Professor Lu is precise with his expectations of the course, read the syllabus, BB announcements, and his weekly emails to stay up to date. He does provide you with the textbook so no need to purchase it. His directions are clear and assignments are organized and simple to complete. The course is online so read the PowerPoints and textbook!

I liked how direct and clear the syllabus for the class was. Throughout the term, you have three major presentations. Do them along with the discussion board posts every week, you will pass. The syllabus is flexible & the prof is open to questions. He answers his emails quickly. The work is manageable but can be stressful. Take at your own pace!

I enjoyed taking this class with this professor. His syllabus and instructions for every assignment are clear. Assignments are a lot but are manageable to do over the term. And other than the weekly db posts, there is 1 major presentation assignment, and 2 exams. I recommend taking this class if you like to know more about the various cultures.

Gives out too many homework FOR AN ELECTIVE CLASS. Every week a discussion board, have to respond to two other students and a project where you have to respond to EVERY STUDENT.

Do NOT take his courses if u want to ruin ur gpa. Doesn't care about u and will grade so precisely to the instructions, u will never be able to sweet talk him into taking it easy on u. He will not care about any excuse and is extremely passive aggressive and dismissive when students legitimately have questions or concerns. My gpa is destroyed now!

Take him even though he gives a lot of homework and assignment but the midterm and final are easy. Easy grader.

Do not take this professor! I looked up the reviews, but still took his class because I was sure I would be fine, but was dead wrong. All of his assignments are SUPER specific and he will refuse to even look at them if one thing is out of place. He doesn't provide much useful feedback in order to help you as well. Would drop the class if I could!!!

I attend his summer course CASD2623, and he arranged all the homework requirements clearly on the blackboard, as long as you write according to the format of the example assignment, you will be fine. There are no exams, no group work, only blackboard discussions, an interview assignment, and a video-recorded presentation. Do as he required, easy A.

This class was a lot of busy work, its manageable to do but it just takes a lot of time out of your week to complete the assignments. The only thing I would say is that the professor responds to emails quickly but I wouldn't recommend taking it if you have the choice.

This class was pretty decent but be prepared for Professor Lu's workload every week on BB which I felt wasn't necessary. Yet, his presentations did sum up the whole lesson/lecture. However, on the other hand, his midterms/finals were easy which are just papers that I thought were fine. Overall, this class is an easy A+ if you do the work!

I Withdrew due to anxiety from no feedback & uncertainty about grades. The Professor graded at semester end. It's Heavily focused on personal culture writing, chapter analysis, and DB responses . The assignments have a large word count & no-late policy. I don't recommend it if uninterested in your own culture rely on feedback or dislike writing.

not that much throughout the week, but major assignments were pretty major. the midterm and final were like 2 or 3 qs each but with multiple parts. u really need to write to adequately answer the question. iirc he asked for a 6 pg minimum for the midterm. video final proj. the posting schedule was a bit confusing but u figure it out
