He always talks about military school, and thinks, speaks, and acts as if he knows about everything!

Field notebook, no clue. verry vague on how things should be done.if your taking the class to get out of math its worth it. just be prepared to do some work and stay on top of it doing your field notebook last minute is a big mistake likes to say Sucka

This person was very mean. He told us not to laugh or smile, even though it was a good 10 minutes before the official start time of class. I don't like mean people.

lots of people dropped after the first day. if you think youll be abent more than 3 times dont bother. cant come in once class has started. dont make jokes because he wont think theyre funny. says "sucka" a lot. thinks he knows more than you (about your own culture!!). ugh.

seems very aggressive, like he is always on the defensive with opinions that do not corroberate with his, on subjects that are borderline conspiracy theories.

Yelled at us today for asking questions and told us we were stupid, lazy and incompetent, when really we were asking questions about mistakes he made and would not explain rules he created out of nowhere. I had a shred of respect for him before. Now I hate him. He is a shame on teachers at COD

Rarely talked about text material in class. Most of class involved showing videos about race and inequality. Tests were very hard and on material not discussed. Teacher always believed he was in the right. DO NOT TAKE

I agree with pretty much every post here to an extent, while he isnt helpful, dosent answer your questions w/o getting mad, and makes sure we are ready to know which presidents were part black... (this was a stats class btw) if you do your work, its no problem, if you slack, forget about it

Very defensive when asked questions, did not learn in class, lectures had nothing to do with the material then could not understand why we got horrible grades on tests. Very insulting to people who disagreed with him. Don't dare leave class early, ripped two guys a new one in front of everyone for doing that.

Horrible man. Loved to humiliate students who were confused because of his mistakes. He is brilliant but no people skills. Tells you he is nurturing and then tells you you are stupid if you ask questions. If you don't have endless hours to give to this class (1 project = 76% of your grade) don't take it. Class itself isn't bad, teacher sucks

Get organized & in a good group.He gives you a lot of paperwork(which you don't always need). He is hard and Yes, the field notebook is over 70% of your grade, and yes, he does get off topic.. but he's not THAT bad of a guy...Just really full of himself and how he thinks that where you go to your "bacholorian" college EVERYONE will know who he is..

one of those teachers that you tell stories about later. the class itself is not really that hard, mostly because of the great book, thats what teachs you in this class. but edwards assumes if you have a question you didnt read or werent paying attention. i had to bit the bullet and ask a few times. take this class only if required for a degree.

This man was very arrogant, and extremly un interesting. He only lectured about his own life and experiences, and picked favorites in the class. No matter how hard you tried, if it didn't appear as though you were one of his favorite students, you could forget any help with anything.

Edwards is a decent man who means well, but he's horrible at teaching stats. He knows his stuff but cannot break it down into enjoyable, intelligible, doable lectures and assignments. Lacks people skills. Too rigid. Self-congratulatory. Brusque. Find a good group, and only ask him questions after class time in his office--or he'll get pissy!

This had to be one of the worst teachers EVER! His life revolves around this boring ass class & he acts like everyone else's life should too! He SO self-absorbed & thinks he knows it ALL! At the beginning of the sem, he had 3 former students rave about him= B-O-R-I-N-G!!! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!

This guy is not a nice person if you cannot handle, being akward for hours on end don't take this class. The subject matter is rather easy, however, he is not.

A student was trying to get some clarification on something that Edwards said. Edwards said that he already explained it. It was NOT clear. The student said that he did not understand and asked another way. Edwards refused to answer it and told the student to get out of that class period. Student went to the dean and got his money back.

he really didnt help me very much, i thought he was very confusing and unreasonable and he thinks hes top dog

i felt that considering the topic it could have been a bit more interesting. we were allowed to have group tests though which helped. although we weren't assigned reading it helps to do it. a bit boring, but he does know what hes talking about and is extremely intellingent. its just hard sitting through some of the boring stuff though.

Talked way too much about his personal life. he retired from full time teaching, but is still teaching part time. This guy has got to go.

He is a very intelligent guy, and if you like listening you should go out to coffee with him, but dont take his class. he doesnt technically teach things, and he is stuck in the past. always is tlaking about racial issues. he is very closed minded if its not the answer he wants its not the right answer. he is very intense.. proceed with caution.

He is honestly a nice man, but he lacks teaching skills... You do a presentation towards the end of the semester, which bonds the class, but you learn nothing, but personal stories. The tests are easy when you read the entire chapters. He loves statistics so he'll randomly throw questions based on that. Bad teacher... I managed an A, but workedHARD

Dr. Edwards is very full of himself. He thinks College of DuPage is lucky to have him. the whole class consisted of him translating the book into his own words. I loved sociology in High School and he made me dread going to his class. The only time i enjoyed his class was one time when he showed a video on deviance. DO NOT take this class with him.

He's a nice guy, but rambles on about nothing the entire class period. He makes it nearly impossible to fail the course but his exams are killer. Take caution if you decide to have him as a teacher.

Poor educator, nice guy. Rambles a lot in class, hardly teaches anything. Very difficult to follow for his 'lectures'

He is not cool, he is disresectful toward white people which upsets me. He is a bad professor the things he does do not make sense. he is unclear while he teaches. I would not recommend him for anything
