I was a little bit interested in chemistry but her professionalism turned me off. She is critical and demeaning. By all means neccesary do not take her...RUN as fast as you can... Look!!!!DANGER..YOU WILL CERTAINLY FAIL. (CENTRAL CAMPUS)
Do not take this lady you can't understand her and she has very little patience. If she is the only person teaching this class and you need it. Choose a new career path!!
Be patient, and always do the recommended readings. Her practise tests (and answers) are basically giveaways and contain all the answers to the tests. If you actually read the book and try to do the work, her classes are very easy to do well in. Chemistry is a hard class, don't expect to do nothing and get an A.

Very light voice and her english is hard to understand. She makes chemistry harder than it really is if your clueless going in. Other than that, her test parallel her study guides.
She isn't a good teacher, but a really nice lady. You have to study on ur own in order to get an A. Don't expect an easy A with her, there is no extra credit at all. Chem is not easy any way! I finished this class with an A and was confident to take organic chem.
Personally, very nice, but extremely difficult to understand. She's willing to explain things if you ask, but then you still don't quite get it. Very frustrating! Be prepared to self-teach or get a tutor if you're not sharp in chemistry.
I suggest that you never take her class. She seems to be not let student have good grade. She makes chemistry more difficult. Many students dropped her class for it. Again, never and never take her class.
Don't be discourage by the negative comments. Dr. Batamo provides handouts that condensed everything you need to know for the subject. Her tests are mirrors of what you practice in class and in your quizzes. Most importantly, she cares about her students' successes. I find my self truly lucky to have her as my instructor!
HORRIBLE teacher. Has absolutely no business being a teacher. She could care less about teaching or helping out students. Be prepared to spend extra money for a tutor. DO NOT take her it will be a waste b/c you'll end up having to drop. The worst prof I've ever had if you can call her a prof
DO NOT take this professor!!! i repeat, DO NOT take this professor. she is so boring, and she doesnt seem to want her student to get high grades. there are no considerations in her class. i'm not too harsh when it terms to professors, but this one is just incomprehensible.
The negative comments are not accurate. This is a difficult subject that is math heavy so poor students be warned. The book is not that helpful but her handouts are. Pay attention when she goes over the handouts in class it is vital if you want to pass. She offers a form of extra credit, show up to lab and you pass that section.
Dr Batamo the easiest professor I've ever met. Focusing on her handouts and u can easily have an A.
She is a very good teacher, but not the one you can expect an easy A. However, you can learn a lot from her and earn the grade you deserved.

I dropped her class because it was really difficult to understand her sometimes. If you follow the syllabus and do your homework you will do just fine.
Her class is sleepy because of her soft voice. You can pass with A if you understand her practice test. Lab and lecture don't required homework.
take her class.. we have 3 test, also the review before them, just practice the review you will get 90 and more... final has a little difficult... but dont worry you will pass.. and one thing, make sure she knows who you are, you do your own work and u pass... ^^

how much effort you put into this class is definetly what you will get. she lectures straight from the textbook and her tests all come from the practice test she gives out. if you study the practice test & the hw you'll do well.
never ever take her class. She is awful teacher. If you want to decrease your GPA, you can take her class
Her class shuld be easy as she tells you what types of questions will be on her tests. I enjoy the most are the not-in-textbook materials that related to health, environment, and pros-and-cons of sweeteners. If I don't have to work two jobs, I would be able to get an A.
I dont understand a word she is saying. I just go so I wont be count absent. all I do is study the practice exams and I am good. Of course I went to tutoring to get help with the practice exam. I have to admit with out tutoring I would have never been able to go on to the next chem.
I think she is a hard teacher.I already do my best, however still got a C in the class. I do not understand what she is talking about. She also does not give us an extra credit. That's awful!!
to be honest in oder to tak her class you have to get an idea in chemistry, i mean a nice background in the subject. she so strict, so hard,..good luck
She was often late to the class. She obviously does not care If you understand or not. The hardest part was to comprehend her English. If you care about your GPA, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
She is beyond useless. I aced her class, but only because I taught myself based on her practice tests and the examples in the book. The test is 80% math, yet she never touches it in class or the lab. Unless you can motivate yourself to study on your own time, do not bother with her. She strays from topic, speaks in a whisper,and with an accent.
She is very good in Environment. i like her, there is not any textbook, just some thing to read on learning web and nothing else. she is very good. i LIKE her. you will have a good time in her class by watching lots of film about environment.
Her test are based on the book and she has reviews you use. She does not lecture but will help you if you ask her. I had her on Friday Second Start. Sometimes things can be confusing. I liked the class overall.
Great teach. I concur it was a bit difficult to understand her due to her accent and quiet voice but her exams were easy as pie. She gets them straight from her reviews (which she goes thru wit u)with a few minor changes so you know exactly what's on the test. Super helpful so you can review in the txtbook what you dont understand.
Very nice person, very difficult to understand. KNOW the practice exams, they are exactly like the tests, which are open book! She is pretty much no help teaching wise...Be prepared to self teach. Lab grades are based on attendance.
trust me people she is not good. i am good in math i had good and worst teachers she is the worst exams are ok as long as you teach yourself. the subject is not difficult yet she make it hard you dont understand a thing of what she say her accent is bad. stay away there are better teacher out there.
It was really difficult. Do not take her if u aren't good in chemistry. She has a very quiet voice, and hand writing on the board was really small. There's no hw, only quizzes(wish are easy), and sectional test or exams VERY VERY HARD. The review sheet gives u an idea, but many people still did bad. Including me:(

She is a very nice person and will help you with regard to chemistry. However, she does not teach you the algebra skill you will need to complete the course. you will have to have those skills. The tests are hard. BUT JUST STUDY THE TOPICS IN THE REVIEW AND KNOW THEM WELL. NOT AN EASY A. Participate in lab! SHE IS TENURED.

Professor Batamo is does indeed have a accent and is quiet so sit up front and pay close attention. Do the reviews she has, the test is very similar to the review with things changed; it will also give you and idea of what to study. Pay attention don't be those people playing on their phones and sleeping then wonder why they did bad.

She's a really sweet lady but I didn't agree with her teaching style so I rarely paid attention to her. It was a super easy A because her tests are almost exactly like the practice reviews she posts online.
Prof. Batamo is a very sweet lady but teaching style is hard to keep up with. Reading the book can work but will be very difficult to understand. She doesn't teach from the book. Jumps around frequently. You will need to apply yourself doing entire semester. Good luck!
For me, it felt like she never made anything as clear as possible. She doesn't really start at the very top and work down, expanding the topic from simple to the more complex. But, instead, feels like she gives bits of it here and there throughout the lecture, so you're going to have to apply yourself hardcore to understand something. Watched utube
She has an accent which makes it very difficult to understand, and can sometimes not explain the topic clearly, she post link to videos which are helpful to learn the topic. She does not give homework but you do need to really study to pass this course, b/c you will be pretty much teaching yourself. There are 4 test, final, labs, and extra credit.
I know people complain about her accent, but it didn't bother me much. She is very clear about what to study and what you will be graded on. Do the homework and review the slides and you will be fine.
I'm starting to realize that my studying level sucks when it comes to a professor who doesn't know how to teach and goes off by PowerPoint. She complains a little bit when you ask her about a question and she grades heavily for no reason. Her tests were even hard, even though she says it's like her review. Don't take her.
she sucks at explaining and she literally just reads the information off the slides.... can you imgaine sitting in a class for 3 hours listening to a professor just reading off a slide with no enthusiasm?? Just dont do it to yourself people...
Being a professor should consist more of then reading some slides for 3hrs the whole class. Find another professor because she is not a professor she just reads.
First of all its a chemistry class, you have to study. She explains concepts well and gives examples in her lectures. It's not an easy class but she tries to make it easier if you just try. Also clear grading criteria she explains how she wants the labs done, and doesn't mind answering questions about them. The reviews help a lot with her test.
Sweet lady, but I wouldn't recommend this class. This was the first class in my life where I've received a D. It sounds harsh, but I'm being honest in saying that this class ruined my semester because I lost almost all motivation. (And I worked my butt off). 2 yrs later, & I'm still recovering my degree plan. If you love science, maybe you'll enjoy

It's a Chemistry class.. it's going to be hard. As for the professor she teaches very well and give examples, she also gives practice problems but those are not for a grade. The class is only passed on 4 tests, which are identical to the review found on her learning web page.
Best prof ever. i have learned alot from taking her in both chem 1 and chem 2. Chemistry is already difficult but she explains the material and stays behind to answer any questions from students. Do the reviews and you will fine.
Although I still don't understand chem- her tests are pretty much her reviews. So study that for an easy A. She stays back to answer questions and is pretty chill about phones and leaving early/ coming late. I would take her again if I had to, because her teaching style is pretty laid back and helpful (lots of extra credit and leniency).
Absolutely the worse professor I have ever taken, she left in the middle of the semester for 2 months and only came back to give us exams, her reviews were of little help and her lecture are of little use as well due to her poor presentation skills. Her PowerPoint slides are disorganized and not useful at all. Dont take this class at all cost!
The exams are really easy, just study from the slides and you good.
very unorganized. has no idea how to help students when asked for help, always more clueless than the students. anytime you send them a message with a question they get ultra defensive and reply in snarky/petty fashion. intolerable & atrocious professor. spare yourself the trouble... find another professor
Batomo doesn't actually teach the course. Her name is just what gets put on your syllabus. She just has you sign up for two websites and do their material. If I could do it again, I'd pick someone else as a proffesor.
I take an summer online lab class, there are 10 lab reports, all of them are in HOL. We don't have online meeting, this professor doesn't really teach, you read the instructions in HOL and do the experiments by yourself. We have a SI leader, thanks to her help. Anyway, tough course, luckily I get an A.
I personally never had any problems with her but it is a hard class. You have to teach yourself I never understood what she was saying. Luckily I worked hard and passed so be ready to do work. She does give out ALOT of extra credit so take advantage of that
I don't know how I passed this class; but luckily, I understood the course criteria and had to teach myself.
She gives you homework almost every week, and the exams are the exact questions that came in the homework. I passed this class without even studying for it. dropped two lowest grades as well. The only thing is I knew everything in the textbook already. If you don't know, you can learn from the homework questions.
Ms. Batamo does not allow students to ask questions until the end of class. Ms. Batamo's syllabus and course materials were very misleading. Throughout the semester, expect to spend about 30-40 dollars on lab materials. There were some assignments in the lab that my chemistry lecture instructor did not teach. I struggled a lot. BEWARE!
The homework assignments are the same as the test itself it's just that she may tweaked the numbers or the wordings. If you study for it then you can pass that's all I'll say. Her lectures were quite long since it's an online night class but she has the passion to teach. There are also extra credits so make good use of them. Great professor!
If this lady's class is the only class available and you need to take the class, don't take it, wait till next semester. The class itself is structured in an easy way. Pre, post, and reports are due every week, and, no exams, the lectures are online. The real problem is her grading, she grades without a heart, Please stay away from her class.

I was here before, last thing I want to say is that I usually reside with professors and give them the benefit of the doubt ALL THE TIME. My breaking point with her was that we started ARGUING about submitting a SURVEY and more of the fact of giving me a 0 and making it seem as if I was incapable of following instructions with so much disrespect.
She gives 0 like crazy ,her labs say "draw or take pictures"I drew the pictures instead of taking photos and she gave me a zero because I did not take pictures, she takes points off for writing CO2 INSTEAD of Co2, O and o gives the same answer! She is very though at grading, do not take her even if she is the only person left.
One thing Dr. Batamo has is EMPATHY which many professors lack. She gives you all the things you need to pass her tests. She makes the tests just like the homework so if you do the homework you will do well on the test. Her lectures are a bit hard to follow but if you go to SI and her office hours she will break everything down. I liked her.
The lectures can be hard to follow at times. But the quizzes allow you to learn since she lets you retake them and keeps the highest grades. The test strongly resemble the quizzes if you do the quizzes and retake them for good grades you should do good on test and end with a good grade. Drops lowest test grade as well.
this is the absolute worst teacher I have ever had, she is always so rude when students ask questions, recently there was a kid who was 17 minutes late and then he was getting dropped.The teacher was verbally shouting and raising her voice when confronted and when other students ask questions she always argue.Please DO NOT TAKE HER.Worst prof ever
Confusing lectures, does not explain things will and her accent can be hard to understand at times. Exams are copy and pasted from chapter quizzes, and the quizzes have unlimited attempts. That is the reason I passed, she knows she isn't the best at teaching, in all modules she links you tube videos for extra help.
Shes SOOOO BAD, the worst teacher i have had in my entire life. I took her for Online on Schedule, and by the time we had the final, she didnt answer and all the group had technical issues and she DID NOT answer until the next day, so in the final we only got 1 hour to do it. SO BAD PLEASE DONT TAKE HER, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT TAKE HER
GREAT TEACHER! I was scared at first because of reviews i seen but only way to fail is if you dont try,shes very understanding and doesn't mind questions. Accent might be a bit hard to understand a few things but still manageable , would take her again
I taught myself everything. My 5 week course got cut short to 4 weeks and it was so much faster paced than I anticipated. I could not sit through 3 hour lectures with a topic I barely understood. There are resources to help you succeed and you have to utilize them because just listening to lecture doesn't cut it.

Extremely unprofessional. They did not answer any prior emails except when I asked them to place me back into the class they dropped me from in which they said No. I missed one class meeting and got dropped even though I paid already.

This woman is extremely rude & her English is impossible to understand. Her lectures are so incoherent that I don't bother listening. I am teaching myself from the textbook. I asked her if I could use a printout of the periodic table I had & she wrote back a paragraph threatening to give me a 0 for using it. This has/will be our only conversation.
Someone who is extremely rude and discriminatory towards students with disabilities. Reported her to the department chair at the end of the semester. Such a nasty spirited woman. Very hard to find professors who actually care.
God damn man, this teacher was unbelievably boring. Read of WORD DOCUMENTS and slides. Absolutely useless. Multiple Technology failures. Unbelievable how this is even a choice for professors. Took the gamble with the TBA Prof, safe to say, I lost. Please listen to me, do NOT take this professor.
She gets a lot of hate but honestly its a decent class. It is difficult to understand her accent but she provides countless videos for people to study with. Lectures are boring but you don't have to listen, you can watch the videos instead. If you have questions, she'll answer at the end. She cares about her students succeeding.
