Aweful. first semester teaching and 75% of the class failed the first 3 tests. no review for the cumlative final. i'm sure everyone failed that too. Give her some time and maybe she'll get better.don't take her until she has a couple of years under her belt. She definetly needs some direction from her co workers.
she was a good teacher, tough subject that you have to really work at understanding. most people not wanting to put in the effort. from what i gathered, most students want the answers spelled out for them and that just doesn't happen in this class. she was a really good teacher!!!!

I received an A last semester but i would not recommend this instructor to anyone just yet. She is very new and needs some experience to guide her students in the right direction. Tests very difficult at least 1/2 the class failed all tests the grading curve in this class must have been very large.
Not an easy subject, be sure to copy all the Powerpoint notes.
She has a hard time explaining in detail and you points sometimes to not make sense. She is also hard to understand, but a nice person. For sure take all powerpoint notes.
I would not recommend taking her. Dont get me wrong she is a very nice person. But VERY difficult to understand. If you ask her a question you essentially spend 20 minutes trying to make her understand it. The tests are very hard, thats why everyone gets 50's on them and she has to curve the grade way down.. If you dont have to take her i wouldnt.
Gives three m/c exams, a final, and a 5-page paper. Take good notes on powerpoints and tests should be fine.
Very nice person w/extensive knowledge. She wont be at the comm coll. level for long, shes already teaching p/t at USC. Open book tests for Logic class, great class discusions for philosophy. All tests are curved. Little to no homework required in phil. She is very patient. Not hard to understand if you do your reading as required. shes cute too!!!
She is a nice teacher and is willing to help out her students. Kind of hard to understand every now and then but overall great teacher.
ugh.. this class was SOOO boring! The class was very repetitve and we beat the subjects to death. She has a very strong accent, which made it difficult to understand. We take 1 question quizzes everyday, and I failed about 75% of em. I don't recommend this teacher, she needs some more experience in teaching. again.. VERY BORING!!!!
She is very nice; I think we are spoiled with easy community college professors. This class was challenging but not impossible. Just study and read the 4-page chapter in the book before class and you will do fine. There are three multiple-choice tests and one essay.
she talks real slow everthing she makes you read she repeats the following class she is very boring and her joke suck she needs to retire early
I do not know why people have her a bad review. I think she is an amazing teacher. Her accent gets in the way a little but not much. There is a one question (multiple choice) quiz in the beginning of class and no homework. It is a very easy class. I loved her!
DO NOT TAKE HER!!! she seems easy at first but it a very hard grader. the average grade of her students is a 63%. She will tell you the first day. She is extremely critical and hard to understand. She has one paper and the average grade in my class was a 66%. Dont waste your time
Take her, good teacher, Logic is a hard subject, she makes it interesting and fun. Looking at one of the other raters, yes the class average might be 60-70%, but that is the A then. Part of the class is lecture, then move into groups. Talks are allowed to be open and free minded. Wait to the end before judging badly
Whoever gives this teacher a good rating is lying to you. I did quite well in her class and I am still giving her an "honest" review. The person who said 60% is her average grade is correct. Only 3 people in my class passed. She is a horrible teacher. Save your money and find a good teacher.
Very nice woman. Tests are a bit difficult if you are not super familiar with material. Easiest way to fix that is by showing up to class. I enjoyed the class a lot.
KIND OF EASY. MAKE SURE YOU STUDY THE ESSAYS WELL...A LITTLE HARD TO UNDERSTAND BUT IT IS POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE AN A OR B...MOST STUDENTS RECEIVE C...IF YOU CAN FIND AN EASIER TEACHER TAKE THEM INSTEAD.
one of the worst teachers i have had. she is hard to understand and is critical. she makes you feel dumb uf you dont know some answers. her tests are hard as they do have trick questions. please save your money and/or take someone else. she should not e teaching anywhere
Sherri was very helpful and fun. She is a little hard to understand, but that is life now adays. Great teacher. I never read the book, and still got a B. Very easy tests - she uses what she lectures on
I had a really hard time in the class. If you arent into religion dont take this class. She is somewhat hard to understand.she teaches to the people who already know the topics, but if you arent up to par on religious means, this class will be useless to you. i got low C's on the tests and a C on the paper. IT was a HARD class. Dont take her!!!
If you want an easy time with phil. don't take her. I got an A in her class with considerable pre-class prep. and a lot of class participation. I'm an older student and quite well versed in BS'ing, it didn't fly with her. She shoved my arguments right back at me, making me step them up.She'd be more liked at Univ. level. Nice on the eyes too.
Worst teacher ever. Don't take the ITV course unless you want to waste your time.
do not listen to these reviews.easy A if your do the work and show up to class and listen.prints all her lectures for you.kids who failed were the ones trying to do the work/reading in the 5 mins it takes for her to start class. pulled A's in both her 106/110 class.book is a must.
ITV course is not good and I feel that the Sherrie Zhu is very judgmental on how one looks or dresses, thinking that she is better than everyone else. Not Recommended!
She is a very sweet teacher. She will let you get up and walk out if you need to go somewhere. The tests were super easy and she goes over everything beforehand. The book she had us read was really good. I really enjoyed this class. TAKE HER!
Shes pretty easy...the quizzes were one question quizzes about 2 essays you had 2 read out of the book philosoph. dilemmas. and she pays attention to discussions you have about your belief in the topic. let us out early when covered everything n not much comments were given. P.S the book is interesting too
I found her to be a remarkable teacher. She is strict, true, but will bend over backwards to help you understand. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and is quite cordial in social situations. Phil.110 (Logic) is a dry subject, yet she tried to maintain a lively interest in it. She also graded on a curve for my class.
REALLY BORING CLASS! Do not take! She takes all her notes from the book and basically reads them to the class. It's really boring material. Nice lady, but this class is awful. Homework every week. Only allowed to miss 2 classes before being dropped.
Great teacher and very easy. Do the reading, people! It's not that difficult. She's funny and smart and encourages participation.
Great teacher and very easy. Do the reading, people! It's not that difficult. She's funny and smart and encourages participation.
I took the ITV class, which was a bit more difficult than a regular class, but it was still fun. The lectures were lively and much had to do with Sherrie's teaching style. Most of all, I found the way she said "purpose" very amusing. ;) Grades by the curve. I would highly recommend taking her class.
READ THE BOOK!! its simple and interesting, work hard on your paper and study for the tests they are not difficult. Also come to class or you will be dropped, while your there participate and share your views she loves it! Take her and be a college student and this class is fun, informational and an easy A.
Took her last semester, she's very funny & precise. You have 3 tests based on about 6 chapters & a 6 page essay. Each being 20% of your grade. I didn't do too well on the first 2 test but aced the third & passed the class. Make sure you attend classes,do the reading, copy the lecture which is also online & participate. It's a very interesting class but very long.
She's a good teacher. Do NOT skip the reading assignments! Often her voice can be monotone, which makes everything sound boring, but if you can push past that, she's great.
Love her sense of humour. Logic can be rough to stay awake through, but this lady knows how to make you laugh through it. That was enough to make the semester enjoyable. Plus, she's not too hard on the eyes.
It was a pretty hard class. I would recommend this class to anyone who is used to reading a lot, because there is a lot of reading. And you gotta study hard to pass the quizzes and exams. The teacher, herself, was pretty cool.
Very helpful professor, but you have to ask questions for her to really go into depth with the subject. Her lectures are interesting and she has a great sense of humor once she gets to know you. Don't forget to read the assignments; the class is centered around reading. She's pretty, too!
She is NON-biased! Class is very structured (always the same routine). Be prepared to read the entire textbook. The reading is easy to understand & interesting. There's a quiz every class period so READ! Her powerpoints are on blackboard & easy to follow. Quiz & test questions are very straight forward. She's fairly easy on the eyes & really funny!
Profesor Zhu is fantastic! I wasn't at all interested in philosophy but this class was very interesting. She has a great sense of humor and gives everyone a fair shot at speaking. She exhibited next to no favoritism. Finally she stuck to her syllabus which was greatly appreciated.
She is very fair and unbiased even when the class gets into a heated discussion. Make sure you always read ahead or else you will fail. Multiple choice for tests and a couple of essays but all in all a good class. Always allows for everyone's opinion, granted there is enough time. Great teacher who knows her stuff!
I had her for Honors Philosophy and the students taught the class. Because it was an honors class, she didn't make reading mandatory because she expected we would on our own. Tests were multiple choice. Just study keywords, and do your presentations (teach 1/2 chapter and do two case studies). VERY EASY CLASS. SHE IS VERY FAIR.
I took her honors option and boy was that interesting. Discussions everywhere! Don't get me wrong, it was whole lot of fun. You get to discuss half of a chapter and 2 case studies, a paper (6 pages long), and 3 tests. Her class was interesting.
Taking philosophy with Sherrie Zhu was funny, our class was lively, but we also used the text book a lot. It wasn't a hard class, though (PHIL 105).
She made every subject very interesting and is a master of playing devil's advocate in a debate. Admittedly she does have some trouble understanding what point you're trying to make, which stretches discussions a bit, but they were still a ton of fun. It's a good thing her lectures are short, because she lets the class debate for more than an hour.
Pretty good teacher. She is very fair and unbiased even when the class gets into a heated discussion. Her lectures are clear, but her test and quiz questions aren't always. Interesting reading material. She is definitely intelligent and is very organized. Make sure to refer to power points made available online for tests. She does use them!!!
Sherrie was very funny and she was clear with all the lectures. The problem i had with her were her tests. A LOT of true and false (which were hard) and her questions were a lot like best answer. I knew the material and i still didn't do good. So if you are into true and false tests, take her. If you have a problem with it i recommend not to.
If you like to fall asleep in class I recommend her. I was more then exited to take this class but once the first class was over i realized it was a mistake taking it with her she made this class really boring.also, she not only confused us but herself in what she was teaching. other then that she is a pretty fair teacher
Worst teacher I've ever taken. She reads off her PowerPoint notes giving the same info I could've gotten on my own by reading she doesn't explain things thoroughly and confuses herself sadly. She makes a somewhat interesting subject BORING. I took her for 105&106 Wouldn't recommend her
She has a soft voice which is hard to hear, sit close. She is pretty laid back and tries to be funny. You have one essay and the rest are just chapter test and a quiz before every lecture. If you read the book and listen during lecture you will pass with flying colors.
Zhu is the greatest. If you're engaged with actually THINKING and discussing different ways of approaching morality/ethics, you'll love this class. Yes, there may be heavy powerpoint reliance but that is well countered by cutting conversations and the occasional joke here and there; people without senses of humour will not like her class.
She is late for class, but don't excuse you for being late actually she will mark you absent if your late three times or leave early. Then she will drop you from her class without any prior notice. I would not advise anyone with kids or if you get sick and have to miss her class, NOT to take her class. She's really a borning teacher.
Such a boring class. But easy. Read your book before every class because she does quiz you on the section every class.
I personally liked professor Zhu. If you already have an interest in philosophy you'll find the class easy, if not you might have a hard time. She's a very nice professor, grading scheme feels tough for a 3 unit class but she is reasonable and curves grades when people don't do as well as expected. Overall a good professor.
I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Shes very confusing and this class is very boring.
She's a very sweet woman and is always willing to help. As long as you study the powerpoints and the assigned chapters you'll b e fine.
The subject may be a little difficult because IT IS philosophy. Honestly, just read the text book and you'll be fine. You will not pass her class if you do not read the textbook though, so READ the text book. She is nice and her tests are not cumulative. It may get boring sometimes, but its only because the material can be boring. I got an "A"
She is very intelligent and explains the material well. Her best attribute is taking questions and answers from overly confused students and translating it to the rest of the class. She is very nice and respectful to student's opinions, and does not show any bias. All of the assignments and tests are all very clear. Nice and funny person.
There is an accent barrier that made the lectures unclear. However, I used the companion website to study for tests and quizzes (missed one out of all of them). Additionally, I did the Honors Option, so I had to write an extra paper. Visiting her - as listed on the contract - was not mandatory, but as I've learned, it should be a must.
I would not recommend her at all to anyone. She is very hard to understand. Her class lectures are very long. She keeps you until the end of class, hardly ever get dismissed early. Tends to go off topic a lot.
She will put you in groups and call on you to participate but no answer you give is ever wrong and she is super sweet! There is a 6 page paper but it's double spaced and ask questions, she will tell you what she expects!!! Easy class, just read the book and study for the tests.
Prof. Zhu makes a very boring subject bearable. She really cares for her students and would always go out of her way to make sure we understood the material taught. She only assigned three tests, but they were open note and book. Completion of weekly homework was also a must to succeed in this class. I would take her class again.
Dr. Zhu was a great professor. Ethics is not an easy subject to grasp, plus it got dull at times. But she was able to make it a bit more interesting. HW every week, opinion based so you will get full credit. One paper, and 3 multiple choice exams. The final is not cumulative. Overall it was a great class, study and you'll do fine.
Sherrie is hard to understand, she tends to move quickly and expect you to understand the concept after reading the chapter yourself before class. Tough grader, you would think your grade is accurate on black board but its not you have to take each categorie and multiple it by the percent its weighed. (confusing). Don't Take her.
The course was very difficult to understand. More than half the class did not know what was going on after our second exam. When asked for help she referred me to the online tutor, I spent over an hour with the tutor until they concluded that they could not understand the material either. Lots of homework and 3 exams make up your grade.
Took her online class, you meet like 3 times, Your basically on your own, book is a must, tons of mind tap homework, The only good thing was her test were only 35 questions but hard if you can't teach yourself logic, I highly recommend taking a professor in a class room setting. Logic is like math it's not an easy subject. I had to drop her class.
If you pay attention and do your homework you will have no problem passing this class. Mrs. Zhu is very sweet and truly passionate about philosophy. You can definitely learn a lot for her and enjoy the process.
I would not recommend this class to my worst enemy. The material is difficult to understand when you are teaching yourself, not to mention that when asking for help Professor Zhu refers you to the online tutor. I asked for help multiple times and have gotten the same response. Grading criteria is based on 3 exams and homework, THAT IS IT!
This was an online class I would not take this subject again online because you are on your own. The material was VERY difficult to understand. When I reached out to Prof Zhu she referred me back to the text. This was the worst experience since starting at AVC. If you have the choice take this course on campus it will save you a lot of grief!
The teacher is not a tough grader. There will be homework due every week before class which is based on the book readings. So the book is a must for this class. Do homework and you will pass the class.
Amazing teacher, she was understandable and the entire class was active during her lectures. Homework is only once a week and is incredibly easy.
She is tough but fair helps to gets better grades by giving free point last with homework. Ready to study and learn if you want to pass this class.
Mrs. Zhu is an amazing professor. She is caring, understanding and easy to talk to. Her lectures lead to AMAZING discussion She gives 2 point quizzes each class to test that you've read the material but if you read her power points before hand you will be fine. Use her power points to study tests can be tricky!
Full lecture through the class. Very good at explaining the criteria. A lot of reading and homework, but the work is interesting and even fun when it comes to certain topics. I am taking her for another philosophy, because she is interactive and I actually learned something.
Professor Sheri will keep you awake during her lectures. You will not be bored if everyone in the class cooperates you'll have a fun semester don't lack and you'll enjoy it!
About what you would expect for a gen ed class. Not to much and not to little. Just right. I would definitely take another class from her. Good overall.
Prof Sherri Zhu is a rather interesting character. His accent definitely takes some getting used to but you'll eventually get an ear for it. His lectures are powerpoint based and tends to move rather quickly.
Professor Zhu is an amazing Philosophy professor. She breaks down difficult topics and is there for all her students. I completed the Honors Option, which was writing a 10-page paper and a presentation. It may seem a bit heavy, but she is more than willing to help along the way. Take her for Philosophy, work hard, and you won't regret it!
This was my second course with Prof. Zhu. She is the reason that education is making a difference in the life of the students that take her class. I would easily regard her as a friend as she portrays a balance to her presence of encouragement, intelligence, is challenging to the thought process and yet always fair. Can't help but learn so much.
I took Professor Zhu on Mondays only in the evening from 3:45-6:50 she made the class interesting , you definitely have to read there is no getting around it weekly hw from the week due online then in class discussions where you may or may not get called on ,3 tests including the final and one 6 pg paper. She was really sweet and a great professor.
i really enjoyed her teaching she is great made the class easy to learn
I have taken S. Zhu for both PHIL 105 & 106, and enjoyed both very much. Her lectures are interactive, thought provoking and the classroom discussions are inclusive. She encourages questions and tries to accommodate all when explaining complex theories.
She is great. If you pay attention and do the homework you will pass no problem. The discussions are interesting and the class was encouraged to think outside the box as well as have fun with some topics.
the professor is fun to be around but also tends to laugh at people .
Philosophy itself was a hard subject for me to understand, however; Professor Zhu was friendly and willing to help. As long as you show her that you are trying to understand it and doing the homework, she will help you.
This professor is one of the best I have ever had. She cares about her students and demonstrates a commitment to the class. She is dedicated and makes sure to provide the resources needed for the students. If I had the chance, I would take her class again!
HmWk assigned every week which is easy points if you stay on top of it. The tests are easy to study for if you use her slides. No eating, drinking, phones, or laptops & roll is taken at the beginning & end of class. You'll do fine if you do the homework & study for the test. The 3 hour class is boring and hard to get through but an easy class.
Professor Zhu, is very kind and respectful. If you study whats on the study guide for the test then you will be okay. If you do your homework she gives you credit as long as you try and follow her instructions. Other than that there was only one paper you have to do for the class, it is based on two of the readings , so it is a easy A if you try
Professor Zhu is very nice and will listen to any concerns you may have. Her lectures are witty and engaging. You will actually learn a lot about yourself in this class. It is very interesting, I would recommend Professor Zhu to any students that need Phil-106.
You have one homework assignment a week. I struggled learning in this class but this could be just me. I just feel like when it came around to the test I was clueless because I didn't know what to study.
I would have preferred to check many more than three. She is a wonderful listener and assessor, very encouraging and knowledgeable, gives very good feedback, caring, very funny, really encouraged participation, soo-much-homework!, inspirational, encouraged faith but not obnoxious. Really, one of the very best instructors I have ever had!!!
Professor Zhu was an amazing teacher, wonderful lectures with a combination of well thought out information along with a good sense of humor. She is concise and precise, caring and gives great feedback. Looking forward to taking another class with her.
This was my first philosophy course at AVC. I am so grateful to have taken it with Professor Zhu. An amazing lecturer and really knows her stuff. She is open to any questions of confusions you may have, and provides great feedback. Taking her class has changed my life. PS: Take advantage of her office hours, she is a great conversationalist.
She is very witty and funny, she loves cracking jokes and engaging with the students while she is lecturing. Her syllabus is pretty clear and she follows it thoroughly so just follow it and listen when she lectures
informative, intelligent discussions, and great subjects.
Dr. Zhu was a great instructor! Shes very passionate for what she teaches and shes always there to make sure that you understand the material. Expect a lot of group work and quizzes before class starts. Attendance is mandatory so do not miss class! Shes a very fair grader too!
I was a little bit weary of taking this class, as the previous reviews that I have read stated that the material is really difficult and that she doesn't teach it well. Not true! You have to read a chapter every week, but if you stay on top of it there is no way to fail. Mostly understandable and when it isn't, she explains it well. Great teacher!
Professor Zhu is a good instructor, she's nice and she has a sense of humor so you will find yourself a good laugh or two. Her class isn't hard at all as long as you do the homework and come to class you will pass the class. Her grading criteria is very clear and simple. Overall I would take her again.
Very good professor
She was really a great teacher. All of her lectures were entertaining and the homework was interesting. There is a lot of reading but the material is very interesting.
Mrs. Zhu was actually not as bad as I thought. The reviews arent true. Shes straightforward and easy. The HW is graded very leniently, and the tests are easy so long as you review and study (again not hard). I only wish the debates we had were more student-involved and not as controlled by the professor. Easy A and defined take again.
Listen during Lecture, because she clarifies information that will be on the tests. Reading is easy, I read and did homework an hour before class... I got an 86% in the class.
Professor Sherri is very sweet and smart. Her class consists of quizzes every day and HW assignments after each session. The Hw is not difficult just do it or you wont pass and yes the book is mandatory. Other than that its 3 test and one paper. Also expect to work in groups every class session. She gives a lot of feedback and is straight forward.
A great teacher who is very unbiased in how she teaches the class these subjects. She interacts with questions very well and continues the conversation pertaining to the topic with class discussions. Homework is right out of the textbook and requires you to read the text in the book before answering the questions. Overall a great class for an intro
Great professor! Ive taken both PHIL 105 and PHIL 106 and really enjoyed both classes. She is super enthusiastic about the subject and works hard to make sure everyone leaves the class with a solid understanding of the content. You HAVE to read for this class but the chapters are short and she give you the power points and study guides for tests.
Professor Zhu was wonderful. Explained theories so that you could understand. She made us laugh. Would absolutely take another class with her.
Professor Sherri is an amazing professor. you do have to do the homework before class so that you dont get lost in the lecture. there is group work and she does does do pop corn pick to review the homework. the only thing is that i wish there was more time to review all the homework and the study guides. all in all an awesome professor
I didn't enjoy this class one bit. Meet only on testing days, expects her students to teach themselves & philosophy 110 has nothing to do with philosophy.
Well respected, open minded, and answers questions respectfully!
Hardest class I took this semester. Only met with her on test days and when I emailed her for HW help she just sent me what was in the textbook. Material is very difficult and hard to teach yourself. I would not recommend anyone to take this class online. HW is long and difficult, especially if you're having trouble. Notes OK on all tests.
Best possible course of action is to always always read the module you need for the next lecture before coming in to talk about it. Especially if you don't want to be that one at the back just praying not to be called on to discuss cause you don't know what's going on.
Easy class. Homework every week that you discuss in class and One paper
She is such a sweet professor, there is only one paper and if you start on time she gives great feedback and is really helpful. You will pass with an A as long as you do all the work.
She is very detailed with her lectures and makes sure that you understand the concepts, reading the chapter before lecture helps a lot.
The class felt aliitle boring in the beginning but it got interesting later on. The class is easy overall, just do the homework, read( or skim) and attend class. She is a very good lecturer and a very kind person. She makes the lessons easy to understand by making it relatable.
Awesome course.
She's great! She's most definitely passionate about what she's teaching. The material is a little tough to comprehend, but she willgo over it until you understand. Quiz at the beginningof every class, so attendance matters. I recommend her.
Professor Zhu is very engaging with her students. Her lectures are excellent resources when you have difficulty with the textbook. Very little Extra Credit, so do the homework! Do not miss more than a day or so, the Professor is a stickler for attendance. Overall communicate if there is a problem, Professor is open to helping you.
This professor is amazing. She is funny and very passionate about philosophy. She grades fairly and in order to pass the multiple choice test just study the powerpoints and answer the questions on the study guide and you will get an A.
An amazing professor who gives really great lectures! I loved her class and the discussions were always really interesting. I highly recommend Professor Zhu
Homework every week, followed by group discussion, 1 paper, & 3 tests. Overall, she definately knows the subject & explains things decently. Shes easygoing in person but a picky grader.
She is strict on attendance but overall she is the sweetest woman ever.
Tests were kinda hard
Sherri Zhu was a wonderful teacher. She was always kind and optimistic. She encouraged everyone to share there views and freely discuss the topics presented in a safe environment. Study guides were provided before each test, and the paper's grading criteria was clearly stated. She is really good at explaining concepts in multiple ways.
The teacher has a legitimate understanding in which she instructs. She is able to adequately address confused questioning by students and break complex concepts into easier to convey Segways in order to facilitate an inclusive generalized introductory understanding. What I liked most about this teacher was her ability to clearly define concepts.
Overall a solid professor. Explains the topic very well. Know her material and is able to create though provoking topics. Student make the class interesting by asking difficult questions. Overall enjoyed the class very much
she is sweet and cute!
Really easy class and she is super nice. I legit did the hw last min sometimes and always got an A on them. Only deducts points if turned in late. You dont really have to reach much but the no and yes sides.
Exelent professor I enjoyed my experience and learned alot. She is fair when it comes to grading and her lectures are very interesting
She is a very great professor. She keeps her opinion out of all discussions and asks questions to engage your own thought process. I was worried about taking a philosophy class because Ive heard about so many philosophy professors preaching instead of teaching. She DOES NOT do that AT ALL. Very informative and knowledgeable on the subjects.
She is very open to any interpretation of the homework and finds a way to tie it into what the text actually says. Her grading is very specific. As long as you email her for missing a class she wont drop you. The homework and classes were super easy. The tests are killer. You NEED to study for the tests.
Amazing professor! Very kind, funny, and caring. Homework assignments every week but easy work. Attendance is mandatory or else she will drop you. MUST study for tests in order to receive a good grade, but she gives out great study guides to help. Very understanding and as long as you show up & do the work, you will pass the class! Take her!
Attendance is very important. The homework has to be turned in the day of class to canvas. There are lectures and homework is reviewed in group discussions. If no one volunteers to go over the homework the professor will popcorn pick students.
Her class is not hard at all. We had one assignment per week and a paper. She answers questions very well so don't be afraid to get clarification. The only thing is the tests. Answers are not always easy to find so make sure you do the homework and put the right answers on it. Do the study guide. Show up she takes attendance every day. 10/10!!!
Professor Zhu was very nice and always kept things interesting. Her lectures were a blast and we always had very engaging conversations. If you take this class be ready to study. Her tests weigh heavily and you will need to study hard in order pass them. Wonderful class overall!
Prof Sherri is a great professor. She encourages participation and I love how she opens up space to discuss and share our opinions. You have a quiz every class of only 2 questions based on the chapter and there is 3 exams and one 7 page paper-which was not hard at all. I really recommend her!
Professor Sherri is one of the best professors i have had at AVC. She is very caring and helpful towards all her students. Lectures are very interesting and homework as well. Make sure to study for test she also gives study guides to help you prepare for test. Office hours are great with her she has definitely made a great impact in my life.
Very kind and respected professor. She is very professional in her way of teaching . She will break topics down until you understand each theory. She really cares about her students so if you don't understand all you have to do is ask questions and she will clarify until it makes sense.
Gives us online textbook and leaves us on our own to figure it out then gives the test every couple of weeks after we teach ourselves. We only meet on test days. Take this course with a teacher you can actually meet for help.
Professor Zhu is very straightforward in her grading criteria and lectures, and as long as you do your reading and homework, this class is easy to pass. She does take attendance at the beginning and end of every class, so its important to make sure you don't skip all the time. Overall she's a great professor and the class was enjoyable.
I enjoyed the class discussions, the professor was passionate about getting people to understand the topics. This class was fun and learned the foundation of philosophy. Good to have an open mind. :)
Participation matters because thats what makes the class fun. When all the students talk, we we'll get into a deep conversation anf makes the lectures amazing. If you participate, its an easy A, she doesn't ask for much. She's beyond caring, tge chances she gives and she's very understanding.
Profesor Zhu is very professional, she knows her stuff. Very interesting class. I liked her lectures and learned a lot.
great class
She is very sweet and her class was not difficult at all. Definitely recommend
She is very involved, and participation only makes the class better. A very simple class to pass if you stay on top of your assignments.
Professor Zhu, makes sure to try engaging the class whenever possible, with questions, group discussion, and more. A solid choice for your philosophy classes.
Interesting class, and I mean that in a good way. It gets you thinking, you must keep an open mind with some of the chapters. The homework helps tremendously with understanding and the exams.
She is a great professor and she makes learning Philosophy a fun and enjoying experience. There are quizzes at the start of each class and you have to read a chapter every week before class. She is strict on phone usage, but the participation in class makes you forget about your phone. You also have to work in groups while participating.
Professor Zhu is a great professor, she offers you all the work at the beginning of the semester so you can do the homework weekly or all at once. She is funny at times & you will have to work in groups. She is respectful to all beliefs and philosophical views, she will challenge your own view in a healthy way. Overall a good Professor.
Attendance is a must. Make sure to read and participate in class.
Very kind & respectful teacher. Philosophy can be difficult for some but it came naturally to me. Always explains if you have a question. Can be a bit boring during lecture. Doesn't bring her own opinion into discussion. For HW you have to read and answer questions, if you like expressing your own opinion it can be fun. Overall a solid teacher.
She is a very good professor. All her test are easy because she makes a study guide available. I will definitely try to take another class with her.
Interesting Class. The lectures and discussions are all very intriguing. There are always study guides for test. 10/10 would recommend.
Loved her class, I was always learning something new. Make sure to have an open mind and make sure to read the material assigned and do the homework or you wont pass.
Since the pandemic weve had to move to online teaching like many other schools. One of the things that I didnt like was that she insisted on us turning on our cameras knowing that we were at home and most likely not looking our best. I felt like she probably docked points for every time we didnt have our cameras on. Which is annoying and dumb.
Overall an excellent teacher! Very kind and mindful about anything.
Shes really sweet and tries to help. Her lectures can be a little lengthy and boring and she talks really slow, but the class isnt hard and its really interesting if you try to understand it. Make sure youre doing your homework how she asks so you can get credit and use her study guides for the tests. I really liked her all around :)
I do not recommend this professor.
Very strict on attendance
One of the greatest teachers and classes that I have ever take. she is very understand and respectful and helpful. you start to love philosophy because of the way she discusses the material. you will laugh a lot because of the interesting material she chooses to discuss. easy class and you will learn a lot
Great professor. The first day might seem a little bit intimidating, but she is a great professor. As long as you do the reading and attend class itll be an easy A
Stay on top of HW and papers then youll be fine. Very understanding and helpful. Professor cares if you pass. Answers questions and concerns promptly
Mrs. Zhu is a really nice teacher. She gives a clear schedule and grading criteria at the beginning of the semester. No surprises! You have to read the chapter and do the HW before the lecture because there's a mini-quiz each class. No extra credit or possibility to retake exams. If you ask questions and study the PPTs it's a piece of cake.
Professor Zhu is great, she as a accent and it was hard the first couple class but after awhile i understood very well. she is very nice and will help you if you don't understand things. there is homework for every section and 3 test and 1 essay pretty easy. i had her during the pandemic so we switch to online and she did a good job transitioning.
How well you do in the class is based entirely on your capacity to understand the concepts being presented (reading comprehension). This is due to the amount of required reading in order to answer the case study questions and to prepare for test. With that said, Professor Zhu does a great job of explaining the course material. I enjoyed the class.
She was unable to help me when ur came to going to online classes! If you are taking her online be ready for some strict proctored system that involves a 100% working computer. Or you will not pass this class. Other than that, she was able give a decent amount of homework and tests. The tests are barley similar to the study guides but good luck!
I have never met professor Zhu so i can't speak on her personally but honestly her grading scale is terrible you can pass all three of her exams with an A, A, and a C on the final which is cumulative and still not pass... It's very disheartening. The hw is LONG and TEDIOUS so if you're a person that studies without hw don't take this class.
I took her online and only ever saw her the 1st class. There is no interaction. She does give other sources to learn the material besides the text book, but homework is long. It was all through cengage, the entire grade is based on homework and 3 test. I thought I did ok on the 1st test, but failed. Youtube videos only go so far. I found it hard.
This was a very in depth philosophy class, professor Sherri Zhu was a very fun yet professional instructor and made her class very entertaining and educational. As long as you follow her guidelines there is no way you can fail as the textbook you read and the assignments you do are very clear and prof Zhu is very understanding.
Professor Zhu is an amazing option for philosophy. Not only does she explain every chapter very thoroughly, but shes always around to answer questions or help you when you need it. I highly recommend her course! Shes very friendly and a great teacher.
There are reading and writing every week but its informative to do. There are 3 tests but they are basically questions from the study guide she posts on canvas from the beginning of the course. Materials are actually not hard if you spend a little amount of time every week on it. You will learn a lot and have good view on philosophy.
This professor is very nice and helpful when it comes to assignments. She does not accept late work but gives you plenty of time to finish assignments. if you are taking any of her classes online she requires the camera on for the entire duration of the class. This class was easy and very interesting.
Professor Zhu isnt an easy pass but that isnt necessarily a bad thing, she encouraged me to understand the concepts we were covering, if you actually want to learn something I recommend!
Professor Zhu was a great choice for philosophy 105. Attendance was mandatory and you would go over a chapter for class and then get in groups to discuss it. One homework for every chapter but it was relatively simple. We had 3 tests and she used proctorio. Use the powerpoints to study and you should be fine!
Be ready to read! You read almost the whole book but you learn a lot. She lectures well and is very clear. If you do the homework and apply yourself itll pay off.
Prof. Zhu is an amazing instructor. I definitely learned a lot in her course, it was a great class. She assigns 1 hw assignment per week. There is 1 paper on a topic she provides. She gives 3 tests and gives study guides. She doesnt take late work. I loved this class. People say philosophy is so boring but she changed my mind.
Great teacher, only concern is the use of Proctorio I don't trust the extension myself as well as many other of my fellow as it is a invasive app. -access to location data, and camera and - MODIFY DATA YOU COPY AND PASTE - MANAGE YOUR DOWNLOADS - MANAGE YOUR APPS, EXTENSIONS, AND THEMES - CHANGE YOUR PRIVACY-RELATED SETTINGS terrible ext.
Took her this semester of fall 2020, everything is still online but she made it work. we were able to engage with other students often which helped stay focus and more active. attendance is mandatory and so is webcam but i dont mind. test definitely are hard and need studying but overall great class and great professor
Professor Zhu was an amazing teacher and I would have wished to have had her in a classroom setting oppose to zoom. Professor Zhu provided a clear syllabus, attendance and participation was a requirement and makes sense, as well as completing homework and reading assignments on time. I enjoyed the class and learned valuable and useful information.
She is an amazing professor! Very understanding as a part time student and part time employee she was able to allow me to submit late work. She is very kind, respectful, and understanding. Best professor at avc to be honest. SHE IS SMART AND WITTY BUT IN A GOOD WAY :)
I took her during Spring 2020, so I experienced half real life and half online class. She's a great teacher, very clear with expectations and what the class will be doing. There are several papers you'll need to write. It can be difficult to understand the material but she'll always answer any questions you have.
I took a hybrid class so I taught myself. Never do that you cannot teach yourself philosophy so dont even try. But I would zoom call her and shes the best she helped me understand so much that the book and videos wouldnt help with. Shes a great teacher but dont try to teach yourself philosophy trust me
Professor Zhu is very smart and keeps her opinion to herself. There were 3 exams, and each exam was worth 20% so STUDY, use the exam guides. Does not offer any extra credit, as stated in the syllabus as well as no exam make-ups. I cried myself to sleep so many times due to this course and its work. There is a lot of reading and weekly assignments.
Tests can and will drop your grade.. make sure to study.. get at least half on each test for a guaranteed C as long as you also get an A on the homework.. and maybe it could be rounded to a B. As for the classes, there is a lot of fun discussion and movies we watch to look into ethics it offsets the lectures and ones idea of them.
Her class is pretty straight forward. You read the chapters and answer a set of question. But dont worry its only like 2-4pgs worth of reading. But the book helps understand what each theory means. During class she expands what you read with background information to fill and holes you may have. Great teacher. I have taken two of her classes.
Prof Sherri Zhu, Open my eyes to different ways you think about life. I really enjoy this class.
Very adept in the course she handled and answers students questions in details before going on with the lecture. Very interactive
Professor Sherri Zhu is amazing! I really enjoyed taking this course. She really explains all the philosophical theories very well and makes it easy to understand. The homework is moderate and not hard at all and class discussions are encouraged. Overall I really enjoyed her class and would recommend her as a professor.
Professor Zhus enthusiasm made the material easy to understand with her lectures and encouraged participation. The homework was not heavy but you will need to study and take notes during the lectures for the tests. 10/10 would take again.
This professor is amazing to have! She gives clear explanations and encourages the students to express their own opinions, which makes every class very interesting. Definitely a patient teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed her class.
The apparent use of Correct and incorrect answers to the homework every now and then were a bit discouraging when it came down to our own answers
Just take this class and enjoy it with one of the best professors at AVC!
This professor was really good for my class one homework assignment per week that was very manageable. The test were relatively easy just follow the lectures and you should be fine. One of the better professors at avc and makes class very enjoyable. The lectures were easy to follow and never boring would recommended to take this class.
Great teacher!
Professor Zhu makes her lectures interesting and fun. You are required to participate in answering questions from the essays in assigned group. She makes the lectures fun and time goes by quickly. I enjoyed her class very much. She gives you study guides to prepare you for the tests (3). There is one paper assignment - not too bad.
Its an easy class if you just do your homework and show up to class. If you miss the homework you wont get an A. If you miss class you wont get an A. The exams are essay if you actually did the homework and paid attention in class. Weekly reading. Weekly homework. Couple exams.
Professor Zhu is such a great choice for philosophy. She made the discussion and classes interesting and comfortable for people to talk about the topic. Very straightforward grading, do the reading and youll pass with flying colors.
This class is by far the best Ive taken. The philosophical topics that will be spoken of will open your mind to new ideas and Professor Zhu makes it extremely easy to understand the topics. She is an easy grader and as long as you complete the readings ( like 8 pages not hard) and do the homework which is not a lot the class should be an easy A.
Dr. Zhu is approachable and willing to take time to make sure her students are understanding concepts. She frequently stayed after class to discuss the material and answer questions about morals and how I was applying them in my own life. She radiates kindness and is worthy of deep respect and admiration. The text mostly easy to understand.
I just have one thing to say study. in. advance. The homework and reading wasnt too bad but I always messed up when it came to our quizzes. As long as you do her study guides over the weekend and study them then youll be set :) she was a nice teacher to have
Really liked the instructor. Took course online. Very organized and clearly explained. Definitely would have this instructor again.
Professor Zhu is kind, funny, and easy-going. As long as you show up to class and study a decent amount, an A is very achievable.
One of the most amazing professors I have had. Lectures were very interesting and found myself wanting to learn more deeply about philosophy.
Home work is clearly defined and visible from the first day of class. Most of the time is going over the lectures and discussions. Three tests and they are worth a large portion of the grade, be ready for them.
She goes by the textbook, which is great, because you cant say you're surprised by anything. She is good about sticking to the syllabus. Class participation is a key in really understanding this course. Homework is usually due every Monday by the time class starts. I enjoyed her lecture style and only wish that i had taken the class in person.
Shes great you can tell she cares a lot about philosophy and teaching . Dont stress about the essay it seems hard at first but its pretty easy since she explains the philosophical idea behind it. Do the homework , study the study guide and youll pass .
Dr. Zhus class was straight forward. She lectured and then we did short in class activities to have better understanding of the concepts. She provided study guides that corresponded with her lectures, studying those got my good grades on my exams. Weekly assignments from the book that are easy. 1 paper due. Shes very nice and approachable.
Her class was interesting I only failed because the way my work was turned in and she would receive it and said that it didn't have the right margins. I would screenshot the page set up but she wouldn't except it. I did all my work too, but still failed!
Always had great conversations in her class. Many of them opened up my mind to many different ideas & solutions. Awesome professor.
she is a great teach with high levels of discipline..
Great teacher! Will call on you to answer questions eventually, so get ready to participate in discussions.
She is certainly knowledgeable, but the textbook is outdated in many ways, it heavily skews towards a pro capitalist philosophy, and when we discussed the section on communism she showed a Charlie Chaplin film. I literally have learned nothing in this class. I learned more reading on my own prior to ever taking this class. Definite disappointment.
Highly recommend taking her class. She is a great professor. This was my first philosophy class and I am looking forward to taking another one soon, preferably with her again. She did a great job at opening the world of philosophy to me (a new student) and to students with prior knowledge in the subject did a great job at expanding that knowledge.
Dr. Sherri Zhu is an amazing professor. She breaks down complex philosophical theories into a more understandable standard. She also keeps your mind fresh by giving you assignments, quizzes, great lectures and very informative movies. I would most definitely take her again if it came to it. Remember, participation matters.
Professor Zhu is really good at mediating various viewpoints while making her topics accessible. She follows the syllabus and her expectations are clear. A majority of your grade will be from the tests and the paper but so long as you do the assigned readings and make use of the study guide you'll pass the class with flying colors.
Professor Zhu is an amazing professor, she is very understanding and caring towards her students! I had a very rough semester and although I failed her class that was completely my own fault. She was there when I needed it and gave me the opportunity to make up my missing work, Would definitely recommend taking her class!
Such an easy-going and fun teacher, you have one 4-6 question assignment per week (and there are no wrong answers, just follow the few rules she has), three tests spread out thru the semester (study required), and one paper. The philosophical topics she discusses are engaging and open discussion works great in this class.
Just be consistent.
Very straight forward intro class. Don't overthink the answers on the tests too much. The written paper is east at first glance but I would get ahold of the teacher to get a better idea to how she wants it done. Other than that it's a fine class
Professor Zhu is honestly pretty fun, she has her funny moments and overall is passionate over philosophy. I wouldn't say she's easy; just do the work, make sure to read what you have to read and you're basically golden.
Great professor, very organized and on time with the syllabus. Prepare to learn and see philosophy in a different perspective.
I loved her class!Professor Sherri is very insightful and passionate about philosophy.Once you take her class, you will never see things the same way again. She cares about her students and makes sure you understand the material. If you're open-minded and a deep thinker, this class is for you!
She is a nice lady and will work with students she covers the material each class, expectations are clear. Test were difficult because answers seemed similar sometimes.
She was very nice but when I took the class, it was hybrid so learning all on your own and just taking the exams in person. The homework was easy and I thought I was learning well, but completely failed the exams. This wasn't the prof's fault, just stating to give a heads up to others.
if you are a student who really needs lectures then this class is not for you. youre basically teaching yourself the majority of the time. she did have an SI but its still difficult when 90% of the time you have to do it on your own. i thought i was doing very well with the assignments but as soon as we took exams i would fail them
Provides very engaging and thought provoking lectures. Assignments are straight forward and not complicated. Great professor.
the sweetest and understanding teacher ! she teaches her lectures with humor and you are able to understand what you learn! Just make sure you do the assignments every week and the tests and hw are easy if you follow the case study and read the textbook !
The lectures are reviews of the he but more in depth to under stand the concept be prepare to read the hw questions are easy. The lectures help with your tests
This class was fairly interesting, you get to learn standpoint from both sides of an argument. Homework was assigned every week but is easy just need to two essays in regards of an argument and answer critical questions. The homework is worth very little, and the tests are worth 20 percent of your grade which focus on the review.
i enjoyed every lecture and the homework assignments are easy. we basically just read 2 essays and answered 15-ish questions every week. there were 3 tests and they were all multiple choice. take her class !!
Homework really wasn't that bad, as long as you put in effort you could get a good grade. There are three exams total and one term paper, but they're all fairly easy (just make sure to study for the exams and you should be good!) Professor Zhu was overall a great professor, who made class interesting and worth going to! Highly recommend
I really enjoyed taking her course if you're looking to take a class that is really deep thinking this is a class for you also it's not a difficult class
She made learning Philosophy very fun. Professor Zhu is passionate about what she teaches and loves to involve everyone in discussions.
Really nice professor. Homework was ok for the most part. Just pay attention in class.
Professor Zhu is an amazing teacher, the discussion topics are very interesting and she lectures in a way where you can understand the topic. Great class I highly recommend her class. Be prepared to read and do homework each week.
Absolutely loved taking Dr. Zhu for Phil 101, I'll definitely be taking her again for ethics
I took it online so it was mainly using the textbook & writing good notes. YT is your friend. Can use notes on exam. Do all the extra credit discussions!! Definitely not easy if you arent self disciplined. I got an A by doing all the assignments and EC & watch YT on concepts I was struggling with & doing the practice problems to study for exams.
10/10 highly recommend
Pretty cool class, fun participation and not too much homework
Dr. Zhu was an amazing instructor, Philosophy is a very open-ended course where opinions matter but there are specific opinions to each subject that matter towards what is right or what is wrong. Going to class every Monday evening was made easy just knowing that many lectures turned into class discussion and I look forward to taking another!
Professor Zhu is really a wonderful teacher. She always makes sure students are comfortable to share their opinions during discussions and does her best to explain concepts in a simple way. The lectures are easy to digest if you do the reading. The homework is easy too, just be sure to turn in all of them since you're only graded on HW & tests.
Professor is really passionate about the subject. Extremely engaging and pushes the envelope in terms of thought . Homework can be a lot but it easy to get a good grade on it if you complete it as instructed. Test is either online and proctored or in class and is not open book. Find the right study material. Overall it was a very enjoyable class.
This professor is calm and fun to take for class. The homework was thought-provoking, but thankfully not overwhelming. I would definitely take her class again.
Simple weekly assignments and class discussions were enjoyable
Pro Zhu has been one of my fav professors so far! Great at breaking down complex concepts into digestible examples/analogies. Homework is easy and due once a week but takes me ab two hours. Tests use very specific language so it is important to study the PowerPoints and assigned reading. She does provide study guides! Overall very kind and calm.
Take her class! Mrs. Zhu is so kind, passionate and funny! There's reading, homework assignments, power points, group activities and 3 tests. I really appreciated how she encouraged us to think for ourselves.. I would definitely take again!
She grades very easy. Just write your opinion and make sure you write enough lines and you get full credit. Even the paper was like this. The test is the only hard part. she does give a study guide and you have access to all of them from the start of the semester so you know what to study. The in class discussions are very fun and are the best part.
Great professor, highly recommended!
Would highly recommend Professor Zhu. She ensures that each chapter and philosophical question is thoroughly understood before moving forward. I would also say you should interact in the class, it helps you understand the concepts and lectures. My next course will definitely be with her.
She is a very nice teacher, she knows philosophy and explains it very well. Like staking her class.
Very easy class if you participate and do all your work~ Study guides are super clear and make it easy to pass the test
As a topic that I had no prior experience with, this professor did a great.
ONLINE A decent amount of Hw, it's multiple choice and you only have 2 attempts (Answers are shown after the first attempt). 3 Exams Microphone and Camera Required. On modules, there are example videos, practice problems, and other examples that may help, and also the textbook is required but you need to pay $50 or more.
Professor is passionate and kind! Work load is not super heavy, however the testing is what is difficult. Worries too much on wording the question a specific way rather than testing your knowledge and study guides don't help too much... would be careful as it affects your grade a lot!
I love all the topics we talked about in class. They were all very interesting and I believe thats what kept me focus in class. Homework was very easy too. Exam are easy too as long as you study the study guide for like a couple hours. Honestly the beat class I taken so far.
Professor Zhu was extremely helpful in helping me with my work and I don't think that she should change
Welcoming during discussions and keeps to the task at hand. Gives students freedom of there views without any judgement. Stick to the material and you shouldn't have a problem. Responds in a timely fashion to emails and/or concerns. If this is your major you definitely want to take her class as she is very thorough in explaining the material.
~~This is an easy class. (Wink wink) (IYKTYK) Loved this course and wish it had been longer! Super brain workout. I want to buy the book from the course and keep it for personal use. Professor Zhu made this online course so easy, IMO.The modules were laid out in a step-by-step process. It can be hard, but do not stop until you figure it out!
I was scared to take this class but Professor Zhu was easy going, easy weekly assignments, 1 paper, 3 tests with very helpful study guides. No final. Did not try to brainwash anyone but did give clear worldview examples.
A professor who leaves her students with something to think about and a newfound appreciation for the world.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS! Professor Zhu is amazing and the assignments are easy and clear to understand. You do need to study for the test or you will fail!
This professor is a good professor really nice and funny. Not once was she ever mean or rude in any way. Participation is very much required because she does group discussions in class but they are helpful to understand the material better. Attendance is requires to really understand the concepts which are hard to understand from just reading.
Professor Zhu was wonderful! As someone who had zero knowledge of philosophy before this course & was solely taking it to fulfill credits, I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this course! Professor Zhu is very organized and not a difficult grader. There is a weekly assignment, three tests, and a paper. You will have lots of fun in this class
As long as you do every homework, tests, and assignments the class is pretty straight forward.
Homework was easy. I did struggle to understand test questions so jsut prepare for that.
The lectures were short but easy to follow. Gave a lot of time to discuss the topic(s). We had 1 research paper and gave information with enough time prior to its due date. She made herself available after class, she showed that she cares for her students. Lectures were fun and very interactive. One of my favorite classes this semester.
that she is very kind.
SherriZhu is a great philosophy professor. She REALLY knows her stuff and was able to answer multiple questions with such ease. She also shared real life experiences that were incredibly moving. She has an incredible memory, is extremely kind and very respectful.Philosophy isn't an easy class and having a professor like SherriZhu was such a blessing.
Professor Zhu was great, for what it's worth, I took an asynchronous class. Homework, assignments, and tests are pretty clear. Discussion board graded pretty heavy IMO. Would take her classes again.
Fall 2023 - in-person. Lecture heavy with group participation every class. 3 test total with 1 paper. Homework is full credit as long as you follow the instructions. Copy of the book can be found online.
A very fun professor not a whole lot of assignments and they are not very difficult anyway and try their absolute hardest to make the lectures interesting.
Very fun class and her lectures were as entertaining as possible and the assignments were not difficult at all just a little time consuming.
Just make sure to complete all your assignments on time because late work isn't acceptable and she makes that very clear. There are 3 tests and you are live recorded when taking each test but you are able to use notes and the textbook on each test which helps out a ton! Pretty tech savvy and was a pretty easy course.
She is a very straightforward, and honest person. Make sure you do your homework and listen the recommendations she always is giving.
Sherri Zhu is a top tier professor. She clearly knows what she is talking about, while making it fun to learn. She is entirely understanding if something comes up and is willing to help out in any way she can. Although I got a C, don't pay attention to that. I was over run with a ton of other classes and quite honestly stopped studying in this one.
Sherri makes the lectures fun and engaging. She's very knowledgeable and understanding, but the workload can be time-consuming. Unstuckstudy AI was a great study tool to supplement the course material.
So much work like 14 just due for one day, yes, they post the assignments days before but it still a lot if you are taking other classes. grades kind of bad and you NEED a computer that has a camera bc she takes test that you show your screen when taking test and also your face.
Overall great class, try to finish work within the first few days of it being assigned, as the work comes in big sets which could be time-consuming. the curriculum of the class itself is challenging, study extra hard for tests. you can communicate any issues to the teacher, with complications she will work with you to pass, don't procrastinate.
This teacher didn't really teach much, almost all of the learning is done through another website. She does not accept late assignments whatsoever. A lot of students in this class were struggling, not only myself, and this was expressed in the weekly discussion posts but no help was really given.
If you're a working student, get ready to be overwhelmed by the amount of requirements you need to accomplish per week. Around 7ish each week and the deadline would always be friday. On exam week you're only going to have the exam as the requirement for the week but the following week after, YOU GET DOUBLE THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE WEEK(14/15)
