She is very enthusiastic about english. Come to class and listen, you'll have no problems. But the only thing we do is test so if you hate taking tests, bummer.

Probably my favorite english class I have ever taken. She is fun and enthusiastic. She gives extra-credit for anything. Tests are about the main source of the grade along with attendance. A must have teacher in your college experience.

Ms. Taz is one of the coolest teachers around! She gives out crazy extra credit points for practically anything!

Took online. Very good professor. Answers e-mail very quickly. Clear answers to questions. Grades essays very well. Returns essays with all errors highlighted with explaination so you actually learn from your mistakes. Was sometimes slow returning grades but everything turned out good in the end.

Everyone should take Professor Rosenthal's English 232 online class. Lots of opportunities for extra credit and it is self paced. Loved it.

I took this class online and it was great. All we had to do was read out of our English lit. book, post two short comments a week on what we read, and there was a midterm and final that were pure and simple as long as you read all the stories. There was no lengthy dissection, it was just reading a story a week on your own time.

Best Teacher ever. Clear, concise, helpful, involved, ect. Take 278 with her you won't regret it. Not to mention no textbook, just get the novels from the library.

LOVED this summer class on the theme of Magic in the Novel: Harry Potter. Lots to be learned from reading this series in a scholarly way. Taz is the best teacher!

I took her English 231 in June. It was great! Readings were excellent and exams were fair. Professor was available and communicative. Grading was fast and fair. Highly recommended!

I've taken four classes from Taz and they were all exceptional. I took English 231, 232, and 235 online with her and in each of them there was a midterm, final, discussion board postings and aotional extra credit paper option. The requirements were crystal clear and she was always available for questions and help. Also loved her English 102!

This was the most relaxed and helpful class! Definitely take Tazzie for this. She actually makes you like writing and English.

taking online course. the books she requires you to read are so inspiring!!! weekly discussions, approximately 20 questions on exams (and you only have 3 of them). NO homework and NO quizzes. GREAT and fun teacher!

Prof Rosenthal aka Taz is wonderful. I took her online class and enjoyed it. There are discussion post due weekly that you are graded on but are not hard, as well as quizzes and a final exam, so that everyone has a chance to pass the class, she also offers a extra credit assignment if needed. Would recommend her to any student!

Took her online class which was wonderful! She helps you and makes things fun. You do have to read the book, BUT there is little actual work to do. Don't procrastinate and you'll do VERY WELL! I strongly recommend her! I love TAZ!

I took this same class, English 232 online (4 weeks, summer) and disagree with the previous posting. I thought the professor returned emails quickly, cared a lot, and was very responsive to the class. The workload was reasonable and the readings were good. I would highly recommend this class.

"Taz" was very clear in her syllabus and expecatations for the course. Midterms and final weren't hard. Readings weren't too hard although its better to read with the midterm/final's questions in mind so that you can finish and answer quickly. Friendly and helpful w/ students :)

This was a 4 week online summer course, which seemed a bit intimidating at first but was just find. The class was well-paced and the readings were really interesting. Required: discussion posts , midterm, final exam, and optional extra credit essay. The midterm was graded within less than 24 hours so you knew where you stood.

This is the best online English course I have taken. The Midterm exam and Final exam are available from day one and you can work at your own pace on them. The professor answers emails promptly. You do two discussion posts weekly plus the Midterm, Final, and an extra credit paper if you want. Reasonable and well organized.

The best professor for english 232!!! such an easy class. The class is out of 200 something points and she gives 60 extra credit points!! so basically you can get d's on both exams and still get an A!:) but its impossible to do bad on her exams anyways !! I wish I would have taken her for 101 & 102....

THis was a great class and the professor was wonderful. The novels are all really interesting and the grading is very fair, just two self-paced exams on the novels and an extra credit paper that's optional. I really loved this class!

My favorite teacher in CSN!!

This professory is awesome. Taz will take the time to read, correct, and provide feedback on drafts of your papers to help you. If you try at all, you will get an A in this class. The novels are interesting and easy reads. She gives you tons of choices for your paper topics, you can even name your own topic.

Took online. She is very kind and helpful. Assignments included just reading a couple readings a week and doing 2 postings that same week. Midterm and final are 20 questions you write a response to about the readings over the course. You get to do the midterm and final over the course of the semester in your own time, instead of all in one sitting.

4 week Online class. Course work was manageable for someone who likes to read. I didn't have much interaction with the prof but it was ok, I didn't need any. Class is self paced and she doesn't ask too much of you.

This class is very easy. Two discussion postings per week. Besides that there is a midterm and final due. There's also an option for an extra credit paper. Class is self paced. Only the midterm and final have serious due dates.

Online. Fantastic class! 2 discussion posts/week (1 original & 1 response) but they don't have firm due dates nor are they worth a lot. Other than that there is a midterm & final, which is a combo of short answer, fill in the blanks, & multiple choice.All of those questions are posted in advance so you can work on it all semester. Highly recommend!

Awesome non stressful class

Online class. A lot of reading but it is a Literature course. Midterm and final are completed at your leisure as you do the reading. Impossible to get a poor grade if you do the work. Taz Rosenthal is an excellent professor and is highly recommended.

took 4 week harry potter class. every thing is available right away, including midterm and final. super easy but fun. i enjoyed reading the hp books again.

No reason not to take her. Super nice. Fair. She gave the perfect amount of writing in the semester to think over and do a good job on and learn from. What you would want out of a good teacher.

If you do not have English still fresh in your mind it might be a little difficult, but nothing to worry about. 3 papers 2-4 pages. Must attend class. Lets you rewrite a paper to get a higher score. Encourages students to email rough drafts (highly recommend you do). Always there to help out students.

I enjoyed the class, a survey of British Lit. It is largely self-paced, with required weekly discussion board posts. The midterm and final are available from the start and you can work on them at your own pace. The professor answered emails promptly. Overall a very positive experience. I would recommend the class.

There is book readings involved but intresting fun choices are given. I loved her layed back style, no pressure just love of reading and writing is a little bit of a must :) Best english teacher ever!

Online, Harry Potter, BKs 1-4. Essay questions on tests 5-7 lines of value. Multiple choice also. 40 point extra credit essay. Class is about being able to read and comprehend. That is it, read and test. Rec. read before taking class, watch videos also to become familiar.

She's really nice, I recommend her for english 102. There are no test in her class, just essays and online discussions. She's helpful too and lets you take retakes of exams. She also lets you attend another class section if you happen to miss your regular class.

This class is soooooo easy you guys. Read the stories (sometimes they are long) and write an original response each week. The questions from the midterm and final are available to view from the beginning of the semester so you can just fill in the answers as you go along in your readings. I love her class. It's good if you're taking harder classes.

Readings like Chaucer were challenging but workload and exams were reasonable. She is responsive and seems to want everyone to learn and appreciate, not just slog through the course. Exams are available from day 1, which helps guide your reading. I learned a lot, probably would have had an "A" if I'd done all the discussion posts.

Profound memorable course and readings. Books disturbing but hard to put down. Midterm, final exam, weekly discussion posts required. Recommend not just for general education but to know what humans are capable of at their worst, and in some cases their best. Not many college classes stay with you forever but this will.

Great Class. A lots of reading but it was easy and interesting. Teach was always available and the assignments and tests were easy. MidTerm-Final given out at the beginning of class.

Took the hybrid course. Super easy. Three short papers, several online discussions. Can get way with only getting the book required for the final paper. The other books are pointless to purchase/rent. She's super easy, helpful, and laidback. She strongly suggests to submit a rough draft for all the papers to help you recieve a better grade.

Easy class. Only 2 assignments. Final and midterm. The only thing is there are weekly discussions every week. and the reading is a little hard to understand and very long. I never did the weekly discussions on time and i did fine

This class is a lazy student's best friend. Easy "A" with a non-existent teacher. 2 papers total, Google the answers, done. Interesting readings for those who are serious, but the students turn more degenerate by the week in the discussion posts.

Great class with thought provoking and eye opening readings like St. Augustine and Koran. You get out of it what you put in. Must keep up with discussion posts or your grade suffers. Midterm, final exam, 2 discussion posts weekly.

Readings were a challenge but interesting. Lots of 18th century French literature in translation, things like Moliere and Voltaire. Not bad when you get into it. Keep up with the reading and discussion posts.

This was quite an interesting class though not all readings were thrilling. Could skip Beowulf and Thomas More. Liked most poetry selections. Professor available and responsive to emails. Obviously knowledgeable and wants to guide your thinking, but not dogmatic. Exams reasonable and available early on. I recommend her.

Very clear, well organized course. Good discussion questions that help with the reading. I liked the religious texts comparatively (Old Testament, New Testament, Koran). Could have skipped Dante but I guess it's good to have read it.

Sherry's teaching style helps in improving self-confidence in writing and studying. Being a good teacher and a nice lady Sherry really deserves her Doctor title.

This teacher and class on Holocaust Literature were wonderful. Readings easy but memorable. You can't put the books down. Midterm, Final exam available from Day 1 so you can work at your own pace. This class was the best English class I've taken. We only wrote 3 essays the entire semester, however we were constantly working on one so it really gives you time to perfect your essay. She allows you to send her your essay so she can give you her thoughts prior to being graded which is super helpful.

Class was to read Harry Potter books and answer short essay questions. Not sure if she read the responses or just verified that it was done. Do all the work and you should get all the points.

Professor Rosenthal is an awesome teacher. I took this online, not really any reason to interact with this teacher because she is clear on assignments and readings and they are easy. You can do all assignments in one week or wait until the end of the semester.

You have to read a lot but the lectures were really interesting. Easy assignments.

Professor Rosenthal's teaching style is worth emulating because she is really after students' progress in writing compositions. She checks students' drafts herself that students know exactly where their mistakes are. She's a very considerate and conscientious professor who understands students' needs and problems. She's great!

English Literature written in Old English is hard to comprehend, but Professor Rosenthal's guide questions and lectures in the discussion posts lead to the understanding of the readings. Questions are thought provoking. Answers questions through emails and clarifies difficulties in reading assignments. Reading assignments are interesting. Great!

each paper is 3-4 pgs. prof cares more if youre picking up what shes teaches then the torture of a paper. great help from prof whenever needed.

I took two classes with her online and she was great. Always recommending new Holocaust books and gives pretty easy assignments, if you read the weekly portion. It is a lot of reading, but she spaces it out enough. She replies quickly and is super nice. TAKE HER!

Very easy class to take online for English credit. She's clear on what she wants. Weekly discussions that you can basically do at your own pace. Any time I asked a question, she was answer clearly and helpfully. I appreciated her and this class and would definitely recommend. Also, don't buy the book set. There are 3 essays spread out throughout the semester one novel to read . You can turn rough drafts in to her to look at and she will make necessary corrections prior to turn-in date. You can re turn in any graded paper to be re-graded for a better grade at anytime prior to the end of the semester. Easy A! Very good feedback. You don't need book.

I took this class online and it was easy. Just read the required reading for the week and answer the discussion post and respond to one other person. She only really grades you on the Midterm, Final, and Extra Credit so if you don't do those, good luck passing! It's an easy A as long as you read the book.

Every week, you read. Answer a discussion post. Respond to another person, and that's it. For the midterm, you have to copy and paste what she has posted onto a word document and answer the questions. The midterm and final are available all year long so if you're smart, you'll answer the questions as you read. I wasn't smart.

INSANELY EASY Lit course. You just do the reading and then talk about it on the discussion boards. 2 short-answer tests, each are done at home and you have a ton of time to complete them. Tests were available since day 1, so I answered questions as I did the reading and my tests were done very early. If you get stuck, Sparknotes makes it VERY easy.

i took summer 4 week class, there are two or three discussion each week, and there are only 2 exam which will decide your final grade. these two exam you can google the answer.

Contrary to what others have said, you REALLY DON'T HAVE TO DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, if you do WELL on the required work. So you SHOULD type LENGTHY, DETAILED, and THOUGHTFUL discussion board posts for the reading - the more you write, the more points you get. The midterm and final are the only tests, and they count for most of your grade. Also - READ!

If you have read the Harry Potter books just skim them to get answers. Basic class and it is really easy as a summer course.

heart-warming lady! 3 overall essays: 1 video clip essay report, 1 book report (counted as midterm), and 1 research paper with secondary resources (counted as final). 3books that you can rent. each week should write 2 posts(5 or 6 sentences) one about the reading and one for your classmate post. 2 exam one mid and final with 20question about the reading. this class is not hard at all. but takes time to read but if you are a little familiar with world literature like hamlet and bible you should be very ahead.

I really enjoyed this class. I am from England and spent a year in Las Vegas and decided to take an online Survey of English Literature class. Professor Rosenthal was an amazing professor and the readings reminded me of being back in England. If I had more time to spend in the USA, I would have taken more of her classes.

She was easy in the fact that you have a few discussions and a final and midterm. It was a basic English class. No papers just questions. You must read or it will be tough to pass. Over all pretty average class.

As long as you do the discussions each week and stay on track for the semester, you should pass with an A easily. Look at the midterm and final during the semester and answer the question for the weekly discussion that matches the test question and you will have half done on the test already!

Took her for American Lit online. Very easy if you do the work. One discussion and reply a week, DO THE MIDTERM AND FINAL WHILE READING! She gives the mid and final on the first day so answer the questions as you read and you'll get an easy A. Lots of reading but it is a Lit class so that is to be expected. She also gives an extra paper.

Rosenthal is amazing! She gives you relatively easy papers to write, you write them alone, and turn them in on the day they are due. The ONLY time I went to class was for the first two weeks, and thereafter only to turn in my papers in. This teacher is not for anyone who is not self motivated. bu

Just read and take the midterm and final as you go, it's recommended. One simple post and reply for discussions every week and relaxed timelines for everything except the midterm and final. Simple and pretty easy. Wish I could take her for all literature classes.

Three essays and one novel to read. Lets you resubmit essays for a better grade. One discussion board per week, no special requirements in length. Easy "A" if you just show up and do your work. No brainer. Make your life easier and take this professor.

Taz was very laid back she's very kind and respectful. She let's you turn in a rough draft so you can get her feedback before you paper is due. She does extra credit almost everytime your paper is due. No tests or exam and no text book just a regular library book.

There are 3 essays and weekly discussions. Essay 1 was about a movie we watched in class. Essay 2 you had to read one of 3 books and write about it. Essay 3 was kind of a free write. Taz Gives great feedback. The discussions are REAL easy. She gave us extra credit opportunities. 20% of your grade is attendance,but if you miss class you'll survive.

This class can improve writing skills. Easy A, 3 Essays and you can use 1 from another class, with improvements. caring and concerned for her students and their individual educational goal the assignments can be tailored towards your goals. If you are looking for a class with no pressure and improves your writing skills take her class.

She is by far the BEST English teacher hands down!!!!!! She wont let you fail. She works with you. She is very understanding. I would highly recommend her! She knows her stuff!!! One of the best professors I've ever had. Her class has a fun, laid back vibe. She gets to the point and never teaches anything you don't need to know. She is honest about which text books you really need. She gives you every opportunity to succeed in her class and offers extra credit as well. She also provides great feed back on papers.

This was by far the easiest online class I have ever taken. You have one assignment a week, it is a discussion post that is based off of your readings. You also have a mid term that is based off of the books you have already read for the class! You have access to the midterm and final right when the class starts! I highly recommend this teacher!

Professor Rosenthal is by far the NICEST teacher I've had. Whoever says she isn't probably failed. One of the 1st classes i took at CSN, the midterm and final are are accessible ahead of time and you can work ahead as you read! Super easy, uses the textbook, and class goes by quickly. Professor Rosenthal is awesome! She gives you good feedback and responds to her emails in a timely matter. Also, she does not require you to take your essays to the writing center because you can easily email to her before the due date and she will give you feedback. You only have to write three essays for the whole semester.

Her Tuesday night Eng 102 class has been great. If you work days like I do shes very understanding if you have to come in late or leave early. Also you can rewrite any of your papers for a higher grade and she gives lots of chances for extra credit. If you do have to miss class you can go to her other Eng 102 section that week.

This was an excellent writing class and instructor is knowledgeable and understanding. You can learn both MLA and APA formats and pick which one to use, or use both on alternate papers. Lots of extra credit options and rewrite opportunities.

Professor Taz! Is AMAZING!! Growing up I have had many issues with English and going into college made me so scared and nervous. After taking professor Taz, I have improved 90% in my writing, reading and understanding. I took her for ENG 101, 102 and 223! Hands down The BEST! Theres are a couple essays & a short book to read. She is understanding!

Prof. Rosenthal is great! I took her Eng 235 and Eng 236 class. Shes really nice and understanding! Theres weekly discussions to help pace and make sure you understand the readings! If you do the work, you should get a good grade! I got by without the book, but it is easier to get the book and have the text all in one place.

This was such an excellent class! I loved the readings that she had us do, for the most part. All you have to do for her Eng236 online course is participate in the weekly discussions and do the two final exams, which are just writing about the readings that we did. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I loved this class!

Amazing professor! I will be taking her again for English 289 (Holocaust Literature) this Fall. My advice is to print out the Midterm and Final ahead of time and answer the questions as you do the readings in class. It will save you a lot of time! There are about two to three questions on the midterm and final for each week.

I did take the 8Week class, and didnt feel pressured, with ample time to complete each assignment. Extra credit is also given, in the form of additional papers and or writing assignments. She cares for her students and is always available.

3 papers worth 100 pts. you have to do all of them to pass the class. The first 2 can be late but pts will be deducted. Informative &gives extra credit for workshops you take or resources you use from CSN. Syllabus is CLEAR and she is very responsive and nice! You will learn a lot and relate it to current events. She gives many options for topics!!

Took the 8-week English 102 and really loved this class and prof. She's super encouraging and lets you rewrite all but the very last paper for a higher grade. Answers email fast and clearly. She really wants you to succeed and lets you know she's there to help. Would recommend even if you're not so confident in English. I wasn't and she helped me.

I took the 8 week class with professor Rosenthal and I loved it, it was a very easy class. Since it is a shorter class it was pretty fast paced but nothing you cannot get done. There was a total of 3 papers that needed to get done and some discussions posts that you had to reply to but other than that I would take this class again.

This is my girl! She is such a wonderful professor. She's caring, compassionate, empathetic and hard-working and I would take her again 10 times over. Took her 4 week course, you'll read 9 different books, typically 2-3 each week. Use online resources like Youtube or Sparknotes to help. You will then answer questions and post your review of each book via discussion forum. Time-consuming class, but manageable. I took 3 other summer classes and had a full time job while taking this class.

Taz's ENG 241 class was very simple. Every week there was a discussion post and one reply to another student. The class also consisted of a midterm and final exam, which we had open from the beginning of the semester to work on. There's also an extra credit essay available. No reason not to get an A.

I took her hybrid class; it is mandatory to attend class once a week and do your discussion posts weekly. There are 3 papers that she requires. Very simple and clear on what is required for each paper, but lenient for the topics.

American Lit I was an easy class. There was a weekly discussion post (except the first week and the week of Thanksgiving), and one reply to another student. Besides that, the only other requirements were a 20 question midterm and final exam which are short answer, fill in the blank, multiple choice, or true/false. This class is very easy.

Taz's 231 class is based on discussions, a mid-term, and a final She allows you to take an extra credit paper if you need to boost your grade. You do need to buy the textbooks but it will help with your midterm and final. 10/10 rec to have Discord with classmates to help each other out with answers and compare.

This class was "The Contemporary Novel" and Taz assigned 7 novels to read throughout the semester. We had two weeks to read each novel and reply to a discussion post on our readings. She did not require reply posts. Besides that, there was a midterm and final which we could work on while we were reading the novels. She also offers extra credit.

This class was not hard it just was daunting to do. Each week you have questions to answer on the reading. There is a midterm and a final that aren't hard but she doesn't send it back to you so you don't know what you got wrong. There is an extra credit paper that is easy to do if you need an extra percent.

This class had one of the lightest workloads out of any other classes, especially in the summer semester. As long as you put in a little effort, you're pretty much guaranteed an A! Directions were very straightforward and clear, and she isn't a harsh grader by any means. She is the best prof for ENG 231/World Literature. W teacher fr fr ong no cap.

She is sweet and caring and the class is easy. I took Tuesday evenings. There's an identical class Thursday evenings you can attend if you need to miss a Tuesday, or vice-versa. Survey of English Lit II was easy and interesting. 2 self-paced exams and 2 discussion posts a week. Grading is lenient and u can even do an extra credit paper for extra points if u choose. She is nice, understanding, and answers emails quickly. I took her Eng 235 too (Survey Eng Lit 1) in the same format. Great prof, would take again.
