Pretty good class, alot of work to cram into 6 weeks, be is doable. Quizzes are online and easy if you do the study guides. Prof. was helpful and answered questions. I would recommend but you must work. But if you work, you will learn.

She is not willing to help the students!
Not willing to help??? Are you kidding me? Please tell me you are. She is very willing to work with students. Very flexible. Will stay after class to help too. I haven't needed it myself but a person in my class has repeatedly. BTW, if you are taking her online you are missing out. Her personality makes it fun.
She's helpful and will spend time with you if you don't understand any concepts. If you do the work and study hard, you will get an A.
Very good teacher. You have to work for your grade, but the class is really not that bad as long as you do the assignments. She gave my class opportunities for extra credit. Recommended.
Took online class, I used MyEconLab's Study Plan to get through the class, and that is why i got a good grade. She is there if you need her, but I never even really talked to her. Hard class, but if your willing to put in the work, then you'll do good.
I took this class online and it's very challenging. All the work is done through a website. There are very little written assignments. So if you are not a very good test taker, then avoid this class. It's very difficult to read the text and try to retain the information.
Very helpful and explains concepts in details. This is defintely not an easy A class but A is definitely attainable. Lot of points are given for class work and homework plus she gives extra credits. Took her inclass Macro but all the quizes and exams were online and there are so many study questions that will help you get a good grade.
I took the class online. She followed the class calendar to a tee, so you just have to be on top of due dates. We also read some chapters from Freakonomics, which we had to discuss in the forum. Read the book, do the practice homework on MyEconLab, keep up with due dates and you'll pass the class easily.

I took this course online in summer,it is very challeging. If you can not handle challege please do not take this class.I agree with the previous comment not and easy A.You have to work for your grade. You will not disapointed by taking this class. One of the best professors I have ever had, will take Ms,Perez for Econ 102.
Good prof, you dont really need the book. Just go to class because she gives out easy in class assignments and EC. Just do all the study plan for each chapter and you can get easy A or B.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS ONLINE. Her e-mail responses are sub-par. Not a high quality class.
great professor. class is not for the lazy. follows class calender to a tee with many assignments and work. if you want to take her do it during a regular semester.
taken her online 102 and 103 classes. Its a lot of work but ive managed to pull of B's for both semesters. If you have a question, your probably better off going to the econ lab then her cause her answers are always very blah and not specific. she tries to help but this subject is really hard, especially cause it is online
Do not take this class online; If you have to take it online, find another teacher. This teacher gives the bare minimum instruction and barely responds to your emails. If at all possible, do not take this class online.
Teacher is not very helpful. The way she explain topics is not clear at all!! Take another teacher!
I took the 8 week class this fall on campus. Reminded me of a high school class. Lots of assignments, group work & EC. Tets & quizzes were online, which were pretty easy if you do the study plan. Got A's in all the tests & final. You also get to play a virtual stock mkt game. Class was easy but you might want to take Econ 102 before this class.
excellent class b/c the book is excellent. any person who has any interest in business or politics should take this class. A LOT of reading. Do ALL the study plan questions and all the reading and you'll get an easy A. Follow all directions to the T. Do not ask for help b/c she probably won't give it unless its not in the book. Fascinating subject.
The material is very challenging. Must put alot of time into the class and study in order to get a decent grade. Many assignments and tests due in short time period. Don't recommend to people with alot of priorities. Overall not easy class, but decent quality.
Talk about overload! Get ready for a bumpy ride. Home you like tons of homework. Do not bother to go to her for questions, she shows no interest in teaching except in the class room. It is her way or the highway. She could be an awesome teacher if she just mellowed out a little and cared about her students more.
Massive amounts of work and little time to complete it. Don't be late or you get a zero. She can be late, but not you. Only two days for major test on line. The class is in the classroom, but she requires test on MyEconLab and only gives two days. To heck with the fact you have other things scheduled. You live for her and he desires.
Rush >>> rush >>> rush >>> work >>> work >>> work >>> no help >>> no help >>>no help... that should about cover it. oh and do your study plan or fail.
i just took her in spring semester. i was so scared of ECON. it was actually fun. she does give out lots of homework. but it really helped me understand better. so im glad she did. make sure do all the study plan. that really helps for the quiz or exam. go to class. her lecture and her way of explain econ made econ much more fun.
She does not help you at all. You ask for your grades and she does not give them to you. When you email her she does not respond. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! All she does it assign third party sites for work
I have her for macro. I get help from her when I ask through email or in person. With her you get back what you give. Be prepared to act like an adult, study, participate in class and do the work if you want a good grade. I've enjoyed the class and wish I had taken her for micro.
Doesn't clearly explain assignments. Requires use of 3 different websites doesn't explain the websites functionality. Extra credit is only games 1 student to win gets the extra credit. Assigns too much homework and treats adults like elementary students. Looking at your work before you can leave the class. Superiority attitude!
I truly enjoy the class because I am taking it online and it fits my own working schedule perfectly. And it is simple and easy. You do have to work hard to get the As because there will be lots of reading. But as long as you do all the work as directed. You will get an A no problem.
She was not very understanding. The work load is unrealistic for a four week class. She would occasionally leave out major details to assignments and then add them by the time the assignment was already due. Assignments are due on Saturdays and if you miss it she will not let you redo it.
She is the best teacher I've ever had. Truly, amazing teacher. The subject is kind of tough, but if you study for quizzes and exams, you should do just fine.
Unrealistic workload, very mean and does not take kindly to differing opinions
A pretty good teacher but she does not control the class well. Sometimes she was unable to answer my questions (not sure if she didn't understand or if she just wasn't listening) and it didn't seem like she is truly invested in teaching. Despite this it was a fun class and there were some fun and informative games. Looks like Elaine from Seinfeld.
Tough class. Shes a good teacher, and she explains the material well. She answers questions and is a pretty nice lady. But there is a ton of work and its spread out over 3 different websites which doesnt make much sense to me. The grading is confusing and you cant keep track of your progress. Be prepared to work for your grade.
she makes it manditory to use the Connect that comes with the book. READ THE BOOK! makes sense if you read. Do the extra practice questions she provides on connect, literally are the questions on her quizes. the work load is constant but never excessive. Do the Freakonics they are major points towards grade. show up to class and you will do fine
I took the 8-week condensed online class, and it was a LOT of work... but it's supposed to be 2x as much as the usual workload, and she warns you about it at the very beginning. I thought she did an excellent job of keeping in touch with the students. The material is easy, there's just an awful lot of it in this version of the class.
She's a great, engaging teacher who loves to discuss topics relative to the lessons and things in life. The class itself is difficult, but she makes it bearable and interesting to attend every time. IF you're looking for a good teacher for ECON then she's the one you gotta get. Plus, she's pretty attractive. ;)
not a very good teacher. Very confusing in giving instructions. Changes the syllabus or modules in canvas all the time. Not flexible. Warning if you take this teacher and not pass. I told you so. I regret taking her I should have taken the advise of some of the students whoe posted here.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER! I'm a good student with straight A's in accounting and Econ 102 class. But I'm most likely to get a B or a C in this class with with working my ass off. She barely gives extra credit. you miss an idea in her discussion gives you close to 0. No way to recover. TOO MUCH WORK and class avg is below 70%. Not worth it!
Do not take her 4 week online summer class 1)Have a job, 2)Taking a second summer course, or 3)Have kids. I commit more than 7 hours behind this class a day and I can say I never gained more than a 4 day lead and a average of a B-. The learning software is terrible and the answer book is outdated. The questions is a deceptive eyesore.
Sum up, don't take her class unless u dont have a choice. She is not a worse professor but she is very strict when grading. If u just want an easy A, this is not a good professor for you; however, if you wish for a challenge, this professor is best for u.
I kind of dislike this sites grading, but yes she does make you work for help. She's very tensed upin her lecture. She seems teasing when you want help, like if you don't understand something, she's not clear. Tests are online and almost every week. She does have excellent communication. When she says she'll get back within 24 hours she's good @ it
She is a good teacher in that she really knows her stuff. Most of the assignments, including tests and quizzes, are online. If I missed class I would feel lost for a bit.
Great class, you will learn so much more with this instructor than making the mistake I made previously with the 'easy A' type options. Taking Perez for this class made me realize how much I can accomplish. Looking back I think I learned ZERO economics in my prior class, now it all came together.
I took the online class. You have a chapter with short 20 minute quizzes once a week. The quizzes are easy if you study the problem sets at the end of each chapter. If not they can be difficult. Discussion boards are required. She also provides lots of other online resources, like video and PowerPoint in case you need the extra help. Slow grader.
She is an amazing teacher. Expect a lot of reading and assignments, but the class isn't really that difficult. Just make sure to watch all the videos she makes and participate in all the group discussions. Would definitely take her again.
8 week online class. I was taking 4 classes including this one, so if your going to take this class make sure your other classes are easy. You need to very close attention to the book. You need to understand every single part that you read. A lot of quizzes and homework. They're not hard if you understand the chapters in the book.
Took 8 week online class. Lots of work, but manageable. Good class overall.
I took Econ100 as a summer accelerated class. It was a pretty easy class, but it doesn't help that the textbook used was the EXACT one as the one I used for high school Econ. There is a group project, which is stupid for a summer online course, but it was standard. She was really helpful if you had questions.
Professor Perez is very passionate about teaching her students about current issues of the world and how they affect the economy. Take her if you want to learn. All quiz's and exams are online. pay attention and sit in the front row, guaranteed pass!
Before her, I was a double-major. Now, Im a triple-major. Shes one of the best professors Ive had in any dept. Shes extremely knowledgeable and makes ECON interesting. She definitely influenced my decision to add ECON as another major. She encourages respectful, concise class discussion, and dispels common myths. Highly recommend!
She actually cares and makes sure you understand the course material. The class is fun and engaging. The assignments she gives are reasonable and all helpful. We use MyEconLab,a study module and quiz for each chapter, and occasional quick and easy hw sheets. only 3 exams. But all the coursework should be easy if you pay attention and read the text.
Wow is all I have to say. If you question this teacher she will send a nasty email to the class. She requires you download intrusive software on your computer that records you while you take a test. She assigns biased articles for you to answer questions to. Your typical can't-think-for-yourself sheep. The only positive has been reading Freakonomic
This was a four week class. It was A LOT of work. I took her for Macroeconomics in class. I prefer her in class because she is a great professor. Make sure to do the practice questions they'll be on the quiz. She offers extra credit make sure to do it. Without extra credit I would have gotten a B with Extra credit I got an A. She responds fast
The class is very straightforward: read the chapters, do the practice questions, answer EVERY part of the discussion prompt and you will get an A. Grades are updated right away when dealing with assignments with Connect so you know where you are in the class. Extra credit is also available.
I'd classify this course as a hybrid course because all testing and quizzes are done online as well as a fair amount of the homework. You definitely have to work for it if you want an A. She is a great professor though and explains the concepts as best she can for someone, like myself, who find economics a hard subject to grasp.
Very passionate and engaging person which keeps you paying attention in class. You HAVE to buy the book only to get the online course code, but then you never use it again. All tests and quizzes are online (and fairly easy imo) but they're timed. I wish I had taken her for 102 as well because I'm actually understanding economics for the 1st time.
She's knowledgeable & keeps you engaged in class with lots of activities & classwork you can do with other people. She's a VERY strict grader, but never tells the grading criteria up front. Just be as specific as humanly possible. She seems to have a weird personal mission of convincing everyone that capitalism is the best economic system on earth
Sheri Perez's class was amazing! She tried to make sure that we were never confused about any of the topics, even physically demonstrating some of the topics for more clarity. She constantly surprised our class with random extra credit opportunities such as auctions for EC. Most of the homework and assessments are done online. I would take again!
Best professor I've taken! She makes a hard subject very enjoyable. She gets everyone involved in class and makes learning fun and easy to understand. She accepts everyone's opinion. She also gives you so many opportunities to be successful in her class. She even messeged me at the end of the semester and said I can always reach out to her for help
I took this class to knock it off of my Social Sciences Academic Report. Once entering class and going over the syllabus I thought to myself "this is too much work for this class.. is it worth it?" but Prof. Perez makes the class enjoyable and as long as you read the chapters and do the work, you'll pass. She's an excellent teacher, very spunky.
Took the 8-week course at the same time as 4 other classes and it was excellent. The platform (McGrawHill) didn't always work for everyone, but the textbook and lectures provided were great. Perez wants you to succeed and is very helpful. Take copious notes. Weekly exams, discussions, midterm, final, and group project. Super fast-paced.
Took again. Professor makes economics easy! Assignments are due twice a week+ three midterms and the final. All activities are so well-chosen that you would understand the hardest concepts by the end of class! Very interesting topics and activities. You would have a plenty of extra credit opportunities. Study, enjoy your knowledge and get your A!
As long as you do the work, you will easily get an A. She was really awesome and provided us with videos and Youtube lectures for each lesson. I literally spent a max of two hours a week on the class. I took it as an 8 week course. I enjoyed the class and the layout way more than I thought I would. Sheri was great with all my questions!
STAY AWAY! She makes you download a software that records you while you take your exams! Shes also a very rough grader and will deduct points for the dumbest reasons. Her instructions arent clear!
Honestly, I had no problem with the assignments or the way the class was set up. There's tons of opportunity for extra credit, but with the way she grades written assignments, you'll need that extra credit. I felt like she docked points heavily for things that were not important (or not what the writer intended).
A lot of online home work. Good lectures in class with small group, in class, mini projects, that only take a few minutes each time. Lots of reading to understand the concepts and math.
Professor Perez made the class interesting and engaging. The lectures were interactive. She does a good job of explaining the broad ideas. Although not stated, this class is really a hybrid class; ergo quizzes, study plans and exams are all online. Paper homework is given, but it is usually once very two weeks. Many opportunities for extra credit.
What a great instructor! Makes a somewhat hard subject very understandable! Group work, and interactive discussion! It's a hard class, don't think you won't have to work for a good grade. But Prof Perez is an amazing teacher! Definitely would take any class of hers again! It was hard but I definitely earned my B! One of the best teachers I've had!
She makes class incredibly fun. Lectures are very easy to follow and homework can be done in less that 30 mi. Only thing is you must not forget about it like me! ended up with a high C because i kept forgetting about homework. she gives out a ton of points in extra credit. Should of ended up with an easy A. Don't make the same mistake I made!
Took the hybrid class. If you want to take a high school level class, be treated like a high school student and teach yourself the material at home anyways all while PAYING for a college class, by all means, take this class. The material itself is not difficult, but its presented in the most lazy, torpid and tedious online format I've seen so far.
A lot of these negative responses aren't accurate! Sheri Perez is a caring and fun teacher! She made macro-economics interesting! Group games are fun. Its Econ, so there is a lot of homework, kind of like a hybrid class, everything online. Wonderful teacher, I miss her class, and would definitely take her again!
Econ 102 is a hard class if taken online (4 weeks). You have to read, answer questions, do hm and 1 timed quiz for ea. chapter, it's about 3 chapters/week. There are 3 timed exams and 1 comprehensive really hard final The teacher was always willing to answer questions but it's just a lot of material, you really have no life while taking this class.
Perez provides so many resources to her students to make sure they succeed. 3 unit tests, a simple group project, and a final plus all the other assignments. 6-week course so it's fast-paced, be ready to put in the effort because 4 assignments minimum for every chapter and 11-12 chapters total. Fairly easy A if you put in the time, plus lots of EC
Professor Perez made Econ fun! She made concepts relatable. Many in-class activities, some handouts, and a lot of extra credit. There are weekly online homework and quizzes with multiple tries. Three tests are in-class and the final is cumulative. There is basic math and graphing. One very easy group project. Easy A if you don' forget about the HW!
I took Sheri Perez over the 19' Spring Semester & she was wonderful! Whilst I'm a liberal student, I appreciated getting taught libertarian approaches to Economics for once. Class activities were fun, a lot of homework but it was manageable. Only thing I disliked was she was a very tough grader in class-assignments, but I learned A LOT from her! :)
She's a very critical teacher but the kind that motivates you to study. She tells real life examples for the lessons which makes it interesting and easy to understand. Lots of extra credit opportunities and she's open to answering questions or concerns. She uses clear powerpoints. There are fun economic games too that we can learn from.
There's just an overwhelming workload, (I counted) for my other classes I have around 25-30 assignments she has 53 assignments in her grade book. Including study plans, dynamic study modules, "interactive" homework, one try homework on Pearson. It just too much busywork, I feel like my bags are heavier than the workload.
I would NOT recommend her as a teacher. She was very condescending with her responses whenever I would ask questions and her responses were not helpful. Her instructions are extremely unclear and the structure of the class is very confusing and disorganized.
Professor Perezi makes you purchase a code for around 100$. She also makes the final exam proctored on her syllabus she said she would give out information for finals the month before but she only gave it the day it opened. No study guide, when doing a review she doesnt tell you the wrong to right answers.
don't count on her extra credit assignments, makes empty promises, preparing feedback on the assignment takes forever
She is a very knowledgeable instructor, and her classes are fun. Her extra credits though, are just compensation for too much point reduction of your papers, (Too much point for minor errors) and do not wait for her useful feedback on your project. The reason I got A, is that I did all of my extra credit. Stay away if it is your non-major course.
She won't give you any useful feedback, like never. Just don't if you have other options
Web-Conference Attendance, Homework Assignments, MyEconLab Study Plan Assignments, Quizzes, Unit Exams 3 @ 80 points each, Stock Market Project, Final Exam. Class is done through BigBlueButton, divides us into breakout rooms randomly gives a portion of the worksheet for group to work on (if shy you can just type). Text and material cost over $100.
This course was way harder then I expected it to be. There was a lot of assignments, and you would lose points over the dumbest things. Took forever to grade your work. Would never really give you the help you needed when you asked for it.
I took her 8 week online class, which wasn't so bad. Quizzes and HW on 2 chapters each week so be prepared to read. She would hold some web conferences here and there which would help A LOT. Great Lectures! Made me wish I would of taking her in person.
Prof. Perez was a pleasure to take for ECON 103. As long as you show up to class and do your work, you will do well in her class. The final is weighted pretty heavily so make sure you prepare for that. Other than that, Prof. Perez has a passion for teaching economics and truly cares about her students,10/10 would recommend!!!
I thought the class was hard but Professor Perez made it fun and interesting. She was always there to help us anytime we needed help. I would love to take her again in the future soon. She is such a sweet and caring individual that treats her students as humans and is very understanding regardless of the situation.
She does require a textbook through McGrawHill which is the program that most, if not all of your assignments will be on. Every week there are a few assignments typically all of them are due on Fridays That is the only reason I would not take her again I just wish that she would have made the assignments due on Sunday that way I have had more time.
There is a lot of reading into this class through MyLab, which most of the work is located. There is also a stock market project and few discussion boards. I did struggle with this class, but reaching out helps. The assignments are a bit hard, wish there were other alternatives to get through the class without staying up and studying all night.
Each week there were assignments that were due via McGraw Hill that were due on Friday night. There were four tests overall, one of them being the final. The weekly assignment took almost two hours. There are three discussions that are due before the unit exams. She responds to emails fast and is very understanding. There is a required meeting.
Take her class! Any Econ class is going to be work heavy. I absolutely love her, she's always there to help, doesn't make you feel less than for asking about the same thing. She is super wonderful, caring, and so helpful. Hands down one of my favorite professors, and I don't say that often! Her teaching style is on point, and effective.
This class was great! 4-5 assignments per week all due Friday and took 1-2 hours to complete. There's a required web-conference but you can do it any time during the semester. Prof was super caring towards students and responded quickly. Exams were proctored but open notes. I'd absolutely take this Prof again. There's extra credit as well!
Content of the Class is Challenging. However, She's by far my favorite Professor! No one else I'd rather take on this course with, absolutely amazing. Take her class.
I had a rough time in this class, and I wouldn't suggest taking it with three other courses if you can help it. She's not a bad professor, but everything is on McGraw Hill, the work is boring, and the assignments that take the longest have the least amount of points. I'm a slow worker, so don't take this class if you're like me. Not bad, though.
This teacher is good. She made difficult subject matters understandable. You will need to buy the textbook. There are also a lot of assignments, but they're not difficult. Throughout the class, she gives extra credit opportunities. If you're looking for an easy A, look for another class. But it's not that difficult if you keep up with the work.
Great professor all around. Very organized and taught the course in a way that was easy to comprehend. Very fun class, lots of group work, and easy A as long as you attend class. Prior to taking this course I did not know what I was planning on minoring in but after taking Econ 102 and 103 I now have a passion for economics.
She goes way beyond what most instructors do with online courses. She makes sure to engage and help you understand the subject matter. Follow the due dates and do her reviews and you'll do well in her class.
If you are looking for an easy A, this is NOT the place to get it. GET READY TO READ. Everything was done through pearson and exams are proctored. 3 exams and a final comprehensive. Exam questions are pooled from the study plan and quizzes. Dont skip any assignments. You will need all the points and extra credit you can get.
Bit of a tricky class, but only because of the material itself - some of the questions are worded weirdly sometimes. Otherwise, great professor. She's super caring and very passionate about her class, always willing to help out. She lets you use notes on tests for a bit of extra credit, and there's plenty of other extra credit opportunities.
Almost everything is done through McGraw Hill, an external online site, which I'm not a fan of. On the 4 assignments done in Canvas, she does give good feedback, though. Assignments feel tedious and grueling, which can lead you to kinda slacking on them. Not too difficult if you put time into them, but be ready to put a lot of time into them.
She's nice but she gives A LOT of work (2-4 assignments per week and sometimes long). I highly recommend studying and EC for this class. My biggest gripe is the homework only being one attempt. I can't stand penalization when trying to learn the material. All exams proctored/open notes. Final exam is worth 200pts. Overall, not bad but eh.
attendance is mandatory, but it was much help with understanding the material. a bit of homework through mcgraw hill which i just personally hate with a passion
Professor Perez actually helped me understand Econ. She gives really entertaining real world examples and knows how to help all students to succeed. She knows how to engage her audience and help them understand through stories and also group work. The group work made me nervous but it was easy and super helpful. Would highly recommend her class.
This class is easy if you put in the work and if you study correctly. I started the class off with an A but after starting another class and getting more hours at work it dropped to a B by the end of the semester. I believe studying around 10 hours a week will get you an A. The combined extra credit can almost bring you up an entire letter grade.
This was a pretty hard A to keep. The class had a lot of assignments about 3-4 every week. There are 3 exams and a final, all exams require using a lockdown browser and mic. My best advice would be to type all of questions from past study modules and quizzes/homework before each exam, because you are allowed to use notes.
Good professor, make sure you come to class because her lectures really help connect to the reading in the book, she can be a tough grader but she is fair, not a super easy class, be ready to work for your grade.
Professor Perez is engaging and really cares about student understanding. The course is work-intensive but manageable if you stay on top of assignments. unstuck ai was a game-changer for exam prep. Overall, a challenging but rewarding class.
This professor gives about 4-5 assignments a week which can end up being time consuming but overall not super bad. At least once in the semester you have to attend a group meeting which is super easy as long as you participate. You can use notes on all your exams and your final in this class which helps a lot with your grade.
This was a difficult course due to the workload but there are several opportunities to receive a good grade. Three unit exams along with a final. Also, there's a required web conference. We used Connect for assignments and tests so some questions were worded strange. You can tell she cares about the subject and offers feedback if you email her.
Teacher is compassionate for what she teaches and tries to make the subject engaging. Has some classroom demonstrations to help reinforce and visualize the subject material. Lectures aren't dull and reflect the exam questions well. Easy to communicate with and always helping students with questions. Written assignments can take a bit to be graded.
