This was my second attempt at History 13,. The first teacher I had was unorganized so I dropped. Mrs. Nomelli is amazing and anyone who wants to learn in a fun way, actually understand history, and get a good grade should take her class.

Prof Nomelli is great. She is very sweet and extremely helpful. She loves talking about history and it is difficult not to listen to her. Her assignments are fairly easy but you definitely have to study for the tests. She also gave some extra credit. The book she used was actually pretty interesting too. She gives study guide for essay exams but you need to keep good notes from her lectures because that is majority of her scantron exams. Right off expect to read two very tedious books for 4 tests. You don't really need the textbook as she does very thorough lectures that'll cover almost everything on the midterm and final. Lots of movies to take notes on for those tests as well. But she's a lot of fun and clearly cares about what she's teaching.

She's pretty easy to understand but have to be in class to pass, she talks fast so make sure to listen! Verysweet and definably wiling to help. I'm a women's studies major and so I loved this class but even if I wasn't Nomelli is an amazing professor. You learn about women of color and women starting from the 16th century. Best professor i had this term. I love her class. Her lectures were so interesting it was like story time each time i went to her class. She gives two books to read and you take two quizzes on each book. She also makes you write one 4 page essay but gives you a few months to write it. She grades quickly and her midterm and final are not that bad.

Current event papers due every few weeks. Called News/Media Journals. Grades them very easiky. Have 2 tests based on Ben franklin autobiog and 2 tests based on frederick douglas autobiog. Midterm amd final is half multiple choice, half essay and are on teo seprrate days. Gives list of hints for biography quizes. USE THEM. Must take notes on videos

Very inspirational and makes her lectures interesting to the students. Gave hints on areas to focus on for her reading assignments. The only complaint I would have is her wording on the quizzes. But she is willing to answer any questions you have during the quiz. Highly recommend. Easy A if you put in a moderate amount of effort.

The midterm and final consist of a writing portion and a 50 multiple choice questions. Questions come from the lecture. She gives the short answer questions beforehand. A very pleasant teacher with a positive attitude. She makes you work for your grade but if you are as organized as she is, the class will be fairly easy. On the written exams, it's important to explain everything about the topic since you might lose easy points. She is on the strict side, but if you treat her with reciprocal respect, then it' fine.

What can I say!? My FAVORITE history professor by far! Professor Nomelli makes you TRULY interested in the material you are learning. The textbook isn't necessary but the primary sources are VERY necessary. There are about 5 papers that you have to write so beware of that, but by simply paying attention, you'll go far.

This course consists of one midterm and one final (essay+multiple choice), four very short and easy quizzes based on short Ben Franklin and Frederick Douglass readings, and four 1-2 page journals tying current news to history. You do have to read and show up to get lecture notes (outlines, no PPTs). Very clear syllabus, extra credit, amazing class!

I took History 12 with Nomelli, and I found it pretty enjoyable. I dont really care too much for History, but she gave great lectures that were extremely engaging. Second time taking this professor! I find showing up to class every day helps with taking good notes for the exams bc you have to fill in the lecture outlines yourself. No live meetings, a few documentaries to watch and simple novels to read. Assignments are straight forward. I watched the lectures at 1.75x speed and didn't use the textbook. I will definitely be taking Professor Nomelli again!

I love her class. The things we learn as super interesting and relevant to todays society. Make sure to do all the read and answer the discussions with at least 300 words to get full credit. I bought the textbook and I have not touched it ounce. All the questions in the mid term and final are reviewed in the recorded lectures.

This was my second class with Nomelli and she was really good. The class is asynchronous so you do the work on your own time. She gives nice comments and feedback on everything. Definitely recommend as an easy history course.

She was the nicest professor ever! I took her class online during Covid and so she posts all of her lectures. The first half of the semester's lectures were kind of long-ish (about an hour) and the second half were shorter (half hour). There's a couple discussions and you have to read 2 short books. She's an easy grader and super nice.

The coursework is not at all demanding. Tests and essays were fairly easy and only covered material from the lectures, however she is pretty strict when looking for specific information. There are also very few assignments throughout the course, so it is challenging to recover a low grade. However, I had a great experience overall.

Prof Nomelli was arguably one of the best professors I've had at pierce. I took her class in spring23 and I loved it. She's cool. There's lectures every day, a couple of books we read, and with the midterm and final, she gives a clear rubric and you can basically just copy your notes down with one page for the exams. Prof. Nomelli has interesting lectures that make history interesting to learn. She is well organized and provides detailed rubrics and study guides for all assignments making it easy to be successful if you show up and participate. I would definitely recommend her and take another class from her.

Professor Nomelli provides clear guidelines with her rubric and syllabus to ensure that you obtain a good grade. Just do the work and participate. Definitely use office hours if you have any concerns prior to any assignment, quiz or test, she will assist you with what you need to know. I enjoyed her lecture most of all.

Professor is very caring and wants students to succeed. Great lectures, like a story. She provides study guides on all assignments that help students understand and do well. I would take her again.

Class was great. Just make sure to do your work on time and take really good notes. Exams are open note so you will be set if you take good notes. Nice teacher and class was very interesting. Make sure you watch lectures and read the book so that you can answer discussions well and get full credit.

Professor Nomelli has a very clear outline of the class. Lectures are a little long but very important for discussion, tests, and quizzes. I love that Professor Nomelli responds very quickly and shows she cares for her students. Her feedback is everything, take note of it! I found this class very fascinating. 10/10 recomend!

Prof. Nomelli made this class feel like we were all sitting around a fire just listening to her tell stories. And I meant that in the best way ever. Her class was so easy to follow in every aspect, lectures, assignments, tests, and grading. Super understanding and super kind. Don't miss a lecture though as you will most likely miss a lot.

the class was an easy A. class was lecture heavy but content was not boring. she allows one cheat sheet for mid term and final. attendance was mandatory. sweet woman but alittle old school with her rules.

These bad reviews must be from people who vehemently cheated or did not understand the criteria. I took her for winter so it was much more fast-paced but I still got an A. There are tons of discussions based on a certain film, quizzes are from books, and tests are lecture-based. BTW she uses YuJa proctoring. Fairly easy and give in-depth feedback.

Nomelli's class was interesting. She does require you to do the assignments but gives detailed instructions so you know exactly how to prepare and do well. She wants you to succeed in her class.

Loved her class!! She is super helpful and cares about her students, I would take her again. She gives clear instructions and feedback and is approachable. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Interesting readings and other class materials. Take her!!!!!
