Class lectures are very fun. It hardly seems like you are in a class. Easy test. Assigned books are always under $20.00.

Shirlee likes for everyone to talk in discussions and to do well in the class. She never grades on attendance and if you score higher on the final (which takes about 20 min. to finish) than you do on the whole term, you get the higher grade.

This is one of the best teachers i've EVER had. She's a little wierd, but that makes it interesting. She is funny and makes things easy to understand. And its a VERY easy A. You can re-submit your work to get a higher grade, and very little homework.

I don't know think she tries to be patronizing, but she is. Also, she lets the class go off on incredible tangents. Other than that, she's interesting, I suppose.

I like her. class was fairly easy, no exams, just weekly essay questions that can be revised for better grade. she's go off during lectures, sometimes froths at the mouth. I dig it!

FABULOUS! if you ever have to take a philosophy class do so from this woman. she will make sense. she's a little off but it works on such a weird basic level.

Um, when i took philosophy of ethics from Shirlee, i only went to class for the first 3 weeks of the quarter. In those 3 weeks, i did all the work that i needed to get an A. I mean, you can't get any easier than that.

Shirlee is an outstanding instructor. She really knows a lot about philosophy, is very easy to talk to, and maintains a very respectful and participation-friendly class. Some people claim the class is easy, but it is as challenging as you make it and if you work hard you take a lot from the class.

I love her class. She is wonderful and understanding teacher. I enjoys every class I go. She gives you option to earn your own grade the more you do the more grade you have. Trust me take her class, you will like it.

Very much into helping you understand complicated materials, offers a wide array of learning styles to include everyone. Very patient in explanations and understanding to those of all intelligence levels. Overall she is very very smart but never comes across as arrogant. large amount of online material.

awsome teacher helpfull pick your own grade upon how much work you want to complete most work online no required text and i was able to be done three weeks befor term end with an a+ your grade with shirlee is up to you i highly recommmend her even if you dont think the subject intrests you it shure made me want to learn more about buisness ethics

Shirlee is the best ever. You get to choose what grade you want by how much work you want to do. You don't even have to do a final if you don't want to plus there are no papers to write! The material is pretty thought provoking but she puts into words you can understand.

Shirlee is informed and energetic about Business Ethics. Not only did she make the class enjoyable but she also discussed the subject in relation to her own experiences which I found very helpful to understand the correlation real world vs. academia. She certainly has been one of my finest professors! She surpassed my expectations

She's well organized and she loves her job, which makes her very good at it. I HIGHLY recommend her. (I like hard classes. Though her class was easy to do well in, it was still a good challenge!)

She is wonderful. She is so, so helpful, and it's hard to fail the class if you do the homeowkr and the project. Attendance isn't mandatory but I always went just because it was always a good discussion. She really engages you and makes you learn. Good use of tuitin money!

My tution money is well spent when I took her clases. She is very sweet. This is one teacher who will feel guilty for being late, sh really doesn't have to. She is awsome.

I enjoyed this class. Its incredibly easy, and Shirlee is an entertaining and passionate teacher. She gives options on how you want to earn your grade, and will spend the entire class spurring discussion. There is a strange lack of class activities, which can lead to feelings of anonymity, but this class is an easy A. Do it!

Shirlee is the best!!! Take any class that you can with her, she is filled with knowledge, extremely passionate, engaging, and shows a superb amount of respect for her students. You will learn a lot and you'll have a blast along the way.

Very easy class, but lacking structure. Topics are interesting, but she gets so caught up in the class' personal opinions that we never really learn much besides the fact that the person next to you isnt afraid of death.

Shirlee is great - I've taken a class with her twice already and will again next term. She allows you to choose what assignments you want to do for your grade. As long as you do some, you are almost assured an A.

What a surprise! Highly recommended, and she tries to make it a little easier by offering varying methods in which you may choose to comprehend the subject matter and get your grade. But philosophy can be very tough to grasp. Prepare yourself for office visits, she makes herself very available for you. Highly suggest doing the discussions option!

Shirlee Geiger is wonderful. A student at PSU recommended her to me and I'm very pleased with her teaching. Great topics for ethics. Great lectures and a very patient listener. This teacher is awesome.

Great instructor. Very supportive and gives good constructive criticism. I wouldn't hesitate to take her again if I wasn't leaving for another school. Required reading and homework were minimal, but I learned a ton from this class. Classes in critical thinking should be a college requirement. Highly recommend this instructor.

I must say, this instructor is an absolute blast. She makes her class so much fun. She lets you choose what you want to be graded on. If you want an easy A, then take her class.

Pretty good class...I'm not really one for discussions, but still enjoyed being in class sometimes. She lets you pick 3 of 5 categories in which you can be graded on (discussions, study questions, quizzes, midterm, final). She got a little behind on the grading toward the end of the term, which was annoying, but I got an A, so I'm happy.

Lovely teacher, i learned a lot about philosophy from her. Her set-up of the class grading was customizable in that you choose what to do in the class. She was amazing and clear about everything and won't give up on a concept until everyone understands. Very nice lady and I would definitely recommend her class.

I took 2 Phl classes with shirley. I would say sometimes I have a difficult time understand her lecture, but Shirley is a great teacher, she really care about students. I never see a teacher who so into her teaching. Her grading based on assignments(quizzes, midterm, discussion, finals, project,, essay)she let you picked the top 3. Extra credits.

PHL202 (Ethics) was a very easy class even if you have never taken a philosophy class! She talks in a way that is hard to understand, but she gives you the choice of taking weekly quiezes, weekly discussion posts, midterm, final, or short essays. You only have to choose three and the quizes, midterm, and final are easy and all on D2L.

Shirlee is truly an amazing teacher. She has a wonderful personality...she is hilarious and also extremely intelligent. She made complicated concepts easy to understand. I would 100% recommend her to anyone...and I will be taking more classes from her. LOVE her!

If you enjoy philosophy, you will enjoy this class. This was my second class with Shirlee. If you have a hard time with abstract thought, eh, go take math or something, let people who enjoy thinking about the nature of existence enjoy this class. My only gripe was the kid who refused to shut up and interrupted everyone. I think he was on speed.

While at PCC you MUST take a philosophy class with Shirlee Geiger! If you have a single elective slot taaake thiiis claaass! Shirlee is an incredible professor. She's the kind of professor who needs to be in every classroom. Shirlee is genuinely passionate about Philosophy and knowledge in general. Really easy teacher. All her discussions in class are fun and she does activites. She does a good job of controlling people that talk too much, which was nice. Easy grades as long as you do the work, which isn't too hard. Her quizzes are phrased confusing sometimes, but talk to her about it/ why she is willing to take into considerton. Easy A.

Shirlee really cares about her job as being and instructor and she makes philosophy fun. I have taken almost every philosophy class that she have ever taught while at pcc. I had a hard time understanding some of the concepts for the first time and she made some extra time for me to sit and talk with her during office hours. She is amazing!

Very funny and understanding. There to help you learn and understand and to target what you want out the class. Take it serious and learn, or miss out and the opportunity but either way you'll probably pass.

A passionate teacher who obviously loves the field she is in. Her lectures are informative and fun, though she can sometimes go off on a tangent. Test questions can sometimes be worded funny but she is committed to clarifying these things and being a better teacher. Was recommended by a friend with a master's in philosophy, would take her again.

There is a little heavy reading in this class, but she provides the essays you need to read on D2L. You will develop your critical thinking; coming to class is an absolute joy. She tells great stories to illustrate the concepts, which helps with the more complicated concepts. She also engages the class, and allows time for discussion. Great class!

Shirlee was a great Logic professor, and a really funny woman who made showing up every day despite totally non-mandatory attendance a treat. She was always ready to discuss, never turned away from an argument, and came every day even though she was battling heart problems.

Shirlee is a great teacher. She is hilarious, and makes the subject matter interesting by giving personal examples to help you understand the (sometimes difficult to grasp) concepts that she is teaching about. I also found her to be an extremely caring individual with a big heart.

Amazing Professor! Shirlee really cares about her students and wants to get you thinking! The grading is based on assignments you choose so its very easy. The lectures are easy to follow but not dull, and Shirlee is very passionate about philosophy. You will leave each class really thinking about reasonable things!

My favorite class ever to take at pcc by far. I have trouble learning but this is the one class that I feel like I truly learned so much and will actually remember it in life. She makes you feel included and like what you say always matters and is important, I always felt so comfortable in her classroom. I recommend it!!

Lecture style, but she encourages students to chime in and start discussions. She's kindhearted, establishes plenty of avenues to get a good grade, provides a good overview of all the important subject matter, and lets students explain test answers for full credit. Learned so much from this class. Clearly describes basic concepts and Shirlee will answer any questions directly. Never had a boring discussion (if youre interested in philosophy). Homework load was moderate, but manageable. Not an extensive amount of reading, but try to keep up. Extra credit activities are fun and great way to earn points.

Shirlee is one of my all time favorite teachers. Her lectures are really interesting and informative! There is a lot of homework but none of it is terribly taxing. I totally recommend her class.

Her class is so interesting and she wants discussion and input. It is very fun and I really like her as a teacher! I highly recommend. You get to choose what options you want to do for your grade and it makes it fun and adaptable to your style of learning.

I really loved this class. Be actively present in every zoom - Shirlee can be a bit scatterbrained when presenting material but enthusiastically clarifies and encourages discussion whenever confusion is brought up. She really cares about your learning style and independent thoughts. If you actually care and try you're guaranteed a good grade.
