I heard stories about her-she even calls herself "the slasher" because of her high failing rate. however, if you read your notes, read the chapters at least once, and visit lifewire's websites, you're in like flint. i've lost track of the xtra credit. i can get a 60 on the final & still have an A!

if you go to class, study and actually try to understand the material you can make an A. but you can't just memorize. she's also great with extra points!

She is a wonderful teacher! She either writes out the notes or puts them on blackboard for you to print and fill in. Everything she tests on is either in the notes or in the book. She gives many chances to earn extra credit, and she always has study sessions outside of class right before tests.

the first 2 tests in this class are a little hard, she tries to get alot of people to drop at the beginning. but if you stick it out to the end the last 2 tests are super easy and you get TONS of bonus points. just take notes and study and you will do fine

The first two test is very hard. After that the class gets very easy, tons of bonuses and easier tests.

She is a great teacher. She will prepare you for microbiology if you have to take it.

She explains the material well. The wording of her tests can easily confuse you, so read the questions slowly. Gives TONS of bonus points that can pull your grade up by two letter grades. She's always ready to answer questions, and help you if she can.

Seems very hyper and sometimes goes too fast. Very easy though tells you when your going to have pop quizzes and a easy grader.

This is just an orientation course--rather a complete waste of time. Sherry is really cool and tells you the facts you need to know. She hates it when people talk while she's talking.

Great teacher and great course. I learned so much and it will prepare me for microbiology. It is a shame that some students talked during the class. They don't realize what they were missing.

The class is OK, she is a good teacher,but THE TEST ARE HELL!yes, she puts d notes on the net but the wording on the test completely throws you off. Multiple choice,2 wrong answers and 2 right answers...choose ur pick(probably the wrong right answer). 4 test,the second is d hardest. I studied for them all and made no higher than an 80. GOOD LUCK!

She is very easy if you study. She LOVES to give extra points and sometimes will give them just for being in class. Doesn't teach stuff you don't need to know.

She gives very hard tests. There will be no curving in her class, but she does give many extra points. She is a great explainer; joining her class will cause you to LEARN(especially if you plan on getting a grade better than F) Oh yea, class averages are about 55; highest score on last test was 92!

Made two 78's, two 84s on the tests(which were pretty hard; I really studied), but still passed with a pretty high A (95 average) because she gives SO many extra points! Go to her review sessions before tests, she gives away many test answers.. She's a really cool teacher; sit up close where people don't talk- she can really hold your attention...

She's a really good bio teacher. She lectures well, and she's always available to ask questions and stuff after or outside of class... The tests are hard, but if you study the material you will do well... She gives lots of bonus points... when there is a quiz, go to class! usually if you take it she gives you the points as bonus on the test.

I LOVED this instructor!! Her tests are extremely hard, but if you attend class and review your notes a lot, you should have no worries. She is very thorough, informative and very willing to answer questions. She does not tolerate talking in class though. A LOT of extra credit given in her class. I think i can pull my C up to an A.

do not mess around and take this class as an elective like i did. if your not a biology or nursing major then this class will blow you out your seat....i survived this class on bonus points alone

Wonderful teacher! It is a very hard class, but if you show up, and do your homeowrk, you will pass. You can make a D on all of your tests and still pass. She gives a lot of extra points, so don't worry if you make a bad grade. She is a good listener.

Attendance was not neccessary, but pop quiz points added up. Very hard class but with extra point you will survive. I recommend Mrs Sherry's class, she has a great personality and likes her students.

Great teacher who is teaching a very difficult subject. Don't confuse that. She doesn't try to fail anyone, and she gives more bonus points than any other teacher I've seen. Biology 102 is for Nursing and Biology majors-don't take it if you don't have to-but if you do, then take it with Krayesky. If you want to talk go outside and she won't care.

She takes extremely challenging material and turns it into something that everyone can understand. She fully explains everything. The only thing that makes this class hard is all the memorization. There are about 6 chapters on the tests, and so much information to memorize. She is a fantastic teacher, I would definetely take her again!!!

She's a good teacher. The first test helps you get a feel for the class and you definitely do better after that. Her notes are online so you can print the power-points ahead of class and you don't have to take as many notes. Reading the book is definitely important to do well on tests. She's interested in what she teaches- makes the class enjoyable

I think that her lectures were easy to follow, and she stayed after class to answer questions. By going to every class and paying attention you can get a D. Her tests were pretty difficult, but if you know what you're talking about you should get the grade you want. It's a hard subject, but I think she was a good instructor. I'd take her again.

the final replaces your lowest grade of 4 exams. she made it possible to extra points on each exam by putting extra questions.

Sherry is an amazing Biology teacher. She goes above and beyond the call of duty to help YOU. The material is hard no matter who you take but Sherry has a way of explaining so you can understand. "IN PAINSTAKING DETAIL!" LOL... Dr. Mire is a very nice lady but i had to drop her the first time. My advice to all STUDY STUDY STUDY and READ EVERYTHING!

of course biology is hard material, but she really does a good job explaining it. the test are all multiple choice and she gives the notes. she is a really nice, helping teacher

I completely regret taking her. She would make you read 6 chapters for each test. Most of the students in the class were failing at a 60 average. So, that tells you something. Trust me there are much easier biology teachers who will actually not make u read an entire textbook and give YOU EXTREMELY TRICKY MEMORY QUESTIONS. Do not take her.

This is a very hard class. I only took it because I had to, but I really hate science of any kind. However, she makes the material as interesting as possible, and she uses every opportunity to show how the study of biology is important for all non-majors to understan too. She is funny, engaging, out-going, and readily available for questions.

Very difficult class but she makes it as easy as possible. She uses real world examples to make the material more relatable. Usually about 5 chapters per test. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. READ THE BOOK. PowerPoints aren't everything.

You will have to study to earn a good grade, but you're gonna have to for any biology. If you get the chance, TAKE HER!

SHE IS DIFFICULT. and if you aren't willing to put in about 3 hours a day toward studying and reading you will not pass her tests. On the brighter side she is totally helpful and willing to work with you. You will learn so much in this class but if biology isn't your major I wouldn't advise taking her. This class is hard. You must study and attend class regularly because the test include lectures, the slides, and most importantly the book. All of her test are very specific, she makes the test to make sure you know your stuff. She truly is a great teacher she gives great examples and gives extra points when possible. Hope this helps. Although this class is challenging, Krayesky is an amazing teacher. She knows exactly what she's talking about. It is extremely important that you read the textbook to do well in this class. I would recommend reading the chapters more than once. Altogether though, not a bad class. Good grades are attainable for those who are prepared to work.

She is a good teacher. she explains things very well but also expects you to study the textbook. I would encourage reading the chapters twice. Once before she goes over it in class and once again before the test. The class is time consuming but if you actually want to learn, i would encourage you to take her, mainly if you want to go to med-school

She keeps the class entertaining, but speaks to you at your level to where it might help you understand. Same for the powerpoints. I cannot stress enough that you HAVE to read the book to make a good grade on the tests! The tests are harder than you think they will be! To make a decent grade...read before, read after! 2 Hrs. a day needed!!

Ms. Sherry is an awesome person, but w/that said she is a VERY hard teacher. Going to class is not mandatory but HIGHLY recommended if you want to pass with a C or better. Tests were mainly powerpoint and lecture, I didnt even open my book. Plan to be stressed out for the semester, but it is manageable!

Took Ms. Sherry for lab, had a really great time! She is a lot more easy going in lab than lecture. Def recommend her for Bio 112 Lab!!

Took this class over the summer and Krayesky really isn't as bad as these reviews make her seem. I recommend reading the chapters to go along with the power points. She tends to go through everything pretty quickly but she really does want everyone to do well. 4 tests and a comprehensive final. If you have any bit of a science brain, you'll do fine

This class is very difficult. If you're a biology wiz then take it. You come out knowing your stuff but she test on EVERYTHING. Reading the chapters are MANDATORY to pass. She really is a great teacher but don't expect to take her class and have any free time. I also wouldn't recommend her if you haven't taken biology in a year or two.

hands down, the best bio110 professor you can have! the course is definitely not an easy A though. she moves at a fast pace but knows what she is talking about and is easy to understand! as a biology major, i look forward to hopefully having her again as a professor.

READ THE MATERIAL BEFORE CLASS. She lectures like you already know the information, because reading before is recommended. Do the connect assignments, they help. Print out the slides and do the homework even though its not mandatory. She helps you if you take advantage of her office hours. Over all amazing teacher, although she is tough!

THIS IS THE BEST TEACHER YOU CAN TAKE FOR BIO 110. Read the chapters and do learnsmart and you'll definitely make an A. Try to make connections for example it was never said in class ATP is a nucleotide but it was on a test since we're supposed to know the structure. Application! I'm a first time student and I've heard that Sherry Krayesky was very hard. Oh contraire! If you're looking for an easy A, she's not the teacher for you. She's an awesome professor and yes you have to work for your grade, but she is MORE than passable and will get you where you need to be. She set's up SI tutors to help her students as well.

She tests hard, the book is essential to this class. Buy the application she swears by (Learnsmart), it's the main reason I passed. She's super funny, and I would say the best teacher for this class. You may have a harder time making the grade, but you'll be set for the rest of the biologies you need to take.

I found that cramming the day of the tests was the only way i could pass. The material is interesting but there's just so much of it. The quizzes every day in class were probably the hardest part. If you don't read the book you'll fail. She's really nice and funny and uses examples you can relate to.

Professor Krayesky was the most amazing instructor I've come across in a long time. She thoroughly enjoys what she's doing and cares for her students. She gets a bad rep because of how hard the COURSE is by default. She always said "You earn the grade you deserve". It's not easy, you have to work for it. If you're not a bio major, don't take 110!

Mrs. Krayesky was an awesome teacher, just extremely difficult. I wish I had known earlier on in the semester that I needed to read the book to pass, so definitely pay attention to that! She's pretty funny and if you need help, she'll give it to you. There are a TON of quizzes too, so make sure to keep up with the class and DON'T SKIP!

While biology is my strong subject, I didn't do well in this class because I didn't study and didn't do the homework. She frequently mentioned throughout the class that she has a study group and that she was more than willing to help you if you came to her. If I would have taken her up on the study group and help I might've actually passed.

Mrs. Sherry/Dr. Self is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had! She's passionate about the material and she conveys it in a way that is both interesting and comprehensible. Bio110 is an overall demanding course, but Mrs. Sherry does her part in teaching it. If the student does his/her part, there's no reason not to succeed!

This class was very difficult, but Mrs. Sherry made it fun. Her tests are difficult and you really have to work, but if you read, go to class, and do what you have to do you will pass. The biology mentors really do help! I wish I would have gone to them at the beginning of the semester.

Mrs. Krayesky was an amazing professor and I recommend her to everyone! She really made sure that she clearly explained things whether it was with a drawing or with props. And the cherry on top is that she is hilarious, always kept a my attention because I looked forward to everything she said. BUT STUDY EVERY DAY!!!

Absolutely an amazing professor! She will tell you exactly what is on the test in one way or another. I would record her lectures because many questions were verbatim what she said in class. Get Learnsmart and do the connect chapters, she doesn't grade it, but many questions come from there too. If I could take her again, I most definitely would!

Overall this class wasn't as bad as i expected. It's a biology course so it's not going to be easy. Class isn't mandatory but would recommend to go incase she gives a quiz. She takes your best 10 quizzes so try to get 10/10 if you can. read her powerpoint and objectives for each test.

I took this professor and she prepared me for anatomy and physiology with alceatore. If you do not want the degree you're taking this class for then change your major, this instructor is superb and did an awesome job but she expects you to be prepared and know the information.

I was told not to take her my first semester (Fall 2015) so I didn't. After finding out I had to retake the class for the spring I decided to take her anyway. It was the best decision I made. Study the PowerPoints, go to class, at least skim the chapters. I did fine and I'm so glad I took her. Would definitely take her class again.

Mrs. krayesky is a great professor. She's funny and cares about her students doing well. I come to her outside of class to look over my tests and she goes over questions that I got wrong so I can get them right for the final. She also helps me with my gardening because I need help :) She does make you work for your grade though.

AMAZING!! Bio110 is a hard class regardless of who teaches it, but Dr. Sherry helps you in every way possible and our class consistently had the highest test scores. She has taught the class for so long that she can give you so many ways to learn. I would take her every semester if I could. If you can get into her class, do it!

Krayesky was an amazing professor who really brought the material to life. There was a strong correlation b/w chapter reading and subsequent test scores. Quizzes should be a walk in the park, but really prepare for the tests! I took the night class and would not do that again, as it was difficult to stay focused after 2+ hours.

Love love love krayesky. Yes her class is difficult but that's the biology territory more than her. She gives several quizzes and metacognitove assignments both outside and in class but only keeps the highest 7-10 so it's not bad. Her tests can be tricky but arnt too bad. Her final is easier than any of her regular test, basic highschool knowledge.

Great professor. Read the chapters ahead of time. Take detailed lecture notes. Go to SI. You should be fine. Exams 2 & 4 are the hardest, give yourself a week or 2 to study. Metacog & quizzes are a easy 200 pts.

This was the best teacher I have had my entire life. she is always willing and eager to help. Her lectures are very detailed but easy to understand. she does move fast though. she is not an easy teacher but its worth it. This class can be intimidating at first, but once you get into a rhythm with the reading and note taking you will be fine. I read each chapter, took notes on the lectures and book, and did the learn smart and passed with an A. However, I don't think the learnsmart is really necessary to pass. My best tip is to read the book!!!!!

Take her, especially if you have to take BIO 220. One 110 prof will easy pass you but you will be failing Bio 220 aThe other Bio 110 prof will fail you. You will learn. She is nice, funny, loves her job and her students. She curves the heck out of that class. GO SEE HER -1 on 1- if you are having problems. She will help you!

I read the textbook, practiced using Connect, rewrote my class notes, made flashcards, and attended every class. If you put in the work and study, you can do well. I ended up with an A in the class. She's very nice and wants everyone to do well in the class. Make sure you go to class--she hints at what to study for exams!!

I think Dr.K is a wonderful professor. Just pay attention to her lectures because she drops hints, read her slides, and skim through the book. Beware of exam 2 & 4. Go to SI tutoring with Nina bc it REALLY helps! All tests are multiple choice. 4 exams and a final. She gave us extra points for participation in class. I made a B because of exam 2

The best biology teacher I have ever had!! The class is not easy, but she makes the information interesting and gives you everything you need to pass the class. She gives plenty of quizzes and extra assignments to help your grade. I truly enjoyed her class and loved listening to her lectures.

Dr. Self is a very good lecturer and gives great analogies in order for you to make the connection. In order to make a good grade in this class you have to really work for it. You are given many opportunities to boost up your grade from quizzes, tests, in class assignments, and homework. I strongly recommend attending the SI sessions!

Dr. Self is a wonderful teacher. I read each chapter slowly, digesting all of the information, but she would always add something extra in her lectures. Of course you have to read a lot, study the book and her powerpoints and her course objective in the syllabus, THINK, and sometimes even memorize. If you care about learning biology, take her!

Dr. Krayesky's wording was confusing at times, but she knows what she's talking about. This course is one you really have to work for. Use Connect and go to the SI sessions because they really help. I'm pretty sure she curved grades at the end as well, so if you're trying your hardest and still don't have the grade you want, she might help you out.

Professor Self is a great teacher who is very willing to help her students if you put in the work you should pass the class would highly recommend taking her class

I didnt do well in bio with Mire (dont ever take her), so I took Krayesky-Selfs night class. It was a gem! Shes posts video lectures, took attendance, we did in class assignments and quizzes for points. They really helped my grade. Shes a great teacher and does go a extra few feet for her students.

The class itself wasnt that bad as along as you pay attention and write notes. You just really have to work for that A and go to the SI Sessions. I took the night class, she herself said she goes easier and helps the night class more!

She is my favorite teacher ever - funny and caring . Her tests are hard (2 and 4!) but easy hw and quizzes online, and in-class stuff. Her grading scale is even all around helps with grade. Read questions at end of chapter and GO TO SI and you'll be good. She curve final grade, visit office hours and review test

Great teacher. Took her class over the summer, was a lot of information to cover in the short time. I didn't read the book, but I don't advise to do that. Participate in class, she gives out slips to those who do and they can be turned in for extra credit. She makes the class hard, but wants everyone to pass, so she will help as much as she can.

Great Professor, but you will work for your grade. STUDY, review often and show up to class and you'll do fine.

I LOVED Dr. Krayesky. I had her my first semester at UL and she made her class interesting. Although her tests are pretty difficult she is very helpful and gives you everything you need to pass. The powerpoints helped a lot and the SI sessions were extremely helpful as well. I got a 50 on her 1st test and recovered, so don't give up! Put in effort!

Dr. Krayesky is an amazing professor! Her lectures and analogies were so so good! Reading the chapters before class is super important to not getting behind. She gives plenty of opportunity to bring your grades up with attendance checks, online quizzes, and group projects. She is super fun and so knowledgeable. I wish she taught future bio classes!

Dr. Sherry pushes her students to the limit. While she is tough, she is a fair grader and gives you the grade you deserve. She cares about precision more than anything, so know the material like the back of your hand. She doesn't take attendance, but will give pop quizzes and assignments in class so it is worth it to go.

Dr. Krayesky-Self is a great professor, but if you plan on making good grades by just going to class and listening, you won't make it. You have to study more than you ever have because she asks so many specific things from the powerpoints and the book. SI sessions were not that helpful, but get tutored even if you don't think you need help!!!

I loved having Dr. Sherry! I wish that she taught further biology classes. While her class is tough, if you read the chapters BEFORE class and attend all the lectures (which really aren't bad) it will make a big difference in your grade. The detail of her questions make her tests very difficult, so make sure you know the material inside and out.

Great person, great lectures. Reading the book helps sooo much. cares about each student but she is very hard to reach due to the amount of students she has. I didnt try at all and ended with a B. do all of the homework. and be prepared to be called out on the first day of class. I think she does that to scare us.

Dr. Krayesky is an amazing professor. Read the book before class, listen to her lectures, and review the lecture videos to study! She is so passionate about the subject and wants her students to learn.

I was in the night class and barely studied in advance for any tests (regret regret regret). The in class assignments and quiz grades are an easy 30% of your grade pretty much given to you. She gives good bonus for easy test. Tests were hard for me and I would compare it to taking a science ACT test. She explains sometimes then breezes past others.

Amazing professor. She teaches extremely well and loves what she does. You have to put work into this course to earn an A. If you go to all of the classes and read, you will succeed. She also does random attendance checks quizzes.

Amazing professor. Very engaging and clear in her lectures. However this course is VERY HARD and is very demanding. Krayesky provides you with all the necessary resources you need to pass, and also gives bonus point opportunities. This class was rough but she taught it very well. I wouldn't rather take anyone else.

Dr. Sherry is really my favorite bio teacher at UL. She can be difficult if you don't listen to her or read. The key to this class is to stay ahead because you will drown in studying if you do not. The class is hard but you actually studying and reading to have comprehension makes it SO MUCH easier. Test 3 and 4 are the hardest.

This class helped me discover that I am not a Biology person. She's very knowledgeable in her field and she's very interesting. Take advantage of SI sessions because they will aid you greatly on the exams. Attendance is not taken, but if you miss a class it's like missing a week's worth of class.

This is the BEST Biology professor I have ever had. She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her lectures are directly related to the exam material. I studied religiously for this course via PowerPoint provided by her. I didn't read the textbook, but for some concepts I did. SHE TEACHES VERY WELL. I repeat, VERY GOOD.

Some people have mixed opinions, but overall I think she was meant to be a professor. She's very passionate about the topics, so it helps you engage and listen during the lecture. I will say her exams are hard, you HAVE to read the textbook, but because it forced me to read and study, I can actually say I learned something from this course.
