Schick is cool
Very arrogant and sure of himself. Can be a pain to deal with sometimes. Pop quiz every day on notes from the previous day of class. Tests are pretty hard unless you study you're lecture notes, and there will be plenty of those. Be prepared to write pages
This Man is can realate cow poop to politics he is awsome and can make you understand anything. well if you looking for a real class and not just and easy A becasue you got to work for this one but trust me it worth it beacuse you will learn something
you will learn everything you need to know about state and local government and much more. teaching style is very helpful -- will have to study...but it is worth it
Wonderful teacher. If you listen to his lectures you don't really have to read the book. Group projects and one huge paper dues appr. 34 pages. Easy class if you don't mind writing. Offers easy extra credit at the end.
He knows his stuff very well, better than anyone I ever had. But he is difficult.
Excellent teacher, hard to get along with, very stuck on himself
fun teacher, learned alot, gotta study!!! but it pays off! :)
If you are a Liberal you will definantly love Shicke. He is a cool teacher, he gives pop quizes bout everyday to pull your grades up.
Very talented speaker but he knows it, and you will know he knows it. Has a young, hip feel to most students, but at times can be hard to deal with. He does have liberal views which are injected into classroom discussion. One of those people that can make you feel uncomfortable.
he is an arrogant liberal and instead of teaching, he constantly forces his political opinions on everyone..
He turns something that should not be so complex and makes it very confusing. Go figure, he helped write the book.
The very first day of class he is VERY agressive and will try to scare you out of coming back but I advise you to stick it out. He softens up after the first class and accutalty can be a lot of fun. ALWAYS study your notes before the next class- MEmorise any timelines, lists, charts ect. You will have quizes on your notes twice a week. Easy A if yo
Easy A or B if you study and apply yourself. You will have atleast one quize a week. BE prepared to have a quiz on the second day of class about class room rules and contact info. He is VERY liberal and if you aren't- as I am not, you just have to tune him out at time and not let his personal values get to you. Study notes before class.
Hated this class very much. He makes everything confusing while constantly infusing his own opinion into everything he teaches. If you are a hardcore democrat then you will probably love his style, but if you have an opinion that differs from his in any way, then look out, you are in trouble, as he will try to explain to you why he is right
I ABSOLUTELY HATED THIS CLASS! As a future reporter, it's very important for me to have a sound understanding of how the American political system works. I walked away from this class learning nothing even though I passed it. One good thing I can say-if you're absent during a test he's more than willing to allow you to make it up w/another class.

Unlike many people, Sabbagha's awesome! He knows his stuff and he'll make sure you know it. As long as you do your part in class, you'll have no problemos.
good teacher, fun class. doesnt force his opinions on anybody. cool guy.

A very good teacher!!!
Lively professor. Clear structure and expectations. Challenging class. I learned alot. However, completely liberally biased and verbally anti-Christian.
Fun class be carefull he has failed his younger sister who took his class with me.
I think he's a pretty good proffesor. I've enjoyed being in his class he could give more extra credit though. However a good class to take if you want to be challenged. He allowed me to think beyond the book and his notes. With this I was able to take from his class a better appreciation of how the goverment is ran. I also think he really cute
I thought the class was great. It is hard if you dont pay attention. I thought it was interesting and hopefully made an A. Make sure you do your current events.
Sabbagha is the ****ing man!!!
Hard class, but if you keep up with the work it is ok. Long papers, do your current events. Uses lots of curse words, and is liberal, but claims he doesnt teach from a liberal view, he does.
This class is fun, but hard as long as you do the work and remember your current events you should do well.
Best Political Science professor
Extremely liberal, not helpful, badgers students-- tells them often they know nothing and are poor writers/students but does not convey how to be a good student, convinced of his own moral superiority-- though he is not superior at all
Take good notes.... have a good memory u will do great.... and attend class. Don't take anything personal.
Really good teacher...must be a really good note taker and have a good memory for his classes. All the quizzes are from the notes, dicussion questions, timelines and give examples on quizzes will earn extra points. Attend his class straight through and you won't have to take his final exam...
He's hot and cute! His class is kind of tough if you don't take good notes. Do your current events! Very easy to pay attention to and always has something interesting things to say.
Sooooo hot! Me and my friends could not help but form our own little fan club for him, haha! But seriously, take good notes and look over them because that is where the pop quizes come from...and attend every single day of class and you will exempt the final!
Has difficulty remaining objective, extremely partisan. His ideology comes through in his lectures. Great class if you're a liberal.
Sabbagha is an awesome teacher. If you don't feel like working hard, don't take this class. If you want to feel accomplished at the end of a semester and feel prepared to move on to higher classes, Sabbagha is the teacher for you. Oh... and HE IS SUPER SUPER SUPER HOT!!! BE CAREFUL, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FOCUS ON THE MATERIAL IN FRONT OF YOU!!!
He is very liberal. His ideals show through in his lectures. Very partisan, and somewhat unhelpfull. He does teach well if you don't mind his liberal views.
He was average.
overall, very good teacher. liberal, but still teaches the material well (with sarcasm). just memorize notes and bring current events in and it's an easy class.
Great teacher for summer session 1!! Study for your quiz EVERY DAY! Thesis is very important start project right away
He is mean and stupid . No help in the class what's so ever. No way of communication with him in or out of class. hated him hate him. Stay away from his class if you can
This guy is a jerk. He is definitely the most biased teacher I've ever had. He loves to make people who have different opinions feel stupid in class. This class is a TOTAL waste of time unless you enjoy bashing anything and anyone who is conservative.
SUCKS!!!!! RUDE!!!! GIVES TO MANY POP QUIZZES!!!
he teaches some great classes, an easy A and it's hilarious when he makes fun of stupid students
Show up for class, take notes and you will do well in this class. He has high expectations but gives lots of extra credit opportunities. He is liberal (I'm not), but he's very intelligent and has actually thought about the issues rather than just adopting the popular position. I loved his class and learned a lot. I definitely recommend his class!
Relates current events to the lectures. Keeps lectures interesting and enjoyable. Works with students who need it.
great professor and goin to have him again for next course
I thoroughly enjoyed Intro to Poli Sci with Professor Sabbagha. His teaching method is to the point, unbiased, and very informative! I've also taken his psc 201 class, and liked it as well. He makes politics & gov't fun, interesting, but still gives you the information you need. He's great! Just make sure you study your notes!! :)
This is my third time taking this professor. He is absolutly awesome. He gives you lots of opportunities to get grades and he gives lots of extra credit. Pop quizes almost every day, but its straight from the lecture in the class before. Hes awesome, you just have to get used to him. = )
Do not reccomend.
Very interesting class! He keeps everything up to date, and goes over everything in class. You have a pop-quiz EVERYDAY, but it's only on what was discussed the previous class. We had a mid-term and one big project (which was the hardest thing about the class). He gives a ton of extra credit, so make sure you take advantage of it. He let us ex

Really rude. I have very similar political views, but i did not like him. He does not make it easy to ask questions... he get's joy out of making other people upset i think.... I really loved politics before this class... and i love politics less now..... it's unfortunate.

I have taken his twice so far. His lectures come straight from the book, and he presents it in a very understandable, relevant, fun way. Your grade is based on daily quizzes (on previous lecture), a midterm, final, and one project. He gives TONS of extra credit. I would take him for every political science class if I could. Made an A.
Online class with tons of work. BUT--as long as you stay on top of things its a great class.
I took the online class for PSC 201 and thought that it was a wonderful class. There is a lot of work involved, but if you stay on top of the Study guides, essays and projects you will have no problems in this class. If you do well enough you can skip the project and still come out with a B. I would definitely recommend him.
One of the worst teachers at this school, in my opinion. My major is Political Science so this is my stuff. I love it. I have a high GPA, but I dropped this class after the first day and added Sociology. He is extremely unprofessional, and he uses foal language all the time. He hates Conservatives, and he will make that known to you if you are one.
I thought it was a great class. You have to study your notes and start the project early but if you do that you'll be fine. He's more bark than bite when it comes to grading. I can't be the only one who finds that he leans left refreshing. He teaches to facts, not his view unlike some right leaning teachers, he makes things relevant and is funny.
I took his online class. Lots of busy work- the study guides took a long time. He is pretty sarcastic. I don't think I could have taken him in class. I went to his orientation for the online class, and that was enough to see that I couldn't handle him in person. The final project is huge, and I think he goes out of his way to make it difficult.
Sabbagha is easily one of the coolest professor's I've ever had. He gives quizzes almost daily, but if you read they are very easy. He gives a lot of extra credit, so do it. It will help immensely. I loved this class, and would recommend it to anyone interested. Easy A if you try and do the extra credit.
Very easy to understand...Take him, he has sick haircuts!
This course was very interesting. He knows what he is talking and obviously wants other people to learn about our country's political system. He is also very sexy so the ladies may find their minds wondering from time to time! Great instructor to have.
He is a great professor and makes the class fun. Going to his extra credit events also help your grade. As long as you review your notes and go over the book you should do well on his "pop" quizzes. He is very helpful too.
one of my favorite instructors ever, if not a true hardass. we deserved it, he did great.
I am embarrassed to say how little I really knew about our government before this class. He tells you what he expects, and if you follow his instructions you won't have a problem! Loved it!
very hard, he is rude. dont suggest taking him
I hate politics and i loved his class. You do have to study so if you don't like studying or writing and reading or paying attention this is not a class for you. You work for your a's in this class. He will lay everything out so you know what to do and he even gives extra credit! Everyone should at least pass this class if you try.
Mr. Sabbagha was a very good teacher. He was always willing to provide additional help after classroom hours.
He is very helpful and very interesting. He loves the subjects that he teaches and really understands. You have to work for your A but if you take good notes and pay attention the quizzes are easy. Very funny and makes the class enjoyable.
By far the best teacher at midlands, this guy is hilarious, you will learn so much in his class. He is very intelligent about the subjects he teaches. If you are willing to put in the work, you will have no problem getting an A in this class. Also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Don't take if your lazy he will tear you up.
I enjoyed the class until the end of the semester. He is totally immovable when it comes to assignments that are uploaded. I don't think he understands that students do not just take his class. I think the class could be better and if you're looking for taking a class to boost your gpa this is not the one.
Great teacher, impartial judgment of students, with a fair grading rubric and precautionary measures for practically any misfortune that would delay the learning process. Best teacher I've had since the 5th grade, will definitely be taking again.
pop quizzes, take notes keep notes. write down your questions from the pop quizes they will be on mid term and final. study everyday especially after his class. take advantage of extra credit opportunities he's a great guy but tough stay motivated!
Do not take this class. Goes out of his way making every assignment as hard as he possible can. I learned absolutely nothing over the period in which I had him. I've written at least 20 essays for his class, and have learned absolutely nothing from them. Assignment after assignment, after assignment, after assignment. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Hardest Prof. at Tech thus far!! Good guy but if you are lazy or average with your study habits don't bother taking the class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE ONLINE. It is very writing intensive and is not an easy class. It would not be as difficult if his questions were not so open ended and requiring hours of research for each question. He also wrote the book (which serves little help)this class is a required course for most, but he treats everyone like they are a history major.
He sucks, don't take him unless you want to spend your whole semester focused on his class only!
I'm confused as to why he has so many good ratings, because my encounter with Sabbagha has been everything but pleasant. The class is very hard and he is not forgiving when it comes to grades so if you want this for the easy A, take someone else. Shikre tends to be very rude and hard to approach. Some like him but personally I dreaded his class.
This guy was ridiculous!!! Not only was he rude, he was unable to talk to without making you feel like a complete idiot! Very unprofessional for the department chair of Social Sciences!! I dropped his class before the mid-term! DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!
He is a nice teacher, overall. Be prepared to read, expect homework, expect to write a lot.
Omg !!! S. Sabbagha is such a weird guy!!! He knows his stuff. Be prepared to work your butt off for that passing grade because he shows no mercy. Quizzes everyday so take notes and STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!! He's nicer during office hours so deal with him then.
Be ready for a pop quiz every day. Study your notes unless he tells you pop quiz is on page whatever. He does have a paper that is due in April but will go over it beginning of semester so if you need help you can get it.
Goes the whole class period. Has a term paper that he goes over in the beginning but not due til towards the end. Pop quiz almost every class but it is expected
Be prepared to work hard and do lots of typing papers. He knows the content but can be intimidating. Even if you are trying to get by with a C be prepared to study your butt off. Only about 10% will get an A in his class.
This is the worst class I've ever taken. There is a pop quiz everyday and he is the toughest grader I've ever encountered. His lectures are pure gibberish. He writes one word on the board and expects you to know what he's talking about. He is completely rude. Good luck figuring out what chapter you are on. Basically you have to teach yourself.
Overall great professor whom I would suggest to anyone! His lectures are wonderful (and sometimes entertaining), and he specifically states his expectations at the beginning of the course. He gives random pop quizzes at the beginning of some classes and is a fan of having 2 parts to each test, one multiple choice section and one essay.
As long as you listen and take notes in lecture quizzes and tests are a breeze
If you do the work, you will pass this class, but it is a lot of work. I take pride in my work, but this was an obtuse amount of work. It was so much work, that I didn't have time to learn the material. I had to skim the parts required for the "short" essays. He also expects research on every "short" essay. Ridiculous.
DO NOT MISS CLASS, I REPEAT DO NOT MISS CLASS. POP QUIZZES ALMOST EVERY DAY. HEAVY LECTURING. However, if you devote your time to the class, you will do very well.
I'm currently taking his online PSC201 class. If I could give one piece of advice- WORK AHEAD. Lots of discussion questions for each chapter, and moves fast. If you read your notes and book and have the time to dedicate- you will do well. He is a little bias in his current events, but still a good/fair professor overall. Would take again.
He was a nice teacher. The work load wasn't as heavy as I thought it was going to be. His Test are just like the study guide and he tells you about pop quizzes the class before. Its an easy class if you just study.
I am in the middle of taking his class right now and I enjoy it. I see a lot of people did not like the dailey pop quizzes, but we are online so luckily we don't have those. So far the tests have been hard but he gives you the essay topics weeks in advance so as long as you do the work and keep up you will be fine.
Not a bad class. Discussion posts were too long and time consuming, but quizzes were open book and tests had 3 attempts. 2 different papers to write, which were graded promptly. Grading felt arbitrary, and very little and unhelpful feedback was provided, making it difficult to improve in the future. Professor was very easy to contact via email.
This class is a lot of work, but if you put in the effort, you can succeed. The professor is challenging but fair - expect pop quizzes and essay-style exams. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for my study prep. Overall, a rewarding experience if you're willing to put in the time.
