She is not clear during her note taking. Always wants to show the short cuts without giving you a full understanding of the problem. She doesn't collect or grade homework. Your grade is all quizes and exams. All in all the class is not good for someone who isn't strong in math

She lectures very fast and it's not always clear. Doesn't ever go over any homework, ever. And doesn't actually answer your questions when you ask her, just dodges them by saying she'll look it up later or makes you feel stupid by asking.. I thought it was a rough class. Take with caution.

This professor complains alot about having a lot of work to do. She doesn't care for student feed back. For example, she has homework due at such odd days, it just doesnt make sense. Many students including myself, asked her to consider changing homewor due dates, she didn't bother to consider it.

I'll start by saying I am a math major and an A student. I was so adamant on leavin this class that I took my first "w". She told us that we would be her "guinea pigs" and she would not be teaching any lessons in class. She made us research our own YOUTUBE VIDEOS to teach ourselves. Quite rude and unhelpful. Highly suggest any other teacher.

This kind of a professor is a first for me. Never have I ever had a professor who doesn't lecture during class, just makes us do worksheets during class time. In order for us to know the material, we have to watch Youtube videos, which the students had to provide! She said she wanted to test this method of teaching, but she must be just lazy!

The worst math teacher ever. The first few weeks of lectures she made us watch YouTube videos to be able to understand the material. After she saw that people were not passing her class after the first exam she started teaching but she doesn't teach the material in the proper way. I would not recommend anyone taking this class.

She is hands down, the laziest teacher I have ever encountered. She says she doesnt want to lecture because its not very effective and will put us to sleep, so instead she assigns YouTube videos that we have to watch then do a worksheet going over that section in class. We are so far behind we had to take a test home the week before finals.

At the begging of the semester she had this theory of YouTube videos being able to teach her student for her. She never lectured, but students would have to do video activities before class, then groups the rest of the class. After a majority of the class bombed the first class she gave a retake. She also could not shut up about Fantasy Football.

I have my final on Thursday. Some of us are barely passing. These people are not lying when they say that the teaching method is awful. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!

Don't do it. She doesn't lecture or explain. You watch youtube videos of simple concepts and then the homework is on something completely unrelated. Then you go to class and work as a group to learn the topic, and she comes around and will help if you need it, or talk about football. Tests are 90% of your grade. Class of 40 was down to 12 by end.

If you are a visual learner, this is not for you. We dont use a math book and she teaches things her own way. She believes the YouTube channel she created if more effective than a book. It made it difficult when I was unable to use a reference. Class is two days a week and we get an assignment every day. I didnt have enough time to get tutoring.

Probably the worst math professor I have ever encountered. Most students drop her courses early. Not only does she assign loads of homework online, but she is also a harsh test grader, as well as a very rude and uncaring instructor. Tests are 60% of your grade and hardly anyone still in this class is passing. Avoid taking her at all costs.

i was there for two weeks before i dropped this course. her lectures are boring and do not cover important material on the tests, and additionally, she is an extremely strict grader. you have to use webassign for the homework she gives (which costs $70-$90) and she gives a lot of pointless worksheets.

A student asked for help, it was graphing, and she asked for help on to graphing it and was stuck on ymx+b and she told her "We already went over that, I'm not going over that again". Just plain rude, she only wants to teach it her way only, and I wont take her Pre-Calc class, I hope she reads my review and actually be a teacher

She is the absolute worst professor I have ever had! I had an emergency so I missed class, I emailed her immediately and she told me "welcome to college sweetheart" and failed me. She constantly called the class stupid, and morons. I literally cried and she mocked me and laughed in my face. The whole class failed. DO NOT TAKE HER

Professor Dawson has to be one of the most rude and unapproachable professor's on RCC's campus. Her teaching method is little more than solving problems on the board in front of you. During class, she would make numerous mistakes on the example problems and we'd have to restart an entire lecture. She also drops without warning, avoid at all costs.

By the end of the semester, her class of 40 was down to about 12. She drops without warning and whoever she can to cover up the fact that the majority of students that take her class fail.

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. She is very unclear about how she grades things and missed a whole moth of class and didn't give any explanation and continued to test us on things we hadn't cover and test are 60%of your grade. She was so behide she rushed thought 3 units in the last two week and tested us on it. NEVER TAKE HER!!

She's nice but she explains the concepts in a really complicated way and then right after she hits you with another less complicated way. She was also gone for like a month straight?? She's straight from the book, there's no originality left in her body. She even wears the same clothes every class. Anyways hard no.

Worst teacher and person ever. A horribly nit-picky person who'll mark you down over 50% even if you got all the math right because it doesn't perfectly match her secret PERSONAL preferences. Tests you on things she never even mentioned once and then docks you for every tiny possible thing she can. She's extremely cold and uncaring. Mental issues.

If u need math help she wont help you. Gives way to much work. My support class that went along with my trig class was only 2 units but was more work than the actual trig class and was just busy work that didnt actually help me with trig. Doesnt give enough time to finish exams, when I asked for more time to finish exams she insulted me instead.

She doesnt care about her students, she gets fussy, and her lectures are super boring. I'd rather watch a tortoise walk a mile than being in one of her lectures again.

Worst teacher I have ever had. The questions in the tests are not what she covers in the homework/lectures, she gives a ton of homework and she is just a plain and simple crappy teacher. If you had a power outage its your fault. That was a practical email sent by her. Im sorry but with the amount of work she gives I say just drop, itll save you the time. She is prone to fail! I wished I came here sooner I would have picked a better professor than her.

I counted and we have 80 assignments in the course. Makes you watch her lecture videos, which are minimum 30 minutes, and you have to write everything she does. 7 lecture videos a week. Far too much work for a math class. Also 7 homework assignments a week. Very specific in what she wants done. Must follow her way. Take someone else!

She is so tedious. It is an easy class, it is an easy subject, yet this professor somehow makes it just awful. She puts in her syllabus she does not micromanage but she does... which makes me FEAR and DREAD what her idea of micromanaging is... Take someone else.

No late work, fine. Lots of assignments, fine. Your online exam had issues, sorry no credit/redo. Avoid taking her online class, she does not fully grasp how to use the various apps (canvas,Mathlab) and the formatting for the assignments makes it frustrating. Makes cheating a big deal witch is understandable, but a contract on the second test? RUN

I recommend reading the reviews before taking her class, because they're true. She is extremely nitpickey with her grading and one little mistake can cost you your whole grade. She makes the subject she is teaching so difficult with all of her work when in reality it is so simple. This class is nothing but busy work.

Only liked it cause I could do it whenever. We had to pay for a website that costs about $105 JUST for a summer course. She grades your work LATE. She has automatic announcements that are probably DATED. Will not accept late work, but will release your grades three weeks later. YOU MUST COPY HER LECTURE WORD FOR WORD, or else it's incomplete.

She ALWAYS cancels class & as a result, rushed through each chapter to make up for the lost time she caused. Each week there's at least 6 assignments due, lectures are completely confusing and she's easily frustrated if you ask for help or clarification. Micromanages, overcomplicates everything, and graded everything once the semester was over.

Our class received not one lecture. It was basically a learn on your own course which made it highly unnecessarily stressful. Takes a long time to respond to email's.

This is your warning! This teacher did not give a single lecture or lesson. Because we were never taught what we were learning, our days consisted of group work where all of us would struggle to figure out what we were reading and how to answer the workbook questions. Upon asking the professor for help, she would just give the answer.Just terrible!

She was gone most of the semester and came back during the last 3 weeks making the class a lot harder since attendance was now mandatory and you had to be on camera to take your exam and get credit. She never gave any lectures, and you have to buy the online textbook/course to be able to do the homework.

Our professor was gone most of the semester for unfortunate circumstances. However,the way the class is structured you are put into groups and are made to do collaborations with EVERY1 in the group before you are even able to do any of the hw. The collabs you are just teaching yourselves and if you have any questions you have to email the teacher.

Group work doesn't work, it never has.

Her teaching methods DO NOT WORK. I've only been in this class 3 month and I am struggling she never really breaks down the problem so you can get a better understanding the collaboration work doesn't help because if everyone in the group is clueless how would we know. Professor does not care about students. Medical emergency came up and did not work with me whatsoever even though documentation could be provided. A lot of homework. Discussions weekly. Three exams. Takes forever to respond to emails. Does not care. DO NOT TAKE. Dean should definitely look into her "teaching skills".

It's been a year since i dropped this professor but she was HORRIBLE. 2 absences and ur kicked out of the class, even with a medical emergency. Lots of homework that was due the same week with no teaching. All she would do was watch and not teach. I don't know how she's still teaching. Don't take this class even as a last resort.

If you want to pass any math course, do not take it with this professor. She does not care about your success. Her tests are NOTHING like the assigned homework nor did the lectures align with the tests. You may email her or ask her a question; she won't get back to you until eons later. She was genuinely one of the worst professors/ teachers I've ever had. I'm not entirely sure what she is getting paid to do as all lectures you watch are videos that are at least 20 years old that she herself didn't even make. Along with that she is little to no help when you email her. All I can say it avoid this professor!
