Great professor, she doesn't want anyone to fail.
Good teacher, explains well, tests are easy. Helps you if you have questions
Fair tests/grading. Easy to understand. Willing to help students who are having trouble.
Not true. She has no care if people in her class are struggling, and will not slow down. I ended up with a C due to many hours of teaching myself the material. She does a horrible job explaining Math. Homework assignments are required and take hours.
She isn't very helpful, but she is willing to help if you just want to get by and pass the class. Homework assignments are long and actualy count for points.
She gives the pretense that she wants to help everyone, with an end result of making the student feel inadequate. She is extremely unapproachable, and when you do come to her, she makes you feel that it was amazing you got this far.
The homework was ridiculous, and there's no better word to describe her than just plian mean. She didn't like helping particular students and would actually roll her eyes when they would ask questions. Proceed with caution.
Very difficult and long homework assignments. I got a B but only after getting to know another Math 148 professor pretty well in the tutor room. Shes Ok and full of smiles, but you have to have to have ALOT of time to devote to understand the material and do the homework.
well the math is very easy and I always enjoed it. But for some reason this teacher gave me a B which I was not happy. She explain very good but the grading process not very good.
She has easy tests, but her assignments are challenging. She presents herself with a stuck up "Im better than you attitude". She picks on and patronizes certain people in class who have the guts to ask questions. She doesn't explain math very well
She grades really tough, she comes off as unapproachaqble but if you take the time to talk to her she will help you with your problems.
Class moves pretty fast. Her tests are not easy if you do not have a good understanding of the material. She also grades her tests harshly. Homework assignments can be difficult and take longer than they should. Has an I am better than you attitude.
very clear voice. quite helpful and understandable. her homework assignments are little bit hard though. however, her exams not really hard.
Her homeworks were hard, really easy tests, clear voice, always willing to help
She was very nice, and she was always willing to help students with problems. Her tests are pretty easy, but the homework assignments are insane!
I love maths... well atleast i did, then i took this class! She is a horrible teacher. If you did not take 148 and got placed in this class, like me, you will not be successful at all. She was unwilling to help, sent me to read the book, told me that I should have learned the stuff in 148. She seemed ****. Cant teach! Thinks shes better than all.

I loved math untill I had this class. Homework seemed to be more important than learning. When I got to 150 I didnt know how to do a lot of stuff because I was tring to get the work done, but I wasnt learning. She is nice but when you feel like your not getting anywhere it does not help.
BE prepared for this class by taking teh previous classes through this school, if you transfer in and the school you transfered from taught the material differently that is your problem. Not very helpful.
Shes a nice lady but between the yelling as she taught (in a classroom that only holds 30) and the confusing lectures it made the class harder than it needed to be.
I am an A Student in math. change the Class or drop it.bad teacher
Teachers like her ruin math for everyone, if you enjoy being put down and made stupid take her class. She goes through material very quickly and when I asked for help after class she told me that maybe I should change my major.
She was such a mean person, her voice is so loud and annoying! She makes you feel so stupid and everything is your fault.I don't understand why professors like that could still have jobs. The biggest mistake is to take her class...RUN!!!!
she subed in for only one class and oh my God her voice wish i had earplugs that day
This class is just awful. I had been denied aid from her on 3 separate occasions, and told that I was instructed by EVERY other math teacher wrongly for showing my work. I wrote a letter to the department chairman and nothing was done. I went 5 weeks of tutoring and classmate studying and even that didn't help. Never take a class taught by her!
A little bit of an ego to say the least, but she teaches the material quite well. If you can get past her ego, then learning in her class shouldn't be all that hard. Gives good test reviews but writes rather difficult tests; yet she is a very easy grader. Homeworks and quizes are rather easy, which will help your grade some.
I thought math was my favorite subject until I took her class. This was the most awful teacher I have ever had. She was so mean to the students and made them feel dumb.I was actually scared of her to ask any questions because she'd be negavtive about it. She really thought that she was better/smarter than everyone, unbelievable! don't take her class
Bad And Bad
Prof Crawford was extremely helpful and offered outside help on a regular basis. There was always ample time in class for examples and lots of questions. She was more than fair with grading and material from the exams were representative of in-class examples and homework assigned. Great teacher.
listen to what people are saying!!!!!!! RUN!!! even if you never miss a day she will confuse you and if you did not retain 100% of math 148 to keep up you will have to relearn it yourself. retook math 150 with another prof. and it was like a whole new class!! RUN!!!!!!!!
I loved math and it came so easy to me until this class. Her quizzes def. arent like her notes and what she goes over. She was probably the worst teacher I've had... She's very unhelpful.
Wow, her test and what she had you study and take notes on where completely different.
I'm great at math, but I ended up with my first ever B in it in Math 104 of all things. She is unwilling to answer questions on the homework, and is completely computer illiterate to boot. Our first hybrid class meeting was mostly spent watching her trying to figure out how to login to her account...avoid if can, she's very condescending as well.
she is good. She is helpful as long as u study. Alright math 104's please study harder !!! Thats all it it. Sherry isnt bad at all..
Horrible teacher. I loved math before taking her clas, she totally spoiled it for me. She is not willing to help you if you are struggling. Maybe you might be able to do good if it's the only class you are taking and you spend many hours in the tutoring rooms and at home studying. I would never recommend this class. Run!!
Sherry is a great teacher. This is a hard class. You have to make the effort to ATTEND class (if you skip a lot you will miss a lot), do the homework, and study for the tests and quizzes. She is more than willing to help students on her own time if you are confused about something and need clarification.
She is a great teacher. She goes out of her way to help. She uses MYMATHLAB it bites! if i had not had problems with it i would have got no lower than a B.
this teacher really sucks. she doesn't explain things very well and she is very slow and takes up the whole time when it is not necessary.
organized, clear presentations. portfolio of class work kept--annoying but ultimately very useful. good notes and helpful if questions asked. she obviously likes math.
Sherry is an excellent teacher! I have had her for multiple Math classes and would definitely recommend her. She is always willing to help if you have a question. If you come to class and do the work, you will do well in the class.
She is a good teacher. A little rude and annoying but i would definitely recommend this class.
she wasn't helpful and took off points on test because she didn't like the way i explained things, but i had the right answer. i would not recommend her at all.
Kindness and understanding are the most important qualities in a teacher - when you're in kindergarten. Cmon, we're in college now. If you need coddling don't take her. Personally, I love this teacher! First math class I've ever had where the lightbulbs keep coming on and things are finally starting to make sense. Teaches the why, not just the how.
I usually get a B in math, but I just kept getting a D on her quizzes! She is tougher than other math teachers. She assigns a lot of practice hw,chooses tough word problems on math quizzes and tests, and she is a tough grader. Many think she appears somewhat rude and stuck up. She makes lots of mistakes when teaching too.
Class moves pretty fast so it's hard to keep up if you miss just one. Long h/w assignments and notes are nothing like what's on the quiz or tests. Many times my answers to a test have been right but seem to not like how I explained it in her way.other students had very similar answers to mine. Takes off too many points. Class average grade is poor.
UNFAIR grader. Worked on hw assignment with another student and we did the same steps but some how she took off 3 points off of his but only 1.5 off mine. Happens OFTEN. She also puts tricky questions that are hard on her quizzes and take home assignments. RUN IF YOU CAN!
This is the worst professor I've ever had. Almost the whole class dropped out because she was a terrible teacher. Makes the subject very confusing and just yells the whole class. Spent about 10+ hours of homework a week. Tests are impossible and the information is not covered in class. Stay clear of this horrible human being.
do not take this teacher! the most confusing teacher ever. she post-pone every test, quiz and homework. she teaches five different ways to do one problem which confusses everybody. stay away from this instructor!
Ended up with a 69% at end of quarter after final. Didn't round it to a 70% so that I could have at least passed. Now I have to pay more money and do the class all over again. Spent 10 hours on online hw every week that was only worth 10 pts. I'd only suggest her if you have nothing else going on in your scholastic career or life.
She is quite disorganized and doesn't use the textbook at all but you will need MyMathLab. She doesn't stick to the syllabus and writes all over the board instead of in an organized way. Very nice person though.
I Gotta be honest here. Take her class as last resort; if not don't even think about it! Confuses, loud voice for a small class, does NOT like when you get the answer right for a question she asks (will say the same answer to make it sound different). Also, does't keep up with class schedule.
She is a great and strict teacher.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR AS YOUR MATH TEACHER. PROFESSOR SHERRY IS A NICE LADY BUT SHE HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF CALCULUS. SHE IS THE MOST UNEDUCATED TEACHER EVER. TOOK HER FOREVER TO ANSWER ONE QUESTION!! DROPPED THE FIRST CLASS AND TOOK THE CLASS WITH "SCOTT THOMSON" AND I RECOMMEND YOU SCHEDULE MATH 1151 WITH HIM. VERY SMART AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND.
Ms. Crawford was a nice lady at heart, but tended to get annoyed when you asked questions. I found that every time I asked a question, she would avoid it and say that I should already know the answer. Tried office hours and had the same result. On top of it all, some of her review guides had wrong answers. I corrected her more than once.
She is very good teacher. However, prepare before come to class. She is very organized in the train of thought. She knows what she is teaching. Nonetheless, she makes quite a few mistakes. She is very helpful. She is very comprehensive. She is also very stubborn on the way she does things. I'd recommend taking her class.
I HIGHLY recommend that you do not take this course. The professor gives questions on the quiz/test/exam that are harder than the ones give on the review. Mildly impatient with questions. A mildly harsh teacher. On the other hand she would extend the due date on HW assignments whenever you ask. Plan on a lot of self work w/ this teacher.
Took a hybrid class. Although you have a week to do HW, you have around 100 problems and it's all in MyMathLab. The test questions are more difficult than what's on the reviews. I got a 59% on a test that I thought I had a good understanding of. She's boring and slow to explain things. Don't take this class if you aren't mathematially inclinded!
This teacher is absolutely awful in the online course. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ONLINE COURSE AT ALL!-always changes duedates-doesn't respond to emails-didn't get tests back to review-lessons were extremely hard to follow-one hw included problem from future chptr we hadn't even gotten to yet-constantly felt like a failure in this class. worst so far
I took her for an online class, and it was horrible, I did poorly on exams and test, there were no reviews, things were not clear, she was not helpful. I would not recommend taking her for an online class
Just took a hybrid for this class, Sherry practically yells during all of her lectures. Assignments due in class were hard and unrelated to the MML homework, and even though each week you had 100+questions due, they only counted as a total 100 points out of 800. Tests were heavily weighted, I got an A on all my homework and still failed the class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH SHERRY! She's rude when you ask for help, and if you don't word something in her way then its automatically wrong! She likes to take random points off of quizzes and test for nothing, and refuses to give out A's or B's.
She does not tech. 1 question per section and the test at the end of the week.
Sherry is always so passionate about actual learning. She's the best math teacher I've ever had. If you want to learn take her classes
She was the most helpful teacher I had this term!
Online class. Weekly homework assignments and quizes due on MyMathLab. The lessons she provides are a little confusing to read by computer sometimes, but if you do the homework and quizzes on MyMathLab, you will do well and understand the material on the exams. Quick to respond to emails and questions.
She is a good teacher who cares and is willing to help if you are willing to work.
She does not do a decent job at explaining the math material at all.
Sherry was a great teacher. She made sure to answer any question you had and she thoroughly explained everything to help you. Taking notes from the textbook before class will really help you do well in classes and will help if you need to ask questions. However the textbook is not necessary, Sherry will give many papers that will help, too.
Covers a lot of material in class so don't miss class unless you're ahead. Math lab homework is very time consuming with a ton of problems but not worth very many points. She tends to give petty points when grading, so if you can make up anything shell give partial credit. Only major complaint is she can be very degrading when people ask questions.
You will lose points for things that she said not to worry about, MyMathLab is very time consuming and not worth many points, will call out your mistakes loudly in front of everyone.
Lectures are slow and boring even for a math class. She gives you examples to do most of them time which wastes a lot of time because you aren't sure how to even start it. Then the quizzes and tests are nothing like the examples most of the time. She gives you study guides for the tests but then the test is different. Not a fan of her speaking too.
Would recommend. She is very knowledgeable and willing to admit when she doesn't know the answer to a question. In class, she gives group quizzes that are very hard, solo ones that are fairly average, and the tests are also fairly average. The final is a lot though, because it's literally everything from the beginning until the last lecture.
Sherry is a AMZING professor! She is detailed in lecture and explain things well. She will explain thing over and is very happy to help. Her grading is fair and you know what to expect on quizzes and exams. She cares about her student success! Just go to class, do your homework, study and you will pass her class. Highly recommended!!
Grades quizzes and tests very petty. Even if you study hard prepare to get the same grade you had gotten on your last tests and quizzes.
I took her class in the summer, meaning the annoyingness of learning math was cut short by three weeks. While Im sure she could be a decent teacher to some, she does not know how to accommodate for different types of learners. If you do not understand something she will continuously shove only one way to solve the problem down your throat.
If you aren't the best at math I would not recommend taking her class. I was in the blended class and she would go over one problem during the whole class period and make the review sheet for the exam and nothing would actually be on the exam.
I took Math 1116 (Math for the Liberal Arts/Quantitative Reasoning) with Professor Eyens. She is not a bad teacher, but the class itself was very focused on reasoning it out yourself so there wasnt a ton of instruction; you just got a work packet to figure out with a group. However, she will answer any questions you have and grades fairly.
Tests felt like totally different material than study guides
I had her for college algebra and purposefully signed up for her trig class. She's great and is accessible outside of class, responds to emails quickly. As long as you come to class, you should definitely pass her class.
She barely teaches you anything. She will just write down the problem and move on without really explaining. If you are good at teaching yourself maybe you'll do alright.
She was absolutely amazing, she clearly lays everything out for you in the syllabus and is always there to make sure all of her students will pass her class. As long as you show up for class she will offer you a lot of help. She is truly passionate about her job and everyone's education!
Her grading scale is very flawed. In the beginning we were told as long as your reasoning is reasonable to how you acquired your answer then you will still be seen as reasonable and awarded credit. Then when we are given tests, if your reasoning is wrong then your answer is wrong. I find her to be a poor and immensely flawed, can't recommend.
She was chill but i 100% would not take this professor again. She gives a quiz EVERY WEEK. like who does that? Overall she is there to help and answers any questions before she begins her lecture every class. The course itself is just hard.
Professor Crawford-Eyen was very helpful by guiding us in the right direction. This is a Quantitative Reasoning class that highlights critical thinking by using everyday scenarios along with college math to solve problems. Write down each step to show how you got an answer and you'll get a lot of credit even if the answer isn't exactly right.
She is the most degrading person that I have ever met. She wont even answer my questions and gets mad at me. Like, that is your job. She expects everyone to know everything about math. Some people don't really care for math and everyone still has to take the class, no matter what major it is.
Shes nice, you can tell she cares but only when you initiate first. For the online class, we get a homework and quiz each week. We met online 2 times a week, she is a hard grader and if the problem is not done the way she shows, points are taken. She is nice however, and good at the material she lectures. I suggest going to the online classes.
Shes very patient and understanding. Shes smart and knows what shes talking about. Shes a fair grader. She is good at understanding her students and explaining the material to them in a way they can understand best. Her office hours is where I learned the most from her. She is extremely talented when it come to teaching and assigning practice.
Difficult class, but if you attend every lecture and do the homework assignments you will be fine. She is willing to help, but sometimes she does not explain things the best, or she words it kind of confusing. She is nice, but her teaching style just was not for me, I had a hard time sitting through most classes.
As someone who doesn't like math, this professor made it accessible and honestly quite fun. She clearly cares about both what she teaches and her students. classes weren't boring, and they didn't feel long. The almost weekly quizzes really helped with understanding what you still needed to master for the midterms and finals. Would absolutely take!
Professor Crawford-Eyen wasn't the worst professor in the world, however there is a lot of improvement to be made. She flew through the coursework while just barely explaining it. The work made sense in class, but nothing made sense during the almost non-stop quizzes and tests. Being tutored throughout the whole course, I still ended with A D
I dropped out of this class 6 weeks in. She is really rude to her students and expects students to know what she is talking about without explanation. Her quizzes don't make sense and don't really match up with the classes. Her grading scales make no sense. Don't take her class if you don't want stress.
I took her College Algebra class and she is very kind but not a very good teacher. She never really explained herself she just wrote things on the board. Lots of studying for this class if you want to end up with a good grade. She is a very generous grader and will give you at least some points as long as you try on the problem which was nice.
If you take this professor be prepared to put in many hours outside of class to get a good
Sherry Crawford made the class very tough due to her being a very harsh grader taking points off little things quizzes would be very difficult due to her adding 3 to 4 units and be 50 points on it there was a point where we were doing 4 units 1 week spent one day on one unit this took place near toward the final both tests would be all you learned
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS! So hard. Made my first semester of colledge incredibly stressful. class is like 2 hours. She dosent really teach and when she does it dosent make sence. Even the really smart people were struggling.
Her explanations were very clear.
Very nice professor, she would work out problems on the board if you asked. On tests+quizzes she usually gave credit if you used calculus theories+notation correctly but messed up the algebra. Attend and participate (don't be on your phone) and you will already be doing better than 30-50% of the people taking her class
Professor Crawford-Eyen is hit or miss - the lectures can be confusing, but attending them and doing the weekly quizzes/homework is key. Utilize all resources, including unstuck study, to succeed in this tricky but manageable course.
Sherry won't adapt to learning access needs that disrupt her routine and was vague, noncommittal, and largely ineffective. She'll likely approve major accommodations. If you don't fit her default, expect to navigate the course on your own. That said, If you're not a special needs student, her lecture style might well suit your learning style.
She seems like a great person and seems to care about her students and their success in her class. Although, there seems to be a gap between what she emphasizes on and explains in class and what the assessments cover. Definitely some confusion in the class structure and assignments. I have never done this badly in a class. I do not recommend.
Overall decent professor. Sometimes was unclear in lectures and even mis-graded some quizzes/tests. Not terrible but not great
