts videos on BB that teach the same material she teaches in class. Very easy, very helpful, will explain things until you get it. Quizzes- on Fridays on BB so make sure you have time off of work. Test- study notes and go over the videos she posts. A great teacher, really cares.
she is a great professor! she really knows the material so she teaches very well. watch online videos, and go to breakout sessions and read the book. can make an A if you study- not hard but not easy either. if you go talk to her she will give you tips on studying, flexible!
It was hard, confusing and book was old and ard to understand.
There supposed to be videos to help with the content. Nothing after the first chapter was ever loaded and my email asking was unanswered. The coach's for this course are also rude and not helpful. I asked about the videos and was told to look under the heading "video". He didn't bother to read or look to see that they weren't working. :(
She is a very hard professor, I have found her to be rude and unpleasant toward students. I recommend you do NOT take this class. Her lectures are dry, and boring.
Lectures are boring and all the lessons are online so attendance isn't mandatory. Her tests are not worded well enough so its tough to make an A.
She isn't a great teacher to learn from in lecture. She post all the lessons on BB which is soo much easier to learn from and understand. Never went to class, only for test days and I am doing really well in the class. If I would have known this beforehand, I would have taken the course online. I always studied the night before and did good on test
Hamiliton takes forever to explain an example & is sometimes confusing. I learned more from attending "breakout sessions" which helped out with quizzes and tests. She also has an attitude. Sometimes when students ask her questions, she just interrupts the student to explain what she has to say first. The final was tough, but it's doable.
I took this class online. It's not as bad as other reviews claim. You really do have to read the textbook though to understand. Quizzes and tests weren't too bad; they're not exactly like the text, but you can figure it out. The final was ridiculous. Long. Wordy. There just wasn't enough time. She is a nice lady.
The content for this class is very easy at least for me. She assigns homework but not to be turned in. The tests contain a fair amount of questions and she reviews a lot. She is very helpful. She allows questions to be asked on the homework during class and is also available after class. The class itself is boring bur ahe tries. Definitely take her
not a good choice , can make easy A on the 1test but it get harder and harder and the finals she don't give much time to finish the test.
Ultra clear, well paced lectures are indicative of her 17 years of teaching experience. That said, it's not impractical to skip lecture and self-teach the material either; provided you're confident in your abilities. Although lab hours are mandatory, they are usually very productive. There are plenty of safetynet assignments to save your grade too.
The online format was good. You cannot rely on your textbook or notes, though. The final exam is not open book nor open note, and you must go up to campus to take it. In order to succeed, you need to actively learn. This course takes self motivation. If you do not have it, take it in-person.
She was okay. Her lectures were super boring and it really didn't help. She does take attendance. Her tests are something the entire math department comes up with so the tests are pretty hard. You really have to study to get an A. You do have the chance to retake one test during the semester.
She has cancelled lecture numerous times due to personal reasons, and therefore, students have suffered. Only once has she gotten another statistics teacher to cover for her, and other than that, we just didn't get a lecture that week. Lecture once a week, lab twice a week. Pretty much felt like a self-taught class due to lack of effective teaching
This teacher is ridiculous. I took the stats class online. She said to email for a retake and I have emailed her 5 times trying to get her to approve a retake and no answer. I'm not the only one and I know many other students are just as frustrated as I am. You'll need to buy an online subscription and the homeworks can take hours to complete.
She changed the online group session times on multiple occasions. This made it difficult to attend due to the fact that I can't just change my work schedule every time she decided to change the group session time. There was an ongoing problem with the online math lab causing some homework assignments to take up to 6 hrs to complete.
Lectures are once a week, lab is twice. Lectures were boring and useless, as you can figure it all out on your own with MyMathLabs. However, she cancelled lecture several times, and rarely uploaded a lecture video covering what was missed. You can retake one test. I don't like math, but I made an A. Take practice quizzestests on Mylabs to study.
This class is total BS. Online assignments can take hours. Her lectures are just her reading from the book, so there's no point in going to class. The first portion of the class is easy, but it just gets worse. Mandatory lab hours are ridiculous and treat adults like toddlers. Would not take if I didn't have to.
Can't stand this class or this instructor. Taking online courses and she requires you to go to campus to take the tests. The students she has doing the videos during the week do not speeak english that well and it's hard to understand them over the computer. It was a complete waste of time. If u can teach urself, ur good.
-If you're adequate at teaching yourself using the MyLabsPlus program, then don't bother showing up to lecture. She does take attendance during lecture, but I wasn't penalized. Lab attendance is what counts. -Expect spending a lot of time on homework. -2 of your lowest hw & 1 quiz grade are dropped. 1 test retake. -Due dates pushed back often
It's about as hard as any regular math course, but she does a great job at explaining it. She has quizzes every now and then and they're short and easy but she wont tell you when they are, so you have to show up to class. I technically made a B but for some reason she gave me an A for my final grade so that was cool.
This was my second time taking trig. She is great at explaining everything in plain language and she skips extra info that might confuse you. The tests are short but can be difficult if you don't keep up with the homework. There are 4 tests and a few quizzes and that's your whole grade. Would take her again.
She gives 5 bonus points on every test if you do 2025 of problems that she assigns. there were 3 test and 56 quizzes which were dang easy. U don't even need to go to lecture even though she takes 25% of attendence grade from the lecture, but it only worth 1.75 of total grade. Tests are not hard and u just need to prepare for it over night.
Her lectures are a waste of time. You learn from My Labs Plus better than you learn from her. She's really there just for decoration; to try to convince you that you still need a teacher when you have the better, online portion. She's a very nice person, and emails back very quickly, but I didn't learn anything from her that I couldn't teach myself
What an odd class. lectures are once a week and its mandatory if you want points. Im not the best at stats but I studied hard and kept practicing and figured out the online system, which is what everything is graded on. Her lectures are out of the book, very bland. Shes a decent professor, will keep you updated and emails back quick!
No textbook, no professor, no attendance, mylabplus, moderately easy A.
Lectures drag because she rambles and goes past class time. You can learn material from hw alone. hw can be long but don't get behind and she constantly extends deadlines. Tests are hw/quiz ?s. She takes forever to input extra credit grades so be sure to check on her, takes a day to reply thru email, and lab assistants are more helpful than she is.
I dropped my PreCal clas in the 1st sem of my freshman year. I retook it in the 2nd sem and she just saved my life. Even though the lecture went beyond the time stamp, she was very clear, helpful, taught well, and was always prepared. The class is not hilarious and is sometimes boring, but if you are really into making an A, I prefer Mrs. Hamilton.
Love Professor Hamilton SO much. Education major and I took Math for future educators. Lots of write-ups, however if you show up to class and participate, you will have no problem writing them. Got an A because I didn't miss one class and tried my best on the papers. She makes you work for it, but I learned so much! I would take her again. :)
She is an okay teacher. She basically reads out of the textbook and goes over examples from there. She is helpful outside of class if you need her which i liked. The only reason I have an A as of right now is because before the exam she provides a review which is really helpful being that the tests are departmental(ew)!
She does have the potential to help student success, but she only shows few examples from the textbook in class, which did not really help. She is most available during office hour. The key to pass this class is doing homework on MLP and STUDY the example questions she gives out the day before exams (70% of final grade).
Hated this class. Lectures were okay, kind of confusing at times, she moves really fast. Do the online homework, study for the quizzes and tests. Attendance not mandatory, book is required. Solid 8/10 in terms of difficulty, stuff she reviewed would not be on tests. Would not recommend her for precal.
I've had this teacher twice and I think she's awesome. She clearly explains everything she goes over and is easily accessible outside of class if you have questions over anything. If you go to the lectures and do the homework then you'll easily pass this class.
Ms. Hamilton does everything to help you success in the precalc. She is willing to re-open overdue homeworks to improve your grade and is always there to help you in her office hour. You will spend a lot of time doing homeworks and independent study to do well in this rigorous course where only exams are graded most heavily.
Solid professor. She's a fast lecturer so try to keep up. You always have her office hours though. I suggest using the Math Clinic first before going to her office hours. She has an intimidating aura.
Ms. Hamilton teaches by going through few problems in each chapter each day. She is willing to reopen past due homeworks and tells you what you need to do to pass. You will spend a lot of time doing homework as independent study and practice a lot. Exams and finals are graded heavily, but her curve helped me passed this class.
Ms. Hamilton is one of the best professors of UTA. She is willing to help students during her office hours. She explains each example in the textbook clearly and carefully.
Professor Hamilton was easily one of the best professors I've had at UTA. She is very helpful and tries to make sure her students actually understand the material. She is available outside of class and generally a kind person. The curve at the end helps.
Took her for PreCal and while I don't really consider myself proficient in math I made an A. She does a lot of practice problems in class which personally helped a lot and she gives a bit of insider info on what the departmental tests will be over. Good professor.
