He didn't like me very much because I talked in class a lot but overall he was a good teacher. You get four tests, and your top three scores make up your entire grade for the class. If you do the homework, which is not mandatory, it's pretty much exactly like the test so you should do pretty good.

This professor is really caring about his students. He explains difficult topics in simple and precise way. You do not need to buy a book, just print out his handwritten lectures before coming to the class, so you can put your notes on it. If you come to lectures, listen actively, and practice homework questions you will do well on the tests.

Professor Kuang, is very nice. He takes feedback very well, and he went over some questions that we had from the homework. You have to ask questions, and really do the homework in order to understand and remember. Do the homework assignments 3-4 times, and if you are having a hard time understanding do the homework 5 times. I didn't get a tutor.

Professor Kuang is a very respectable teacher and he truly cares for his students. Just make sure to do the given homework multiple times over and over again as doing so will really help you on the exams. Attendance is really important to understand this course. Professor Kuang is very funny and makes the class so enjoyable; I learned so much.

Great professor & clear grading criteria! Lectures can be a bit tedious, but if you pay attention and do the homework, you're guaranteed to pass. Homework is not mandatory but all exam questions are pulled directly from the homework! Would definitely take another one if his classes if need be.

His classes end early most of the time, but there can be times where he starts going off topic. Answers any questions students may have and is very punctual when it comes to emails. The summer course was straight to the point.

If you follow the teacher's instructions for each chapter, you will have no problems on the test. Because all the test questions are from homework. The exam is all about multiple choice. In general, this lesson is easy A if you are willing to take the time to learn.

You really have to pay attention to his class or you won't pass. His class is an easy A. All his test are coming from the homework. Although, English is not his first language, he tries to explain lecture thoroughly enough. His class is very straight forward.

Your grade is composed of your 3 out of 4 best test scores. There is no homework, he just sends individual practice tests for each unit. The tests are identical to the practice tests. If you do them, the tests are a piece of cake. The only downside is that he has a very thick accent, so don't expect any help from him.

I took Professor Kuang over the summer during the COVID pandemic and he made the class very enjoyable over Zoom. He drops 1/4 tests, and provides detailed notes of the lectures as well as the homework. If you do the homework, the tests should not be hard for you. I got the textbook but honestly didn't use it often. I highly recommend him.

Online 8 week stats class. Zoom calls were mandatory and he would say that he drops you if you dont show up. 4 tests 1 gets dropped. No cumulative final grade is only based on 3 out of 4 tests. He has hard accent to understand sometimes.

He is a very nice teacher who drops 1 low test grade which can be really helpful. If you rely on homework to boost your grade dont take him because he only grades tests. But if you do well on tests then this is the class for you! He also gives lots of breaks during zoom lectures.

The shift to online courses have been drastic,but this professor has made it work with videos that go over the subject and being easily accessible via email with quick responses for any questions on the subject. Many are quick to criticize Mr. Kuang's accent and persona, however, as someone with an Asian immigrant father, I can assure you that there is no malice in his words. Kuang incorporates real-world situations into the statistics class, making it relatable and interesting to see how statistics might play a role in our everyday lives.

Summer course (compressed schedule) - Professor answers questions interactively during the course, but I couldn't get a hold of him outside of class. Course was graded by four exams + lowest dropped. Material is straightforward, but some concepts are "plug-and-chug" without much chance to develop intuition. Tests are all MC, and modified HW q's.

Taking this class in the summer is difficult, but manageable. Being diligent to understand the material and do the homework is key to passing the class. Professor Kuang is passionate about statistics and uses real-world situations to keep the class more enjoyable.

I took this class over the summer. There are four exams in total and the lowest score will be dropped. It is very important to do the homework and from exam 2 topics gets more harder. Participation is mandatory and the lectures will not be recorded. Professor is very caring and did his best to explain all the lectures.

Summer: It was really fast paced. Still, I was able to keep up and do very well in this class. Professor Kuang is a solid professor. On the very first day, he made it clear that we are graded on 4 tests, but what's nice about it is that the tests are VERY similar to the homework. I took his summer online Math10( Intro to Stats), and received a satisfying grade. The lectures are packed in 8 weeks, and there are four non-cumulative exames. Homeworks are not turned in, and the exams are mostly based on homework with similar formatting. He shares his lecture notes with clear outlines. Overall, I had learnt from his teaching.

I took MATH10 over the summer and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Professor Kuang is super clear with the curriculum and his lectures are easy to follow. The grading is heavily dependent on 4 tests (which are non-cumulative). If you do the homework and pay attention to the lectures, you will not only do great in the class but also learn a lot.

Dr. Kuang is one of the most engaging professors I have ever had at IVC. He goes into depth in most statistics lessons and relates them back to real world events in fun slideshows. He even drops the lowest test score and even the final if all other tests equal an A grade.

I take math 10 this semester in Professor Kuang's class. He is strict to the student but it is good for you since he pushes you to study and get a good grade. Also, the test grade comes out very quick which is good to me since I will feel dysphoric if it takes too long. The class is in a normal level, class includes what you gonna be tested.

Makes you work for the A

Its almost impossible to not succeed in Professor Kuang's class due to the amount of resources he provides weeks ahead (notes, videos, practice problems). HW is optional too, but is highly recommended to complete and master as the tests are entirely based on the hw, and so there are no surprises. Higly recommend this class!

Overall, I thought Kuang was a good professor. He mostly plays pre-recorded lectures doing our zooms and requires attendance, I thought that was dumb since we could just watch the videos on our own time. 3 Midterms and a Final. If you get all A's on your midterm you don't need to take the final! Homework after every lecture which is fairly simple to complete!

Professor Kuang is a very good professor who explained material well. I had a night class from 7-10 on mondays and he was very understanding that it was late at night and often ended early. Your grade is based entirely off tests and no homework goes in the grade book, so make sure to prepare well for exams.

You have no mandatory attendance requirements for this class. Although there is homework, it is not required to be completed and handed in. There are only three exams in a semester. The professors are very humorous and the class atmosphere will not be boring.

He drops the lowest test score!! To get an A, you would need to maintain a 27/30 on at least three of the four tests. If you do the homework and understand, you will see that it is very similar to the tests. Also, they are all open note which helps A TON.

There are 3 unit exams with a final exam, and the lowest grade is dropped from final grade. I had a family emergency, but there was no flexibility with exams. He is a very fair and supportive professor. Lectures per class in total are around 2-3 hours including homework breaks. Since it is also a night class, some classes will be done early and he makes the class enjoyable with fun little stat informational videos.

Even though this class may be pretty challenging, it is manageable as long as you pay attention during class. Additionally, he always gives time (even some time outside of class) for questions. Although your grade is solely based off of 4 exams, they are open note, and he always drops the lowest exam grade.

It was a great class experience! The material was clear and easy to follow along to, and he makes the class interesting by telling us how what we're learning connects to the real world.

Professor Kuang was very accommodating with everyone's learning speeds and was thorough with his lectures. He broke down each topic in detail and explained how he got each number which made his lectures very easy to understand. Although the class is in person, he uses videos to teach his lectures so that students can replay videos at home.

Professor Kuang was very thorough with his lectures by breaking each number in the math problems down, making to easier to understand and digest. He teaches his lectures using pre-recorded videos which allows students to re-watch the lectures at home for studying and to better understand topics.

As long as you are doing your homework and listen to the lecture, this class will be an easy A. He drops the lowest exam score and the exam questions are the based off of the homework questions.

While he mainly used video recordings of lectures that were already recorded and he showed in class, he also went over anything that he thought was complicated and reviewed it in combination with homework in order to make sure that you got it. Combined with dropping the lowest test and being able to use your notes on the exams, it wasn't too bad.

He did go over everything in 8 weeks but it did not feel too rushed and was very helpful when questions where asked. I did enjoy the live and prerecorded lectures but some do need to be redone, as some of them have background noise and other students talking that can be distracting. Overall I really enjoyed the class and Professor Kuang.

Great Professor! The class itself is challenging, be ready to put in hours of work and make sure you understand the content like the back of your hand. The test are out of 30 questions and you are allowed to bring notes in but there is about six questions on each test that is nothing like the material taught.

Professor gives out gives out great annotated notes it will be easy to get an A. There is no mandatory HW, assignments. Your grade is only based on tests. Great teacher! Make sure to try to go to every single class, attending the lectures are very important. Still have the take the final exam, but I am very confident that I will pass. Class itself was usually a lecture and then working on hw in class for the last 15-20 min. Before exams, the last class before the test was always an in-class q&a.

Pretty easy to fall behind if you miss classes. He does assign homework but you don't need to do it (more like extra help). 4 exams in total and 1 drop. He lets you drop the final so if you do well on the first 3 tests you don't need to pay attention after, however, you still need to show up.

The professor is very nice and doesn't take names in class. However, there is only one class a week this semester, and one class has a lot of content, most of which requires self-study. There is no homework, so the score on the test is the final grade. There are 4 tests in total and the three highest scores will be taken at the end for the grade.

I mostly put the low grade on myself for not taking stats too seriously but it helped to have a very straightforward system of having your tests be mirrored to your homework. I enjoyed taking Professor Kuang's class. He takes the best 3 out of 4 exams for your overall grade and the exams are relied heavily on the homework. If you want a good grade in his class then it is imperative that you study and actively do the homework in order to understand the material and be confident on the exams. I took professor Kuang for Math 10, he's a great professor. Me personally I'm not good at math so taking stats was a bit difficult but if you pay attention to the lectures and homework you'll do great. The tests are mainly from the homework so I would suggest to be up to date with the homework if you want to pass.
