On the other hand, the harshness of the tests were offset by a generous curve, and the inter-departmental final destroyed the other classes but we were fine.

Prof. Cai is a very funny and nice man however I have had my fair share of issues with how he teaches. This class is based solely upon lectures which I found to be unhelpful and ended up having to teach myself all of the material. Additionally, he made me feel quite embarrassed when I asked questions instead of showing me where I went wrong.

NO QUIZ, it's not a good thing, you will learn nothing. He want you to learn by yourself and didn't provide any practice except two paper questions for whole semester. I look at the above are all good reviews, but this teacher really let me down...take with other professor, you will thank me

calculus 2 is not easy, but he taught it well enough to make it much more tolerable than it should be. However, the class kinda fell apart after towards the end, the final stretch was more than enough to break people left and right...

He's super nice. However, it would be best if you wrote down every example because they will be in your exam.

He always came so late to class. He does not teach very well at all. He uses his textbook and copies it on the board. Half of the time it seems like he does not understand what he is doing.

Professor didn't time things right so we moved through content pretty slowly. We didn't have our second exam until a week or so before the final and he had to cram content in during our last class meeting (Tuesday, 12/12). Because of this, we might not perform as well on the final and we'll have to resort to teaching ourselves the material.

He doesn't explain the materials properly. He only write on the board, and skips multiple steps when he goes over a math problem. No quiz, no review, 2 midterms, and one final. He scales the grade.

Professor was late to every class (5, 10, sometimes 30+ minutes), yes every class. Goes through steps really quickly without explaining where anything comes from. 2 tests worth 25%, Homework worth 15%, Final exam worth 35%. If you can self-teach you're in great shape. He is ALWAYS behind every class as others have told me. Also writes hella tiny.

This man is a gem! He keeps his lectures light-hearted and keeps his students engaged by asking class questions. He always encourages questions, making sure no student is left behind. Make sure you study the practice problems he gives before the exams. You'll do well on the exams if you can do the practice problems.

Great professor, he is a really funny guy and knowledgeable on the topics. You get graded on homework, 1 midterm and 1 final. While that is a little intimidating he has a nice grading curve which saves you. Make sure you understand the review problems before tests then you're fine. Only real complaint is his lack of response to emails.

Took Calc 2 in the summer so it was accelerated. A ton of material fast paced was miserable for Calc 2 but this professor is a super fair grader, funny, and knows the material. He did fly through some things but that is expected with the course in the summer. Overall not a bad experience for a hard subject. Practice and practice you'll be fine.

Professor Cai made a 4-hour long Calc2 summer class not feel like my brain was melting out of my head. He explains the material clearly and will take questions to make sure everyone is on the same page. He makes jokes during his explanations which really helped me stay present in the lecture. His grading was largely based on tests and is forgiving.

Make sure you're keeping up with what he writes in class,he moves fast and assumes you understand unless you speak up. Don't hesitate to raise your hand; when you do ask questions, gives very detailed explanations and helps you understand how and why you get the answer. The textbook is essential for extra practice. 10/10 professor.

Attendance isn't mandatory but good luck passing if you don't attend class. Professor really wants students to understand the material and will try his best to keep explaining until you understand. Although he tries, be prepared to teach yourself the material. Professor ending up scaling all the tests.

this guy is amazing. completely changed my perspective on mathematics. lectures can be boring but this guy is hilarious so his lectures are actually pretty fun. always looked forward to class. DO NOT SKIP or you won't pass. always stayed after to talk to students 1 on 1 which was nice. 10/10 would take him again. emphasis on the DO NOT SKIP CLASS!

Teaches straight from the textbook. Class was very behind. We had our second test a week before the final. Within that week, he tried to cram teaching us a whole new unit. Had to rely on YouTube and tutoring, and even that wasn't enough. Gives you no graded assignments to redeem your grade. Tests have less than 10 questions.
