found her lectures clear and interesting, very helpful and informative!
sensitive to her students and is passionate about the discipline.

Very helpful.
is a total radical feminist, can't stand listening to here views for too long. Very passionate about what she teches, maybe a little too much. Doesn't explain assignments very well.
It is amazing how many statistics one person can memorize. I don't want to run into her at a dinner party. Very hard marker and assumes that people have taken other psyc courses before so she doesn't bother going over assignments.
Very caring knowledgable teacher. Brings a great feminist perspective to a male-oriented proffesion. Love her vast knowledge of subject. Tests sometimes cover obsolete info.

passionate about her discipline. she is highly educated and not afraid to show this fact. do not be intimidated by her knowledge. ask questions and she will answer them.

A caring knowledgable teacher, take any class you can with her
She is nice, but really boring.
shes a sweetheart. good teacher, take her if u can.
She is an incredible teacher, her classes are hard, but she treats her students as collegues and not as just students. She is also a great resource for subjects outside of school and she's not a radical feminist.
OHH, SHE IS THE SWEETEST THING. I RECOMMEND HER CLASS
great teacher. her tests are pretty straightforward (all multiple choices). the only thing i hate was that APA lab report. she's pretty strict on that.
I thought Shelley was great. She was fun, and the class was interactive. First she taught a concept, then shedemonstrated it. She was very caring and made me very comfortable about taking my very first psychology class.
Just the most amazing teacher. She has singlehandedly been the professor that has made me want to eventually become a professor myself. She has such a massive wealth of information and she is really great for talking to about personal issues.
Very knowledgeable - lectures are completely from what she knows, rather than piles of notes. Interesting examples to keep students interested. However, she is somewhat plain - not always engaging. Still, recommended.
Pretty fair prof on exams. But be prepared to backup your short answer with facts from class notes or text or both. STUDY HARD.
She was a great teacher. I loved her class, she has really great clear notes and excellent examples, altho she should be nominated for what not to wear, she is such a nice helpful person and a very fair marker, I recommend taking a psyc class with her!!
a humorous professor, she mentioned her chili pepper rating was low, so don't forget to give it boost.
Awesome prof. Felt bad that students didn't come to class often since it was summer semester because she really is a wonderful prof. Factual, fair, & makes you feel comfortable. Got me interested in Psych & made my first Psych course enjoyable. Warm smile

goes way out of her way for her students, very approachable, kind, and friendly, explains things well. Personality of someone I would want as a friend. Great Lady!!! Love her!!
I learned the most from this class than any other class in three years. She really knowes her stuff, tests were fairly easy and she was exceptionally nice and understanding.
oh my god she is the best prof ive ever had she is really nice thank you shelly
this woman is abominable. she presents a rather biast arguement and does not allow people to voice their own opinions.i found her very difficult to work with
women studies is meant to deconstruct dominant societies privilege. participation in this class may not always be comfortable, but it is necessary. thank you shelley for teaching us to question and challenge our privilege and recongize how privilege contributes to the oppression of "others".
Shelly is a good and interesting teacher. She has a sense of humour and is knowledgeable of her subject matter.(Stresses a bit on child psych but otherwise is very practical and marks fairly, and if you work for it, you can do well.Good intro to psychology.
Excellent teacher--very bright and deeply thoughtful. Class a bit dry, but if you know the material in text you'll do fine on test. I highly recommend her class, she's fair, tests are fair, research paper is fairly easy.
Nice prof. lectures can be very boring & straight from the text. Tests are not bad just read the text. The on-line text book resource site had many similar practice quizzes that were like her tests.
She is very nice but her class is DRY and you dont need to go, all questions of the test are from the book. I missed lots of classes and still did pretty good just by reading the text. It was an easy class.
I think classes were great I dont know what u guys are talking about. I did all my studying from lecture notes and online and did pretty well. I think she is the most intelligent teacher Ive had at Douglas and she really does know how to teach. I hope to have her again.
An amazing and understanding teacher.....she is always their for you...one of the best professor at Douglas College...take her if you have the chance...did I mention she was amazing:)
one of the best teachers at Douglas ... Very helpful and a nice teacher ...study the textbook and keep up with her notes and you'll do fine ... if u love kids u'll enjoy the course extremly ...
I can't say anything here because I know that she is really concerned about this site but I can't recommend any friends of mine to her class. Her class must be easy. But she is not professional. Not fair. I never take her class again.
This class and teacher changed how I thought about womens studies and the priviliges I have acquired. Through her background in Abuse against women she devoted a lot of time to the topic with an understanding not witnessed before. Her spirit makes her hot and her understanding makes the class amazing. TAKE HER!!
Second course with this prof. She is very laid back yet extremely knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge. Very pleasant, and there if you need her. Your success is based on your interest and effort. No final exam is a definate plus!
This class is not a breeze. If you are good at memorizing and studying for tests you will do well. I wish she had told us about the study guide and the CD rom that comes with the text book. mainly to use it and that it's helpful for studying. or perhaps give us a recomended homework work load. it's 1st yr after all!
Very friendly, laid back teacher. Standard lectures. Knows her stuff and clearly wants you to know it too. Good choice for anyone taking PSYC.
very understanding..if u have a valid excuse for missing an exam, she is very good about rescheduling without hesitation. she makes psyc hands on with the labs so students can understand subjects better.no final in this class and easy apa lab report. her notes arent very helpful but if you study the text and sg, you'll do fine on her mc exams.
She critically judges every student she teaches. You may be aware of it or not but she is ALWAYS watching you.
Good teacher. very easy course.
straight forward and very understanding. She's laid back and as long as you read the text you'll do great.
Quite frankly, I would rather eat raw sewage than to have to take another course with Professor Moore. I'm sure she meant well, but really, I found her highly unprofessional. She is very radical in her views, while I respect this, she was very unreceptive to any point of view but her own. Avoid, if you care about yout GPA.

Very nice and underestanding, totally recommend for first year psych!
Such an awesome teacher, she changed my life!
great teacher
Very nice prof, her class is very relaxing :) and her exams are easy, because is base on the textbook. Therefore, READ the textbook before doing her exams.
F-ing best teacher ever. Inspirational in a quiet way...
All tests are multiple choice, and tons of multiple choice questions are taken right from the study guide, so USE IT!! Two easy assignments, four tests. You probably don't have to go to class to get a good mark, but go anyway because she's an awesome, entertaining and funny lecturer. Disappointed she's not teaching the 1200 class.
not sure the class number (first one). shes nice, but you dont learn anything from her in class, and her notes are pointless. just read the text book and do the online quizes. i didnt even bother opening the study giude and i got a B+. her tests are easy, all multiple choice and NO final. you dont need to show up, but the labs are pretty fun.
great teacher. Really wants her students to learn the material and very helpful when you have questions. She is very passionate about what she does and she's really nice. Her tests are multiple choice from the book or study guide. would take a course with her again
Useless lectures. Tests are straight from the text, but u got to read it very carefully. Some questions taken straight from the study guide. No final exams. I've managed to get a mark around B+ to A-, but out of nowhere, she gave me a B. She sucks, you don't learn much, test are irrelevant with lectures. Take other profs if you have a choice
Most useless useless teacher. She is super nice but she doesn't offer much to the class. Her notes are straight power point and old-fashioned videos. By far the most BORING classes I have ever been to. Easy 'A' though.
She`s a good person. Good teacher. Nice and all that. Just pay attention in class and u`ll be good for the exams. Exams are mc. Every 2 weeks u have an exam from 2 chapters. Recommended if psych is not ur major.
she is a good professor, her test are not too hard if you study you dont need to worry. she is an easy marker for the project and her test are all mutiples choices, no midterm no final so cool
Best teacher I've had at Douglas so far!Such a nice lady! Makes 3 hour lecture interesting, very fair marker. Wish I studied more though. Cramming will get you a B or B-. If you study beforehand you can get an A easily. Multi choice+ 1 term paper(your choice of topic)
Shelley is a wonderful prof. She has this way of keeping ones attention. Her quizzes are all multiple choice and is closely related to the Study Guide. The only downside to her was that she doesn't seem to demand much from students. So it's very easy to slack off, put off studying, and even skip a few classes.
She's very helpful, friendly, and keeps your interest. No midterm or final. Tests are non-accumulative, and all multiple choice. You have multiple options for the term paper, which are all fairly easy topics.
I've taken 2 classes with Shelley. She is a wonderful prof. Her lectures are to the point. Her exams are relatively easy. For essay questions, she isn't a hard marker at all. Would take more classes with Shelley.
highly recommended. She is a great teacher, loves what she does, and tries to find ways to keep the class interested the whole time. She plays many videos during the semester which was one of the reasons I wanted to attend each class though attendance was optional!1 essay paper, shez easy on it,25%,I wrote it the night before it was due,and got a B+
Extremely helpful. Great class, great teacher. One video, 30 mins long, for every wk of class! attendance is optional, but more than 80% of students show up for class, that's how interesting her classes are. did the essay the night before it was due, got B+! Dont lie to her+dont cheat > ull get a B.
Awesome prof, I highly recommend taking a course with her, probably one of my favourite profs...and I don't have many.
I got a B+. You need to memorize whole text book materials and do practice q's from the study guide. I guarantee you'll get higher than B. There's no final exam and non-accumulative. Prof is awesome and always willing to help you if you have any q's.
Very Helpful, knows the material, explains things very clearly, she makes tests just for that specific class awesome teacher
Shelly is pretty fair, YOU MUST READ TEXT; all her notes are mainly video clips and a few word sentences, she is a fair maker and all tests are written, no paper but the final was multi choice
She's very helpful, friendly, and keeps your interest. Final and quizes multiple choice. You have multiple options for the term paper, which are all fairly easy topics. Must read text book, most of the test questions are not in her lectures. Shelley is a wonderful prof and is invested in her students.
I would highly recommend Shelly Moore. Her class was a pleasure to attend.
Dr. Moore is the most BRILLIANT prof I have ever had. She is extremely intelligent and WITTY, super helpful with answering questions. Her tests are fairly challenging, however, if you attend all of her lectures and read the chapters you will do very well. I am taking another class of hers just because she is awesome!
Wonderful prof. Really clear on everything you need to know. This is what all profs should be like. Tests are straight forward and if you need help shes more than approachable. No critiques. Would take every class with her. :)
A great teacher. Powerpoint slides make up 90% of classes, and it's a good idea to copy them. There are some labs, but they didn't count for marks when I was in her class. One paper, a bunch of quizzes which are all multiple choice, and a library assignment. Even if you miss class (or labs) you can land a B- or B average no problem.
Shelley is nice and with a little studying, you can get an A, easy. Some of the lectures dragged on for a bit but the labs were fun. No final at the end either - Psych 1100
Overall, a very easy teacher. Tests were primarily multiple choice. No final. One major paper. Only complaint is that the marking for this paper is unclear. It's sort of like "Pick a psychology topic to write about and write me a paper." No real direction was given. Otherwise, no problems with Shelley.
Good Professor, easy to understand, lectures sometimes a bit boring. Overall a nice person. Test are multiple choice, one assignment to do for the term, that's it.
Dr. Moore is one of the best professors I've had!! Super clear with her instructions. I would definitely take this class with her again!!
One of the nicest teachers ever! Soft spoken and super approachable. Lectures are interesting and clear. Read the textbook to prep for the tests. Tests are all multiple choice, one assignment and she is a super easy marker. Attendance is not mandatory but going to her class is enjoyable so students would show up. She also ends class 20 mins early!
She's a funny professor, and she makes her lectures very clear and she focuses on helping you memorize for the exams.
Shelley was an amazing prof. She kept her lectures interesting and related them to pictures to help you remember things for the test. We had 3 tests, 2 were MC and the last one was written. She was such an easy going prof, I will definitely take class with her again.
Amazing teacher!no final exam . make sure you pay attention to inclass explanations it really helps!!
Shelley is an absolutely fabulous instructor! She genuinely cares for students & treats everyone w/ respect. Tests are wicked easy if you make the effort to study lecture notes & chapters from the text; she also gives study guides for each test. 3 tests, short written paper (3-4 pgs) & a library assignment. I definitely recommend her! Easy A.
I really enjoyed her lectures, I felt she really wanted you to do well in her class and really wanted to help you know the material. if you do the work and come to class you should be fine!
Shelley is an amazing teacher and person. Her lectures are very helpful and she gives memory aids to help you remember things. She only gives you 3 exams and 1 paper, which are all very fair. She tries to help you out as much as she can, you should be able to get an A in her class no problem. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best profs Ive had at Douglas. She creates an environment where respect is mutual and learning is the #1 priority. Straight forward, clear criteria, no surprises, works very hard to make learning relevant to her students. She was very accommodating to me when I couldn't participate in a lab. Would take many more courses with her!
Great prof! Always made lectures interesting and had great memory aids to help prepare for tests. Would highly recommend her!!
Awesome prof - simple, reasonable and sets students up for success. Short essay required (only 3 sources max) and topics were given. 3 non-cumulative exams - all M/C and only the first exam had short answers and she provides the questions in advance so students can prepare. Read text, show up for class easy B (study a little more easy A)
I would definitely recommend Shelley! It isn't difficult to do well in her class, however you must read the text in order to do well on her tests as most of her questions are based off the text book. Pay attention to details on the first two assignments and you'll do great. Overall she's a great lecturer and makes concepts easy to understand.
It was obvious Shelley put a great deal of work into planning her lectures, which were well structured and cohesive with the textbook material. There were three exams throughout the term, and one group project. Overall I felt the class was informative and fun!
wonderful teacher, puts pride in her class and what she talks about. teachers like her make us students succeed in education.
such a good teacher! Actually made psych easy and enjoyable, and always seemed to care for the interests of her students. 110% recommend her.
Dr. Moore was a fantastic professor. Highly recommended. Her lectures were interesting and well planned. Read the textbook and show up for class.
Although her lectures were sometimes quite heavy, it was very apparent that Shelley loves the material and loves teaching it. She would bring in toys and use examples that really helped improve your understanding. She had 3 tests worth 80% of the total mark, but she was very clear about what to expect and gave detailed guides - they were very easy.
Took Aging and Development with her and she is amazing. Her lectures are pretty heavy and she clearly cares about the subject area. 2 midterms 40% each, 1 final 10% (written), and 1 paper 10% (you can choose to do it individually or in a group). The exams are more than fair just read over the text and you'll be fine. Easy A and interesting class
Shelley is a great instructor for the 1st year student. Her lectures are clear and she goes slow. FYI her slides are not on blackboard and her lectures don't cover all textbook material, so you do have to read the textbook. Her tests are not too difficult and she really wants you to get an A.
A caring and knowledgeable professor who structures courses very well. This isn't her specific area of teaching but she still taught us so our course didn't get cancelled. This showed her caring attitude and once you begin class with her, this attitude only becomes more clear. Lots of resources given to us and clear instructions for assignments.
Dr. Moore appears to be very passionate, but is quite disorganized in class. Her lectures can be very boring, dry, and rambles on. If you can self- teach you will be fine. She provides study guides of things that will be on the test, but do not rely on her lectures or in-class presentation. You will need to know from the textbook.
She is one of the great professor of my life. she is caring and inspirational. I recommend everyone to take her class. Her classes are really interesting with power-points and labs.
Shelley was a wonderful prof. She really made sure her students would do well and provided resources when needed like giving us study guides for tests. Make sure you do your readings as most of her test is based on the textbook. I did feel her lectures to be quite boring, but just show up and do readings and you will definitely succeed!
Really kind and caring. Super straight forward material. Cannot recommend enough.
Shelley's class this semester was a bit of a bore. She does not provide the slides so you must show up to class and take notes. However, this semester was so messed up so she did provide slides on Blackboard. The material is interesting but her delivery is lacking. Easy A if you read the text/class material (tests are worth 30-40%!!!).
Professor Moore definitely knows her material and she is engaged in the learning of her students. Her lectures are fun to follow along and she gives out great memory aids that will really help you learn for the exam. Come to class and learn well and it's a great course to take for credit!
Psyc 3322 with Dr. Moore was excellent. Her lectures are well prepared and interesting. Lectures compliment the textbook readings. She is well organized and plans her course schedules with the students best interest in mind. 3 tests, 1 assignment, 1 essay paper. Great prof.
one of the best profs i have ever met, she really cares about teaching to her students. she has the best lectures, and really cared about her students doing good. she had an outline for every test that had key points that she would be testing on and it. really helped guide what you needed to focus on! would take her again if possible.
Shelley seems really nice, but the way her Blackboard class is set up hurts my head. It is so unorganized and everything is all over the place. Besides that, the work load isn't bad at all. You're just required to do a couple of activities through Launchpad every week. She is a tough marker though on assignments, and the tests were a little hard
Whoever says this women is unorganized is completely wrong. She uses blackboard and Launchpad, with lots of updates and reminders. Her exams are all straight forward. The most kind and caring professor I have ever had. Study and you will get an A. I have had her in class and online - she is amazing. Do not doubt your choice. Just read and review!
There's a lot of content on the course page, but they're all there for a reason. The course I took was fully asynchronous, and it can get a little hard to stay disciplined. Just read the textbook, make good notes, and stay disciplined. Then it'll be smooth sailing! She's an easy marker too! Got 100% on all my assignments.
Dr. Moore is the most caring prof I have ever had. She gives such good feedback and really goes in depth. Our class was completely online and she was kind enough to give us reminders and heads up knowing that online classes can sometimes be difficult to navigate and remember due dates. A real sweet person! 10/10 would take her class again.
Shelley is an amazing professor! Even in an online class she gives great feedback, gives email reminders of due dates, and is always there to answer questions. Lectures are engaging and the tests are never anything you've never seen before - just read the book and make sure you know bolded terms well and you'll do just fine.
Really interesting course, easy to do well if you keep up with the readings. 4 non cumulative midterms and no final, just weekly things and a little writing assignment about citing. One of my fav courses this semester. Shelley cares so much and is so accomodating!! Id rec this course to anyone looking for a GPA booster :) loved it, shes a queen!
Shelly is a great prof! Her tests are difficult but if you follow the test outlines and do the reading you will do fine. make sure that you bring a coffee to class! But overall she is the kindest, most understanding prof I have had at Douglas. Also there is no final
OMG literally the easiest class ever. her study guides tell you exactly whats on the test. we had 3 tests, 1 library assignment ( literally tells you what to do step by step), and a summary assignment which was just answering SIMPLE questions based off a study, and 3 mc tests. TAKE IT IF youre looking for an easy pass.
Shelley provided incredibly thorough instructions + rubric for the research paper. She provides study topics for tests. Read the text -- The test Q's require application of the material. Put in the work and it will be an easy A bc she sets you up for success. However, I did find her lecture style to be boring.
Shelley is a phenomenal teacher; she cares about her students and her content. She gives very clear grading and test criteria with study guides that contain anything needed for the tests. Study the textbook and lectures and you will surely succeed in this course! I would take her for every course if I could!
I liked the class, except for the labs felt like a waste of time (not for marks or participation, also didn't really teach much there). I didn't like that the make up exam was scheduled during class time? Not fair to the students who did make it to the tests and took away from what could have been lecture time.
I feel no words can encapsulate how wonderful of a human Shelley Moore is. She is kind, considerate, and respectful. She is the first prof where when she said the land acknowledgement I could tell she meant it and took respecting others seriously and genuinely. She is inclusive and her tests are a breeze (as long as you paid attention in class).
Extremely sweet and considerate professor. Clear about her grading criteria and always accessible. The only downside is that she doesn't give lecture slides, so be prepared to take notes in class. No trick questions, only MCQs in exams and 1 simple research paper. Reading chapter summaries from the textbook is enough to get a solid grade.
Shelley is an angel sent down to earth from heaven above she is so sweet and really cares about her students and their success. I took her class on a whim and I'm so glad I did because her lectures truly are inspirational and make you think hard about the older adult population. Easy paper and easy exams, I'd take her again in a heartbeat!
Lovely lady. Would take again :)
Shelley is a great professor. Tests were all multiple choice and study guides are given for each one! She is super caring and really encourages questions. I would say reading the textbook is somewhat necessary as the lectures don't cover everything you need to know. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this class and would definitely recommend her!
Dr. Moore is the best professor I have had throughout college. You can easily get an A in this class. She's so kind and very clear on expectations. Don't walk- run to take a course with her!
Shelley is honestly the best first-year psychology professor ever! She is very caring of all her students and wants everyone to succeed. Her lectures can be very long, and she is soft-spoken but knowledgeable. The midterms are mainly textbook-based, so be ready for that. Overall, she is excellent, and I'm happy I took her!
Shelly is an absolute gem! I would take her any day and I wish she could be my prof for everything. I cannot say enough good things. Gives a clear study guide for tests (textbook heavy) which is all multiple choice, and she explains things in a way that are easy to understand.. love love love her!
Such a wise, well humored and intelligent woman. I'm not pursuing psych anymore, but I'm so glad I got the experience of being taught by her. She speaks very clearly, her lectures are easy to understand and at least at this level, the assignments and tests are super easy as long as you've read the assigned chapters and paid attention during class.
