He is a very understanding and funny teacher. He makes Anatomy and physiology fun to learn by using humor and examples we can all relate to. He is easy to talk to if you have a problem understanding something. I reccomend,helpful class and teacher :)

His lectures were amazing and tests were straight forward from the essay questions, but the multiple choice is hard. There is alot of material. He said he will curve, but he didnt in the end which screwed up everyone. I studied hard and even got Bs on some exams. Ended up with a C.

Shyam is super cool, obviously enjoys teaching, and is funny! You have to understand that Anatomy and Physiology itself is very hard, so you obviously have to study hard. But Shyam goes out of his way to help you understand the material.

I think a lot of people underestimate Ohlone's classes. Anatomy is probably one of the hardest classes in the school, and thankfully it is because the last thing you want are individuals who don't know their stuff going into the health care field. Professor Sunder is awesome! He really wants you to succeed and learn in his class and will help you as much as he can as long as you ask and put effort into it. Speaking from experience biology does not come very easy to me and as long as you put in the work and he sees that, you should have no problem passing the class.

The class is incredibly tough, easily one of the toughest at Ohlone. But he gives you literally every resource he has to help you understand the material. If you are willing to really work hard and not fall behind, you will pass. His lectures are very clear and he is good at explaining concepts in multiple ways.

First I'd like to say that I dropped the class however I would highly recommend this teacher. Bio103A is hard in general if you take it at ohlone, if you want an easy class don't take it here. I really recommend getting your act together even before the semester starts. P.S. practical 2 is very hard so study the muscles of the body ahead of time.

This is a hard class and Dr S is very friendly and approachable; he gives you all the resources he can to help you. Very knowledgeable but needs to master some of the concepts he teaches. Lab classes need improvement. "Very important" to write many essays to pass this class. Tons of material. Don't give up, read book in advance, I mean it. Gd luck!

Shyam (aka Dr. Sundar) is a fantastic educator. He teaches with a sense of humor but emphasizes the importance of getting your essays done and with good reason. If you don't do your essays and have only ever taken a basic biology course, don't expect to pass. Go to office hours and ask lots of questions. He'll update info as needed.

You will never have a dull moment in his class, his lectures are not crazy boring, he has amazing stories to share, he has been around you can say, and he drops your lowest scores from lab and lec what more can anyone possibly want. He needs to work on his study guide skills but overall amazing teacher. if you ask questions he will answer them.

He is a one of a kind professor, put in effort and you will be fine; its a bit hard over the summer semester; He is really caring for every student, puts in an effort to know your name even though you the quietest student in class. study hard listen to his lectures, make a study group and you will be so fine that it will feel like a breeze.

He is a phenomenal teacher he makes hard topics easy to understand, All i can say is that pay attention to his lectures, and show up to class you will be fine it is a hard subject but you will survive. -_-

Science classes are tough classes, especially if taken in the summer, but he made it enjoyable. Literally all you had to do is show up to class listen to his lectures and study for the tests. As long as you make time to study you'll pass the class. Best science teacher I have ever had!

Really good teacher, he knows his materials, makes class interesting and bearable for the summer. Lectures are recorded daily, so if you miss a class or want to go back you will have access to that. Gives great examples of the concept to make it easier to understand. Summer exams were twice a week. Final was kinda tough, so do well on exams

It has honestly been the most difficult class I have had so far in Ohlone, but he is also on of my favorite teachers. I took him in the summer, so maybe that's why I felt it was hard... also because science is not my subject at all. He is a very good teacher and HELLA FUNNY as well; but you really have to study if you wanna pass with at least a B.

Make sure you show up to lectures and take all the notes. As long as you take time to learn and grasp what he lectures then you will pass. You can't just breeze through this class. His class is a dictatorship, not a democracy. Also the essays are optional, but it helps a ton so do them.

Oh what can I say about Professor Sundar... you will learn A LOT. Don't expect an easy A, and don't expect him to learn your name either. Other than him being hilariously sassy, he KNOWS HIS STUFF. He will make you learn your butt off and your grade will reflect how much work you put in. I highly recommend him

Professor Sundar is a great professor, very knowledgeable in his subject. If you stay on his good side (don't complain about how he teaches) and study hard you'll do well. You will learn a lot. Don't give him a hard time, and he won't give you a hard time. I would definitely take one of his classes again just for the interesting lectures.

This class was really difficult, but its doable. The Anatomy and Physiology taught by Professor Sundar helped with the ATI TEAS nursing exam! I barely studied for it and I got a 97 for the sciences ( heavy on A & P ). You've got to work for your grade in this class... I got a B my first semester and barely got an A second semester.

Ive had Sundar for both 103A and 103B and he is one of the best teachers I have ever had. This class is most definitely not easy. Sundar is very knowledgeable about the subject and is there to help. He makes class super entertaining and engaging. I didn't give up and got an A in both classes. I couldn't have done it without his teaching methods.

Had him for Bio103B and Bio104. He's one of the best professors in Ohlone. His lectures are informative and he says funny jokes as well. His classes are hard but if you study and really listen to his lectures, you'll pass the class. Don't be afraid to email him questions because he replies quick. He cares for his students and wants them to succeed.

I've had the greatest pleasure of taking him for both 103A and B. He's definitely the most challenging professor I've had, but overcoming the challenges yielded a treasure trove of knowledge that I found very useful in preparation for Medicine. Shyam is one of the best professors I've ever had. Don't go into this class thinking it is a breeze because it isn't - that is to expect with A&P. We all struggled. You chose this class, you decide on what you do with the info given. Shyam will make sure that you KNOW the material. His past students are successful, so go gain some knowledge, noobs.

First of all, A&P is obviously difficult; but that's because of the material itself. Sundar's lecture are a work of art. Sometimes, he can be very difficult to understant, but again, atleast 80%-90% due to the difficulty of the subject. I had the honor to be in his A and last B class (so he says). His looks and fit are always on point, never bored

Shyam is fantastic in every way! If you put in the work, you will do well. If you skip class and hope you'll pass you're dreaming. Go to his office hours, HE wants you to do well and he WILL help. His lectures are flipping hilarious and so informative. My last tip is that if he repeats something a lot-PAY attention; it's VIP!

Dr. Sundar is passionate about what he teaches and takes the time to explain it and provide real life applications that help understanding. However, the material is very difficult and if you are not prepared to put serious work in individually outside of class, you will not be successful, but that should be true of any A&P course.

Professors lectures are instrumental in understanding the course content. Also read the book before going into lectures to integrate information better. His expectations regarding projects and homework are clear. He also goes out of his way to assist students to help them succeed by providing constructive feedback, open lab and office hours.

I learned so much in Bio-103A. The professor presented the subject matter very clearly. The structure was great and I felt the professor paid attention to the students, and as such not just lecturing, but actually engaging the class. By far the hardest class I've ever taken but definitely in my top three for favorite professors. Positives: very clear on whats expected (doesn't mind repeating things several times and will), offers more than enough materials to learn from, encouraging and funny. Constructive criticism: lab practical cards not always clear on test.

This course is hard but is not undoable. Professor Sundar does want his students to be successful, and he is trying his best to make this happen, but you also have to try hard. One thing that I want to complain is that the wording for some of his lab practical questions can be a bit confusing. (ps. write down all instruction that he repeats twice!)

Teacher is somewhat hard to follow in class; too fast, but otherwise he gives you a very straightforward idea of what you need to pass the class. The lectures are interesting and the most important part of the class. If youre willing to work a bit, this is a very straightforward yet difficult class.

Honestly, I hate science. Mainly because I am not the best. But this professor has been amazing. He is very open and can accommodate very well (only when needed though!). I am grateful to have taken part in this class. also he is very humorous

If you're looking to clear a GE for science, this is totally the go to. Sundar records his lectures and posts them within the week so that you can go over it to prepare for tests. Study the slides he provides, listen to the lectures, pass the class. He has an amazing personality as well and probably my favorite professor of all time!

Dr. Sundar is totally awesome. He's very thorough, provides a lot of information in a memorable way, but also challenges his students to actually know the information he presents. Wish he was teaching 103B!

Dr. Sundae is marvelous. He recorded his lecture and posted it the same day. He shared many techniques to pass the class, but U must put EFFORD n COMMIT into it. Do Essays cuz theyre helpful as study guideline. Seek help at tutoring center! Dr. Sunday is very knowlegeble with materials, but I wish he writes more on white board n talks slower :D

I took Dr. Sundar 2 years ago, but I held my review until I took my TEAS 6 for RN program. I scored 96.9% on my A&P for TEAS 6, boosting my total TEAS score to 92%. With this score I am almost guaranteed for the RN program. Dr. Sundar is hilarious and really do care for your success, and his lectures are fun and easy to understand.

He goes really fast through lectures but is very willing to answer any and all questions. The lecture set questions are useful since they help me review for the tests as well as gives us easy points to help you with your grades. Very understanding but get ready to study.

Best professor I've ever had. His class is lecture heavy, but it's interesting if you're interested in anatomy or physiology. He compares it to daily life so that you understand it better and he has lecture set questions that help you study before the test. As long as you work for your grade, it's not hard at all. I 100% would retake his 104 class!

I would take Professor Sundar again because of the way he explains but the only thing that would make this class more better is review day before exams and going over the lectures and the important topics that are going to be on exam since the whole class is based on exams. Sundar is a difficult professor but he is bluntly about his test. To pass this class, attend all lectures and go through the recordings. His lectures are amazing, he will not put you into sleep. Good notes are essential for this course and do not expect multiple choice answer in the exams. He goes pretty fast during lectures so I would advice making friends to combine notes and study. I would say if you want to pass, brush up on your notes for at least 15 minutes the following day and you will be fine.

Im probably going to fail this class but hes an amazing teacher. Do NOT overload on classes, this class is not like going to church. You cant just show up and expect good things to happen. Hes super funny and charismatic but intensely motivated to bring up medical Professionals. When you read this Sundar, know that you have my utmost respect.

Professor Shyam is an amazing prof. He is very intelligent and master in his subject. He made his students to work hard and care for their success. I never missed his class/lab. Prof. Sundar is AMAZING his class is really hard though so do not think this class is an easy A. There is tests every week or every other in both Lab and Lecture and no extra credit but he is super funny and makes the material fun to learn, great office hours and accessible outside of class for further assistance 10/10 would take this class again!

Started off pretty rough, but it all depends on how you study. You really have to know every single thing that he goes over. His lectures are very clear, but sometimes he tells stories that will go on for 5 minutes and doesn't really help with the exam in my opinion. This was probably the toughest class I have ever taken. Really study the material and it is unlikely to fail the class. He is very outgoing and funny, grades are from test and labs, you must really study for these tests, they are not multiple choice they are open ended so you must know these by heart in order to know how to explain it on test. There is no reviews for test other than slides and notes that you take. Toughest class iv'e ever had, study groups helped.

MUST review the materials right away after lecture. LISTEN and WRITE down the things he say will be on the test because it will be there, DO NOT SKIP open labs, take advantage of all time time given to you to study the muscles on the cadaver, the models, the slides, MUST do the essays to PASS test. He really does prepare you for BIOL-103B. He constantly reminds class what will be important for B (pretty much everything). Other than that, he gives ALOT of resources that will definitely help you. PLEASE get exams from former students, they will be your besties. Sundar is a funny guy, will pick on people but for funsies. PLEASE ATTEND lectures!!

Prof Sundar makes Bio104 plausible with great lectures and labs. Be prepared before class and study after class. Ask lots of questions during lecture and don't be afraid to visit his office hours. I recommend recording his class as a learning tool. Use the website he provides to better understand the material and remind him to end class on time!

At the moment, he is one of my favorite professors. He's funny, makes lectures very interesting, is happy to explain every single point he makes, and has stories to make the material relatable. He is very clear on what you should study for on his exams. Labs are also a piece of cake since it's mostly drawing. Finding a fault is proving to be hard.

Hello, so I am here on my gap year after college and LET ME TELL U this anatomy course is still one of the harder things I've taken. Yet I would do it all over again. (W part 2). Sundar is one of the funniest professors I've met and he really takes the time and effort to get to know all of his students. After the 1st practical, he will pick on you every single day. You will want to cry but also you can't because you're laughing. Shyam is a very caring teacher and really wants you to understand the material. This class is HARD do not think you will be able to skate by in this class. If you genuinely care about the subject and want to be successful in the medical field this class will be good for you, although the class is tough you will learn far more than another class.

Professor Sundar is no doubt one of the most effective professors I have had in my college career. I wish he taught all of the anatomy/physio classes I have to take. He is brutally honest with what you need to do to succeed. All tests are straightforward, and he tells you the format beforehand. Just read and study whatever he says to.

In this class you need to be on top of your work. Be prepared to study a lot, write essays, and take a lot of notes. This class is difficult but it is manageable because he gives you all the tools needed to be successful and makes sure everyone understands the material. This A&P class is hard even counselors will tell you not to take it, but it is hard for a reason. This class really prepares you for the real stuff and professor Sundar is GREAT at doing his lectures and HELPS a lot in lab. He makes sure to get you ready for 103B. Great teacher! Hes not as horrific as everyone says he is. He makes you work your ass off, you NEED to take it seriously or you'll fail. Took with 2 classes and same for next sem. This is the hardest class I have taken but the most I have ever learned from a single class. Don't fall behind, read the textbook before class, redo your notes, and do your essays! This class is lecture heavy but Shyam is a great teacher and tries his best to explain hard concepts so students can understand. One of ohlone's most caring professors.

How to hopefully not fail 1. Be organized. Theres a lot of paperwork assignments notes... etc in different places. Use his drop box. 2 dont miss class and take good notes 3 dont get the book (lab and lec) you wont pass 4 do the essays and do them well it really segments the info 5 prof Sundar is cool ?s or concerns ask but be reasonable.

Theres so many amazing things to say about Shyam but ratemyprofessor only gives 350 characters so Ill try to pinpoint the absolute best. Shyam is honestly the best professor Ive ever had at ohlone. His lectures are somewhat heavy, but if you need any clarification or something repeated he will happily do so. Take his class! Youll learn so much!

Tips for this class: Really listen to his lectures and take notes! Always look back to them and ask him questions if you dont understand something. Professor Sundar means business! Very helpful with understanding the material and preparing for the second portion of the class. Although there has been a slight transition to the class being online due to COVID-19, Shyam has put in the extra effort to making this class still beneficial in learning. Professor Sundar is hands down the best professor I have encountered at my time at Ohlone. So much so that after taking his Anatomy/Physiology 1 and 2 I decided to take his 104 class. As always he gave great lectures and adequate study material. During the pandemic he rearranged the course and made himself readily available to anyone who needed him

I can confidently say that prof. Sundar has been one of the best teachers I've had in my time at Ohlone. I have a short attention span and find any form of biology intimidating, but the way he presents the information made it approachable. Take notes, review them regularly, quiz yourself, be consistent, and you should be just fine.

This is a great Teacher, really into what he teaches and tells lots of interesting anecdotes. Get ready to take quizzes weekly but that lightens the overall load of things you have to memorize. He hands out summaries after every class which are helpful to see what he wants us to remember and to understand concepts better.

This class is actually BIOL 102, and it is a very fun class. I am a dual enrollment student, so I learned a lot of things in detail. Professor Shyam is very caring and he will answer questions immediately and help you whenever you need it. He sends out lecture notes after every lecture which helps you study. I would definitely recommend this class!

I was originally intimidated by Shyam and his fast paced lectures. However, after being in this course for 3 weeks, I know for a fact that made the right choice by being in this class. My past biology teachers never showed the interest that Shyam shows through his lectures and lab for this subject. Its a hard class, but totally worth every second.

Profferssor Shyam is amazing at his job. He is extremely helpful and will clarify anything you do not understand. The best part about his lectures are the stories he adds which in my opinion make the lecture 10 times more enjoyable. Okay attention during the lectures and do the lec set questions and you'll be able to get a good grade.

Dr Shyam is a great teacher who explains the content in an interesting way. The class itself and courseload are not very easy, but Dr Shyam makes the load easier to understand even though there's a lot of homework

Was going to rate this course once I took the TEAS exam, but idk when that will be. Sundar is honestly my favorite professor! He makes lectures interesting and is absolutely hilarious, though I find it hard to talk to him outside of class. Make no mistake though, study hard and far ahead of time. This class is hard, but he makes it worth the while!

Professor Sundar is easily one of my favorite professor. Despite teaching a hard class, he makes it so much easier to understand. Don't get me wrong, there are a TON of work and a lot of content, but they are very beneficial and sets you up for his exams. He is understanding about your concerns and is always able to give you the best feedback.

Shyam's Biology of Cancer class is carcinogenic itself. All jokes aside, Sundar is an outstanding, personable, and caring professor who cares about your success. He possesses an unmatched background and expertise in the field that allows students to be well informed and maintain an interest in the course. Very straightforward but work for your A.

Simply put there is not a professor in California who can lecture and relate the material discussed in a science class to real-life experiences better than Professor Sundar. This is not a show-up and get an A-class but the material you learn is extremely rewarding to life experiences in general. Who wouldn't want to learn how cancer works!

Great professor with a VERY difficult curriculum. This class online is so much harder than you think. You CANNOT pass this class if you don't attend all the Zoom lectures. Assignments will not help your grade, test scores are what makes or breaks! I managed to study 6+ hours a day for this class and still ended up dropping.

A&P will be difficult wherever you go, but Professor Sundar very clearly spells out whats important, and you can pretty easily figure out the formula to study after one test. I love Sundar and wish I could take him again, but I love the recorded zoom lectures during quarantine. I still refer back to them now even after the class is over!

A&P is a not one of those classes you can attend on autopilot and expect a free A from. It takes a certain amount of initiative to succeed in, and Professor Sundar is very helpful the entire way. One can observe that he really cares about his students, and wants them to learn & understand concepts not just for exams, but for their future careers.

Sundar is excellent and makes the material clear to understand. Read the syllabus to understand expectations and the chapters for exams. His A&P class is something I still use in nursing school and has helped me get A's because I apply what he taught me in A&P to my courses. Take this class seriously and you will succeed in A&P and nursing school.

Sundar is a treat. Extremely charismatic and passionate about any subject he talks about. Be prepared to dive into the text books, finish questions, essay questions, and attend any form of office hours offered.

I don't think I would have passed 103A and 103B if it wasn't for professor Sundar. The overall subject is tough but he makes it more manageable. Attendance is optional but going is extremely helpful in passing the class. Not to mention, they could be entertaining. Do all of the homework, take good notes and do the lecture set questions and essays!

This class (and 103B) are the toughest class I've ever taken in my life. But, he's a caring and funny professor who does his best make time for his students. You'll be tested on concept application not just concepts themselves. Be prepared to connect the dots so to speak. Go to his office hours. He will take the time to explain and answer questions

Hardest class I have ever taken but I wouldn't have it any other way. I genuinely learned so much and really enjoyed this class. If you don't try you won't do well. I took biology of human cancer. This is a very good class to take, Professor Sundar made his lectures interesting and at times they were even funny. You can tell that he is passionate about teaching based on the way that he talks about concepts. You do have to repeats watch lectures and understand material pretty well for tests though.

So passionate and knowledgeable, Prof. Sundar has created an incredible course on the Biology of Cancer -- this is his area of expertise! Lectures are top-notch. You will leave with a better understanding of cancer & the mechanisms behind carcinogenesis. No prereqs needed, but some background in bio/A&P will definitely help. Highly recommended.

Professor Sundar is a great professor! He's very helpful in class if you participate and ask questions, and as long as you study a bit every day, it's easy to stay caught up with material. His tests are a bit difficult though, so make sure you explain everything thoroughly. I would definitely take his class again :)

BIO103B is a hard subject, there's no hiding that, but taking the class with Sundar made life a lot easier! When taking Shyams 103 Class get ready for an experience. Tests are straightforward forward ... however, the immense information given can be overwhelming. Shyamwow takes his time to teach the material carefully unlike most professors. Be prepared for a lot of SASS and very cheesy jokes throughout the whole course. And be prepared to have no life.

Sundar is very stern and can be blunt when he wants to be. He wants people to participate in lectures otherwise he will feel reluctant to continue. Took this class in the fall. This class is very hard which is expected. However, professor sundar is awesome. Funny, blunt, understanding, and very helpful. Because this class is challenging, make friends and share your struggles together. This class requires studying EVERYDAY and long hours. Took this class while working and micro, thus not bad.

He's a tough teacher and just studying lectures won't get you by. You NEED to put in work, but he is always there to review your notes and correct your work for upcoming tests and quizzes. I did better in lab than I did in lecture, but because of his labs it prepared me for my radiology career!

This class was the hardest class I've ever taken. I spent most of my free time studying. Read the book, study the essays, pay attention in class. Seriously, this class was probably one of the most rewarding but one of the most difficult classes I have taken at Ohlone. Make sure to TAKE NOTES for any of his classes!! Without notes, you WILL fail!

Professor Sundar is good at what he does! Very knowledgeable about the content he teaches, manages to make complicated topics easier to digest for students. The vast majority of points earned in this class come from tests (some of the hardest I've ever had to take). Helps to have a firm biology foundation before taking this class. EC included.

Hands down the best professor/teacher I've ever had. He knows the material well and is great at teaching it to students in a way that is easily digestible. THE ONLY reason he is not a 5 is because his organization of notes and consistency of information is atrocious. I love everything else about this professor, including the amount of content (because it prepares for pre-nursing tests).

He is a great professor for self-improving, he is an interesting man and a storyteller. if you aren't, here is a tip. TIME MANAGEMENT is very important for this class. this course is an upper-division course(a lot harder than the prerequisites). so sometimes putting away the PC and phone is beneficial if you cannot control urges like me.

He thrives off the energy in the class, though if you're not participating, it well get very difficult and he won't be as helpful. All his tests are based off this hand written notes, so DO NOT overthink it and go reading the book before the test. Look through the resources first before asking him questions.

The content and expectation of this class requires a lot of work and preparation. I was able to begin studying unit 1 before the semester started which gave a solid foundation for the material. Professor Sundar is very open to being accessible in lending a helping hand to the students. I appreciate the fact that he writes his notes in an organized and clear-to-read manner for the students. Make sure to really go over all the notes and study well in advance to do good in his class. As long as you pay attention in class and study well you will be fine. At first he's a bit intimidating but that's because he is passionate about the subject. He listens to student feedback and will change his teaching style or provide more study materials to help us. Be prepared to study. A bunch of us took A&P with Microbiology the same semester and it was stressful but most of us passed with As in both courses.

He's a good teacher but oh my god is there a lot of writing. If you are not a heavy writer, maybe tone it before taking his class. Be ready to ask questions if somethings unclear because he knows what he's saying but sometimes we don't.

Dr. Sundar's online async course was structured in two-week modules, each consisting of a lecture video, reading, discussion, and quiz. There is a term paper that seems like a big deal but it was graded very leniently. The modules weren't very organized but it's manageable. You are graded on few things so study for the quizzes and you'll get an A.

I took Professor Sundar for Biology of Human Cancer. There are quizzes and discussion boards every two weeks. The quizzes can be challenging so make sure to understand the lecture and material very well before taking them. If you've taken biology, this course will be a lot easier I think. He is very funny and easy to communicate with.

During the semester, I found myself struggling a lot because he only grades labs and tests. He also makes his own tests and it's on paper. I was at a D and brought it up to a C, he was very kind and offered additional help. On my final grade he gave me a B, he grades on what the thinks you deserve and how much effort you put into the class.

It is a very difficult class but Professor making sure we all understand the concept before moving to the next one. For Lec. Quiz, submit the essay draft days before the test for him to check. Professor Sundar is a great lecturer, with very engaging content. However, this class is very difficult. He does his best to offer all the support he can IF YOU ASK. You cannot procrastinate in this class, and by being too nervous to ask questions, you're only hurting yourself. All in all, Anatomy is difficult, but Sundar does great digesting it.

Prof Sundar is an amazing professor. If you take his 103 series, be sure to study the material a little every day. Attend office hours (Prof is always happy to help) and ask lots of questions during class. Study with your classmates. Do your own research outside class. For the essay quizzes, outline everything then take the prompt, paste on a empty document, print that document, and you have a practice quiz.

Professor Sundar is a great lecturer. He uses a lot examples and anecdotes to help you understand the material. Unfortunately, because the class is fast-paced and is formatted as anatomy and physiology it does not allow students to do their best. Record lectures and ask for help. Take this class alone if you can, I did not.

Study for this course because he is very detailed with his explanation. I recommend to record his lectures some of his questions are on his exam. I recommend to show up to his office hours if you have questions on the essays. Learn to write the essay because if you understand the essay you will be able to answer the questions for lecture.

This class is very challenging, probably the hardest class I taken but I have become a much better student because of it. I have him for lecture only, but his new style of lecturing is very helpful. Great professor that helps you really learn and understand anatomy/physiology. Lectures are prerecorded and in class sessions are discussions for lecture set questions and concepts. Dr. Sundar is caring, hilarious, and stringent. I had the pleasure of taking 102 with him, and now, 103A. He uploads lecture videos on Canvas and uses in-person classes as a discussion of the videos. It is imperative you record the in-person sessions! If you've not had to employ all study techniques in your arsenal, 103A will swiftly correct that.

He is very knowledgeable and a good teacher. The tests are hard. There are four lecture tests and four lab tests. He does not give any extra credit opportunities. There are a few required essays, but they are there to help learn the material and are not worth many points. This class definitely requires lots of time and dedication in order to pass.

If you do not have the ability to study every day and commit a lot of time to this class, then you will not get an A. Exams are very hard so studying is key. Focus on Lecture material more than anything, I would rewatch the Lecture videos 3-5x before exams. But I feel like I am actually learning everything instead of just taking tests and passing. I'm in nursing school now, and Prof. Sundar's BIOL 103A & B lectures are still helping me. The topics resurface, and I can recall the processes easily thanks to his clear, thorough teaching. If you want an easy A, look elsewhere. But if you want to truly learn, take his class, attend office hours, review recordings, and have him check your essays.

If you're looking to be entertained through the pain of learning, definitely take his class. He will push you to study and actually understand the minute detail/difference between things that are similar. Sundar will be one of the professors I will never forget, he has taught me so much throughout 103A and 103B that I am confident in my ability to excel in my master's programs going forward. He is not easy, and exams can be tricky, but if you put in the work, I promise there is no other professor at Ohlone you should take 103B with.

I highly recommend taking his 103B especially if you've already taken 103A with him. He updated his lecture videos for our class which I am grateful for. It's an upper div stem class which is the basis for pretty much all health related careers. It's not easy, and honestly it shouldn't be. If you aren't someone who procrastinates studying you'll genuinely do really well, especially if you actively communicate with the professor and other students. Be curious about the material and it'll be easier.

this guy is a challenge and this class either weeds out the people who aren't built for nursing school or bolsters the ones who are, so disregard bad reviews. all u need is the discipline to get through the material. he provides every resource imaginable and wants you to succeed. god forbid a professor wants u to apply critical thinking skills.

He doesn't assign very much homework, it is one discussion post and two replies a week. It is very important to be detailed in your discussion post or he will deduct points. I took both 103 A and B with him, I got two Bs, I changed my ways of study, I don't memorize everything but try to think it through. Got trained to critical thinking and reach his level of A&P, may mess up GPA, but really learn true staff I know it will benefit my lifetime study. This is not a memorize-only-easy-grade sort of class; you have to memorize + understand + connect the material (even with 103A). It's challenging, but not in any way impossible. B is more physio heavy than A. Lab exams are easier than lecture exams. Prof creates a great learning environment but you have to care about learning to succeed here.

Exams test how well you know concepts/if you can apply them, not how well you memorize, so you'll definitely learn A&P super well from this class. Not easy, go to OHs, you'll have to know A when you take B (trust me you will), don't procrastinate, use flashcards. Take Sundar if you want to be well prepared for your program, not for an easy A.

Dr. Sundar is an awesome human being, and offers a lot of availability for questions/help. I've had him for 4 classes now, and his exams are challenging—they test deep understanding and are based on clinical application, not memorization. Not an easy A at all, but if you want to actually learn the material and excel long-term, he's the best!
