Does not present the information in an understandable way. Runs through the slides to fast without explaining a lot of the stuff. Only gives 2 exams, but the midterm was very hard. Only 1 person got an A. He is a very smart man, perhaps too smart.
I wanted to learn some stuff in this class. Well.... I can't say that I did alot of that. He is a nice man and seems very easy to get along with. However, most of the time he did not explain anything. There were only 2 tests and one really easy project. Great guy; not a great teacher.
not interesting, not clear, inaccurate info. simon stick to coaching
Very smart guy. He has interesting lectures and excellent information! Recomend you take this class its easy and fun!
This class was "Death by Powerpoint". He speeds through slides very fast without explaining the content. I paid good money for the text book but it wasn't really used. His demeanor was also condescending and arrogant. Not a good teacher.
Simon Davies is an excellent tennis teacher. He took me from a terrible player to a great player. He spends a lot of one on one time with his students and helps improve their game. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to play tennis well.
Dr. Davies is cool person with a lot of knowledge about nutrition; his teaching skills are average. I think he has a deep passion and wants people to apply the info it to their lives. The class is 99.5% powerpoint, he does move pretty fast, but all that is minor with the health benefits from the course.
After taking this class, I start to eat so much healthier and feel great! He teaches very useful information. He was very approachable and helpful. Only 2 exams. Need to do powerpoint presentation at the end. Topic could be anything about food.
Excellent information and excellent teacher. The tests came right from the review questions--take the time to do the questions and you'll do well in the class. Eye-opening material.
Not an easy class, a lot of home work however a lot of useful info. Do not take this class just to fill your req. But if you are interested in nutrition he is a very knowledgeable teacher. A lot of cute girls in the class as well :P
Knows his stuff but doesn't know how to teach it. I had a lot of questions but like a U.S. President, he danced around the question and they never really got answered. I didn't learn anything useful. I was disappointed in this class.
Very simple, just do as he says and you will get a good grade. Study off blackboard
Knows his stuff...loves to talk about nutrition..very informative..ask specific questions..study off blackboard..and study guide questions and you will do great!
Wow awesome teacher. It is difficult to understand the homework questions at first but he is more than willing to help. You can ask anything you want about nutrition or health and he'll try to help. Knows his stuff
Professor Davies gives several "homework questions" during class, so it's mandatory that you attend. You also have to keep a short daily log about the lectures, but it's easy if you keep up with it. The final project is easy, but get started on it early! The moral of this story is to not procrastinate while in this class!
Professor Davies knows his stuff and is super interesting. Doesn't bore you with the stupid stuff. A few HW questions are given every class but the midterm and final are based strictly on notes from class. He does posts notes on BB but you gotta be in class to get the HW ?'s. Take the class it's super interesting and he is a great Professor!
Loved his class. Take it. You'll learn so many important things about diet and nutrition. This was probably the most useful, beneficial class I've taken in college thus far.
The online version of this class was a complete mess. The online test format makes it nearly impossible to conveniently go back and review/change answers. Test questions have incomprehensible, awful grammar. Professor doesn't respond to e-mails. It's possible to pass if you are willing to be extremely frustrated and confused.
Dumb class. Too much senseless and petty homework assignments. I already knew most the stuff. He comes up with assigments on the spot and doesn't explain the directions clearly for that or anything else. He often doesn't call on me when I raise my hand, and when he does he replies in an incomprehensive, condescending way. He turns me off nutrition.
The class was very interesting, and he is very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the content, but the homework assignments are ridiculous. I felt like I was in high school again. The entire semester was filled with busywork, and although it wasn't difficult, it was very frustrating.
THE ONLINE CLASS IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I earned As in 15 units and I took this class for fun. I expect it to mess up my GPA. It's ridiculous. It was a 2nd 8 week course and every other day there was a 2 hour long test. The 1st tests we only had 45 minutes to finish and it was completely impossible to do. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Very humorous. Made the class interesting, although he is very fast paced and has a strong British accent. Pay attention to lecture, print his PP slides before class to follow along and take notes. Use text only to clarify lecture points. HW doesn't have to be right - just do it for the points. Tests are tricky but he grades on a curve.
Tried to take this online, just for fun. I am a strong student, but flunked an open book test because he gives you a ridiculous amount of time to finish. Also money involved in cholesterol check, vegan visit and Ediet subscription. TOO much extra money to be paid for this (should be) simple class. VERY disappointing!
Took this class for fun but found it to be utterly insane. You have one hour to complete tests that require you to fill in the blanks multiple times. Even with an open book and me being an adept student, it's impractical. Teacher is not helpful, either. This class is a nightmare and I truly regret signing up for it.
The class content- very interesting. The professor- extremely useless. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
Barely made it out of his online nutrition 1 class alive... definitely not recommended. Tests made me sweat bullets and upset my stomach big time. I'd need yoga and a therapy session just to relax afterward. ;] Seriously though, stay away.
I took the regular class (not online) and he is a very funny and easy going teacher. There are no surprises on the tests, multiple choice all from his powerpoint slides, very simple. His homework assignments are nothing more than 5 minutes of searching on google. The normal class is a cakewalk, don't take the online class thinking it's easier.
DO NOT EVER take this class with this professor!!! Do yourself a huge favor and heed the warnings posted here. The tests were ridiculous, filled with improper grammar and misspellings. You never knew what you missed; you only received a score. The PowerPoint tests consisted of studying 13 or 14 50-100 slide PowerPoints. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!
Dr. Davies is a great teacher. All his notes are on blackboard and the tests are off the notes. Every class was interesting and its mandatory to show up if you want an A. He's a funny guy and has cool stories to tell. Dont hesitate to start the final project. Great class and even better teacher
Before I started this class, I was scared about the ratings I had read about Davies. However, I found them to be untrue. Davies is a great teacher & very passionate. Make sure you attend class & study ALL lecture slides for tests (not just the study guide) & you will do well. He inspired me to change my diet & was very helpful & informative.
took the online class so I can't speak for the actual classes. DO NOT TAKE THE ONLINE CLASSES. YOU WILL FAIL. I busted my ass just to get a C? The tests are straight from the book but sometimes are misspelled or require you to infer (if wrong, you get marked down). powerpoint quizzes were HORRIBLE and so confusing. STAY AWAY FROM THE ONLINE CLASS!!
I find it amazing how I barely read any of the chapters through to the end entirely and still able to get around 87-95% on the tests, which have a time limit of 1 hour and 50 minutes and have tons of misspellings or grammatical error. If I didn't have the ability to quickly scan for answers in the book, I wouldn't have survived this class.
Somebody should tell this guy that his tests are B.S. because even if you know the concept very well, the test is about filling in blanks and being fast. You are very likely to miss points because of spelling or grammatical error cause sometimes you'd have to infer the answer. His power point tests are ridiculous, cause they're so hard.
Seriously?! If you're able to find the same course with a different instructor DO IT. I don't understand how all my assignments have a passing grade though I end up failing at the end of the term. He's a strict instructor, watch out.
This instructor thinks he organized but isn't. He makes spelling errors on tests but expects you to not make any spelling errors. He expects you to retain every piece of arbitrary information and complicates the tests by using trick questions that make no grammatical sense. He will not admit to making mistakes. A man child if there ever were one.
I took both online and in class. i failed in class the first time and i just took online. Just wow. Both classes are just horrible. the in class less tests and work. online class more tests and more work. So i suggest inclass...if you HAVE TO TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR. but please avoid him at all times.
Took this class online, big mistake. Davis did not respond to my emails and was NOT helpful, in the least! Each week?s chapter tests was worded horribly and set up for your failure! The least he could have done was given a fighting chance!!! Avoid the instructor BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY!!
NUT 1 - Prin of Nutrition - I'm currently taking this class online. I assumed it would be easy because I've taken many online classes before but its NOT.. simon is a horrible professor when you need help he doesn't give it!! i had to email him a threat that I would talk to the board about him until I received a response back! he times test b4 9pm
I loved professor Davies. Although his tests can be hard, you need to make sure that you not only read the powerpoints, but that you also read the book. His study guides also contain material from the book ! I thought he was pretty straightforward and always willing to answer any questions. You just need to be focused and willing to learn.
avoid this "professor." take the class from another school if its related to your major (as i think hes the only one who teaches it at ivc) sure, the class is difficult, but not because the subject is challenging, its due to the mind/word games involved in taking his ridiculous tests. you'll never know what you got wrong or how to fix it. AVOID!
Online-- He is a horrible teacher, has never communicated with the class at all, never returns emails, sometimes you will get an error message during the test and he will still give you a zero for it even if you wrote to him telling him you got an error while taking it!!! completely unfair, and clearly does not care about students...STAY AWAY
Never responds to your emails. Tests are very difficult. He's very funny.
This professor was awful. The class was online, he never responds to emails, and his tests are ridiculously hard and tricky. His final project is a joke, as his description gives no clarity as to what you are to do and what he expects. He does not communicate in the slightest and all in all this was a terrible course experience.Go take it elsewhere.
The quizzes for the online class are arbitrarily and unnecessarily complicated and do not test you on your understanding of the material, and you will never be able to see which questions you answered incorrectly. Professor is unresponsive to email. I dropped this class two weeks into it because it wasn't worth risking my good GPA for.
funny guy, lots of information in class. if you take this class you will come out a much healthier person. if you take one class aat ivc, make it Dr. Davies' Nutrition class.
Davies is amazing, You dont even have to show up to class.. just make sure you do the my diet analysis and the lecture summaries... which are all based on the powerpoints and its an easy A... he choose 3 favorites that have to give him the homework answers everyday ... everyone else can basically sleep in class, DONT buy the book we never opened it
Hardest class I have ever taken online and I have been taking them for four years. There is no point in the multiple test a week because there are so many questions and information that I would not have time to study every single test. Seemed uninterested in the class and gave no updates on any of the material posted for 8 weeks. Avoid this class.
Midterm and final. Both were really hard. I showed up to every class but would space out, so that could be why. Lots of HW and a paper at the end. Funny and nice guy, but hard class in my opinion. Takes attendance.
Simon Davies is worthless. You email him for help on how to pass his irrelevant tests and he either wont email back or email back later. He does not care about you. You read the chapter, take the test just to find that he asks stupid questions you wont anticipate. Don't take it online or at all. This guy sucks
Didn't use textbook at all.. Lectures are so boring you don't pay attention... I had to look up all the information for the midterm and will for the final. Don't take, try at saddleback...
I hate to give him a bad rating, b/c he is a nice guy and will answer specific questions after class. But there is a lot for work for class with so little units. And his lectures are terrible. They are unclear, un-cited, and he makes a lot of "scientific" claims about food that are not supported. Expect to work a lot and gain little knowledge.
He did take awhile to respond to emails but he always got back to me within 24 hours. From my experience online classes are a little more confusing. The comments below are over dramatic. It's school you are going to have to read and figure things out yourself. Professors are also busy they can't cater to your every need. I recommend his class.
he is the worst teacher,,,
Enjoyed class lectures. Professor makes into more of discussion. Lecture summaries and homework summary is easy as long as you stay on top of doing it daily. Otherwise the class material can build up pretty quick. Professor willing to interact and meet with students outside of campus as well! Take advantage.
Worst class I have ever taken in all honesty. You may learn a lot in class from the power points, but that is it. The whole class is power points. I could have read the power points each time instead of going to class. All we do in class is go over the slides that are exactly the same as the ones we have up online...
I got an A in the online course, but I DO NOT recommend his class. Prof Davies does not care about his students. His quizzes/exams are tricky/ trivial. The way he sets up his exams/quizzes are so that you cannot go back to the prior questions. If you email him, he will not let you see which questions you missed. Take awhile to respond to emails.
Midterm was really tricky. The final project is annoying but pretty easy. He picks on students to answer homework questions so attendance is mandatory. Don't buy the textbook because he teaches straight from pwrpoint. Don't get behind on homework/lecture summaries. Overall it's a pretty easy A if you come to class and study for the midterm/final.
Davies is dope. His accent makes listening more interesting, plus he has a good sense of humor. He seriously cares about Nutrition. If you actually care about your body and practice good eating habits this class will not only be easy, but you'll advance your learning. Take Davies so we can have less nutritionally illiterate Americans
AVOID HIM! I took his online class and the amount of information he wants you to know for an introductory course is ridiculous. I should have known something was wrong when I saw "all of the previous as a choice". Is the answer A,B,C,D,E or is it A*B, or is it A&C&E or is it B&C&E or is all of the above or "none of the previous"? Get the picture?
The only reason this class is useful is because you learn quite a bit about what youre eating and it does make you think twice. But other than that, it was kinda useless. His exams are extremely confusing in that a majority of the questions are combination answers or none of the above. he asks very vague questions in class. dont get the textbook.
Seriously the worst professor I've ever had. I'm taking an online class and not once has he ever "checked" in with students. I turned in an assignment at the beginning of the semester and it still hasn't been graded. Weekly chapter tests (lots of reading) but only 3 points! The questions are so specific and can be confusing at times. Don't Take!!!!
I have taken a few online classes, but this one is a killer. 16 chapter tests of at least 30 questions each with confusing, misleading questions (Teacher seems to want you to fail) and two Powerpoint "quizzes" that are based on Powerpoints with just bullet points and no audio and are very confusing. These quizzes are 100 questions each and tough.
He has bad communication outside of the class. He assigns homework while in the middle of his lecture so if you miss or don't hear him you won't get the homework.
Gives hw that could be called busy work. I am very nervous for this class. I dont know what to study and he assigns only two exams. His powerpoints have like 200 slides each. He isnt very clear bout what will be on exams. Its a risky class to take. You kinda learn but like u could just read the slides instead of going to class. Wouldn't recommend
DO NOT TAKE. Took his online class and he was no help at all. If you take his online class, you will read a chapter from the book every week then take a test on that chapter, but his test questions are super specific and often have mistakes or are really confusing. Would not recommend taking this online class.
Everyone on here is a lil brat. His exams are easy just a week ahead study powerpoints and studyguide and u will be fine. Final project easy and so was any hw he gave. He makes class like discussion. For exams u need to look over thenstudyguide and powerpoints just know that! Never opened textbook
Worst experience i have had DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE! if you do you'll regret it first of all he does not return emails in a timely manner he is not helpful at all i ended up dropping the course i got a W but thats ok i took this course at Santiago canyon college much better experience you have been warned don't take this class.
This class was so great and informative. If you're in it just for a grade, you're gonna miss out on all the useful content on fueling your body with the best. He's a witty guy and fun accent. Homework is easy but can add up if you don't keep up each class. I really enjoyed this class.
Simon Davies cares about people and the planet. The future is in your hands and he provides ample information to make smart, healthful choices.
This was a really interesting class, but you have to study for the midterm and final, those are the only tests you take so it makes it pretty easy.
Took this class yrs. ago in another cc in person - A+. I can barely pass the online tests w/ e-book, textbook, notes, and google. Majority of questions are irrelevant, stats. driven, rather than focusing on the anatomy, chem, bio, etc., we're given to read for hrs. The projects are lame - vegan rest. visit, mandatory cholesterol test. Good textbook
Very unreasonable chapter quizzes; unclear/confusing questions, wording, answer choices, and material covered. Thoroughly read each chapter w/ notes, highlights, e-Book, and really stressed and struggled w/ every chapter. Projects took a long time to complete. Ridiculous amount of work required to get an A for a basic, intro class!
He was not my favorite teacher. He was not helpful and very rude. His lectures were pointless and very long. He does call on you repeatedly and expects you to know the answer to a question that you were never taught. Overall, I don't recommend this teacher.
This guy is really bad. I've written him numerous emails in regards to his online Nutrition course, his responses are rude and not explanatory. He is not doing any teaching, there are no power points, just weekly quizzes. If you get an answer wrong and reach out to him, he is of no help. So disappointed as I had high hopes for this class.
He really isn't as bad as everyone says. Ppts are pretty long. Homework is only due at the end of the semester. Study well for midterm and final and you will get an A. I missed a few classes and ended up with the grade I wanted. Didn't really put any unreasonable amount out effort to pass at all. 100% do extra credit. Every single point matters.
He's a really funny guy and I love listening to him talk, I just didn't like some of the material he covered. That said, if something sounds fishy or too good or too scary to be true, do some research on it. He does make you think about your health and how to improve your own health, so that's good. Offers lots of extra credit.
I do not recommend taking his class online, quizzes are full of mistakes and are very vague and confusing. Even if you read the book and actually understand the material his questions will have you stumped.
The textbook does relate to the tests, however, even when using some of the answers the book gives, my answer was still wrong. The test answers don't match the book's or even Google's which makes it confusing. You get about 2-3 tests a week & they're only worth 3 pts each. Discussions are worth only 1. Professor doesn't clarify anything on Canvas.
Tests don't really relate to the textbook sometimes, the answers found in the text apparently aren't correct sometimes. Extremely vegan focused towards the semester end, fails to mention negative nutritional aspects of a vegan diet while pushing a hard agenda on it through the course.
I love nutrition so much and have been considering pursuing this but his class is awful. The tests are SO hard and drop your grade significantly. There are tests 3 times a weak or more and there is no help at all. I am probably going to fail this class when I have been a straight A student my entire life. He is not helpful and I am stressed
Prof Davies is a passionate British man who's captivating. Easy A if u show up everyday, take notes, do the EASY homework questions, & study powerpoints. He offers a lot of extra credit (EC). I currently have a B, but I expect an A bc of EC. PROBABLY THE EASIEST NUT PROF. NO ESSAY. FINAL PROJECT. gives you study guides for the 1 midterm, 1 final.
I'll began with saying that he is nice and understanding if you have any issues. His lectures are long and boring. He has a dry sense of humor and always ask questions that make no sense, leaving everyone confused. Do the extra credit!! The wording on his exams is confusing and the study guide isn't too helpful. Go to class and pay attention!
I think he would be better in an on campus class. Don't get any feedback, typos on the quizzes, questions hard to interpret. Interesting class but wish it was in person.
Insightful, entertaining and inspirational. He is genuinely concerned about the environment and makes an effort to impart his knowledge on the students. Exams can be tricky if you haven't studied the slides and shown up for class. He gives lots of extra credit chances. No textbook. He likes it when you participate in class and make yourself known.
The online class requires a lot of chapter reading every week and tests can be tough. Zero input from professor all semester. Free pdf of textbook available online. Only 1 extra credit assignment which is needed for a good grade. Final project is lengthy but he grades highly if your work is good. 4 online discussions. Getting an A is possible.
Be prepared to spend a whole bunch more money. You are required to PAY for a blood test and required to PAY to go to a vegan restaurant all on top of class and book costs. Also, the tests are insanely hard. You can write down the entire book and still fail since everything is reworded.
Horrible class. The online orientation looks like it hasn't been update since the 90s. Apparently we were supposed to get updates on how we were doing in the class. Never did. Also he said to check your email everyday. Literally did not receive one email from this man the entire class. He tries to trick you on the tests and they don't make sense.
Short hour and 30 minute lectures that is essentially useless, as if you just use the study guide he gives you for the midterm and final, you will do fine. Alot of EC to make up grade and get an A. Super Vegan, pushes vegan agenda extremely hard, very passive aggressive to traditional meat eaters, there is a reason why the EC is eat vegan!
You could take notes on all 30+ pages of each chapter for the tests and still struggle because of the way the test is made. It's like he closes his eyes, picks a random sentence in the chapter and expects you to know it for the test, and then flips to another random page in the chapter and picks a different one. They're also worded to confuse you.
Lectures are long & boring, but the class isn't hard. Participation is important so expect to be randomly called on to answer a question. How to get an A: do all the extra credit, study for the midterm & final (study guides provided), keep up with lecture & HW summaries, put in time & effort in the final project, & PARTICIPATE!
Worst professor I've ever had during college. I am a very good student in terms of completing all my work and participating and going above and beyond in each class to ensure I do well. However, this was the first class I considered dropping. He is constantly expecting you to spend money to complete assignments and does not care about you.
The tests are ridiculous. The questions are not based on the power point information. The order of material asked is completely random and requires reviewing the slides multiple times searching tables for miniscule words on the slides. Six weeks into the semester I have found it impossible to pass a quiz.
I'm almost failing despite reading the whole textbook, utilizing all of his finite resources, and re-reading exam questions. His grading structure is absolutely bizarre and unclear, he rarely gives specific instructions for what he wants, he never tells you the correct answers to what you got wrong, so it feels impossible to learn or succeed.
there are no lectures. quizzes are not from the slides.
Do not take this course at all costs. If you do, take it as P/NP. There are weekly quizzes that are HELLA hard to pass or to even succeed on (even if u use outside sources!). You can obviously look through the textbook and ctrl find keywords during online quizzes but even then, it's impossible to find the answers to obscure questions.
No lectures. Weekly chapter quizzes are really difficult because the questions are usually based on obscure details from the textbook (power points are useless; just have the book open). Make sure you do all the other assignments to cushion your grade. He's also lenient about late work even though deadlines are set at the beginning of the semester.
I honestly thought the weekly test chapter exams would be based on lectures BUT NOPE so I was so confused and worried because its a total of 45 points and the entire grading system is a total of 100 points and to be honest he just hands presentations and doesn't teach, it's you who teaches yourself, I wish he could lecture so its worth the money!
The class was somewhat difficult. Im taking this class as a high school student to kill time this summer. It was fairly difficult and his projects had little to no clear instructions but he was a pretty nice grader on the projects which I guess makes up for the confusing instructions. The tests were really weird and always on random details.
Challenging. Reading every chapter and not every chapter because his tests are very challenging. Do not rely or even read the slides. Tests every week and are challenging to make an A on.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! His Test is hard, each question is .1 of a point and a total of 3 points per test. I have tried contacting him letting him know I was struggling and he question my work ethic. If you do take this class, be prepared to teach yourself...
RUN. I received a 0 on a project because it "didn't have my name". It did have my name, so I asked him to change it. He said it still didn't have my name, so I had to resend it with a big red circle around my name for him to change the grade. I could keep going, but thats all that you need to know.
Just do yourself a favor, and don't.
Use this as a sign, do not take this class with this professor. Awful is an understatement...
His quizzes are quite time-pressured and he tends to be somewhat rude. I followed his instructions on the final project to a T and he still claimed I did not follow them. GET THE BOOK. It's the only way to do well on quizzes; all answers are there. His lecture slides aren't useful. Do the EC. 90 points (=/ %) is an A, tricky but not impossible.
Horrible I would be never take him again
I had difficulty communicating with the professor and their emails were hard to read and not clear. The content was not too difficult but the quizzes they made were difficult. No matter how much I studied I could not get the best score. Some assignments directions were confusing and when I ask I just get the same response in email.
I already have my bachelors of science and have taken some very tough courses with very awesome professors. Simon Davies is a horrendous excuse of a professor, doesn't know how to teach, and treats a beginning nutrition course like it's a 300 level course. Simon you best learn how to teach, you are terrible representation of professors at IVC
In this class, you teach yourself 100%. He gives you less time than there are questions on tests, so be prepared to rush when taking those. Will not reply to emails, and if he does, you'll be left feeling more confused. Unfortunate he's the only professor who teaches Nutrition 1 at IVC.
Zero lecture to explain the concepts. Will not respond to emails or phone calls. Test covers materials that are NOT in the textbook or PowerPoint. This is an angry professor. Be aware.
This professor will not respond to your emails or phone calls. He is angry with students from their previous college investigations.
This professor does not care about students and he does not provide any lectures.
This professor does not care about students and will not answer any emails. He is just there to collect money. He provide zero lectures.
Gives tests every week on topics not in the book and provides less time for the test than there are questions.
This teacher/class were an absolute waste of time. This professor doesn't care about teaching you and you won't learn anything useful about nutrition. Also everything is worth just a few points so be prepared to get graded down on EVERYTHING. The final project is worth 20 points but doesn't do shit for your overall grade. I feel defeated.
super difficult class, he's very compassionate, but at the end of the day it's too hard, a lot of cheating was done to pass this class with an F
DO NOT TAKE Terrible prof he frequently quizzed on topics that were not in the textbook or PowerPoints, He routinely had answers for questions that were not correct and when confronted on the fact his questions were not listed with the correct answer he was very defensive and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing on his part. DO NOT TAKE.
His tests are hard and he won't correct them, there are mistakes with the corrections. He wont respond to my emails and won't take late work. Honestly, I'm scared of what is the grade gonna be like. But the textbook was good but the professor is harsh and unfair to his students! I'm sure I got the questions right! only one attempt. THIS IS UNFAIR!
Honestly the worst teacher ever his instruction are so unclear and when you email him he doesn't respond first of all or he just sends ok when you ask him a question and he also takes points off of evreythinggggg
Might be the worst professor in history no joke. This guy doesn't know how to teach, his tests are nothing like what he teaches. He genuinely has no idea what he's doing and does this course no justice. nice accent and classes arent too boring but holy don't take this class if u want to succeed.
His clear explanations make difficult topics easy to understand, and he genuinely cares about his students' success. He's approachable, helpful, and has a great sense of humor, which keeps the class engaging. you'll thrive in his course. Highly recommended! me and him spoke about veganism a lot and it was amusing! This man is a hero
this teacher is pretty good. people are just lazy so they write bad reviews but if you put in the work and effort, you will get an A most likely. Everybody in my class for the most part was pure laziness so trust me when i say this, even though the teacher isnt perfect its possible to do really good. I got an A+ and am his best student.
The powerpoints don't match up to the quizzes. He also never replies to emails, but expects you to reply to his emails that same day or else he threatens to drop you from his class. I'm only taking this class because I need the credit and it was the only one available. But I would never take this class with this professor ever again.
He does not respond back very well at all, there were a lot of us who needed help and reached out due to his lack of information on assignments and he didn't bother to respond. He also has assignments due in the middle of the week during the middle of the day. His instructions on assignments did not make sense at all (ex. the final exam).
Horrible communicator with tedious requirements for every assignment. He weighs parts of an assignment randomly, so underlining a word could cost you half your points. Everything is due at 5 on a Wednesday, I hope you don't work or have other classes. Tests are too frequent and timed poorly, modules are pathetic, he doesn't care if you learn.
Truly, the instructions given are more like a puzzle and seem to be more of importance than the actual content of what we are learning. Everything is due at 5 pm, which is oddly specific and doesn't do any good for people who have different classes or responsibilities. The final project was incredibly hard to understand instruction wise.
Tough class, but try using Unstuckstudy with the textbook - it helped me prepare for the tricky tests. Professor doesn't lecture much, so be ready to teach yourself.
LISTEN TO REVIEWS! assignments due at 5pm. Seriously? tests are loosely about lectures. syllabus states for full cred, u must reply to other responses before starting urs but u cant read other replies until u post. 35 time limit for 30 question test. WORTH 3 POINTS! avoid x3. supposed to be an intro class but its like a high level nutr course
He is such an understanding person make sure you taking in person tho because online it's not so easy if you pay attention you will get a good grade
The midterms and finals were not accurate representations of the lectures. There were many errors on the tests that he would not correct. It was very hard to communicate with him over email and in person.
Every test was impossible and not even based on the book. When you email him, he takes more than a week to respond. For the gorup project he literally posted the assignment with NO instructions. Everyone in my class made a group email and we were all like what are we supposed to do. WORST teacher ive ever had by a long shot.
Please NEVER take this professor. He should not be a professor. He is not thre for students but for his paycheck.
Very understanding, gave me an opportunity to make up for the course. Pleasure to have taken this course.
