she makes class fun! there are lots of papers and 4 short stories. Tough grader. Lets you re write papers once and averages the grades. Doesnt keep you the full lenght

i used to do terrible in HS english but i did a little better in her class, she is a lot of fun and her class is rarely boring

She is an AWESOME lady. I loved her. I would take her again anyday. She is very fair and she makes class interesting. She is very upbeat and very nice. I learned a lot in her class and she is very willing to give you any extra help. DEFINITLY take her!!!

BEST TEACHER. Honestly, I wouldn't even double think taking another one of her classes. Gives you a total different take on english.. one that makes you actually ENJOY it! I would highlyyyyy recommend her, so fun and energetic, NO exaggeration. TAKE TAKE TAKE!

I LOVE SIGGY! She is a great teacher who loves English. She's very reasonable and understands that you have other classes besides English. However, she does expect you to do your work. She doesn't give you guidance like most teachers--she leaves all decisions up to you. DEFINITELY take her whether you enjoy English or not!!

Siggy is by far the best proffesor I have had. She makes the class so fun and she is just hilarious. I would HIGHLY reccomend taking classes with her whenever possible! She also has happily helped with things outside of the class as she has written me a letter of reccomendation as well as numerous other paper work I needed. TAKE HER CLASSES!

I have Siggy for QU101 right now. I had no desire to take this class, but she makes the subject totally interesting. The classes are enjoyable and interesting, and the papers aren't really formal at all, making them less of a pain to write. Siggy is really laid back, and class discussions are always fun. TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU CAN!!!!!

GREAT professor. She is a very open, energetic, and HILARIOUS person. Class discussions are fun, we watched Boondock Saints. Like previous comments, she is the greatest teacher in America. Taking her for EN102, if I'm lucky enough!

Siggy is a great professor. She doesn't lecture you, she talks to you. She has a wild personality and high energy which makes showing up three days a week pretty bearable especially for seminar course. You still need to take the course seriously though, but it's not that hard when you have her as a professor. She's the bomb.

Siggy was the best teacher I have every had at QU! She is really down to earth, very friendly, and is all around a great person. Her class is very enjoyable. 50 minutes would fly by and we would always want to stay loner! A must take class and teacher!!!

Really fascinating teacher. So glad I took her for QU. I was not looking forward to QU seminar but she made it enjoyable and easy. Seems like she's going to grade hard but ends up grading fairly. Has lots of great stories to share and makes you really learn about culture.

Siggy is a great teacher and a great person. The workload isn't hard at all, she makes class fun by getting into group discussions that engage everyone. She's really big on participation so if you just throw in a couple comments you're fine. Don't take her niceness for granted though, she will dock you point if you are on your phone or late, etc.

Siggy is a really nice lady. She made EN 101 a good transition for me and from my country. She has good personality and attitude in the class. I am happy to take Siggy again some semester. She should correct more on the paper so we can see all of the mistakes sometimes. It would be of help to many students.

Siggy's class was by far my favorite class! She's super understanding and really makes you learn a lot! The class has a decent amount of work but she makes it so it doesn't feel like a lot because there are flexible deadlines and it's a relaxed atmosphere! Plus she makes it so interesting and enjoyable to be in class that participation is fun too!

Siggy is the best professor I have ever had at QU that was NOT for my major. She is funny, nice, caring and is a blast to be around no matter what is going on in your life she can brighten your day. I would take again and again. She is amazing and to be utterly honest if you do not take her it is your loss!

Sweet lady. Tells amazing stories. Concerned about your school and personal life. Listens to what students want to do with the class. The FYS course is kinda a waste of time, but it is required, so Siggy makes it super interesting. She knows how to engage people and be thought-provoking. She does not have tests or quizzes just essays/projects.

Best professor at the University, very understanding of students and is willing to help. No tests or quizzes and minimal homework throughout the semester. Made FYS bearable. Definitely would take again!

Goal of class: inquiry based learning- she definitely nailed that into our brains and did it in a fun way. Learned a ton without realizing it. Amazing teacher. FYS in general is a dumb requirement. Gives essays but not too many or too long and you can pick your own due date so if you have a big workload in other classes u r not stressed out.

There were reading assignments and papers due but she is very flexible on due dates and understand what students are going through. Ask her about her life! WOULD TAKE AGAIN!!

Siggy's amazing. She's VERY understanding, VERY sweet and kind and flexible at grading. "You have to work for it to fail the class." Honestly, my roommates complain about their FYS classes so much. Then one of them entered this class one day and she cried cause our class was so awesome. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Great class, I liked that we were able to talk and have discussions; it was a nice break from the lecture classes. I also think that the class was just as effective as a lecture class, I feel as though I learned a lot, but it never felt like we were learning. Great professor, would take again.

If you get the chance to take Siggy, do it. She is hilarious and makes class interesting. It was one of the only classes that I actually got excited to go to. She encourages everyone to participate and everyone actually does. Assignments are interesting and if you put in the work you will get a lot out of it.

Siggy is the best teacher I have ever had and one of the coolest people I've ever met. She only gives meaningful assignments she is there to teach and will never give an assignment that would waste your time.

She was my absolute favorite professor this semester! She is so fun and outgoing and makes class so enjoyable to be in! If you missed an assignment or messed something up, she was always willing to give second chances. She is really laid back and leaves a lot of things up to the students, giving us a lot of independence.

By far the best teacher I have ever had. The way Siggy controls the classroom, having the students in charge of the conversation really benefited me. It is mostly discussions in class, and reflections for homework assignments. If you have the chance to take a course with Siggy, do not turn it down! You won't dread going to class!

Super easy A if you just do all of the assignments and hand them in on time but there are just a lot of things to do. She gives you the assignments whenever she thinks of them so they could be posted in blackboard or sent in email anytime so that's where is could be annoying or hard but overall amazing professor and would 100% recommend to anyone.

Great professor! Very funny and sweet; tried to include everyone in the conversation. Made class very interesting and fun. She really made you think. Made sure you knew everyones names in class and always does group work so you could talk to someone new in class. Class is lecture based; no electronics in class, except for laptop day.

Siggy was one of my favorite professors at Quinnipiac! She genuinely cares for her students and makes class as fun as possible. Only reason not to take this class is if you're allergic to dogs because she brings her dog to class a lot! (He's adorable btw)

Perfect FYS teacher. A bit unorganized, so if that is a requirement think about taking her class, but for FYS it doesn't really matter. Looked forward to going to class and was a great help for transitioning into school. Taught the course the best way it could be taught and super interesting and nice person. If you're lucky you'll meet her dog.

Siggy is awesome! She makes class very interesting. Though she doesn't assign papers, she gives a lot of small assignments, and sometimes without telling you. This may come off to people as disorganized, but she's preparing us for how to use Blackboard, or the homework assignment system. 100% take her if you can. She's so fun and interesting.

Siggy is probably one of the best teachers you will have in your entire life. You are lucky if you get her for FYS. She makes class so interesting and fun and genuinely cares about all of her students. I never dreaded going to this class once because of the way she teaches. She is always so positive and in a good mood which is refreshing to see.

Very easy and fun prof, if you need an FYI or INQ class, she makes class so fun and is so laid back. She grades mostly on participation and some assignments but hardly any for the second half of the semester. So nice and funny and has some good stories

Siggy was the best professor to have for FYS hands down! She's so funny and is always there if you need help with anything. The class is lowkey a joke, but for being a first-year, it helped me get adjusted really quick. You can get really off-topic with anything in the class but it's such a chill environment!

Siggy was one of my favorite professors! Had her for both FYS and senior year capstone. She is fun and upbeat and really allows you to be creative. Her enthusiasm makes the class material interesting and she is always available outside class to answer questions. Some of my favorite class discussions were held outside when the weather was nice.

She acts as if her class is the easiest in the entire school, which is definitely not the case. However, her classes are extremely enjoyable. She will pick your brain for hours. Very philosophical and really makes you think deep. Just in general, one of the most awesome people I know.

I would take Siggy's class again in a heartbeat. Class was always enjoyable and she created a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. Participation does matter, but she makes discussions seem like normal conversations rather than intimidating lectures. There is a good amount of writing, but it's mostly free-writing so you can't be "wrong."

This was a great class and I enjoyed being able to come and be able to share my thoughts on what we should do next for the class. I loved that the professor took the time to hear about everything that was stressing us out and was able to help us out when we needed it. The workload wasn't too overbearing and she was able to adjust it to what we need

This course is my favorite class I have taken at QU. This kind of learning is different from every other course I have taken as a Health Science Major. I enjoy being included in choosing what I am learning in each class. The class seems easy but we are learning in a different way and I loved it! Learned so much!

I loved this course. The professor was AMAZING. So much energy and love for this class and her students. Every class was extremely exciting and fun. One of my favorite professors I have had so far in my four years.

Siggy and SHS 420 has been my favorite professor and class throughout my whole time at Quinnipiac. She is extremely caring and considerate of her students and her lectures and assignments are very interesting. In this class, I always felt so engaged and relieved from the stress of my other classes. 10/10, highly recommend!!

Loved this class! Siggy makes this course fun and exciting. There is a good handful of work but it paves your way into writing one grand research essay. Just keep up with the work, and finish on time... and you're destined for an A.
