mentally handicapped people are more understandable than her, and also her teeth are an unpleasant and a very distracting sight in class. other than that, have fun failing this class, unless you like throwing money away.

An absolute joy to have as a teacher. Very professional in her manner and appearance. Really goes the extra distance to help the students and allows as many questions as are needed to be asked. Also, her door is open to students during office hours. And she is always quick to offer chocolate! Will take every class she teaches!
I took this class with her, and got an "F" and it wasn't for lack of work, i busted my ass trying to understand the material, but with Sherry, it's freaking impossible!!! I am taking this same class with Michelle Wyatt now, and got an "A" so far, so if you're taking Sherry Norris, be prepared to take this class again in the future.
This woman acts like she is nice, but hell no. Everytime someone asks a question she says she can't help certain students, they should come by office hours. Did she ever consider we are all there to learn? If one student has a question about it, then she should answer it. She never tells us tips or hints like every other math teacher I have had, I have to go to smarthinking to get the "rule" for solving things. Even the tutor says she cant believe norris doesnt give us tips and shortcuts.
She is too nice, scary nice. it's the kind of nice that makes a person wonder if she secretly eats people in her basement and is then overly nice in order to lower suspicion. Oh, and she doesn't know how to teach math
This teacher does not teach the way that she is supposed to. She tells you all of these ways to do math problems, but she never tells you the easiest way to do it. I have a good gpa, but after her class I do not think that it will stay that way. & she "ACTS" extra nice, but she is not. If she were so nice then she would really try to help her stude
I didn't know what to think of her at first because she was just "too sweet." But she turned out to be really nice and very helpful. I liked her class.

This is one of the worst teachers on the CCSN campus. It is like she does not have a clue what she is doing, and she does not like to help students.
I thought this teacher would review for tests but she doesn't she has you sit there and look through the book. I guess she is nice, but I don't need nice. I need a teacher and she doesn't teach. She hasn't taught me anything and I am getting a D in her class.

Like most math students, you think that you can just sit in class and learn everything you need to know about the subject. Ms Norris is an excellent teacher that goes out of her way to HELP students learn. Take the time to do your part and you'll pass her math course and LEARN something! You have to do your part...

This professor is a joke. She seems nice, but she in fact is not. Your entire grade is based on tests so one would think that she would prepare you copiously for the tests, but she doesn't!!! Fail one test, and you fail the class. She doesn't go over the homework efficiently. Very unclear and very easy to get lost. STAY AWAY!!!
Sherry goes out of her way to to teach. She is always available when I have questions and explains the problems until I'm happy with the answer. She IS the BEST! Study and do the work...you'll do fine.
Need math & you accidentally joined class, RUN, don't walk, RUN. All statements about her being nice & that she is not nice is TRUE! She is from a different planet. THIS IS A WARNING TO OTHER FELLOW STUDENTS BEFORE ENROLLING IN HER CLASS. I wished that I knew about this site before enrolling in this class. When finish class I'll write more.
Trying to stay awake in this class is a task in itself, she hardly collects homework so you whole grade is based on your quizes. do yourself a favor and stay away!
I like Mrs. Norris. I don't like her class. It was so difficult. I failed one test and had a hard time recovering from it. Most of the grade depends on the tests! Any help was in her office which wasn't convenient for me. I'd say go somewhere else just so you stand a chance of passing.
She makes every lesson easier. She's also nice and she's fair to everyone. Not a bias prof.
Tough class! you fail her tests it's hard to recover. Not much in class time to go over material. She would rather go onto the next section/chapter rather than have students know the material needed.
Ms. Norris was pretty cool. She is really nice, and she doesnt assign that much homework like others, which is why i love her class. She does a lot of examples. She rarely collects homework but you should do it anyways just incase. Overall, its an okay class.

let's just say if u do ALL the hmwk, sit upfront, take all the notes in the world, show up every day...n understood EVERYTHING, u'll still get a C- on the exams. trust me cuz now i have to take the class OVER AGAIN n so do my classmates all 14 of us. 1 BIG reason y we failed was cuz she does NOT give withdrawals, incompletes...or sympathy :) enjoy.
It's like she just got off of the Mayflower and sees all her students as savages that she wants kill with her horrendous teaching ability. It's like she was accused of being a witch in Salem for her knowledge of mathematics and so she ran away and decided to teach algebra at community...badly.
She was very helpful and knew what she was doing.
She seems very nice and is willing to help after hours in her office. The problem is she goes too fast in class and most of your grade is from 4 tests. If you do badly on the first test drop the class (trust me). I would recommend taking any other class but hers unless you are already good at math.
I signed up for this class before i knew about ratemyprofessor.com.Had i read her ratings i would NOT have taken her class, they are all true! She is very hard and goes very fast in class. If you ask her a question she'll answer it but ultimately tells you to study the book. She gives tons of homework for next to no credit and her tests are hard.
She is a nice person, but I hated her. Not helpful at all; test were way too difficult. Did all the homework and never missed a day and I still failed. Do not take her she SUCKS!
Word of advice, DON'T TAKE HER! Seriously. If you have a hard time in math, it's not even worth it. I have difficulties in math, and I need a professor who can teach crystal clear. But Norris. HA! No.
She gives SOOO much homework.DO NOT TAKE HER. she's "nice" and all but she's pretty trippy too. Once she told us to do our homework with buddies over a bbq party. REALLY NOW? going back to HW, she gives about 50 items per meeting, rarely collects them though, but you would want to be prepared. i got an 'A' first exam because i went to the tutors.

Nice lady, but extremely hard, grades that she gives are D or F why because she wants the entire little step listed when you take a test or quiz, she will take points out. Also do the homework because you never know when she is going to collected them. Good luck with her! She is very hard.

This teacher was the 1st math professor that I had taken and unfortunetly I did not know about rate my professor, she was horrible! I took her math 95 class and I worked so hard did homework for hours thought I understood the material and when she gave her test, it was completely different and the hardest types of problems ever! Dont Take !!

She is very cheesy with her jokes but its always fun to hear her make a joke cuz your like.....did she real just say that? She is easy to understand and she will def. go out of her way to help you when ever you need she DOESNT accept late work.There are only 4 tests for the whole course and she assigns H.W. every class but only collected it 2x's.

Nightmare of a professor. Wants problems worked out the way she likes them or she takes points off. Gives you homework everyday but only collects it twice the whole semester. Very, very tough grader. She isn't very helpful or reasonable for that matter. Stay away from her class.
Okay, she gives great detailed notes (if you can keep up with her), BUT she is extremely hard. I've never received a grade lower than a B, and I have to withdraw from her class because she would not work with me after class. Great teacher for math majors! Other than that Stay away!

Her class is HARD and she's not willing to work with students when you talk to her. Her favorite responses are "you should of learn that, learn it on your own time," and "I don't take special requests."

Horrible teacher. She expects you to learn the material with the first example. She does not give step by step notes. She goes waay to fast. Did not like this course at all! Im retaking this class again with a different teacher of course and so far I love the professor I chose this semester!
She is very rude but has a sweet voice so it tricks you at first, you think she is going to be nice.she gave me an f on my first test because i missed steps even though the answers were right. she does not care to teach she rather get through the lesson for the day. she also has a rule that she will only take 2 questions from the class. horrible!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR! She has a "nice" voice, so you think she is going to be nice. NO! When she goes over the lesson, she goes fast and expects you to follow everything at once, and understand the problem then, she doesn't go over how she go the answers, and if uou ask her to break the problem down, she gets this annoyed attitude.
I took the class on line.I am horrible in math but felt she did EVERYTHING 2 help me understand it.I will b taking it over again of course and I will be looking forward 2 having her as my instructor. She cares about her students and is sincere.She always replied 2 my emails+showed me how 2 do the problems if I didnt understand.She is fair!

terrible teacher,you can ask questions but she'll scold you even if you get it right, it has to be her way.overly picky about work if you do everything in your head dont dare take her you'll see more red on the very few assignments she does grade than you ever thought possible.she shows more examples on things you get than on the harder things.
She is a very hard grader. I dont understand her grading scale at all. I took the online class because I had work. VERY BAD DECISION! She was helpful when asked but it was a lot of work every week and her exams have to be completed HER specific way. Hated this class.

Teacher is more than fair in grading of tests. If you study you will have no problem passing this class with an A. I took the online class, tests were on campus at testing center. All tests include an extra credit problem and run about 21 questions each.
She is a nice teacher and is very helpful.She will review if you don't understand something. HW was online and tests were taken in class. There were no quizzes and HW does count for a grade. The only thing is that she is a tough grader. I didnt simplfy a problem all the way and I got half my points marked off even if the answer is still right.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Take at your own risk. She is a bad teacher. She does not help you. Everything you do is online, and it freezes, she even tells you that. Work overload. It takes hours to do each homework assignment. Test are nothing like what you learn. Very confusing, and if you dont do it ecxactly her way she grades off.

I took her class online (DO NOT DO THIS) and failed it. I passed the homework and failed every exam. The lectures for this class were never taught by her. I had to drive to the Cheyenne Campus to take all exams. I have never failed a class before in my life and this is the first. I do NOT recommend this online class/ professor.
Ms. Norris is the worst professor I've had thus far. Even intelligent students were failing her class due to her unresponsive and stand-off behavior. Most responses of hers were premised with "You should have known that from (insert class here)." or "Look back in your textbook." Pick another professor.
I actually liked Mrs. Norris. I took her hybrid class for 95 & 96 and it was fairly easy. Homework is on mymathlab, all she does in class is go over a couple problems. Mymathlab is more helpful than she is sometimes, but she does try to help students understand the material. If you use the study materials on Mymathlab the exams aren't very hard.
Do not take this class. I passed all the homework and reviews EASY. When I went in to take the tests I felt confident only to get C's because each question was worth so many points. Her grading on the tests is ridiculous. The amount of homework she assigns will have you trying to catch up in your other classes.
DO NOT TAKE!! Took her online course but she feels online help is cheating therefore turning off all online examples and help functions for the course. Exams are ridiculous becuz they don't match what has been taught on MyMathLab so one is set-up for complete failure. Can Ace all HW&Quizzes online but still fail everyone of her exams. DONT TAKE HER
A very helpful and caring professor. Offers tutoring during flexible office hours and a few minutes after class. If you can't make it to class, it's not a big deal since she doesn't take role. But I recommend going to all of them. However, in order to get a good grade in this class you have to study. There are four exams throughout the semester.
This was the worst class and the worst professor. The practice test are nothing like the real test. None of the quizzes are for grades and the homework is only counted towards a small percentage of your grade. I received A and B's in my math classes up until I took this professor. You're better off with a different professor. Good Luck.
I would not recommend this teacher to anyone. My experience in this class was horrible, hours of homework. Test that have nothing to do with the homework, and the only access to lessons I had was My Math Lab. The teacher offered no help or insight on the topics being learned. None of my test were ever returned to me, and some how I failed them all.
She's very nice but there's no nonsense. She uses MyMathLab and if you miss an assignment and speak with her, it's very hard for you to get an extension. I personally like MML because of the unlimited tries before the due date and it lets you know what problems are wrong. Only 4 exams with a couple quizzes. Usual amount of difficulty for math.
Mrs. Norris is an amazing teacher. She has no problem helping her students and giving them a snickers bar if you come in during office hours. She's sweet. She's a major math brain there isn't a problem she cant solve. 5 test, quizes and homework are done online. She wont give extensions, i mean come on were in college, and she gives you 4 days.
Made me feel very unwelcome to ask questions. Never taught anything herself she relies 100% on the online videos so you are basically teaching yourself. Solve it any way other than hers she fails the question. Really a horrid experience.
Professor Norris is very clear on her exam grading, sends out tons of emails letting everyone know how she grade and where to find examples of her grading. There are 4 exams, all on paper, and can use a calculator! Show your work and check your work in order to get full credit. She simply wants students to understand the material!
If you need to take math 96, do not take this teacher. To get a good grade you will need to study a lot. The exams are nothing like the quizzes or practice test. Tough grader.

Extremely rigorous. Showing comprehension and getting the answer correct does not mean you get credit. There is a very strict format to follow. There is no leniency, so pay attention! Most times the work is due Thursday night, but sometimes it could be Wednesday night. You will need to purchase stamps and label envelopes for her to send your test.
I had it online and there is no help whats so ever. She relies on videos for us to learn. There are 4 exams which count as 80% of your grade, no retakes, and test are taken in campus. I took the class online and it's what you expect an online college math class to be, difficult, but Professor Norris is very straight forward with her grading criteria. Lectures are provided with weekly homework assignments, and exams are on campus. I met her once but she was kind, patient and thorough.
I've never been good at Math which ended me up to this class. This professor's form of studying when you take online is just videos she offers. She uses MyMathLab the whole course and gives not enough material to cover which makes you wanna grab the required textbook immediately. The exams are in person so beware if you are in the WC campus.

This class was hard. I do online courses. So all I and everyone else had was MML Math. 2-3 lectures, 2-3 homework and quizzes every week and at the end of at least 2 or 3 weeks there are the exams. She does reply if you do email. Class is harder if you aren't willing to put in the work.

I have take this class SEVERAL times now with her online and have done terribly each time. The Exams are worth 80% of your over all grade, so even though I got A's and B's on assignments and lecture quizes online that 80% exam grade for 4 exams ruined my grade each time. Took 95E, basically just show up and do an online course. Suprise $90 you'll have to spend to even get the material needed they dont tell you about. Sherry is a very sweet lady, only there to answer questions and take attendance but will go over problems if needed. The class itself is super easy since its all online and at your own pace
The whole course was awful DO NOT TAKE so much harder than my Algebra 2 class and this is below it. There are videos she expects you to learn from but are super old and little no sense. I spent a lot of time teaching myself. All three exams are in person which were very difficult. If you want your graded tests back, she has to mail them to you.
I've never had to study so hard in my life. LOL. I'm not super math-minded though. The professor was fine. She sticks to her grading syllabus to the letter. Wouldn't recommend taking online because this is a tough subject to take. She communicates very regularly and clearly but if you need help go to the math lab asap.
I took Professor Sherry's online class for Math 95, and it was hard. The lectures provided are from the 90's, very outdated. If you have a hard time with Math take a different professor, because you WILL struggle. You basically teach yourself the entire course. Pearson and the short 90's lectures are your teacher, Professor Norris isn't involved.

Each chapter has video lectures, homework, and a quiz. You cannot move from assignment to assignment without completing the prior assignment. Also, I did encounter a problem using the lockdown browser during a quiz and even though I could not see the question as it would not load, she gave zero wiggle room when it comes to technical difficulties.
Professor Norris is clear of her class expectations at the beginning of the semester. As long as you pay attention and put in the work you're bound to pass. Professor Norris is easily reachable and there to help if you need it. She gives two attempts at quizes, which I think is super generous because you can learn from your mistakes & try again.

This course was extremely difficult. It left me crying almost every week because of how stressful and time consuming it was. The tests are worth 80% of your OVERALL grade, which only makes it more stressful and difficult. We had homework due the day before Thanksgiving... yeah. Professor Norris was clear in her lectures and gave great instruction if you were listening to the lectures clearly. She is clear about the expectations of you in the class, and is a fair grader. I would look for her again if I had to take more math.

I took professor Norris in my first semester of college back in Fall 2021, she is an alright teacher. Math was a little hard but professor Norris was always willing to help out and she does answer back to her emails when she can. Overall her class online was good and helpful.
Having been out of school for several years, I was a bit apprehensive about going back. This was all because of my fear of math. I eventually made the leap and went for it. Professor Norris was a great teacher and I'm glad I ended up in her course. There was a lot of homework, but it only served to help me.
This teacher is not the best, she does not answer her emails or messages on canvas and the math lab she uses is hard to navigate, I could only get in contact with the teacher one time this year.
Professor Norris is a fair grader who gives clear lectures. The workload is heavy, but the course is manageable with dedication. I found unstuck ai helpful for study prep alongside the textbook.
I took professor Norris in Spring 2025 and her class was very much self studied. Whenever I asked for help she told me to go to tutoring. There was no lectures, assignments were due at the end of the week. It was hard for me to pass her class and understand what I was learning. Don't take this class if you want to learn.
I'm really bad at math, and I love teachers that really go over it with you, so she was an amazing professor. I had her class for the fall, Math 120-120E, and she might be the best choice out there. Her classes are super fun to attend, since the math is well explained and she does tons of example problems. She's extremely nice, and enjoys her job.
She is the absolute sweetest! Attend her lectures and you'll be set for the whole semester! She is so kind, and answers questions swiftly and to the best of her ability. You can tell she really loves what she does, And that is my favorite kind of teacher. I've never been good at math and I'm so grateful I ended up with Professor Norris.
