Very funny, -best course because of her!
awesome stories
Is quite interested in what she is teaching. She is not out to trick us!
Makes class interesting; cares about learning, not grades.
FUN, CLEAR, GOOD EXAMS
Fantastic prof. Interesting, funny, energetic, loves what she does.

Very good teacher. Interested in what she is teaching that's why lectures are so
Great Prof with excellent intentions!
Makes the course very interesting
This is one of my favourite courses, she makes the information fun and easy.
gives new, modern, funny looks on old (could be) boring stuff! i love this class
Great class, great prof
I Love U Dr. Rabinovitch. This is by far THE best course i've ever taken.
The best teacher i have ever met in my life, great course and great prof.
amazing prof, knows how to keep us awake
VERY GOOD!!!
Great teacher, great class
Great Prof. was thinking about changing majors
great class and prof!
Funny, interesting and nice. Should get p/t prof of the year
AMAZING! Knows all there is to know about witchcraft and is an engaging and fascinating lecturer, if you can call her classes lectures!
GREAT CLASS
Awesome teacher, so interesting
Why are all of the best professors only part-time? Great prof, great class. She is funny, knowledgeable and empathetic.
so hot
I went to every class....and i was not even in it! Beleive me, its THAT good!
Very knoledgeable and interesting. Her class is the highlight of my week.

extremely knowledgeable and engaging. made classes interesting. would definitely recommend the course, and dr. rabinovitch as an excellent professor!
boooring
SHOW UP ON TIME!
awesome prof.!
I didn't care for her teaching methods - when she finally decided to show up for class, she tried her hand at humour, which is fine, but it gets old after a few hours. Too fake-chummy with the class (except during exams). Quite an easy course, though.
Great course, great prof - too bad so many of the students weren't serious about the subject. You wouldn't find people making fun of Jews in a class on Judaism - why is this any different? Great course if you can put up with the influx of airheads.

First class today and I can already tell it's going to be a blast!
Good Prof. Easy Course. Too bad so many morons take the course.
Awesome professor.
Wonderfully clear and very knowledgable about the subject - ask her anything!
Awesome class, but full of idiots who know nothing. She is hilarious, for those of you who think not I guess you don't know what's funny.
WOO! i LOVE this class! she's funny and really knows her stuff. I will be wicked at Trival Pursuit after this class. Best prof all year, really approachable and when "Auntie Shelley" starts telling a story, relax and get ready to laugh. Study up though, she wants you to know your stuff too.
Absolutely fantastic class. Sitting through her lectures are a breeze - because she makes them so interesting! Easy multiple choice midterm and exam. Gave us bonus marks for dressing up at Halloween. This class is in high demand - but definitely try to get in!
She's THE BEST. Her class has got to be the most fun on campus.

mildly entertaining. Don't hve to do any readings just go to class. Multiple choice rules.
Wow... First class and I'm already super impressed, she's hilarious
Interesting and VERY easy class! So far, the mid-term was a breaze. Sometimes though, she does get off topic and half way through her stories you think "what the hell is she talking about??" Good class otherwise!
2 thumbs up! Definitely a great course with an even greater prof... no way u can fall asleep in her class!
best calss i ever took. interseting, clear, facinationg, gret text and reading choices. easy tests.
Awesome class along with an awesome professor!
Easy class.
I love this class, we do take an awful lot of notes, but we get to watch movies aswell. She is very helpful and is a lot of fun!
An awesome course; her lectures flow smoothly, so its easy to pay attention and take notes. She also mixes personal anecdotes with the material making the course even more interesting and relaxed. No assingments, just a midterm and final; both are multiple choice and she always mentions during the lectures what exactly you need to know.
don't know what all the hype is about, I was bored senseless and sick of the notes, disappointing course material and a complete drag going to lectures.
Great course, really interesting. Lots of discussion (take it if you like to talk). Easy readings, mostly essays and an essay take-home. It was good.
Great Class. Movies + Guest Speakers. Reading was simple, not much reading in a week. 2 mid'term essays + 1 final take home essay. Automatic 10%. Good if you need an easy elective.
This class was such a joke. All everyone did was talk the whole class. You don't even need to go, considering your mark is based on 3 essays. You also don't need the textbook, because the essays have nothing to do with the text. Boring and ridiculously easy class.
Nice person but her lectures are hard to follow. She is all over the place and doesn't have any visual notes. You have to guess what is important and that is really hard when she goes off on tangents every 5 seconds from someone's question. Very frustrating.

I have her for both Fem and witchcraft. I love this prof! excellent course material. Great sense of humour! Keeps the class interested
Overrated class. Very boring and this woman has no concept of how to teach a course.
Awesome teacher! Great sense of humour, which helps in the learning process.
i DUNNO ABOUT THIS ONE. YOU MUST ATTEND ALL LECTURES AND FILMS AND READ THE MATERIAL TO DO WELL. MULTIPLE CHOICE EXAMS BUT TRICKY. I JUST FIND THE CLASS A BIT ONE SIDED ON THE SUBJECT OF PAGANISM CAUSE SHE IS ONE, SHE MAKES IT SOUND NORMAL, QUITE STRANGE TO ME BUT OVERALL SHE'S COOL
The most interesting class Ive ever taken. Very easy and lectures are really entertaining!
This prof turned women's studies into a sewing circle. She strives to identify with every marginalized group in society. All to often, the class takes over the discussion, and pointless personal anecdotes are offered. This may as well be Armchair Pyschology 1100. But she must be right, 'cause she was a member of the media for so long.
Complete waste of time, she didn't even seem to want to show up. I swear only two classes out of the entire semester did she show up on time - the rest were often 10-15 minutes late. Boring material, sluggish lectures, sorry attempts to be funny that often got sidetracked, etc. Easy class but far from enjoyable or worthwhile.
This was the worst class I could have imagined. She was never prepared for class. We learned NOTHING. She used movies instead of teaching anything herself. She tells the class far too much about her personal life and seems to make her lectures up as she goes along. Her good ideas are lost in poor orgaization and bad lectures.
Very nice woman. She does not take herself too seriously and she laughs alot which makes class fun. She thinks outside the box so it is interesting just to hear her ideas during lectures. She has a wacky anecdote or personal experience for every topic so it is really entertaining.
I have no complaints for Professor Rabinovitch. I enjoy her sense of humour, but for students who don't have one it could be frustrating I guess... I found that her way of teaching allowed me to retain more material than any other class I've taken in University.
Awesome class. This prof is a great lecturer; incorporates personal experience, hilarious She's a great story-teller. Keeps your attention for the full lecture. Multi choice mid-term and final are easy, just know your stuff. I didn't ever want to miss one of her lectures. Neomancy book = waste of money! Most popular course on campfor a reason!
i loved this class.. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK, just take it out of the library for the final. class attendance is really not mandatory, but interesting. she is a great professor.
Enjoyable class, i took it during the summer and it was pretty good for a summer class.
she is lazy and often misses class, late with grades, shows lots of movies.
Not a great class, too much foul language used that is not necessary. Easy prof, be there take notes, WATCH THE VIDEOS!! Most exam questions are from the videos.
Great course. Prof Rab is a great professor because she is down to earth and very easy to listen to. Having a prof who believes in what they are teaching inspires you to learn as much as you can. The size of the class should speak for itself.
PART-TIME PROF OF THE YEAR!!!!
Great prof. Just go to class and you'll do well. Her lectures are interesting and well-rounded. Such a great class -- don't miss it!
GREAT teacher. join the class, you'll see!
completely awesome class! she is the most entertaining prof I've had! Her lectures are informative, and she's a riot. It doesn't feel like class.
She is such a great lecturer! She is funny and really enjoys talking about her ideas. I disagree with the negative reviews, she isn't lazy, she gets there and gets the job done effectively. She lectures to the average age group she is teaching too, she understands it can be boring and works with that. I think she creates the ideal course for 400.
WITCHCRAFT Great prof. She explains things really well, and can make boring subject matter more interesting. She has relevant stories. I did not enjoy the guest lectures by Prof. Guille-something. She didnt speak loud enough for us to hear. (marion auditorium)
GREAT PROF! there is a reason why her class is the most popular on campus! she's knows her material well and doesn't hesitate to offer guidance to students and answer tough questions. I disagree with the negative comments- she's just trying to make otherwise dull material interesting to appeal to our age group...and it WORKS!
Shelley Rabinovitch seems like the kind of person I would like to be friends with. However, there is a difference between a good professor and a good teacher. Dr. Rabinovitch is a good professor. I sincerely hope that the bad period she is going through in her life gets better very soon. She deserves better, and so do her students.
she was fantastic
easy class, but towards the end of the term it feels as if she's cramming alot of info into each lecture.
Teaches to her audience, knows/understands her audience. Good luck Trying to get into her class!
Interesting class, and very humorous
Rabinovitch rocks!
I have had this prof 4 times and each time I get the exact same material. She doesn't cater to the class, she just manipulates it to fit the title. She's a brilliant woman and very nice but as far as being a good prof.. She lacks. I loved her the first time but the movies and lectures became repetitive and boring.
Awesome teacher! Really good summer class.
Wonderful woman and professor. She was interesting, and so was the course.
She's so much fun to listen to
By far the EASIEST course I have ever taken. The class is a little interesting (especially the Nazi videos) but attendance is not mandatory. Her exams are 75% the same and she ask's the same Q's year after year. If you want an A+, take this class. If you cant get an A, you've failed at being a human.
I took intro to female studies with this proff and it was the easiest class ever. I attended 30% of the classes, didnt buy the textbook and still ended up with a B. There were no midterms or finals just an ad critique essay, and a final take home paper. Both were easy and required no readings or notes to be taken. The proff is really nice too!!
Best prof ever!! Her class was so interesting, and her teaching style was really engaging and fun for the students. As long as you listen/take notes you'll ace the 2 tests.
The midterm was surprisingly difficult, however the final was fair. The guest speaker was horrible and very difficult to understand. Complete lack of clarity. Rabinovitch is quite unprofessional in her teaching. I was quite put off by this.
The class was interesting and easy. Her story about her near death experience changed my outlook on life. I would suggest taking the class for this lecture alone.
Very funny teacher, her classes was always extremely entertaining. Class was easy, as long as you attend it and read the material she tells you to read. I would take her class again!
Awesome professor. Perfect lecturer. Very entertaining, interesting, and informative class.
I thought she was very disorganized on the rare occasions when she taught a lecture and did not rely on a film. The text and reader were almost entirely useless, except for maybe two questions on the take-home exam. Assignments had little to do with lectures or readings. The class was a waste of my time.
It was decent. She is entertaining, but I found her lack of explanations for assignments disconcerting. Also, I thought she swore too much.
My lowest mark this semester (A-). Took it thinking it will be easy, and it wasn't difficult, I was just not interested (At ALL) in the material. Waste of my time, money and energy. I would recommend taking something more interesting
A fantastic first year women's studies prof. Excellent lectures.
I had no idea that this class would be useless. I did not learn anything except we should all view things from a femine point of view thats it thats all. Prof is nice, loves to swear, kind of nutty. She "claims" to understand other cultures and religions. Not true. Movies are depressing. one midterm 40,and final 60. With no effort, B, study hard A.
Nice in person, rude in e-mails. A waist of time. Pointless class. You will not learn anything.
Really enjoy Rabinovitch as a professor. She may not be the most challenging but I looked forward to going to each class. it was just fun and she has a great character, sarcastic and ramble-y. Never a dull moment, never stale, never monotone. Not difficult, not complaining!
veryy easy class ! im suprised at the reviews, Rabinovitch is a very entertaining teacher. we watch many movies and videos. we never used the textbook, complete waste of money! come to class (many ppl tend not to & i couldn't imagine why)& give effort to the only 2 assignments and you will get an A garunteed. ps- TA's mark everything
extremely rude when replying to emails. class is ridiculously boring.. if you wanna learn about lies then go ahead.. she says she class is really easy on the first but... thats a lie. everything she says is a lie and shes a terrible prof.. extremly boring. do yourself a favour and never take witchcraft.
She is an incredibly engaging speaker so her lectures are always fascinating. Her exams are very straightforward and are entirely multiple choice. Her class was my favourite.
Very easy class (Witchcraft) and quite interesting. Great lecturer, not boring, speaks loudly. VERY chill, laid back, isn't very "professorish" but is interesting. Cool stories. If you want an easy A but to also be interested in the class, then take Witchcraft. Also very outspoken, loves to swear which tends to bring some laughs.
I am in her Witchcraft class and it is by far my favourite course I have ever taken. She is a great teacher and the 3 hours absolutely flies by! She is a very engaging speaker and really makes things interesting!
Terrible teacher. You will fall asleep in her class. Have her for first year WS and is a huge waste of time. Wishing to have had Sethna for this class. Never will I take her class again. Very unclear, scattered and annoying to listen to and look at. Exams are multiple choice and a lot of questions are a crap shoot.
Worst prof I have ever had. Does not seem to care for well-being of students in the slightest. Will never take a class by her again.
She is the best professor I had during first year university, hands down. She is extremely knowledgeable and her lectures are always interesting. Exams are decent - just make sure you do the readings and attend the lectures. I would without a doubt take another class of hers in future years.
Super easy class, got a really good grade. However the prof is frustrating to listen to. I'm a third year history student and tons of her historical facts are way off, or she combines certain events with others that happened 70 years in the past. If you're interested in something learned in her class, do your own research to find out the truth!
One word to describe this prof: Epic. I was in her witchcraft class and it was hands down best class I've had. She is hilarious and so well informed. She provides great perspective on the subject matter, and it a perfectly fair marker!
This was for her witchcraft course. She is an excellent teacher, very personable, and makes you really interested in the topic. Also, multipule choice exam or short answer. You get to choose!
Extremely knowledgable prof; very animated teaching style; interesting material; clear expectations; marks based on 1 mid-term and 1 final- all multiple choice- each multiple choice question being worth 1% of your final grade; textbook utilized greatly; no notes posted on web; cool movies shown; massive class size
I had her for World Religions. If she teaches the course again avoid it like the plague. She doesn't lecture, you watch an hour long movie every second class, followed by class presentations. If you want to learn something avoid class and read the textbook. If you want an easy A without learning anything however, this may be the class for you.
Waste of money, waste of time. often saw her napping in her car on Laurier AVE, ALWAYS late for class (hmm). Taught stereotypes and lies. Stripped abuse experiences of any sort of individuality. Exam hassporadic questions never covered. Was extremely painful to listen to her for 3 hours. She teaches her opinions and not facts. Dangerous learning.
Doesn't allow electronics in class, so you'll be spending every waking moment scrawling down notes because any given side note can be tested on. This is partly because she tries to entertain, but then tests you on the "entertainment". Very little of the core material is taught. Her movies are abominations, and are also tested on. Very unhelpful
The best and most useful part of this course was the textbook. Lectures were a jumble of disorganized "key terms", note-taking is almost impossible, and there was zero feedback/expectations for assignments. Don't take this course.
Very informative course, but one that demands the student be an active listener and note-taker. Skipping is absolutely not a good idea, because she covers a lot every class and anything might be on the tests. She's very engaging, enthusiastic, and thought-provoking. Highly recommended course.
Very interesting. No need to read material! If you go to every class you are guaranteed an A! She presents some shocking information for dramatic effect but a lot of what she has to say is very important to learn especially for young women.
This was by far the worst class I have had in my 3 years at Ottawa U. The teacher missed over 2/3rds of the classes and when she was in class she would present video after video. I would avoid this class and this teacher.
Avoid this class. Much rambling with random references to the odd key word. Impossible to identify possible course material from continuous ramblings. I stopped attending the class entirely and read the textbook and got a good grade - I couldn't bear the lectures.
Awesome prof. Made things interesting, knows her stuff. Nice enough, little strict on electronics but she's not the only one. Her class was the only one I didn't skip, it was too interesting.
Awesome prof, good class!
Great prof, interesting lectures, provides great examples and life-experiences to help illustrate some of the material. 3 multiple-choice exmas for this class. DO NOT get caught talking in her class, or caught with any electronics!! She's all about respecting others!
BADLY organized. No one knew how they were doing in the class until the end of November when the midterm marks were finally available, partly because the midterm was set so late - beginning of November.
Do not take any course with this professor if you care about your education. Doesn't know how to organize a course and didn't even give students any marks before the deadline to drop a course. Disgraceful and unfair to all students.
awesome class. awesome prof. as long as you don't miss class and take extensive notes, you're good to go and guaranteed a true eye-opening learning experience.
I personally felt like SRS1110 is all hype. This class was boring and was offered at 7-10pm (WHY?). No amount of jokes, and anecdotes made it entertaining enough to stay after the break. However, the midterm and final were easy (only studied for 20 minutes before) and notes are available on notebro if you wish to skip. Choose a better elective!
If you keep up with the readings and can write a half decent essay on an exam, you'll get an A+ for this course. I was freaked out at the midterm because it was only an hour long and we had to write an essay and do short answer Qs, but she's an easy marker. Do the readings, prove that you've read them in the essays and you're golden!
I found that this professor sincerely WANTED the students to do well if they were willing. She explained her definitions & every term clearly and told us all what was to be expected on the exam. Even though I use basically only my laptop in all my courses, the switch in this class was really helpful and she didn't speak too fast so you missed info.
love this woman. super entertaining and really opens your eyes to things you didn't realize unless you are a religions student
Easy A for sure! Only one midterm and one final I recommend taking this class with Rabinovitch to bump up your grade. Although she doesn't allow laptops or cell phones and she's super strict about them. And another downfall is she uses no powerpoint slides and just stands up there and talks and talks writing one word on the board every so often.
Very interesting course but definitely something to boost your mark up. Midterm and final were very easy, aside from a few questions from left field. Prof is funny but quite crude, if that isn't your thing. If you're looking for an easy 'bird' course, definitely recommend.
This course is overrated. Course material is in fact interesting, however, the way the professor "teaches" the material is horrible. Avoid the class if possible or take it with another professor.
This class isn't as easy as it's made out to be. But if you attend the lectures, take good notes (she doesn't allow computers or any electronics because she says its distracting, which is true), and read the books, you'll do very well. She tries to make you succeed but every mc mistake costs you 1%
Got a bad first impression, but she gets better! The course material is super interesting, the prof does not seem very enthusiastic about teaching and was not very prepared. Marking is easy.
Very interesting, I loved going to class. Knows what she's talking about, great lectures. No electronics (for the best).
I agree with a previous poster: this class is not as easy as it's made out to be. Not only does every mistake on the multiple choice midterm (40%) and final (60%) count for 1% of your final grade, the questions are random (kinda like trivia). Readings are a must!
Love this professor! She is very knowledgeable about the subject and is very respectful. She is clear and concise in her lectures and gives you specific terms to focus on that usually end up on the exams. The exams are fair because she genuinely wants students to do well. If you attend all classes and read the textbook you will do fine!
She is awesome and this class was very interesting! I would take it again in a heartbeat. Huge class size, over 400 people. You must write 2 exams, midterm and final, all multiple choice, and you have no essays or assignments which I liked. Go to class, pay attention, take decent notes, and you will do great.
Very interesting class! Professor is very knowledgeable and clearly loves what she does. Class is a breeze if you attend, take notes and do your readings. Questions are not nearly as random as some have said. I love that she calls out on students who are talking, very refreshing!
The class is a bird course if you attend every class and do the readings. Readings are a must if you want 90+. Prof Rabinovitch is an amazing prof and makes the lectures interesting. The workload is quite light and the exams are easy if you took good notes.
Wonderful professor and a good & kind person. It is not a 'hard' course, but you have to attend classes and do the reading to succeed (unless you're a really good guesser). The lectures are interesting and well-organized. She's approachable and very fair.
Although very intimidating, LOVED her class. I loved the material so it was a very interesting course. The fact that the use of electronics is not permitted sucks, but other than that, I have no complaints!
Very interested in the material, and the professor was nice; however, it was just so.... blah. She rambled on a lot of the time and somehow made me actually fall asleep in one of her lectures. Exams were VERY specific although multiple choice. It may have included one thing she said that one time in that one lecture.. very unimportant stuff.
Excellent prof - a leader in her field. Course is well structured, lectures are fascinating, though a bit too personal at times for my taste. Still, a rewarding experience, no wonder it's such a popular course.
Dr. Rabinovitch is just FANTASTIC. The course itself is fairly interesting and easy to do well in. Exams are multiple choice, and very straightforward. If you do your readings, pay attention during lectures and take good notes- This class is an easy A+.
By far the best prof I have had. Not only is she funny, but she relates course material to her own life and always has stories to share. She does not post slides online, nor does she use any electronics. And you will get kicked out if you use any sort of electronic in her class. Listen to her speak, take good notes, and there's your B+
I can't believe there are any bad reviews for this professors - easily one of the most enthusiastic, excited and involved professors I've ever had. Made me fall in love with the topic, and even declare it as a second major. Truly a dedicated professor
She will change your life. She is so entertaining and knows what she's talking about. Note: you only have two chances for marks (mid-term & exam) STUDY for these. This is not a bird course. If you don't study, you will pay. She is really funny. Can't use phones during her class. Attend class and do the readings (they are mandatory to passing).
The lectures are very interesting and the teacher's crazy sense of humour and anecdotes make the class really fun! If you have any interest in history, religion and culture, then this course is for you. The title of the course may only imply witchcraft, but in class, so many subjects are discussed and it is simply fascinating! Recommended 100%
She is a very funny prof, but loves to ramble. She is really clear in what is important and not. Midterm and final are multiple choice, so it is very easy. did not attend most lectures and still finished with an 80. Pretty interesting. Would recommend the class and the prof.
This prof is by far my favorite professor, and this class was one of the most interesting I have ever taken. She is so knowledgeable and you can really tell she loves to teach. Her lectures are so interesting and she has so much personal experience with her subject. I highly recommend this class to anyone! Take it! you will love it! shes hilarious
Dr. Rabinovitch is hilarious! She has a super strict phone ban but otherwise, she's pretty awesome. Her stories and little side comments will make you laugh. Her midterm and exam questions are chosen fairly from her lectures, films, guest speakers. If you don't know what electives to take, choose this class or something else she teaches!
Awesome class! Super interesting and she really keeps the students engaged during the lecture. She really knows her stuff and has a lot of experience in this field so it makes it even more interested! Do the readings and attend class and you should pass for sure!
She has so many different stories to tell that make her lectures so interesting and she is very funny. Doesn't feel like a 3 hour class at all. Cellphones and laptops are not allowed while she's lecturing; she has called people out for that. The only bad thing is that there's only a midterm and a final, so you can't mess up either of them.
really an inspiration woman who tells it like it is. shes got spunk. shes very anti-technology and demands respect. lectures were always interesting and easy to follow. sometimes i wishes classes were a little longer because it felt like there was so much more to be discussed.
Her 3 hour lectures fly by, she really captures the students attention. She explains everything over and over again making it easy to study for. Straightforward class, but a lot of information to retain, do not skip any classes!
Hilarious, engaging and inspiring. Strict ban on electronics in class. Clear on expectations. Isn't afraid to tell students to shut up during lectures. Good notes are necessary because any little detail can and will be tested on. Only a midterm and final. Both easy if you read your notes a few times but don't slack since you're only tested twice.
She can be intimidating, I sometimes felt like she was unapproachable because if you didn't agree with her then she wouldn't like you. This course can have some seriously triggering material and she was good with trigger warnings but sometimes she wouldn't give one or didn't specify what could be triggering but she took criticism really well
Im sorry but this class is not as easy as everyone portrays it to be. Multiple choice tests are really hard... you need to study and know SPECIFIC things. The multiple choice options are so tricky. If your looking for an easy elective stick to something in the Classical Study field. This is a lil too much for what its worth.
This is one of the hardest elective I have ever had.. Multiple choice does not always mean easier.. especially when it comes to her exams the questions are SO specific. Not to mention I started studying weeks before the midterm and did all the readings but still only got a B..
No lectures online, so attend class as lectures are all you're going to get. Amazing prof, only one midterm and an exam, some specific questions on the midterm that were barely mentioned... Some material from the textbook is important for the tests, so read. Loved this class.
Very repetitive with her jokes.
Lectures were always really interesting. I will never forget the time she told us about reading "BDSM for Satan" in an adult toy store...
The class was what I expected it to be. Relatively easy, and the lectures were very interestingengaging. Lecture notes are crucial for studying for the exam, followed by the encyclopedia (and not that many pages assigned to read). The main textbook is actually not that significant for the exams (read the key concepts and summary). Easy AA+.
The teach and the topic are both interesting and engaging. If you go to class and pay attention you will do well... but I mean, who wouldn't go to class when you teacher is as funny and inspiring as Shelley. She started out as "the first female radio host in Ottawa", so you can imagine that she make class exciting. Favourite class in all 4 years!
This is not a "bird class" like everyone thinks. You need to work hard for it! No laptops or electronics allowed. She talks all class (doesn't write on board, no ppts). Movies shown in class are interesting!! Exams are trickier than you think. She's an alright prof. If I had to do it all over again though, I would have picked another elective
This professor is amazing! I work full time and I am completing my BA part-time so good lectures are important. She is great! Don't mess with her when it comes to class rules though (no phones in class and no laptop)! Multiple choice and TF for midterm ( got 80%).
What an amazing prof!! Really enjoyed this as an elective, definitely take this class if at all possible. Lectures were very interesting, the 3 hour lecture went by very quickly. Prof Shelley is extremely knowledgeable in what she teaches. Had one midterm and a final; both MC format. Very easy, interesting course!
Overall great prof. She is interesting, thorough and exams are very fair. Midterm was open book. Final was 60 multiple choice questions. No assignments. She doesn't allow laptops in first year classes or post notes online, but I actually found that beneficial. She is very nice to students and tries to be as accessible as possible.
I wish I could always have teachers as good as her. She Loves her field and it shows.
This prof was amazing! I'm in my first year and she made the transition from high school to university easy. She's a great professor to have and is funny and interesting.
This class was the best class ever. Shelley is so funny but is extremely serious when it comes to electronics! She'll kick you out! Easy A, I would definitely take this class again.
SO UNORGANIZED. She shows up late and the lectures are extremely unstructured and she gets off topic for ridiculous lengths of time, making it hard to follow and take notes.
I had only heard great things about her but was sadly disappointed. She was extremely unprepared- showed up late to class often, didn't have organized lessons. I can't count the number of videos we watched. I just wanted her to actually TEACH the class rather than her T.A'S. I hear she's a pretty accomplished woman, totally did not get those vibes.
Rabinovitch's lectures are long, drawn out, and quite confusing. She told us at the beginning of the semester she doesn't have a formal plan for each lecture, she pulled out a scrap of paper with some notes written on it and said that's what she was teaching off of. She repeats her stories over and over and sometimes just doesn't make any sense.
I didn't find the tests too difficult, but it was impossible to take notes in her class. She talks about herself most of the time, gets distracted way too easily, and unless you're registered with Access and they specify you need electronics for note taking, you get kicked out for having any. I do not recommend taking any of her courses.
I took this class thinking it would be interesting. All it includes complaints about how disadvantaged she is in society. This entire semester has consisted of nothing but youtube videos that I could watch on my own time. She was gone for most of the classes this semester and refused to answer emails to help students. Waste of time. Terrible prof.
despite what everyone says about witchcraft being an easy elective, it really isn't. complete waste of an elective and this prof is SO rude and honestly i don't know what i've even learned. no electronics allowed, no talking, no anything really .. worst first year class experience ever, she's a disaster so avoid the course and her
Would have to say the worst course I have taken so far at university. Literally no structure at all, we spent 90% of lectures watching movies off of Youtube. Professor often showed up late, once about 50 min into a lecture. Overall learned next to nothing in this course. But if you enjoy hearing sob stories about how the prof is disabled take it.
The course was overall extremely disorganized and incredibly biased. I had an issue with something said in a lecture but my email was ignored by all those who read it. She is consistently late and blames nearly everything on her hidden disabilities. The whole course was guest lectures or youtube videos. You could easily not go and get an A, though.
This class is an easy A. I didn't even attend the lectures, just go on Notebro and memorize notes students from previous years have posted! If you put in 3 days before a midterm or exam you should do well. Make sure you know all the key terms from Stein & Stein and read the encyclopedia
Don't take it. Not a bird course. Midterms and Exams are super tricky. Prof gets off topic way too often.
SRS1100 is overrated and I kind of regret taking it as an elective. The lectures were quite interesting but not what i expected. Sorry peeps but it wasnt about voodoo & witchy things, rather more like anthropology. Prof Rabinovitch is hilarious but so confusing if youre trying to write down notes. She drifts off and switches topics. Do the readings
She's kind of boring, but the content is easy. I barely studied and still passed with a decent mark. Most of it is very obvious answers. There's a midterm worth 40% and a final worth 60%.
she really doesn't seem to care about her students or how they do - majority of her lectures are off topic ramble that you probably don't even care about
Would not suggest this course as a bird course to anyone! Prof is very off topic and rants on and on, expecting people to write notes on such vague material: Her exams were tricky and she did not test at a first year level. Many better profs out there for electives to choose from and she would not be on my list. Work hard and an A-/A is doable
Worst prof by far... You will learn more by looking up Wicca or witchcraft on wikipedia
Like the prof but hate that she has one of her own books as required readings. It's not as nice of a read as the other book required, and is just a pain to have to read through and collect notes from! Also, you can learn most of the material from Stein and Stein alone.
Enjoyed taking her class. It was an interesting review of the history of many diverse religious and philosophies. I considered it one of the highlights of my time at UofO
Here three hour long classes could be taught in less than one. She rambles on and on off topic. If she stayed focused on the stuff we were getting tested on we'd need way less than three hours a week. Really frustrating to sit through a bunch of her ridiculous and untrue stories. Stay home, read the books and you'll do fine.
She is the smartest anthropological professors i have ever met. However, i would not recommend this class. Witchcraft sounded amazing to me and so cool, but NO, this course was heavy, it was not interesting at all, and you have to read so much for the final. I was so excited to learn about zombies and stuff, but u learn the history of it. SUCKS!!!!
This obviously depends on what type of student you are, I barely showed up to class and received a great grade. I also didn't use her book, at all. It really depends on how well you can memorize and if you take notes when she does speak .She was 30 minutes late to our midterm which was highly annoying. But then again she only uses multiplechoice
Worst proff ever. Constantly late (even to exam), rambles on about personal stories instead of course content, and can even be considered an extremist. Makes male castration jokes every other class. Her class is really just femnist wicca. Her book costs 90 dollars and has the grammar of a 5th grader. Google starhawk - thats what your paying for.
She is funny and her class isn't boring, but unfortunately it isn't well organized. She was almost always late (even to the midterm) and mostly had us watch youtube videos. I basically had to teach myself the course bc her lectures were so off-topic. It's too bad because she seems like a nice person.
This teacher is so hilarious, make 7pm to 10pm classes interesting and actually makes you want to go to class. If you don't want to go well you probably won't do as well on the exams because there are NO notes on blackboard. Yeah theres lots to read but its pretty interesting stuff. Opens up your way of seeing and thinking.
Great lectures, very interesting topic, and an all around great experience, just do your readings.
Easy A. Go to every class, participate when she asks questions, read the books, easy A+. Take it in the fall session so you get to wear a costume if its halloween for a bonus exam mark. There are 2 videos. Burning times, and Nazi occult conspiracy. both on youtube. take notes by hand, no electronics allowed. Great to raise GPA.
Shelley is probably one of my favourite professors. She doesn't allow technology AT ALL which is a great strategy to get a great mark. The midterm and test is all MC/TF and there are no assignments. She makes hilarious comments and jokes so be prepared to laugh. & her lectures are so interesting! Show up to class if you want to be entertained
best prof #1 luv her my goddess
She is very entertaining and the class will not be a bore! The questions on the MC/TF midterms and finals were a little abiguise making them difficult. Over the entire year there is only 100 questions between the midterm and final so you really have to know your stuff. People say it is an easy A but be sure you know your stuff.
This class was really easy if you listen to her lectures &take decent notes on lectures and on readings. The readings ARE on the tests so you should do them but you can easily skim through. She's pretty clear on what you should WRITE down (no electronics at all). Know the content pretty well & you'll be fine. Her 100 (total) questions aren't hard.
She's an amazing crazy prof that loves what she's teaching and does not take anyone's bs. No electronics so you have to write by hand, but its not bad at all. I learnt tons about different things and did in a way that was pretty fun. She only has a midterm and final and they're both multiple choice. If you go to class, do your readings, youre good
I've never seen a prof more simple than Shelley, she's very clear and precise about what she wants. You can tell she's been in the field for a while since she knows what she's talking about. Her biggest pet peeve seems to be electronics and trust me if she somehow sees your using any sort of electronic in her class she will point you out !!!
She's an engaging lecturer which almost makes up for the fact on how strict she is about phones and how she doesn't use a power point. Key word being almost. You need to pay attention and take good notes.
Very easy class. usually I have a hard time with three hour classes but she makes it bearable by being super funny and engaging. Show up, sorta pay attention and read what she asks and you'll get an A
Considering over 400 kids were paying 800 each for this course I would of hoped she could attend class in anything else but levi's jeans and collection of cereal box t shirts. She was often rude and grumpy. This course was interesting just did not like the prof personally.
Very interesting input, sadly there were too many people.
EASYY CLASS! She is a no no for electronics. Take notes by hand. i liked the course material so i could sit for 3 hours without loosing conscious, but it could be boring for a lot of students. Tests and midterms are multiple choice, super easy do the reading and listen to her you'll get a good mark.
A very interesting person with lots of stories to tell. Teaches class content like she is telling a story, which made it very easy to remember. Absolutely no electronics are allowed, but there were never more than 15 important terms to remember from each course. Readings were not on the midterm much, but made up a good part of the final exam.
I'm surprised people thought this class was difficult, I am by no means a straight A student but this class was so easy. There is only one midterm (40 M/C 40% of final grade) and the exam (60 M/C 60% of final) but as long as you attend you'll do fine (I never even opened the textbooks)
I loved this course. Prof Rabinovitch gives interesting, if a little rambling, lectures and explains the material really well. The reading covers anything left out in class, so do that. Exams were super easy. Remember to bring a notebook, because she doesn't allow electronics!
She seems to be unapproachable, however she is very kind and her lectures are interesting. She is funny and makes jokes which makes her lectures not feel so long. Midterms and quizzes are pretty easy, and you just need to show up to take good notes and you should be fine.
Shelley's voice is very engaging in class. Her midterm is 40% and finals 60%. Finals are a bit tough therefore get ready. Technological devices are not allowed in her classes, neither does she post slides so you have to go to class in order to get notes
Amazing prof. As long as you go to class and take good notes and do your readings (especially for the final), you'll do fine. The exams are multiple choice and easy. She's funny and the material is very interesting which makes the lectures quite enjoyable.
not a bird course. lots of readings (2 chapters per week plus 5-10 definitions) with a lot of unnecessary content. knowledgable prof but the 3 hour lectures are tiresome when you aren't allowed electronics. midterm is 40% and final is 60% and each question is a percent of your grade. lots of content so not a super easy course.
She's a great prof you will love her. Her classes are generally interesting but get ready to read a whole lot more than any other class you're taking. You will get a good mark as long as you attend her classes and do all the readings. Not an easy A but an A is definitely possible.
I loved this class to death and I love this prof to death it was such a great class
This prof is horrible. You are paying so much money to be at this school and she acts like she has the right to scream at you for checking your phone. She is often in a grumpy mood and half the time she isn't even talking about the actual course just "I was the first woman in radio in Ottawa" like girl I don't care.
DO NOT take this as a 3hr lecture. no powerpoints, no brightspace, old-fashioned listen to her talk and take notes, thats it. The class is easy but you have to actually go to the lectures b/c there's literally nothing else and it gets veryy boring veryy fast. ESPECIALLY in a 7-10 seriously avoid the 3hr lecture at all costs.
I missed the first couple lectures and read that I wasn't allowed to use a phone in class during a 3 hour lecture. I thought it was going to be awful until I actually went to class. In fact, she's incredibly engaging and has a great sense of humor. She just tells interesting stories and anecdotes all class, and somehow you end up learning it all.
Prof. Rabinovitch has a strict no electronic devices policy; no cell phones or laptops. Attendance is not mandatory, but the mid-term and final are heavily based on lecture material. Content in the textbook is often not referred to in class but can be found in some test questions. Long boring lectures. Food and snacks required to stay alert.
Not an easy class! The prof talks about her personal life more than class content, no technology allowed which makes it even more boring. I took this class as an easy A and I regretted it so so so much especially because the final was SO hard! It was all textbook-based, and the reading were heavy. I hated this class with a passion, would stay away!
SRS 1100 is said to be an easy A, not wrong. But the sacrifices you have to make to your life might not make this class not worth it. Prepare yourself for unstructured lectures, NO tech (which means no powerpoint) and endless classes of rambling, she doesn't stay on track at all and makes life unnecessarily difficult. Take this class at risk
She was an awesome Prof! The class itself was incredibly interesting but she made it a so much more interesting. I wish The class never ended. She was easy to talk to and understanding!
Gives great lectures; however, exams do not always accurately reflect course content. Shelley's first-year classes must take notes by hand.
She's not very professional and inconveniences her students through purchase of textbook and monotone lectures. For an elective course, it's not the worst choice, but you're better off taking a course in another faculty, where you might learn something useful for the same amount of effort.
Interesting content. Terribly grouchy prof.
I really enjoyed the subject material and lectures. For an online class, I found her class very organized. She is such an interesting lecturer with such unique experiences and knowledge to share. She can come off a bit harsh, but the only time was because students were uploading quizzes and videos to other sites. Overall, I would love to retake her
Honestly would not recommend taking this course. Overall, the course content and related readings is unorganized and boring, and the prof is definitely not chill at all. It feels like she's trying to overcompensate for the fact that this course has been called a "bird course", thus making things unnecessarily difficult, as well as time-consuming.
She took this course way too seriously for a first-year introduction course. I think she realizes people take it as a bird course, so she is extra uptight/strict/authoritative. It is still easy, but she is not fun.
Although this class is typically seen as an easy A, professor rabinovitch goes out of her way to inconvenience students and make it as difficult as possible to succeed. She assigns TONS of readings each week (some of which are not in the syllabus), additional films, and the lecture videos are boring and longer than necessary. Wouldn't recommend.
Definitely doable to get the grade you want if youre willing to put in the work. She gave us more work to do because of the online format during COVID, but honestly, just do it. I found that she sometimes had some very tricky and highly specific questions, but overall the concepts are simple and the course is so interesting that its worth it.
Very interesting lectures and easy material. Prof Rabinovitch can come off harsh, but I did not ever think she was being unreasonable. I think some people were peeved that she only made modules available for a day before locking them. But how hard is it to download and watch later if you don't have time? I didn't buy the text and still did well.
This course was an Easy A. In regards to the Prof: she does come off harsh and her attempt at humour may be off putting to students, but I was throughly entertained! She clearly enjoys teaching this course and is very knowledgable and opened minded. I'm only upset that I spent $$$ on the textbook which I didn't even end up reading or needing to.
Shelley is an amazing prof. I learned a lot from her class and would jump at the chance to take another one of her classes
Her lectures are quite entertaining, which I think is mainly due to my poor sense of humour. Love when she makes little jokes, and you can tell she loves it! I was forced to take my courses online due to COVID, and her course load is respective of that. There are 5, 10% quizzes and a 50% final exam, making it relatively easy to focus on the class.
Did not enjoy how this class was taught. The material is interesting but not worth how unstructured the lectures and readings are.
Honestly, the class itself had very light and easy material but this prof made it her priority to give us a hard time. She assigned SOOO many textbook/random pdf readings which were so unnecessary. Her quizzes had questions that were not even covered in the lectures the quiz were on. Material was easy and interesting but she has to chill!
There is SO MUCH reading to do a while I'm really interested in witchcraft it just became too much at some point. Also your mark is comprised of 5 quizzes and 1 exam (50%+50%). Because of this the amount of information you're required to learn doesn't make sense when each quiz is made up of 10 multiple choice or true or false questions.
Very interesting course and great content. I really liked the professor, I don't understand why people gave bad ratings. I just listened to her lectures which were recorded and I got an A+.So if you listen to her really carefully and don't miss the details you will get a good mark. Don't expect to get a good grade without listening the lectures.
I really enjoyed the class, I would have rated her a 5, but I did find that the lectures were longer than they had to be. She could explain some concepts in half the time she does because she does say a lot of unimportant information. However, her classes are interesting, she gives relevant examples, and she does funny things sometimes.
Good teacher interesting class, its not necessary to get the book. Lectures can be a bit longer than they should be but other then that i recommend this class.
Very caring and understanding professor. A lot of work load but very flexible. Amazing professor.
we luv shelley! easy marker and interesting content! But if you're picking her and she gives quizzes LEAVE HER!!! her quizzes are so flipping hard.
If you don't like to read - do not take this class. Couldn't believe the amount of reading. The textbook makes sense 50% of the time.
The professor is alright. However, her TAs are horrible. I emailed them for clarification on one of the midterm questions and their response was "check your notes/textbook" although I couldn't find it anywhere. Also, they take like three weeks to respond.
This was an asynchronous course, yet it was one of my favorites this semester because it was low maintenance and very interesting. All the readings were very interesting, and this professor is beautifully articulate when she lectures. She also has a cute cat that sleeps on the couch behind her head.
Rabinovitch has gone off the deep end and sees everything through the lens of racism. I do not believe this constitutes top-tier education, nor does it justify the price tag I pay for tuition.
Please do not mistake this course for a bird course, her online format with 5 quizzes + 1 final has completely ruined the class and has made her very bitter and unprofessional. Each quiz/final exam question is worth 1% (10 q/quiz) of your final grade and half of the time the questions aren't even from that module or are HIGHLY subjective.
This is no longer a bird course. Insane amount of content to read and watch and you need METICULOUS notes to get a good grade on the quizzes. Quiz qs are very poorly written and often are on random irrelevant details from your 6+ hours of readings/lecs. Each wrong answer is 1% off your final grade. All async and no office hours to ask questions.
first off - do not take this course. I was told it is an easy/interesting elective but THAT IT NOT THE CASE ANYMORE. The workload is beyond unrealistic compared to all my other courses. The quizzes barely touch on the large amounts of work you have to do. The prof and TA are very unhelpful, class is also asynchronous so you doing it all urself.
As long as you watch the lectures and take good notes, you'll do well on quizzes. Her lectures/films add up to less than the 3h class time per week. Readings are reasonable for a uni level course. People except to put in no work and be rewarded. Also, some advice, if you're not interested in a topic, it probably won't be easy.
I love the topics discussed in this course and (personally) I find Prof Rabinovitch quite funny. The quizzes are easy (as long as you take good notes, watch the videos and read the readings required for the course). The only downside about this class is the fact that they are no powerpoint slides.
The course is poorly thrown together + she is very rude + defensive. Students are banned from asking *any* course questions as she uses the same test qs every year. Quiz qs often don't make any sense or relate to material not covered. Any concerns brought to prof are met with anger. Lectures are years old recordings. NOT a bird course anymore.
Ok here's the thing, this class is asynchronous and online, so it's bound to suck a bit. The prof seems needlessly obsessed with copyright and did send out a long email lecturing us on it because we made a discord (which no one was using to cheat mind you). However, if you're willing to ignore the emails its an easy A on the quizzes.
This prof is NOT approachable, does not post slides and relies heavily on readings. She frequently talks in circles and her lectures and readings make little to no sense.
She likes to speak French but her French isnt that good. Its an alright class. I didn't do any of the readings and so far im doing well. Also, you can find the answers to most of her quiz questions on google. Take notes while listening to her lectures and you'll be fine. Kinda scared about the final (as it is worth 50% of your grade)
This prof is so sweet! I found her class extremely interesting,, essentially you'll hate the christian church after. Go figure. Her class is fairly easy so long as you keep up to date with her readings and take notes during the lectures. I havent even cracked a single textbook and received an A in her class, this shit is hella interesting.
This prof is insanely chaotic, you're banned from asking any questions via email to her or TA (they'll respond with "Watch the lectures"). 5 quizzes, each q is worth 1% of your final mark and they are horribly written. 50 q final worth 50%. The content is cool but this class was a nightmare. Uses 3 year old recorded lectures and no office hours :((
So hard to follow along, no slideshow and she talks in circles. Her lectures do not even have captions. Not a bird course at all. insane amount of reading and movies to watch. one question wrong is 1% off your final grade and exam is 50% of your grade.
I don't get what is going on in these reviews. There were some questions on the quizzes that I felt could have been worded more clearly but outside of that this course was a breeze. I just watched the lectures and did the quizzes and the exams. Too much reading? Just wait until you get into the later years where you're reading a few books a week.
(This class was asynchronous) Her videos were not very clear and she goes on and on based on examples. This class didn't get a midterm, only 5 quizzes, and a final exam which was worth 50% of our grade. She is accessible in emails but she rarely replies to them. This class was fun material wise but once was enough, a good side credit.
This was one of the most disorganized courses I have taken throughout my entire university career. The professor was rude and condescending, and there was zero transparency in regard to feedback for the assessments. Avoid.
made me want to commit sewerslide
I took this course as an elective and I was surprised at how engaged I was, and how much I learned! Dr. Rabinovitch is hilarious, very engaging, and super informative. If I could take a part II of this course I definitely would!
yaaaaaaaaas so good so funny
Rabinovitch is a fine Professor, but that's really it for me. All of the lectures are just her sitting in front of the camera talking. Graded on 5 quizzes (50%) and one final (50%). It's hard to know which of the 4+ hours of readings, lectures and documentaries are gonna be included on the quizzes since they're literally just 10 questions long.
I took this class as an elective and enjoyed it. It was easy (mostly because it was online), and I appreciated the asynchronous format. However, she doesn't provide the lectures in powerpoint or written format, only videos of her speaking (and there are many), so you kinda have to watch every single one to pass the quizzes and exam.
- her 10-question quizzes only have a 15-minute time limit: hated that. - everything was recorded lectures that will like 20 mins long, on top of readings from the textbook which is a $130 new (& the used ones go out fast) - just felt like i barely learned anything - forgot i even had the course half the time
Do not take this teacher. The entire class is based on recorded lectures of her talking in circles. No power points. The recordings are at least 3 years old. You are marked on 10 random questions but you have to watch so many useless videos. You will learn nothing and be tested unfairly.
Anyone complaining about her online course format is just lazy/inefficient. Yes, it sucks that she doesn't post slideshows, but you can just speed up her videos and take VERY simple notes. The quiz questions are EASY if you use your notes and common sense. I'm glad I took this class as an elective this summer, easy A :)
take this as a summer course! lots of reading + supplemental material so it's best taken when ur most available. quizzes are simple & straightforward imo. she rambles but it can add needed context. material gets rly interesting. if u need ppts slides then i wouldn't recc bc the lecture vids are just her talking (the vids aren't that long tho!!)
not bad. no ppt slides so get ready to listen and take notes. textbook is needed but can be found online for free. we had five easy weekly quizzes and an exam. some weeks were more heavy than others so make sure you set some time aside for this class. content was very interesting.
She is really rude when responding to emails. If you question her about anything, BEWARE.
Professor stirs controversy by openly yelling at students, in addition to her outdated teaching methods. This creates a stressful and bewildering class environment. Her class is very uncomfortable as kindness and empathy are in short supply with her. In summary, her habit of yelling and reliance on outdated methods challenge many students.
Shelley Rabinovitch is a professor who does not use any form of technology, it is purely readings and her talking in class. She rambles a lot and much of what she says is not relevant to the course material. Dr. Rabinovitch is incredibly condescending and unreasonable, if you have any questions or inquiries for her, expect an unhelpful response.
This prof has horrible lectures filled with aimless rambling and runoff sentences. The most random and obscure stuff mentioned in the lectures ends up being on the bi-weekly 10% quiz, which only has 10 questions. The final's worth 50%. The combination of her "teaching" style + absurd testing method made this class easily the worst I've ever taken.
The final exam is an online quiz worth 50% of your grade. You have one hour to do fifty questions, so one question = one percent of your final grade. That should tell you all you need to know
probably the most unprofessional professor at the university. I believe she was a genuinely good professor, but this has entirely changed however. She has a vendetta against the university now and takes it out on her students. It is impossible to reach her and she does not care one bit about her students. Do not take any of her classes anymore.
There are 5 online quizzes bi-weekly which cover what was in the previous lecture and there are only 10 questions on them. The final is also online and it is 50 multiple choice/true&false questions. You have an hour to complete the final. Overall the course was very interesting and easy. She does ramble on about random things but overall shes good.
She doesn't have any PowerPoint and just lectures and that's what you will be graded on. Great if you learn by just listening. She's very nice and gives very interesting lectures and assessments are easy.
The late night class coupled together with her frequent, incredibly long ramblings were truly annoying beyond belief. You must attend class, as there are no recorded lectures or slideshows. The quizzes were tricky, but doable if you paid attention (each 10% of your grade, with the final being 50%, both online multi-choice) Content was interesting.
doesn't care about students whatsoever and the entire grade is based on multiple choice- that says all you need to know. The content of this class was very interesting, I would recommend the class, but I would never recommend her.
Not a bad class, it's interesting. There were recordings of lectures so you could rewatch later. However, she tends to ramble a lot and there are a lot of multiple choice questions that feel like trick questions/are very specific. Make sure to double check your answers.
Such a sweet professor. She really knows what she is doing and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of students. It was a great class.
The course itself isn't a tough course to pass or to achieve a good grade in. However, she does not provide any lecture slides so you are stuck listening to her talk for however long she decides to make the class. This was supposed to be a three hour lecture but she always stuck to either an hour to two hours. Lots of extra (hour long) videos too.
The course itself was amazing, but the professor I don't think cares at all about the students, if anyone asked a question she considered unimportant she would call you out on it and not answer. She would also not allow you to talk during the lectures which I didn't mind. The content was easy and interesting and I throughly enjoyed the course.
yells at students for asking questions and when what shes teaching is proven incorrect she throws a fit. no powerpoint presentations, no notes just talks about stories that arent true and complains about the students. She yells at you to buy her textbook(dont). She will try to report you for cheating to the faculty if you talk to classmates AT ALL
She provided an amazing class this semester. There is not too much homework. This class is a well-known elective course at uottawa.
