An awesome professor. Her class is not very hard at all but you come out having learned large amounts. Be wary of her tests, however. They are long and involved, but generally quite simple if you give the effort for it. Live by her study guides!
After failing ACCT 201 twice, I dreaded taking 202. However, Trumpfheller provides good lectures (altho long). Do the homework and you should have no problem on the lengthy exams. I passed the first time... with an A! For ACCT, Trumpfheller is the best.
Sheri is awesome. Do not take an accounting class from anyone else if you can possibly get into her class. She makes everything obvious and is totally willing to help with whatever you need to understand the material.
tests are 20 pages long and her lectures are longer boring to listen to but is fair at grades
She is the best at UCCS

Sheri is an amazing prof, wish I could have had her for all of my accounting classes
GREAT TEACHER!!!! ONE OF THE BEST PROFS I HAVE EVER HAD!!!
Sheri, is the one of the teachers in the COB. I have had her for 201 and now 202...this spring i am going to be taking 301 with her to an am excited that she is the teacher again.
Amazing prof, was very helpful whenever people had questions and didn't make them feel stupid. Homework was easy as long as you took the time to do it. The only difficult part was the exam (probably the longest one I have ever taken) but if you do the homework and follow the study guide, you will do fine.
She's great, and very helpful; very committed.
She's a great teacher!! Put in a little effort and you should do just fine. Tests are difficult, but a resource sheet is allowed. Also, she gives a project option in the semester that is cool.
She is really good!
She's very good at teaching the material but she's also extremely picky. The littlest stuff I did wrong got a lot of points taken off. Basically, she's a good teacher, but get ready to work hard.
Great teacher. Always willing to help when needed. Show up to class, keep good notes, and study study study for exams. note card allowed for exams! Do the project to replace the 2nd test! Usually better grade!! Don't be afraid to ask for help!!
The course overall is challenging but she is willing to slow down and help all students that are having problems with the material. Also, very helpful outside of the classroom with anything, just ask!
I didnt like her very much. she treated out class like a bunch of retards and taught material that i learned in 9th grade. She also is very opinionated about her lectures. For an average person she is ok but for me it didnt happen.
I've had Sheri for 2 years now. Her tests are excruciating but it's well worth all the hours you'll spend studying! She is by far my favorite prof at UCCS. Get to know her, she is always willing to help.
I had Sheri for 201, 202, 311, 301, & 302. She is one of the best profs at UCCS. Put some effort into the hw & start studying early for her exams & you'll be fine. The exams are always hard but you learn a lot & she usually curves depending on the class average. Definitely get to know her, she is very helpful and loves getting to know students!
Fantastic. She makes it extremly easy to understand and fun, I actually looked forward to class. Wonderful teacher, good and honest.
She is an amazing proff. You do have to study alot, but she is always in here office to help if needed. 201 is pretty easy, but 202 can be difficult at times.
Sheri is a good teacher. Sometimes it's hard to understand lectures, but reading the book before class helped me since she uses lots of accounting lingo. She knows her stuff, and is very willing to help. Good prof.
She is very nice. Really need to be in class to understand the material. Use the study guides, do the homework and prepare for lengthy exams. I can't wait to take her for 202 and any other class she teaches.
Sheri is an absolutely wonderful teacher! I wish there were more as involved and interested as she is. I absolutely recommend her to anyone with even the slightest interest in Accounting. She makes you work for your grade, but she offers all the help you need.
She is an amazing professor. Uses powerpoints but does a lot of in class exercises to help with hw. I thought exams are about the same hardness and length as 2010. She makes everyone participate but is very nice and laid back if you get it wrong or just didn't do it. She does a lot to help you pass and understand the material.
Excellent professor. Willing to work with you if you need it. Classes are long, but she helps you learn the material with in class exercises instead of a boring powerpoint-only session like a lot of teachers. Homework is optional but this makes the exams worth more. Her projects are also interesting and a great way to learn the material.
Very caring insructor. She is always willing to help as much as she can. I think that her lectures are intense but clear and organized.
Awesome teacher! You will learn tons but you'll need to work. She is an engaging and interesting teacher who likes class participation. Do the homework and read the chapter and it will help with weekly quiz's. She answers emails quickly and is extremely nice and helpful both inside and outside of class.
AWESOME!! Sherri knows her stuff and is fantastic at teaching it. Don't miss class, take notes ( she'll tip u off on whats on tests), do all your homework (there is lots) & you will do fine. It helps to tape her lectures too.
Sheri is harsh during class, but after class she is super nice and friendly. Acct 2020 is difficult, but she is a really good teacher. Easy to understand, clear and consistant.
Awful professor who doesn't help students succeed. Flies through class time, way too fast for most people. The information is so bulky that you leave class with a headache every day. Tests are ridiculously hard and are irrelevant to real accounting in the real world. Get out while you still can...your GPA will suffer if you don't.
She flies through the material during class. It's hard to keep up. Exams have WAY too much material on them, and she inevitably asks the hardest questions from the notes. Unless you have a photographic memory, I suggest taking this class with a different prof if you can. If not, then I'm sorry, but your GPA will suffer.
Highly recommend taking her for ANY accounting classes that you can! She really cares that you succeed and you learn a lot. Her classes are challenging but not impossible. She is one of the reasons I chose accounting as my major. If you want to learn and are willing to work hard this is the way to go!
I've had Sheri for a couple of accounting classes - I wish I could have had her for all of them! She is a tough prof - expect to study very hard if you want to do well on tests. Despite that, Sheri is very clear about explaining the material and is great about working through examples. It's a hard class, but you will learn a great deal!
Her tests are extremely difficult and she says she puts the in class examples on there, slightly true but then she adds a weird twist on the problem. Study hard and get face time with her or else she will not like you!
She pushes the limit on what she teaches in one class. If it's getting close to the end and she hasn't finished, she's more concerned about jamming material in than focusing on quality, which makes for even more work out of class, on top of the large homework load. She states that the homework is not a good study tool so it feels like busywork too.
This professor isn't a bad teacher overall, but she goes through material WAY too fast, and doesn't slow down, even if people have questions. She thinks everyone in the class is an accounting major, when the majority of students aren't. It's a very difficult class, and I didn't get a lot of support or help from her.
Sheri will prepare you for the REAL accounting world, not just boosting your GPA. Yes, it is hard - just like the real world. Sheri is more than willing to provide extra help if you ask for it. Tests are comprehensive. You do have to study hard to pass this class. College is supposed to prepare you for the real world and this class does!
Worst teacher ever! Her tests are incredibly hard. And there are quizzes every class. Tries to squeeze 3 chapters into one class, she goes through the material so fast you can never get anything out of class time. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.
This professor is awful. Doesn't know how to teach conceptually. Just teaches like a robot plugging through her own process that she essentially creates for each topic. Tests take up the entire 2.5 hours of class time and often times have questions that differ greatly from homework/in class examples. Probably couldn't cut it in the real world.
Very hard class, but if you show up, do the reading and homework, you can succeed in this class. She is very fair, covers the material well, and gives a generous curve on all exams!
Professor Trumpfheller is one of the best teachers I have had at UCCS. Her class is hard but if you put in the time you will do great. I would highly recommend her for anyone interested in accounting.
She is a good teacher, knows what she is talking about but her class is very tough. If you put the work in, you should be fine. Don't even think about skipping class since she gives a quizgraded assignment at the end of every class. Tests are long and cover a lot of material. Occasionally gives extra credit which is a big help.
Worst teacher at UCCS. She has no passion for teaching whatsoever. She failed over half the class with the first exam (not including me). She goes over too much material way too fast and she doesn't follow the book so its no help. And she constantly changes her office hours. Grading is all over the place. I would not recommend her to anyone!
Taken her class 3 times, first time i failed her first test and had to drop. second time it could not fit in my schedule so i had to drop. now taking it a third time to finally get my credit. very nice lady who will help you out if you ask.
Tough professor who moves through material at lightening pace.
Really good teacher. She obviously cares for her job and definitely has the proper skills for teaching accounting. She is very organized and very clear of her expectations from the get go.
She was a very nice lady and she actually helped you when you needed it. The bad thing was that she has very confusing lectures and I always had to teach my self the information after the lectures. She has a compilation final at the end of the year which sucks because she teaches you so much information over the year.
Intro to financial accounting: Trump is a Great prof! Definitely show up to every class. I didn't use the book very often, but you do need it. Had lots of quizzes, hw and tests so be prepared to go in every day of class. material isn't tough as long as you're not dumb. Would definitely take again. Highly recommended
If you read the chapter before class (like she tells you to), you'll have no problem with lectures. Otherwise, she moves fast. Very helpful when needed, and has plenty of extra credit opportunities.
Prof. T has been a great teacher from acct 2010 to acct 2020. Was the class hard yes, it is insane y easy to get behind if you slack off even just remotely. Reading the chapters is the biggest thing, it makes the already hard material easier and when she goes over it in class you can actually connect pieces together.
I had this prof for a business internship. She was really nice! She was kind and always answered emails quickly and professionally. Have not had her as a traditional professor, but would be willing to take her class if I needed the course. She read my paper and gave me great feedback for improvements. Always there and ready to go for our meetings.
Trumpfheller is a great professor. Her lectures are long, but always full of information. Skipping class makes it hard to stay on track though. I took 2010 with her as well as 2020, and if I were to continue with accounting she'd be at the top of my list for professors to take.
I took both ACCT 2010 and 2020 with her. Her lectures are pretty long because they are packed with information. Some students find reading the text before class to be really helpful, personally I did just as fine without reading. She is very helpful when you don't quite understand something.
Amazing teacher, but very hard grader.
She is a knowledgeable professor. Her intellect for accounting is very high and I think that is why I do not recommend her. She does not dumb down the material well and learning it can be quite a challenge. Not a professor to take if you are juggling a full time job with school. During class, she gives entirely too much info at lightening pace
I am not good at accounting so I have a harder time in this class, but she makes the material seem so much more difficult than it is so it made everything confusing. Also, her tests/quizzes are hard. Study!!!!!
This teacher is very tough but as an accounting major I really enjoyed her class. My fellow peers who are not fond of accounting were not fans of her teaching style and said she was too hard in class.
Trumpfheller expects you to know everything before she even teaches you it. Don't miss any assignments because she likely wont let you make it up. She is clearly very knowledgable about accounting, but she could careless about a students well being. People who were sick and couldn't test, had no choice because she is so strict with testing.
I took 3 classes with her. I loved her! I am so sad she is not available for any more accounting classes. I learned a lot from her. She was very understanding and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend her.
She makes accounting incredible!! She gives you absolutely everything you need to succeed!!
Great instructor, she knows the material very well and makes everything that needs to be studied clear.
I dont like her attitude toward class averages and grades. She mentions how the class average is low and acts like its totally fine. Whenever we were close to an exam she would say how many students went to her office hours and she would teach them there. The homework is useless for studying for tests, and you can only rely on a few ex for studying
I really liked Sheri as a person. She was caring, and considerate of my work/family life. However, the class was extremely hard. I passed all the homework, but the homework would be nothing like the tests and I failed every test including the final. Very difficult. I took it online, and there is a huge work load.
I hated ACCT1010 so I wasn't looking forward to this course. Prof. T was very helpful and always available outside of class and seemed genuinely interested in you understanding the material. Her tests are easy enough, as long as you study and keep good notes throughout her lectures.
I had 0 interest in this class but, needed it for my degree. Prof T was amazing. She gives you all of the resources you need and really cares about your success. I was not looking forward to this class, but she made it great. I would definitely recommend taking it online as you get to use all of your notes for exams. Take her if you need the class!
I am a regular student who makes A's and B's in other courses and this course was really hard for me. I do not know why a whole lot of people on here say she is a great professor because she is not mainly due to her attitude towards the class and exams don't match up to all the in class work at all. quizzes every class. Shes head of the department
Sheri is the worst professor that I have taken throughout my four years of college. She would be an okay teacher if you actually understand the material, but for anyone who doesn't understand what is going on I've got one thing to say to you, God's speed my friend. I advise you to NOT take her as you will most likely regret it and your entire life.
There needs to be something done about the accounting department at uccs. Trumpfeller is not a good instructor and makes it seem like we are professional accountants. The class average was a D and she thinks that its all fine and says good job. Shes is hardly available outside of class and is intimidating in her office. Recommend not to take.
Do not take her unless you want to be stressed out to the max. Horrible lectures its too bad.
I have no idea why there are so many bad reviews for her! She is an amazing teacher and her lectures are really in depth. She provides a packet that goes along with her lectures. You can use your packets, which are your "notes", on tests, making them easy. Her examples are very thorough. One of the best online classes I have taken.
Trumpfeller makes it seem like you are already professional accountants before taking her class. The class average on the tests were a D and she makes it seem like everyone did wonderful and just tells you good job. I would not recommend taking her unless this is the only class you are going to take during the semester.
Financial accounting was really difficult for me, so I wasn't looking forward to managerial. Professor T made it extremely easy to understand and really cares about her students. My boyfriend was even with me in financial but had a different professor for this class and ended with a C, take her if you can!! She really appreciates hard workers.
This is a tough professor. If you just need to pass, dont take her. If you want to learn accounting for professional reasons, this is the teacher to take. She can be tough but show that you care and she will work with you.
Sheri is one of the toughest professors I have ever had, even within the accounting department specifically. I have never been so stressed. She explains things well in class, though she covers a lot of information quickly. She says she is available outside of class, but is not, she has no compassion for personal issues, and will not explain things.
It's not even difficult, it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to pass. She gives back exam grades and over half the class fails and she says "it's normal". There is nothing "normal" about half of the class failing an exam, that usually means that a professor/instructor is not doing their job well. Long lectures to where it is hard to retain information.
Professor Trumpfheller is the worst professor I have ever had. She doesn't care about her students in any way. She is unwilling to help students inside or outside of class. When the whole class received a D and F average on an exam, she told us we did great and that was normal. She blocks access to the resources needed to study and be successful.
She's nice and sweet when you talk to her, but not when it comes to taking an exam. She gives a minimum of 30 questions on tests that must be completed within the class time, which is very unfair. She rushes teaching a chapter in class each week making it difficult to learn that chapter. If the class does poorly on a test, she does not care.
Half of the class fails the exams, and that is completely normal for her. The average grade on the midterm was a 65% AFTER a curve and somehow that's okay with her. Her lectures are so long it is hard to grasp everything. Overall, her exams are the worst part of the class. This class is absolutely TERRIBLE.
Took her class online, she assumes most students have been accountants for 30 years. Exams and quizzes are difficult and most averages are below 70%. I would not recommend
Terrible teacher. the exams are insanely hard and majority of students dont even understand whats going on in class. class lectures are insanely long and on your "breaks" she expects you to be doing work from class, which she will call people. expects students to understand and grasp concept immediately. Homework is ridiculously long!!
RUN! I passed the accounting prerequisite for this class with a 93% and that professor had a heavy accent/ super hard class. Sheri Trrumpfeller can speak fluent English and still makes 0 sense. As a female herself she is nicer to men than women. Superiority complex out the wazoo. If you take her, PRAY to Jesus & suck up constantly.
Homework 1 minute late? "I'll think about accepting it" That's it - that's the review.
I have always thought accounting was super fun in the past! But now that I have this professor, she makes it so hard to follow. She's really starting to ruin the love I have for accounting. Lectures are nothing like homework. Homework is nothing like tests. Reading is nothing like homework / tests. I genuinely can't follow along with her teaching.
Says homework is not a good study tool for tests and usually says not to even use it when studying, then assigns a lot of homework each week. So what's the point of doing the homework when it is nothing like the tests, yet takes up the majority of my time in regard to the class. Why practice the homework when it's useless for tests?
This is the worst professor I have ever taken. I suggest you find another professor or take this class elsewhere. She does not teach as her lectures are 6 years old. Her exams and quizzes do not match the homework. She does not give enough time for students to complete quizzes. Poor email response and will not explain wrong answers.
Set up of lessons are well thought out in terms of homework, lecture and in class assignments. Exams are multiple choice, exercises and short answer questions so it does take a lot of effort on exams even with the notecard she allows. She explains concepts very well.
Is one of those "grades aren't everything" teachers, so if you want your GPA to stay high don't take. Pre class assignments that are graded very harshly, and based on stuff you haven't learned yet. Assignments don't match book, book doesn't match exams. Study guides are basically useless, and tests don't match them.
Insanely rough. I should have listened to the previous reviews. Considers a D average "good" on exams. EXTREMELY difficult tests unless you spend an insane amount of time studying. Tests don't match what you learn in class, 50% "gotcha" questions. Great lectures, feel like I learned a ton, but my GPA has suffered for this class.
Trumpfheller is the best professor you're going to find for accounting. Although her exams are very tough, there's plenty of other work to keep your grade a float and she's very knowledgeable and passionate about accounting. She's very accessible outside of class and she'll answer any questions you have. Easily one of the best professors at UCCS.
Great teacher, but the tests are a lot harder than the homework. The tests are very heavy on multiple choice and knowing definitions. Lectures are great and her slides are blank so she can fill them in with you during class. You get a note card for each exam, but it's hard to know what's important to put on it. Willing to help with any question.
This professor is good in terms of intricacy with the material. She will lay everything out for you, but a majority of the time you'll have to teach yourself the concepts to really understand the material. The exams are terrible. I'll do great on everything else, but then exam scores come in and destroy my grade. Pass her exams and you'll be fine.
I love Professor Trumpfheller. With accounting, it can be pretty boring sometimes, but she makes the lectures interesting, includes real-life examples, and jokes around sometimes. When I read the textbook, I was confused about what to do, but she clearly explained all the steps in class and gave us practice to work on in class and at home.
Professor Trumpfheller is a good teacher but moves fast. It's easy to fall behind on understanding the content. I personally had a hard time with accounting and didn't pass any of the tests(they're difficult), but I did pass the class! I recommend never missing a class or else you WILL fall behind but if you study up and try, you'll be fine. 8/10
Lectures help you to clearly understand content in real-world scenarios. Makes class fun and enjoyable. In class exercises and homework give you practice to be prepared for the exams. Allowed a notecard for exams to help you remember the formulas and structure of accounting documents. Available to help outside of class.
Trumpfheller's lectures are engaging and provide real-world context. While the exams are challenging, the homework and in-class exercises prepare you well. Using unstuck ai alongside the course materials can be a game-changer for study prep.
