She is THE best Humanities teacher you will EVER have. No, her class is not a blow off class, but you most certainly leave her class with a higher understanding of the Humanities than when you arrived. Also, she is more than fair, but that's not to say she's a push over. I am taking CUST with her.

This class should be a requirement for all incoming freshman. The information taught regarding sex, race, and gender will serve as important tools throughout ones life. I found the professor to be very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The subjects were challenging at times, but that is what made it so interesting and exciting.

Let me just point a few things out: I have never in my whole life been loved by teacher like i have with mrs.boyd and mr.perkins. they love all of us and for those who say she is a b**** and what not, its probably cuz you couldn't handle the class and are lazy. college is not suppose to be easy, its suppose to make you think. duh!!

I really enjoyed this class. It was very enjoyable passionate and a wonderful learning experience.All you have to do is participate and do the work and you will enjoy the outcome of your grade.I promise if you take this class you will never look at the world the same way.You will look at the world with a better understanding. Mrs. Boyd is a very helpfull and caring professor. She is willing to help anyone. She always tells you whats on her mind. Opinions are always excepted in her class. A wonderfull professor! You'll miss out if you don't take her class.

This professor changed my life. She opened my mind to so many new ideas, and to reality. She is very opinionated, but she refuses to allow her students to keep quiet about their own opions. This class was always entertaining, and I never looked at the clock.

umm boyd is awesome. she should get a raise or tenure or something. anyone who rates this teacher bad or thinks this class is hard is going to have a much harder time when you get out of NLC and into a real university. good luck and stop making awesome teachers look bad.

This was the best class ever! At first, I was afraid because you have to speak in front of everyone. But the class became close and I looked forward to getting to know everyone. Prof Boyd encourages you to voice your opinion, but to listen to others too! I learned so much. A must take class.

Her Cultural Studies class is definately inspirational,challenging, addresses controversial issues.All in all, her class will expand your way of thinking.Sherry is an excelent professor, should anyone think otherwise then they are not ready for college

Not the instructor for lazy, uninterested students who want a free ride. She keeps you busy busy and you must earn your grade. There are group projects and you have to attend a play. Prof. Boyd knows her stuff and wants you to know it too. Take only if you love learning.

Professor Boyd is very knowlegeable about the material in her courses. She has a great teaching dynamic. You WILL learn a lot from her, but it will be FUN!

Here is the deal. The class is just a realization that people avoid or choose not to talk about. It can help you remove the fear that we all have for self change. Just goes to show that an open mind can contribute to intelligence just as much as physics and chemistry. A stern reminder that everyone has problems just on different levels.

Mrs boyd is hard but if you shut up and just listen in the class keep ur opinions that differ from hers to urself u will be fine keep an open mind she brings alot of different things to the table but overall u will learn new things, make sure u read articles all quizzes come straight from readings so READ..

I took the learning community course. There is a lot of work but its fun and you'll get 2 core classes out of the way. If you don't like to talk about social issues, then you need this class ;) The 3 hour lecture flew by every time. When's the last time you knew everyone's name in class? She teaches personal responsibility and it shows.

Great instructor! She is fair and makes class interesting and fun. You do have to work a little to get an A. I took her Humanities class in a May mester. Don't be late! She takes off participation points.

Mrs Boyd, is not someone you can just run over she say what she mean and mean what she say. i have to say she knows her material and her quality of teaching is at the highest level of exellence. in order to pass her class you have to read the material and most importantly show for class. she was always fair and willing to help. i would recommend he

I loved her class! She is an amazing woman overall. I learned so much in her class. If you can get a spot in her classroom, you are a lucky student. She expects participation and hard work from you but it is more than worth it. You will learn things from her and from your classmates that will change you and that will stay with you forever.

Amazing woman!!! Can not say enough about her. If you give the slightest amount of care she will bend over backwards. I could care less about Humanities before this and since I took her class I have changed Majors. More than liberal with EC and assignment assistance.

Most of our lectures or on doing our work. I do ALL my work but have only pulled a B on the last couple of quizzes b/c she wastes lecture time on lazy students. If you?re lazy and just want to act stupid PLEASE don?t take this class! You?ll waste her time AND the time of students who are working their butts off! Great prof. for those who try.

Professor Boyd is one of the few professors who truly cares about her students. She's tough, but fair, and yes--she expects you to do your work. If you open yourself up to what this class can do for you, then you can get more than a grade out of it.

Great Teacher but a ton of work! You have to really commit to this class and you still will probably get a C+. I did great on everything minus the online test and got a low grade. Again she is awesome but she is really passionate and wants you to be passionate as well. I wouldn't say not to take her but just be prepared to hustle.

Best teacher I have ever had! Extremely helpful and fun. She does ask for a good amount of work, but it's not that hard. Well worth while! Smaller the class the better. She is freakin fantastic! Can't wait to take her for another class!

I took the online class and it was super easy. Half of the grade is based on two field trips. The tests can be difficult, but she offered lots study help - and since it was online, I got to use my book (Which is fabulous because the chapters are way to long to memorize)

Took this course for May Mester. When I look at the syallbus, I was like WHAT in 3 weeks. WOW!! Well, I am happy to say that I passed this course. You just have to discipline yourself, set aside you social life for at least 3 wks. You can do it. Took it online. Did not think I would gain anything from this. However, I did and more. AWESOME Prof!!

Only take this if you're a Fine Arts major, take a different art class if you need the credit. Her class requires A LOT of work. I actually enjoyed her class and reflecting on the reading and discussing the arts. The museum trip was cool. The projects are A LOT of time and effort. But if you care about the arts you'll enjoy her class.

She is great professor and her class is interesting. After attending her class you will see thing different and have a better understanding of thing around you. Just be prepared to speak a lot to make your point clear.

I LOVED HER CLASS! it was one of the most interesting classes i have ever taken. You learn about racism, sexism, and how media plays a role in all of it. Mrs. Boyd is the most kind woman you would ever meet, and she is also very understanding when life problems happen as long as you talk to her. The class is not hard, but you have to do your work!

This class involves a lot of quizzes and exams which only add up to small amount of points. The two final essays are what contribute to the entire grade. Overall this class is a tab frustrating due to all of the work you have to do. But it feels great getting it over with.

I took this class as it was a requirement, but the Prof. was a gem. She not only cares about her student's work but also as individuals. You have 3-4 personal meetings with her as well. She wants you to do your best. There is a group project and a personal project. Quizzes in every class and you have to read A LOT. But overall a great experience.

Even though this is an online course, if you apply yourself, and adhere to the deadlines . You should do very well. Dr. Boyd is very passionate and caring , who takes a personal interest in seeing her students succeed.

I absolutely adore Professor Boyd! She is so kind and genuinely cares about her students. She stayed on top of me the entire semester whenever I started slacking. She makes sure to give plenty of material that helps with tests and quizzes. I would take her again without a doubt.

Professor Boyd was great! She was very understanding and communicated a lot. We did a lot of reading, but it was very interesting to me. I really appreciated her compassion and understanding related to extensions. I cannot see how she is anything less than a 5. I appreciate this course and I enjoyed it. She was very responsive and helpful.

LOVED THIS PROFESSOR. she is very understanding and if you communicate she actually understands. she makes coming to class very fun but also this class was very warm and welcoming and so is she. you are going to have to read the textbook and put in the time and effort but also do presentations which aren't too bad. over all would def take her again

Professor Boyd is a great professor. Just be ready to read the McGraw chapters, especially for the tests. You'll get a lot of work, so be organized in her class. She's also accommodating when it comes to answering questions. However, her eight-week course was pretty smooth

I took this course for 8 weeks. It was an engaging and a fun course overall. If you are willing to read every week and be attentive in class this class will be easy. The syllabus is easy but the professor is a tough grader yet you get so many chances to make extra credit. So if you try you can get A easily.

She really cared about me and helped me a lot.
