She is a good teacher and if you want a good grade and put a little effort you can get a good grade
She is a very good instructor and her tests are fairly easy. I reccomend that you especially take her during the summer b/c she has a soft/easy voice and and thus easier to follow in a smaller classroom.
She is very boring. Her test get harder and harder. Dont take her.
She just rocks.
Took her for developmental over the summer--she's nice and tries hard and shows lots of films to supplement her lectures; the tests are very hard though, as they come from obscure facts in the book. She says that even SHE has trouble with the book!
Kind and helpful. Tests are difficult if you do not keep up with the readings. She GIVES you answers to practice exams before every test from which she puts 10 on her 50 question tests. 4 tests (4th is final, worth 150pts) X-tra cred: 32-38pts.
She's a really nice lady, easy to get a long with. Her tests are a little hard, but a little effort and extra credit will get you an A.
awesome professor. very helpful w/everything ive needed. class is great and she keeps it interesting. tests arent that hard if you attend class and take notes. a lil extra effort is required to get an A.
Human sexuality was interesting and fun. The first day of class we named all the slang terms we could think of. She's fun and very open-minded and treats everyone with respect. I emjoyed the class very much, which means the tests didn't seem as bad.
Great prof. If you keep up with reading the text you will do fine. She gives extra credit if you attend class and there are several other options for extra credit. Her lecture is kinda boring, but if you can just get through it, the tests are fine if you read.
Sweet voice and cheerful attitude. She offers plenty of extra credit. A few lectures in her class let you know what she is about. Her sex class is fun. You watch a **** in it at the end of the semester. Her devel is cool. Overall, she works with you. Many girls and boys fall under her lustful spell
Don't take this class if you want anything better than a D, possibly C. Everyone I have talked to did really bad or dropped it, and I got my first D ever in here even with a ton of extra credit. Really hard tests, alot of material, and no real reviews.
I don't know where all these good reviews came from. I studied hard and often, and got my first D in her class. She is not helpful, and her tests are not at all based off her lecture. Extra credit is the only reason I passed, barely. Stay far away, don't take her!!
I never went to class because I was lazy, yet still passed with a B because her notes are on blackboard. It's easy as hell if you have common sense and/or have already taken a Psychology class or two

I found her classes overall pretty easy and fun, well as fun as classes can be. She really enjoys teaching and it shows. She gives lots of extra credit too.
Very nice lady, lectures were manageable. The tests were harder than she made it seem they would be though. Extra Credit oppurtunities are available and she is willing to work with students on scheduling for tests, help etc.
very cheerful attitude and very open. The tests were kinds hard but there was lots of extra credit. I got a B but just barely.
She was great. You should realllly understand what the tests are going to be over before you start studying. I got a high C, but didn't study very much. She was such a cool teacher, though. I would definitely take her again.
This class ROCKS. I hardly studied for any of the tests and still made a B. (then agian I am going to school to become a sexual health councelor and couples therapist!) The lectures are crazy interesting, its hilarious the random things she will scream out in class, and the information she teaches is AMAZING. You will hate missing this class!
The class was very interesting. I learned a lot about sex and relationships. I personally think this class should be required because students think they know everything about sex. You'd be suprised.
She is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. Very helpful and her class was easy. Take her if you have the chance. I would take her again if I had the chance.
Awsome prof. Gives plenty of extra credit. Real nice lady and funny too. Very knowledgable in her field. Shes been teaching along time. Take her! Shes not hard at all but shes also not really easy:)
I hated going to this class..she is a really nice lady, but her tests were really hard. i tried to study - but nothing seemed to help.
Good teacher- makes the lectures fun and interesting. Study for exams and go to class and you'll do good.
Great teacher. NICE lady. Doesn't count off for absences, though you like her so much you feel bad skipping. Tests are not hard if you prepare short answer questions ahead of time and DO THE READINGS. But that's what college is about, right? She's very bright and does lots of research on gender.
Her developmental class is AWESOME. All the bad ratings are from people who don't know what college is about... you do have to study, but WAKE UP, it's college, not middle school. Her tests are easy if you listen in class and read the textbook. I got a 98 by only studying 20 minutes for her test. I would DEFINTELY take her again.
Very interesting woman, has many good stories to tell. Study what she tells you, read the text, and going to class will help you out in the long run. she offers extra credit. test are MC. I would take her if I were you!
very clear in requirements
Very good teacher! interesting, lots of stories and helpful videos. If you go to class and study you will do great! Very helpful and extremely nice!!
sounds like she google whatever she's going to teach just before class.
One of Txstate's best professors. She is fair, interesting, and very helpful. You must attend class in order to do well although it is not mandatory. I've taken every class she teaches and would recomend all of them. You will use your book, but she give the whole test away in her lectures, so be sure to take good notes to ensure an A.
Def did not enjoy this class. Tests are over a ton of material. I studied for hours and could only make Bs. She did offer quite a bit of extra credit, so only after 40pts of extra credit did I have an A. Not completely terrible, but not a fun class by any means.
One of my favorite teachers at TX State! Very interesting, extremely liberal. Her class is not easy, but you will be glad you are there! Read the textbook and do the review (and of course class notes) and you should get an A. I got a B because I never read the book. But, believe me, she is awsome! Especially her Pink Freud t-shirt!!!
this class was pretty hard. she gives no review what-so-ever and her tests are all over the place. you have to take "detailed class notes" in order to pass the tests. her openness is cool, but for the most part i was bored. she does offer lots of extra credit, do it, you'll need it. wouldn't take her again.
she is a sweet lady and class is fun and interesting but her tests are VERY hard theres a ton of material you need to study for one test she does offer a lot of extra credit but you still have to study forever to make a decent grade
Very nice!!
Lifespan- She is a pretty cool teacher, but the tests are kind of hard. She is a pushover though so if you need a good grade, don't be scared to go beg for it- she usually will give you whatever you want. Some of the study guide questions are word for word on the tests. Essays just need to get done, nothing serious.
She is the sweetest professor! I loved her class! In order to make an A in her Lifespan Development class you have to study a lot. You HAVE to read the text book, attend class, and take thorough notes. It is not the easiest class but if you study you can make an A. She explains thing clearly and she is very friendly and helpful. Love her!
I thought the class was easy. She gives a LOT of extra credit, which I took advantage of. Before the last test my average in the class was a 106%. She gives study guides which about 1/4 of the test is verbatim from the study guides. Attendance is extra credit. If you go to class and pay attention, you should do fine.
She's a super sweet lady but Lifespan is just so boring. The tests are super specific about info. Be sure to study the practice tests she posts because she puts a lot of those questions on the test word for word. She gives tons of extra credit, too.
She's nice and ancient. Her class is really hard, you have to pay attention and take really good notes. Her tests are hard, she does offer a lot of extra credit though. I wouldn't recommend taking her for development, the class is boring anyways and she makes it fifty times worse! But she's a nice lady.
Definitely a sweet lady but she made it sooo difficult to pay attention in her class (lifespan) which is already pretty tedious and uninteresting. The class definitely takes a lot of work to make an A, definitely do the extra credit.
Should read the book carefully and attend the lectures to make an A. I made extremely thorough study guides for myself and still struggled a bit on some of the material. She tests on names, years, percentages, numbers, all that fun stuff, so don't think it will be left out. Very interesting material and she creates a comfortable environment.
I would recommend taking her. She posts her power points online, gives you 10 questions and answer for each test before the test, gives alot of extra credit and is engaging in class. She offers for you to look at her book and see what she highlighted too. She makes getting an A an option for anyone willing to put in some effort.
Such a sweet lady! Very knowledgable & passionate. Her lecture voice can get a bit monotonous but the material is interesting enough to keep you engaged. She sends out review sheets before each exam along w/ a multiple choice review (some are word-for-word on the tests!) Extra credit opportunities on each test, including just for attendance. Also optional comprehensive exam. but GO TO CLASS. I missed about 6 lectures, but did the m/c & chapter reviews Hardly opened the book = A Take this prof!
Great prof! Lecture is a bit boring, but can be interesting at times. Really explains the material, helps emphasize points in the book- I recommend going to class. Reading the book is a must. Tests are difficult if you don't.
TAKE HER! She gives out a ton of extra credit for going to class, response papers, and in class surveys. She is super sweet and loves the subject. Her lectures do make you wanna fall asleep sometimes but for the most part they are interesting. She is super helpful around test time also. Easy A if you do the extra credit.
Ok this class is so helpful in everyday life I learned so much. Dr Ogleetree is an amazing teacher she's very funny too. She is extremely helpful and will work with students. If you dont get an A in her class then you should probably think about going to Trade School or something, because there should be no reason not to get an A.
Dr. Ogletree is great, she is the sweetest lady and she is VERY helpful. She gives a ton of extra credit points, her exams are not easy though. You do have to read each chapter and study her notes and study guides. I worked very hard to mantain a high score but her extra credit points gave me a 98! Take her!!
She is so awesome, my favorite prof. She relates to us and knows what goes on during our generation. Sweetest lady with the best intentions, study hard and you'll get an A. Extra credit points are very helpful in this course!
Took her for Psych of women and LOVED her. Her test are pretty difficult. Part MC part essay. A review with about 15 possible essay questions are posted on TRACS, she picks 5 for the exam. Essay ?'s are mostly from lecture, MC from text book. Gives a TON of extra credit. Taking her again for Human Sexuality4337
Dr. Ogletree is awesome!!!! She is so nice and organized, and the material I learned was somewhat new to me. I definitely learned some new things though. A few chapters are a little boring but she goes through with it and makes it interesting. The tests are easy if you study your notes and read the chapters in the book. There is no reason to fail.
Her class is well organized and she outlines exactly what she expects from her students. She allows a 3x5 note card on exams.
She makes her points clear. She gives a good amount of extra credit. Very sweet lady.
Take any and every class you can with her. She is incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. She is also extremely helpful for those interested in research and grad schools. She is so helpful and caring. She truly wants her students to succeed and find a passion. My success at the school has been largely in part to her guidance.
Really is a very nice teacher and is very fair. Gives out a LOT of extra credit, but you really have to work hard to get the grade you want in her class. When review sheets are completed, they number in the double digits on pages and there are up to 90 terms to know for tests. Very challenging class, only take it if you are serious.
Such a sweet lady! A lot of extra cedit so make sure you take her! Class may seem boring but she definatly will say some pretty crazy things and she will make you laugh. She is laid back and will help you if you need help!! TAKE HER!!!!!
This class kicked my butt when she says you need to read the book you HAVE to. Her lectures are good if you don't read then pay very close attention to lectures. The test reviews are long and hard to complete the tests are hard but she give a lot of EC. Come to class because that also counts toward EC and she gives you 10 free test questions
She had REALLY boring lectures. No one ever listened and left classskipped all the time. I pretty much taught myself the material.
Great teacher and great class material!
I love Ogletree. She is the sweetest lady and tries so hard to make class interesting. Her class is an easy A if you read and study power points. She also gives out a crazy amount of extra credit that can give you like 6+ points per test. She gives out a review and 10 of the questions are on the test word for word. One of my favorite classesprofs!
Took her for Human Sexuality and Lifespan Development and LOVED her. Her lectures are clear and there are no surprises on the tests (unless you skipped a lot). She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities, so take them! She's willing to help if you ask for it, especially if you got a bad grade on a test. Take her! She teaches a lot of classes.
I've taken 2 of her classes now. She is such a cute old lady, and her stories are hilarious. The lectures can get a bit boring at times, but the class is SO EASY. She gives SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT. I made over a 100 both times I took her. Show up to class, and you are golden. I would definitely recommend her, especially if you want an easy A.
Dr. Ogletree is so sweet and makes sure classes are well prepared, however her lectures are slow and long, her voice is quiet and will put you to sleep. i like her as a person, but not sure if i would take her again just because i can not pay attention
She is a terrific professor. She is passionate about psychology and it shows. I had to take this course as just something extra and I didn't mind. She isn't hard. Lectures are comparable with the book. She is funny and very easy to understand. Lots of extra credit is provided and she encourages you to share your thoughts and opinions. She was great
Her test are really tough , she focuses more on details rather than concepts. You really have to study and take detailed notes.
She gives TONS of extra credit. Tests are pretty challenging though. They require you to really understand the material. She explains things very well though. Should get an A with all the extra credit.
at first I found the class to be very difficult, especially after the first test. I talked to her about it and she was very willing to help me. you must read and listen to lectures. Test are multiple choice, and have questions from the quizzes online. she is very helpful and passionate about what she teaches. It is possible to finish with an A or B
If your read the assigned readings and take good class notes you should be able to get an A. The exams are easy and 10 of the questions comes from her study guide. Also, she gives a lot of extra credit and encourages you to participate in class.
Dr. Ogletree is patient, funny, knowledgeable, and loves to teach. Her tests are hard but the review she makes is plenty to prep. Take attendance
A very nice teacher who is very personable. The Textbook was very helpful in preparing for the Mid-Term and Final Exam.
Dr. Ogletree is amazing and is completely interested in what she teaches; I highly recommend taking her. There are only two required papers and there's many options for extra credit.
Just be sure and read the chapters, made D's on two tests, a B, and a C on the final and still made it out with a high B because of A LOT of extra credit opportunities, which were extremely easy. Studying with her study guides is key
She is wonderful and, in my class, you could earn 10 points on your final grade through extra credit opportunities. 10 whole points! Easy class, but still really informative.
Shirley is a very strange, but kind-hearted lady. She makes an effort to relate the material to life and college students. Her exams always cover SO much material so if you don't use her reviews and try to cram, you can forget about making an A. I read the book and simply used her review and made a 98 on the first exam. LOTS of extra credit.
Dr. Ogletree is a very sweet and caring lady. She genuinely cares about how her students do in her class. However, most of the tests she gives do not correlate to the lecture. There is a lot of information on the tests that was never covered in lecture. I had to read the textbook for each test to make an A.
Super sweet lady made human sexuality very interesting, favorite class I've ever taken.
Went to almost every class and studied and still had trouble on the tests. They are VERY detailed specific. She was not very helpful or clear and is very forgetful. Gets off topic easily and was boring. Do not recommend.
At the beginning of the semester I started out by doing the test reviews as my way of studying and then realized that studying my class notes was SO much better. I recommend not doing the study guides and instead studying your notes/powerpoints. Overall, I LOVED the class and loved Ogletree! she made it so interesting. I would recommend her!!
She's sweet but lectures are a pain. I suggest showing up for attendance and reading the textbook. She is always off topic and ppts aren't as helpful as she believes. Attendance is extra credit! Do all of the offered extras.
Professor Ogletree is one of the best professors i have had at State. She is extremely knowledgeable and clear about what to expect. 3 exams, 1 final and one optional exam. 1 easy online assignment due each weak. Attendance is not mandatory but highly encourage since it is extra credit, gives tons of extra credit opportunities. Fun class, take her!
She is a sweet professor and is funny ,but her test .... her test are so difficult ! I study really hard on her test , took detail notes word from word but her test would be so different and extremely hard .The Final is comprehensive which is even more stressful .Not even my required classes are this hard ... save your GPA ! Don't take her .
I took Professor Ogletree for Human Sexuality and I did not find this class very difficult. Her exams are tricky, but you should be fine if you read and rewrite the powerpoints and redo the connect assignments for practice. She offered 28 points of extra credit (attendance and short essays) this semester which helped a lot. Good teacher!
PROS; LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT Cons; Lecture heavy & super duper hard tests Tips; SIT IN THE FRONT BECAUSE ITS ASSIGNED SEATING, take pictures of the practice tests during lecture (she lets you) those are on the tests and DO THE PRACTICE test because those are also on test. Study AHEAD. Also the study guide isn't really helpful so don't waste your time
The tests are each 50 questions being 10 from tracs, 10 from the textbook, and 30 from the lecture. She is a great teacher. Really sweet little lady. Interesting lectures, you can tell she loves her job. There are weekly quizzes online. Attendance was graded and used as extra credit. There are writing responses for extra credit as well. Great class
Her class is lecture heavy and her exams do make up most of the grade; however, she offers SO much extra credit. You can get extra points for attending class and for writing short papers. She even offers 10 extra points for writing an essay. The homework is easy as well. If you put in effort and take VERY detailed notes, you should do well!
Dr. O is such a sweet lady and her class is very easy to do well in. Her class tends to drag on but she offers SO much extra credit and her tests are easy enough. Show up because she gives points for attendance and tons of points for small essays that you can submit. Her homework is online and she is super laid back for what she wants.
I took Professor O for PSY3300 and loved it. She is a super sweet lady and really makes sure her students succeed. There are tons of super easy extra credit opportunities in the form of 250 word "essays" and quick online homework that makes sure you get a 100 each time. I went to class, put in the work and got what I would consider an easy A.
Ogletree is awesome. Tons of extra credit opportunities and extra credit for attendance. Curves EVERY exam. Lectures involve lots of class discussion. She is so sweet and tries to remember names when possible. You will have to read the textbook. Only grades are 3 exams, final, and easy online quizzes through mindtap (answers on Quizlet)
she gives curves in the tests, but her tests are tricky. She gives a lot of extra credit. Make sure to read the book it helps more than her power points.
She truly is an amazing woman. With her personal experiences tied into the class, it really shows how passionate she is about Lifespan and Development. She offers large quantities of extra credit that I highly recommend you doing because her tests are rather difficult. Quizlets offer good study material for the exams. Take the optional exam!!!
She's an awesome professor, very open minded, and really knows her stuff Attendance isn't mandatory, but recommended. She gives extra credit if you miss 3 classes or less and offers plenty of other opportunities to get extra points throughout the semester. There isn't any homework, but there are 4 tests that she gives study guides with the answers
I absolutely loved her. Very dry sense of humors that is evident in her lectures. This is a difficult class, it's junior level but I took it as a freshman and I did fine. You get what you are willing to put into this class. Tests contain lecture stuff as well as textbook.
Great professor, one of my favorites. She is very sweet and knowledgeable. Those who complained in her class weren't really paying attention. Take notes over lecture, read your book you will be fine. Study for exams. She's really the best.
Professor Ogletree is a knowledgeable teacher, although I would classify myself under the category of those who did not fancy her teaching style. Her classes are lecture heavy and there is a lot of information to retain, especially biological information. I wouldn't take her again.
I love her! She is a sweet lady and is very knowledgeable about this class. She gives TONS of extra credit and her tests are not hard at all if you just study even a little bit. Attendance is not mandatory, but she gives extra credit for it and the lectures are interesting as well. This was an easy A for me. I would recommend for an easy elective
Way too hard of a class. She makes her exams specifically to fool you. Prepare to do lots of studying outside of her class because her test questions have NOTHING to do with the incredibly dry lectures. Beware.
I took her for my lifespan development lass bess because I took her for my human sexuality class and it was fairly simple. I don't know if she decided to switch it up this semester or what but her lectures are extremely long and the tests look like none of the material. It is all very confusing. The review that she sends out is damn near 25 pages
She is nice and has alot of extra credit. But her exams are unnecessarily hard because her study guides have far too much information to study. Make sure you understand her material in class, or you will use up 3-5 days just to complete her study guide. Definitely will not pass her class higher than a "D" studying a night or two before the exams.
She was an absolute nightmare. Dont fall for the fake positive reviews because this class took everything out of me and I still struggled significantly. This was the hardest psychology class I have ever taken at txstate AND IM A PSYCH MAJOR WHO IS ABOUT TO GRADUATE
Her class isn't easy, but she does give a lot of extra credit. If you don't go to class you will struggle because she gives majority of the notes in lecture. Her review guides are not worth doing because they are far too long to complete. Take good class notes and pay attention in class and you will pass.
I took Professor Ogletree my first semester at txst and I loved her (i took human sexuality). Shes got great insight on the subjects you go over & is always throwing extra credit opportunities your way. I do recommend taking good notes in her class because sometimes the specific examples she gives are on the test. Shes so awesome, 10/10 recommend
FAVORITE TEACHER! Such a sweet lady. Attendance isn't mandatory but you get extra credit. Also optional extra credit papers throughout the semester. 4 tests and a final. Study guides are long, yeah, but are super necessary to study if you want to pass!! Take good notes and try to attend as many classes as you can and youll be fine
Sweet lady, has a very relaxing voice, and knows her stuff. Gives extra credit but makes reviews for 50 question tests 10 pages long. Tells you you'll do good if you take GOOD DETAILED notes, meaning you have to remember every word she says. Makes the course way harder than it needs to be.
I was bored the entire time. And if you dont read the textbook, you wont do well on the tests. Detailed class notes wont help you.
The class is "based off" of her in class speakings, but also consists of questions from slides and questions from online quizzes. Reading the book and taking word for word notes on what she says doesn't really help. There are assigned seats which count towards your attendance.
The amount of extra credit given is insane. I would recommend taking her for Lifespan Development. Although her lectures can be boring, the attendance counts for extra credit and you can easily get an A in this class if you go to class because some of her test questions come from lecture. 10 of the questions come directly from TRACS MC questions.
This class is not hard! To to her lectures they are extra credit and a large portion of what she talks about are on the exams if you pay attention. I read the textbook to help me fill out her reviews and made over a hundred on every exam. Her review seems complicated but her exams are easy. She also curves every exam and gives endless extra credit
DO NOT TAKE. PSY is my minor and I failed this class with it being my only class left before graduation. The material she pulls for test questions are so detail it's ridiculous. She gives out lecture notes but don't bother wasting paper to print them out, they're garbage.
I took human sexuality with her, and although she is not a bad professor, people still dont do well in the class. All the material also seems really easy but the median grade for each test was around 75%. I have no idea why she made the tests so difficult (even though they dont really seem difficult until you get your grade back).
Prof Ogletree is alright. If you show up to class you get extra points on the test but lecture was usually dull. I'd usually just work on another assignments during class. She's very sweet, but I felt like there was a lot of details to study just for test questions to be simple. She offers a lot of extra credit and appreciates when people speak up.
Shes so adorable. The topic is interesting, but her voice is very quiet so I recommend sitting near the front.
