She is very enthusiastic about english. Come to class and listen, you'll have no problems. But the only thing we do is test so if you hate taking tests, bummer.

Probably my favorite english class I have ever taken. She is fun and enthusiastic. She gives extra-credit for anything. Tests are about the main source of the grade along with attendance. A must have teacher in your college experience.

I took her online class. There's only 5 essays for the whole semester but she grades the essays WAY late. I didn't get my first one back until I submitted my third so the comments were not helpful until the last essay. She's not quick to respond to emails either. I suggest you choose a teacher that's not so busy so you can actually learn something.

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She gives a lot of extra credit assignments. If you attend most of her classes and do the assignments, you'll get an A+. Believe me, she is the coolest English Teacher.

She is the best English professor, her classes have up to fifty students, but almost everybody gets an A+ in her class. In her Literature classes you'll just take a midterm and a final exam, but both of them are take-home exams. She gives a lot of extra credit assignments. She knows what she's taking about which makes the class interesting Take her

TAZ is a wonderful professor, she has a of personal stories to talk about that relate to the literature readings, it gets to the point that she does go off the subject through out the entire class time. She gives massive extra credit for pointless things!

Took online. Very good professor. Answers e-mail very quickly. Clear answers to questions. Grades essays very well. Returns essays with all errors highlighted with explaination so you actually learn from your mistakes. Was sometimes slow returning grades but everything turned out good in the end.

This teacher is the best teacher ever. If you have never like english, she will switch your whole view around. Very laid back class. She is very helpful in making you confident in writing. Doesn't pile you with work, she keeps it reasonable. Extremely funny and very cute. I love this teacher. Definitely recommended!!!!

Love this class! Taz is soo cute and Funny!!** The work is easy. All she wants is perfect attendance and she likes discussion. She is a very sweet lady and I really recommend this class to anyone and everyone who is afraid of English 102. It's a breeze! Oh! and you get candy!!

Taz was a great instructor online. She seemed to have a silly sense of humor and wish I could have met her in person. There were great readings and quick discussions every week. The midterm and finals were great as long as you keep up with the reading and she gives an extra credit assign. I highly recommend her!

I took this class online and it was great. All we had to do was read out of our English lit. book, post two short comments a week on what we read, and there was a midterm and final that were pure and simple as long as you read all the stories. There was no lengthy dissection, it was just reading a story a week on your own time.

I've taken four classes from Taz and they were all exceptional. I took English 231, 232, and 235 online with her and in each of them there was a midterm, final, discussion board postings and aotional extra credit paper option. The requirements were crystal clear and she was always available for questions and help. Also loved her English 102!

I LOVE TAZZIE!!!!!!!! Prof Rosenthal aka Taz is wonderful. I took her online class and enjoyed it. There are discussion post due weekly that you are graded on but are not hard, as well as quizzes and a final exam, so that everyone has a chance to pass the class, she also offers a extra credit assignment if needed. Would recommend her to any student!

Took her online class which was wonderful! She helps you and makes things fun. You do have to read the book, BUT there is little actual work to do. Don't procrastinate and you'll do VERY WELL! I strongly recommend her! I love TAZ!

I took the 4 week summer course. 2 readings each week that you have to comment on, an exam, final, and extra credit paper. Does not respond to emails quickly at all and is not very helpful, but the class is pretty self explanatory.

I took this same class, English 232 online (4 weeks, summer) and disagree with the previous posting. I thought the professor returned emails quickly, cared a lot, and was very responsive to the class. The workload was reasonable and the readings were good. I would highly recommend this class.

"Taz" was very clear in her syllabus and expecatations for the course. Midterms and final weren't hard. Readings weren't too hard although its better to read with the midterm/final's questions in mind so that you can finish and answer quickly. Friendly and helpful w/ students :)

This was a 4 week online summer course, which seemed a bit intimidating at first but was just find. The class was well-paced and the readings were really interesting. Required: discussion posts , midterm, final exam, and optional extra credit essay. The midterm was graded within less than 24 hours so you knew where you stood.

This is the best online English course I have taken. The Midterm exam and Final exam are available from day one and you can work at your own pace on them. The professor answers emails promptly. You do two discussion posts weekly plus the Midterm, Final, and an extra credit paper if you want. Reasonable and well organized.

The best professor for english 232!!! such an easy class. The class is out of 200 something points and she gives 60 extra credit points!! so basically you can get d's on both exams and still get an A!:) but its impossible to do bad on her exams anyways !! I wish I would have taken her for 101 & 102....

THis was a great class and the professor was wonderful. The novels are all really interesting and the grading is very fair, just two self-paced exams on the novels and an extra credit paper that's optional. I really loved this class!

This professory is awesome. Taz will take the time to read, correct, and provide feedback on drafts of your papers to help you. If you try at all, you will get an A in this class. The novels are interesting and easy reads. She gives you tons of choices for your paper topics, you can even name your own topic.

Took online. She is very kind and helpful. Assignments included just reading a couple readings a week and doing 2 postings that same week. Midterm and final are 20 questions you write a response to about the readings over the course. You get to do the midterm and final over the course of the semester in your own time, instead of all in one sitting.

Online. Fantastic class! 2 discussion posts/week (1 original & 1 response) but they don't have firm due dates nor are they worth a lot. Other than that there is a midterm & final, which is a combo of short answer, fill in the blanks, & multiple choice.All of those questions are posted in advance so you can work on it all semester. Highly recommend!

Online class. A lot of reading but it is a Literature course. Midterm and final are completed at your leisure as you do the reading. Impossible to get a poor grade if you do the work. Taz Rosenthal is an excellent professor and is highly recommended.

If you do not have English still fresh in your mind it might be a little difficult, but nothing to worry about. 3 papers 2-4 pages. Must attend class. Lets you rewrite a paper to get a higher score. Encourages students to email rough drafts (highly recommend you do). Always there to help out students.

Online class was 100% self-study; minimal to no contact with instructor. Want a good grade? by all means take. Want to learn something? go elsewhere. On the other hand, I heard that her classroom lectures are good.

Her online classes are completely self taught. NO input from instructor at all, and thus, nothing is learned. You're basically paying for your credit only. She never responds to email either.

I enjoyed the class, a survey of British Lit. It is largely self-paced, with required weekly discussion board posts. The midterm and final are available from the start and you can work on them at your own pace. The professor answered emails promptly. Overall a very positive experience. I would recommend the class.

There is book readings involved but intresting fun choices are given. I loved her layed back style, no pressure just love of reading and writing is a little bit of a must :) Best english teacher ever!

She's really nice, I recommend her for english 102. There are no test in her class, just essays and online discussions. She's helpful too and lets you take retakes of exams. She also lets you attend another class section if you happen to miss your regular class.

Great professor, always does her best to help students succeed. The class was easy, but that's because she made it interesting and insightful. Two tests (not multiple choice) which are the midterm and final. You have all semester to do them, the questions are posted in advance to help you as you read. One extra credit paper. This class is soooooo easy you guys. Read the stories (sometimes they are long) and write an original response each week. The questions from the midterm and final are available to view from the beginning of the semester so you can just fill in the answers as you go along in your readings. I love her class. It's good if you're taking harder classes.

Readings like Chaucer were challenging but workload and exams were reasonable. She is responsive and seems to want everyone to learn and appreciate, not just slog through the course. Exams are available from day 1, which helps guide your reading. I learned a lot, probably would have had an "A" if I'd done all the discussion posts.

Amazing! Totally self paced class. I had Sherry for 102 &i had to take her again. She is the most dedicated professor, she will guide you all the way through. Profound memorable course and readings. Books disturbing but hard to put down. Midterm, final exam, weekly discussion posts required. Recommend not just for general education but to know what humans are capable of at their worst, and in some cases their best. Not many college classes stay with you forever but this will.

Took the hybrid course. Super easy. Three short papers, several online discussions. Can get way with only getting the book required for the final paper. The other books are pointless to purchase/rent. She's super easy, helpful, and laidback. She strongly suggests to submit a rough draft for all the papers to help you recieve a better grade.

Readings were a challenge but interesting. Lots of 18th century French literature in translation, things like Moliere and Voltaire. Not bad when you get into it. Keep up with the reading and discussion posts.

This was quite an interesting class though not all readings were thrilling. Could skip Beowulf and Thomas More. Liked most poetry selections. Professor available and responsive to emails. Obviously knowledgeable and wants to guide your thinking, but not dogmatic. Exams reasonable and available early on. I recommend her.

This teacher and class on Holocaust Literature were wonderful. Readings easy but memorable. You can't put the books down. Midterm, Final exam available from Day 1 so you can work at your own pace. Extra credit available if you want to do an additional paper. She is very nice too and responds quickly to emails. I would definitely take her again.

Professor Rosenthal's teaching style is worth emulating because she is really after students' progress in writing compositions. She checks students' drafts herself that students know exactly where their mistakes are. She's a very considerate and conscientious professor who understands students' needs and problems. English Literature written in Old English is hard to comprehend, but Professor Rosenthal's guide questions and lectures in the discussion posts lead to the understanding of the readings. Questions are thought provoking. Answers questions through emails and clarifies difficulties in reading assignments. Reading assignments are interesting. Great!

Well organized, interesting class. Weekly discussion posts, midterm exam, final exam, extra credit option. Exams are posted early so you can work on at your own pace. Instructor responds promptly to emails. Not all the readings are equally interesting (maybe due to translation?) but overall I thought most were worthwhile and I would recommend.

INSANELY EASY Lit course. You just do the reading and then talk about it on the discussion boards. 2 short-answer tests, each are done at home and you have a ton of time to complete them. Tests were available since day 1, so I answered questions as I did the reading and my tests were done very early. If you get stuck, Sparknotes makes it VERY easy.

Contrary to what others have said, you REALLY DON'T HAVE TO DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, if you do WELL on the required work. So you SHOULD type LENGTHY, DETAILED, and THOUGHTFUL discussion board posts for the reading - the more you write, the more points you get. ONLINE COURSE Overall, this is a good professor. The work is very easy. The midterm and the final can take a few hours to complete so do not save it until the last minute. This was an excellent writing class and instructor is knowledgeable and understanding. You can learn both MLA and APA formats and pick which one to use, or use both on alternate papers. Lots of extra credit options and rewrite opportunities.

Professor Taz! Is AMAZING!! Growing up I have had many issues with English and going into college made me so scared and nervous. Prof. Rosenthal is great! I took her Eng 235 and Eng 236 class. Shes really nice and understanding! Theres weekly discussions to help pace and make sure you understand the readings! If you do the work, you should get a good grade! I got by without the book, but it is easier to get the book and have the text all in one place.

Amazing professor! I will be taking her again for English 289 (Holocaust Literature) this Fall. My advice is to print out the Midterm and Final ahead of time and answer the questions as you do the readings in class. It will save you a lot of time! There are about two to three questions on the midterm and final for each week.

Excellent class and very easy. Weekly readings from an anthology and you post 2 discussion posts a week. Midterm and final are self-paced and available from the start so you can work on them as you do the readings. She is very nice and answers emails fast. If you have questions she will help you out. Prof Rosenthal was a really chill professor and very helpful with any questions you might have about the course. You have to do weekly discussions with your classmates as well as a 20 essay question midterm and final. If you keep track of your work then youll definitely pass.

Informative &gives extra credit for workshops you take or resources you use from CSN. Syllabus is CLEAR and she is very responsive and nice! You will learn a lot and relate it to current events. Took the 8-week English 102 and really loved this class and prof. She's super encouraging and lets you rewrite all but the very last paper for a higher grade. Answers email fast and clearly. She really wants you to succeed and lets you know she's there to help. Would recommend even if you're not so confident in English. I wasn't and she helped me.

I took the 8 week class with professor Rosenthal and I loved it, it was a very easy class. Since it is a shorter class it was pretty fast paced but nothing you cannot get done. There was a total of 3 papers that needed to get done and some discussions posts that you had to reply to but other than that I would take this class again.

Professor Rosenthal is amazing!!! I took her 8-week class and did not feel rushed at all. She gives you three essays that are mandatory, but simple if you utilize the time she gives you. I try to be honest on these! A little bit disappointed she wasn't involved at all in class. Offered extra credit, but yet does not graded. I have better things to do with my time than do stuff and don't even get anything for it. I mean didn't even look at it, it took me 3 days to write that paper. No feedback on anything whatsoever!

Took her 4 week course, you'll read 9 different books, typically 2-3 each week. Use online resources like Youtube or Sparknotes to help. Dr. Rosenthal is probably one of my favorite professors! She is very caring and clear with her grading criteria. I took her hybrid class; it is mandatory to attend class once a week and do your discussion posts weekly. There are 3 papers that she requires. American Lit I was an easy class. There was a weekly discussion post (except the first week and the week of Thanksgiving), and one reply to another student. Taz's 231 class is based on discussions, a mid-term, and a final She allows you to take an extra credit paper if you need to boost your grade. You do need to buy the textbooks but it will help with your midterm and final. 10/10 rec to have Discord with classmates to help each other out with answers and compare.
