The best teacher ever! DO NOT MISS CLASS, YOU WILL NOT PASS! He is very passionate about teaching, he does assign a goof amount of homework, but he is VERY clear on what he wants in the assignments. He is very understanding when you miss an assignment, but don't let it be repetitive! And he always answers his texts when you text him! The best!!!!!!

Overall, professor Jose was a good class to take. His assignments were very easy to complete and he wasn't too harsh of a grader. However, since I took him for a mini-term, I feel like he had way too many assignments for us to complete in a day or two. It got overwhelming at times.

I took this class during summer A and overall, he's a great professor and is super understanding when it comes to turning in late work. There's just so many small assignments to do in such little time. I did love the environment of the class, the classwork is fun and engaging. I will be taking his class again.

One of the best professors at FIU! Attendance is SUPER important. You miss a class (which you shouldn't, class is super fun!) and there is no way to make up for what you got left behind on. GQ is super cool, super smart in his field, and has no shame in telling you how it is. Overall an amazing class, I would take him again if I could.

One of the best professors I have had and I enjoyed his class. Attendance and participation is mandatory. He is is very understanding and easy to communicate with outside of class. Lots of assignments but they are easy. You will not regret taking a class with him. He is a great Professor and you will learn lots from his class.

He does give you quite a substantial amount of work throughout the semester and you do need to attend each lesson in order to not miss out on points but if you take him you'll be engaged throughout the entire class. He is one of the nicest and funniest professors I've ever taken and I can't wait to take him again in the fall.

Professor Sherwin Jose is one of the best professors I have taken at FIU. You need attend every class in order to pass. There is alot of assignments but most of them are due in class (simple assignments). There is a 20 question final exam that the class comes up with and a mini teach (everyone is guaranteed a 100%). Definitely take him!

He's very big on in-class work so if you miss a class you won't be able to make up those assignments. He barely gives homework and if he does it's once a week and very short and easy. The best professor I've had in FIU. Assignments are straightforward and easy. You have to come up with five questions weekly, 1 mini teach (everyone gets 100%), and the final consist of questions the class comes up with. I HIGHLY recommend this professor he is amazing.

I had this professor for SCE 4310 and 4311 and he was amazing. He always wants people to participate but it's not on the spot. He's funny and energetic. The mini teaches aren't hard at all. He lets you work alone or in pairs and the most amount of time on the teaches is 40 minutes. I would take his classes again for sure. Never a dull moment here.

I took Professor Jose for SCE 4311, I wish I also took him for 4310. He's really awesome. the class had a load of work, but it was fun. He wants you to be a great teacher, and that's what you will learn from him.

Professor Jose was by far one of the best professors I've ever taken at FIU. The class was pretty easy and enjoyable. The professor is really nice and understanding; I'm taking him again for SCE4311. You do stay in class the entire time but it wasn't bad because we were always doing something that was interactive and interesting.

Professor Jose helped me see science education in a different light. He gives good feedback and creates opportunities for students to show what they know in various ways: reading responses, in-class group activities, discussion boards, and mini teaches. I would definitely take his class again.

This professor was outstanding; I had him for SCE 4310. He is lively and witty. The mini-lessons are not at all challenging, the maximum length of time is about 30 minutes, and he allows you to work alone or in groups. Definitely, I would enroll in his courses again. He is considerate, cares about his students, and desires success for all students.

Professor Sherwin Jose is engaging from the start. Attendance does matter but his way of conducting the class makes time go by quickly. Be prepared to keep up with the work but the work is self explanatory and not hard if you don't let it pile on. He's understanding and easy to reach.

The final exam comes from questions you create from the pop quizzes you have to do. sucks I wont be able to take him for 4311 because i definitely would.

He is accessible inside and outside of the class. Understanding and has clear expectations of assignments. This class was interesting and teaches you about inquiry learning in science. The course was great because of Professor Jose. Overall, great class and positive energy coming tot his class. I learned a ton through the course layout :)

Professor Jose is a great professor. He makes the class interactive and has you work on whiteboard group assignments during class. He is enthusiastic, has a good attitude, and is willing to answer any questions you may have. He also values student learning more than grades. For one of your big assignments, he will have you teach a class on a topic.

This class was a great class to learn from observations and group assignments (within class). Dr. Jose was extremely enthusiastic and made the class interesting and informative. I personally enjoyed doing the mini-teach lesson and learned a lot about the execution a 5E Inquiry based lesson.

Professor Sherwin Jose is a great professor because he helps you if you need help, etc. He is a easy grader. We don't have a lot of homework. We only have one test which is the final exam. We have one mini teach and a re teach. We did experiments in class. It was a fun class.

To be honest, Professor Jose is the best! His classes are super engaging, its a balance of fun experiments & interesting lectures. All the homework is pretty straightforward & he grades pretty quick. Definitely recommend taking his course!

TAKE HIM!!! I LOVED COMING TO CLASS! There is lots of quiz every class so if you cannot do more than one thing at once, do not take him. He is caring and very in touch with all students.

This professor is amazing, he easy to communicate with and most of his assignments are done in class so you won't have a lot of assignments to do at home. Multitask is a big component since you are completing atleast 3 assignments during class. Try not to be absent since the in class assignments are a big part of your grade. 10/10 would take again!

He starts the class by saying everyone gets an A. Attendance is important (he allows you to miss 1 class) because a lot of your grades will come from the work you do in class within your groups. Every week you have to do an article review and 5 question quiz for hw. You also have to do a mini teach + field hours.

This Professor was amazing throughout the course, if you need extra time or need help in anything he is very lenient with things. Class is easy but you must show up to be graded. Would 100% take again.

He was awesome. He helped us with anything we needed. No amount of questions were too much. He allowed extra time to help with assignments if needed. This professor is very good at what he does when it comes to teaching. He is very proficient when it comes to the physical teaching aspect. Though he does kind of have you do a lot of work, if you put in the work you will get an A.

This professor was great! There was a lot of work in class and 4 reading assignments. The in-class work is usually in a group and easy. In most classes you have mini teaches and they are really fun to watch and be a part of. He knows his stuff and gives cool insight.

So first off it helps to know that the only real main issue you'll have is his grading. You'll have streams of assignments and projects to turn in (not overwhelming though so no pressure) but you won't see them graded for a while even if you continuously email or message him about it. I learned that it's best to just wait it out, it will be graded.

Amazing Professor, he really cares about his students. I have taken him twice for both courses and he has been awesome for both. There is a lot in class work so you HAVE to attend every class. Grading sometimes takes awhile but you will have everything graded at some point. As long as you turn everything in on time you will pass with an A.

**EDG 3321** (SUMMER ONLINE) It didn't have this class option, but he deserves a review. He cares about his students in wanting to pass. Do not take advantage of it! Deadlines/ structure of assignments can be a little more organized since that made the class stress out a little bit. Microteach assignments were super tedious.

Get ready to learn. Be ready to present requested information. You will have to read about the latest news regarding scientific technological information. You must be able to thrive in a group setting. Participation is required in order to facilitate the learning experience. Be ready to take part of the discussion panel available via CANVAS.

I have taken Professor Jose for all of my science classes and wish I had more classes I could take with him. By far I would say he is one of the only professor's classes that I truly feel has prepared me for the teaching field. 10/10 recommend this class. Take it if you have a passion to learn or want to be inspired to teach more.

One of the best professors I've taken here at FIU. Although his class is long, his lectures are never boring instead all very engaging. You can definitely tell he is passionate about what he does and teaches and it's great to see that, especially in the education field, for a change. Would take any of his classes again for sure!

This was by far my favorite class of this semester!! Attendance matters but he gave us one freebie day for the semester if we needed to miss. He makes class super enjoyable and a safe/judge free environment to do our mini teaches. You have to present in this class but he makes it super fun for everyone and as long as we present we still get an A!

I absolutely loved this class! I've always been weary of science classes but Dr. Jose was thoughtful and attentive. He honestly cares about making sure you become a good teacher when you graduate and will give great feedback that you'll carry for years. 10/10 will be back next semester!

Prof. Jose's class is excellent! We have a lot of in class assignments, however they are done together as a group and uploaded during class. So, you may have 4 or 5 things due in one class, however, by the time you walk out of the class, you're done. I would absolutely recommend Prof. Jose. Great Professor! He teaches through experience unlike many other professors. Some of the assignments outside of the classroom feel like busy work but isn't too bad. I learned a lot through this professor. He is hard to reach outside of class so make the effort in person.

This class was great. It is an easy "A", if you take the time to complete the assignments. Don't wait till the end because it will pile up. Attendance is also part of your grade, and majority of the assignments requires for you to be present in class. But overall, the professor and class was great.

Do not wait until the last minute (like I did) to finish your assignments. I had a D for a long time and was stressing. I missed two classes & it pushed me back but that was not his fault. He was understanding and allowed me to make up my missed assignments. His lectures are very funny. The little kid voice/impersonations always cracked me up!

As an education major, I am very dissatisfied with the education I've been receiving at FIU until I had Professor Jose. Unlike my other education courses I've actually learned something tangible from his class. I'm a better science teacher because of him, he teaches you how to "teach" instead of shoving diversity/cultural courses down your throat.

He is a great professor! I took him for 2 semesters in a row. His work is easy and you'll do good if you show up to class. Many in class assignments but they are super simple and done in a group setting. Could not recommend him enough. He is very understand and a hilarious dude. As long as you stay on top of your stuff you should have no issues.

Professor Jose is honestly the dream teacher any student can ask for. His class provides a safe place where you can really express yourself and learn from one another. He is not so textbook heavy. We do a lot of classroom activities that are fun. He defiantly inspired me to be a great teacher like him.

Dr. Jose is AMAZING!!! I've never had such a positive and encouraging teacher! Classwork is very dependent on group work, which is fun. I've learned so much in class about teaching in general, not just teaching science elementary. Work is easy. Also, he encourages AI A LOT, so if you're not a fan of AI use, you wouldn't like the workload.
