Does not care about your success in her class
No Comments
I took the online class. It was pretty easy. All i did was read the chapter summaries and do the online discussions, and I got an A.
DONT DO IT. This was the worst teacher I have ever had. She skipped class about 4 times and would in turn skip lecturing material. She would test over things she said she wouldnt test on. She also talked about her and her kids as if no one was better than them. She condescends you when you ask ?'s.
after her class I changed my pschy major to undeclared. nice lady but not good teacher. Boring lectures. no method to actually get knowledge to sink in. in one ear, out other. tests were foreign. all year u sit and listen 2 her, at end expects you to buddy up with classmate and spend hrs on your time to complete a project and present to class. suck
Dr. K was very nice and funny. Tests were kinda tricky, and had to study for EVERYTHING in the chapters she assigned. She gave you multiple opportunities to get an A. Lectures--are boring. BUT, other than that it is not hard to get an A in her course.
Very good at lecture. Read the chapters and understand theories and you'll do fine on tests. Strict on attendance, a couple of short papers (EASY), research paper and presentation which aren't difficult. No homework and plenty of ops. for xtra credit. Not a time consuming class!!
She was very nice and funny. Her tests were kinda tricky, be sure to study the book and lecture notes! She gives numerous extra credit opportunities! There is also a group project at the end, which wasn't hard at all! Very easy class! But, def. read the book! (She tests on alot of that material)
Took as distance learning, easy easy class. Teacher tends to be a little boring, talks about her kid alot on discussion board, but she grades fairly, tests are easy, lots of extra credit. Do it if you want the easy A.
Took the ONLINE course. Textbook was good. Teacher was fair in grading and the course was good overall. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Tests are more in-depth than the average class at ACC and cover a wider range of information. Often 80 pages of material with questions on very specific details. Put in the hours of studying and you'll do fine.
Took online course. The tests require a lot of reading and studying, but the textbook is interesting. There are practice quizzes online you can take, and she gives multiple extra credit opportunities. This course isn't too hard, just study a lot before the test, and you will do fine.
I took ONLINE class, and when I had questions, and needed to get a hold of professor, it took her a WEEK to respond to my email. I've gone to her office a few times, and had no luck. I went to her TA's office (work hours) to check on the results of my tests and see where I was wrong, and had no luck. I left a message for TA to call me back, and nob
Took the online class...she was completely unresponsive when I needed her help. She was rude on the phone (even though she asks you to be "professional" in your dealings with her). She was completely demeaning and unbearable. She does not listen to you when you try to explain your point to her. I DO NOT recommend this class for anyone!

She was completely demeaning and unbearable. She does not listen to you when you try to explain your point to her. I DO NOT recommend this class for anyone! Useless!
If you ever dispute anything with her, make sure you have it all recorded. She easily mixes up her facts.
Took the online class. She twists up the facts between the text, online quizzes and tests...makes them waaaay too hard! I could not get above a B on a test because she screws with you! Her TA's seem to run the class and grade poorly.
Very easy class if taken seriously. Dr. Khosropour kept coming up with extra credit opportunities during the course and made it very hard to fail. Read the book, take some notes and complete all of the required work. By the time I got to the final exam, I needed to make a 20% to keep an A. Grade is based on different assignments (not just exams).
I was scared of taking the online class after reading some of these reviews but did it anyway. Dr. K is fair, funny, and offers many extra credit opportunities. Tests are multiple choice but DO require you to have done the reading. The average student should be able to get a relatively easy B or A if you just do the work like you're supposed to.
Entire class felt like tests were completely unreasonable. Test questions were from obscene points in the text that were not even relevant to the subjects covered. When asking for help she will say that she is willing to be there for anybody who needs it but actually does nothing.
Dr. Khosropour is a very good teacher. She answers emails extremely quick. I don't recommend taking the 8 week course unless you are an A student, and are very disciplined. She is very understanding and professional. She also has 2 TA's that will help you too. I would definitely recommend this teacher. Taking her next Semester too.
I would not recommend her. Doesn't know the answers to the test questions herself. Off topic all the time. Just there for a social gathering and doesn't teach. Somebody better tell her we have Oprah for that
She's a great teacher. I took her online class & got an A. I worked hard, read the book, complied w/ all the requirements. She's helpful, gave extra credits & responded to emails in timely manner.
Took her honors class, it was the first time this class was taught so we had a lot of autonomy. Very interesting woman and very well informed. She asks a lot but in return we learned a lot. I would absolutely take another class from her in the future if I wasn't transferring.
Very helpful. Tests were a bit hard, you really need o know the concepts and material. You need to read each chapter before she lectures on it and take the online quizzes on time. I recommend taking her class. Easy A or B.
If you are hoping to learn and gain the wisdom of a teacher's experience, this is not the class for that. While she is kind and approachable, she often cancelled class. When present, it was all straight from the book. I felt like I did not get my money's worth. If you are a psyc/soc major, you may not get what you want in her class. Good luck!
She is an terrible professor, gets off the subject not informative and shes mean. Do not take her class she will not help you at all.
Without question, she's the best professor I've ever had. I learned so much about PSYC in her class, but I found that I learned more about myself. Her teaching style made her a great role model for me. I doubt that I'll ever have a professor as amazing, and certainly not one that can have such a great impact on me. I was lucky to be in her class!
The concerns raised by others are valid, her tests are poorly written (as are the homework questions) and many are on obscure information that is not relevant for understanding the subject. An example: what percentage of Americans believe in ESP. Taking her class online and she doesn't contribute on the discussion board.
DO NOT TAKE HER! Didn't receive any help for having to work full-time while being a full-time student. She Needs to change her individual deadlines to unit deadlines for the last day to take the exam, it would have bumped me up a letter grade if she did that, and she intentionally makes test questions ambiguous, to throw you off while testing.
Behavioral methods class was sigh........ Difficult. This is pretty much a self taught class . Her tests are completely tricky but gives you xtra credit opportunity. I attended everyday and made a c
Do Not take her class, she does not have any knowledge about psych. Took this class on line, she does not assist you with anything. you read your txt book and take the connect test 100 questions each chapt. I studied really hard and made a C. AVOID HER!!!!
DO NOT TAKE her class. She dose not have any knowledge about Psych. She intentionally make test questions very tricky to throw you off. I DO NOT recommend this class for anyone.
The professor did not grade assignments or respond to emails in a timely manner. It was obvious she had no interest in teaching the class and relied heavily on an online course guide. In addition, she did not prepare you for the final exam or even respond to emails about the grade you received on the exam. I still don't know what I made on the test
Could learn much more if the class was structured.
Online class was well organized and laid out efficiently. The professor tells you exactly what to do in the syllabus. As long as you put in the work necessary you will pass this class with a decent grade.
I took the 6 wks online class with Dr K and would absolutely recommend her. Her lectures were interesting, clear, and well structured. She is prompt to answer questions or comments and is quick to grade. I learned a lot during this intro class, though be prepared to read a lot. Follow deadlines, do the work and you'll get an A.
Really fun, interesting, easy class. Highly recommend her as a professor. I really learned a lot but wasn't too stressed out by the class.
I enjoyed this class. I did the work and I got a B for the class.
I took Professor Khosropour's Peace and Conflict Studies course my first semester at ACC. Her course was very interesting and the work load was easily manageable. She is personable and cares for her students. I highly recommend her course. As long as you participate in class and show that your their to learn she will meet you half way.
Professor Khosropour's class (Intro to Psychology) is the best class I've ever taken, honestly. It was very engaging and interesting, and she's very friendly and knowsenjoys what she teaches. She uses an unusual teaching method that I t hink is more effective, and in the least, a good change from the usual. I would take a class taught by her again
Show up to class, take the online exams, read your material and it's an easy A! She is easily available during her office hours and is very understanding to personal situations that may arise. Don't expect her to give you a good grade however. As long as you work for the online tests it's a fun class and quite entertaining!
I emailed her a couple of times with questions. She was great! Very responsive and very clear. I knew what was expected and I followed the syllabus. It was my first online class and was a great experience. I learned a lot. I would definitely take a class with her again.
Good professor as far as I see. His instructions were clear. Normal online class.
I took Introduction to Psych online from Dr. Khosropour. Her class was great! If you complete all the assignments on time and get a good grade on the final it's an easy pass. There are no pop quizzes or tests along the way, but the final is comprehensive, so be sure to review well. She was friendly and helpful in emails and grading comments too.

Great class.
Teacher puts extremely little input into her online class. You learn entirely from the textbook. The class would be greatly improved on if she drafted a study guide for the final that reflected the way the questions are written and what content is on the test because taking the hundreds of quizzes offered from the online book doesn't help much
It's hard to believe there would be any negative feedback. Intro to Psychology (14281). Clear grading criteria, feedback, and very helpful. If you put the effort in to do your assignments on time there is no reason not to get an A. I just completed the class with an A and I've been out of the loop class wise for ten years. Great professor!
Normal online class. You learn basically by reading the book and taking open book quiz's online. Professor responds to emails quickly. Had no problems taking this course. Easy A. You'll get a B without any effort...
Professor Khosropour is an experienced and dedicated teacher. She was extremely helpful and available to answer questions or concerns through email. I took this course online but found her to be very kind and thoroughly enjoyed meeting her during a talk regarding the role education plays in resolving world conflicts. I highly recommend taking this course with her. The class does require hard work and lots of reading, so put in the effort and you'll do well.
Kind, caring, and helpful teacher. I took online course. It is a good amount of work, but not difficult. If you want an easy A and not work for it, this class is not for you. If you are an honest hard working student, my advice is to do all the course work and there should be no reason you wouldn't get an A. There are no wrong answers in this class
Professor Khosropour is the best!! Her online class is set up perfect for students who can learn on their own in a fast paced world, like myself. She responds quickly and will help if you ask for it. I highly recommend her to anyone, but with any college class be prepared to work and do your best!
BY FAR the most interesting class I have taken at ACC. Uses her experiences to relate material to the class. She is very clear on the directions and grading. Very helpful and understanding. Read the book and handouts, participate in class and you should make a good grade in her class. You won't regret taking this course with Prof. Khosropour!
She was very clear about everything she expected of you as a student. Class was fairly simple but you can't slack off must be prepared to do work. Great class I would definitely take the class again.
She gave us due dates for our assignments to turn in online and then waiting until after the due date had passed to actually give us the assignments. She's confusing and hard to deal with, not someone you want as a professor.
Answers all emails quickly and extremely helpful!
Dr Shirin is absolutely amazing. she made me enjoy online classes, i wish she's in charge of all my other courses would have loved to take her over and over again. if contemplating registering for psychology online, please make sure you go for her, you will be glad you did. on your part try to be a diligent student. wish y"all d very best.
Dr. Khosropour's class was my first online class and it was definitely a lot of work. Her syllabus is very thorough though and kept me on track to finish on time. It was time consuming but definitely worth it and in the end I found myself enjoying the chapters I needed to read. Overall I enjoyed the class quite a bit and I'm glad I took it.
Not a terrible class but very, very time consuming. Prepare for hours of read and be sure to take notes! I used 2 entire notebook for this class but it really helped on the final. She uses a great online book which is very interactive but all that screen time caused me some seriously bad headaches. Be prepared for board discussions.
Very clear with her expectations for assignments. As long as they are met by the due date, then it's an easy A. There is a lot of reading which is to be expected....I highly recommend this professor.
Shirin is a great teacher and makes class interesting. She cares about her students and as long as you take notes on the book and do the assignments, you should get an A.
Shirin is an amazing Prof. I am so glad I took her intro to psych course my first semester of school. If she still has openings for her peace and conflict focused class, TAKE IT! It will truly change and expand your outlook on life. She typically has seminars outside of class, go to as many as possible.
She's pretty easy and makes online class a breeze. Still a super interesting class and I loved it through and through.
I took her Psych 2301 peace and conflicts focus class, a newer program at ACC which she helped create. One of the best professors I've had, you can tell she actually cares about what she is teaching. Her style of teaching is engaging and effective without feeling like you're actually doing work. There is assignments, but you'll have fun doing them.
This course is what you make of it; if you pay attention and participate, then you just might change for the better. Everything that you're graded on is laid out in the syllabus, and there are opportunities for extra credit.
A specific book was mandatory purchase. Grades were based on 16 quizzes, 16 homework assignments, and 4 papers/discussions submitted on black board. This online class entails lots of reading. As long as you read, do the assignments and stay on top of things, getting and A should be easy.
Reading the chapters is a must because the lectures revolve around conversations with the students about the topic. The Student Learning Project was a really good excuse to get out and explore the field a bit. You'll do well if you follow directions and read the syllabus.
online course textbook with MindTap access: best learning app and online learning software I have ever used! must post in blackboard discussion boards using proper grammar and MLA citations from textbook. offers extra credit opps - but you really have to put yourself out there to get it. worthwhile professor, worthwhile readings!
Shirin is passionate about her subject and it shows in every class period. She i fun, caring, intelligent, available and respects her students.
The workload is fairly decent as you will take an online test every week, along with a chapter mastery assignment. If you can manage your time properly her class will be easy. The in-class discussions are a lot of fun and are really engaging, there is no textbook focus on definitions but you are actually applying them critically.
I took this class and ended up dropping it she didnt seem like a good professor and all she ever wanted to talk about was herself and all of the clubs she was in. Also there were a lot of papers that she was expecting and a one hour presentation she did however offer extra credit to anyone but that involves going places and listening to lectures.
Here's the thing this course requires mindtap and most of your grade comes from doing the mastery training and quizzes. What I'd recommend is downloading the app and doing your mastery training on the go as they come up. The program only lets you study for short periods so you can't cram. You have blackboard discussions as well, no tests, no final.
While well intentioned, she is completely disorganized. The class was not her priority (by the looks of things, that's a theme). She was always late or absent and always ran over, her lectures were constantly off topic, and she adds surprise assignments that are not on the syllabus. If you're there to learn, she's not for you.
She was great!
I took this class online in 5 1/2 weeks. It was a challenge but definitely doable. Give yourself time to complete the work in Mindtap as it is extremely time consuming. No test, no finals, but you will read, complete mastery, quiz and discussion board for each chapter. Sounds easy, but have a lot of time to finish and meet your deadlines.
I took the 5.5 week online class. The syllabus is very straight forward: do the modules, quizzes, and discussions every week due Monday. You have to read for the quizzes and to be able to write the discussions well. The mindtap was kind of expensive ($100) which I didn't like. If you complete the work though it is an easy A.
Unclear with expectations. Unprofessional. Unavailable (canceled office hours for half of the semester). Didn't respond to emails. Gave due dates for assignments on blackboard and then failed to post the assignment or give students information on them. Changed grading scheme for the course in the middle of the semester. Overall a very bad Prof.
Dr. Khosropour explained the information for the Conflict and Resolution studies in an easy to understand way. Her lectures were fun and interactive. She grades fairly and is understanding if students need extra time. This class consists of an internship that is fulfilling and allows you to utilize the theories learned in class. Highly recommended
Professor Khosropour is passionate about the field of Peace & Conflict studies and engages students in exploring the subject matter and applying it to real-life situations. Her lectures were enjoyable and easy to follow. She asks thought-provoking questions and genuinely wants to know what students think. I highly recommend this internship class.
So interesting, you just want to stay back after class and keep discussing the topics. Don't take the hybrid class though, you just get one class session, which sounds good but the reading homework plus all the other assignments will kill you. The classes are the best part, with lots of discussion, so choose the option with all the class time.
She was kind and understanding especially during this COVID time. She really appreciates students opinion and loves to talk to us. The test questions were sometimes tricky but its open textbook anyways. I do wish I could take more of her classes because I really enjoyed her!
Excellent lectures, listen close!
The online book was a difficult read for someone having retina issues; didn't like the paper copy either. Prof was professional, knowledgeable, personable, and very likable. Love her psychology viewpoints and the discussions about applying peace and conflict concepts. I'd love to take another course from her in the future.
This is the internship class for the PACs degree. It's been well managed and pivoted when we needed to pivot. The texts are small, but powerful. I learned so much from this class and can't wait to take next steps in creating peace beyond.
Definitely recommend taking her! Lectures were always engaging. Test over every chapter. NO FINAL. 4 short writtings. Responds to emails quickly. She is very understanding and don't hesitate to contact her if anything comes up.
Took an average of 10 days to respond to emails, didnt allow questions about assignments, late in updating grades, cancels class and office hours, not engaging and passive aggressive. If you take this course expect to do a lot of assuming because it was very hard to get her to communicate through email, class, and office hours.
Overall she was a ok teacher. She wasnt good at emailing you back until tje end of the semester. Sometimes she even ignores you on email and sends a group email to the class that can be passive aggressive. She was very unorganized. She didnt really know how to teach tje class. On the other hand, she is very empathetic and nice.
Shirin has definitely structured this class in an interesting way and I learned a lot. However, most of that learning was done on my own. Unclear expectations, no communication on assignments, passive aggressive and overall detached from our class. Easy A if you do all of the work, don't expect her to explain anything about it, though.
Everything was made clear in the syllabus. The professor was responsive and gave great feedback.
Dr. Khosropour is an incredibly sweet and understanding lady. Her class for me was a once a week hybrid class that relies heavily on online assignments for grading. She loves favoriting students who participate. The grading system is a little complicated so get organized with assignments as she sometimes forget to remind you.
Dr. Khosropour is the best! Her class was hybrid so all the work was online and the class was discussion based. You are graded in blogs (discussion boards) for each chapter, chapter quizzes-open note, four essays, and two more assignments. She really cares about her students and about them learning and applying the concept she teaches. Recommend!
one of the best profs ive had, she truly cares about students and their well beings. on top of that, she has no final or tests for that matter. there was a textbook but it was free and the quizzes I believe were open notes as well. the workload is not too much at all and is fairly spaced out and her class in general is fun! it's also hybrid.
Dr. Khosropour is an incredibly understanding professor with lots of helpful information! The course consists of lots of reading, but the information is easy to follow and very informative. Dr. Khosropour is also very understanding when it comes to late work and life outside of class, just be sure to communicate with her beforehand :)
I took Prof. Khosropour online over the summer mini term. Clear cut class, complete your chapter quizzes and prep as soon as possible. 3 graded discussions, make sure to follow the rubric and cite your resources in text, if you have them. No exams just reading, videos to watch (very interesting) and the discussion posts. Very happy with the course.
Prof. Khosropour relies heavily on you reading the textbook and doing online quizzes for her to know that you're doing the work. She has three papers that are due online, but they are not incredibly difficult. The hardest part of the class is making sure to get things in on time, because the class (over the summer) is FAST. But completely doable!
