He is one of the best teachers in this school. He has a very good teaching style. I enjoyed his class very much. (It's very dificult to find a good teacher at this school...but he is one of them)

Talks abouts birds and sex.

Not only is he a great teacher- he is gorgeous! Looks like a CK model... when he talks about sex and positions, he turns us ladies on!!

If you can stand a lot of "bird" talk (bring it up if you want to get out of a quiz), then this is your class....very easy and clear...he teaches well...not alot of work and the exams are a piece of cake

This is the easiest class I have ever taken, no test and we really get to learn come cool stuff. Most of the time we just bird watch and he tells up kick ass stories. If your gonna take Comparative Psychology take this guy.

As compared to my Psych 101 class he was great.He has a great deal of experience in the field and makes learning enjoyable w/ examples and stories from the past.His enthusiasm was refreshing at 8 am and I would recommend him to anyone (he is also easy on lateness, although you may be teased).

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Shame I had to take him in the summer cuz we had to move quicker, but still an awesome professor. He's a GENIUS, too. Had him for Psychology. I hate psychology but he made it fun. Teaches from the book, so if you take good notes, the book isn't necessary. Always helps out, keeps you awake, jokes alot, and knows his material. Really nice guy, and makes an annoying class alot more enjoyable.

It's interesting to see the comments from recent students on Dr. Birdbach, as we used to call him, way back in 1985. I took his bird watching class back then, yes, 1/2 credit elective on bird watching. Sounds like it is no longer available? He is top notch, and the funny thing is, he is the ONLY professor whose name I could remember.

Prof. Birnback strays off topic a lot. Talking about his past, his interests and how clumbsy he is. He's a really funny and really nice guy, but having little structure made me have to study from the text often.

Dr. Birnbach is a very well educated professor in his field of psychology as well as other subjects. If someone does not enjoy the subject of psychology, I do not believe it has anything to do with this professor. He provides valuable information in an entertaining style.

I had this Prof for General Psych and Abnormal Psych and he is Awesome!! Explains everything very well so you can understand, as long as you take notes and show up to class you pass. His tests can be hard but if you pay attention you can pass no problem. Kind of corney with his jokes but soo nice!

Prof. Birnback is very knowledgeable of his field (took him for Abnormal Psych). Write down everything. Typically gives study guide questions. Use the book because he doesn't go over everything listed. Tends to tell stories, but they're pretty entertaining. No homework/papers so you MUST do well on tests.

I took abnormal psychology and loved it! i had his class at 8am and he kept me awake and made the material interesting. he talks a lot but tells entertaining stories and theres no papers or work just tests. i definitely recommend him!

Honestly one of the best professors I have ever had...would love to take another class that he teaches. He is very down to earth, easy to talk to, funny, very knowledgeable...he loves what he does and it shows which in turn makes me want to learn more..he makes it exciting and has a lot of passion..

He is an amazing professor. His lecture style is different then most. He will write a word on the board and talk about it for 5 minutes, so it important that you pay attention. He tells many stories about his life/past that relate to the topics that are discussed in class. He curves his tests very much, a class that is very easy to get an A in!

Excellent! Great lecturer, extremely funny, and dresses nicely! Show up to class, take good notes, study your notes/his review sheets and you should be okay. Tests are 50 MCQs and a choice of an essay or two. He curves each exam (I had a 58/70 and that was an "A"), and the three to four exams = your grade. No homework/papers! Easy A, take him!!

It has been >20 years since my class with Dr. Birnback. On one of my papers he wrote "It is a pleasure to see your honesty and apppreaciation of nature. Don't ever let it go." I have not and appreciate his guidance and enthusiam more and more each day.

Dr. Birnback is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable in the subject and knows what he's talking about. Although he digresses quite often, it is all very interesting and he really tries very hard to make the class enjoyable and fun for everyone. You should really take good notes and READ the text thoroughly in order to do well on exams.

He is a good teacher, knows ALOT but you only have 3 tests in this class and even though you dont use the book in class if you dont study from it you prob wont do good. Its important to study

Dr. Birnback manages to tie his random entertaining stories into something psychological. His lectures are pretty boring and drag. Even though his 3 exams are multiple choice, they are hard. You have to read the book! If you think you did bad on one of the exams, you prob didn't because he does a high curve. He's a great professor, take him.

He is sooooooo boring. his lectures are torutre because he doesn't stop making jokes and he teaches down to the last minute. Hes a cool guy and really nice. No need for taking down notes just study from the lab book. I wouldn't take him again because hes too boring. Not a single homework assignment either. Overall, hes a cool person

Easy class if you listen and take down the notes and look over the chap in book you will pass the test! Talks alot and gets of track but good teacher.Explains and teaches very well. Professor Birnback is a great professor, funny, and knows what he's talking about. You have to take notes during lecture and keep up with what he says. He is a good professor but the exams are a little confusing. usually he'll give you an essay on 2 exams plus the 50 questions. He is a nice guy but was hard for me. no power points with him just talking the whole class and you gotta make your own notes from it. he'll give you an study guide for the 3 exams.

an erudite prof who drives psych thru world history to connect the dots for you that the books dont offer thumbs up! Second time taking this professor and I love the way he teaches. Very laid back atmosphere. No need buying the book, I didn't even open mine. Don't miss his lectures because he goes over everything that he's going to put on the test. He curves grades and is overall a great guy!

Birnback is an awesome guy. Participate in class and he'll be your friend. I never bought the book, and so tests were hard for me but the way he grades is awesome! Did horrible in the multiple choice but the open ended was added on top of the first grade so that F on the scantron turns into a B! He was hilarious. Take good notes and you'll be fine.

Professor Birnback is a great teacher! Only gave 3 exams, the final was non cumulative, and if you study and know the definitions, you will do just fine. I personally didn't need to buy the book, but it could be helpful to some. He is very funny with his stories about his patients and experiences. I would definitely recommend!

He will not give you Ppt or note. You need to make your own note. Test is not easy if you don't read a book. Read a book before take a test. He is generous grader which curve grade. I didn't like his lecture at first but now I love his lecture. He is humorous.

He remembers all of his students names, which is rare with professors, and maintains a welcoming atmosphere in his classroom. He gives no homework and minimal tests, which he makes easy to pass. dr birnback is a caring professor who wants you to truly understand the material. there's 4 exams and those are the only things that the grade is based on. he gives a brief paper about what the exams are going to be on but I wouldn't describe it as a study guide. overall he's a good professor and I would take him again.

Best professor Ive taken! He makes class enjoyable and usually lets you out early. Theres only three tests but he grades them in a way you will definilty pass. I highly recommend reading the chapters before the test, dont just study from the notes taken in class!

A very funny guy

Only 3 tests during the semester, only the first one has one short answer question with multiple choice for the rest. The second and third tests are all multiple choice. Textbook can be rented in library for free and only used when needed if you missed a lecture/ class. Professor is nice and funny. Good class to take!

His lectures were kind of boring and he went off topic a lot which I found more interesting than the actual subject matter. There's three tests and they're a little difficult but he's lenient with grading. The reviews for the tests are a little unclear but if you study the notes and pay attention you'll be okay. My fave prof. I took two of his courses and even his best friend, Dr. Fisher's class at Bergen in which he made several guest appearances. He is a great instructor, he has ways of explaining things that make difficult topics easy to understand. Expect lectures everyday and 3 exams. No textbook, light studying if you pay attention. Don't come late.
