She is a great teacher, just make sure you do your work and study! If I can get an A anyone can :)

miss G is the tightest. her class is hard but do your work and she is hella cool.

everyone can tell she is hard but i think is is so easy. Although we have to do a lot of works in her class, she makes it very easy. She gives a lot of extra credit. At first i think she is so hard and i wanna drop her class, but then i got an A. Her class is very easy to get A as long as u do all assignments and hw. i recomend her.Very Helpful

She does require a lot of work. But if you want to get an A, you better expect to work hard. Plus she gives a lot of extra credits. Therefore, it is possible to earn your "A." I did my best and got an A. You can do it too. Giedd is a smart professor and grades hard, but do your best and she will help you.

I like the way she talks. It cracks me up. I am asian too just like her, but she just makes the class very enjoyable. She picks on me a lot, but I like that because it is funny to me. You will have to do BOOK REPORTS IN HER CLASS! AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PRESENT IT. But so far, its still super fun with a fun classmates!

She knows her stuff and knows it well, she knows what she is talking about and expects you to ask if you are unclear. TONS of work, but it's EASY, just make sure you are on schedule with her syllabus, lots of reading and writing. She is very helpful! VERY SMART INSTRUCTOR!

Her Vietnamese accent is slight, but still understandable. Take notes during lectures (even power points); helpful on hw. Read assignments from Critical Reading text; quizzes are extra credit. Do online assignments on Blackboard and MyReadingLab. The 2 research projects are simple. Vocab is easy, even for 50 words. I learned lots; so will you!

Great professor and very helpful. She is more lenient towards you if you participate in class and ask for help. Online assignments aren't that hard but they are a big part of your grade. Vocab test every two weeks or so and if you study from the book, it's not hard. Reading tests online every week but it's also easy. I would def. recommend her!

Ms.Giedd is very easy.We had a few writing assignments and online assignments. She has a dry sense of humor, but is very easy. I would recomend her.

First class i ever received a C in and not cuz the class was hard but it was just extremely boring. Easy A if u are into not being challeneged and need a filler class or getting a degree at the CC level, otherwise if u are tranferring and need a class to make you a better student watch family guy or something. Shini is cool, helpful, & kinda cute.

A lot of people say she is hard but they are slackers. She is VERY clear on the lectures. The HW is extremely easy! Just show up and read the articles she assigns. Her class opens up a whole new way to think critically.

the hardest part of this class--> too many homeworks!!! hard grader too!!! no one got an A,,,few B's,,,lot of C's...some failed

Good teacher!! willing to help if you talk to her! understanding too! she has a bit of an accent but clarify well. Remember your readings and do your hw. Hw is easy but you still can't be lazy.

Great Professor. Make sure you attend class and do all online homework and you will be fine. Vocab tests are easy and the online work as well. Rule of thumb do all assignments otherwise you will not pass. Also requires you to do my reading lab. pain in the rear but if you dont do it u wont pass.

Honestly, I'm a lazy student. She assigned our class about 3 essays and a book report. Did all my hw the night before it was due, but still passed with an A. I think if I would've studied more, i'd pass with 105%. She gave extra credit work which increased my grade by 7%. Overall, nice teacher!

People can say what they want, I honestly think she did her part as being an english teacher. She tries her best to make the class a fun and that's all that counts. And the books she lets us read are always so interesting.

It was easy to pass her class. the only thing is she was strict on being specific in your writing and that you should never leave your reader confused on what your writing is about. She is a very funny teacher and I've never fell asleep or been bored in class.

Class is not hard at all as long as you keep up. Slacked off with 2 essays and managed to pass with a B. Quizzes where hard at first, but if you read the short essays twice you might get all your points (Only 5 quizzes). 10 Essays 300-400 words. 1 research paper and 1 book evaluation. No extra credit so keep up with your points. Responds promptly.

Professor Giedd is nice and easy going! Lecture isn't as boring as I thought it would be bascially everything you will discuss is based on the book (NOT textbook) that she required for students, other than that come to class. BE PREPARE to write 2 essays it's not as bad as it sounds! And at the end of each chapter of the book there WILL be quizzes!

The class discussions are really interesting if you actually do your work and participate, otherwise you will be lost in class. She's hands down one of my favorite teachers, I very much enjoyed her class. I am super excited to be having her as a teacher again next semester.

At first I came to this class hesitant about what I heard other people saying they read on Rate My Professor. She gives homework, make you read, quizzes (group quizzes too), and group work! However, no mid term nor final. There is a library tutorial you've to do and a research paper. She VERY understanding, and if you're serious she'll help you!

Its not mandatory that you go to class everyday but if you have perfect attendance you can skip the final. If you do have perfect attendance, you can still do the final and have that as extra credit. She gives so many opportunities for extra credit. Her lectures are good. We only had 2 papers (and the final if you took it). They were tough.

Professor Giedd wants her students to achieve success. She may be a hard grader but she gives her students chances and extra credit which is important. I would definitely recommend taking this class.

You'll regret it if you don't her class. She is an awesome professor and offers lots of extra credit for her students. She is very well-organized and willing to help if students ask for it. Plus, if you go to class everyday, you don't have to take the final. There's a total of two books that will be assigned to the class, but it wont cost much.

Professor Giedd is amazing and caring. She gives you an opportunity to redo your work because she wants you to succeed. She is a hard grader but if you put in the work and correct your mistakes youre good. She also gives you an opportunity to earn extra credit. She really likes her students and tries to help them any way she can.

An amazing professor who is passionate about what she's teaching. The books that are assigned for the class are really interesting as well as the discussions that go along with the reading. She does assign homework questions with the reading but just do them and you will pass her class. Also, perfect attendanceno final or final can be extra credit

Took professor for Fall '19. She knows what she wants so if you deliver it to her, you'll get a good grade. Homework and quizzes about every week and she gives out A LOT of extra credit. No midterm but there are 2 papers and a presentation. Interesting class discussions. If you're never absent, final is extra credit.

I have her during the coronavirus pandemic. i missed more than one week of class due to personal issues arise from the virus, but the professor let me make up 7 assignments! btw if you never missed class you could skip the final, so thats nice.

We had a few writing assignments each week (400 words min) and 3 essays plus a final research paper. Grammar quizzes are essentially assignments you can redo if you want a higher grade. She gives lots of extra credit. Final is a presentation and a discussion which are based on your research paper. Great class and great professor!
