Do not take her. She just like an EN professor. You have to work a lot in the assignments and it has every week. Also, the requirements are hard. Mostly you have to write papers about technology with 1000 words and read powerpoint (boring, you can read from the book on your own). I took it just because i had no choice

Far too many papers. As if this is an english class or something and there is very little actually learned. Just essay after essay. Avoid if at all possible.

Every time you ask her a question she will simply avoid having to answer it by redirecting you to the syllabus or to read the chapter again. She literately goes off of the whole book ,none of her teaching is involved at all. She grades stuff at the end so you do not have a chance to dispute it. She is the worst professor in the IT department.

This is the most obnoxious professor I have faced 3 times, simply because I have no choice but to choose her class, as there were no other professors. MC should take note of that and replace her immediately. Nothing good out of her, she just come to class for fulfill her pay "check", and to give instructions on home works instead of lectures.

She does not care about your situation what so ever. She will not care if you have a flat tire of if your mom is in the hospital. She also has no idea of what she is talking about.

Stay far away. She isn't knowledgeable and forces other students called tech mentors to do her job. I took both her physical and online classes and she is by far one of the worst professors ive taken. stay away and join her husband's class he is far more relaxed, understanding, and actually knows what he is talking about.

Awful teacher. She uses "tech mentors" to basically do the teaching for her. She has an attitude problem and thinks that because she is so busy (she makes sure you know the first day of class how busy her life is) that she is some very important person. The first day I could already tell I know more then she does. Not that knowelegable in tech.

She grades your project 5 minutes before class and do not know what you have included in the project and just gave you a certain grade. She does not lecture at all so book is useless in class but for exams. only group project and exams through out the semester. Expectingn tech mentor to do her job.

Just please avoid her.. in any class. Take her at your own risk.

Per usual, Her syllabus was not clear. She made the class unenjoyable. The final project was due at an odd time. Horrible communicationI'm so glad I don't ever have to interact with her again. This was embarrassing for the MC cybersecurity program. If you're going to hire professors, make sure they are passionate about it before making us suffer.

Incredibly unhelpful and unprofessional, which is funny because she raves about professionalism in the classroom. Any class taken with her will end up being self taught. She has no real understanding of any concepts she teaches. Shes is the type of person that's pretends to know more than they know ands its cringely obvious.

She refuses to read email or will try to understand what student is saying. She gives grades without any knowledge on topics. Do not ask any questions it is waste of your time. Everyone knows about her, not sure why she is still with college.

Worst professor at the school in my opinion. How they can select such a person for the position of cybersecurity department director is beyond me. She never explains the curriculum/rubrics and any feedback you request is almost always met with refer to the syllabus. Projects are long and confusing with vague guidelines. Would not recommend.

Worst wannnabe professor ever. She waits to grade your projects to see how you do on the final exam. Upon that she will grade previous assignments to make sure you wont get good grades or pass her class. The most help you will get from her is "refer to the syllabus" She changed the syllabus 4 times in my last NWIT246 class. Avoid her!!!!

Do not take her. She is just awful. Her assignments due dates are unclear. She is rude when replying to emails. If you can avoid taking her class. Please do so. She does reply to emails but, most of the time she will just ask you to check her syllabus that she often change. She should not be teaching at all with that ridiculous attitude of hers.

Not the professors I'm use too. She expects you to know what you are coming in her class to learn. She is very rude and oh just read the syllabus and alot of busy work will be given. RIDICULOUS! I took this professor despite many warnings I've received from peers because there was no other Prof. teaching the course. She is VERY rude, NOT EVEN strict. Her online assignments are OUTDATED (Windows 2007) base on a old textbook. She is not engaging even though her class is online. I met with her during office hours and she is rude!.

Please, Please. Please REad IT!!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!! I have been a student for almost 22 years, I have seen a bad teacher, but this teacher is the WORST I have ever seen. She makes several mistakes, but no apology instead she blames the students.

I took her online class for the first time and it was terrible. I have never seen a professor that is so rude. I emailed her questions and she had an attitude responding to me, she also banned me from emailing her and told me to post on the discussion board, like what's the difference? Her work is doable, but sometimes they are impossible to do.

I'm currently taking her online class. She gives off a horrible attitude and is extremely rude. She seems to want to give a bad grade. Her syllabus is unclear, and she deducts points from based upon the vague sayings from it. Not sure how her and her husband are polar opposites, but only take her if it's your last resort. She shouldn't be teacher.

Never take this professor even in you dream. i wish i could give her -5 rating. currently taking a class with her and trust me you don't wanna know she literally failed everybody in the class. she lacks specificity and even when you ask her a question , she tell you to go check the syllables. NWIT173 course online. Syllabus and course materials are wrong and if you question it, she'll tell you to read the syllabus. Extremely rude, doesn't respond to emails. Doesn't grade on time. No lectures. No constructive feedback. Fling a grievance. Waste of money, no interaction and no instruction. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!

Professor Vargas is rude and uses her syllabus against you even though the material is old. My main reason for a 1 star is that she grades your assignment at the end which means that you do not have any meaningful feedback to apply to your work through and you are forced to accept whatever grade she gives you in the end.

She is the most unsympathetic, rude professor ive had the misfortune of having. A personal event occured and caused me to miss out on submitting some assignments. I let her know and sent her proof, but she was not understanding AT ALL and didnt allow me to take or turn in what i missed. Will never take another class with her again!

She is very rude. she doesn't care about her student at all. Doesn't respond to email and gets mad at us for sending her email. If you ask you many questions she won't reply. Wouldn't recommend taking class with her. She shouldn't be professor at first place.

Why would she be teaching? She has zero knowledge of subject, all she is doing is referring to Books all the time. She would avoid meeting anyone since she is afraid of any educational related questions. Please do not take her class, To be avoided at all cost, even if you see her coming your way.

I am convinced this professor wants her students to fail. Does not attempt to help her students. When asking a question, she gives ambiguous responses. It's even worse because this class is online and there are no scheduled class meetings. Just a textbook, and tasks. Blackboard emails are disabled,contact only through email

BE WARY OF THE SYLLABUS . READ IT CAREFULLY. I have heard from other classmates that she was rude in her reply emails, she sounds very irritated when she answers you. Even though it's through email, you can feel the irritation. The class requires lots of attention, put it on top of your other work. Your grade will plummet if you don't.

The Professor, is quite unprofessional. I think she has personal issues, that she then projects on her students. You raise an issue of concern, best believe that will be used against you in the grading. She should not be an educator. She does not know her stuff and is backward in the way she teaches to cover up, her lack thereof. Unknowledgeable

Very rude professor. I don't think she knows anything about the subject she teaches because she has other students do her work for her for so called "extra credit". If you ask her more than one question she immediately becomes ignorant, which is a big problem because her criteria for assignments is extremely broad and her feedback is worthless.

Worst professor I have ever had save your money

Lazy professor. This class was remote and all she had to do was log on and open up the slides for each week and she couldn't even do that on time. Her slides are filled with errors as well, and she just gave up on making them or posting them half way through the semester. Huge waste of money.

Checks her email MAYBE twice a week. You'll spend more time trying to figure out what she wants for assignments by asking classmates than completing assignments. Vague instructions = class guessing game. She doesn't grade based on the content quality she looks if you followed we exact templates, fonts, headers and etc. Also quantity over quality.

Worst Professor ever!

This has to be the worst professor ever! she makes 0 exceptions, she does not teach or help her students. You will be very confused reading her assignments and once you submit you will no meet her expectations no matter how hard you try. if you ask a question she will either tell you to read the syllabus or will tell you to take the 15week class.

Professor responds rudely to emails and says to read the syllabus and that you should be asking the private question in the public Q&A forum. Grades your assignments poorly but gives vague criticisms which do not help you improve your work. Class average 2.5 weeks into semester is a 49.8%

EXTREMELY often inconclusive and unconcise emails in combination with no examples of expected work result in overly complicated expectations with extremely nitpicked attention to detail, often favoring quantity over quality. Simply writing enough and following the unclear directions EXACTLY results in an acceptable grade. At least offered vast EC.

this professor is a waste of time, she doesn't teach, she doesn't email you back when you need help. she doesnt grade anything. you and your classmates have to work together to pass, because she is useless, her assignments are out of date. she doesn't update anything. if you dont understand anything, she will make you feel dumb

Not responsive by email. Takes a long time grading papers and doesn't give much feedback, so it's hard to guess what you missed and fix it the next time. Be prepared when you ask a question to get a response like "It's in the syllabus." Don't take it personally.

First of all, I joined this college and paid money not to be treated like I was working for the professor. How a college as big as MC cannot offer more professors for those courses I'm stuck with this professor but finally, I'm done and don't need to take her again. Please stay away I'm warning you.

If you happen to make a mistake and promptly email her about it, she will only respond after the semester concludes, admonishing you to focus and avoid errors next time. Ironically, she made an error but won't correct our grades. where she holds herself to a different standard than the students. Avoid at all or your money going to waste.

She is just not meant to be a professor. Her response time is inconsistent. When she makes a mistake, and big ones at that pretty much every other week, she will belittle you for informing her and asking for a correction. The school does not seem to care about the quality of some of their professors or student complaints.

Staying away from this professor. Emails often go unanswered, which is frustrating in an online class. We completed three group projects, only to receive a zero despite our hard work. As an honor student with a 3.9 GPA and only one class left to graduate, it was a frustrating experience. Despite my commitment and hard work, I received my first C.

Insane. This professor loves to give out 0's for the slightest possible mistake. Be ready to follow every single instruction down to the letter or you will get an F. She takes half the semester to grade, then takes the other half to respond to your email. Avoid at all costs. Not worth the insane amount of effort required just to scrape by.

Professor Vargas is knowledgeable but often dismissive and rude, discouraging questions. She doesn't follow syllabus guidelines, making the course confusing. Grading is harsh—PDF submissions get zeros, and exams lack consistent feedback. Double-check submissions, document everything, and be patient with her responses.

Horrible professor. She barely gives any feedback and somewhat harsh with grading. TestOut helps your grade. There are SOME extra credit opportunities which helps. I passed the class with an A due to really grinding this class - it is definitely possible but Prof. Vargas makes it INCREDIBLY tedious. I would not put myself or anyone through it !

Unresponsive, dismissive, and inflexible. "Teaches" through YouTube videos (not her own) and ignores valid concerns. Shows no empathy or support. One assignment was impossible to complete due to missing files. No room for submission mistakes. Grading takes weeks. If you value your GPA and mental health, avoid this course.

This professor isn't here to help student. She doesn't care and seems rather evil.

Unclear instructions for homework. She is not accessible when it comes to providing help for students. Not caring and sometimes rough on her communication. Exams are very difficult get ready to fill in blank space on tests quickly. 20 min- 20 questions one minute per question and no feedback on exams which means you cannot see your work results.

Do not take a class from this professor under any circumstance. Course content is disorganized. Assignment instructions are unclear. She wants students to use the class discussion forums to ask questions, but won't respond to them. She did respond when I emailed her directly, but she was rude, passive-aggressive, and did not answer my question.

Everything about her class is messy and unorganized. She gives poor instructions for assignments, is extremely slow to respond to questions and when she does she is rude and unhelpful.She won't grade any assignments until the end of the semester so you have no chance to learn or make improvements. Avoid her at all costs.

she ruined my mental health, this professor has been extremely disappointing. Throughout the semester, I completed all of my TestOut stuff on time, yet she gave me a zero on every single one. I earned a 98% on the final, and she still marked it as a zero. I was left with failing grades that don't reflect my work at all.
