She is a great instructor. The way she teaches shows how passionate she is about the subject and she likes to have open discussions in class. She is very interesting and fun to listen to. Easy A. Just do your homework and the test reviews.
TAKE HER! Great teacher and is very funny. Attendance is not mandatory but you should go to the review sessions before the test. Easy A class if you do the online assignments and study for the test. TAKE HER.
If you're not a political science major and need the required course, TAKE HER CLASS. She is hilarious and is passionate about the subject. Attendance is not mandatory, the textbooks will only be used for the (easy) online assignments, and the reviews that she gives have EXACTLY what is going to be on the test. Easy A.
Sherri Mora is one of the most down to earth people at the university. She is a pure blessing for us BPA folks, since she is our go-to. If you haven't had the pleasure of talking with her, you should take some time and stop by her office. You'd be surprised what she can help you with. I didn't talk to her until I was a senior. What a regret.
Professor Mora is by far the best professor I have ever taken at Texas State. She is very knowledgeable and keeps the class entertaining. She's quite the comedian as well. 4 multiple choice exams with an optional final. Extra credit is given for each test. Definitely an easy A if you put forth some effort. I highly recommend Professor Mora!!!
AMAZING teacher!!!! Posts powerpoints on TRACS, nice lady, uses examples to help with learning material, the tests match the reviews, doesn't take attendance, wants her students to succeed, and doesn't just take test grades. She takes test grades and homework grades.
Mora is a great teacher and I enjoyed taking her class. But. her class is very time consuming. This class has alot of math and tests are split between two days. You'll have 3 tests, a final, quizzes, and 7 problem set hw's thatll take you 1-2 hours to complete. Mora tries to make it simple though and shes very nice and easy to talk to!
Mora is very easy, class before the test she gives you a review that's exactly the test. The connects aren't that great but they are completion grades so it was alright. Overall very easy if you study review she gives you. Final isn't mandatory if you're satisfied with your grade!
Mora is great professor! You only use your book when completing the online assignment, and there's even a book online. She gives you the answers to the study guide and many extra credit opportunities!
Mora is really clear and wants her students to succeed in the class. She gives many extra credit opportunities to help your grade. She also tells you everything you need to know for an exam, so it's an easy A.
Took her both for 2310 and 2320. Super easy. I only went to class on review days and test days. She basically gives you the answer before hand. Her textbooks are very expensive! She usually teaches in the morning so it's really boring, but she tries to make it fun
She's a GREAT professor. There are two books, a text book and a work book. I have never opened the text book but at each test you have to turn in some pages from the work book. The online homework is due on test days too buts it not hard at all just takes some time. TAKE HER!
Loved her class. Would take another class with her. Recommend to anyone to take her.
Professor Mora is the best professor at Texas State in my opinion. I took her 2310 class and absolutely loved it. She is really nice and her exam reviews are AMAZING. The class is really easy. Attendance isn't mandatory, but sometimes she gives extra credit on random days for being in class. Definitely take her class if you can.
Her class is based on power points that are always online and reviews that her TA gives you all the answers for. She also gives random extra credit. Her class was an easy A. If you attend class regularly or even just go to the review sessions you will be fine. A little bit of studying will get you an A. Her textbooks are a little pricey though.
Professor Mora's political science class is extremely easy. The reviews are almost identical to whats on the test. She assigns written and online homework that's due before the test. The written homework is very easy. The online homework is also easy, but it take FOREVER. You can turn your hw in late and she doesn't care about attendance.
Professor More is AWESOME! Her tests are easy A's if you go to the class period before the test. She is very clear and very helpful. Super funny!!! Lectures are interesting! Definitely take her if you get the chance!
If you want an easy A, take Mora. If you want to be challenged mentally, and get a good feel for how difficult future political science, or college courses in general can be, you will be left disappointed. Not on her though, it's hard to facilitate deep thought and discussion with a lecture hall of over 400.
Not only does she make politics easy to understand. She is the funniest woman and makes you laugh all throughout lecture. Shes very down to earth. She doesn't count attendance. TAKE HER- GREAT PROFESSOR!
She really tries to help. This is a required basic class about basic college skills. Show up, do the work and you'll be fine! The quizzes were common sense and the exact answer was word-for-word in the book.
awesome professor! take her!! you NEED the text book.
Mora is an easy professor. Her tests are the review. She goes off on tangents sometimes but they're entertaining. The online homework is loonngggg.
I absolutely loved taking her class! I would definitely take her again! She does give written and online homework but mostly for completion grades. Tests are very easy if you go to the review which is the class day before the test! Passed her class with an A! Great Professor!! Also doesnt care about attendance but you should def. go!
The easiest professor you will have in your college career take her if you can
Mora is such a great professor! Political science is such a boring subject to me, but she managed to make it just a little more interesting. It's also very easy to get an A. Just make sure you show up to exam reviews because she gives you the exact answers on the test. Attendance isn't mandatory but she does have extra credit days so just Show up!
Dr. Mora is hilarious. She makes the material seem interesting by making it funny. She gives homework that is really easy and the tests are easy as long as you do the review. You need to go to class because what she says in her lectures are on the test and can't be found by reading the book.
So great. Just go to the review day and write everything down, and then study the study guide and you'll do great. Her lectures are pretty interesting and she is very clear about what to expect and what you need to know. She also can be pretty funny.
She the bomb. I hate history and I did really well in her class. lectures are fun. she doesn't overload you with info and her test are like the review. homework is annoying but you know.. TAKE HER YOU WONT REGRET IT.
If you learn by lecture, this is the class to take. That's not a bad thing, she's very helpful with things. I myself am not a fan of PoliSci and it was a chore to go to class, but easy enough to make a B without trying hard.
She is totally clear about what she expects from you and as long as you do the homework and study guides you'll easily get an A. Tests aren't hard if you do the review, questions from reviews are exactly like the exam. Online homework, but its easy.
I do not like the class, but Prof. Mora is a really good teacher. She is easy to understand and so is the way the material is presented. She takes questions in class and during her office hours. She doesn't care if you skip class and the tests are pretty simple. However, she makes you buy two books and that's a bummer.
Take this class, super easy to pass. If you want an A, all you have to do is study before each test, and do the homework!
Her lectures are long, but interesting. She's incredibly knowledgable on the topics you discuss in class and was able to answer just about any question anyone had this semester. Her tests are incredibly easy if you go to the review sessions on the class days before each test. During these the answers to the reviews will be given.
Great professor, super nice. Class was easy and she gives plenty of extra credit. SHOW UP. She will add 1 point to your final grade, that saved me from having to take the final.
She is great and really inspires you to participate in politics. I had her at 8 am so it was pretty hard to stay focused and the lectures seemed long but any other time in the day probably won't feel as long.
Professor Mora is a spectacular professor. Her lectures are great and she wants to make sure everyone understands the subject. Online homework and written homework is a piece of cake, and it actually helps too. It's there to help boost your grade. She dismisses class early sometimes, which is nice. I would recommend to take her.
This class is an easy A, her test are based straight off of the review that she gives you at the beginning of each unit (answers on quilt), she even has a review day the day before the test where she gives you all the review answers. Attendance isn't mandatory (honestly no point in going to lecture) but if you do show up she gives extra credit.
While the lectures may be a bit long, she makes them interesting ad engaging. Take notes, because you'll definitely need them for the tests. The homework can be time consuming, but is generally very easy. Overall, this was a great class and Mora is an excellent professor.
Great professor who clearly is passionate about what she teaches. Very engaging. But be warned, two books are required for this course! She also does a day of review the class day before a test. Most of the semester was very easy, but the first test was very hard. She changed her testing methods and everything after that was easy.
Easy A. Just show up, take notes over anything she says, and take the test. There is a review the class day before the test and you basically get all the answers then. Homework may take more time than you want, but it's not bad.
Professor Mora was an excellent teacher that truly cares about what she is teaching. This class is an easy A as long as you put in the little effort it takes to study for her tests. I highly recommend her!
not a super hard class, but its easy if you show up and study the review. The reviews are basically the tests. theres extra credit for attendance
Easy class if you put in a little effort. Study the reviews, its almost just like the test.
This class was an easy A! Reviews are available word for word on Quizlet. Never attended class except for the review day and the test day and still came out with an A! Lectures are boring, but she is very nice. I cannot stress enough hoe easy this class is. Minimal effort required to pass. Homework via online and written textbooks (easy).
I had a love hate relationship with this class. I loved professor Mora and how she taught but I hated her TA, she was salty, and I hated the people that were in my class. Her tests are her study guides so go to class the day before tests and the day after for the final. Loved her lectures and she's hilarious. Would take her again.
This is definitely a freshman class. She teaches you like you are straight from high school and dumbs things down very much. It's not interesting at all. She's very knowledgeable about the course and sometimes makes things more complicated but going into unnecessary detail. You're better off memorizing quizlet. 4 tests, 1 dropped, study and pass.
The class is an easy A. Make sure to do your homework. She makes it easy to understand. The study guides are like the tests. Attendance is extra credit.
I loved this class so much! She is so funny and the lectures are never boring! She does not count it against you if you dont go to class but i always went because she made the subject so interesting. She gives a study guide so as long as you study that you are good!
Awesome professor! Her class was so interesting that it has actually made me consider working in public finance. She's super helpful and will do anything to help you understand the material!
Ms. SHerr Mora was an okay teacher in my opinion. The only reason I rank her poorly was because I had a really dificult time learning because of the class size. If anyone that learns better in a small class, please don't take sherri and it will save you from worrying to pass her class.
Great professor, easy class, drops lowest test grade, and gives lots of extra credit.
Professor Mora is a very good teacher and she knows what she is lecturing about and makes it easier for students to comprehend the material. She provides homework online and from the textbook but as long as you do the homework you will be prepared for her tests and pass the class.
This is the easiest class you could ever take, especially to satisfy this credit. I highly recommend Mora if you're not a posi major and just want to get the credit out of the way, you will be stress free. Her reviews are exactly like the test just study those and you'll never have to go to class.
Professor Mora is amazing! I hated going to class because I hate going to any class honestly but she made most of her lectures interesting. She cracks jokes a bit and always ask if anyone has any questions. I failed 2 test by not studying, but once I started studying the reviews, I kid you not they are exactly like the test. Ended up making an A
Attendance is optional and all of the answers to her reviews are on quizlet. Show up on test day with your homework and this class is an easy A.
She seemed to "dumb-down" the material, which was very helpful because the material isn't very interesting. Professor is very nice and funny, but her I.A. was not very pleasant. Tests are exactly like the reviews, which are done in class as well. Show up for the reviews, study, and you will definitely end with an A. Attendance is NOT mandatory.
she is so easy. you can find all of her reviews on quizlet and the test is exactly the review. she gives extra credit for so many different things! at least 2-5 points on every test. drops your lowest test/final. no attendance policy. (only annoying thing is you have to buy two different books. you dont even use them but theres no way around it.)
TAKE MORA!!! You literally just have to show up for review and test days and you will do fine! Reviews are just like the tests and she even drops your lowest test grade. Plus she's super funny and makes posi a little less painful.
Her study guides are always clear on what's on the exam. Only 4 tests all semester, all of them are very easy. She is very entertaining during her lectures with funny stories. Very sweet!
You get what you put into this class. Really easy regardless. Totally take her.
Very helpful and willing to work with you if you miss an assignment.
TAKE MORA!!! You literally just have to show up for review and test days and you will do fine! Reviews are just like the tests and she even drops your lowest test grade. The readings from the online Ebook are a bit of a pain, and rather expensive. But otherwise, a really easy class.
Mora is by far one of the easiest teachers I have ever taken. Attendance is not mandatory and all work is done online, outside of class. There are 4 tests and a final but she drops one of them and she gives you a review that is exactly like the test to study. Many extra credit as well. HIGHLY Recommend for an easy A.
TAKE MORA! She's so chill. Lectures are pretty interesting, even if you don't like posi. Do the review and you're golden for the exams. I finished mine in 15 mins and got 100s. Online bookwork and written assignments are super easy but time consuming. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Seriously, if you don't take her class, what are you doing?
She is a great professor, very funny and knowledgeable of her subject matter. She recognizes that American Government isn't the most exciting of subjects and she does what she can to make her lectures interesting. If you show up, take notes, do the homework and attend the exam reviews, you'll do well.
I am not a posi major so this course was perfect for me. Basically you just need to be there for review and exam days. Seriously, take her especially if you want to invest in some harder classes because this class won't stress you out. She gives quite a bit of extra credit and her lectures aren't really boring. Take her and you won't regret it
If you need a Poli Sci class PLEASE TAKE HER! I hate any class involving government but this was my favorite class! She's funny & although the material is boring she doesn't make it boring. The homework is easy, and the reviews are online. Take notes & add to the given review and you'll pass. She's amazing! I can't stress that enough!! :)
Love this Professor!! I hated POSI before this, but Mora made the material very easy to understand. I now know A LOT of important material about the Government and how it works! Glad I had her!
Professor Mora is a super easy poli sci teacher. If you want to get an A, you should probably pay attention in class, but if you do the homework, and the worksheets, you should easily get an A. Also, she gives out alot of extra credit so take advantage of that.
Got so much extra credit in this class, however, she does not get in all the info for the units in her lectures, so you do have to read chapters sometimes. Textbook also has like 20 - 50 questions per chapter, and an assessment for each unit--worst part of the class. Short answers also for each unit. Homework heavy.
Her reviews are almost exactly like the exams she gives, and the review answers can be easily found on Quizlet. Gives plenty of extra credit plus a whole class day dedicated to answering all the review sessions. However, this class is rather homework heavy because she requires you to purchase two textbooks. These two are where your hw is in.
Easy A. Extra credit for attendance, and a review for every test. I would study 2 hours before the exam and would make an A. Also, she gives extra credit before every exam to raise your score. One bad thing is the she gives a lot home work, but she gives you 3 weeks to do them.
Prof Mora gives interesting lectures. The class is really easy to pass, because their is extra credit on every test and easy homework completion grades.
i absolutely loved mora. her main goal was for everyone to pass the class and gave lots of extra credit. there was a lot of homework, but they were all easy 100s if you did them. the exams were identical to the reviews. our TA held sessions and give us all the answers to the review making it very easy to make an A on exams. easy class to make an A.
Tests are like the review. Heads up... online homework is a lot, it will take you more than a day or two.
Just do the online assignments, and show up to the review the day before the test, and you should have an Easy A. Didn't listen to a thing she was talking about the entire semester, and wound up making a B.
Professor Mora is a fantastic lecturer and always made sure to keep her lectures humorous. You don't get to know her very well since she just lectures, but she cares about her students. Her IA administers exams and leads review days. There's a lot of reading, but if you just manage your time wisely it shouldn't be a problem.
Great professor but the IA was the problem. I got A's on all my tests but the thing that got me was the written homework. The IA was in charge of grading those and didn't input the grades until after the final. I did all of the written hw but 0's were put in and she wouldn't listen to question about written hw so my grade went front an A to a C.
Prof Mora rocks!!!! Loved her class. She makes the lectures funny and interesting, and has side stories for things to make class go by quicker. Syllabus says attendance matters but she doesn't care, quizzes online are super easy. Tests are pretty easy if you study. 10/10
You will have online homework and quizzes that are easy. She requires a text book she wrote herself, so you will end up spending a lot of money on access codes and textbooks. There are written assignments that are due on test day. Tests are pretty easy- multiple choice. If you go to every class you will get extra points at the end of the semester.
Easiest class ever, she doesn't take attendance, all tests are on quizlet
Professor Mora is a great professor and very personable, but she's limited because the classes are so big. You're required to purchase the regular textbook, as well as her book, which isn't very fair and not cheap. Lots of homework, but it's easy and will bring your grade up if you do it. Just study and it should be an easy A.
Prof Mora was great! You can tell she loves what she talks about. She gives TONSS of homework! like tons. she doesn't come to class the day before the test or on test day her IA does that. didn't really care for her IA she had a "i don't care about this" attitude but this was her last semester.
This class was pretty easy. Mora did her job and honestly if you show up for the review and test days, you can easily get an A.
Professor Mora truly cares about all her students and wants them all to pass. Study the reviews since they are almost exactly like the test and youll do fine. 2 books are required to do homework which is overall 30% of your grade but they can both be online books. You don't have to show up the day bofore/after the test. Drops lowest test
test are exactly like reviews, and the answers to the review are given to you two days before the test. I only went to the review days and the test days and I am finishing with a 97 in the class. when I went to class at the beginning of the semester though she was interesting and engaging and I wish she taught all of my classes. good vibes asf
Please appreciate her lectures, they're priceless. Sherri has an offbeat charm to her that I loved about going to the class. Her attendance is written as mandatory in the syllabus, but she doesn't really care about it. Her tests aren't crazy difficult, but brushing up before can help you a lot.
Mora is one of the best teachers I have taken. She designed this class for an easy A. She is more homework heavy than other teachers but the book work she makes you do is created by her and correlates to her lectures so if you skip class you can just read the book. Her tests are easy, just study a quizlet or two.
Please take Mora, best professor you will ever have and you can make an A. Review is just like the exam so you should never have a problem passing. Online assignments are easy to, just make sure you do them early.
This is by far the easiest class I have taken in college so far. I only attended class on test days and did the online homework before the tests. It was a breeze. Take her for the easiest A you might ever get in college!
lots of homework but exams can be easily studied for on quizlet. Make sure to study for a good 2 hours to earn that A. I usually did the online hw in class because her lectures will be made into a review for the exam anyways
nice lady, extra credit, tests were online
Best professor I've had. I don't like political science and she made it fun. You don't have to show up to class just get the online homework done, and have the worksheets from the book done by test day. Tests are very easy and they are all on Quizlet. Easy easy A!!
Prof Mora is so fun to listen to and I've always had problems with social studies topics but she makes the class interesting and I love it!
Prof Mora is SO FUNNY. Great at her job. Would totally recommend to anyone taking political science classes.
Took a half online half on campus class and her lectures are the only ones I can actually stand this semester.
Test is literally just like the review all you have to do is look at the power points online or show up and listen. never had to study
Do not take if you already have a heavy course load or are trying to save money on books. The homework was taking up hours and hours of my weeks. Relatively easy work BUT you have work due in multiple sources and have to buy the textbook that she writes. Her lectures do not follow her PP's & it's very difficult to take notes. I had to drop it.
Professor Mora has a great sense of humor so it makes her class enjoyable. The only thing I HATED were the online questions from McGraw Hill because they were time consuming and don't help at all with the test. As long as you keep up with the work you should get an A.
If you ever get the chance to take Mora, DO IT! She is hilarious, extremely helpful, and wants all her students to succeed. She gives solid reviews and constantly makes sure everyone is learning the material. Mora is a one of the most phenomenal teacher here.
Never thought PoliSci could be fun, until I took her class. She cracks a lot of jokes to keep people entertained. She has online lessons which are always accessible to help you study, and her assessments/answers to test reviews are on quizlet. Just, beware of McGraw Hill. It has less to do with the tests, are basically there for extra work grades.
Professor Mora seemed really cool at first. But I'm not sure what happened after that. She barely showed up for class this semester so more than half of our physical classes were cancelled (the course I took was a hybrid course). Her study guides and readings are not very relevant to the exams. Take advantage of the Quilts for the course!
She is an amazing teacher, I did not like POSI going into her class and afterwards I realized I learned alot. She makes it really fun and she is really liberal and out there that is why I like her so much.
This was a super easy class and Mora makes her lectures interesting and she is hilarious. Lectures were kinda long but she knows what she is talking about and tries to make it interesting. Good amount of homework that is due on test days but it's not that hard. Tests are easy if you do study guide and attendance isn't mandatory; would def take her.
Dr. Mora gives a lot of work, but it is SO EASY! Everything expect online quizzes can be taken more than once. I gave very minimal effort and got a B, but if I had done the online hw, I would have gotten an A. She's really funny, and very nice. Totally reccomend!!
Honestly, this class was super easy for me. Her lectures were very boring but she often let us leave class early. And as long as you study the review she gives out, you'll definitely do good on the tests. Also, with the review most of the answers are already on quizlet and it's basically the same exact thing that'll be on the test.
fairly easy work, tests were all on quizlet
I made a 100 in this class so yeah take it. She is funny, her tests are based on the review which is on quizlet. Attendance in this class is for extra credit and she also offers a lot of extra credit optionS and still curves exam grades. When she speaks, you can tell she knows what is talking about. SHE IS AWESOME!
I honestly hardly went to class and still passed the class with an A. All reviews are on quizlet and are HELPFUL for exam. Attendance is for extra credit. Has a lot EC opportunities. She is also super funny! EASY A.
Great lecturer. Quizlet online. Pay close attention to class. Review only cover about 70% of test information, the rest I learned in class. Before the final was sitting at an 87 and she bumped my grade up to a 90 so I wouldn't have to take the final. Very witty and not afraid to speak her mind in class
Good teacher overall! Gives extra credit and most times the lecture ends early
1 starred because she forces you to buy her book new to take her class, it has tear out assignments in it so you cannot buy a used copy. This is a greedy, disgusting practice and I will not stand by it, it needs to go away.
Mora is funny and the lectures were not horrible. You have to do McGraw Hill reading questions and quizzes which take FOREVER and really suck. Other than that there are easy worksheet question you turn in on test day. I took a hybrid class so 1/2 was online. Super easy if you put forth a little effort.
Mora is hands down the best. She's funny, smart, and a leniant professor. Anyone would enjoy this course.
When I took this class, Mora had to miss quite a few days and we were left with her prerecorded online lectures which made the class really hard to understand. She's good about answering questions in class, but that tends to make class last longer because she can get lost on a tangent. Not awful, but I didn't love her. All homework/quizzes online.
Mora is a pretty cool person and her class was great. She's very entertaining in her lectures, she offers lots of extra credit, she normally ends lectures early, everything is on quizlet, and attendance isn't mandatory (it's extra credit). But I do recommend going to class because she will talk about things the test reviews don't cover.
ended this class with a 108... so much extra credit. attendance isn't mandatory, exams exactly like the review. You will not go wrong with Mora. I loved her, lectures were always enjoyable
Most of her tests are on quizlet. The online part of the hybrid class can be googled easily. Very sweet lady during her office hours and really cares about her students and what she teaches.
Honestly if you do all the online assignments that will balance out your test grades if you don't do so well on them. The final is optional if you take all 4 test. Use Quizlet, because it's just like the tests. She gives you opportunity to do extra credit.
ok i literally memorize the review word for word then on the test there will be random stuff we never learned! i dont know how to study for these tests bc THEY ARE NOT LIKE THE REVIEW. tons of connect work but thats normal. there are so many grades hopefully it will balance out bad test scores, attendance is extra credit, drops lowest test score
Trust me you will pass no problem.
Super easy. Great professor. I took a hybrid class and as long as you keep up with the online hw you'll be fine. I rarely ever went to class. All of the tests are on quizlet
This class has a ton of homework. You have connect, tracs, and Kendall hunt assignments as well as tracs quizzes and debriefs and then 4 tests. The final is optional and replaces your lowest test grade but it is cumulative. I survived because I had an amazing GroupMe.
I missed a lot of class due to the bomb threats in the building. She is a good teacher but when I was there I couldn't hear her very well. the textbook is one that she wrote and you will be using connect to do homework. The tests are the only grades you get. Her TA'S do all of the gradings.
she is the best ever! took the hybrid class and it was super easy. she does have a lot of connect assignments but you can get a 100 on all of them, most answers for connect quiz if not all are on quizlet and she even said with how everything balances you can fail all her test and still pass.
Super easy professor! Go to class and you wont even have to study for tests, she lectures very straight forward and doesnt include anything new dont need to know for tests. She is also very funny and shares lots of funny stories
TAKE HER! TAKE HER! TAKE HER! I took a hybrid course, didn't even go to her lectures and made an A. Use the quizlet under Mickey Mouse (her tests are exactly that) Drops lowest exam, doesn't care about attendance. Just do the busy work she gives you and study the quizlet and her review :) SUPER EASY
Very good professor! She covers a lot of material during class time but her lectures are interesting and not too hard to keep up with as long as you pay attention. She gives extra credit and as long as you study youll do great on the tests!
If you do the assignments given it is an easy A. The assignments take some time but they are given as completion. You have a test about once a month but it's easier to study for each one that way plus there are extra credit opportunities for each test.
I took her hybrid class and it was the best decision ever. Her tests are super easy, just do the review and study it a little. There is a reasonable amount of homework but its all due the day of the test and you have plenty of time complete it. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities and is hilarious.
Talks very fast.
Really easy, if you go to class, she gives out exam answers.
Mora is the best professor here! She genuinely cares about her students, makes lectures fun, and even gives out extra credit! If you take her you will not regret it!
I ended up with an A in the class because the test are easy as long as you study. As far as work its a Hybrid class so make sure to not miss the deadline for online work. In all loved this class she is so knowledgeable and would definitely take her again if I had the chance .
Dr. Mora made this class interesting as she's passionate about politics. While I don't agree with having to purchase Two books, I can see why it was beneficial. Be prepared to read, do online hw, and do paper hw as well. The tests are no walk in the park, she will challenge you, but her grading is fair. I definitely would recommend her.
Good teacher, just do the homework with socratic and that's an easy 100, the tests are the reviews so you can't really fail this class.
All the info you need for the test, she will outline in a PowerPoint but say the specifics during lectures. Shes hilarious and brutally honest. Her personality made me enjoy coming to her class.
My easiest course during my first semester at TXST. She keeps the lectures interesting, but if you have at least half a brain, you don't really need to go. Tests and homework due on test dates makes up the entire grade & exact copies of her tests are on quizlet. Take her if you can.
cont. attendance youre supposed to get an extra point. I had an 87. I wasnt given the point because my grade wasnt on the cusp. I had to get a 93 on the final to get an A. I do not know what I got, but I ended up being .2 points away from an A. After the final I was on the cusp. If i was given the point I wouldve had an A and a 4.0. Library closed.
Take this class hybrid. In class lecture one day a week and online the other. Easiest class I took all freshman year. Showed up the first day of class and then she said attendance wasn't mandatory and only showed up test days the rest of the year. Super easy class as long as you stay up to date online.
so amazing. lets class out early almost every day. very very detailed test reviews if you know what i mean. lots of homework but its worth it for how awsome she is. shes so funny and doesnt care what she says, no filter. only thing i didnt like about this class was the TA. easy A, just do your homework, do the extra credit, and study the reviews
Needed two textbooks, I took the hybrid class so half the lectures were online and you needed to take a quiz after viewing the lecture.
I loved Mora! She's super funny and engaging. She tells you exactly what you need to know for the exams (four exams and she drops the lowest one). The online assignments were a bit tedious but they're easy and totally doable.
Professor Mora is a very intelligent professor. Her understanding of the political system is very admirable and encouraging. I learned so much in this class & I wish I could take her for every political science class I need to take! If you use quizlet, this class shouldn't be a challenge at all
There was a lot of homework and a lot of busy work.
I took her hybrid class, each online lecture had a quiz at the end so take notes. had 4 exams, not including the final. the final was optional or it could be used to replace your lowest test grade. lectures where kind of boring. lets you use computers and if you want to leave early let her know in advanced. assigned alot of online homework
I would recommend Professor Mora to anyone, especially freshmen. Her lectures are great and she did a good job at keeping them upbeat and interesting. Her tests are right from the review, the final isn't mandatory but replaces a low test grade.
Boring lectures along with tons of tedious online busy work. The only plus is that the multiple online assignments provide a lot of padding to the grade, so if you can brunt through it it's an easy A. There's also plenty of quizlets online.
Take her class!!! Test questions mostly come from review and quizlets. She's a great lecturer and is never boring. I took the hybrid class and loved it.
Mora was a good professor but I took the hybrid class and she canceled probably half the time. She was funny and really nice. Everything on her tests were on Quizlet. Super easy A if you turn everything in.
EASIEST class with the best professor at texas state. all of her test are on quizlet. easy A
Boring lectures, canceled many times. TWO textbooks, about $75 each!! use Socratic for connect hw, but still takes a long time to do it. Written HW from the other book you have to buy to print the hw (you have to have your own book) 4 test and the final, study the quizlets. There are quizzes for all the online lessons.
Hybrid. She is the absolute best political science teacher you will have. All homework is due on wednesday you have plenty of time unless a test is on monday then everything is due on monday. Test are exactly word for word the quizlets so you cant fail unless you even attempt to try. easy A, her TA's can be rude so you have to be patient with them.
She is honestly great. Her class is a hybrid class and it was really simple. it's easy to find quizlets for her tests that are exactly alike. attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss more than 10 classes you will fail the class. Homework was easy but there is a lot so it was super tedious. the class is also expensive because it is a hybrid.
She was such an amazing lady and the class was super easy as long as you payed attention in class!
She literally said on the first day I don't care if you're here if you pass the test. I went to class maybe 3 times and got a solid A because every test is WORD FOR WORD on quizlet. It was a hybrid class so you had a quick assignment online once a week but I literally did NOTHING for this class and got an A.
Hybrid course. She had so many components to this course, it was giving me anxiety. You definitely have to stay organized or have a schedule to get everything done. 1. Exams 2. Online Quizzes 3. Written homework 4. Long Readings 5. 25-45 online questions about the readings! Too much for me, but I still passed. She was a good teacher.
Honestly one of the easiest classes i took. If you just go over the study guide she provides you you're golden. She does go a little fast in her lectures, but you can always ask her to repeat anything you missed. Very passionate about political science so it makes it interesting to learn about it.
Boring lectures. In-person part often cancelled. Lectures don't appear on the test. Spent 45 minutes discussing culture, then advocating for votes on State Constitution amendments. 90 minute class dismissed immediately after. Got 92 on pretest, but 74 on actual text. Class avg was 70. Inflates grades via busy work & heavily distro'd scale.
Heads up... the third exam covers 6! chapters. We met for class three times for a total of about 2.5 hours. And the online video lectures, like an ABC 20/20 piece by John Stossel were kinda related by not really testable.
Overall, It was pretty easy as long as you keep up with the work. She does give a lot of online assignments and outside of class work that is due on test days so that it gives you extra grades which extremely helps. Her tests were fairly easy and she has great lectures. If i was able to take her again I totally would. Also gives extra credit.
Let's review the semester: Dates 26 Aug - 9 Dec. Meets only on Mondays. Five tests, including final. No material on test days. One holiday, cancelled 3 times. Sixteen possible sessions. Lessons taught on 9 of them. Test 1 covers 4 chapters, T2 3, T3 6, T4 8 and is just before finals. Why is it ordered this way? Doesn't help class.
listen, she's not a bad teacher! she obviously knows what she is talking about when it comes to political science. there is literally so much outside work to do it probably takes 8 hours to do just one topic and there are several reviews, assessment and quizzes to do also. this course makes it very difficult to manage all of the assignments.
I took her hybrid course. The lectures are boring and attendance doesnt matter as long as your happy with your grade. The final exam is optional. She gives extra credit on most tests. There was just a lot of busy work that was unnecessary. It was a pretty easy class to pass as long as you put some effort into it.
Lectures were hard to follow. Got one point for good attendance so I wouldnt be too worried about being there every time.. Lots of extra credit opportunities though.
She is an amazing professor, she seems very passionate about politics and does an amazing job communicating the learning material. She prepares the students for the test.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I took her based on reviews but she changed her exams and they are nothing about what you learn in lecture/online. Im an A student but the amount of busy work given is unreasonable, but its also easy. 4 exams + the final(which is no longer optional). Super nice professor but hard exams with no correlation. Books are a must!
Aslong as you get 100's on the work and get 80's or higher on the exams you should get an A. Probably one of the worst professors though. She is extremely boring during her lectures and she doesn't give extra credit even though practically everyone is struggling. Doesn't reply to emails either which sucks.
I took this class as a hybrid and I have never had a class use 12 differnt websites for assigning work and for books and everything else. Extremly confusing on what is due and the due dates. She forces Si sessions 3 times a week and if you cant go because of a job or something haha sucks no test review for you. and lectures were awful
Wow is all I can say. I took her based on reviews and I regret it so much! We had to buy 2 textbooks (1 on Connect and a workbook she wrote.) SO MUCH HOMEWORK. If you don't attend an SI session, you don't get a review for the test. I honestly felt like I was set up to fail. I only attended 2 lectures because I was so bored and everything was online
She has life's problems all about an eye for and eye concept. No rules apply to her. Lives in denial should not even have a degree in kindergarten picture painting. Learn what is right and wrong. Another professor that just stole your parents money for the U
Dr. Mora does give you a test review, but the SI sessions go over the answers. People are mad because theyre not getting everything handed to them when Dr. Mora preaches equal academic opportunity for her students. The assignments are easy and a completion grade, if you go to office hours youll get 100s on your tests.
do not take this class!!!!!LOTS of reading from two different online textbooks and a ton of online assignments and difficult quizzes. QUIZLET CANT EVEN HELP YOU! She gives study guides but they don't help you AT ALL! she can be very sarcastic and rude! Her tests are hard you're gonna have to study everything you can!
the class itself wasn't hard, but assignments were spread out confusingly. 2 textbooks, 1 that she wrote, with writing assignments mixed in and no feedback from instructor. study guides information was never on any test. Too expensive of a class for me to never have actually learned anything from the instructor.
She's hilarious, those who said otherwise are probably just sensitive. Yes U will need 2 textbooks but as long as you stay on top of the weekly assignments you'll do fine. Use quizlet to help you out and she also gives alot of hints. You dont need to go to class to pass but you will to go to make an A and plus it is funny and interesting anyway
I never got to speak to Mora, only the IA, but the class was extremely easy
I enjoyed Professor Mora. Her powerpoints are very minimal so it was important to go to get all of the information. She required us to buy her book, which was pretty expensive, and we had to rip a few pages out so there is no way to resell.
Mainly worked with her co-instructor, Amy Fanguy-White, and graduate student, John Flores, who were awesome. Always made an effort to help you with whatever you need, super nice. Lots of extra credit opportunities! Test and quizzes slightly harder with the questions coming from the textbook. Keep up with assignments and you'll get an A!
Professor Mora is one of the best teachers I have had at Texas State. Her classes are lecture based but her lectures are very clear and filled with the key information you need to pass. Her exam reviews are wonderful and tell you exactly what you need to know before your exam. 10/10 teacher highly recommend!
This class was super easy. She gave lots of busy work but none of it was hard and you basically got a 100 just for turning it in. Her co-instructor gives a review lecture before the test and basically gives you all the answers. Almost all test answers are on quizlet also. Just do the busy work and go to the review lecture and you'll get an easy A.
complete the weekly assignments and show up the the test reviews and you will make an A
Overall good, doesnt give hard assignments.
I rarely attended this class because most of it was common knowledge. There would be a class before every test that she would give us a review. It was basically all the answers to the test for us to study. so clutch. The only thing is dont miss the weekly discussion, theyre not even hard but they dont show up on your to-do list.
I took the hybrid course for this class and I rarely attended the lectures. There would be a class before every test that she would give us a review. It was basically all the answers to the test for us to study. The discussion posts were the way that she took attendance each week so if you did those and did well on the tests then you'll get an A.
TA carried the class. She is amazing. Practically gave answers to test the day before with review. only thing i went to class was for review day and got the answers for the test. passed with an A. Easy if you stay on top of work from the textbooks
There are modules due every exam, but can be done throughout the week and exams are very easy. The TA is very helpful, go to them if you have any concerns or questions. There are weekly discussions that are very easy to forget about so keep up with them. If you want an A, take this class.
Dr. Sherri Mora is a good professor, some people just don't like how much material is required of us to study/work on. She knows what she is talking about and always goes into depth if you're having trouble understanding something. Definitely attend lectures AND do homework to pass. It isn't a difficult class if you try.
Dr. Mora is an okay professor. I actually learned more from (and preferred) her co-instructor Amy White's teachings! Mrs. White was exceptional and lively; unfortunately, she is moving onto the Air Force so Dr. Mora will be having another co-instructor. Dr. Mora has a bossy/dominating demeanor which I disliked. She has some biases in her teachings.
Took a hybrid so went in person once a week for discussion, and attendance was mandatory and graded. Super easy class, had fun listening to her lectures. I loved her attitude, shes very knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor too. Flexible class, every unit had 1 due date. This class is too easy to fail, if you do I feel sorry for you lol
The homework assignments are usually very easy but long and a lot of reading. the tests and homework was online so its an easy A.
Hybrid- I liked her a lot but her lectures did not provide any additional information so you could read the textbook and pass just fine. Only 4 tests, and a lot of homework in between but pretty much everything is completion except tests and assessments. Buy the textbook and everything is through McGraw Hill so if you do the work youll pass.
Professor Mora is a great teacher, it was a hybrid class this year so her in person lectures were basically class discussions and all the note taking is done from video lectures. There is a LOT of homework but its all an easy A to boost your grade if you don't do well on a test. Lowest test grade is also replaced by the final which is optional
Really nice, lectures are more like debating between students, however, there is a lot of homework and it was easy to fall behind, but she definitely works with you in case that happens. Overall, less stressful than most classes and is super interested in what students think.
Very nice and active with class
Take her best teacher Ive had here. This school has some of the worst teachers Ive ever had . She isnt one of them though take her !!! A lot of assignments but tea an easy A.
Attendance is mandatory, but the lectures only serve as open-room discussions and basic course material discussions. Two textbooks are required and WILL be used for homework, quizzes, and tests. Tests are based on textbook, not lectures. There is a lot of homework, but plenty of time is given to complete it. I took the partial-online course.
really cool and funny professor. her lectures are interesting and fun. graded by very few assignments and exams
Dr. Mora is an alright professor. Her lectures don't really cover anything that is going to be on the exam. The exam is heavily influenced by the readings in the textbook (specifically McGraw Hill). Her class is heavy on homework, but it's not too bad if you stay on top of it. She sometimes takes up to 3 weeks to release test grades.
You have to pay $90 for a textbook that she wrote. I spent about 6-8 hours a week doing the assignments and the tests were hard and very detailed. But if you do the assignments, the quizzes after them are easy 100's and there are a lot of them which helped my grade. You'll be reading a lot and taking a ton of notes
She assigns a lot of homework. Go to class and take notes and it will be easy. Exams are hard, but you can still pass the class as long as you make sure that you do the homework. She is a great teacher, but she might seem absent because she handles several different classes so she does take long to reply to emails and post grades.
Such a confusing class, did not learn anything. The online textbook is a nightmare to navigate and the "lecture" material was full of typos and at one point this professor was so lazy that she linked to a required reading article that was word for word what was written in her "lecture" material. Gross that I paid for this.
Dr.Mora is a nice lady, but she gets a bit snippy when people ask about grades on tests. lectures are boring, moves on quickly. Record her lectures for later. Tests are relatively easy, but be ready for a few random curveballs. It's not a hard class, but the McGraw Hill material takes forever & you have to buy 2 textbooks. One of which is her own.
Gives all the resources you may need throughout the entire topic. Easy to get ahead in this class and offers extra credit. Listens to students feedback and changed her test review to better fit our preferences. Tells us in lectures what may be on tests and offers lots of help to students.
Her lectures are fairly interesting and she tries to engage with the class as much as possible which keeps it interesting. While there is a lot of homework it is through McGraw Hill, so it is graded on completion. Tests are pretty difficult and she has a strict grading system, however they are MCQ based. Put in the work and you'll be fine.
If you want to do well in posi DO NOT TAKE HER! She is a terrible instructor. The test reviews are NOTHING like the test. She posts lecture videos and I have watched all of them and attended all the lectures yet there are still test questions she NEVER went over or discussed Not to mention the test review is given to you two days before the exam.
I don't understand how she has a good review. I bet she knows what she's teaching but she can't teach it. Test reviews don't match up with the test. It feels like her lectures don't match the test well either. The tests are hard and the questions are confusing and sometimes silly trick questions. Plus she blamed her class for a 50 average
The lectures don't match up with the test. Two textbooks(one she wrote for $100+). Test reviews are weird and have open-ended questions also. Class gets blamed for a low average, saying they don't understand the exceptions of college classes
do NOT TAKE HER. She literally yelled at the class for failing the test that she gave us a review for that wasn't even helpful. She literally needs to be fired, She cannot teach for the life of her not to mention the TI was also rude and not helpful. she goes down a rabbit hole of stuff that's not important to the test during lectures.
This class is simply "busy work". You do most of the readings outside of class. Lecture is light, as the class given that it is a hybrid course. Attendance is not weighted. Focus on test. Most of your grade is completion honestly. Study sessions and reviews provided. Dr. Mora is informative yet not completely hands on. JUST DO THE WORK, NO STRESS!
She's just average. Her lectures do not cover what ends up being on the test a lot of the time. Class gets blamed for low scores, but she and her TA do not release quality study guides. She does offer extra credit, but do not rely on that to bump your grade up very much. You also have to buy a textbook written by her that is about 90 dollars.
She was average, lectures & study guides don't end up being like the tests. She blames the class for low grades saying basically that she's never had grades as low as we had. She does give extra credit and she is sweet. You can miss it because lecture videos are online too. Class is pretty average.
This class is hard and this professor makes it harder. The test are very different from the reviews and each homework assignment takes and hour each and we get about 4 per week. Its a lot of work in the class known to be impossible to get an A in. Her lectures are interesting to an extent but its easy to fall asleep to. Average professor.
One of my most stressful classes. You have to buy a 100 dollar textbook she wrote, that literally provides nothing. Exams are every 4 weeks, and none of the course material or study guides prepare you for it. Your experience COMPLETELY relies on who your TA is bc mora doesn't really do anything. God forbid you have Grace as your TA.
The professor is amazing at lectures, but personally I thought her and the graduate assistant were incredibly rude after tests. They were condescending and blamed the class for low grades. Cancelling lectures before test and many textbook assignments left me disengaged. Hopefully when taking class you dont get Grace as your graduate assistant.
Dr. Mora is a very funny professor, and definitely knows what she is talking about, however her lectures would be hard to get anything from some times because she would get off topic. On the other hand, she heavily relies on her GAs to do everything, so your grade relies on who your GA is.
I wanted to like this class, but it wasn't the greatest. Only met once a week, which made it more difficult in my opinion. Lectures were okay. Expensive textbook. Lots of homework, but it is doable. Allowed to turn in late work up until the last day of class. Extra Credit available for every test. SUPER rude GA- condescending.
I really enjoyed Sherri's class! I am absolutely awful at political science but after this course, I feel like I understand it a little more. There are lots of extra credit opportunities, but you do need to study for the exams as it is without notes (this was the hardest part in my opinion). Overall great course!
Entertaining and engaging professor, cares about the material and is very helpful with work or any questions you may have.
Dr. Mora has lots of extra credit available and curves some tests at the end if no one gets 100. There was short answer questions assigned with the textbook reading but all the other homework was multiple choice and pretty easy.
She does not teach a single portion of this class she stands up there says a few things and then when the test comes none of what she said is on the test. The only good thing about this class is the full load of work she gives you to outweigh the test grades
I did well in this class, the only reason I got a b was because I tanked my last exam because i chose not to study. If you do the homework and listen to her lectures, the class is not difficult.
TAKE THIS CLASS! Lectures aren't as helpful, but she gives extra credit throughout the semester. The tests are identical to the reviews. Majority of assignments come from mcgraw hill and a SAR written assignment from her textbook (buy since its extra credit anyways). Tbh what I learned from APUSH in HS carried my exam grades.
Dr. Mora is a good professor. Tests were easy As if you did the reviews and extra credit, and the homework is easy to manage if you allocate time each week to do them. I will say the extra textbook you are required to purchase felt unnecessary, and most emails you write to her will get redirected to her graduate assistant.
I would take this professor again; however, she relies heavily on her GA. She gives a lot of extra credit and opportunities to submit late work. Her reviews are exactly like the test. If you are going to do any studying do the review and you will pass. The other assignments are easy but time-consuming. Take the extra credit opportunities!
Never got an A on a test but ended with an A+, the test average was very low for my class so lots of extra credit was given. Easy to get an A in this class if you complete the assignments show up and complete the study guide for each test.
I struggles in this class but I think it was just me. The only thing I didn't like is that some of the HW took literally hours to do. But all the work was online so it was convenient. And she offered extra credit for each unit. She gives out study guides but most of the questions were not even close to what is on the test.
She's pretty cool and easy. Her lectures are very boring and kinda long. Her assignments are super easy but take forever to complete. Make sure you study and use Quizlet for your exams.
I really like Professor Mora she is very kind and understanding and does give extra credit, but her tests are very difficult and her lectures don't go over what's on the test that much. The average for tests in my class was a 57. Although she does round your final grade, she rounded my 78 to an 80 and because of that I made Dean's List. Love her fr
Overall the class is not bad as long as you do the homework. Watching her lecture videos also help, I sometimes thought they were more useful than the actual lectures. Make sure to do the study guide because a lot of the test reflects the information on the study guide. Her assistant grace is kind of rude but armando was great!
The textbook is very expensive and requires. Professor grades harshly.
Assignments/homeworks are minimal and easy grades but the tests are very hard. Averages are always 50s/60s. She posts helpful lecture videos online. Always look over the study guides cause they reflect the tests pretty well. Sometimes theres info on study guide + test she never previously mentioned. Your goal grade is definitely do-able.
Makes you purchase a 100 dollar text book to answer questions that could've been sent as a 1 page pdf. Claims she doesn't make money on the textbook despite being the author. I am a 4.0 Engineering senior and this is randomly one of the most difficult courses i've taken in college, due to the complete disconnect between content and test material.
There's two textbooks , one that is covered by your tuition and the other you 'have' to pay out of pocket for. The one you pay for is on the pricier side. I know people who did just fine in the course without purchasing it though. Other than that, the class wasn't difficult. Just stay on top of assignments and take advantage of her STUDY GUIDES!
She is an okay professor but be prepared to go to all of her classes. Her tests and study guides are confusing
Professor Mora is a good teacher but tends to talk too fast and get ahead of herself. Although very intelligent on her subject I found it difficult to follow. Nevertheless, she is a very easy grader with many opportunities for EC. The course is easy and understandable and the SI meetings help a lot. Very EASY course to pass.
I found that Professor Mora's lectures were disorganized and all over the place. There's a textbook and she expects you to read a lot from the textbook, on top of that there are questions from the textbook info that are in the test. She would often go on tangents and as a result stray away from her main point and I found that to be frustrating.
no good very bad
Her lectures kind of drag but they are fine. A lot of McGraw Hill online homework along with a pretty worthless $100 textbook that you need for insanely easy writing assignments. Required SI sessions are kind of annoying but they do help. Tests are about half the grade and quite difficult, fill out the study guide and review it a lot to do good.
Rude and condescending. I had to miss a test since my brother was in the hospital and she wouldn't allow me to make it up since she said she would drop a test, SHE DID NOT. Another time she yelled at these students for leaving class early and yelled at the rest of us saying we had to behave because she wasn't feeling well.
She's not a good lecturer and I struggle to keep up in class. Have unnecessary SI sessions in order to pass her class. She barely goes through the study guide well through class and had to go to SLAC every time for exams. I would definitely not recommend her 2/10 never again, hopefully, I pass her class though.
I only did well in this class bc of prior knowledge of poli sci. I heard many failed her exams and she would blame the students and not her teaching skills. Her textbook was needed only 4 times, essentially a way for her to take $100 straight from ur pockets. Test reviews were helpful for exams but as mentioned many failed.
I took the hybrid version of this class. Her Canvas is super well laid out and has all the resources and material laid out very clearly. Her lectures are engaging and easy to pay attention to. There is a lot of McGraw-Hill assignments/Mandatory SI sessions. If you keep on top of it though its a well taught course. I would recommend Dr.Mora.
A lot of people had a hard time with this class. Exams are pretty hard (average was around 65%). Only reason i did well was because of previous knowledge. Do the extra-credit really easy way to boost your grade, if you legitimately try in this class and study, you will do fine. Gives a bunch of exam questions and answers during lecture.
POSI is a boring subject but Professor Mora managed to make it interesting. The reading assignments are brutal, but as long as you do them you get full credit. The class size is a lot, but if you can get over that I would recommend this class to anyone.
If you take notes, you will pass with flying colors; she even announces when she is answering a test question, so you make sure to write it down. Extra credit is offered with every test, and she is very lenient on late submissions. The only negative is that she isn't super quick when answering emails, but she has TA's, so email them instead.
Not too hard of a class if you show up to class she tells you key aspects to remember for the test. Extra credit available for all of the tests as well
Although attendance is not explicitly mandatory, it will benefit you when you take the exams (which are only in-person and in paper). To get a good grade, you have to study at least somewhat for tests. Has an assistant that replies to students for her. She, directly, is hard to reach. Still, easier than other POSI classes, I would reccomend.
Her class was relatively easy, but test heavy and her tests were not at all connected to her lectures. I had a hybrid class and spent rougly 12 hours a week reading the text book doing assignments and studying just to get b's and c's on all her tests. she often times goes into tangents about her own beliefs and makes it confusing.
Starting with this Mora's lectures are really boring and sometimes you have to force yourself to listen, but the content of the lecture is usually really good. The outside of work stuff is in McGraw so be ready for that as it can be a lot sometimes and annoying. SI sessions seem to be terrible but Id say are actually helpful in the end.
If you go to class, and at least attempt the reviews (which she also goes over in class) there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A. She makes lectures pretty straightforward, not the most interesting lectures but thats the subject. Gives soo much extra credit. Luv her
The lectures were monotonous and she would talk way too fast to take notes. SI review sessions are part of your grade and did not help me. There were a lot of online assignments due every 3-4 weeks but they were manageable as long as you don't procrastinate them. She is lenient with deadlines/will give extensions and gives a lot of extra credit.
Straightforward class, has clear criteria, and is very easy if you complete your work on time, she is very understanding and wants her students to succeed. Weekly McGraw-Hill is the only homework along with one quiz and written assignment per topic that go along with the test, with a total of four in the semester. Extra credit and study guides.
This course moved extremely fast content-wise and there was a lot of material that you were required to know on the tests. I wouldn't say it was hard, there was just a lot to know. That being said, she truly wanted to see you succeed; there is tons of extra credit, she's lenient on deadlines, etc. I would take her again.
Mora's course moves at a brisk pace, but with extra credit, leniency on deadlines, and helpful review sessions, it's manageable. Unstuckstudy AI proved invaluable for exam prep. The lectures are dry, but attending is key to understanding the material.
She bases most of tests on the study guides, uses mcgraw hill but only every 2-3 weeks, attendence is mandatory, she gives you the answers to the study guides and calls out test questions in class. She does talk fast and won't repeat the questions unless asked. The class goes by very fast she talks a lot so I suggest putting your phone away.
Personally, I found the test hard because of the wording. I have a B+ and do the hybrid class, which is nice because its only once a week, but can be challenging for exams. She has mandatory SI meetings, which are annoying.
It is hard to do bad in her class. The test are similar to the study guide, and if you stay in class till the end then she will give all of the study guide awnsers. There are required SI sessions that are guided from TA, which are very helpful. The one downside is she talks very fast so I would recommend recording her lectures to go over later!
Great professor and exams are just like lecture, make sure you pay attention to what she says too. Loves student participation. Have required SI Sessions, they are 50 mins once a week, but definitely helpful, so I would go! Lots of McGraw Hill though, but that is the only HW pretty much
Dr.Mora was one of my favorite professors this semester. Very detailed and easy lectures, amazing study guides, and simple tests. Stay on top of your work, and you'll be just fine. She's a very intelligent and funny woman. 100% take this class.
lecture is important, she also records lectures, and last lecture before test she goes over study guide. extra credit for every exam and accepts it late. grading for Kendall hunt is not strict. McGraw hill is so time consuming but participation. need a lot of time to study for exams.
Terrible, the video lectures barely help at all. There's DOZENS of homework and the more you do, it does absolutely nothing to raise your grade but god forbid you miss one and it drops your grade. If you have any questions she directs you to the GA instead and depending on who you got, you might be outta luck there. The only plus is extra credit.
I enjoyed Dr. Moras class, you have to go to class to do well on exams in my opinion. Sometimes her lectures are fast but I got the hang of taking notes. She gives answers to her study guides and the exams are directly based off of those. She uploads lecture videos that are almost the same as in person lectures.
She is not a good lecturer as I found her choice of words difficult to understand and follow. She aslo just is not a caring professor. I would not recommend.
This class assignment wise is easy and not a lot. Mora is a great teacher and very funny. The tests however can be tricky and require a lot of studying, the average on them is usually around 65% and there are 4 that dominate your grade. I would recommend her if you dont mind some extra studying.
She was really amazing, do your work and come to lecture, you'll make an A. Her lectures give out every single answer to the test. The only problem is she does talk really quickly, which makes taking notes hard. Kinda a lot of work online. Extra credit helps with getting an A, and you don't have to take final if you take all four tests.
You cannot miss a lecture, even though it's the most boring thing on Earth to sit there for over an hour. There are multiple assignments within a topic that you shouldn't put off until the night it's due. The tests are 100% passable if you review the study guide. The SI sessions killed me - find a time that you know you'll attend 100%.
She is a great professor. She gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities, the work load was moderate and it had very fair tests. The class is not hard, just online work heavy. I would recommend recording her lectures because she does tend to speak fast. Overall an excellent teacher, it was one of the easier courses I took this semester.
I loved Dr.Mora, her attendance is mandatory, but she usually tries her best to leave time to let everyone out early. She gives a lot of extra credit and truly does her best to give everyone the best opportunity to pass. She gives exam reviews for every exam and the class before she will go through it. Beware of McGraw hill assignments, not too bad
LOVED Her so much
She was a great professor, I just found myself so bored with the material. There are many online assignments, but a good amount of extra credit is offered. The lowest test grade was dropped.
Go to lectures cuz she literally tells you the test answers. SI sessions were annoying and didn't really help me with the material, but it's an easy grade. Test were very easy and the answer choices weren't meant to trick you or anything. Overall easy course if you take the time to learn the material and she also offers extra credit.
She gives you answers as she is lecturing and is right to the point. She also goes through the whole review before the test during class and gives all the answers. She is a fast talker but will repeat if you ask. Also the homework and quizzes have nothing to do with the lecture but you get unlimited attempts on the hw and can read for the quiz.
She does a great job teaching and gives some exam questions that are going to be on the exam. She also has tons of opportunities for extra credit which is curved based on the average exam score. The exams are pretty easy as long as you do the study guide and know the exam questions she gives out. There is some HW but have plenty of time to do it.
her work has alot to read and the homework is alot but she offers an amazing extra credit policy and we only meet once a week. even if you never read the textbook that once a week will give you more than enough for the exam to get an A not just pass.
Love this professor. She is well spoken and great at lecturing, not to mention she is so funny. Would for sure take her class again!
She's really good and my course was hybrid, so we had 50% of our info online which can be overwhelming if you let it pile up. Pretty easy grader.
Very engaging and helpful with extra credit. Her exams are not entirely like the study guide so go deeper with studying. She does make her political beliefs known by laughing at certain things or making snarky comments, so that's weird from a professional. Overall, not really a lot of work just study and attend the SI sessions for clarification.
This class was a hybrid but despite her boring lectures the class is easy to pass honestly it is comparable to a high school course as long as you pay attention in lectures and do the readings.
Politically biased FOR SURE!!! It's more obvious in her lecture videos, but she doesn't fail to bring her own views and belifes into the class room.
I do not recommend taking the hybrid version of her course. It is very fast paced and there is usually only one or two lectures in between each exam, part of these being the review for the exam. You have to do alot of work outside of class to succeed.
She is amazing in her lectures and you can really tell she is passionate about the subject she teaches. SI sessions are required and make sure to pick a good time for you. She does not allow you to make up tests for any reason, if you do miss you must take the final to replace it. Never wait until last minute to start her assignments.
Prof. Mora was decent just her lectures would make me fall asleep, but you cant, she talks very fast and its hard to keep up taking notes. Every test there is extra credit. Attend the SI sessions they helped a lot and it is part of your grade. Each week there is multiple videos you should watch before lecture as well as lots of McGraw Hill.
she's a good professor but her exam reviews don't really match whats on the exams. I did hybrid so it wasn't too bad, her lectures are pretty good but boring. Id just recommend going over a lot more than whats on the reviews so your better prepared for the exams
Professor Mora makes this class as easy as possible. All homework is usually due at the end of the month so you can really work at your own pace. She also provides good reviews for exams.
She cancelled class sometimes and then just wouldn't even teach material she'd just show the filled out study guide. She was chill though. The tests are hard so study, some stuff on the tests is just not even on the study guide AT ALL which was annoying. If you do what you're supposed to do and study you'll get an A prob.
Such a funny teacher and makes her students feel seen. She gives around 40% of your grade almost impossible to not pass. If you go to class and pay attention and study for the test you will do great. Take her for sure!
Great professor, very thorough notes and clearly wants students to succeed! Cool that the textbook for the class was written by her too haha
If you have to take this class, take her. She will tell you during the lecture when something she says will be on the test. She will go over exam reviews with you at the end of class, which are just rephrased versions of exactly what's on the class. Go to class and put in a bit of effort and it's an easy A.
Assignments were very easy to complete with several easy extra credit opportunities to do throughout the semester. The final exam isn't mandatory unless you miss an exam or want to boost your grade up. Very easy tests, she gives most of the answers out during lecture and tells you "this is a test question, here is the answer". would take again
Show up to lecture, do your assignments, and do the extra credit. The lecture before the test she goes over the test review and she will tell you specific material that will be on the test so you can prepare. If you read over the test review, the test will be passable. She is also a very engaging teacher.
Shes is a great professor! If you watch her lecture vids and study the study guide she gives for the test you should pass her class easily. She gives test questions and answers in class lectures as well. She also provides an extra credit assignment for every test that gives you 10 points and is usually a fairly simple and quick, would take again.
The assignments are easy but basically pointless cause they usually have nothing to do with the exams. Study guides personally never helped me either. She is a great professor though love her attitude and also accepts late work sometimes.
She was a great professor and was a passionate teacher but her exams were pretty difficult, she provided study guides and would give the answers to them during lectures but they still did not help much. She provides a lot of extra credit though!
Lots of readings and quizzes in McGraw, gives test answers in class, provides study guides and extra credit for every exam. Class is mandatory, had to take an SI session per week for 5% of grade. Exams are hard with averages being 60s, I studied hard and got 80s wo the extra credit. Final exam optional is ur happy with final grade. I reccomend her!
McGraw-Hills. I took the hybrid version of her class, and every unit is due the day before you have each exam. DO. NOT. WAIT. until the last minute to do your McGraw-Hills. Divide your work evenly, and you should be fine. Also, doing the extra credit, saved me so many points. Drops the lowest exam score, could be the final if all others are good.
Compared to other POSI Professors, Professor Moras course is extremely generous when it comes to grading and extra credit opportunities. I took the hybrid class so the mcgraw hill assignments are heavy but if you do them every week it'll be fine. The study guides are also exactly like the exams.
This was an easy class. Everyone complaining is just lazy.
i would not recommend this class unless youre ready to sit for 3 hours a day and listen to lectures OUTSIDE OF CLASS, i hated every moment of this course
Lots of McGraw Hills for each unit (5-10 per unit). Tests are VERY similar to the study guides she gives us (the class before the test she will show everyone the study guide with all the answers). If you study hard enough for the tests, you probably won't have to watch the lecture videos she posts (I never watched any).
Lots of McGraw Hill assignments, at least for the hybrid class. The professor is super fair when it comes to grading, drops the lowest test grade, optional final test, extra credit assignments. The class can get difficult if you don't study or manage your time with the assignments.
